Charleston Blues
Part III
Tumblr media
Pairing: Erik Stevens x Thick Black OC
The tide of the Cooper river rippled towards the sandbank—the water’s surface tension was barely breached. A large animal lurked under the water, its huge paws paddling through beds of lily pads and tall grass. Its massive jaws opened wide and clamped down on a good sized bass and climbed up to the shore. An overgrown jaguar with a drenched coat filled its mouth with fish guts, and easily ripped the spine from the flesh. The cat shook the excess water off and swallowed the rest of the bass whole.
Crickets and lightning bugs swarmed the early Charleston dawn. Frogs hopped around the beach, nursing their tadpoles. The Carolina sun started to peek over the horizon and the cat’s bones began to shift. The jaguar roared as its back elongated and its paws extended into tactile fingers.
Badoru gave Erik the power to shapeshift, which made sense. Erik was always capable of being mutable—he could blend in with any crowd. The jaguar was his father’s favorite animal—this was his way of honoring him and his memory.
It was difficult at first. The first few attempts, he would pass out before he could make the transition fully. Badoru’s explosive power intimidated and overpowered but Erik would always put up a brave face. Badoru pushed him to his limits to conquer this new skill. Badoru spoke of Erik possessing many qualities that could be harnessed, but he had to crawl before he could walk.
Months and months of training and Erik could finally shift on a whim with just a thought. Badoru trusted him enough to roam in public with the full use of his skill. Erik had plenty of laughs scaring white foreign tourists in the Hallasan mountain range when he would run for hours, free as he’d ever been. There wasn’t a Black man alive who could do what he did and live to see another day. He didn’t take it for granted.
~
Today was opening day for Erik. He’d hired Jerry Brown, an old country sailor from Georgia he ran with overseas to be a full time sales associate. It was a scorcher that day, the temperature amounting to 87 degrees before noon. The store was pristine with navy shag carpet, beige walls with polished wooden shelving, perfectly folded military paraphernalia and jet black mannequins with various Navy and Army sweatsuits. Erik put a sign in his window saying “Coloreds Allowed”, to let the public know where he stood.
Being from Oakland and having his formative years in the North, he wasn’t sure how it would go down in the Jim Crow south. More people seemed to be leaving the South than coming to start a new life. But everybody didn’t have a vicious God protecting their every step.
“All right, J, how do I look?”
Erik fixed his collar in the small mirror in his office and smoothed down his mustache. He wore a navy and white gaucho shirt with the top two buttons loosened, and a white undershirt underneath. There was a solid gold chain that lay right on his pecs, matching the gold watch on his left wrist and the gold tooth in his mouth. The slacks he wore were impeccably pressed with a crease that could cut diamonds. His loafers were shined to perfection, with bright white socks and a tapered haircut slicked down.
“You a bad man, boss!” Jerry teases Erik and he inspected the floor for the last time. He turned the sign over from Closed to Open, and cracked the door open to let in the salty breeze.
“We’re open for business!”
The day was extremely busy and Erik was eternally grateful for Badoru making it happen. The naval base wasn’t far from downtown and he was thankful for the sailors who had the weekend off. Several connections were made with enlisted men and officers looking for rare paraphernalia. Even more, there were several civilian Black men who found their way inside and expressed their interest in purchasing what Erik had to offer in the back. He appreciated that the men of Charleston wanted to protect their families and communities at all costs. Most of all, he encountered people who were held in high esteem in the colored community and welcomed him to the lowcountry with open arms.
Lot of those men also had pretty little wives accompanying them with eyes that wandered. Jerry and Erik were almost overwhelmed with offers of pies and cakes to be brought over to properly welcome the Yankee to Charleston. He couldn’t help it; he was so magnetizing. One woman in particular was the wife of the barber on Meeting Street. She saw Erik’s skin dotted with keloids, and gasped aloud when she caught sight of them. Mrs. Warner had already been gazing at Erik’s broad chest, away from her husband’s watchful eyes. A wink and a flash of those stunning white teeth and Mrs. Warner was a goner.
~
Chantilly was getting the hang of her new life. She indeed thought differently and utilized parts of her brain that hadn’t been used before. She was cunning now. Drunk with a bloodlust. A bloodlust for vengeance.
She was expected at the Jenkins Institute in an hour and she wanted to get there early. Ursilene revealed to her that this was the time of the month Pastor Dunne dropped off canned goods from Second Presbyterian’s food drive. Tilly planned to volunteer on a regular basis and kill two birds with one stone—support Marla as best as she could and erase Pastor Dunne from all existence. She got her gloves and hat together when the phone in the hall rang.
“Hello, Davenport Residence.”
“Now cousin, the whole Lowcountry been buzzing about you and you ain’t had nan sense to call me and tell me about your newfound wealth! You my blood!”
Chantilly couldn’t do anything but throw her head back in laughter. Her favorite big cousin, Frieda Davenport-Foster, always knew how to brighten her mood. They were inseparable until Frieda’s parents moved them from the island across the bridge. Frieda graduated high school two years before Tilly and she was married to her high school sweetheart, Sammy Foster. Over a decade and four kids later, Tilly and her were finally getting close again.
“Whew lord knows y’all Geechies be nosy! I just blessed to be a soldier fighting in the army of the Lord, cousin! I hope you and Sammy and the chirren are faring well!”
Nothing but babies crying and the clang of a skillet could be heard in Frieda’s background as usual. “I tell you, I been bout tired of these chirren. They run me ragged, I ain’t lie! But that’s not what I called about! It’s about the CNWL. Missy told me to ask you again about you joining us.”
Tilly immediately rolled her eyes. The Club for Negro Women of the Lowcountry had three chapters across Charleston and Dorchester counties of single and married women over the age of 18. They were a civic group focused on empowering colored women in the Lowcountry by culture enrichment, engaging in charity, and uplifting the next generation of colored women. The Greater Charleston chapter of the CNWL was ran by Melissa Owens, Tilly’s childhood archenemy.
“Now Free, I tell you that I don’t fit in with that crowd. They all men obsessed with half a brain cell between them!”
“I gonna ignore that comment since I am the secretary! Listen, you would be a shoo-in. We need some new blood. Badly. With your amazing baking skills, hell we could start a couple initiatives with that alone! It would be good for you! Being around some people your own age, you can’t just give up on life, Tilly.”
Tilly looked at her watch and almost fell out at the time. “Look, I’m running late for an errand Free. I will come to one meeting. If I hate it, I will not return, you hear?”
Frieda squealed like a pig and told Tilly she would let the board know. Their next meeting was in a few days and she would be calling soon to give more details.
~
“And this is Pastor Dunne. Pastor Dunne, I’d like you to meet Chantilly Davenport.”
Pastor Dunne was tightlipped and very hasty with introducing himself to Tilly. He shook her hand and immediately started barking orders to his outreach volunteers. Not very friendly. Tilly came prepared however. Frieda’s mother, Tilly’s aunt Eunetta, worked roots and taught Frieda everything she knew. In turn, Frieda taught Chantilly. Rose, chamomile, licorice root, damiana, poppy seed, and a pinch of Black pepper ground up in a black sachet, sitting cozy in her left sweater pocket. With the right prayers and incantations, that powder could place anyone under the influence of the worker.
Mrs. Charles, headmistress of the Jenkins Institute was a cantankerous old woman with an incredibly short temper. However, she was one of the most educated colored people in town, and well respected by the white community as well. Her girls were known for being exceptionally well mannered, and if they weren’t adopted before 18, they would go into society as proper young ladies. Tilly saw Marla studying in the common room next to Sheila, whispering secrets and giggling like young girls do. How could that monster want to take away that beautiful light from that girl?
Tilly assisted the volunteers from Second Presbyterian by setting out silverware and plates. Today, the volunteers cooked a hearty lunch for the children, which Mrs. Charles insisted that the children thank Pastor Dunne and the volunteers aloud for their kindness.
Pastor Dunne asked everyone to circle up and stand for prayer. He strolled right to Marla, and Tilly wanted to explode. His clammy sausage fingers enclosed Marla’s delicate hand, and squeezed tightly. The child was clearly perturbed and nervous. And yet, none of the other adults could sense anything was out of the ordinary. The pastor’s prayer was longwinded and hollow. Tilly felt Ursilene’s presence nearby. It was almost time.
After the prayer, Tilly and the other volunteers served the children until everyone was seated. Tilly sat alone at a table not far from some high school aged girls. She didn’t pay them any mind until one of them mentioned Pastor Dunne in their conversation.
“I can’t stand Pastor Dunne. He hands always clammy and nasty. And he always play with my hair. Do he do that to y’all?”
“Yes girl, he try to get me to pray with him alone one time. I told him I feeling ill. I ain’t like how he looked at me.”
Tilly had heard enough. She finished her food and made sure to clear her tray. Pastor Dunne had began hauling some of the heavier catering trays to the church van. Surely, a man of God can appreciate some assistance from a Good Samaritan .
“Pastor Dunne. Let me help you there!” Tilly gathered a box and filled it with napkins, flatware and plates. It was easily over 50 pounds and Tilly didn’t struggle at all, thanks to her powers. Her little feet scampered behind the pastor, while the first streetlight of the evening began to flicker on in the parking lot.
Pastor Dunne had been hot and cold with Tilly all day. At first she wasn’t sure if she would get the chance to be alone with him; he was very cozy with a female volunteer who waited on his every word. Wonder what his wife thought about that.
(This is your chance, Chantilly. Use your power.)
Tilly dropped the box into the back of the van, and tapped the pastor on his shoulder.
“Theodore…”
“Now Miss Davenport, I need to let you know that I am a married man. You colored women are beautiful but you’re so…..aggressive—“
Chantilly blew the compelling powder into Dunne’s face. His eyes immediately rolled back and then dazedly focused on Tilly. The power of suggestion. The power of persuasion. Ursilene knew Tilly’s strengths and weaknesses; one look into her big chestnut eyes, and no one could resist her. This time would be no different.
“Oh Theo. If there’s anything you white boys have, it’s audacity. I wouldn’t let you fuck me with another man’s dick. As a matter of fact…..slap yourself.”
Dunne slapped himself hard, leaving his cheek beet red.
“Again.”
*SLAP*
“Again.”
*SLAP*
“Ahahahahahahaha! You’re pathetic. Get in the van. Drive to Johns Island. Park on Sullivan Avenue, and walk past Ol’ Ravenel’s store. Meet me at 357 Cannonborough. Do not stop for a red light. Do not stop for a stop sign. Exactly 15 minutes. Use the key under the mat and sit in the cellar until I get there. You hear me, boy?”
The pastor nodded like a dunce; any trace of what he was had gone. He was totally under her spell and influence. Her own personal puppet. Theodore’s eyes were aloof and glazed over, and Tilly pulled his handkerchief from his coat pocket to wipe the drool from his mouth. She closed up the back of the van, and sent him on his way.
Fuck those racist tramps, they can find their own way home. Tilly got in her car and drove at a leisurely pace.
Her victim would get there before her. She had to prepare herself. Ursilene required blood to sustain her power. However, she had no physical form and would need a conduit for her power to grow. That was where Tilly came in.
A banshee. When Ursilene inhabits her avatar’s bodies, they turn into banshees. A raging woman with death in her mouth and a blood curdling scream to signify the beginning of the end for her victim. Tilly crossed the bridge onto the island, clutching the steering wheel with white knuckles.
Her mama brought her up to be a good church girl. They believed in the Lord at 357 Cannonborough. However, she wasn’t always under her mama’s thumb. Her daddy’s side kept their abilities and beliefs very close to the chest. A rootworker, at worst, could be arrested and charged for fraud on account that the South Carolina government found no merit in these ancient African traditions that had been retained by the Geechie people. At the least, they could be cast out of the community, labeled as a pariah.
She wasn’t afraid anymore. Her mama was dear to her heart and a newly cherished ancestor. But she had to live her own life, and as a Black woman in this country, she was done taking orders from mere mortals who didn’t live as they preached.
Driving past Ravenel’s convenience store, she saw the van parked very badly around the corner on Sullivan. Pulling up to the property, she kissed Pepper, and poured out some food for her for the night. “You stay in the doghouse for a while, k? Mommy has to go kill a man.”
Tilly walked into her home, and pulled her coat and gloves off. There was a record player in the drawing room and she put on her favorite, Miss Ella Fitzgerald. She turned it up loud. Deafeningly loud. The bop of her scatting followed Tilly to the cellar. Her stacked heels clack down the rickety basement stairs, and who else does she find but the pastor sitting there like a bump on a log.
“Stand up.”
He damn near fell over himself complying with her command. He was like a giant puppy, red faced and eager.
“I’m bored with you. Theodore. Snap out of it.” Tilly snapped and Theodore came to. Those hazel eyes grew big as saucers once he realized where he was. Oblivious to how he got there and what this Black woman was up to, he called her everything but a child of God. Which was true. Ursilene was her mother now.
“Oh Theo, such colorful language. Such a shame that red face of yours aint gon see another day. I know what you did. What you do. You sick fuck. They’re CHILDREN.”
“You black bitch! You’ll be swinging from Angel Oak once I’m through with you! You’re gonna wish you were dead!” Tilly rushed the man and picked him up by his throat. Her strength was off the charts and the man was quickly losing air.
(Focus, Chantilly. It’s time. Open yourself up. We shall be one.)
Tilly dropped the sad excuse for a man to the ground, gasping and hacking for air. Tilly breathed deep and closed her eyes. The light green smoke entered the basement and swirled around Tilly. The pastor cowered and hid behind the furnace and Tilly began to rise. Her eyes rolled back and the green smoke infiltrated her mouth and nose, winding down her throat.
Another set of eyes formed under her brow bone, the whites of them disappearing completely. Her hair stood straight up on its ends, her back bent unnaturally and she let out a howl that shattered every window and mirror in the basement. She was bare now, naked as the day she was born. Tilly, possessed by Ursilene, landed gently on the floor and spotted her prey.
(Come here, you scum.)
The pastor screamed for his life as he was forcibly floating towards her. Chantilly’s voice combined with Ursilene’s terrified the pastor, causing him to soil himself.
(I relish in your terror. There is no greater joy for me knowing that your life will end in pain and suffering. Look into my eyes. For the last time, witness the terror you’ve caused and accept your fate.)
The pastor was babbling like an idiot for his life. His pleas went unanswered. Ursilene showed Dunne the atrocities he wreaked on Marla. And just as Tilly suspected, it wasn’t just her. It was multiple girls throughout the years. And not just at the orphanage. Members of his congregation……..even his twelve year old daughter. Death was almost a mercy for him. But with an ego as large as his, this would hurt him most.
Ursilene had Tilly unhinge her jaw, showing her newly serrated teeth more than an inch long. She ripped his throat out, and what was left of his esophagus bled profusely down her chest and stomach. Chantilly was no longer present. Ursilene’s true nature was revealed. She lapped at his spurting throat, grunting and groaning at the flow of power. Her eyes were crazed, only focusing on sustenance.
Her first kill. The blood flow slowed. Pastor Dunne finally croaked. The seafoam green smoke belted out of her mouth, causing Tilly to stumble on her feet. The extra set of eyes disappeared and her skin no longer felt overheated. Her head wouldn’t stop spinning and her mouth and nose had the distinct taste and scent of metal.
(Justice has been served tonight. Rest, child. You have done wonderfully. I will take care of this. Go, go. Your slumber awaits.)
Tilly looked down at herself. She looked as if she’d bathed in blood. She should have been terrified. At what she’s done. At what she’s capable of. But she wasn’t. Maybe that’s what scared her the most.
“Yes, Ursilene.”
~
Three weeks later..
“Hey suga. It’s your fav big cousin. Yes it is.” Chantilly cooed over Frieda’s new baby boy Dalzell, named after her favorite uncle. They finally got up together and walked all around downtown. Chantilly assured her that no one would mess with them, and it was true. They showed Dalzell the Battery and the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Rainbow Row with all the colorful houses. Market Street with the open air market and former slave market that their ancestors were brought through. Their heritage and history. Fellowshipping with family in peace.
“Let’s go on King. I put my last layaway payment on this dress at Boston’s and that thang coming home with mama!” Frieda exclaimed.
Jewelry stores, pawn shops, convenience stores, old Geechie woman weaving sweet grass, and sweet sweet sunshine. A beautiful summer afternoon. Chantilly’s A line dress was made of linen, and perfect for the scorching day. Her cat eye sunglasses matched perfectly. At the end of the block was that new military surplus store. There was talk that it was supposed to be owned by a colored man. That didn’t happen often.
“Let’s get some ice cream, cuz.” Tilly suggested. It was right next door to the store and there was outside seating. Tilly and her cousin were made to wait after every white person was served before they could get some assistance. Tilly almost said something before Frieda restrained her.
“Tilly…..I got the baby with us. Let it alone.” She was right of course.
Vanilla bean for Frieda and Rocky Road for Tilly. Baby Dalzell was finally drifting off and a bell caught Tilly’s attention.
“Jerry, I’m getting me some ice cream, you want any?”
“I’m good boss!”
Erik closed the front door of his business and swaggered to the ice cream parlor entrance. The sight of him made Frieda halt her sentence completely.
“So Tilly, I was thinking—“
They both stopped and stared. How could they not? This Black man walked like a king and looked like a bodybuilder. He was gorgeous, and the scent of his cologne made Tilly tingle. There were white people inside already waiting to be served and he walked right up to the counter. The worker seemingly took his order and he was taken care of right away! Who was this man???
He strolled out of the parlor, and adjusted the tight shirt on that wide chest of his. The man cradled two large scoops of strawberry ice cream, and lapped at it with the biggest tongue she had ever seen. Tilly had never seen skin like his. Tiny bumps all along his arms and forearms. The outlines of bumps on his pecs formed through his shirt. Apparently the man was a gentleman. He felt two sets of eyes on him, and he tipped his hat to Frieda. But when he looked at Tilly……..sparks flew without her knowing. He scanned her up and down—enticed and intrigued. She sat cross legged, her round thighs warranting a long look.
She pushed her sunglasses down, and he winked at her, and smiled. A ray of sunlight reflected off his gold tooth and nearly blinded her. She gulped as she watched him enter his store and close the door behind him.
Frieda’s ice cream damn near melted away through her fingers. “Goddamn. That’s him?”
Tilly pushed her sunglasses up and resumed eating her ice cream cone. “I reckon so.”
“I saw that, you know. You ain’t slick.”
“What?! What foolishness you caterwauling about now?” Chantilly loudly denied and ate at the waffle cone.
“Admit it, you think he’s handsome! You’re blushing like a damn school girl!”
“My name is Wes and I ain’t in the mess, now leave me alone Free!” She held her laugh in while her cousin teased her. Wasn’t no harm in looking, right?

Happy Birthday, Jennyfair7 :P
Tumblr media
So a while back I actually FINALLY managed to read “A Moment Of Weakness”, @jennyfair7, and I loved it and I forced myself to wait with a feedback until your birthday, which is finally here today *lightsfirecracker*!!! Your writing style is wonderful and the story perfect and could totally have taken place like that in canon. I always appreciate angst and melancholy in ffs if they are written well and you definitely accomplished that challenge fantastically!
So to give you something back for all your support, reblogs and kind words during the whole time we know each other by now I thought I take this chance to say thank you and happy birthday together today and gift to you this picture inspired by your beautiful angst (if that combination makes any sense :P) story.
If you ever need an inappropriate gift I’m totally the person you should call XD!
I wish you an amazing birthday and hope despite the given circumstances you get the chance to celebrate with the people you love. May all your wishes come true! And please know how much our phriendship means to me. Stay the way you are, ‘cause that’s already awesome!

Control it
Charles Xavier x reader (Young Charles before he was shot)
Warnings: past trauma, light hurt/comfort
Mutation: Create and manipulate fire
Tumblr media
You wandered the overly large mansion wondering what plans the telepath had. You wandered and wandered actually lost now.
“CHARLES!” You yelled huffing as you didn’t know where you were.
“Yes darling?” His voice filled your head and you flushed a little at the name.
“I’m lost” you mumbled.
“Stay there” he said and you sighed leaning against the wall.
You saw the man walk to you and you smiled.
“How on earth did you get lost?” He asked his arm going around your shoulder.
“Because I have no sense of direction” you said.
“That I knew” he chuckled teasingly. He led you outside where you saw the others.
“Did you really get lost?” Raven asked and you nodded going to her, Charles arm sliding off you
“You grew up here, I did not” you said before she could tease.
“I didn’t say anything” she said and you smiled.
“What’s the plan?” Erik spoke up.
“We train” Charles smiled and you frowned.
“Train?” You questioned.
“Yes” he said confident and you sighed.
His training was apparently forced labour, not literally, but it felt like it. Raven and Hank had been together a lot while Charles trained the others. You weren’t one for fighting, your mutation wasn’t something to be fought with.
You leant against the railing looking out to the big field, you glanced to the big satellite and sighed.
“There you are” you turned around seeing Charles coming down the stairs.
“Are you purposely avoiding me?” He asked a grin on his face.
“I don’t know why you saw that” you rolled your eyes.
“You can control it” Charles said softly and you clenched your jaw.
“And set the whole house on fire” you huffed.
“My father built a vault that can withstand anything, even Havok” he tried to convince but it wasn’t working.
“Charles” you muttered and he sighed.
“Just one try?” He asked as you looked to him.
“If I blow you up I’m not sorry” you snapped. He grinned and led you to the vault. It was tarnished by Havok but not ruined. You raised an eyebrow at the marks and lines.
“Set the dummy on fire” Charles stood by you and pointed to the three mannequins.
“Those are mannequins” you said.
“Same thing” he huffed and you rolled your eyes.
“Can you stand back” you muttered and he nodded back away. Your palm warmed up and you created a small flame, you stared at it for a moment hands beginning to shake.
“Don’t think” Charles said but you already did. You remembered their screams and horrid coughing as they burnt to death. Your arm began to light up, burning your clothes.
“Y/n!” Charles had called you but you screamed body lighting on fire. A pulse of flame went out from you before you fell to the floor. You panted, clothes burnt to a crisp. You shook trying to keep yourself up. Others came in and you frowned as Charles came over wrapping a blanket around you and standing close.
“What happened?” It was Erik.
“Training” Charles said kneeling in front of you. He cupped your cheeks wiping away your tears.
“It’s fine Erik” he said rather snappy and the man left.
“Did I hurt you?” You asked tugging the blanket closer.
“No my dear” he said sitting down in front of you.
“I liked those jeans” you said and he scoffed smiling. You lifted your top half up sighing.
“Can I take a look?” He asked and you frowned till you realised he meant your mind.
“There’s nothing in there” you muttered and shrugged.
“Go for it” you muttered leaning forward slightly. He lifted his fingers to your temple as he went through your memories, your family, the fire. He went passed it though and you froze seeing your little sister on her tenth birthday, you felt tears in your eyes her big smile as you chased her around. Shoving her face with cake and laughing. You smiled hanging your head slightly as you let tears fall down. He looked a little deeper, to the night he found you.
You were a shaking mess barely out of your teens, sitting naked and frightened in a corner. Your house had burnt down from your burst, you had awoken to yourself on fire along with the rest of the house, you heard screams from your family but couldn’t get to them. Your body just pulled with fire, you couldn’t feel the heat though. After their screams had stopped you had returned normal, collapsing into the corner where your bed once was and crying. You didn’t know what happened, nor understood.
You heard voices after a few hours, figured it was the police or something but when you saw two men standing there you frowned.
“Y/n? Is it?” The shorter one had asked and you frowned nodding. He approached a little closer and you flinched backing.
“Don’t!- just stay there- I don’t want to hurt you” you said and he nodded holding his hands up. You caught their scents both alphas, the shorter one more intriguing.
“My names Charles Xavier” he said and you nodded.
“Are you police?” You asked and the taller one scoffed laughing.
“No, far from it” Charles shook his head.
“We’re mutants” he added and you frowned.
“Just like you” his voice echoed in your head but his mouth didn’t move. You frowned staring at him in confusing. The other man lifted his hand a few metal things coming to his hand and floating.
“Houses are full of metal” he said and you gulped slightly.
“What do you want?” You asked slightly nervous.
“To bring you some place safe” Charles spoke.
“Away from humans” The taller man said and Charles glared slightly.
“I can help you learn to control it” he said. His voice was soothing, his eyes soft, he was quite handsome.
“Ok-“ you stuttered as he went through the full memory, you pulled back flushing.
“You think I’m handsome?” He questioned a grin on his face. You flushed rolling your eyes as you stood.
“Y/n” he called chasing after you as you went to your room.
“I didn’t mean to pry, the reason I did though was to bring back good memories” you frowned at his words and slowed your pace.
“Your mutation goes off of emotion much like Eriks, using the right balance between anger and happiness can unlock your full potential” you sighed at his words and opened your door as you got to it.
“I’m a bomb Charles, a fire bomb” you said closing your door in his face.
You sighed hearing him walk away. You went to your closest grabbing some clothes and going to the bathroom.
After washing off the ash you sighed changing and lying on your bed. You were thankful your body was immune to fire, even your hair and nails, your clothes however just, well turned to ash.
You skipped dinner and went straight to bed as night came. You forced yourself to sleep and gain some energy back.
You shook awake, the lights behind your eyes startling you. You gasped fire all around and coughing from your family.
“Mum!” You called getting up. You were a flame again, you tried to shake it off furiously as everything around you cracked and burned.
“MUM!” You cried trying to unlock your door but it didn’t budge.
“Y/n!” You heard your sister call but you couldn’t do anything. You sobbed going to your knees as the fire raged around you.
“Y/n” it stopped though and you frowned at Charles voice.
“Charles?” You questioned as he stood a meter away. It was just a burning corridor now, you at one end, him at the other.
“I can’t control it” you sobbed.
“You can” he said as the flames roared slightly.
“It doesn’t control you, you control it” he added coming closer.
“No! I’ll burn you! You said holding your hands out.
“You wont” you frowned looking down to see your normal hands. The flames around you went quiet, only little lights every now and then. Your hands shook as you looked to them, hands grabbed yours and you flinched looking to Charles.
“You just need to control it” he said softly letting go of one hand and letting it rest on your cheek.
You startled awake and heard a sigh of relief.
“What-?” You said confused as Charles panted on the floor.
“Charles?” You questioned smelling smoke.
“Charles what happened?” You began to freak out again.
“No- no calm down” he stood quickly sitting on your bed and cupping your face.
“Just look at me” he said as you tried to move. You heard another in the room and began to shake in confusion.
“She needs to control it” you heard Erik say sternly.
“Ignore him” Charles said and you looked around shaking his hands off. The wall was gone, burnt out you froze at the damage you had caused, the cold night air coming in. Erik had all the fire extinguishers by him, his arms crossed with a disappointed face.
“Erik get out” Charles said a little sternly.
“Charles-“ Erik sighed.
“Out now” Charles huffed pointing to the door. You had tears in your eyes as you looked at the damage you caused.
“I didn’t take the meds hank gave me” you mumbled looking to your side table.
“Too keep away the nightmares-“ you cried again and arms went around you.
You trembled as you cried leaning against Charles shoulder. He hushed you gently keeping you close.
“I can’t control it” you whispered sniffly.
“Yes you can” he fought slightly lifting you to face him.
“I know you can, with time and training” he said placing a hand on your cheek again.
“You can control it” he whispered as you shook your head. He sighed suddenly leaning forward as lips met yours. You froze shocked at the lips on yours but kissed back. You closed your eyes leaning to him and pulled back.
“I believe in you” he whispered.

Taking Erik To The Beauty Supply Store 2 / Barber Shop With Erik
Erik Killmonger x Black Reader
Warnings : mature/sexual conversations?
it's a regular day in the stevens household. going to the beauty supply store again & the barber shop but hey it's fun cause it's you and your man.
First taking Erik to the beauty supply store fic:
“I could beat the brake off her lying ass. First of all, I should’ve known something was up cause she asked me if I’m natural. I said yes. She said well I normally do relaxed hair.. Then said you got to have your hair washed and blow dried already… Talking about she was going to have me serving 90s Nia Long. This bitch got me looking like big momma when she came home for that motherfucking party.” You continue your rant as Erik moves around the room looking for your body butter and your fluffy shoes to put on for the day.
You wanted a cute 90s pixie cut to go along with the theme of the maternity shoot which was like the cheesy 90s mall style set with the faded backdrop.
Tumblr media
180 dollars and a lopsided , almost a golden bob later and you are still thinking about snatching her out of that salon.
“I’m gonna try and trim it up myself and dye it before the maternity photos tomorrow. But I’mma get two wigs just in case I mess up.” You explain to Erik as he begins to spread the body butter up your legs leaving a golden glow on your skin.
“Not you down there cackling after getting some hang time on the locs you been growing since high school... It’s quiet, ain't no back talk.” You banter with him and he stops massaging your legs to give you a look and laughs softly before giving you a retort of his own.
“You got a lot to say for somebody that can’t even lotion they ashy lil knees.”
“Your daughter been pushing against my organs for 8 and a half months. I don’t wanna hear nothing unless its about my push present. You know that I like rings… My engagement ring looking reeeealll lonely.” you say to him as you dangle your hand in front of his face.
“You look so fucking good today baby… Say, Big Fine, lemme get your number… I’mma eat the f-” he trails off kissing your legs and letting his tongue trail up it and you grab his chin softly.
“Boy if you don’t come on before you be late for your appointment… Can I stop and get a blue raspberry slushie first though?” you ask him and he sighs softly before giving you a small smile and nodding.
“Yeah, hold on let me grab your shoes and purse and then we can go.”
“And obviously yes when we come back before I install that lace front you can beat, duh.” you reply to him before giving him a peck to his lips.
After he grabs everything and helps you down the stairs. And with his help of putting you into his big ass truck you two are on your way.
“We’re going to get my hair cut first cause I already know you’re going to want to go to 2 different stores and it’s only gon’ take him about 15 minutes at the most to line me up.”
He wasn’t lying with the way that you liked to scan every section of the store before you left because to be honest where else were you going to get a pair of skittle shorts, bomb ass lip glosses, and a cute little panda hand sanitizer holder all in one place?
“Okay, sounds like a plan.. The way that I was supposed to have a hot girl summer this year and ended up with a damn its too hot for me to even put my clothes on mom summer. You really were not playing about trying to start a family on your birthday.” you joke as you crunch on your goldfish and look over at Erik.
“I think you just got finer through this whole thing. Watching my baby grow my baby is something surreal. In the beginning watching you go through all of the morning sickness and the body aches and stuff. I felt so bad you know not being able to physically take on all that was going on with you. I aint gon’ never not be appreciative and awe of you.” Erik replies with a serious comment that you were not expecting and you’d be damned if the hormones aren’t doing their thing.
“I really did not expect you to say that. Baabbbee, come on. You know I cry about everything right now. Love you.” you lean over to wrap your arms around him gently and kiss the side of his face while he’s focusing on the road.
“I love you too…. I think I’mma get my locs cut off soon. I don’t know why I’m ready to get a fade and just call it a day.” he questions before looking over at you briefly
“Either way you still gonna look good. I knew you before you even got your locs so you’re gonna look even better now because you grew into your head. Dee be cutting the fuck outta your hair even though he been bald for a good 40 years.” you say and it causes Erik to let out a loud laugh and shake his head.
You eventually ended up ordering a blue raspberry lemonade slushie, a hotdog and fries because Sonic basically took all of Erik's money at this point in your pregnancy.
The rest of your ride was chill as you both swayed to the music or turned it down for a little chat every now and then.
In public was always very protective of you but especially since becoming pregnant he has been hovering over you like a lion waiting for someone to even look at you for too long.
He hops out of the sleek matte black truck first to help you out and sling his arm around your waist with a hand resting on your belly.
You feel some eyes on you as you walk through the door. Your multi-coloured sundress that showcased your back, flowing with you.
Tumblr media
Some of the men, new to the shop you assumed, were eyeing you down before Erik looked over their way and nods at them and they pretended to check their phones.
“What's up E? Damn lil sis look like she’s about to pop! How you feeling baby girl?” Dee greets you and Erik as you both walk in and some of the regulars in there say hey to the both of you.
“I’m alright Dee. Baby is just really ready to see the world. She has been kicking up a storm at times. I think we might have a little athlete here.” you reply and you watch as the greyed man with freckles across his cheeks and bridge of his nose eyes crinkle as he finishes cutting the man's hair sitting in the chair.
“I remember when I became a father for the first time. Shits wild because you think that you know everything there is to know and then when you actually see your baby take that first breath. It’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced before.” He continues as he shows you a photo of his 4 children and you give him a small smile.
“Ooh, they’re beautiful.” you compliment him as you settle into your seat and scroll on your phone on your phone waiting for Erik to be next.
Some time went by and the men seemed like they were trying to keep their conversation in a hush and you can see some eyes on you as they talked back and forth.
“I’m just saying if you want a threesome with your girl and you expect her to be okay with letting another woman into her bed. You need to match her energy. Could you imagine your girl asking you to bring a whole nother man into your room if that’s not what you’re into? Instead of asking for it. Maybe try bringing toys into the situation. Could spice it up a notch and be in both of your comfort zones. Personally, couples vibrators seem to do the trick just fine.” You advise as you look up from scrolling on your Pinterest feed.
The little huddle of them in front of you stopped talking and immediately looked up at you in silence before Dee’s laugh broke it.
“I don’t know about bringing another man in. That ain't my thing but I get what you're saying. Which ones would you recommend?” The one named Leron asked and you notice Erik is now paying attention , looking from you to them to make sure they stay respectful.
“You better let them know , baby girl! That’s how that baby popped into fruition. She got you with the tantric breathing, huh E?” he jokes and Erik cracks into a smile, his golds gleaming as he looks at you.
“She not wrong. Engage in what your woman like too. Yoga, talking during sex, giving as much as you receive from her, all that. ” He says casually and shrugging and you give him a small smile cause this man done come so far from when you met him.
After he finishes lining up his beard, Erik pays and you’re on your way to one of your favourite places.
“You look so sexy. Your beard is all lined up crisp and stuff. I told you that beard oil was gonna even it out.” you say to him and kiss him below his ear . His hand gripped your thigh gently and you repeated it again.
It didn’t take long before you were at one of your favourite places.
You turned to Erik and asked him to buy a stocking cap for you to try on the wigs that you liked and wanted to see before you purchased it.
You slid on the stocking cap over your hair before grabbing a cute little 27 piece pixie cut wig just to try it on and see what it was giving . You finger combed it and turned to Erik to ask him how it looks.
“Like you finna start singing “Truth is i’m tired. Take me to the king. Here’s my offering-” .” You hold in your laugh as you push Erik’s chest and he grabs your hands.
“I can’t stand your ass !” You say cracking up and Erik grabs the stocking cap from his pocket that he brought himself and slides it over his locs.
You watch as he grabs one of the bobs from the mannequin and sits it half cocked on his head before shaking it side to side.
“What’s cooler than being cool? Ice cold. You know what to do doooo. You know what to doooo.... This is your grand daddy. This is your grand daddy.” Erik starts acting like Andre 3000 and Mr. Brown. You swear this man was gonna make you push out this baby with how hard you were laughing at him.
“Why are you moving your lips like thaaat? What’s your name? B.O.B, so they calling you Bob? Stop playing nigga you know that I’m known for the bob.” you sing the nicki minaj lyrics to him and both of y’all get a good laugh before he takes off the wig and places it carefully back on the mannequin.
He looks over at the one that looked the most like your hair before you got it cut and slides it on.
His expressions changed and he narrowed his eyes at you before putting his hand on his stomach.
“Whew, my god E. You did this to me and for what? My ankles looking like cornbread huh? Look at this shit bae! If my nose swells for real in these next months, we fighting. Damn, I’m getting thick. I look like I'm pregnant in the front and the back. Can you get me two shrimp po’boys and some fries on the way home? ERIK, wake up- You our baby look like Stitch in this ultrasound? Stop playing , im for real.” he sounds exactly like you and mimicked your expressions to a t.
You giggled softly and snatched his wig off leaving him standing there looking crazy in the cap.
“You wanna fight?” You ask him before walking up on him like you’re on bad girls club and swinging the wig at him.
He helped you put the wig back on the mannequin and kissed both of your hands before continuing through the aisle with you.
You both ignored how many times the employee passed by or watched you as you grabbed some of the products from the shelf and put it into your little cart that you wanted to try.
“You wish this was you, huh? You wanted to be Future from 8 Mile so bad, huh? ” you ask Erik , laughing as you point to the full lace faux locs wig that’s in front of you and he shakes his head.
“She got you down bad. This you?” he asks you as he points to the lil gold church wig that’s sitting on the top shelf and you suck your teeth at him .
“You wanna dip dye your hair for tomorrow? A pretty auburn colour would look so good on you or even a baby blue?” You ask him as you move away from the wigs after deciding to put a off black lace front straight wig in your cart and another in sandy blonde with deep waves.
You scan the shelf of dye as Erik wraps his arm around your waist and takes a look.
“This one looks good right here.” He adds as he hands you a colour called Electric Blue.
“This is gonna look so good on you bae.” You compliment him and he leans down to kiss you softly.
“You only tryna compliment me cause you want me to help you install that wig. You think you slick bae.” he calls as he walks off towards the hair care products for his locs.
“Well, if I’m finna use the little energy I have to retwist your hair you could at least extend the helping hand!” You call after him.
“I haven’t tried peppermint oil yet but it should be good to add to my mix? Look, I found this small ass bonnet. She’s gonna be able to match us.” He says walking back to you and showing you the lilac bonnet in his hand and you swear you were about to tear up again cause all 3 of you were gonna have matching bonnets and durag.
“If she takes after both of us she’s gonna have a head full of hair. To cover that melon from your side.” You tease him
“Come on and grab your butterfly wings for your eyes so we can go home and finish our show. I’mma cook them snow crabs for you too.” he says to you and you can see him watching you like you hung the moon in the sky yourself as you venture off.
You grabbed the edge control, lashes, a new lipstick, earrings, glosses, Got2b spray, and some accessories for Erik’s hair before meeting him at the counter.
It took him all of two seconds to pay for your beauty supply store addiction and you were off on your way back to the crib to love on him.
Erik was currently standing behind you while you sat in the chair in his old large tshirt and held down the wig to the Ghost Bond glue.
You were talking him through helping you finish the install because you just didn't have the energy to do it.
“Okay you gon’ take a lil piece and wrap it around the wand. But please be careful baby. This one goes from like 0 to a 400 degrees so fast.” you warn and watch in the mirror as he takes the first piece and follows your instructions.
You watch him for a while focusing on your head and asking if you liked the way that it’s turning out. You smile softly at him and nod.
“I'm so grateful , you know. “ you say to him with a pout
“Damn, I was just about to send you a do you like me back yes or no text after this too.” he jokes and you shake your head.
“I’m tryna be serious and appreciate you-” you are cut off by him leaning down and pushing his plump lips out for a kiss from you
“I love you too. 2 more weeks and I get to have my two babies in my arms. What more could I want? ”

Homebody (Ch.5)
Summary: Amiyah is the younger sister of local drug dealer (Durkio). Shy and reserved she keeps to herself and stays out the way. But lately she began to find interest in his right hand man/ best friend (Erik Stevens). Wanting to get him to notice her she discovers that he already had her wrapped around his finger without even trying! There was only a few problems that kept her away from her fantasies , her brother that controlled almost every single breath she took and would kill anyone who looked at her that way and lastly Eriks girlfriend, Alexis , who they called the queen of the hood according to her lavish lifestyle as well as being with the next newest top boy in the making. While Alexis was his girl to the streets all Amiyah wanted to do was be his Homebody...
Pairing: Erik Stevens x Thick OC
Warning: Language, Robbery, Smoking
Tumblr media
The smoke from the three burnt out blunts fogged the car. Erik’s head hung low as he tried to focus on the topic of discussion. Looking to his right he watched as Durk sparked a lighter to light up the fourth one and started a new rotation. Taking it from his hand Erik put the blunt to his lips and pulled. He had to admit that he was feeling high but yet nowhere near done with the session.
It was a Monday morning. Almost ten am to be exact. They were parked in Erik’s car in front of Frank’s Auto Garage. To a normal person it look like a regular place of business but it wasn’t. Durk used the shop to clean his money so he wouldn’t have anything tracing back to him. Erik glanced up and watched two corner boys walk out with a backpack each before getting into their vehicle and driving off.
“Aye man I appreciate you for coming through with this assignment. Once I get this nigga Shawn out the way I could finally do some business with the new connect.” Durk spoke before inhaling the blunt.
Nodding his head Erik slouched in his seat.
“I told you it’s nothing. Just don’t forget I’ma need one person to come with me. Someone who can watch my back.”
After going into almost two years without doing a job Erik felt a little rusty. He wanted to be certain that he could bring someone with him who could look out. Someone who he could trust that had to be skilled enough to keep up. The last thing Erik wanted was for this to go wrong and he end up in prison or even worst, dead.
If it was any other person coming to him to offer him work Erik would decline them with a quickness. This wasn’t something that he wanted to be a part of anymore. He had aspirations to become a better man. And with that, that means he had to give up the lifestyle to live a better one. But it was Durk. The man who had the opportunity to gun him down right in front of the trap house when they first met five years ago spared him. Gave him a second chance.
Erik witness Durk do way worst to people who didn’t do nearly as half as much compared to what Erik was going to commit that night. So he felt in a way obligated to come through for his best friend. There was no other option. He owe him his life.
“No doubt. Actually I got this one associate that’s in debt with me. Told him I could use his help whenever I needed him to pay me off. Heard he a shooter that don’t miss. Anybody who have your back I think it’ll be him.” Durk grinned confidently.
Erik nodded his head absorbing the information. Trusting his brother with whatever choice he went with he continue to ask him where the drop would be.
“Okay so what about this nigga Shawn. You got an address.”
Durk pulled out his burner. Going to a text message he clicked on it and passed the phone over to Erik.
He read over it. 4523 Lanely Rd. Pulling up his notes icon Erik typed in the address and saved the information. He gave the burner back to Durk. Realizing the area that it was in Erik shook his head. Nice suburban area where it was mostly Caucasian which amount to one thing. Nosy ass neighbors. It was a risk but he would just have to deal with it.
Hearing Durk sighed he studied him. His hands was rested over his eyes as he was leaned back in the chair. His boy looked stressed.
“You good?” A genuine tone came out.
“I think my sister fucking around with someone but I just don’t know who yet.”
Erik’s eyebrows lifted up. Glancing up to the ceiling as he listened carefully.
“I just really hope it’s not one of these fuck niggas. I might need yo ass for another job after this. We could rob this nigga together.”
The two chuckled.
‘Damn I can’t rob myself.’
Erik thought to himself before engaging back in the conversation.
“What makes you think she fucking with someone?” Erik curiously wanted to know. It would give him an advantage on what he should not be doing.
“Well the other night I walk in the livingroom and there she was sitting there with her titties all out, make up done like she was getting ready for a dick appointment or sum shit.” Durk replied in a stressful tone.
Daydreaming at the ceiling, Erik’s memory jogged back to her outfit from that night. He could still see the way her cleavage appeared in front of him as she sat across from him in the diner. The soft flesh looking at him. He had to control himself multiple times that night from staring at them so much. But he couldn’t with the way they would bounce a little every time she laughed.
Speaking of her smile. Erik adored that about her the most. He love how her lips curled up showing off those pretty white teeth. The way her lipgloss color made her lips appear more fuller than what they already were. The same lips that drove him crazy from the softness. If he could sit in the booth kissing her all night he would have. That was enough to satisfy him. Erik sucked in his bottom lip as if he could still feel hers on his. She just had to let him get a taste.
‘Why she let me do that?’
Erik berated himself with that question as he shook his head about his lack of self control. He felt guilty. He was the nigga who his best friend was worried about hurting his sister. Right now he was feeling like a pussy. It was like he didn’t have the balls to speak up and tell him the truth. He was feeling Amiyah.
“Why you don’t like her dating anyway? I get you trying to protect her but I mean she is 21, you can’t stop her from living bro.” Erik wanted to sound reasonable but without suspicion.
“I know she got a life to live but the fact that mine is tied up with hers don’t help.”
“What you mean?”
Durk paused glancing at his phone. “ I mean besides you I can’t trust none of these niggas man. What if whoever she talk to know that she my little sister? No telling what they’ll do to her just to get to me.”
Erik listened understanding his perspective.
“I done did some foul shit out here that I’m not proud of, you know this. This why I am what I am because if I don’t get them first then I know for damn sure they’ll try to get me. I’m just worry about Amiyah getting caught in between.”
To Erik it seem like Durk just wanted was best for his sister. To him family came first. It was important to him. He valued it and would do anything to protect the ones he love. Erik comprehend this.
“You worried she won’t be able to know who and who not to trust?”
“Every-fucking-day. That’s why I don’t want her going anywhere besides home and work. I just want the best for her.”
“You should that’s your sister. Just trust her. She not gon let you down.”
Durk looked at Erik, who gave him a sincere look. If there was anybody else he could trust with his life aside from Amiyah it was his friend. His brother. Erik.
____________________________
Amiyah leaned against the register as she wrote down her completed work assignment. Blowing the air out of her mouth she let the pen fall from her fingers and on to the counter. She was exhausted and ready to clock out and lay in her bed. Her mind began to wonder about the events that transpired over the weekend.
The last time she spoke to Erik was after he dropped her off. He sent a text asking if she made it in safely and that was it. Nothing else since then. His on and off again of inconsistency irritated her. She wanted him to be all about her just as much as she was for him. Of course under the circumstances they had to be cautious but he didn’t have to go another two days without hitting her up.
Checking the time on her Apple Watch she had an hour left before she was up and out of the boutique. She started cleaning certain areas and rehanging the merchandise back onto the racks to make time go by faster. Hearing the sound of the bell ring brought her back to reality.
“Welcome to Bella Ella’s.” She greeted them without looking up and only focusing on her task out of habit.
“Thank you. Hey girl!”
Peering in the direction of the voice she saw Alexis. She was going through the dress section. Amiyah sighed inwardly before walking over to her.
“Hi welcome back. Can I help you look for anything?” She faked a smile.
“Yes actually, I’m looking for something the same as last time just not too revealing this time. I want to tease him. You know?” Alexis sent her a smirk as she walked in front of one of the mannequins observing the clothes.
Hesitant but curious Amiyah asked her. “For another date?”
“Uh you can say something like that. It’s a surprise.” Alexis eyed her up and down.
“Well we have this ruched bodycon dress. It’s an off the shoulder long sleeve lace type of look. I think it’ll fit you. Check it out.” She handed her the dress.
Alexis put the dress up to her frame. Looking in the mirror she smiled at the choice of clothing. Shaking her head she grinned pointing her finger at Amiyah.
“See girl you get me. It’s crazy. Almost like we like the exact same thing.”
“You can say that again.” Amiyah whispered under her breath.
“Huh?”
“Oh I was just talking to myself. If you’re ready I can ring you out.”
They walked to the counter. Amiyah logged in and scanned the dress. Folding it up and putting it a bag she heard Alexis speak.
“Girl how do you do it?”
“Do what?” Amiyah answered confused.
“Work a nine to five. I mean don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just that I personally wouldn’t do it.” She smiled.
“ I like working honestly. I get to meet new people. I have fun here sometimes. This is where I met my best friend and I get to get away from home.” Amiyah shrugged her shoulders as she spoke truthfully.
Alexis nodded slowly. “Right. So are you seeing anyone? Anybody caught your attention?”
Laughing lightly Amiyah shook her head. “No. I met this one guy and gave him my number but nothing popped off yet.” She was talking about Cane.
“Hm if that don’t work out you should let me hook you up. I know a few niggas that’ll blow ya back out and then pay ya bills after.” Alexis grabbed her bag and started to walk away.
Before she could stop herself the question came out faster than she expected. “Is that what you do?”
She stopped midway before turning back around. Her face was contorted. Sizing Amiyah up as she stepped in front of the counter.
“Bitch I do whatever the fuck I have to do to get what I want. Even if it mean that I have to fuck around here and there. It keeps my bills paid and my nails from getting dirty. Maybe I could teach you a thing or two.” She gave her one last look before she strutted out the shop.
Amiyah rolled her eyes. Taking a ‘How to get a man’ class from Alexis was the last thing on her list. Girls like her and Amiyah don’t mix too well. She just couldn’t understand how you could trade in time spent on a fake relationship just to get what you want with true happiness.
Her shift was finally coming to an end. Amiyah sent her brother a text fifteen minutes early just so he would be on time to pick her up. Looking towards the entrance her coworker Kacy was coming in to relieve her.
“Hey Kace, it was pretty much a slow day so there’s not any go-backs that you have to do. I would just try to act like you’re cleaning up. Look busy because you know Rhonda be watching the cameras.”
They both laughed.
“I know. She think she slick but go ahead and get out of here. Enjoy the rest of the day. See ya Amiyah.”
Waving goodbye Amiyah exited the boutique. There she spotted her brother waiting outside in his all blacked out Audi A4. She strolled in his direction and got in.
“Wow it’s been forever since you’ve been here on time.” She teased fastening her seatbelt.
Durk kissed his teeth as he pulled off driving to their home. “How was work?”
“Boring I do the same thing everyday.”
“So quit.” He took a quick glance at her.
She sighed irritated. “I’m not quitting my job Durk.”
“You the one who said it’s boring. Just quit.” He laughed.
Amiyah rolled her eyes. “Why? So you can keep your eyes on me 24/7. You always trying to babysit me, damn.” She snapped at him. The mood changed instantly.
Durkio’s jaw clenched as he turned looking at her with his eyes blinking rapidly.
“Babysit you? Where the fuck you get me trying to babysit you from telling you to quit-“
“I know that’s what your intentions are! Not that you care about me not liking my job but because you just want me to have to depend on you and ask you for everything!” Amiyah’s voice kept getting higher with every word.
“Miyah you already depend on me. That two thousand dollar bed that you sleeping on I brought that. Your whole bedroom set, I brought it. The apartment that you living in comfortablely without worry about having to pay one muthafuckin bill, is because of ME!”
Durkio’s hand gripped the steering wheel tightly as he parked in front of their building. He could feel his breathing began to spike as he felt himself get more agitated and angry. Getting out of the car he headed towards the entrance to avoid going any further with her.
Amiyah jumped out and followed closely behind going inside. The elevator ride going to their floor was quiet and tensed. Amiyah tried her best to not argue with her brother but she had more to get off her chest that she didn’t want to go unheard.
“You know you’re a fuckin control freak.” She slammed her purse and jacket on the couch one they made it threw the door.
Durk paused his steps from going into his room.
“How? Tell me what I do Amiyah.” He walked leaning against the counter with his hand folded over the other waiting for her to talk.
“Durk stop playing dumb. Everything that I do you have to be a part of somehow. Like the time I couldn’t take the job offer from the mall because it was ‘too far’. Or how whenever I want to hangout with Kelley you think I’m going to fuck some man-“
“That’s because you are! I know Saturday night you ain’t go out with no fucking Kelley dress the way you were. I’m not fucking stupid Amiyah.”
Amiyah got in his face. “Why would I go fuck someone and I’m still a virgin Derrick. I’m not dumb. I’m not just sleeping with any and everyone.”
Her eyes burned with tears threatening to fall.
Durk used his forearm to move her out of his space. It triggered him whenever someone would walk up to him with disrespect. He knew he would never put his hands on his sister but he didn’t want to feel the urge like he would so he gave her a light push.
“Miyah back the fuck up.” His jaws were tensed and his nostrils became flared out.
“So you can speak your mind but I can’t? I’m not your girl Durk so stop putting rules and regulations on me like I am. I wish our parents were still here so I wouldn’t have to be in this shit hole of a place you call home.”
Amiyah’s blood was boiling. She spoke without thinking. She let her emotions get to the best of her before she could calm down to try and talk to her brother like the young adults they were. But it was too late. She’d gone too far.
Durk shook his head before releasing a dark chuckle.
“You an ungrateful ass bitch, you know that?” His voice spoke lowly but loud enough for her to hear.
Amiyah looked at him in disbelief as the tears came down her face.
“I had to put my life on hold to take care of you. I put myself at risk everyday just to make sure you’re taken care of. So that you won’t have to go out there doing anything you didn’t want to do just to put food in your mouth and clothes on your back. And this how you show some fuckin appreciation?”
He looked at her confused.
“Durk I do appreciate-“
“Get the fuck out my crib.” His voice spoke coldly.
“What?” She unfolded her arms before she walked towards him.
“You heard what I said. By the time I get back you better be gone. Good luck supporting yourself with that weak ass job.”
With that being the last thing spoken to her he brushed past her shoulder and left. Amiyah waited in the same spot hoping that her brother would come back and just tell her to forget this whole argument. But he didn’t.The tears that she thought she had control of were now cascading down her face nonstop.
“What the fuck did I just do!” She scolded herself as her hands covered her face.
She walked to her room. Pushing her door opened her eyes scouted around the room taking in all of her belongings. Where would she go? What could she take? How much could she take without having a vehicle of her own?
Walking over to her bed she sat in silence. She had to think. She had to find away to get her out of the mess that she put herself in. Picking up her phone she dialed the number of the only person she could run to without judgment.
“Hey, Kelley.”

Erik rolled up to Frank’s Auto Garage. It was time for him to go on the mission. His attire was all black to make himself easily invisible in the shadows. Getting out and walking to his trunk he popped it opened and lifted his secret compartment befor grabbing a duffel bag.
Closing the trunk behind he locked it using his key fob and walked to the front door. He banged four times doing the code knock before he was invited in. One of Durks look out men opened the door.
“Oh shit, what’s good E. You working tonight?”
Giving a silent head nod of approval Erik dapped him up.
“Ok. Well boss is in management. I don’t know what’s going on but he definitely not in the mood. Tread lightly man.”
Taking note Erik walked to the room where Durk was. When he reached it he saw him sitting at his desk talking to someone that he never seen before. Erik tapped lightly on the door making his presence known.
Durk eyes shifted up. “Erik what’s good? Why you knocking? You my brother, you know you ain’t gotta do that.”
“Didn’t wanna interrupt. What’s good? How you doing?” Erik gave him dap with a hug. When they pulled apart he looked in his eyes trying to find an answer. Durk was hiding something.
“Yeah I’m straight. But I want you to meet the person who gon be going with you tonight.” He replied quickly before walking back to his desk.
The guy that sat there quietly got up from his seat. From Erik’s view he didn’t look too much younger than him. He seen his attire matched his as he seen that the young dude already had some leather gloves and a ski mask rested on his head.
Erik gave him a fist pump. “What’s up, I’m Erik.”
“Cane. Nice to meet you bro.”
Durk watched the two interact before interrupting.
“Alright it’s almost 3am. Just got word that nigga Shawn was at the club,which should be closing now. If y’all make it to the address before him-“
“That’ll give us time to find an area to stakeout and then bum-rush him. Catch him off guard.” Cane spoke.
Durk turned to look at Erik before smirking giving him a ‘I told you’ look.
“Exactly. Listen just make sure y’all get the M and dip.” He was referring to the million dollars stashed away.
“I know how this go. Just make sure this nigga straight before we go out there. You know what you doing lil nigga?” Erik questioned Cane.
He kissed his lips. “Look man this ain’t my first rodeo and if I didn’t know what I was doing I’m sure ya boy wouldn’t be calling me.”
“Whoa nigga you owe me a solid. Don’t act like I need you.” Durk stepped in to check him.
Cane waved the two off.
“Aight I trust ya judgment Durk but if shit hit the ceiling, you bailing me out nigga.”
Durk laughed. “Nigga get fuck and go get my money.”
They dapped one last time and Erik left with Cane trailing behind him. He went up to a shelf that had multiple sets of keys sitting on it. Erik grabbed one before walking to the back. There were five different cars out there. He hit the unlock button on the key fob that led him to a dark burgundy Toyota. It was the getaway car for the night. Erik never used his own when he had to do jobs.
He opened the back door and place the duffel bag in the bag. It had two Beretta M9’s, an Ak-47, as well as a roll of duck tape and rope in case the situation went left. Erik got in the driver side. He heard Cane slipping in the passenger seat as he place the address in. It would take them 37 minutes to get there.
Glancing at the clock it was now 2:24 am which gave them plenty of time to find a place for a hideout. Entering the highway Erik and Cane rode in a comfortable silence. Cane every now and then giving Erik a quick glance over before turning his head.
Some time had past when they noticed that they were arriving in the neighborhood of the house where Shawn stayed. The houses were a few yards away from each other but Erik knew that they would still be able to hear the sound of a gun if one went off.
“If you park on this side that bush will be a blind spot. That nigga won’t be able to see us when he pull up.” Cane pointed to the area.
Erik shook his head in agreement. “I was thinking the same thing.”
Pulling into the spot Erik parked the vehicle and shut it off. The light from one of the houses landscape slightly shined in the car to make it possible for them to see each other as they waited.
“So you the infamous Erik I heard about. Ya name got some clout to it with all them licks you did when you was coming up.” Cane broke the silence.
Ignoring his comment Erik reached in the back unzipping the duffel and taking out one of the Berettas. He began to load the clip.
“I never thought I see the day where I would be doing a job with you. Heard you was one hard ass nigga”
Chuckling Erik stopped to face Cane. “What you want an autograph or something. Damn nigga you sound like a fan.”
Cane smacked his lips and then laughed.“Aight you got it. But nah I’m just showing respect to an OG.”
“I don’t look that much older than you.”
“Still one of the OG’s.” Cane showed him respect.
“I appreciate the courtesy. I heard some good things about you as well.” Erik was referring to his previous conversation with Durk.
Cane shrugged. “I do a lil sumn.”
Reaching in the back Erik pulled out the Ak-47 and handed it to him.
“So then you should be able to handle this then.” He was testing him.
“What! This is personally my favorite. This thing could make any nigga dance.”
Erik laughed watching the thrill of excitement in Canes eyes. He reminded him of himself when he was first getting started. Ready and down for everything.
The headlights of a Cadillac SUV caught their attention. It was Shawn pulling up. They watched as he hopped out the driver side.
“Heard this nigga keep one on him. You think he gon try and pull it.” Cane took the safety off of the AK. He was talking about his piece.
“I don’t give a fuck what that nigga got. He better not flinch.” Erik pulled the mask over his face. He watched Shawn walk to his passenger side and opened the door.
“Oh shit! This nigga got a bitch with him.” Cane blurted out.
“Plans don’t change. It is what it is.” Erik spoke truthfully. He had to get the job done.
Cane nodded his head and pulled his mask down. They watch Shawn walk to the front door with the girl following close by. Three minutes later the couple went inside the house.
Erik and Cane exited the vehicle making their way onto the front lawn. Staying away from the security lights they crept on the side. There was a side door that they found that lead right into the kitchen. Peaking through the crack of the blinds Erik spotted the two in livingroom sitting on the couch facing the opposite way.
“Let me pick this lock.” Cane bent down to eye level with it. It took him nothing but a minute to get it open.
Quietly Erik turned the knob and entered. Both him and Cane slowly tipped toe to the livingroom putting a gun to both of their heads. Erik had Shawn and Cane had the girl.
“If you want you and your girl to make it to see another day I suggest you to comply with my instructions and not try anything stupid.” Erik threatened as he cocked the gun.
Shawn froze in his seat as the girl next to him started to scream. Cane hopped over the couch and snatched her up by the arm.
“Bitch shut the fuck up before I put a bullet in yo head. You know what get against the wall and stare at that muthafucka.” He pushed her towards the wall.
“Y’all niggas know who I am?” Shawn finally spoke up.
“Yeah nigga. Why else you think we here? We just want the money. It’s simple.” Erik negotiated with him. He pulled him off the couch by his shirt.
“I don’t know what you talkin-“ He was interrupted by Cane hitting him in the mouth with the butt of his gun.
“Nigga quit fuckin playing with us. Run that shit.”
Erik shook his head but smirked. This was one reckless ass dude and he liked it.
The girl screamed again. Erik could hear the terror in her voice. It sounded like she was going to cry.
“You got five minutes to give us that money or you and ya bitch die. Which one is it? Yo life or some dead presidents”
Cane started to run the show and Erik let him as he sat back and watched.
“Aight nigga. It’s in the fucking safe.” Shawn spit the blood out of his mouth.
“Lead the way then bitch.” Cane pushed him and followed him to the back.
Erik was left alone with the girl who was facing the wall. From behind she had a bad ass body. Gazing over her wardrobe she was Burberry down and her fire red locks fell down her back. He kept glancing back and forth between the dark hallway and her back before Erik finally heard a few words slip out of her lips.
“Please don’t hurt me.” She pleaded.
The moment her voice reached his ears his face scrunched up. Walking up to her he turned her around to face him. Backing up he put his gun down shaking his head with disbelief.
The bitch that Shawn had with him was Alexis.

Love to Hate Me
Requested by: @NuclearPizza84
Word Count: 2314
Pairing: Erik Lehnsherr x mutant!black!fem!reader
Warnings: swearing, fighting, fire, use of mutant abilities, Erik being an ass
(Y/N)'s POV
Picking up my book, I flipped through the pages. Yeah, I'll leave the science stuff to Charles.
"(Y/N), I would like to introduce you to my new friend Erik. He'll be staying with us while I build up the school. Erik, this is my younger sister (Y/N)." Charles said as he walked into the living room. I looked up, waving at Erik.
"Hello, nice to meet you." I got up and held my hand out for him to shake, but he just looked at it then looked back at me. Well that was rude.
"(Y/N), do you know where Raven is?" Charles didn't seem to notice his new 'friend' being a dick.
"Last time I checked she was in her room. She might be taking a nap right now though." I explained as I pointed in the direction of the bedrooms. Charles nodded and made his way down the hall, leaving me and Erik alone.
"So do you have any abilities?" Erik finally spoke up. So he does speak. Good to know.
"I can control and create fire. You?"
"Now why would I tell you that?"
"So I tell you mine but you're gonna bitch about me knowing yours? Seems totally fair." I sassed as I crossed my arms over my chest. Erik rolled his eyes, brushing past me and going in the same direction as Charles. Asshole.
----
6 months.
6 months of having to deal with that asshole named Erik Lehnsherr. Surprised I haven't 'accidently' killed him yet. Charles had gotten the school set up to open in the fall, so me, Raven, Hank, Alex, Seth, and him have been perfecting courses for any possible mutation our future students might have. Erik was supposed to be helping, but he spent most of the time complaining about the way things were playing out.
"I'm glad to see that all our hard work has paid off." Erik announced as he walked into one of the training rooms. This specific one was made to withstand high temperatures, so it was perfect for me and Alex to use for practice.
"Your work? You ain't done shit this whole process." I said as I took off my gloves.
"Like you have? Every time I run into you you seem to just be standing at your desk." Erik scoffed.
"I'm the one who's been hiring all the builders and chefs, Erik. I'm the one who's spent 20 hours a week contacting parents and trying to convince them that we can properly care for their child. And what have you been doing? Walking around and putting your unwanted opinions in the air. So don't come to me talking about how I'm the one who hasn't done any work."
"Is everything alright here?" Charles asked as he walked in.
"Your sister is being a bitch." Erik said calmly.
"I'm being a bitch? Real mature." I rolled my eyes, turning my attention to what I was doing before Erik interrupted me. As I was getting a mannequin from the storage room, I felt a pull on my bracelet. What the hell? I looked up to see Erik holding his hand out in the general direction of my arm. "So you're seriously gonna do this?"
"(Y/N), Erik, enough. Now is not the time." Charles warned. Before he could step in, Erik used his powers to push him out the room, locking the door.
"That's better. Now, shall we begin?" Erik asked as he took off his jacket and threw it on the floor. I took off my bracelet, throwing it at him.
"I'm not wasting my time with this, Erik. I have training to do."
"So you're backing out, just like that? That's a shame. I thought (Y/N) Xavier would have more courage than that."
"You want to fight, Lehnsherr? Fine, let's fight." I huffed out as I summoned a fireball, purposefully missing him by an inch. He dodged it, although it wasn't going to hit him anyway.
"There we go! Come on, don't hold back." Erik shouted as he slipped my bracelet back onto my arm, pulling me towards the wall. I focused all the heat in my body to my wrist, melting off the bracelet. That was one of my favorites. I made a trail of fire around the room, taking it up and down the walls and around the ceiling. The final curve made a circle around Erik, trapping him where he stood.
"Is that good enough for you?" I asked as I dusted my hands on my pants. Erik tried to step closer to me, causing it to grow high enough to reach his waist. "Is this what you wanted? For you to be 6 steps away from catching fire? Because if so, all you had to do was ask."
"Oh don't be like that, (Y/N). You know this is all in good fun." Erik gasped out.
"Do I? Because the whole time that we've known each other, you've been an ass. I tried to properly introduce myself, you ignored me. I offered to show you around the grounds, you called me a silly girl and walked off. I even offered to help you train, but you just pushed past me. I have tried multiple times to get to know you, yet everytime you act like a dick. So no, Erik Lehnsherr, I don't know that this is all in good fun, because I don't know you at all!" I shouted. Each word I got closer, and each sentence I became more and more upset. The fire grew bigger, the circle around Erik closing more and more the angrier I got. Erik didn't speak, he just hung his head down in shame. Pathetic. "So now you have nothing to say?"
"(Y/N), I didn't-" Erik was cut off by the sound of the doors swinging open, Charles and Raven standing there. I extinguished the fire, brushing past the two of them and running to my room.
----
Erik's POV
"Why can't you just get along? What's the point of the useless bickering and fighting? What has she done to deserve this kind of treatment?" Charles shouted as he paced back and forth in front of his desk.
"Charles, you know I never meant for it to get as bad as it did just now. I thought that I was helping her." I explained as I watched him pace.
"I know that Erik, but you can't expect the woman you've treated like gum on the bottom of your shoe to know that. Why can't you just tell her the truth? (Y/N) is very understanding."
"It's not that simple, Charles. Especially after all this time. She hates me."
"You'll never know until you try. At least start with an apology. While you're doing that, I'm going to go asses the damage in the training room. I wish you luck, my friend." Charles patted me on my shoulder, walking out of the room.
This is not going to go well for me.
----
(Y/N)'s POV
"What's going on between you and Erik? I mean, I know the two of you have never gotten along that well, but it's never gotten to the point where the two of you use your abilities against each other." Raven asked as she sat on my bed, handing me a cup of tea.
"There's nothing going on between us, that's the problem. Ever since he's gotten here, he's done nothing but pick at me. I've tried to be nice to him, but he always shuts me down. It wouldn't be so annoying if he wasn't so fucking hot." I grumbled as I took a sip of tea.
"What did you just say?" Raven asked as she looked at me in shock.
"What?" I didn't say anything out of the ordinary.
"You just called Erik hot." Shit.
"What? No I didn't." I avoided her eyes, setting my tea on my dresser. Wow, that's very nice wood work. How have I just now noticed this?
"Yes you did! I definitely heard you say it." Raven said as she moved to stand in front of me. I sighed, rolling over so I was facing the window. "(Y/N), tell me the truth. Do you like Erik?"
"Maybe." I whispered.
"Well why haven't you asked him out yet?"
"Did you not see what happened earlier today? Erik clearly hates me, and I don't think that that's ever going to change. So why even bother." I explained as I rolled onto my back. Raven laid next to me, putting my head on her chest and rubbing my back.
"I don't think he hates you, (Y/N). I just think he doesn't know how to properly express his feelings. He's been through a lot, so it might take a lot to bring down those walls. Just give him time, I'm sure things will fall into place."
"You sound like our brother." I mumbled as I closed my eyes. She giggled, patting me on my arm.
"Well, I am the one who has to sit there and listen to his stupid thesis, because somebody just so happens to be asleep whenever he needs opinions."
"Yeah, well you spend enough time listening to Charles and you'll learn how to avoid his 3 hour long thesis."
----
It's been 2 weeks since the incident, and Erik hasn't even attempted to make it look like he hasn't been avoiding me. I went back to helping make final preparations for the start of school, and Erik went back to whatever the hell it was he was doing.
"(Y/N), Charles said that he wants to talk to you in his study." Alex said as he walked up to.
"About what?"
"He didn't say, just said that it was urgent." He walked off, leaving me to make my way to Charles' study. Wonder what he wants now. I knocked on the door, pushing the door open slightly.
"Charles? What's up?" I asked as I stepped in. Charles wasn't at his desk, but there was someone sitting in front of the desk. Erik.
"He isn't here."
"Yeah, I can see that. Guess I'll come back later." I said softly as I moved to leave the office.
"(Y/N), wait." Erik called as he softly grabbed my hand. I looked at him, then down at our hands. We've never actually touched before. "I want to apologize for what happened a few weeks ago. And for how I've been treating you ever since we met. You've done nothing to deserve that."
"Apology accepted, I guess. Is there something else you need?" I asked as I looked him in the eyes. I think I just found my new favorite shade of blue.
"Yes there is. I guess there is no time like the present." Erik said as he looked down at me.
"What are you talking about?"
"Follow me." He said. He didn't give me much of a choice, he just grabbed my hand and pulled me somewhere more private. He walked towards the stairwell, taking me onto the roof.
"What, are you gonna push me off the roof or something?" I joked as I looked over the ledge. It is a pretty far drop.
"Why would I ever do that?" Erik asked as he stepped closer to me.
"I don't know, maybe because you hate my guts." I said nonchalantly. Something flashed across his eyes, but it quickly disappeared.
"(Y/N), I would never do anything to hurt you." Erik whispered.
"Really? Why have you been treating me the way you have then?" I crossed my arms over my chest, tilting my head to the side slightly.
"Because I think I love you." He said softly. My heart skipped a beat, causing my breathing to slow a little.
"What?"
"I said I think I love you. And I think I fell for you the moment that I saw you. That's why I was such an ass; I wasn't sure how to properly show you how I felt. That's not an excuse for my actions, though. You don't have to accept my confession, but I just thought that I'd let you know. I'll leave you alone for now."
Before Erik could walk away, I grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him down so we were eye to eye. I looked in his eyes, then to his lips, then back at his eyes. "If you're going to kiss me, go ahead and do it." I said softly I gave Erik a slight smile. He leaned down some more, our lips brushing. I pulled him down more, our lips finally meeting. I've been waiting for this moment for almost 7 months now.
"Sorry, I didn't realize that I was interrupting something." Charles' voice called from the entrance to the roof. Erik and I pulled apart, turning our attention towards Charles.
"You're always messing something up, Charles. What was it you needed?" I asked, not stepping away from Erik.
"It's not important. Carry on you two." Charles said as he made his way back into the house. I turned to Erik and slapped his chest lightly.
"You didn't think to lock the door?"
"Well to be fair, most normal people don't go onto the roof when they're looking for someone." Erik explained as he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him.
"We both know that Charles is far from normal. He probably used his telepathic abilities to find us." He said as he looked back at the stairwell door. I giggled, turning his head back to face me and giving him a quick peck on the lips.
"Or he set this up to get you to confess your feelings." I said as I leaned my head against his chest. He seemed to mull over the thought for a second before letting out a scoff.
"That little shit."

Chapter Nine: Challenges
With some trepidation, Charles readjusted his grip on the gun and extended his arm. He let out a slow breath and looked to Erik. Taking a step back, he stood with an anxious expression on his face.
"You're sure?" Charles asked, the others were off training, but I stayed to watch the two men from the stone bench I was sitting on. I watched with a sigh as Charles pointed a gun at Erik.
"I'm sure," Erik nodded eagerly, smiling almost manically.
Oh, boy. I knew Erik and I were foolhardy enough when he fired his gun to test his abilities and then me following in his footsteps to test my own powers, but I didn't think he was stupid enough to have a gun fired at him point blank. I liked Erik, but why did he always want to do things that could potentially kill someone or himself.
"All right," Charles sighed, and slowly moved to place his finger against the trigger. Even as his finger was gently placed against it, his frown if anything grew, lowering his arm he shook his head. "No. No, I can't. I'm sorry," he gave in lowering the gun. "I can't shoot anybody point blank, let alone my friend,"
"Thank you, Charles for seeing sense," I remarked dryly, looking up from my reading.
"Oh come on!" Erik said while reaching out and grasping onto his arm and lifting the gun back up. "You know I can deflect it!" he asserted while pushing the gun against his forehead again. "You're always telling me I should push myself," he reasoned simply.
"If you know you can deflect it, then you're not challenging yourself," Charles lectured, lowering his arm again and giving Erik the gun back. "Whatever happened to the man who's...who's trying to raise a submarine?" he reminded.
"Oh, boy. Don't give him anymore ideas, Charles," I commented dryly again, snapping my book shut as I rose from my seat, straightening my skirt and letting my fingers glide over the buttons that went down the center.
"Well, it's gotten the job done all this time," Erik pointed out.
"It's nearly gotten you killed all this time," Charles corrected, he looked around as I turned my attention to the radio satellite in the distance.
"There's a challenge," I thought, catching Charles' stare and he nodded in agreement.
"I have to leave," Charles began, checking his watch before looking up at us. "I need to start setting up for Alex's training. I'll see you two later," he stated, and Erik and I watched as he took the path back into the mansion.
"You're a bit dressed up for training today," Erik commented, his eyes traveling from my simple cream colored blouse down to my maroon colored plaid skirt and finally onto my black pumps.
"I know! Do you like it?" I asked grinning, and holding both sides of the skirt and twirling before it found itself settling down to rest just below the mid thigh once again.
The sun had peaked in the sky, warming the fall day to the perfect level of warmth against our skin and making my golden, brown skin glow. Erik scanned quickly over what I was wearing, his eyes seemingly zeroing on my stockingless legs.
"Well Erik? I don't have all day,"
The sudden remark snapped him out of his daze. My voice contained a little snippiness as it did sometimes, but there was an equal amount of playfulness to it as well.
"I've seen better," he mentioned, and I narrowed my eyes upon him. Our stare down dragged out for five seconds, before Erik's lip started to quirk, struggling to contain his smile.
"I hate you Erik, so much," I uttered, stabbing my index finger into his chest. "And for the record, you're pretty average yourself, so I wouldn't get too cocky," I added flatly, a smile of my own forming.
"Has this always been your nature?" Erik asked with a smirk.
"I don't know what you mean," I replied, arching my brow and mirroring his smirk.
I made my way back to the balcony the gravel crunching underneath my heels before I hopped up onto the railing and faced Erik again. He moved forward moving from the stair we were standing on. He placed his gun down next to me and I immediately picked the weapon, aiming the weapon over his shoulder.
"Put that down before you hurt somebody or yourself," Erik jested, proud of himself.
I lowered the gun, "Who needs guns, when I can snap your neck with a flick of my wrist," I concurred, placing the gun back down on the balcony. "Or I could just order them to do the deed themselves," I added, with a shrug.
"Strange as it may be, but I want to experience your ability as well," he stated, placing his hands down on the smooth, stone railing. "I'm curious if power is truly terrifying as Charles makes it out to be," Erik gibed, a smug look on his face.
"You're going to choke on your words Erik," I sang, straightening my posture and stared into Erik's eyes.
Erik stared back into mine unflinchingly just as I planted the mental aftertaste of vanilla, He began to sniff. He knew the smell wasn't really there, that I was simply tweaking some nerve in his brain that told him he smelt it, but he sniffed anyway.
"I am shaking in my boots, Claudia," Erik commented dryly.
But now, that perfume didn't smell so sweet, he felt terror flood his mind almost like an offensive odor. I conveyed to him the feeling of cold seeping into his bones and water filling his lungs to the extent Erik physically choked.
Drowning.
I released him from my hold and stared at him as his coughing fit wracked his body, I smirked and jumped down from the down balcony. I patted Erik on his back as if I was burping a small baby and Erik just turned and looked at me still coughing, but not as violently.
"Told you I was going to make you choke," I quipped, and made my back into the mansion.
~~~x~~~
I wandered the mansion for a while my heels clacking against the cherry wood, very surprised to find that no one was in sight. I remembered that Charles was training with Alex and took the path to the bunker to see if today would yield better results for Alex. There was quite a bit of banging from what seemed to be in the bunker and low murmur of voices as I approached closer.
Just as I entered I watched Hank and Charles wrestle a vest of some sort on Alex. I joined the three of them my heels clicking on the metal floor alerting them to my presence, I lifted an eyebrow at what Alex was wearing now being able to fully see what it was. Alex had this new device strapped against him. It was a metal circular disk and my educated guess was it's supposed to center Alex's power into one place and shoot out as a beam.
Alex stared down at the thing with slight despair, "Sexy," he commented dryly.
I moved next to him and winked, "Innit? It compliments your eyes," I agreed smiling.
Hank smiled sheepishly, "Well this is just the prototype. The real one will look considerably better. It'll be a whole suit. See these sensors measure your energy I'll put this panel focus in and the excess is absorbed," Hank answered in a long winded explanation.
"You're sure this will work Hank?" Charles asked, a smile on his lips from Hank's excited explanation.
"Anything's possible," Hank answered breathlessly.
"Good enough for me," Charles said, and then pointed at the new three dummies, specifically at the one in the center that had a large ‘X’ tapped from its shoulder blades to its hips. "Alright try hitting the one in the middle, just the one in the middle, mind. Good luck," he concluded, leading Hank and I out the room.
Charles quickly closed the door behind us it wasn't long before I heard a loud explosion from within the bunker. Placing my hand on the handle of the door to open it I felt Charles' hand on mine halting my movement, that's when another thunderous explosion echoed throughout the bunker along with the sound of soft thud, like a body falling. The red light flickered on and I pulled open one of the doors as Hank opened the other one.
"For goodness sake..." Charles trailed off, once again looking at the fiery destruction that Alex caused. "Hank, Hank take care of that for me will ya," he requested, pointed to the now burning mannequins. I knelt down on the left of Alex as Charles knelt down on his right. "You alright?" Charles asked concern present in his voice.
"Yep," Alex replied, out of breath.
"Are you sure?" I questioned, staring at burning mannequins that were placed on the left and right before looking back at Alex.
"Yes," Alex answered again, regaining his breath.
"Can you stand?" Charles inquired, grasping Alex's arm and I did the same just as Alex nodded yes and the two of us pulled Alex from the floor. All of us looked at the blaze in front of us again while Hank tried to extinguish it. "Well, it's progress anyway," he acknowledged, looking at Alex. "At least it's coming from only one direction now. You will learn to control this eventually Alex but-" Charles started.
"But for now I get to wear energy diapers," Alex interjected irritatedly and stormed off. "Thanks Bozo!" Alex fumed, leaving the bunker.
"Oh Alex, you're so dramatic,"  I thought.
~~~x~~~
I hummed to myself as I moved down the hall looking for something to do, turning the corner I slowed my pace and stopped at a window and looked outside. Charles and Hank had changed into sweats. They were going on a run themselves. Hank saw me and I gave him a thumbs for good luck, he smiled weakly in return. I stepped back from the window and continued my search for human life in the mansion, turning down the hall I heard metal clanking. Someone's in the gym. I moved closer, but stopped when I was a few feet from the entrance because of a certain voice I heard.
"If you're using half your concentration to look normal, then you're only half paying attention to whatever else you're doing. Just pointing out something that could save your life," There was the sound of something heavy and metal moving. "You want society to accept you, but you can't even accept yourself,"
He was talking to Raven. I was irritated, suddenly and inexplicably irritated. But why? All Erik was doing was trying to encourage Raven to be herself. Erik came out of the weight room and walked away from the room but stopped when he saw me. I swiftly masked my expression with a smile, barely having time to process my true feelings.
I walked forward as did Erik, "Now that's a surprise," I began, meeting his gaze. "It's not everyday Erik Lehnsherr boosts your self-esteem," I joked, my voice low so Raven couldn't hear us.
"You overheard me talking to Raven?" he asked, matching my tone.
"Yes," I nodded.
"What do you make of it?" Erik questioned, folding his arms together.
"I think you made a great point. It doesn't matter if she's blue," I agreed. "To me at least," I added.
"It doesn't?"
"No. But it's up to her to decide," I stated giving him a pointed look, before walking past him.
"I see..." Erik murmured. "Claudia!" Erik called, and I spun around to face him. "I lied earlier," Erik remembered.
I let out a chuckle, "Oh, and what would that be about?" I questioned, arching a brow.
"You look fantastic, truly stunning," Erik complimented.
I rolled my eyes, trying to suppress a smile, that slowly seeped through. I looked to the ground, hoping that he wasn't watching my reaction to his compliment. Looking up through my eyelashes, I met his eyes. The two of us watching each other before my smile widened and I slowly walked backwards until I faced the right direction.
"Hard at work I see," I observed smirking from the entrance, before entering the room. Raven was in her blue form, something that will still take time for me to get use to.
"Well aren't you all dressed up," Raven commented, putting a pair of dumbbells back. "I take it you're not training today," Raven stated, gesturing with her hand in regards to my outfit.
"Nope," I answered, popping the 'p'. "Charles gave me the day off, said we'll pick back up tomorrow," I explained, moving about the room and letting my hand running along the gym equipment.
Raven lips quirked up into a smile as blue rippled down her, transforming her back into her fair skinned form.
"Must be nice to have him wrapped around your finger. All you have to do is bat your eyelashes and Charles will do anything for you,"
I found Raven looking me almost expectantly, a grin on her face like she knew something I didn't.
"He is not wrapped around my finger," I argued, shaking my head smiling and Raven's grin grew wider. I definitely didn't 't know what she was thinking now. "What?" I asked, throwing my hands up.
"Nothing. It's just cute," Raven answered simply, with a shrug.
I gave an incredulous look, my hands on my hips, "What's cute?"
Raven laughed, almost a giggle. "You two. You know, a telepath and an empath. In lo—"
"Raven!" I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Come on. You're interested in him, admit it!"
I narrowed my eyes, "I'm not interested in him," I protested, knowing it was a flat out lie.
What Raven's prying eyes didn't know wouldn't hurt her.
"In whom?" Charles's voice startled the both of us from the open doorway of the room, and we both glanced at each other with wide eyes as he leaned against the door frame, evidently done with his running with Hank. He stood there, calm and collected as he looked between the two of us, awaiting our answers with that hint of a smile on his lips.
As if he didn't already know.
~~~x~~~
There were a few things I was concerned about on the way to the mall. Of course, I'm always for the opportunity to buy new clothes, but I didn't have much money on me to pay for my purchases. Not only that, the thought of where in the hell would a black woman like myself be able to shop in Upstate New York crossed my mind. I could envision those three familiar words that have plagued me my whole life.
'No Coloreds Allowed'
When I brought this up Charles tried to assuage my concern.
"Don't worry, I know a place where you won't be bothered," he assured, flashing me a quick smile.
"Do you always have a hard time shopping?" Erik asked, turning in the passenger seat to look at me.
"In the city no, especially where I lived," I answered, shaking my head. "People are a bit more open and welcoming to someone like me," I explained, looking out the window. "But here in Upstate New York State, this is probably a utopia for rich, white folks," I continued, bringing my attention back to the two men in the car. "No offense Charles," I added, a small smile on my lips.
"None taken,"
"The only time people up here probably see someone of my complexion is if they are 'the help'" I finished.
We arrived at the mall and Charles pulled into the vast parking lot, driving around for a bit before he drove into a vacant parking space just as Moira passed us, parking in the space next to us. I looked out the window and at the mall, it was a large complex crafted in sandstone that was only one story. The three of us simultaneously got out of the car just as the back door to Moira's car opened revealing a grumpy Alex.
"Thank God we're finally here," he grumbled.
I raised an eyebrow curious to know what he could be possible be grumpy about now, but then again it's Alex, he's always moody. It wasn't until I heard the sounds of Sean and Raven chatting excitedly, that I figured out why he was so annoyed.
"You alright Alex?" I asked.
"I'm fine now," he nodded. "I had to get out of there, Claudia. I couldn't take much more of those two. Why couldn't I ride with you three?" Alex asked.
"Adults only car," I answered simply, shrugging my shoulders. "Sorry kid, I don't make the rules," I added smiling, and Alex grumbled some more.
Raven approached me grinning, "I am so excited!" she cheered. "This is great! A real break from all that training and worrying about Shaw trying to kill us all. Finally!"
"Technically, we had a break three days ago because of the rain," I reminded, sticking a finger in the air.
"That doesn't count, we were still stuck in the mansion," Raven argued playfully.
"Everybody ready?" Charles asked us, and everyone nodded. "Let us go, then," he smiled.
The eagerly-chattering batch of teenagers walked ahead as we entered into the crowded mall.
I gawked at the beautiful interior of the mall, "I have never seen a mall look this beautiful," I commented, my eye sweeping over the design.
"Almost like a utopia, right?" Charles asked, a smile on his face. I rolled my eyes at him for referencing my comment earlier, as a smile formed on my lips. "Okay, everyone! Gather around! I got something to say, it won't be long," he announced. "You all are free to explore the mall, but I have two rules. Do not draw attention to yourselves and you must be back at the cars by 6:30," Charles explained. "Am I clear?" he asked, looking around at the younger mutants and they all nodded their heads. "Good, have fun," Charles finished smiling.
The boys immediately took off, Sean and Alex went in one direction while Hank walked in the opposite direction. So, now that just left us with Moira, Charles, Erik, Raven, and I. The five of us made our way down the long galleria, but the quick glittering of something bright in the corner of my eye caused me to stop. As if in a trance I walked over to a jewelry's storefront window display, stopping in front of it I stared at the glittering pieces of the marvelously crafted and elegant jewelry.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" a voice commented, I whipped my head around to see Charles standing behind me flashing a grin. "Do you see something you like?"
I glanced back over to the display case, "Everything," I retorted, causing Charles to chuckle.
"Okay, how about being a bit more specific," he suggested, a playful smile on his face.
"Alright," I began, admiring a particularly lovely necklace. "That one," I stated, pointing to a gorgeous Baltic amber egg shaped pendant on a sterling silver chain. "I never seen anything like it," I smiled, looking over at Charles.
"The diamonds don't catch your fancy?" he asked curiously.
"Well, diamonds are a girl's best friend, but...I don't know why, but this necklace is speaking to me," I explained, folding my arms across my chest.
Charles grinned and began speaking, but I couldn't focus on the words coming out his mouth. It felt as if someone was burning hole through my skull with their stare, turning my head to the left I met the gaze of an older white man. He grinned at me, but the warmth didn't reach his eyes. Just as I was about return the gesture out of courtesy, I was suddenly struck by a pulse.
Lust.
I scrunched my nose, disgusted, I shot the man a glare. I placed my hand on Charles' arm silently telling him that we should go, but he didn't seem to notice my hand. I looked up and into Charles' eyes only to see him glaring at the man as well.
He must have obviously heard whatever thought ran across the perverted man's mind, while I had the unfortunate pleasure of feeling what he was thinking.
Charles placed his hand on my back, "Let's catch up with the others, shall we?" he suggested, but it was more of an order as ushered me away from the jewelry store.
"Gladly,"
~~~x~~~
"Charles?" I prompted, softly. He turned his head in my direction. "It's been about five minutes since our little encounter and I want to know what that dirty, old man was thinking," I explained, meeting his stare.
He rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm almost embarrassed to say," Charles replied, a flush creeping up his neck and to his cheeks.
"Humor me,"
"Alright. Well, to begin with, I could hear the man groan in his mind," Charles started.
I twisted my nose up, "Eww," I broke in, letting out a groan myself.
"This is what the man thought, and I quote, 'Ooo, mama...She's a pretty one. I wouldn't mind getting some of that tonight,'" Charles recited, scrunching his nose up as well. "I feel dirty for even saying those words aloud," he added, as we walked into a department store.
I laughed, "Ditto," I agreed.
It seemed my laughter attracted the attention of a sales rep, a pretty blonde dressed in red, with her hair done up in a flipped bouffant.
"May I help you?" she asked, completely ignored me and directing the question solely at Charles.
"Jesus Christ, this place," I thought.
I lowered my mental barrier and glanced at Charles.
"You're right, I won't be bothered here. They'll just act like I don't exist," I thought. "Or think of me as a sex object. And I can't tell which one is worse,"
"I'll make myself scarce then," I informed, glancing at him one last time.
I sighed and decided to go find Raven, making my way away from them, I heard Charles quickly answer with a 'No' and hurry past the rep. Charles caught my wrist and tried to stop me, but I shook him off.
"Charles, let me have my space," I thought.
I walked away without hindrance and continued on my journey to join Raven who was most likely in the women's department. Following the signs I found the department and Raven who was currently sorting through tops, even though she had plenty of clothes draped across her arm.
"And hear I thought I was the person to buy a ton of clothes," I commented smiling.
"Hey!" she cried, smiling herself. "They're not all for me, I picked stuff out for you to," Raven explained, looking up from her task. "You and Charles were taking to long," Raven added shrugging, and handed me the clothes she picked out.
I examined the clothes and checked the sizes which were strangely correct, "How did you know my size?" I asked, lifting my eyes away from the tag.
"I may have went into your room..." Raven answered, trailing off.
I lifted my eyebrow, "You did what?" I questioned, wanting an explanation.
"I didn't mean to," Raven began, lifting her hands in surrender. "Our laundry got mixed together and I went to return your shirts to your room. I know I shouldn't have, but I went snooping in your closet and drawers, I wanted to know your size in case I wanted to give you a gift or something," she explained, and I could see that she meant well.
"While I appreciate the thought Raven, please don't go in my room unless I say you can," I stated, giving her a pointed look.
She nodded her head, "Won't happen again. I promise," Raven assured.
"Good,"
"So..." Raven trailed off.
"So, what?" I repeated, wondering where this was going.
"So do you like Erik or Charles now? I'm confused," Raven asked as we walked down the aisle to lingerie.
"I beg your pardon? What?” I asked confused, raising my eyebrow again. "I don't like Erik," I stated, shaking my head. "Well, not like that, if that's what you're implying," I added.
"But you do like Charles?" she inquried. "You didn't deny it," Raven pointed out.
"Maybe a little. So what? I'm a big girl," I said shoving her playfully and putting my head on her shoulder as we walked.
"I'm pretty sure he likes you too. I've lived with him for so long and I've never seen him look at anyone the way he looks at you," she explained. "But what's going on with you and Erik?"
I sighed, "Nothing is going on between Erik and I. We're friends, which is something I thought would never say," I laughed, as I began looking through a rack of lacy undergarments.
"So what did I see between the two of you during training a couple of days ago?" Raven asked, looking up from her rack.
My hand paused and I lifted my head to meet Raven's gaze, "Nothing," I answered shrugging. "We were practicing hand to hand combat, he knocked me off my feet and then proceeded to pin me to the ground," I explained, shrugging my shoulders before continue my search through the undergarments. "Nothing you should look too deeply into," I reasoned, trying to convince her.
Or...maybe I was trying to convince myself.
"Speak of the devil, look who it is," I commented, spotting the metal bender approaching us from afar. Raven's face went beet red, I don't know why though, possibly because of Erik approaching us while we're looking though undergarments. "No need to be embarrassed Raven, I'm sure Erik has seen lingerie before," I assured, lifting up a set off the rack. "He's probably even helped a few women out them," I added smirking, picking up another set.
"Dia..." Raven groaned.
"What?" I asked smiling, looking at her. "Erik, you naughty boy," I called, once he was closer to us. Erik rolled his eyes and chuckled, before propping one foot on the bottom of the rack and leaning against it. "What would people think seeing you in this section?" I asked, a playful tone evident in my voice.
"You know I could care less what people think, Claudia,"
"True enough," I conceded. "Speaking of what others think..." I trailed off. "Which one do you like?" I asked lifting both sets of lingerie up, one in each hand.
The set in my left hand was a pale blue embroidered with bright white lace, the fabric was silky and sheer and wonderful to the touch. The undergarment in my right hand, my favorite of the two, was a matching deep red bra and high waisted briefs, that was all lace and satin. The garment was meant for one purpose, seduction.
Erik brought two fingers to his chin and began to rub it as if he was thinking hard, "I don't know, it's hard to choose. Maybe you should model them for me," he suggested smirking.
My eyes widened as I let out a laugh of disbelief and my face heating up from the comment. In the corner of my eye I could see that Raven's jaw nearly dropped to the floor.
Laughing softly at my awed expression, Erik lifted his finger and pointed it to the right, "Choose the red set, the red sets off your black hair and brown eyes, not to mention it goes well with your skin color," he noted, shoving his hands in his pockets.
I nodded my head and smiled, "Thank you Erik for your expert opinion," I grinned, and Erik mirrored my expression before walking off.
"How were you not in the least bit embarrassed?" Raven questioned, her eyes wide.
"It's just underwear, what's to be embarrassed about?" I asked back smiling, with a shrug of my shoulder.
Raven chuckled, "Okay, but what about his modeling joke? I would have been red as a tomato if he said that to me," Raven stated, quickly glancing in the direction that Erik walked away from us.
"I'm quite flattered actually," I quipped, still a smile on my face.
Raven shook her head slightly, "I wish I had your confidence," she said a little sullenly.
"You will...maybe not today or tomorrow...but someday," I reassured, placing a hand on her arm and giving it a reassuring squeeze. "We'll work it on together. Now, come on, let's check out,"
~~~x~~~
I was laying on my back on Raven's bed staring up at the ceiling, my hand trailed up and down her thick warm duvet, the cover a wool and cotton blend.
"I look like terrible like this," she groaned,
I quickly pushed myself up from Raven's sturdy, yet soft mattress, "No! No you don't, you look amazing," I protested, staring at Raven in her true dark blue form.
Raven turned around to face me as her skin changed back to it's fair complexion, her pupils shifted from yellow to blue. She plopped down next to me and sighed as I ran my hand through the white fur throw, I glanced at the picture frame on Raven's dresser that had a picture of her, Charles, and a blonde haired woman that was probably their mother.
"I don't know why would you want to look like you do now? I mean, I understand your opinions and reasons...but why would you want to look your mother?" I questioned, tilting my head.
A tense silence followed the end of my sentence.
Raven slowly craned her toward me, her eyes wide as saucers, "How...did you know that?" she uttered, her skin becoming ashen.
"I'm so sorry," I apologized, turning my body to fully face Raven. "A few days ago you looked upset when you were staring at a picture of your mother. I had my shields down at the same time as I walked by you," I explained, running a hand through my hair. "Just as I was about to reseal my emotions, I felt this sudden wave of self-loathing and the strong desire to look like your mother," I continued, my lips forming a thin line. "Raven, I swear that I was not trying to snoop about your head," I promised, taking a hold of her hand and squeezing it.
Raven awkwardly nodded her head at my confession, I could see the varying emotions appearing on her face. We soaked up the silence.
I released Raven's hand and rose from her bed, "I should starting heading for my room," I announced, finally breaking the quiet and Raven just nodded. I made my way to her bedroom door and put my hand on the doorknob, pausing to look back at her before I left. "And remember Raven, confidence is key," I recited, a soft grin on my face as I opened the door and stepped out.
"Thanks Dia," Raven smiled, a grateful expression on her face. "Good night," she called.
I nodded my head, "Good night," I repeated, closing the door behind me.
Heading back to my room was a quiet affair, there was no one in the hallway, everyone was most likely getting ready for bed. I twisted the knob to my door and entered the room. My bed was buried underneath bags and bags of shopping. A smile grew on my lips at the thought of having new outfits and not being forced to wear the same clothes over and over.
My smile faltered when I spotted an unfamiliar small bag on my night stand. I pushed my door closed and walk over to my bed in confusion. I pick up the note attached to the bag in the front and read it.
Claudia,
I'm sorry about today, from the perverted old man objectifying you to the woman who disregarded your entire existence. You were right about me, I am a bit naive. I thought since there wouldn't be any signs banning you from coming in then there would be no problems. It was a foolish thought, racism doesn't just magically disappear. Though your evening was spoiled I wanted to give you something that truly seemed to bring you joy tonight.
Charles
I reached into the small bag and my fingertips brushed against something soft. Lifting the soft item up I could see now it was a long, velvet jewelry box. My eyes lit up slightly as I had inkling to what I was holding. Flipping open the box, I let out a soft laugh at what I was staring at.
It was that gorgeous Baltic amber necklace I spotted earlier.
Erik should make an Erik mannequin. Maybe they kiss. Maybe one of them is wearing a clown wig when it happens. It’s good maybe. Maybe Christine watches. Maybe the Christine mannequin is there too. Maybe they are also kissing. Maybe both mannequins should kiss. I would like to see it.
Hottest Hot Chocolate - (Erik x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary - Erik and Y/N go out for some Christmas hot chocolate and make some Christmas wishes, but is Erik hiding something?
Warnings - Long, Fluffy, Kissing and Cheesy
Word Count - 1651
I shivered slightly in my jacket trying to burry myself deeper in it. It had finally been starting to snow in Chicago and I couldn’t have been more excited about it except from right now trying to trudge my way to the maid café for some hot chocolate.
“You cold? Princess?”
I nod my head sighing watching my breath swirl in the air. I’m a bit taken by surprise when Erik puts his arm around my shoulder and pulls me closer to him. I quickly lean into it, feeling my face flush madly while doing so when he leans so close to my ear, I can feel his breath. “Guess you’ll just have to walk next to me.”
I blush more and look up to him -probably grinning like an idiot- to see him looking back at me adoringly making butterflies flutter in my stomach. There are small flakes of snow in his hair which is gently covering his left eye. His eyes breathtakingly beautiful, as they twinkle in all the different coloured Christmas lights across the Chicago winter street. I gently lift my hand up and cup the side of his face -which is as cold as the snow in my boots- and brush part of his hair out his eye. He half smiles at me. “Your gorgeous in the snow Princess” I smile and nod leaning in to him as we start walking again. “I was just thinking the same thing!”
--------
When we reach the mall, I’m taken back by how beautifully decorated it is; even if they do it every year. When we walk in the main door a wall of warm air smacks me in the face making me stop for a second. There were Christmas lights and tinsel decorating all the shop windows, a small Santa stand for children to go meet Santa with a small gabble of kids crowded around it and of course the HUGE tree in the middle of the mall decorated with tinsel, baubles and a bright shiny gold star on the top.
Erik looks at me confused before I grab his hand excitedly. “Come on! Lets go make a wish at the fountain!” I drag Erik to the fountain as he laughs lightly at me. When we get there, we walk up to the railing as I get my purse out “Now you get a coin and you throw it in the fountain, make a wish and then Christmas magic will make it come true!” Erik gives me a puzzled look. “Really? And anyone can use this magic? This seems-”
“Shhhhhh just do it.”
I watch as Erik shuts his eyes thinking for a second before he throws his coin into the fountain, the satisfying sound of the plopping of the water as it starts to sink to the bottom. I take my turn holding it close to my chest knowing exactly what to wish for.
Please, please, please let the boys have the best Christmas ever. Please keep them safe and out of trouble, I know better than anyone how hard it is but it’s Christmas and they deserve it.
Over the course of the year and a bit we’d spent together, they had felt more like family than my real family. I love them all but especially… one. Erik had brightened up my life and I don’t even want to think of it without him in it anymore. He made me the happiest I’ve ever been and I never feel more loved than when I’m with him. Maybe not every second with him is bliss, maybe we argue sometimes but that never matters because in the end we always come back, no matter if angels are against us, I’d happily go anywhere with Erik, even if that was in hell for eternity.
Keep him safe and happy. Let him know how much I love him, well maybe not the full extent, He’d think I’m crazy, maybe just a little bit.
I smile to myself and throw my coin into the fountain as Erik turns to me. “So? What did you wish for?” I smirk slightly stepping away from the railing “I can’t tell you or it won’t come true!” Erik groans slightly, reaching out to me grabbing me by my waist and pulling me so close our foreheads touch. “not even me?” I giggle as I shake my head, feeling my face flush.
--------
As we’re waiting in a small que outside the café waiting to be seated, I spot a small poster stuck up onto the window of the shop next door. It’s bright and Christmassy as the top words across it read
‘FEELING SINGLE?’
Well isn’t that just depressing. I read further down the poster.
‘Well don’t worry so are many others in this festive season and that’s why we’re inviting you to a Christmas get together for couples to get together!’
I shake my head slightly laughing under my breath. The poster reminds me of when I first met the boys. It feels like so long ago they weren’t in my life but they made it so much better. I remember pining over Erik. Obsessing over every complement wondering if I was taking it too close to heart. He made me feel special. Even now he still does. The way he goes out of his way to make sure I’m happy. Like a couple weeks ago when my favourite character died in my favourite TV show and I spent the entire day crying but when he got home from work, he’d bought me my favourite take out and my favourite scented candle and we had a candle lit dinner to cheer me up. I love Erik, and I couldn’t be happier.
I’m brought out my thoughts when Erik leans over to see what I’m looking at before he pouts “Princess are you-” I blush shaking my head franticly. “No, no! I was just looking.” I turn around to face Erik, planting a light kiss on his cheek “no where I’d rather be than here.” He smiles softly, looking at me as if he’s trying to commit it to memory.
“Ahem!” We turn to see Naomi shaking her head and laughing slightly, “Get a room you two” she says as she starts walking off waving her hand for us to follow. We follow her to our usually seats in a comfy booth except it’s decorated with small trees and tinsel along the edge of the table. She smiles as he flips her small notepad open “you two want your usual?” Erik smiles at her dazzlingly “In fact, could we order your Christmas hot chocolate?” Naomi beams clearly excited as she writes it down. “Oh! It really is to DIE for this year” I laugh slightly as she walks away into the kitchen.
“So, how’s that dress coming along, the one you were doing for that girl? For the Quinceanera?” Erik shakes his head taking his jacket off and placing it to the side. “Actually, I had to give up the project… something more important came up” I sigh. That dress design looked really pretty I really wanted to see it when it was done. “What are you working on now?” He looked around and shifted in his seat slightly “I don’t really want to talk about work right now… just spend some time with you.” I nod and smile shifting myself around the booth to sit next to him. “ok.”
When we get home. I put all Erik and I’s stuff on the radiators around the house before making my way into the dining room to find a note from the others:
--------
Gone out Christmas shopping we’ll be home soon, picking up some stuff for a nice dinner tonight as well so don’t eat too much!
At the bottom its signed James, Matthew and very scribbly and shabbily written Sam and Damion. It’s so sweet though I smile at it. When I hear a crash upstairs. “Erik?” When I hear no response, I hurry up the stairs and burst into Erik’s study to see the most stunning dress on Erik’s half-mannequin stand and a very passed out Erik on the floor.
I kneel down scooping him up in my lap and hugging him close. “Erik? Erik? Can you hear me?!” I shake him gently as he starts to stir, groaning in pain as he does. “Erik! Oh, thank goodness your alright!” Erik sits up slightly as I start to fuss over his head.
“I’m alright just- just-”
“You just might have a concussion let me have a look!”
I check him over a couple of times but everything seems fine. No blood. His eyes look normal. I lean back sighing feeling a bit put at ease as he leans back groaning. “Are you in pain?!” I say franticly but he shakes his head “I guess you’ve seen your dress now…” I look back up at the dress. This was… mine?! I get up and walk over to it and started inspecting it. Erik sighed.
“I was going to give it to you for your parents Christmas party but… I guess it’s spoiled now”
I shake my head franticly beaming at him. “It’s perfect! I Love it Erik!” Erik stares at me dumbfounded. “It’s not even finished yet…” I walk back to Erik and dump myself into his lap. “It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen” Erik shakes his head and looks back at me. “Have you seen a mirror?” I laugh slightly and lean in softly kissing him. His mouth was warm and sweet as I breathe in his soft smell of roses smiling slightly.
The kiss started off soft a sweet but turned into something hot-blooded as we started grabbing at each other trying to take each other in and you can bet after the perfect day, we had the perfect night ;)
