Still thinking about ModernGurlz’s review on Moana 2, she says the weird undertone between Moana and Maui was impossible to ignore (and she prefers they give Maui a romantic interest so the tension would dissipate) and I’m curious if she was referring to the shippers in the fandom (cause the ship exists back in 2016 when the first movie came out) or did she genuinely think the tension was hard to ignore, cause as a shipper myself who likes to see things objectively it wasn’t that hard to ignore
