Full size only. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Empties that is. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And that’s just the kind of week it’s been. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I ran out of my prescription retinol and I’ve had it for over a year so that’s how long it lasts even when you use it regularly. I’d say it’s worth it. This is a micro-encapsulated Tretinoin which means that it gets released on your skin in a slower dose rather than a lot hitting it all at once. It’s better if you’re trying to avoid irritation but it’s still very very strong and even after a year of it, my skin can’t tolerate it nightly. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I use a more gentle retinol too, and just finished the @trinnylondon Overnight Sensation. This is a retinal so it’s a little stronger than other options but still not as strong as prescription. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I also finished my favourite Maybelline foundation, and this is discontinued. I’ll say that drugstore foundation colours have come a long way and it’s nice that I can find a warm golden colour for my skin pretty easily. I’m switching to Fenty for now, but I do have this in a darker colour which is what I use in the summer. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Alterna Scalp serum! I actually used this. I just massage it into my scalp once a day and it didn’t make my hair greasy either. I think the applicators made it super easy to apply and so I reached for it more than the Ordinary one, but I will go back to using The Ordinary one now. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lastly, the Neem and Tulsi face wash is from the Indian store and the Body Oil is from @chermerebeauty and imported from Trinidad and Tobago. I mixed it with coffee grounds and scrubbed my skin with it weekly and I think you should too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #empties #skincareempties #skincarereviews #skincarecanada #skincareflatlay #flatlay #shelfie #skincareshelfie #makeupempties #emptiesreview #maybellinecanada #trinnylondon https://www.instagram.com/p/Cokop_JvbhP/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

BONESY BONESY HIII BONESY
remembwr when i said this
Tumblr media
i am home now!!!! here is a pic of both shelves
Tumblr media
its a little messy n not well lit.. shelves are a little disorganized too especially the bottom two but its fiine ! lucky star shelf i showed you before is third down on the left. im gonna take better pictures to post here and on mfc once my sega power figure comes in and i move my toga and midari sections around
basic explanation, starting from the top on the left shelf: -combination toga and midari section, with my full ohshc manga set in the back -jiro section, with all my mha manga -lucky star section <333 -misc section, largely demon slayer, w assorted manga -another misc section, kinda where i stuck my least favorite figures LMAO im sorry guys right shelf: -mostly one piece section, partially disgaea section -yamato shrine plus kakegurui section runoff -mainly my edward shrine plus funkos lined up along my tokyo ghoul + tg:re manga sets, but my NSO section is slowly growing. plus miku -hxh section! mostly meruem, komugi, and neferpitou- theyre my 3 favs. couple misc figures next to them too -red box on the right of the lowest shelf is where i stash all my weed LMFAO isnt it a genius spot.. nobody would ever look or suspect. im soo smart.. anyway rest of that is misc manga and its kinda cluttered just pretend you dont see that
speaking of midari and toga sections! here are closeups of both !
Tumblr media
midari section is currently cramped and messy.. usually has kakegurui manga behind it (hence the empty spot) but hunter is borrowing the first few volumes rn so it looks sad and empty :( need to move the midari section to another shelf because it and the toga section next to it are getting too large to coexist on the same shelf anymore they need more room. and speaking of toga section
Tumblr media
wonderful angel.. also getting crowded mostly because banpresto always makes giant ass bases which take up lots of space on shelves </3 take a hint from pop up parade bp your base game SUCKS.
also just now realizing how BADLY tumblr annihilates quality... pls click on the pictures nd zoom in i promiseee they are better quality than that pls..
here is my jiro section !
Tumblr media
gets a whole shelf all to herself (except for the dabi figure.. who is my bookend). im on a quest to get every single (non-gk) figure of jiro EVER made and so far i am missing seven out of sixteen :( most of the rest are trading figures and funkos except for the bellfine scale figure which is hella expensive.. like $100+.. but she will be mine eventually. here are the ones im missing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
top 3 are trading figures, middle is still on preorder i think so it cant be mine yet , jst need to track down the other two somewhere. on the bottom are two of the funkos which are easy to buy but i dont LIKE having funkos and i dont WANT them but because its jiro i have to buy them anyway :/ im just putting it off. i almost ordered the first one the other day but decided to wait for the price to go down a bit. middle one is a gamestop exclusive thats bundled with a t shirt and i could easily buy it rn at, yk, gamestop, but i dont want the t shirt so i gotta buy th funko individually off ebay. last pic on the bottom is the bellfine scale, found it for $90 on a site recently when it usually goes for $120/$130+ so hopefully it'll be mine soon!1 anywayy sorry 4 yapping.. just love jiro will collect all her figures 4ever. wish i could do that for toga but she has too many :( 62 compared to jiro's 16 :( anywayyy more shelfies
the midari section was formerly just the kakegurui section but i had to boot these 3 figures out cause they wouldnt fit:
Tumblr media
mary nendoroid (which i got for a STEAL at $28 unopened, they usually go for like $70 or more), plus mary and yumeko pop up parades (they are holding hands). and next to them:
Tumblr media
yamato section! my beautiful prince yamato! the angle of this one sucks.. wtv. the big figure between the manga is the most expensive figure i've bought so far at $45, not counting the kangel L pop up parade figure i preordered for like $64 (doesnt count cause i dont have it yet). and SPEAKING OF KANGEL...!
Tumblr media
kangel pop up parade!!! i got her yesterday!!! and the goodsmile bonus p-chan (the sad kitty)! put her in front of my nso manga + switch game, im so so happy i got her :3 and i'll be even happier when i get the kangel L figure, which is wayy bigger and imo prettier
anywayy hope you liked my yappings bonesy if you see them n read them.. ^_^ and also anyone else who saw this on their dash and checked it out,, sorry for clogging your dash :(
figures are my passion my love my light my one true joy.. would love to answer any questions u have about them ever. need to take more closeup pictures also bc its so hard to see details in that shitty ass full shelf pic i took.. will take better pictures another time <3 shldve taken a closeup of my hxh section its so good,, or my edward section,, oh well

questions about books! thanks for the tag @stellewriites (And also the people that tagged me in this before I was lazy about it
1. the last book I read
All About Love by Bell Hooks (Technically I listened to the audiobook, but I think it counts.)
2. a book I recommend
Tehanu by Ursula K LeGuin - I'd recommend the whole Earthsea Cycle but Tehanu is particularly gorgeous.
3. a book I couldn't put down
Howls Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones - This is one of my favourite books ever, every time I read it I basically don't stop until it's done. DWJ writes some of my favourite books of all time tbh, mostly children's lit, but like, really good children's lit. I still really enjoy the Chrestomanci Series as well.
4. a book l've read twice or more
There are a lot of books that fit this. If I like a book I'll read it at least twice. Probably one of my most re-read books is actually an anthology called The Golden Book of Faerie by O.R. Melling. It was so influential on my outlook as a writer, Melling just has this really beautiful way of tying the ancient to the everyday that I've always enjoyed. It's technically 4 books and like 1000 pages but I've read it probably 10 times over the years.
5. a book on my tbr
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini - I can't even remember where I came across the recommendation or if I just happened to pick it up during an ebook sale, but it looked really interesting. It's set in Afghanistan and spans from the Soviet Invasion to post-Taliban.
6. a book l've put down
I didn't get very far into Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao but I would like to revisit it sometimes soon. I was just really distracted at the time and I just never picked it up again. But I've heard a lot of good things.
8. a favorite book from childhood
The Tortall Series by Tamora Pierce - Just like, all of them. I've named a lot of old favourites in here already though.
9. a book I would give to a friend
This would depend immensely on the person! I gift books a lot and try to branch away from personal favourites of mine to picks tailored more to them. I'm pretty good at it.
10. a fiction book I own
I own a lot of fiction books lmao. All of the above really.
11. a nonfiction book I own
Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms by Paul Stamets. I got really into mushroom growing a couple years ago. I only own the E-book though. Does it have to be a physical book? I've got a whole bunch about dye plants too
12. what I am currently reading
The Meaning of Freedom and Other Difficult Dialogues by Angela Y. Davis - It's a series of her speeches over the years.
13. what l am planning on reading next
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur - I've just seen her poetry online a lot and figured I should read it. I used to really love poetry so I'm trying to get back into it.
14. my shelfie
Tumblr media
A lot of my books are still in storage so it's still a little empty in here. I have to move the tier stand next to my notebooks because I don't wear makeup anymore and it's just collecting junk.
I think most of my people have been tagged already but I don't think @mi-i-zori has been tagged yet. Also tagging anyone who wants to do this please show me your shelfies

#EMPTYSHELFIE Spookie Shelfie TBR
Empty Shelfie is a year-long reading challenge to empty your incredibly long TBR list. For the Halloween season this month, here are 7 challenges from 7 hosts: Heather at Zether Books, Taylor at Bookish Taylor, Roya at Unicorn Hunter Books, Britt at Britt, Ali at Hardback Hoarder, and Desi at Libri Labra Twitter. Challenges: Serial Killer POV Read a book involving a spell or curse Supernatural/paranormal elements Freakish characters Read a book with a Mask in title or cover Black and orange cover Concept of a person/place/thing that terrifies you
youtube
I'm not a huge fan of horror or supernatural genre, so my TBR will be pretty small, compared to last month. Challenges:
Serial Killer POV - Because You Love to Hate Me by  Ameriie, Renee Ahdieh, Soman Chainani, Susan Dennard, Sarah Enni, Marissa Meyer, Cindy Pon, Victoria Schwab, Samantha Shannon, Adam Silvera, Andrew Smith, April Genevieve Tucholke, Nicola Yoon, Sasha Alsberg, Whitney Atkinson, Tina Burke, Catriona Feeney, Jesse George, Zoë Herdt, Samantha Lane, Sophia Lee, Raeleen Lemay, Regan Perusse, Christine Riccio, Steph Sinclair, Kat Kennedy, Ben Alderson  Best-selling authors working with Booktubers on the perspectives of villians? Yes, please!! Summary: Leave it to the heroes to save the world--villains just want to rule the world. In this unique YA anthology, thirteen acclaimed, bestselling authors team up with thirteen influential BookTubers to reimagine fairy tales from the oft-misunderstood villains' points of view. These fractured, unconventional spins on classics like "Medusa," Sherlock Holmes, and "Jack and the Beanstalk" provide a behind-the-curtain look at villains' acts of vengeance, defiance, and rage--and the pain, heartbreak, and sorrow that spurned them on. No fairy tale will ever seem quite the same again! Featuring writing from . . . Authors: Renée Ahdieh, Ameriie, Soman Chainani, Susan Dennard, Sarah Enni, Marissa Meyer, Cindy Pon, Victoria Schwab, Samantha Shannon, Adam Silvera, Andrew Smith, April Genevieve Tucholke, and Nicola Yoon BookTubers: Benjamin Alderson (Benjaminoftomes), Sasha Alsberg (abookutopia), Whitney Atkinson (WhittyNovels), Tina Burke (ChristinaReadsYA blog and TheLushables), Catriona Feeney (LittleBookOwl), Jesse George (JessetheReader), Zoë Herdt (readbyzoe), Samantha Lane (Thoughts on Tomes), Sophia Lee (thebookbasement), Raeleen Lemay (padfootandprongs07), Regan Perusse (PeruseProject), Christine Riccio (polandbananasBOOKS), and Steph Sinclair & Kat Kennedy (Cuddlebuggery blog and channel).
Read a book involving a spell or curse - One Wish Away by Ingrid Seymour I'm a member of Ingrid's ARC team, but I haven't read her latest works since her first book, Ignite the Shadows back in 2014. So I'm excited to try to get into this one for this challenge.  Summary: Faris is a Djinn with a secret and Marielle the first master to give him hope. Will she be the one to break his curse? There is no telling. All he really knows is she's ONE WISH AWAY from breaking his heart. When Marielle was little, she used to believe Grandpa about his wish-granting Djinn. But now that she’s older, her beliefs have changed, and things like lousy ex-boyfriends and alcoholic fathers have become her reality. Life isn’t done shattering her truths, though, and when Grandpa dies and the Djinn he warned her never to trust shows up at her doorstep, the world becomes a dangerous, magical place she never knew existed. Reeling for her once-normal life, Marielle soon realizes there’s no going back—not when she’s become part of a mortal conflict between two spell-bound Djinn. Faris—her handsome slave. And Zet—his vengeance-hungry brother. They both want something from her. One, her love. The other one, her life. Now she’s afraid she will die in love. One Wish Away is a young adult paranormal romance that will appeal to lovers of Hush Hush, Twilight, and the Fallen series.
Supernatural/paranormal elements - Unreality by Ingrid Seymour (blog tour with Marked by Fate box set, where the book is from) Summary: Ever since she helped solve her mother’s gruesome murder twelve years ago, Meadow Bright has kept her psychic abilities locked away. As a five-year-old, the brutal visions of her mother’s death nearly destroyed her. Now, a senior in high school, she still fears her nature and what opening up could do to her. But when a classmate is found viciously tortured and murdered, her powers return with a vengeance, flooding her mind with new visions and opening old wounds. Worst of all, the new victim wears the signature of her mother’s killer, a man who’s still in jail under a life sentence without parole. It seems that, all those years ago, she made a mistake and helped put the wrong man in jail. Now, she must redeem herself before more people die.
Freakish characters - Shadowshaper by Daniel José Older Summary: Cassandra Clare meets Caribbean legend in SHADOWSHAPER, an action-packed urban fantasy from a bold new talent. Sierra Santiago was looking forward to a fun summer of making art, hanging out with her friends, and skating around Brooklyn. But then a weird zombie guy crashes the first party of the season. Sierra's near-comatose abuelo begins to say "Lo siento" over and over. And when the graffiti murals in Bed-Stuy start to weep.... Well, something stranger than the usual New York mayhem is going on. Sierra soon discovers a supernatural order called the Shadowshapers, who connect with spirits via paintings, music, and stories. Her grandfather once shared the order's secrets with an anthropologist, Dr. Jonathan Wick, who turned the Caribbean magic to his own foul ends. Now Wick wants to become the ultimate Shadowshaper by killing all the others, one by one. With the help of her friends and the hot graffiti artist Robbie, Sierra must dodge Wick's supernatural creations, harness her own Shadowshaping abilities, and save her family's past, present, and future.   Read a book with a Mask in title or cover - Sadly, I can't think of a book that can fill in this prompt, so I'll skip it.
Black and orange cover - Mexican Whiteboy by Matt de la Pena Summary: Danny's tall and skinny. Even though he’s not built, his arms are long enough to give his pitch a power so fierce any college scout would sign him on the spot. Ninety-five mile an hour fastball, but the boy’s not even on a team. Every time he gets up on the mound he loses it. But at his private school, they don’t expect much else from him. Danny’ s brown. Half-Mexican brown. And growing up in San Diego that close to the border means everyone else knows exactly who he is before he even opens his mouth. Before they find out he can’t speak Spanish, and before they realize his mom has blond hair and blue eyes, they’ve got him pegged. But it works the other way too. And Danny’s convinced it’s his whiteness that sent his father back to Mexico. That’s why he’s spending the summer with his dad’s family. Only, to find himself, he may just have to face the demons he refuses to see--the demons that are right in front of his face. And open up to a friendship he never saw coming. Set in the alleys and on the ball fields of San Diego County, Mexican Whiteboy is a story of friendship, acceptance, and the struggle to find your identity in a world of definitions.
Concept of a person/place/thing that terrifies you - The First Hour I Believed by Wally Lamb Not only does the cover haunt me, but the summary does too. Columbine High School shooting? Trauma? PTSD? Whoa...what an experience.  Summary: Wally Lamb's two previous novels, She's Come Undone and I Know This Much Is True, struck a chord with readers. They responded to the intensely introspective nature of the books, and to their lively narrative styles and biting humor. In The Hour I First Believed, Lamb travels well beyond his earlier work and embodies in his fiction myth, psychology, family history stretching back many generations, and the questions of faith that lie at the heart of everyday life. The result is an extraordinary tour de force, at once a meditation on the human condition and an unflinching yet compassionate evocation of character. When forty-seven-year-old high school teacher Caelum Quirk and his younger wife, Maureen, a school nurse, move to Littleton, Colorado, they both get jobs at Columbine High School. In April 1999, Caelum returns home to Three Rivers, Connecticut, to be with his aunt who has just had a stroke. But Maureen finds herself in the school library at Columbine, cowering in a cabinet and expecting to be killed, as two vengeful students go on a carefully premeditated, murderous rampage. Miraculously she survives, but at a cost: she is unable to recover from the trauma. Caelum and Maureen flee Colorado and return to an illusion of safety at the Quirk family farm in Three Rivers. But the effects of chaos are not so easily put right, and further tragedy ensues. While Maureen fights to regain her sanity, Caelum discovers a cache of old diaries, letters, and newspaper clippings in an upstairs bedroom of his family's house. The colorful and intriguing story they recount spans five generations of Quirk family ancestors, from the Civil War era to Caelum's own troubled childhood. Piece by piece, Caelum reconstructs the lives of the women and men whose legacy he bears. Unimaginable secrets emerge; long-buried fear, anger, guilt, and grief rise to the surface. As Caelum grapples with unexpected and confounding revelations from the past, he also struggles to fashion a future out of the ashes of tragedy. His personal quest for meaning and faith becomes a mythic journey that is at the same time quintessentially contemporary -- and American. The Hour I First Believed is a profound and heart-rending work of fiction. Wally Lamb proves himself a virtuoso storyteller, assembling a variety of voices and an ensemble of characters rich enough to evoke all of humanity. ❤The Wreck of Our Hearts❤ ------------------------ ᴀᴠᴀɪʟᴀʙʟᴇ ꜰᴏʀ 99ᴄ ᴏɴ ᴀᴍᴀᴢᴏɴ ᴋɪɴᴅʟᴇ. Link in bio ---------------------------------------------------------- Dasher and Aria. Two people who were broken down by life. Two people whose default setting was self-destruction. Two people who were betrayed by the ones they loved. Two people who refrain from crossing the lines they know they shouldn’t. Aria has spent the last year trying very hard to get over the guy who crushed her heart. While the world thinks that she is being dramatic, Aria cannot escape from the heartache that haunts her like a ghost. Dasher has spent two years trying to get over the death of someone who meant the world to him. While his family thinks that it is high time he move on and stop acting out, Dasher cannot escape the emptiness he feels where the one he loved should be. On a dark night in the middle of Brooklyn Bridge, an accident brings both these broken souls together. They form a pact to hold each other up, no judgments, no questions. But love is a fickle beast that creeps up on even the most unsuited couples. Aria and Dasher think they have moved past the insecurities and the drama, but fate has other plans. Aria and Dasher… Two people who were better off not meeting. Or so they thought… US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BTYC5DC #teaser #mustread #bookstagram #romance #newadult  #heartbreak  #writersfollowwriters #repost #writer #igreads #shelfie #tbr #goodreads #amazon #read #amazon #kindle #artistofig #artistsonig #instaart #bookshelf #writersociety #writerscorner #writersoninstagram #bookquotes #writerlife #dayinthelife #potd #igdaily #qotd https://www.instagram.com/p/B3YnEmuHTXv/?igshid=1auhtcmk60rhr

Shelfie time!
Rearranged some comic books (yeah I just like to mix things up a bit haha). Just super happy how my other bookcase is coming along, still a lot of empty space though.
I’ve also been thinking whether to get more of the Nemesis Now (gothic fairy figures). There just so beautiful, but are quite pricey…

Welcome, friends, to a new era of shelfies! Current status of my office/library: the main fiction shelves are built and mostly full, but the shelves where I’m going to keep non-fiction and non-standard format books (oversized, undersized, poetry, plays, etc) still need another coat of paint before they can be completely built, and then we’ll have to wait for that to dry properly before I can think about putting books on there. Once I’ve done that, I’ll probably end up reorganising the fiction shelves to make better use of the space. So you can expect some changeable shelfies for the next month or so.
BUT. I have shelves! At last! I also have a desk! There is still a lot that needs doing – boxes to empty, drawers to sort out, folders to sort through… I feel confident I’ll still be getting things organised come the new year. But it’s nice to be at least partially moved in.
In the meantime, I need to start wrapping up the books I’ve bought as Christmas presents, and I want to reread The Song of Achilles because it’s been too long. (About three years!) The novel I’m currently working on was inspired by rereading TSOA while doing medieval Irish translation, so I feel like now would be a good time to read it again.

My books are a blessing. Really! Some Scattered Thoughts on Owing Books/// I love my books. Shelves all over my home, sitting in tall, often unwieldy stacks, towering over every other aspect of my home. I love my books. But since the beginning of the year, I've been feeling overwhelmed with these loves of mine. Everywhere I looked, I saw a stack of books read and unread. And it began to get to it. ' I have far too many books.' ' I really am running out of space.' 'Maybe I need to prune my shelves. Sell some of my books maybe?' It was driving me crazy. I've been buying books since 2006. A couple of books every few months. From Sales, from the streets and even from some bookshops that I had a hard time leaving empty handed. They brought me so much joy. Slowly, but surely, my shelves began to fill up. O had my very own library! Me! Even now, nothing brings me as much joy as seeing my double stacked, bursting at it's seams bookshelves. I spent all of this morning dusting and cleaning my books, some of them and as I made room and stacked my books based on which ones I want to read in the near future, it hit me- Fuck it, I still love each and every book of mine. They still spark all kinds of joy. Every last one of them! They are a privilege. One that my childhood and teenage version would envy with the fire of a thousand suns 😁 Seriously, I am not even joking. So I've snapped out of it. Life is too short and far too previous to stress about too many books. It's a blessing I should be grateful for everyday. End of musing. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk ♥️ . . . #booksofinstagram #bookshelf #whimsybookworm #booknerdigans #bibliophile #thoughts #musings #writersofig #writeups #stacks #spines #bookblog #bookblogger #literaturelover #literature #light #womenwhoread #SatyajitRay #indianblogger #indianbooks #shelfie #shelves #bookstagram #unitedbookstagram #rantyourartout #bookphotography #mumbaiblogger (at Mumbai, Maharashtra) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvD3sRxHAwW/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=lfwjbdiyazij

Three ways to refresh your Spring Home Decor with Dried Flowers
Refreshing your ‘shelfie’ with preserved flower arrangements
Revitalizing an already existing space is an excellent starting point for any home decor refresh. From bookcases to floating shelves to mantelpieces dressing up your ‘shelfie’ with dried flower arrangements can add a focal point, some much needed height and even a splash of optimistic color.
Take any shelf as an opportunity to showcase your personal style through home decor. Starting with an empty shelf, select the largest decorative item you want to use—a Forever Floral dried arrangement like this one makes for the perfect first component.
