dare i say ur the best squid game writer?? the namgyu hcs was def the most accurate depiction of his character ive seen ! showed his insecurities so well. chefs kiss. speakinggg of if ur taking requests from him. what abt reader finally breaking up w him? like tired of all the toxicity. how would he react?
BREAKING UP WITH NAM-GYU / PLAYER 124
Tumblr media
a/n. omg tysm for the kind words !! i loved the idea for your request, and i hope i did it justice ! thank you again for trusting me with it ♡
Tumblr media
at first, nam-gyu’s reaction would be pure deflection. he’d scoff, roll his eyes, and act like he doesn’t care. “fine, go,” he’d say, his tone dripping with venom. “you think i can’t live without you? watch me.” his pride wouldn’t let him admit how much it hurts, so he’d lash out, throwing barbed words your way in an attempt to make you second-guess yourself. it’s a classic manipulation tactic—turning the blame onto you, acting like you’re the one overreacting or being unreasonable.
but as soon as you walk away, he’d start spiralling—anger would segue into panic. he’d start analysing on all the moments he pushed you too far. there would be some level of guilt, but instead of owning up to it, he’d try to convince himself it wasn’t his fault—or worse, blame you for “giving up on him.”
when hours or days pass without a word from you, he’d start calling or texting, alternating between anger (“don’t you dare ignore me”) and desperation (“just tell me what you want me to do”)
when he realises you’re serious and not coming back, he’d oscillate between two extremes. on one hand, he’d try to manipulate you into staying by pulling every card he can think of: guilt-tripping, love-bombing, even reminding you of the good times to make you question your decision. he’d say something like, “you’re just gonna throw all of this away? after everything i’ve done for you?” or, “no one else will care about you the way i do.” not because he doesn’t care (he does care. a lot) it’s because he doesn’t know how else to express his desperation.
on the other hand, he’d also act like he doesn’t give a fuck to protect his ego. he’d put on a front, telling you to go and that he’s fine without you. he’d go to work, or use loads of drugs, just to prove (to himself more than anyone else) that he doesn’t need you. but deep down, he’d feel hollow. every time he numbs himself, it’d just make him think of you more.
if he’s really desperate, and you’ve been ignoring his attempts to get your attention, this might be the moment where he shows an almost childlike side of himself. he’d show up at your door, completely disheveled, and beg you to stay. he’d get on his knees if he thought it’d work, his pride be damned.
after the breakup, if you don’t take him back, he’d probably spiral even worse. he’d rely heavily on unhealthy coping mechanisms—drugs, drinking, or surrounding himself with people who don’t actually care about him. but no matter how hard he tries to distract himself, his mind would always drift back to you. he’d fixate on what he did wrong, though he wouldn’t know how to fix it.
if you did give him a second chance after all this, he’d try to be better, but it’d be a slow, messy process. nam-gyu doesn’t know how to handle his emotions or build a healthy relationship, so even his attempts at improving would be kinda flawed. but the fear of losing you again would drive him to at least try—though whether or not he can actually change is another story.

Not In The Exhibit Brochure
It was a hot summer day and the city was filled with people coming to be a part of one of the biggest fantasy conventions in the country. Video games, board games, tabletop RPGs, LARP, movies, TV shows, theater shows, even musicals. If one fancied themselves a fan of a franchise that existed in any of these forms, they could be found spending a sunny August weekend in the convention center.
Mark meandered between countless people in the Second Pavilion, getting tired having spent the last five hours walking around the convention area, being asked for pictures and catching up with his friends. This year he came wearing a full cosplay of one of the characters from his favorite first person shooter. He put on a tactical vest, helmet with a full headset, a tactical belt with a bunch of accessories and camo pants. In his hands he was bearing a perfect replica of the most famous gun from the game.
He spent a long time perfecting the costume, both by searching for just the right gear and by spending hours in the gym. Now his broad and thick shoulders, football-sized biceps and veiny forearms were visible for all attendees, which garnered Mark a lot of attention, which he enjoyed.
It was exhausting, however. The temperature inside the convention center got uncomfortably high at times, so he decided to take a break. He fold the few friends who joined him during the day that he was leaving for a while to take in some relatively fresh air, then pushed his way through the crowds until he got to the exit.
Thanks to the fact that the center was basically in the middle of the city he didn't have to go far to get to a park and relax, then find a place to eat and just take a walk through the city.
Mark was aware that many businesses and institutions had various perks for the convention ticket holders, to keep the attendees in the city for longer and spread the economic effects of the convention. He was reminded of this fact just as he was walking by the giant building of the art museum. His curiosity was piqued and he checked if he would get a discount of a ticket. It turned out he could walk in for free, the only requirement was to show his pass at the entrance.
What Mark saw after getting through a quick but awkward security check truly amazed him. He slowly walked from one part of the building to the next, taking his time to watch every piece, all displayed in a well air-conditioned space, which was a nice bonus. The museum had a bunch of different special exhibits currently open to the public and they were all pretty stunning, each in its own way.
Finally, Mark made his way to a part of the museum furthest away from the entrance where he saw a recent collection of sculptures from a local artist. Each statue was an extremely realistic depiction of a person, and they were supposed to collectively represent modern society. There were athletes mid-run, businessmen in the middle of walking in between offices, chefs tasting their newest creations, it was all incredible to watch, every sculpture most likely taking weeks or months to complete. Mark stood in the middle of the room as he looked around and every time he managed to find a new detail in one of the statues. While his eyes were jumping from one piece to another, inspecting every curve and small detail, he was unaware of just how much time has passed since he entered this space.
And then he tried to move.
Mark heard his phone buzz loudly in his pocket. It was probably one of his friends wanting to check up on him. He tried to move his hand to take the phone and answer the call, but it wouldn't move. Neither would his head. Or any part of his body. He was immediately alarmed. Mark tried as hard as he could to get any element within his human form to move even an inch, but it didn't work. His whole body was suddenly completely stationary and he could not control its movements, because he couldn't cause any movements. He started to panic and hoped someone would notice that he wasn't well. There were a lot of people at the museum so it would be just a matter of time before one of them came to this room and noticed a guy in a military cosplay was standing weirdly still.
Except this did not happen. Visitors just passed by him with no interest in the person standing frozen in the middle of the room. As Mark looked with his unmovable eyes at the tourists wandering around the space right in front of him he felt like he was losing the track of time. Was it a minute ago that he realized he couldn't move? No it mus have been almost an hour by then. Nah, it couldn't be.
Then Mark realized something horrifying. Not only was no one coming up to help him, they began to stop in front of him and just look at him, as if he was just another...
Did he turn into a fucking statue?! That terrifying thought seeped deep into his mind wreaking havoc along the way. How could this have happened? Magic? But magic wasn't real! That was impossible, this was a dream, for sure! He tried to move his body even a little bit, but again he failed every time. He desperately tried to force his hand to move so that he could pinch himself and wake up from this terrifying nightmare. But no part of his arm changed position, not even an inch.
A larger group of tourists, mostly retirees, led by a young woman slowly moved through the exhibition space and passed by Mark, who continued to struggle and try to move.
"Huh, the guide didn't say anything about this one. Did that lovely lady talk about this soldier, Harold?" An elderly couple stopped in front of Mark and they stood there and admired him for a moment.
"No, Mary, I'm pretty sure I'd remember" The man, Harold, took a step closer towards the statue.
"Harold!" The woman shouted at him. "You can't walk up too close to the sculptures dear."
"Oh, calm down" Harold responded, slightly annoyed at his wife's comment. "I'm in an art museum so don't tell me to not look at the art." The older man stood just a few steps away from Mark. "There's no plaque or rope or anything, this is a free country, Mary!" He was a few inches shorter than Mark, so he couldn't clearly see everything but it seemed he was just looking at Mark's gear.
"Look. The artist — that Gary what's-his-name — knew what he was doing with this one. I recognize all that gear this man is wearing. Nice work." Harold's tone of voice suggested he was weirdly pleased with the statue that used to be Mark. "This is what a real man's supposed to look like. Not some sissy sitting behind the desk all day."
"Of course Harold, of course" The woman walked up to her husband and put her arm around him, then started gently pushing him towards the other statues.
Mark's brain struggled to comprehend what he had just witnessed. He had really turned into a statue! People thought he was a part of the exhibit! How could this have happened? He couldn't come up with any even remotely plausible explanation for what he was experiencing. He then thought that his only hope would be his friends - they knew he was downtown, maybe some would guess that he used the opportunity to get into the art museum for free, which would lead them to the place where Mark was currently stranded.
The group of retirees came back, walked next to Mark and was about to leave the room when the tour guide looked at him and murmured to herself.
"This statue was not a part of the exhibit. How did it get here?" She grabbed her phone and quickly led her group towards the rest of the museum.
Mark again realized he couldn't tell how much time had passed since any of the recent events. It was as if his internal clock had stopped working, ran out of batteries. This whole experience was so confusing that he had issues fully registering everything. He tried counting in his head, but got lost after 20, maybe? The only thing he was sure of, for now, was that the day had not yet ended, but he could not tell what part of the day it was, as the whole museum was constantly lit with this slightly weird diffused lighting.
Three people suddenly came into view and stood some distance away from Mark, clearly looking at him. He couldn't hear the conversation they were having because of the noise from surrounding visitors, but he could clearly see that they were all agitated, talking over each other and aggressively pointing at themselves and Mark. As he looked closer he realized they were all museum employees, meaning they were probably debating what to do with a statue which has suddenly appeared within the premises of the musem they worked for, a rather uncommon occurrence.
Not long after they left Mark's view and he was once again stuck in this feeling ot timelessness. Tourists stopped in front of him every now and then, looked at him for a moment and moved on, while he stood still, holding the gun in his hands as if ready to fight, and yet incapable of it because of some indescribable force.
The employees from before came back, one of them holding in their hands a metal stand of come kind. It had something written on it at the top, but Mark couldn't see what it was. What he could see was the employee putting the stand in front of him and them all looking at it.
"That will have to do for now" One of them said. This time they were standing closer and Mark was able to hear what they were saying.
"Yeah, I won't be able to make a proper one until tomorrow."
"Okay, but it has to be there by Monday afternoon, otherwise we're fucked. Jesus Christ, still'can't believe this happened."
"No time for moaning, Jacob. We have work to do." Another one replied. They all nodded their heads, took one last look at the stand and quickly left the scene.
Mark thought about what he had just witnessed, and it took him a moment to understand - this was a stand with information about the statue, which meant him. It was the same kind as dozens more throughout the museum that visitors could look at for further information that was meant to enrich their experiences. This was meant to hide the fact that he was not here just mere hours, or minutes, or days, or-- he was certainly not here when the exhibition was opened. That fact was probably what had made them so angry and confused before - from their perspective a random statue of a soldier randomly appeared in the museum.
His mind immediately asked one question - I wonder what did they write on there? What was his title, his author, his artistic description or statement? Wait, his author? That was a strange line of thought, Mark realized.
I am Uncontrolled Power.
Wait, what was that? Who said that? Where was that deep voice coming from?
I was created by Greg Duchaime Arreman.
Was there someone standing behind him?
I am meant to represent unchecked aggression and power of the Military Industrial Complex.
Wait a second, what this voice inside his head?
I am the physical manifestation of toxic masculinity and bravado.
Holy fuck, this was a voice inside his head. Was this... what they had written about him on this stand?
Fuck yeah, I'm an alpha who follows orders and crushes any sign of disloyalty.
The voice was talking to Mark. Shit, the voice was talking to him! What the fuck?
You scum, get ready to experience the primal, animalistic force of a toxic man! I'm gonna crush you!
Mark wanted to sigh loudly, but of course he couldn't. Great, the museum employees with their great art wisdom made him a stereotypical aggressive soldier. Obedient muscle. The armored tool of American imperialism. And this soldier character seemed to have appeared inside his head.
I am here to blindly follow orders, enforce them and show everyone what masculinity really means!
If Mark could have rolled his eyes, he would. He was stuck, like an NPC frozen mid-frame, standing in the middle of an art museum, possibly forever. And from now on he would represent toxic masculinity, aggression and military prowess.
Whoever stands in my way will be violently crushed with the power of the American Military and my primal force! Toxic and proud, that's who I am!

Appreciation post for my favourite art-ISTS
Im the kind of person to hyperfixate on a fandom for extended amount of time and am stuck between wishing that artist/creator to make more works (songs/films/novels) and wishing I get amnesia so I can fall in love with it all over again lol.
#1 Guy Ritchie
Tumblr media
There's a lot of Guy Ritchie works that I adore; from Lock,Shot and Two Barells to Man from UNCLE to the Gentlemen Universe. I love the signature cinematography, the comedic quips and sleek setting of gangster/mob trope.
The female characters he created were iconic; Roz and Susie Glass are my favs😍😍😍 honestly queen icons. I also loved the inclusion of combining Americana flair with posh British drama.
I honestly can't wait for the next season of the Gentlemen series (kinda bummed that we dont get to see more of Mickey and Roz but Eddie and Susie's chemistry and tension are to die for ngl)
#2 Mike Flannagan
Tumblr media
I think I've watched all series by Mike Flannagan, (sans Midnight Mass, I've tried three times starting from episode 1 and still gets kinda confused so I dont enjoy it as much as the others)
Haunting of Hill House and Haunting of Bky Manor are both heartwrenching. I love the symbolisms, the damning parallels the devestating ending for some of the characters. Between the two, I loved Hill house more—the horror element was really exquisite.
The plot twist where Nell was the ine haunting himself, the doomed narrative and Poppy Hill subtle manipulations were all beautifully executed. I would love to see more of the victims of Hill House.
The Fall of the House of Usher is another fav of mine!! Generally, I really like the way Mike Flannagan adapts the series he does from famour author's like Shirley and Edgar Allan poe. I love how he combines Poe's works; while I don't extensively follow or read ALL of Poe's works, I do recognize the little details and honestly it's so satisfying seeing it brought to life.
In all the series that he does, (aside from the similar actors bsing re-casted) I kinda like how he ties up the storyline with a neat plot twist and I know several people have mentioned this, but I love that in the horror stories he does, the ultimate device is not gore or indulgant bloodspill or jumpscares. Instead, the plot device, Flannagan uses is the inherent element of love being the binding tool that led people to their doom (Nell's love for her deceased husband, Eleanor's love for her children fueling her paranoia) and human's greed (in midnight mass and Fall of House Usher) that makes the story so grounded.
Another series that I love and am honestly surprised was not directed by him is The Residents because the style and twist were kinda similar to Flannagans.
#3 Lin-Manuel Miranda
Credit video to its owner: theplayerslist
Miranda did a lot of banger for Disney (Encanto, Moana etc) but I absolute love Hamilton and In the Heights. The man's a lyrical genius, enough said.
Hamilton was a game changer honestly, and truthfully he really suited Hamilton's character (sans the cheating part😅😅) because Alexander Hamilton was depicted as this eccentric genius whose tenacity and resilience made him him distinctive and Miranda kinda have those qualities.
In the interviews, how he's kinda this awkward successful theathre kid but the way his mind works is honestly astounding and I kinda hope he does more work outisde of the Disney films (Disney's recent films kinda suck)
#4 Mamat Khalid
Tumblr media
One of the best Film makers in Malaysia. I like the Kampung Pisang Universe—the iconic Hussin character and all the kamoung people (will forever miss pak abu and seriously? I wanna live in Kamoung Pisang so bad)
The ambience he brings in his films, the comedic plot and hilarious dialogues as well as amazing execution from them all are literally just chef's kiss.
I like the Perak accent? (Betul kan perak? "Kome ingat teman tahu ke bende ni?") I love all the local elements here and it's honestly so unique and I feel it does bear some semblance of resemblance to P Ramlee's works but distinctive in its own way.
Personally, I kinda detest certain parochial and crude themes that was tossed in it but had to chalk it off as just part of the jokes inserted there.
Hantu Kak Limah and Zombie Kamoung Pisang are honestly my go to comfort shows.
#5 Anuar Darwisy
Tumblr media
I feel like Anuar Darwisy is a bit similar with Mike Flannagan in that they both really utilizes the exact momentum to execute their plot twist.
Though in Anuar Dariwsy's case, the horror and supernatural element is inherently scarier and I absolute love all the historical Malay culture within his works.
Amukan Jembalang Tanah—Kedah's lores
Ngauman cindaku—Pahang's lore
The Story Of Maria-an amazing masterpiece combining Western horror takes and the added setting of Covid era was honestly a nice touch. Lagi2 bila dia cerita pasal kat Bangi kan, so sis kat UKM tu dah meremang dah lol
Anuar Darwisy is honestly so underrated and his works are simply spectacular. Reading every paragraph is like having a frame by frame cinematic shot happening inside my brain and honestly couldn't helo but wanting more.
The details, the amount of research he did are always astounding and lowkey excited for his newest novel (AAAHHHH DIA BUAT PASAL DANCER HANTU WEYHHH IM SO FREAKING EXCITED SEBAB MY KAKHRI SOULMATES AU PON ADE PASAL ULEK MAYANG SO I CANT BELIEVE MY FAVOURITE AUTHOR WOULD WRITE A STORY ABOUT THAT)
Tumblr media
#6 Linkin Park
Tumblr media
I have nothing to say except that Linkin Park is like my coping mechanism anytime I get depressed. I love all their albums especially Meteora and A Thousand Suns.
#7 Eminem
Tumblr media
I don't like Eminem just for his Not Afraid song. I think as a whole Eminem is lowkey kinda little shit but that's the energy Im going for in life sebab life's a bitch and sometimes being too nice is kinda taxing.
I think Eminem songs are kinda what got me into liking rap a lot enough that I delved into other rappers like NF, Altimet, Malique, Joe Flizzow and Kmy Kmo.
Eminem and LP are lowkey the songs I turn to whenevr I hit my more depressive moods (which makes my sister argue sebab why the fuck does my sad playlist have Eminem's Killshot and Kamikaze in it🤣🤣🤣)

End of Beginning
Tumblr media
Note: Because I started watching and literally said, Fine. I'll do it myself. Seriously though I love this couple and I can't wait to write for them. This will be a Sydcarmy story, so no leading OC lady because I love Syd. I hope you all enjoy and give it a chance! The aesthetics for this story should be dropping tomorrow. Thanks, please let me know what you think (politely). Also, hi to my best friend who I know will find this. Hope you enjoy <3
Warnings: Depictions of depression, mentions of suicidal thoughts (not from main characters, grief, explicit content (future chapters) and strong language.
“My therapist said um…something about how I’m probably in love with you or something. Behind.” He says quickly, as if it was a normal ass topic of conversation.
“I’m-I’m sorry, what would that even look like? Sorry.”
“Uh, like this, Chef.”
“Right. Okay, could you maybe…say more…about that?”
“Do I have to?” He asks, putting his knife down and staring at the counter, refusing to meet the pools of chocolate speckled with golden flakes that would be there if he lifted his head. There are two possible outcomes here. The shitty one, where she scoffs at him. Or tells him she’s fucking someone else. Loves someone else. Knows how much of a fucking shit storm he is in the inside and is thinking ‘No absolutely the fuck thank you, I have no interest in taking your crazy ass on any more than I already have, motherfucker’
Or the shittier option. Where she’s fucking gracious and blind enough to give him a chance to fuck shit up more than he ever has before. Where he’d get a taste of everything he’d ever wanted and then have it wrenched away. Where he’d lose her completely.
“Um, yes you absolutely do, Carmy.” He sees her roll her neck, facing him with an incredulous look that demands more of him. “This is bullshit. Like you wait right until I’m on my fucking game, you know? Like the perfect moment to fuck me up. I’m getting it together, working for my star-”
“I’m getting you your star.” He mumbles, scratching his jaw nervously.
“I know. You’re helping me get my star.” She huffs, looking up at the ceiling. “It’s just…I was just getting over it. And then you started acting weird, and Ritchie started saying shit, and you’re fucking me up, Carm, like for real.”
He breathes out, letting her finish her tirade before dragging his piercing blue eyes up to see her pretty face marred with stress. “M’sorry, okay?”
“Okay.”
“And I fucking love you, so-” He pats her shoulder, grabbing the pot of shrimp he’d been de-veining and slipping behind her to move to another part of the kitchen. “Yeah, my bad.”
“Fuck you, dude. Seriously.”

Yoshis Hatch From Eggs
So recently a hypothesis has been going around claiming Yoshies are something they are not, and by extension has led to many people believing Yoshies don't hatch from eggs. So here's several examples of Baby Yoshies hatching from eggs.
The first one is from Super Mario Bros. 4 Super Mario World, in this game you can come across some eggs that hatch into Baby Yoshies. A we see the same thing happen in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe with the Baby Yoshis from that game. This can also been seen in official art depicting this as well.
In Game & Watch Gallery 2's Vermin a Yoshi is protecting 6 Yoshi eggs from the Koopa Troop. These are probably the same eggs that hatch in Yoshi Story. The Green Yoshi is probably the Star Yoshi that hatched at the end of Yoshi's Island DS as well, making the other Yoshies here his friends which he mentioned in SMB4SMW.
In Game & Watch Gallery 2's Chef we see Yoshi lay and egg which hatches into a Baby Yoshi.
There is also the whole Yosu Ko/Yoshi Lake thing.
We see a Baby Yoshi hatch from an egg in Super Mario RPG and live in the nest with other Yoshi eggs.
Finally we see a Mini Yoshi hatch from an egg in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. This shows Yoshies also make nests.
So yes, Yoshies do indeed hatch from eggs as.

What are your favorite versions of Bruce/Batman and why?
For me I’m a basic bitch (just watched Mask of the Phantasm) and think BTAS Bruce is great, he’s just so compassionate I can’t-
I also have been on and off listening to Batman:the audio adventures that version of Bruce is also really solid.
So many Batman’s so many answers-
Uh well- if your talking about what depiction I think is the most accurate to Batman as a concept it would be Batman from the Arkham games.
If you’re talking about the best depiction of Batman animated wise it would be Terry McGinnis Batman from Batman Beyond.
For Bruce? The TikTok’s I keep on seeing of him from DC: Super Hero Girls is literally perfect. Idk if the show is good or not but it has one of the best dipictions of Brucie from an outside perspective I’ve ever seen.
Comics it would be anything by Frank Miller. I personally think he’s very hit or miss Batman wise. I feel like the parts I personally love about his Batman were partially accidental- not that he isn’t a sold writer. (His work with daredevil was *chefs kiss*)
Guilty pleasure wise, it’s always fun to talk about The Batman Who Laughs.

So watched the new DMC anime, I love it, I enjoyed it a lot, but here some detail thoughts.
Things I love to death
Expansion of the demon realm including Sparda's actions having consequences effecting his ppl which including themes of immigration, stereotypes fabricated by powerful oppressors (DARKCOM) and how it's setting up a much higher tension between the twins in regards of them being hybrids.
What's planned for Vergil including already being Nelo Angelo yet is willingly(?) serving Mundus mayhap due to being captured and manipulated (ironic cause i know there is aus and fics like this) and it's definitely gonna have some Trigun esque to it where Vash and Knives side with one part of their species over the other thus gonna make how the twins gonna butt heads and increasing the angst!!!
Episode 6, a masterpiece and using different art directions to depict Lady and the White Rabbit's story is just chefs kiss give me more, I want more of that.
Dante's DT design, I wanna ride him.
Vergil's design, I wanna ride him.
Making "Devil's Never Cry" the ending credits.
Certain music choices that correlated well with the story, some felt like it shouldn't have been in this season.
Sparda getting shittalk cause that deadbeat deserves it.
The baby twins, I wanna protect them but also damn they're lil shits bless Eva for having to raise those hellions.
Dante getting half his face blown off cause I love seeing the sparda twins injured teehee. uwu
The DDR scene, super dorky of Dante.
Nods to other Capcom games like RE, Megaman, Street Fighter.
There a lot more, but don't got it on top of my head.
Things that I'm not a big fan of or need improvement.
Not enough Dante, but I appreciate them giving us more development on secondary characters.
Certain scenes either should have not been a thing at all like Plasma Vergil or should have been place differently in later episodes or future seasons.
Highs and lows on the pacing; sometimes it hella fast and other times it slow or pace weirdly.
Dante should have his full on DT in the later seasons, this was a bit too early, but I get why they set it up this way.
Some animations are a bit janky, mainly the CGI parts, but I know that has to do with budget, time and Netflix being Netflix.
All in all, I enjoyed it, there some room for improvement and I'm confident the team will take onto account of criticisms in order to make future seasons top notch.

Shantae: A New Genie Trivia #1
Here's a little idea I'm doing where I share little trinkets of information from my Shantae fanfic.
Shantae and Vera are both fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
I really enjoy giving names to the characters who didn't have any before. Rotty's human form is Rosa, Chef Girl is now Emma, "Sirens" is merely a title while they all have their own original names, and so on.
Nora (Lobster Siren) is a big comic book and anime fan, repeating stuff she sees (like the Ginyu Force pose) and general quotes from the movies and cartoons. She likes Avatar too, but prefers the sequel with Korra more.
I imagined Molly (Coral Siren) would have the voice of Peridot (Shelby Rabara) from Steven Universe. I chose her because of a fanart I saw of Coral Siren once that gave off serious Peridot energy. She likes sci-fi movies, but she is cursed to always nitpick the films whenever they break her suspension of disbelief. She still enjoys the films but she can never turn her brain off like Nora can and just enjoy the film as a whole. Her sisters wonder why she keeps watching these films if she keeps nitpicking them.
Generally, the fancasted voices I gave the characters were based characters with similar roles to the ones in my story. Bolo acts a bit more like Sokka from Avatar in my version, so that's why I picked Sokka's original voice, Jack De Sena. I kept Cristina Vee for Shantae and Risky because I can't imagine anybody else for the role.
I wanted to make Sky a lot more sensitive and caring than how she's been depicted in recent games (7 Sirens especially). That's why I imagined Ashley Johnson, the the voice of Gwen Tennyson from Ben 10: Alien Force, doing the voice for Sky.
I made Nora the daughter of Iris (Empress Siren) since they're the only Sirens in the games to share the same species and I thought it would be a fun connection. I also made it so Nora can talk normally because I figured it would be a hassle translating all her squeaking from the games. Since Iris can talk normally and Nora is her daughter in this version, I figured both should talk normally.

I only read half the ship/don't ship ask post and thought it was just about why you ship a thing so I was going to say tonhon/chonlatee but now I know you can say you don't ship something that's not as funny
How about! I cannot think of a single pairing. Hold on.
Go Ho Tae/Kim Dong Hee! TToF
And
Khai/Third! ToL
Tell me about your favs!!!
even if the game was only about reasons to ship it, i would have broken the rules to be mean about TonChon and this should in no way surprise you but anyway!
Khai/Third - Ship It!
What made me ship it: the second half of ToL and the point of view switch from Third to Khai is not only what made me ship it but also what made the show for me. ToL is quite literally my problematic fave that I ignore 50% of to love (the UnTwo and PanBone storylines mostly don't exist to me) and the only thing that sold me to it is Khai's redemption arc. It works so fucking well I will never not love watching it unfold.
My favourite things about the ship: I like how dramatic and self-sabotaging the both of them are. Khai gets the rep for it but actually Third is a whole dumbass too. My guy has no self-respect. Neither of them do! They're made for each other. Also, I generally love stories where one of them realises almost too late and has to work their ass off for it.
My unpopular opinion: while as an action in and of itself Khai's fake drunk kiss and general initial treatment of Third sucks so so so much, I think it also makes the turnaround that much more satisfying. If he started out reasonably not into Third but also not that bad of a guy, the story just wouldn't be as compelling and the effort to win over Third wouldn't have such a big final payoff. My guy has to get over a whole lot of stuff and he WORKS for it, and that's what makes the show and the relationship work.
Dong Hee/Ho Tae - Ship It!
What made me ship it: they poke at each other so much. As soon as they were both on screen in ULS, it was obvious there was history there and it took less that a couple of minutes of shared screentime to sell me on them. I was immediately on board. I'm a sucker for ships where they can dish it and take it from each other even before they get together. Mutual stubbornness is sooooo my jam. Also the self-sacrificing Dong Hee thinks he has to do and the absolute refusal from Ho Tae to let him is just *chef's kiss*. Did I mention the mutual stubbornness?
My favourite things about the ship: unfortunately, I really vibe with when characters like Dong Hee think their existence is somehow making the people they love so much worse and the world is hell-bent on proving them wrong. This goes for both ULS and TToF as, even though the "chase" is depicted in very different strokes, the fundamental motives behind the characters stay the same. There's this inevitable push and pull to Hot Tae and Dong Hee that feels very much like they inhabit this place that cannot be separate from each other. They have ingrained themselves into the other so hard that no matter how hard they try to pull away (mostly Dong Hee), it's just impossible to untangle from each other.
My unpopular opinion: I'm not sure I have one about them? I really really wanted TToF to be prequel and sequel at the same time. When it was announced I'd hoped it would be structured with two parallel storylines running at the same time, one set pre-ULS and the other post-ULS because I think there was a lot more of their story to tell in both directions. But that's hardly an unpopular opinion.
and you thought you were safe but no!
Tonhon/Chonlatee - Don't Ship It 👎
Why I don't ship it: it's not that I don't ship it, it's that I don't fucking like the show in the first place. The whole plot is so aggressively bad, it's genuinely hard to find any redeeming qualities.
What would have made me like it: a better story. That's literally it. It wouldn't have been the first borderline homophobic love interest BL I would have liked, tbeh. The whole having children storyline would have to be severely altered, Tonhon's entire personality would need to be radically reviewed, and a stronger side-story for MikeToptap certainly wouldn't hurt. I did like the casting a lot so it doubly sucked for me that we never got them acting together again.
Something positive about it: Khao was incredible in it. He was hilarious and charming despite all the atrocities of the show, and Neo is alway a pleasure to see on screen. Plus, aside from the casting as I already said, MikeToptap were fire together and it was a huge waste.

Is there a specific version of Joel you imagine for each of the joelkémons? Like do you imagine game Joel or show Joel for NW! Joel, etc.
I've never played or watched the game, so I imagine HBO Joel to some degree for most of the official joelkémons. Bear with me bc idk if it's just me but I feel like even HBO Joel has very different looks throughout the show. even within 2023 alone. Later I'll do a visual post.
In my head, I imagine. . .
-night walks!Joel is played by HBO Joel but with darker hair, I think because it was always at night at first? The lift heavy / talk dirty / smoke weed banner is how I see his face. but he also has a dieter bravo flare and style when he's not slutting it up in esquire mode to go out.
- Lincoln Joel is played by HBO e3 2023 Joel with his hair slicked back when they first get in the car.
- raider is played by esquire!Pedro with HBO Joel facial hair but not the grayest version.
- stepdad is played by e 1 Joel when he's manspreading on the couch but with glasses.
- Trouble is played by a combination of HBO Joel when they're walking outside (like when they're looking at the airplane) and, when he's in work or protective mode, e 1 when joel's making the drug deal.
- free use is played by HBO e3 Joel in the flashback of them eating outside with Frank and Bill in Lincoln.
- Speakeasy is played by the most common Joel look for most of the show like e 1 Joel when he's worried about tess's injuries or when they're sneaking through buildings .
-thighs out is basically l played by chef boyardee Joel with a dieter bravo flare
-slasher is beautifully depicted by @bonezone44's art and in action I kinda see him as HBO Joel when they're sneaking through buildings (like shhhhh!Joel).
I could possibly add links later but I feel like I've already taken so long to answer this pretty simple ask bc of my 🧠 so please see my profile header for link to master list & main Joels.
*It blows my mind how long it took me to "meet" dieter bravo. At one point earlier on, I was literally googling Pedro pascal in pajama pants looking for night walks pics and dieter never came up! He's perfect. And even comes with drugs! But with less fluffy hair and more of a Joel or esquire look to his face (w/ joel facial hair)

Thanks for answering my ask before. If you don't mind me asking (again), can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......
Hello again - thanks so much for all of these questions!
Hmmmm, I have so many favourite things across so many different forms of media that choosing a top 7/10 is super hard. I've gone with my gut of the first things I thought of that I love, but the list could easily be wayyyyyy longer. I'm sorry - I tried to keep this as short as I could... In no particular order:
My Hero Academia (anime + manga) MHA is the first anime that I think I ever really properly enjoyed. I watched it in 2021/2022, immediately fell in love with it, and proceeded to devour both the anime and almost all of the manga. I obviously adore all of the characters, but I also love the way that MHA portrays superpowers - both in terms of how they function (w/ there being unique limitations to them) as well as how it depicts/explores superhero society. I don't normally go in for superhero type media anymore, but the combination of all of the above (plus literally the sickest soundtrack from Yuki Hayashi) easily makes it one of my fave ever things
The Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers (books) I could write an entire dissertation on why this is one of my favourite series of all time, and why Becky Chambers is one of my favourite authors. But the shorter answer is: literally everything about them. Chambers' writing is beautiful, her narratives are full of love, hope and community, and her characters are incredibly diverse and well written. My fave book from the series is Record of a Spaceborn Few.
Dragon Age series (video games) I first came across Dragon Age at a fan convention back in 2016/2017 during a panel on queer media (I think). In addition to the panel discussing the general queer relationships/characters in the series, they specifically highlighted Dorian and Krem in DA: Inquisition. The following day I went out, purchased all the games, and then played them through from the first game. IThe games are super fun to play, the writing is *chefs kiss*, and I love the themes that the games explore. I love them so much I've even written an article and done a podcast episode about them!
Jurassic Park franchise (films, books, games) Jurassic Park is one of the franchises that I was raised on (along with Star Wars) and I have been obsessed with it ever since. I've seen all the films (up to Jurassic World), read the books, own books about JP, played a bunch of the games, and even have a poster map of Isla Nublar on my wall. Dinosaurs are one of the big reasons I love them, but also I think the films have always been very interesting to me for how they give us a lens in which to think about animal rights + conservation in a science fictional setting (something else I have also done a paper on!)
Final Fantasy XV (video game) I'll keep this one short and sweet: best boys on a roadtrip that will both make your heart full of joy but will ultimately leave you a sobbing mess on the floor (Honestly I didn't play FFXV until the end of 2022 and I am still !!!!!!! over it)
Haikyuu!! (anime) sksalkkljsa. I don't even know what to say about this. HQ is just the fucking best.
I Was a Teenage Exocolonist (video game) I don't talk about it so much anymore, but Exocolonist is still one of my favourite games and it makes my heart feel so much whenever I think about it. I love the entire aesthetic of it. I love how impactful your choices feel and how many different routes you can go down. I love how inclusive the game is, not just in terms of gender, race and sexuality but also with polyamoury + family/community dynamics. The worldbuilding is beautiful, the soundtrack is *cries*. Just...it's such a wonderful game.
Manic (film) There are a lot of films I could choose for this list, but if I can only choose one (bc space) then I think Manic is a good pick. It's the 2001 indie film with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zooey Deschanel, Don Cheadle, etc, and is set in an adolescent psychiatric ward. This film means a lot to me personally, I'll just leave it at that.
Xandri Corelel series (books) I spoke a bit about why I love the series so much in response to your favourite characters question but to summarise: cool as fuck science fiction series where cool as fuck autistic bisexual polyam protagonist, Xandri, is the head of the xeno-liaisons team. It's got stellar worldbuilding, excellent characters, and explores lots of interesting issues. Also, my favourite book is Tone of Voice (2nd in the series) partly bc its got space whales in it.
Mass Effect (video games) I think by now its pretty clear I love science fiction, so Mass Effect was always gonna be a big hit with me. I actually played Dragon Age first, and then a friend told me I had to play ME. The entire series is just sooooo good for very similar reasons to a lot of my other favourites: well-written, beloved characters, cool ass narrative/s, choice-based, fun FPS moments, cool worldbuilding, sick soundtrack!

Was musing about this on my twitter, but I was thinking about what tragic romantic tropes I love the most. I of course, love a fluffy happily-ever-after romance (maybe I'll do a separate post for that), but I think my tragedy can probably be boiled down into three types.
To kill or be killed by your loved one. (A.K.A Betrayal).
My Girlfriend has become a God/Metaphor.
All that love and what did it get me?
This isn't like, an in-depth character analysis or anything. This is more of an "Oh this hit me in the feels so hard and I keep coming back to them for some reason" sort of thing. Also there are many spoilers in this.
To kill/be killed by your loved one
This started with me seeing the classic Kaworu episode. The idea of falling in love with your enemy, knowing that he must kill you. And then there is the other end with Anthy, killing the person you love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Betrayal can be such a beautiful thing to explore in fiction. I feel often it can make you hate a character, but with Kaworu and Anthy I feel that it made me love them more. It made their relationships with Shinji and Utena so raw and intimate.
My first Dragon Age 2 playthrough actually had a bit of this as well. Because I didn't pick up Fenris' loyalty gift, my Hawke and him had to fight to the death and it was probably one of the most jarring but memorable experiences I had in gaming.
My Girlfriend has become a God/Metaphor
I feel this is a bit different than the "Dead Wife" trope. Dead Wife doesn't necessarily have any substance to them nor do you need to fully understand the depth of the relationship. With "My Girlfriend Became a God/Metaphor", I think you can feel why the characters spiralled the way they did and are trying to bring them back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Simon and Betty, as well as Pearl and Rose make me ugly cry to be honest. Like I can understand why they kind of end up being the worst versions of themselves for awhile. I might too in all honesty.
I wasn't a big fan of Rebellion, but I do think that Homura's desire to basically watch Madoka die over and over again rather than not have her in her life at all is a sort of toxic love that is so fascinating. I am really looking forward to the next movie when it does come out and hopefully continue to expand on it.
All that love and what did it get me?
I love a woman/girl scorned. A lady who loved the wrong person and was made worse because of it. A weirdly stark reminder that love doesn't heal everything. I don't enjoy all jealously stories, but some of these are just... yes. YES.
Tumblr media
Ritsuko Akagi and her mother are two of my favourite characters in Evangelion, largely because they loved a trash man (who does suffer from Dead Wife) who ultimately gave them nothing even though they gave him everything. And what do they do? Try to murder the embodiment of their lover's dead wife, even though she is also suffering immensely by that same man. It's very *Chefs kiss*
Sayaka's unrequited love is another one that gets me (and also makes her my favourite character). Sayaka and Homura are similar in many ways that I'm sure people have already looked into. I think what always made me feel for Sayaka is that at the very least, Madoka loved Homura back, Kyosuke did not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was debating putting Simon and Grace up in the first section, but ultimately felt it was better down here because again, these are not loves you're rooting for and the person is worse because of it. I still cannot believe how dark Infinity Train got and how far they went with Simon's character. Simon and Grace broke my heart into a million pieces and I am glad they did.
Tumblr media
I think the most realistic depiction of just 'loving the wrong person' that is also not due to jealousy is Princess Carolyn and Bojack. A great depiction of power dynamics in a way that hit home (not in my own relationships, but in a few people around me). They were so painful and so good. You can love someone a lot, but that won't necessarily fix them.
I am sure there are many other characters and pairings that I can think of that fall under these tragic romances, but these have taken up a lot of my head space. If you think there is a tragic romance that I haven't watched/read that you think I would like based on this list, lmk!

I WATCHED THE FNAF MOVIE!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Alright time for my honest thoughts on the fnaf movie? Honestly..? I enjoyed it, I think some of the problems I have with a lot of newer fnaf games/media shine through but overall I think it was a solid movie. There’s some things I would’ve done differently personally but it wasn’t bad. I’m okay with it being our fnaf movie. I have a few things as a diehard fnaf fan since the first game that I am a little salty or upset about, but it’s not really the movie’s fault. It’s kinda just how fnaf is nowadays. Some for the better, some for the worst. So some pros (in my opinion. Keep that in mind and if you did really enjoy it that’s great! Like I said it’s a pretty solid movie I just have a frustrations with it or questions about it).
Pros!
I really liked all the characters I think the writing was pretty strong for the most part! A few parts were a little shaky but for the most part I really liked all the characters we got. I liked the characterization of the animatronics especially. I know a lot of people are complaining about “the pillow fort scene” but I actually liked how they did that. I can understand where are coming from with that (i could admittedly see how for some people it takes away from the horror aspect for later scenes) but I like that they gave the animatronics childlike behavior and made them a little sympathetic. I thought it was really cute. I get where people are coming from with that but tbh I think fnaf fans villainize the dead kids WAY too much. So it was nice to have them acknowledge them being kids and acting like that.
The visuals and set were GORGEOUS!!! This cinematically had some really strong scenes and I could gush about the practical effects for hours. The animatronics looked beautiful and I have almost no complaints visually about it. I also liked some of the YouTube cameos and how they weren’t too in your face. The only one I found kind of immersion breaking was matpat’s to be honest. Just cause his line felt kind of forced but it was a quick cameo so I can forgive that. Truthfully I didn’t even realize it was him till he said that so.
William fucking Afton bro.. Oh my god when I tell you Matthew Lillard absolutely ate this role up.. like my god. I knew he was gonna be good but he was absolutely iconic. He’s probably one of my favorite depictions of William Afton to date. His delivery, his mannerisms. It was (chef’s kiss). The springlock suit (WHICH ILL BE SO FR I DID NOT THINK THEY WERE GOING TO PUT THE SPRINGLOCK SUIT IN THE MOVIE MY JAW DROPPED WHEN THAT HAPPENED) scene is probably one of my favorites in the movie. When Cassidy(?) watches him just like dying and closes the door on him. Chills. I though that whole part was really well done. I wish the springlock sounds were a little louder but regardless I think they found a way to capture the horror of the springlocks while not making it too intense. Some people will find that as a con but I personally think it’s a pro because I would say this movie is a general audience film. There’s some very disturbing or unsettling parts but I think this is actually somewhat of a good gateway to horror film for younger audiences.
As goofy and kinda dumb as the cupcake looked at times I honestly love that he got so much screen time. I love that guy. Cupcake is underrated even if a bit silly.
I lost my shit when the FNAF 1 song played at the credits. I was SO excited. I’m really happy for TLT that his music got up on the big screen too. I cant imagine how cool that is.
Now for in my opinion what the cons are:
My biggest issue with this movie is the plot. And I know a lot of people are going to say “it’s a different timeline!” Or “it’s based on the books”. I would have no problem with that except for the fact that we still know nothing about the Afton family after all these years. I was really hoping (although I was aware it was going to be a different storyline) they would’ve kept Abby, Michael, and Garett Aftons. Because even if I just isolate the movie itself from the games, it just makes more sense. The way William acts when he first reads Mike’s name, The fact William would’ve had to gone out of his way to go to Nebraska and specifically target Garett. The film takes place in Minnesota, the pizzeria is there. Why is William Afton in Nebraska? It doesn’t make sense. Now, the only OTHER explanation I can think of for this is that Michael, Abby, and Garret are Emilys or the movie’s Emily equivalents. Even though I have some problems with this I will say I don’t entirely hate Vanessa being an Afton in this. It’s an interesting idea and the dynamic is alright. Truthfully I wouldn’t have a problem with any of this but this is a problem that I keep having with FNAF as a whole. FNAF keeps actively refusing to acknowledge any Afton that isn’t William (and sometimes Elizabeth in the books). And I don’t understand why? I don’t understand the aversion especially considering Michael was the protagonist for so many of the games. He is SUCH an interesting and important character and I was so deeply disappointed to find out he wasn’t an Afton in this universe because we finally had some kind of characterization of him (that I really loved tbh). I think it’s just frustrating as a longtime fan there are so many questions that go completely unanswered for no reason. Knowing things like the crying child’s name is something that has no real relevance on the plot and yet we still are refused a direct answer. I don’t mind a bit of mystery but when it’s been almost a decade and we still know nothing about half the games’ main protagonist. I have a little bit of an issue with this tbh. I wasn’t actually expecting this movie to have Mike and Abby be Aftons actually, but the way WATCHING the movie led me to start to believe that got me excited. Maybe that’s just a me problem.. Then the reveal happened and I was left kind of scratching my head. I think FNAF does that a lot, to me at least.
I also think having Vanessa be an Afton, although interesting is kind of a disservice to her character. Vanessa is a character I have found really interesting since she was first announced. I don’t have an issue with her being in this movie at all. In fact I really liked her in this movie. If you’re gonna do a different timeline thing then that’s fine. But I think it’s kind of a disservice to her to make her an Afton, I like the idea of there being another fnaf character who stands on her own. I wish in security breach they kept alot of the FNAF:AR stuff cannon that was established. I feel like they did nothing with her character in Security Breach which SUCKED because I think her whole character is so interesting and I would’ve loved to have seen more of a characterization of her in this movie. I hate this idea of making everyone related to Afton it feels lazy. The theories with Vanessa and Gregory being Aftons I really don’t like. They’re fine characters on their own, if you want to focus on Aftons then just focus on the Aftons! There’s so many questions unanswered about them that you easily could still do something with them. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again I have no problem with Security Breach existing EXCEPT that it should be it’s own story with no relation to the old storyline. It could’ve been a really solid Sci-Fi type game especially with the DLC that came out. Afton shouldn’t be there.
I keep talking about this problem with ‘modern day fnaf’ so what is it? What is the problem that affects even this movie? Well I’ll tell you, FNAF constantly changes. Things are things added to the lore making it more confusing and convoluted (which to be fair has been a problem wayyy before SB even with some of my favorite titles in the series), and imo it makes it almost impossible for new fans to join. As an older fan who is fairly active indulging in FNAF I can barely can keep up. I know a lot of people like the convoluted and insane lore and to some extent so do I. But it’s gotten to the point where I feel a little bit of disappointment after each game and a little after the movie. I’m okay with mystery and theorizing, in fact it’s one of my favorite parts about FNAF! But having been here for so long and I still feel like we never get any answers or we’re ALWAYS left with more answers. It gets frustrating. I don’t want everything to be answered but lately every FNAF game and piece of media has left me with more questions than answers. To the point I think it affects the main plot. I also want to say it’s very hard to keep up with everything. I don’t have the money for the books or the time to read all the books and I don’t understand the whole “it’s not canon to the game lore but we’re gonna put it in there anyways!”. I don’t know. To be honest I wouldn’t have AS much as a problem with it if it was actually separate, but even though it’s stated to be it keeps seeping into the game storyline. I don’t necessarily think it’s bad to bring something like the mimic in, but it’s kind of upsetting when I watched the movie and felt there were more references to the books than the games. I was disappointed there was no ‘hello? Hello?’ Or freddy nose honk, or just a few things that are really iconic to the game. I thought the sparky being canon thing was awesome though! That was a real treat. But I do think the silver eyes was a good idea to take inspiration from. But again I also don’t understand why they wouldn’t just make a silver eyes movie? Idk I guess it’s just frustrating having been here so long and if someone asked me to explain FNAF there’s really no way of giving a set summary. Hell, even most of the “lore” explanation videos half of it isn’t even canon or confirmed. It’s just speculation or ‘a theory’. I love this franchise a lot and I guess it’s just kind of upsetting for it to be a struggle now to understand and keep up with everything. Especially when I used to find it really fun to try and do so, and now I just feel like there’s no payoff to it. And that it’s just way too confusing and overwhelming. Maybe there never really was a payoff? Or maybe it always an issue? I mean FNAF has had like 4 different ‘endings’ and then kept going. Idk I think just.. having been waiting for this movie for 8 years and it leaving me with a somewhat similar feeling after I finished security breach, I’m a little disappointed. That being said…
I will say, overall the movie itself was a little better than i expected to be honest. Which I’m very happy about My expectations for this movie were to have a good time and have a fun campy horror flick. I pleasantly surprised in a lot of areas and most of my gripes with it are kind of just my gripes with how fnaf has been as a franchise. All my criticisms of this movie and franchise are out of love and wanting the best for this series. Seriously, this series means the world to me. Most of my really close and best friends I met through FNAF, and some of my fondest memories are FNAF related. Even if the movie and franchise aren’t perfect and I have a lot of frustrations with it, I’m glad after 8 years of hearing about this movie I finally got to see it. Kid me would be absolutely over the moon right now. A part of me is. Despite its flaws I’m really proud to see how much this franchise has grown. FNAF you’re not perfect, not even close, but you mean a lot to me. Im glad you made it to the big screen after all this time :>
