Tumblr media
dont ask me what this look has to do with mermaids, to me its just a very mermaidcore look 🤣🤣🤣 and Emrata is UBP moon
3.Gana in Vedic astrology represents one’s nature. There are 3 types of ganas: Deva Gana (Divine), Rakshasa Gana (Demonic) and Manushya Gana (Human). now obviously not everyone with deva gana naks are going to be the nicest people ever, your gana is about what you project, people with deva ganas are perceived to be good people whereas those with rakshasa gana are either known for being shrewd and cunning or in some cases, have a really terrible reputation/other generally dislike them or may see them as "fake".
Rakshasa Gana: Ashlesha, Krittika, Mula, Dhanistha, Chitra, Magha, Vishakha, Jyestha and Shatabhisha
Deva Gana: Mrigashirsha, Ashwini, Revati, Punarvasu, Pushya, Swati, Hasta, and Anuradha.
Manushya Gana: Rohini, Bharani, Ardra, Shravana and Purvaphalguni, Purva bhadrapada, Uttarabhadrapada and Uttaraphalguni
Actors who have played Angels in movies often have deva gana nakshatras.

Shatabhisha sun Peter Fonda plays the Devil in Ghost Rider
Tumblr media
Magha sun Robert De Niro plays the Devil in Angel Heart
Tumblr media
Vishaka Sun Tom Ellis plays Lucifer in Lucifer
Tumblr media
Chitra stellium, Viggo Mortensen, plays the Devil in The Prophecy
5. Mrigashira & Rohini both have serpent yoni. the lore of UBP and Ashlesha also features serpents heavily. needless to say, these natives are often depicted with serpents in the media.
In vedic astrology, your yoni animal is said to represent the way you express your sexuality and sexual desire. Serpent yoni natives are known for their intense, hypnotic sensuality and they crave for very passionate, fervent and often, extreme sexual experiences.
Tumblr media
Elizabeth Hurley has Mrigashira sun & mercury with Rohini jupiter and rahu.
Tumblr media
Jennifer Lawrence has Ashlesha sun & Mrigashira moon
Tumblr media
Devon Aoki has Ashlesha sun. She has also spoken about growing up with pet snakes.
Tumblr media
Salma Hayek has UBP moon and Ashlesha venus atmakaraka. speaking of filming this scene, Salma has often said that due to her phobia of snakes, she went into a trance to perform her sensuous dance. if you've watched this scene, you'll see how her performance has an almost serpentine quality to it, she moves in a very hypnotic and captivating way.
Tumblr media
Rohini sun, Mrigashira mercury atmakaraka, UBP mars, Angelina Jolie with a snake.
Jolie has openly spoken about experimenting with BDSM and how much she likes knife play and what-not. Serpent yoni, sexual freakishness at its best (add to it, her Revati moon, another nak known for being sexually strange lol). She also had pet snakes growing up.

The Devils I Know - Number 13
Welcome to “The Devils I Know!” For this spooky time of year, from now till Halloween, I’ll be counting down My Top 31 Depictions of the Devil, from movies, television, video games, and more! Today I present to you all…Two Devils for the Price of One! Number 13 is a tie between Peter Cook from Bedazzled (1967) AND Elizabeth Hurley, from Bedazzled (2000).
Tumblr media
The 1967 film “Bedazzled” is widely regarded as a British cult classic. It’s 2000 American remake is much the same. Both tell the same basic story, but they do so in very different ways…and with two very different Devils. Both films focus on the adventures of a socially inept, dead-end-job working man, who longs for love and success. The Devil appears before the man, and offers him a bargain: in exchange for his mortal soul, the Devil will grant the man seven wishes (“one for each sin”). The man tries to use this bargain to better his life and snag the girl of his dreams, but each time there’s a loophole that causes his new life to become an utter nightmare. In the end, the man comes to realize that simply wishing for good things won’t make them happen: sometimes, it’s best to work with what you have in life, and find courage in your own self.
The 1967 version stars Dudley Moore as the poor guy who gets conned by the Devil, named Stanley Moon. Meanwhile, Peter Cook – Moore’s frequent onscreen co-star – plays the role of the Devil, who goes by the alias “George Spiggott.” This film you can essentially call a Monty Python Faust, as the sense of humor has that strange, bizarre sensibility many English comedies of the time have and had (including MP). However, there’s also a lot of interesting points raised in it about faith and virtue. Cook’s Devil is a scoundrel, but a very loveable one; he never really comes across as a total dastard, but more just a sort of roguish troublemaker. The way he describes himself and his conflict with God matches this: according to Spiggott, he simply got bored of God getting all the kudos and praise, and felt perhaps it was time to change a few things. God – being God – disagreed and cast him out. Spiggott is classy and yet crooked, with a slightly childish, immature side to his personality; he actually reminds me a little bit of a later Devil, Tom Ellis’ Lucifer, in terms of his mannerisms and overall sense of style. This is essentially Willy Wonka as the Devil: eccentric, unusual, at times seemingly dangerous, but you can never really feel frightened of him.
Tumblr media
The 2000 remake is another story. That one makes a few twists to the formula. This time, Brendan Fraser (FIREFLY WAS ROBBED, JUST THROWING THAT OUT THERE) plays the poor Joe: this time a man by the name of Elliot Richards. The Devil is this film is given no name of her own…she’s just the Devil. And yes, “her” and “she.” We’ve had a couple of female Devils on this list so far, mind you, but the idea of Satan as a woman is actually fairly rare. And, in my opinion, this is probably my favorite example of a female Devil in all of cinema. Portrayed by Elizabeth Hurley, she has the same with and class that Cook’s Devil had, with a similar sense of unusual humor, but now there are two big differences: one, she’s a smokin’ hot babe (and I use that phrase only because you KNOW the screenwriters and casting people had to use it, too), and two, she’s a little more threatening than Cook’s Devil. With Cook’s Devil, when Stanley realizes he may be damned to Hell, it’s hard to really feel just how dangerous the situation is. But with Elliot and Hurley’s Devil, the way things play out and the way Hurley plays things off both really do give you the feeling that this is a Devil who means business, and can do a lot of damage if she so chooses.
Both of these performers and films do one thing very well: they make the Devil just as sympathetic and interesting as the character they offer “help” to. Spiggott’s sense of humor, desire to just go back to Heaven, and even explanation of his reasons for what he does and why, all make him endearing to the audience. As for Hurley’s Devil, the humor is still present, but we also get the feeling she’s not really out to hurt Elliot. Indeed, by the end of the film, the two have become friends, and she actually seems to be on better terms with God: the two are played less as opposing forces, and more as just two sides of the same coin. Between these two films and portrayals, it’s difficult to say which I like more. If you tied me to a chair and forced me to pick, I’d say that the 1967 version of “Bedazzled” is the better movie. It’s funnier, for one thing, and while Hurley and Fraser have a good back-and-forth, NOTHING can compare to the chemistry between Dudley Moore and Peter Cook when it comes to something like this. HOWEVER, HAVING SAID THAT, if I had to choose which of these specific Devils I’d say I like more, I’d probably give the trophy to Elizabeth Hurley. She’s just a lot more unique and has more going on in terms of layers and complexity. Both films and both depictions of the Devil are great though; if you have not seen either of these pictures, check them out as soon as you can.
Tomorrow, the countdown continues with Number 12! HINT: An Operatic Villain…Literally.

beloveddddd [gently cups your face in my hands] tell me about CIFL <3
Tumblr media
HI BELOVED <333
your ticket of admission is a kiss on the forehead <3 as i try to remember what developments have been made since i last talked about it on here...
mmm!!! one that's been haunting me lately (i probably won't actually get around to writing it so i'll share it here): i've been thinking about. well it's an intersection of inspiration from mawce by everybody's worried about owen and a troubled mind by noah kahan but. 22/23 year old maggie (pre-transition donny) going to eli (pre-transition ellie)'s college town— based on the a troubled mind lyrics 'i took a bus out to the city where you live / eaves dropped on strangers' conversations with their kids / in hopes that maybe they'd say something relevant / to ease my worried head'— while in a Weird Headspace (even a manic episode, but more on That later). doesn't get a whole hell of a lot out of it, other than more of The Weird Headspace, especially if (he) sees someone who looks vaguely like eli and/or gets spooked by any deep water around (another point to be elaborated). while somewhat Dissociated in the headspace, makes (his) way down to boston, then to new york, has a mini break in a new york hotel room including shaving (his) head. DOES, then, get home safely and shows up at the hurleys' door— the specificity of new york being important because the shaving of the head leads to (his) hat era and the hat (he) got first says NY on it. marian, god bless her, is a bit shocked at first but. she loves (him) like her own so she fixes the rough/uneven patches of hair, makes sure (he's) well-fed/comfortable, defends (him) when Joseph gets a bit prickly about the whole situation (I HAD ACTUAL DIALOGUE BUT I FORGOR; anyway, i'll elaborate on the prickle AS WELL). lets M— who does want to temporarily go by M since part of the break is gender shit— vent where (he) needs to. and. the part i'm gnawing on the most is, in the morning M's like 'hi annie...' and marian's like 'hi peach :)' because!!! dat baby's a fuzzy little peach right now!!! and. and. joseph, coming to made Some acceptance with the situation, puts a ballcap of his on M's head, probably a chicago cubs cap or something...
ELABORATION 1.) usage of 'manic episode' as i always do, i use the phrasing with careful consideration just because. i know it's not verbage to just throw around. and i use it apprehensively here just because i STILL have not determined whether donny is more bipolar or BPD, but i AM leaning BPD more so. probably in part because of pieces of him that are so very me. but i am also NOT ruling out the possibility just because in some scenes in my head, i can see things that could be a manic or could be a depressive episode. POINT BEING I'M STILL DOING MY RESEARCH AND I'M DOING MY RESEARCH AT ALL, I SWEAR.
ELABORATION 2.) fear of deep water something i really need to do is note all the music inspired lore, particularly the noah kahan inspired stuff. ANYHOW. noah's song fear of water inspired the lore that donny's scared of deep dark water, like any dark parts of lake michigan and for sure the ocean. the other side of the coin (because of course it's a coin) being that ellie was a swimmer in middle school / high school after getting over her own fear of water (inspired by 'you used to be scared of the water / you're safe by the side of your father' from glue myself shut). –– E2a.) naturally, there's a scene in my head related to all of this. in The Awkward Period after ellie moves back— another point for elaboration— what really ends the tension, besides hashing it out, is ellie making him face that fear of the water. not quite fear immersion with, like, going into the depths of the ocean, but taking a dunk in the lake, even against donny's better judgment. and grumbling about it just because it doesn't FULLY reduce the anxiety (just staves it) but he also can't fully complain because if following her word means he's regained some of ellie's trust and bond, then by god he'll do it
ELABORATION 3.) joseph prickliness it prickles me to forget the dialogue i had BUT the main subtext behind it is. prior to donny's transition, he's seen like a daughter to both of the hurley parents, so in some part joseph's always prickly about that, not because he doesn't Want a daughter but because he doesn't know how to have one (not that he knows much about having a son or a kid in general, between him & annie having ellie young-er AND his personality). and it's something he admits to ellie after She's transitioned, saying that he Still doesn't know how to have a daughter. BUT at least he's made an effort in both cases and continues to make an effort for his Blood daughter
ELABORATION 4.) The Awkward Period the awkward period is ALSO music inspired but it's more a conglomerate than anything. like the major components are two song inspired scenes i'll explain in a second but. the general notion with The Awkward Period is that it's a span of a couple months after ellie gets back where things are, well, Awkward. she's trying to handle her grief and readjust to being back home (after four years in vermont, four years in philadelphia) with whatever weird grudge she doesn't understand being held by donny as a cherry on top. and donny's still sifting through said grudge, still compartmentalizing his anger. so it's a lot of tension filled stares and cutting words for a minute –– E4a.) the major component is the Funeral stuff inspired by orange juice... which is particularly the first/last verse with the placing of the setting as a party. in my head it's the wake, everyone choosing to drown their sorrows are drinking, cue joseph & ellie in the kitchen, with donny walking in; the tension is thick as donny and ellie look at each other, and ellie, out of sheer politeness, wants to suggest that there's stuff to mix a drink with. only for joseph to interject that there's orange juice in the fridge for non-alcoholic drinking, which confuses ellie slightly but only because she doesn't know that donny's the lyric of 'and i haven't drank in six months / on the dot'. which does irk donny a bit more in stewing since that means his sobriety is yet Another piece of information that's been withheld from her / that she doesn't know and therefore another piece of him that she hasn't known –– E4b.) the other major component is the hashing out scene. which also has some orange juice inspiration but is mainly homesick (and even a hint of new perspective)... so Given homesick, it's set like two months after the funeral, donny coming over to the hurley (now just joseph's) residence to Try to make some amends, at least lure ellie out to talk some, in the VERY least go on a walk. tries to talk a bit, though superficially, about things she's missed while away, but that sours quickly. sours quickly because it easily falters into orange juice's talking of waiting so long for a homecoming that there wasn't a thought to ask where they had gone (but now asking Why they had gone). and more importantly into the fact of '[doesn't ellie] find it strange that [she] just went ahead and carried on? ... the last time [donny] drank [he] was face down passed out there in [her parents'] yard / are [they] all just crows to [her] now? / are [they] all just pulling [her] down?' WHICH. is where it turns into a hashing out because ellie bites back with the fact that her heart and her soul, more importantly her life, have changed— even the city had changed, but Somehow donny had not. and all of this continues the awkwardness and tension since now they've rubbed salt into each other's wounds, as much as they needed to hear what the other had to say (as general fact And for communication's sake)
because of being on my orange juice insanity, i'm thinking about 'you didn't put those bones in the ground' in relation to how it's worked into the story. and i forgot about 'now i'm third in the line-up to your lord and your savior'... BUT I'VE ALREADY SAID TOO MUCH IN ONE SITTING AS IS (and i haven't even touched other parts of the stick season album, like northern attitude and all my love, or anything else noah-turned-inspiration)... but do tell me if you want more insanity <3 i am willing and able to offer <3

Paralympic champ, 78er among LGBTQIA+ Australia Day Honours
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/paralympic-champ-78er-among-lgbtqia-australia-day-honours/
Paralympic champ, 78er among LGBTQIA+ Australia Day Honours
Tumblr media
A 78er, a Paralympic champion, a HIV/AIDS pioneer, and a longtime community volunteer are among the LGBTQIA+ Aussies recognised in the 2024 Australia Day Honours.
More than 1000 people across Australia have been recognised in the 2024 Honours List for their achievements and service to the community.
Robert French (above centre), a 78er and longtime activist and historian, was awarded for his service to Australia’s LGBTQIA+ community.
A passionate historian and archivist, Robert has worked with organisations including C.A.M.P – the Campaign Against Moral Persecution, NSW Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby, ACON and the Pride History Group.
After police violently broke up the first Mardi Gras march in Sydney, Robert protested in Sydney to demand the release of those arrested.
“On the Sunday morning, I remember hearing the news broadcasts on the ABC of the police riot and hearing both the Police Minister and also the NSW Premier trying to justify what the police did and I got very, very angry,” Robert recalled in 2020.
“Although I’d been a member of the gay community right from 1971, I actually date the Mardi Gras and that morning as the point where I actually became an activist.”
Victoria’s Colin Krycer (below) was also awarded for his service to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Colleagues have paid tribute to Colin’s “many years and countless thousands of hours” of volunteer work for people living with HIV/AIDS initially through the Victorian AIDS Council – now Thorne Harbour Health – since the late 1980s.
Colin has also worked with JOY Media since its launch in 1993 and Jewish community group Aleph Melbourne since 1997.
Congratulations to longstanding volunteer Colin Krycer on being awarded the #orderofaustralia – Colin’s volunteering includes @thorneharbour @alephmelbourne @joy949 and many other community orgs. Well deserved Colin! https://t.co/FnMkoaCqDP pic.twitter.com/vNWmwkmFvJ
— Thorne Harbour Health (@ThorneHarbour) January 25, 2024
“We are so proud of our Colin,” Aleph Melbourne co-convener Michael Barnett said.
“He is a quiet, behind-the-scenes kinda guy. He doesn’t seek or want attention, and just gives of himself, tirelessly.
“Thank you Colin for your commitment, passion, enthusiasm, guidance and sense of humour. We are so much richer for what you do and who you are.”
Australian paralympic champion Ellie Cole also received a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).
In 2021, the queer athlete became Australia’s most decorated female Paralympian, winning 17 Paralympic medals.
Ellie was awarded for her “significant service to sport as an advocate for diversity and inclusion” of Australians with a disability.
“If we can just make small changes throughout our community, and they can have access to anything that they like, the same opportunities as all of their peers, then do they actually have a disability? I’m always asking myself that question,” she told the Guardian in 2021.

Among the medical professionals awarded Australia Day Honours this year are a number of HIV researchers.
Professor Julian Gold was awarded “for significant service to medicine as a clinical epidemiologist and researcher, and to community health” including Australians living with HIV.
Professor Gold was appointed to Australia’s National AIDS Taskforce in 1982. A few years later, he established the first public HIV testing centre, now called The Albion Centre in Surry Hills.
Governor-General David Hurley today congratulated all of the recipients.
“Recipients come from all parts of the country. They have served and had an impact in just about every field you can imagine; their stories and backgrounds are diverse.
“We value their service, thank them for their hard work and selflessness and, today, celebrate them.
“To each recipient: know that you have the thanks and respect of your nation.
“In my experience most are humble and often try to deflect attention or praise – please enjoy the moment because your country has decided that you deserve recognition.”
