Rupert and Simon deviation dates theory
⚠️I ain't here to change canon, but like i did with Hank's timeline backstory i'd like to make some observations about these 2 dates in particular.
So, as people may know both Rupert and Simon, according to the game's date, are basically one of the oldest deviants we know of, being from the 2036 wave. We know it's a probable deviancy-related date cuz when androids deviate 'em tracker stops working, meaning no one is able to track 'em down using geolocation anymore.
But have in mind that by "reported" shouldn't really mean it's the exact time/date they deviated, it's the date they were reported missing by the owner - meaning they maybe deviated hrs or even days before.
So we have:
Rupert being gone by 11th October 2036
Simon being gone by 16th February 2036.
If you've been around DBH for quite some time, u must have noticed a couple of papers unused and used inside the game reference the year 2036 (and maybe 2035), such as these ones:
Even how we had a whole presidential elections during the game's events:
(be aware that dbh was always 20 yrs in the future since it's based on Kara's tech demo, so while 2056 would make more sense in how the tech is advanced it was never really 2056, just a concept)
That's cuz the game was originally set in 2036
And makes sense since the first glimpse of the game we see is in the E3 2016 (and DBH setting is always 20yrs in the future, it's the reason why Kara's model release date is in 2032, a reference to Kara 2012), with Connor's The Hostage trailer and the interview with David Cage. It's likely in that period (2016) no one knew if the game would be released in 2018 or not (meaning 2038 setting).
The thing is, when changing the game to 2038 (since the game released in 2018) some small objects still date 2036 cuz it's really not that relevant for the overall context of the story, and that's why I think some dates also remained unchanged when the game was changed to be set in 2038.
"But Marcus, wtf does it gotta do with Rupert and Simon deviation dates?"
Have u ever noticed we know absolutely nothing about 2036 deviants? Not a single mention? But we hear about 2037 ones:
But let's pretend this is set in 2036, it'd mean some cases happened in (probably late) 2035 - another year mentioned by the game in some objects and it makes sense since the game was also in dev during 2015.
Also noticed how Rupert only removes his LED 2 yrs later? U would think deviants eventually remove the LED not much time after deviation so they don't become targets.
"Ah, but maybe Rupert always used his cap to hide the LED"
And he curiously only had issue with people seeing his LED 2 yrs later, in the same day we're investigating?
And Simon? We know absolutely a bunch of nothings about him even tho he's supposed to be one of the oldest. But maybe he's indeed one of the oldest we actually meet:
-> Imagine instead of 2036, we have 2038 as both Rupert and Simon's "reported missing" dates
Now we have:
Rupert being gone by 11th October 2038
Simon being gone by 16th February 2038.
It makes the timeline shorter for Rupert, makes this "empty" timeline from 2 yrs to around a month instead - and would make sense an android would try hiding like this without removing the LED but eventually the plan going to shit. Same thing with Simon: it also makes this entire empty timeline shorter, but he'd still be one of the oldest of the Jericho crew we meet in November.
⚠️I'm disconsidering the possibility DBH's timeline was different in the "month" sense, such as not being November but early/later or in a span of different months maybe even going back to early 203X
Let's also remember about 2 important factors:
Daniel's deviation is supposed to be a big deal in the timeline. Ofc there are rumors that his case happened in September or October instead. Judging by the cut dialogues from Partners where people react to the events while watching TV, the Hostage situation and the Bar scene were supposed to be closer in timeline. No matter if Daniel's deviation was originally in October or September, there's still the possibility it was what showed deviancy cases were happening more frequently in this period, or maybe even what encouraged more androids to deviate somehow, it was live on TV.
Deviancy cases started becoming frequently reported in early 2038, and even more frequent with time (let's set a pointer here), spreading all across the country. Most cases we analyze as Connor are androids that deviated "recently", and it's mostly the months September and October (with androids such as North, for example).
"But if were the case we'd see at least Rupert's "reported missing" file since it's from October"
Yes, but since they didn't change the date, it's likely Rupert (and Simon) remained a 2036 thing, meaning we won't see as Connor here cuz the game only shows recent reports.
OR
Another thing that may be an issue is Rupert's his case was 50% cut. We were supposed to track him in a pet shop homicide, and that's how we'd somehow end up at this apartment, and explains why there's a lot of thirium in the apartment's sink - he was damaged. So since this was always one of the main cases we'd have in the story it'd explain why we don't see the report in the terminal.
"Ah, but Rupert and Simon are just reported missing, doesn't mean they considered it was deviancy case back in 2036"
If that were the case, we wouldn't have this specific dialogue:
It means that all reports related to androids weird things (no matter if suspected deviancy or not) date back 9 months, meaning first half of February. If the relevant sus cases were only the ones after Daniel, we wouldn't have reports from before August on Hank's desk. But wanna know what android deviated in February? Simon, IF his disappearance was reported in 2038 instead of 2036.
And let's be honest: for some reason all the "Reported missing" cases probably ends up in Hank's desk even tho they could be just stolen cases, but they found it suspicious enough to give it to Hank, considering what happened few months before. Ofc the ones after Daniel's case would make things more suspicious, but disapperance cases seem to be the most common type of android report and such cases were likely in Connor's "first dates back nine months". Daniel's case just made everything in general sus enough to end up in Hank's desk, even cases that were reported earlier that year or even 2037.
U would think a report from 2036 would be there too, and it'd maybe even give Connor a context that deviancy was already a thing more than 2 yrs before the investigation - and he'd ofc comment on that.
"But Marcus, Rose said she had a deviant with her in 2037 and we don't see any mention in the reports. It means Connor doesn't mention before-2038 cases, what could justify why we have no 2036 mentions, meaning Rupert and Simon could've indeed deviated in 2036"
Like i said in the beginning of the post: i ain't trynna change canon or even affirm it's a timeline error in a game with timeline inconsistencies. In the game Rupert and Simon deviated in 2036: fact, period. What i'm showing is a possibility that maybe it could've been 2038 instead cuz the game was originally set in 2036.
"But Marcus, what if they put 2036 for the 2038 version, meaning the 2036 version would be 2034?"
Then i really don't know, but there ain't no mentions to "2034 & androids deviating" at all in the game. I ain't saying it didn't happen, i'm saying that the dates being 2036 matches with the game's original 2036 year, and these ones seem unchanged, different from other date texts they probably changed to 2038 in late dev.

Doom the Way id Did: The Lost Episodes
Game: Doom Year: 2012-2016 (final relase) Source Port: ZDoom / Eternity to play them all together Specs: E1M1-E1M9; E2M1-E2M9; E3M1-E3M9; E4M1-E4M9; E5M1-E5M0; E6M1-E6M9 Gameplay Mods: None Authors: various idgames | doomwiki | onemandoom
DtwiD generated a lot of buzz and a ton of people made maps for the project. Some of these got spun off into things like the wonderful No End In Sight and the deceased PhobosDeimos1 had his twelve contributions published as PhobosDemos Anomaly. The Lost Episodes gathers the vast majority of the works that didn't make the final cut into a six-episode package for Maximum OG Doom.
The first three episodes are patterned after the original Doom for a Phobos-Demos-Inferno feel. Given that E4 was not officially part of the original project's mission statement, DTWID:LE's E4 is a mixture of works that people made for the prospective E4 as well as holdover E3-style maps. E5 is a bonus techbase episode for KDitD fans and is also available as a separate PWAD for folks who want to play it in DOOM.EXE. E6 is a cavalcade of boss arenas.
There's a reason that these levels didn't make it into DTWID and the reason is because these maps are all awesome in their own way. Like NEIS, a few of these maps (E1M8, E3M9, and E4M6) were specifically designed during the dead-dog party of DTWID's aftermath. "Mourning Halls" (E4M6) has a lot of mixed energy about it as it's the main reason that an official release of LE took so long and it's a huge, epic E4 map that either steals the show or grinds the pace of your easygoing Doom session to a halt. In any case, if you're a fan of the original Doom, then you absolutely need to give this megaWAD a play.

Happy 12th Anniversary, Wreck-It Ralph fandom!
Happy Birthday to this fandom! On this day in 2012, the first trailer for Wreck-It Ralph debuted at E3 and we got our first sneak peek into the world of Litwak's Arcade. This was the establishment of the movie's fandom, and where the speculation and anticipation began!
As is my personal tradition every year, I'd like to thank all of the Wreckling friends I've made in this fandom for their support, the great times we've had together, and all the creative works we (and WIR) have all inspired each other to make! And of course a big thanks to the cast and crew of the movie for making something so extremely special to me, which brought me together with good friends in continued appreciation of the characters, story, and world of the arcade.
It's been a pretty interesting year so far, with appearances of the Core Four and King Candy/Turbo in Speedstorn and the latter in Magic Kingdoms, as well as some merchandise and never-before-seen WIR concept art and storyboards from story artist Jed Diffenderfer. I wonder if this is a coincidence or if there's something special on the way?
It makes me happy to still see so much love in this fandom after all this time! Here's to us celebrating many more anniversaries together!

Obscure Far Cry Promos and Content
I'm a big far cry fan, which means I have to make my own food in this economy. But sometimes I just want some ACTUAL canon or canon-ish or even just canon-adjacent content, y'know? It has gotten to the point I go into youtube rabbit holes or watch a remarkably below average hallmark movies for 5 minutes of an actor's screentime to hopefully hear Jason or Ajay or whoever talk. And so in these quests, I've found a couple obscure promos. Gonna compile them here for myself mostly :)
Far Cry 3
Far Cry 3 - The Voices of Insanity: Doctor Earnhardt //a live action video with Alec Earnhardt's VA
Far Cry 3 - The Voices of Insanity: Vaas //same thing but with Michael Mando
Hoyt Audition Far Cry 3 //the last part of "The Voices of Insanity" videos, couldn't find the one from Ubisoft's own account but someone else had posted it on youtube
Far Cry 3 for PS3: TV Spot
Far Cry 3 -- Island Survival Guide: Psychopaths, Drugs & Other Dangers // video narrated by Willis Huntley
Far Cry 3 -- The Savages: Vaas & Buck // this video shows a rare render of vaas with tataus on his arm!
Far Cry 3 | The Tribe: Citra & Dennis //this video has a deleted scene where Jason hallucinates the tatau snaking up his arm
Far Cry 3 -- The Tyrant: Hoyt
Far Cry 3 - Insane Edition // this is a promo done for a special edition for the game, Michael Mando probably couldn't shoot the promo himself and just voice acted, and so they used another actor and made it so the camera never sees Vaas's face.
^ There is also a survival guide titled Face Your Insanity written by post-Rook events Jason Brody as part of the Insane Edition.
Far Cry 3 | E3 2012 Step Into Insanity Trailer [NORTH AMERICA] // this has a few close-ups of Jason and Vaas switching places with each other
Far Cry 3 Interviews (via @lulu2992)
Far Cry 3 Tweets by Jeffrey Yohalem, the lead writer. (also compiled by @/lulu2992! Thanks again!)
Far Cry 4
Divya Kandala's Blog (archived on the Wayback Machine) // Divya Kandala is a fictional journalist who wrote a blog about her travels to Kyrat, her blog's basically world-building promo for FC4. You could also find the house she stayed at in Kyrat!
Far Cry 4 TV Commercial
Far Cry 4 | Kyrat Tuk Tuk Stories //this is the MOST we see ajay in third person in promo content
Far Cry 4 - CGI Trailer // this isn't exactly RARE but it took forever for me to find that clip of ajay's eyes reflecting from the kukri. plus he looks EXTREMELY caucasian which really doesn't help the rumors I've heard that they originally wanted Jason again as FC4's protag
Comedy Central Far Cry 4 Commercial feat Danny Pudi & Donald Glover
Far Cry 4 and Childish Gambino: The Collaboration | PS4, PS3 // a music video for Crawl by Childish Gambino done as a collab
Old Archive.Org link to the Far Cry 4 webpage that had a choose your own adventure campaign
^ and the youtube video to promote it
Far Cry 4 | Behind the Scene Trailer 1/3 [Europe] // developer vlogs when they visited Nepal and interviewed the ghurka that became base for Golden Path, you can see the village that resembles Banapur a lot!
Far Cry 4 Performance Capture Interview // you can see Janina Gavankar, Amita's actress doing some mocap in this
Janina Gavankar Talks Far Cry 4 - ^ and the interview with her after
World Gameplay Premiere - Walkthrough E3 2014 - Far Cry 4 // this was to showcase gameplay but they eventually took out this entire mission where you have to wingsuit to Ratu Gadhi (Yuma's fortress), which is a shame because it looked very nice.
Far Cry Primal
Primal imo is the most underrated far cry game, you can tell it was made with actual love and care!!
Far Cry Primal TV Spot
Far Cry Primal Trailer Live Action #1 - features a fun time travel concept with medieval era fighting, which some commenters lament as a cool idea for a far cry setting that we'll probably never see
Far Cry Primal Trailer Live Action #2
Far Cry Primal Behind The Scenes - this is the first of a series (i know there's at least 4) in Ubisoft North America's youtube channel
Far Cry 5
i'll be honest, im not a fc5 girlie, so i dont usually do a lot of digging, and im pretty sure these are actually not obscure at all. but these are trailers i found that really blew it out of the park. the marketing team for 5 really went HAM
Far Cry 5: Teaser Trailer | Ubisoft //this has a peggie banging someone's head to a church bell rhythmically with the gorgeous view of Montana mountains as backdrop and i for one, find it hilarious
Far Cry 5 | The Sermon - Live Action Trailer
Far Cry 5 | The Baptism - Live Action Trailer //somebody once mentioned this one has Joseph looking like Trevor GTA and i have never quite known peace ever since. it really also shows the reality of how Joseph is actually just really Unwell, and lore that Joseph killed Pastor Jerome's daughter that never showed up in-game.
Far Cry 5: Anything Can Happen, Everything Will - Live Action TV Spot | Trailer // mixes live action and game CGI renders, pretty cool actually!
The Making of Far Cry 5 | Behind the Scenes of Ubisoft [Documentary]
Far Cry 6 Comics
not gonna put in FC6 stuff because they're actually very easy to find! lots of trailers and mocaps and interviews on youtube :) Far Cry 6 actually has a more obscure lore in their comics
Far Cry: Esperanza's Tears comic // this is a Juan-centric prequel comic that features a completely new country, lore about Far Cry universe's political landscape, and lots of cameos from 3-6's characters! very interesting read especially if you're a sucker for backstories like me
Far Cry: Rite of Passage comic // this is more popular as it features Anton telling Diego the backstories for 3-5's villains.
There is also a book titled The Official Far Cry Survival Guide written by a fictional character called Hunter Nash, who supposedly grew up with Hope County-level of a doomsday prepper dad and winds up as a journalist who travels to the locations of 3-6 and wrote how to survive each location accordingly. It's adorned with official artwork of the games and plenty of survival tips. Not much lore-wise, but cool nonetheless! it also fuels my co-workers au ideas but that's personal.
i have actually found stuff like a really old MTV show called Undressed with Gianpaolo Venuta where he uses his Jason voice for his character, and how Patrick Kwok-Choon, the new voice actor for Ajay does voice acting in Thomas the Train Engine and Paw Patrol, and an indie movie with Greg Bryk where he wears fun sunglasses like Joseph, but that's neither here nor there to the franchise, so eh. // i'll edit this post if i find more, so maybe check back sometimes!

MCU Timeline: Fury's Big Week
Fact-checking the MCU Timeline: Phase One
Now that we've covered what the movies say about when the events took place, we'll look at the timeline of Fury's Big Week.
For those who don't know what this thing is: it's a f*cking mess a connection of 3 movies (The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 and Thor) based on the idea that they all happened at the same time (in the same week). The guy who came up with this idea is Brad Winderbaum, now the Head of Streaming, Television and Animation at Marvel Studios. And his idea basically ruins the timeline because it contradicts the aforementioned films.
What does Big Week tell us? That all three major events, based on the only date we know for sure (Tony's birthday - May 29), happened in May-June of some year. Which year exactly, Marvel couldn't decide due to their own mistakes in Iron Man 2. But in the end, they came to 2010.
Here are the actual timelines of the Phase 1 movies (according to the movies themselves):
IM1 part 1, IM1 part 2, IM1 part 3, IM1 part 4 (Feb-May 2008) The Incredible Hulk (Aug-Oct 2009) IM2 part 1, IM2 part 2 (May-June 2010) Thor (Nov 2011) Captain America: The First Avenger (Jun 1943-Apr 2012) The Avengers (May 2012)
As you may have noticed, none of these movies take place at the same time.
Let's zoom in and compare dates using timelines from the movies and all the sources that are considered canon on the Big Week: - The tie-in comics "Fury's Big Week". The source of the problem. - Connections in the movies. The second source of the problem. - Official timelines. There are several official timelines, and they are all different. - What If? Season 1, episode 3. By definition takes place in another universe. But I have something to say about that too.
Here is a table that compares FBW across various available sources. Red is where the timelines contradict themselves internally.
As you can see, when I said, "It's a fucking mess," I wasn't exaggerating.
The new official timeline avoids specific dates or time periods, listing "spring 2010" for all "events of Fury's Big Week," narrowing it down to only the "unspecified date" of Tony's birthday and that it all happened after May 5. And then it does this:

Ahem...

The idea itself was good, to give Fury a hell week by combining these three movies. But the execution was disappointing, completely disregarding what was shown in these individual movies.
So, what do we have:
If FBW is canon, all three movies couldn't possibly be from the same timeline.
Fury's Big Week tie-in is incompatible with any of the 3 movies. So it couldn't have happened in any of the timelines. Thus, it creates its own timeline separate from the movies. And What If S1:E3 is a branch of this separate timeline, rather than the movie timeline/s.
Okay, but what about the connections between the movies? We only have a few, and I can explain them without FBW.
There is no actual connection to IM2 or Thor in The Incredible Hulk. Only the post-credit scene with Ross and Tony reveals that "they are in the same universe", but it only tells us that this scene takes place after the events of the movie. That's all.
The only connection Thor has is its connection to IM2 through Coulson, who traveled from Malibu to New Mexico to find Mjolnir.
IM2 has the same connection to Thor. The movie itself only says that Coulson was "reassigned to New Mexico," without specifying the reason. And the reason could be anything. Post-credits scenes do not necessarily show what happens immediately after the last scene of the movie. It could easily be a year later.
This:
is not a connection, because the southwest region problem (Thor) hasn't happened yet, according to all the sources.
So we can, with a clear conscience, fix our timeline by splitting it and removing this stupid idea from it. This way we can get past the absurdities of Fury's Big Week without too much loss.
---
Marvel Studios and the people they hired to write the timeline created a mess. And the reason for all these mistakes is simple - they didn’t think.
And I just want to say: Marvel, including this connection in your several movies without checking WHEN EXACTLY THEY HAPPENED was a huge mistake that ruins your entire timeline. It's not the death of the Anchor Beings that does this, it's your fuck ups. Simply because you're not taking it seriously and not paying attention to what you're doing. When you came up with this Big Week, you only had two movies. TWO. How much work is that?! Now you have a whole bunch of different MCU timelines. Enjoy.

Deleted dialog from Far Cry 3’s main story
Part 31: Bonus unreleased and early content
There also were a few deleted lines from Buck that don’t appear in oasisstrings. They’re about a man, who’s “at the docks” and whom he wants Jason to kill for him, as well as take a picture of his face once he’s dead. You can listen to them here.
Aside from the ones I’ve already linked to in the posts, you can find more deleted cutscenes with Dr. Earnhardt here:
Recipe 1
Recipe 2
Recipe 3
Recipe 4
The dialog from these cutscenes isn’t transcribed in oasisstrings, sadly.
As mentioned in Part 9, Dr. Earnhardt also narrates the first Gameplay Trailer, which contains dialog and scenes that aren’t in the game. Some of his lines were probably just recorded for the trailer, but it appears that others could have been in Far Cry 3 and were eventually cut.
In fact, you can see what his first scene could have looked like in this gameplay sequence. It also features more deleted dialog from Jason, played by another actor, and Willis, who mentions Vincent (more details about him in Part 20).
I’ve mentioned the Burning Hotel Escape Gameplay video in Part 8 because it contains an early version of one of Jason’s deleted lines, but what’s also interesting about it is that Liza says, “They took Vince” instead of, “They took Oliver”. It seems their friend Vincent used to be in this mission instead.
In the Official E3 2012 Single Player Walkthrough, the fight against Vaas is a little different. When he asks Jason to shoot him, for a brief moment, right before the gunshot, he changes and turns into Jason. This isn’t the case anymore in the game.
Ubisoft also posted Liza’s Ransom Video, and even though the lines are nearly identical, this is clearly another take. Here is another early version of the video, and you can watch the high-quality in-game version here as well.
This recording from an early version of Far Cry 3 reveals there could have been another character named Umberto. I found what was probably his in-game description in oasisstrings:
Visit Umberto to explore exotic locations and situations and find the lost Chinese treasure.
Finally, you can watch a prototype version of the introduction here, and there’s a very early version of Jason’s final monologue here.
A lot of the videos I’ve just linked above were compiled in this playlist that contains even more early content, if you’re interested.
And if you know of other similar videos or have more unreleased Far Cry 3 content to share, don’t hesitate to do it! :)

What if...? S2 E3 review:
This episode was also just one big Diehard reference, the real title should have been "What if... Diehard, but with superpowers"
This episode gives off such 2012 era "everyone lives in the tower" fanfics, lol. From the tower having a dedicated karaoke floor, yoga floor, gym floor and a room that has all the materials for the costumes.
Even the dynamics of all the characters such as the Steve-Tony rivalry, them doing charity work that is sometimes silly, Natasha being on mission and Thor just popping in at the end... All 2012 era Avengers fics nostalgia.
Also it seems like Tony drops all of his "interns" on Happy to deal with, man cannot catch a break when it comes to dealing with chaos children.
It's also very appropriate that the Christmas episode features Jon Favreau, lmao nice.
Justin Hammer is just a delight as always. Bro, thinks he's Tony's greatest enemy and 100% fully believes this delusion. I missed this man so much... bring him back in Iron Heart or Armor Wars (if that's still happening) please.
Side note; but Happy's "Hulk" looks like that knockoff, off brand movie "The Amazing Bulk" Which I'm pretty sure was intentional.

I also love the implication that Tony has been working on E.D.I.T.H for a long time, not just after their defeat at the hands of Thanos. Since E. D. I. T. H is a failsafe protocal if he died, he probably started working on it post battle of New York in the first Avengers movie. This man doesn't go to therapy he goes to his lab to make A.Is that are very dangerous if it got into the hands of the wrong people *cough* Mysterio *cough* Damage Control *cough*
Final Score: 8.5/10.
I know not many people like these more lighthearted episodes, but I enjoyed it all the same.
