Okay I wanna share a major win! I have always been a workout “first thing in the morning kind of person” because I am SUCH a structured person. If things don’t go exactly according to my schedule I’m like fuck it and the whole day is a write off. Well guess what. This morning I slept in 🙊 I didn’t have time to do my workout before needing to get lunches prepped and kaddy off to school and so I was like that’s okay, I’ll do my workout when I get back from the school run. But would I? Old Angie would have gotten home and been like, oh it’s too late now. Just make sure you do it tomorrow. Old old Angie would have bailed on the workout AND THEN sat on the couch feeling sorry for herself and ate her body weight in sugary processed foods. New Angie is like, right! We are home now. Time to love yourself and crush that workout. I will always strive to get my workout done in the mornings but something @mj_fitlife has taught me is that not everything always goes to plan and that doesn’t mean you throw your health out the window. So yay me!!!!! Vastus intermedius 1. Seated leg raises - Sit on a chair with your feet flat on the floor - Slowly straighten one of your legs. - Hold this position and squeeze your quad muscles for approximately 4 seconds. - Relax your leg and repeat steps again with other leg. - To make the exercise harder add ankle weights. 2. {feeling motivated} tonight I had finally had enough of not doing anything for exercise! I don't feel complete without it and it makes me happy when I'm in a daily routine of some sort of workout. After surgery just 8 weeks ago I'm having to start slow and not being able to just go out and run 4 miles or do yoga, it's been really hard to get back into it. I decided that anything is better then nothing. So tonight I did the kind of workout that is easy to do in between everything that comes up with 4 kids around. The cool thing is, just taking the step to do it was enough to get me going. Now I feel like it'll be easy to do again tomorrow, I'll crave it and I'll find the time {we always find the time for the important stuff} Here's what I did: I put my motivation oil blend on my temples and neck. Took a deep breathe of it. Then I did 25 reps at a time of squats, push ups, lunges, calf lifts, leg lifts and stuff like that. I repeated them 2-3 time and I just did them whenever I had time. Then I ran in place for 2000 steps. Now I feel really good and I can't wait to do it again. I'm ok with this and I know once I'm able to run and do yoga again, I will. Clubbercise done ✅ Max joined in the class. Was so cute watching him and Sophia joining in. A brilliant class to join in the mornings as @sarahsfitness_bexley let’s you bring the kids which is handy. I think it’s a great way to encourage the kids to get fit and healthy. Max even says to me we need to do exercise! 😂 I’m glad I am teaching him on how to be healthy along my journey. 𝗪𝐇𝐘 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐄𝐗𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐈𝐒𝐄 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐃𝐀𝐘 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So before people jump in the comments about rest days and overtraining, there is a difference between exercise and training.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Training should not be done every day and does require rest, but training also counts as part of your exercise. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Exercise is anything from walking the dog, to physical work in your job, to deadlifting 200kg. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are so many benefits to exercising regularly and simply getting your 10k steps a day does come in to that. Although its classed as Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis, there isn't a clear line of what constitutes exercise from activity and even training at times. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Of course walking 10,000 steps is a form of exercise especially when you do it with purpose. So with that said my advice is to aim to exercise every day in some way shape or form.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It has so many benefits as shown in this post that even on a rest day, a simple walk can boost your mood, energy, attention span and memory. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Of course there is a time and place to rest completely, but for most people, most of the time, some form of exercise daily can go a long way for overall health and fitness.
