first day of actually attempting to lock in! i still haven’t done any english even though that’s my first exam but im hoping i can cover it on the day beforehand because im normally quite good at english. i should also be covering more maths as thats a subject ive been failing for a while now, but here’s what ive done today -

📚i started with 1 hour and 10 minutes of home economics where i covered milk, fish and protein alternatives but i didn’t finish it fully.

📚soon after i spent only 30 minutes drawing out river diagrams for geography but i still need to look over them again because i don’t remember it all.

📚then in the afternoon i did a full hour of irish and wrote out flash cards for ghleann álainn. (i pray this doesn’t come up in the exam.)

📚to finish off the evening i did another full hour of history and i wrote out notes for early christian ireland but again i didn’t fully complete the chapter so hopefully ill finish it tomorrow.

It has been a minute and half Tumblr. Hey, how’s it going, I am alive. I had to be inactive for December because of finals and the immediate mentally exhaustive state I was in post finals. I took photos throughout the chaos but I completely forgot to post them so here is this extremely unaesthetic post.

Finals was bad- truly bad I don’t have my grades back yet and I’m frankly terrified what my gpa is gonna be. It truly is in gods hands now.

In these pictures you will see a number of subjects- mainly number theory and law as those were the classes I truly was not at the mercy of. I was living off of burnt coffee, day old Celsius because one Celsius would get me through two days, and whatever food I could scrounge. Bless my friends for delivering me pho which you will see (next to the Celsius and coffee).

One night, the nearby church at my school gave free pancakes as a “midnight breakfast” event for students. Now I’m not Christian but I truly thank them and Jesus because it was the little things like that that kept me going. That and study with me videos on YouTube.

If my grades are somewhat ok, I’ll update the blog. If they aren’t, I won’t say anything and you guys are not allowed to ask me ..

But I hope to be active again on here again even if it’s not posting study content. Thanks for reading this tale of woe. Lets hope it was worth it <3

currently done with 3/6 finals and im so disappointed with all of them so far. I procrastinated throughout the entirety of the exam even when I had heaps of time. I’m determined to ace the last three, all the best to everyone who’s giving their exams <3 ໒꒰ྀིっ˕ -｡꒱ྀི১

Anyhow, that’s it for today. I’m getting infrequent in updating here as my phone is almost always switched off except at night but that’s when I’m already in bed after tidying up my study desk.

I’ll try to be more regular but the closer I am to my exam, the more strangely restless I am feeling.

ultimate test prep checklist: the day before

a few years back, i made a checklist to help keep me on track for major testing days. it helped a lot, so just decided to share it!

☐ get at least 7 hours of sleep before your test. for teenagers, get at least 8-9 hours. make sure you don't oversleep, though; you can end up groggy on testing day. i've said this once and i'll say it again: good sleep is crucial for test scores. avoid stupid mistakes as much as possible.

☐ eat a healthy, nutritious breakfast. go for fruits, oats, eggs- whatever can keep you awake & alert throughout the day without making you crash from a sugar high.

☐ don't continue cramming on the night before. it sounds counterintuitive, but anything you do the night before will only make you more agitated the next day + won't even matter, since one day of studying doesn't make much difference. instead, focus on getting a good night's sleep.

☐ stay hydrated. don't underestimate how much hydration can affect your concentration. a general rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces.

☐ organize your materials. no one wants to show up on testing day and realize their calculator died. make sure you pack everything you need and might need (better be safe than sorry), including chargers, extra pencils, and your notes.

☐ always arrive five minutes early. you want to have time to set your materials up and have advance notice in case anything goes wrong. start your test on a good note.

☐ do a light review a few hours before. do not cram. just review your notes, go over the concepts in your brain. now is not the time to ask questions about concepts you're confused about.

☐ stay confident & calm. you got this! one test won't be the end of everything. remain calm throughout the test and DO NOT PANIC. panicking will make everything worse- stay calm and skip questions you don't understand. you can always go back to them afterwards.
