A/N: I’m back for real this time! The end of school shut me down, but I am back! I will be busy for a bit after a few posts, but my timing will definitely be better than before. Absolutely infatuated with you, and I mean this in an obsessive way. Although he doesnt display it 100%, especially infront of other people, he will learn every single thing about you, even the slightest of details. (Find this cute or not is up to you but I’m not sure if this is a positive thing half of the time.)

Loved you from the very first interaction you had with him. Your smile, laugh, and even the way you shook his hand as a formal greeting had him hooked. He never felt like he could feel this way again, but you set up a spark inside of him that he couldn't put out. 

The thing he loves the most about you is your intelligence. The way you understand your craft, apply knowledge behind several situations, and never seem to skip a beat grows the urge inside of him to get to know you. Get to understand what you know, basically just enabling his obsessive nature of knowing everything about you lol. 

Again, will never be a PDA sort of guy in the castle. He likes to keep things professional, especially when theres his co-workers and the children around. He wouldn’t risk having rumors spread about your relationship, (which I bet there is already), but outside of the castle, probably max PDA would be holding your hand and being seen with you at all times. 

Now, not to say that if somebody came up to you trying to get your number he wouldn’t make that super clear you are taken. A hand sliding down to your waist, pulling you in and some words exchanged before practically dragging you out and talking about how stupid they were to attempt such acts towards you like the hand holding wasn’t a clear enough sign. 

Speaking of that, he is definitely the jealous type. Watching the moves of any person coming up towards you that seems to have a romantic inclination behind their actions, making detail of what they looked like and every motion they made towards you, to ask later who it was and what business that person had. Of course, he would trust you didn’t have anything to do with it, but rather doesn’t trust anybody else. 

When you two are alone, he is the sweetest guy. Although he still keeps the majority of his composure, he can't lie and say he doesn't have a soft spot for you. Asking you about your day while holding you and rubbing your back as you go into the types of antics all the students are up to, or making you tea as he forces you to rest in the bath that he drew for you. 

At some point, you have had a night where you talk about the drama with the students if you heard rumors about them. Mainly it would just to make sure that your relationship isn’t aware by all, but you can’t lie and say it isn't a bit fun talking about the potential relations between students in the classes you teach.  

His love language I believe would be quality time. Although you cannot spend every day together as you both teach classes, on the weekends he just wants you to himself since neither of you don’t have to see the world. He gets quite frustrated when your plans are ruined, so later in the evenings, he’ll sneak on by to your room to spend the evening, not particularly caring for wandering eyes. 

Remembers every single detail about you. What foods you like, interests, even how you like your hair to be worn. Not even just in general, but on certain days if you ask him to recall he could name what color your clothes were and how you were acting. This causes him to remember certain patterns about you which helps in the long run.  

Albus 100% has theories on you guys dating. He has pulled you both aside separately and asked about your relationship, which both claimed nothing outside of co-workers was occuring, deep down he has a growing feeling its more than that.

Firstly, Endo and the translators are at it again with the name puns and I am absolutely here for it lol. We have 'Falsa Chargis' (false charges) and 'Khan Spirasist' (conspiracist).

Beautifully done Endo. (also does anyone else get Ace Attorney vibes from these name puns...? No? Just me...?

Then we get this really cool panel of the First Lieutenant, Chloe, and Yuri all in their SSS uniforms, and they all look really cool and professional. (SSS Yuri is SO UNDER APPRECIATED I FEAR). I'm also very happy Chloe makes an appearance in this chapter, as i feel like the will prove to be very important to Yuri's character development later on in the series, so we'll just have to wait and see...

small little tidbit but i love this panel of Chloe being shocked at the prospect of Yuri having a date lol

Alright, now we're getting into the meat of this chapter >:)

First off, ENDO DREW YOR SO PERFECTLY IN EVERY SINGLE PANEL, LIKE SHE LOOKS GORGEOUS EVERY TIMEEEE. Her cute smile and wave is so fitting for her.

We get some scenes about Yuri obsessing over Yor, and trying to buy her something she barely looked at.

After agreeing that Yuri could buy her something she wanted, she picks out these bedsheets with stars on them, and Yuri comments on how childish it is for her to want them. AND THEN WE GET THE SWEETEST PANEL IN THE ENTIRE CHAPTER.

I've already planned on making a post about the domestication of Yor and Twilight, and this will definitely be in the post I make, but it's so sweet to see how accustomed Yor has become to the family lifestyle and being a mother to Anya that she noticed something as small as her bedsheets being worn out.

I love how Yor has been shown time and time again to be so selfless, and always thinking about what everyone else around her needs even if it's at the expense of herself. Even seeing the bedsheets and immediately thinking of Anya is SO 🥺🥺

Guys I love Yor so much she deserves everything.

Then the Briar siblings go out to dinner, and we have this hilarious misunderstanding between the two of them. Of course, we all know that she actually meant her tendency to knock Loid out with her strength lol.

Yuri claims that she's like a servant to Loid, and Yor adamantly denies it, saying she isn't being brainwashed.

(he actually needs to shut up and stop getting in the way of the twiyor moments (jk i love him so much leave him alone💔))

I will be posting a character analysis about Yuri and Yor later on, and even though I haven't started on it yet, this next panel might make an appearance in it for a good reason.

We all know that their parents passed when they were younger, and it left Yor having to take care of him all by herself, ultimately acting as a mother to him. So when she says that Anya reminds her of him, I feel like it comes from deep inside her as she reminisces about what once was.

Yuri 100% feels guilty about the fact that Yor had to take care of him from such a young age, feeling that she sacrificed her own happiness to give him a good childhood (my poor bby). But Yor comforts him by expressing her enjoyment of the days they spent together, and how it led her to where she is now.

SHE EVEN MENTIONS HOW LONELY SHE WAS WITHOUT HIM, LIKE THEY'RE SO 🥺🥺

But ever since she started living with Loid and Anya, she doesnt feel that way anymoreeee guysssss 😭😭😭

We also get this MAGNIFICENT PANEL OF YURI YUM YUM YUM YUM LOOK AT HIM

And Yuri is still an insufferable man-child oh my gosh can he actually shut the hell up.

They get kicked out of the restaurant due to his antics, and we get more reminiscing and memories about their childhoods, with Yuri getting the idea that they should move back to their childhood town, Neilsberg and live there together.

He says he was 'happy' back then, making me think he isn't happy/ satisfied with how his life is now, and like 😭😭💔

He's still stuck in the past and refuses to go on and look at the future, which can be a symptom of unresolved trauma/ PTSD, where individuals find it difficult to move forward due to past experiences. We still don't know the specific details of how their parents died in the war. Maybe it was due to a raid or unplanned explosion, and they got caught in it while Yuri and Yor had to watch...

Yor politely declines his idea, saying that there are things that she needs to do in Berlint, and Yuri agrees with her. (sort of unrelated but another BEAUTIFUL PANEL OF YOR💗💗)

Yuri hands Yor a gift (which is actually the bedsheets she wanted to give Anya <333), and we get YET ANOTHER breathtakingly gorgeous drawing of both of the Briar siblings, and then that's the end of their interaction.

Honestly, I was quite shocked when this scene finished, and we kept following Yuri afterwards. I was fully expecting the chapter to end there, but I was pleasantly surprised, especially considering the chapter was getting pretty long at that point.

BUT IM NOT COMPLAINING BECAUSE WE GET MORE YURI CONTENT YIPPEEEEEEEEE

We get another scene of Yuri thinking about the past (MOVE ON PLEASEEE THIS CANT BE HEALTHY), and we see more of young Yuri and Yor, with Yor leading him away, not wanting to get caught in an air raid 😭😭

I like the detail of Yuri also being very hostile and vigilant all the time because of his job. And he has to make sure no one enters his room while he's away. (its giving Twilight ngl)

We FINALLY get a shot of the inside of his room, and OH MY GOSH IT LOOKS SO DULL, LIKE THERES NOTHING IN THERE IT'S SO SMALL AND LONELY MY SHAYLA😭😭😭

The layout of his room perfectly plays into his next thoughts about Yor, and how all he wanted to do and all he wants to do is make her smile, but now she feels distant :(((

aaaaaand then he ruins it all by blaming his own problems on the Forgers like BRO GET A DAMN GRIP YOU ACTUALLY SUCK SO MUCH

Okay, i have a couple of thoughts about this screenshot, so lets discuss them all haha

NUMBER ONE is that I LOVE this character development with Yuri, as before this point, we have only ever seen him blame Loid for EVERYTHING to the point where it started to become really annoying, and Yuri felt more like a joke character rather than one with actual cohesive thoughts and a good narrative. So this is a HUGE step in the right direction for us Yuri fans hehehehehe.

NUMBER TWO is the fact that HE LOOKS SO LONELY NOOOOO. We've never seen this side of Yuri before, only being shown his overly hyper and obsessive side, so this quiet and somber scene of him is a REALLY nice change of pace and I am HERE FOR IT GIVE ME MORE ENDO PLEASE.

NUMBER THREE... guys... what the hell is this...? Ummm so, we get to see his room, which is pretty cool yayyyy.... but WHY DOES HE HAVE A WALL OF PICTURES OF HIS SISTER THATS SO WEIRDDDD WHATTTTTTTT. GUYS I ACTUALLY CANT DEFEND HIM ANYMORE LIKE THERES NO WAY I CAN JUSTIFY THIS HES SUCH A FREAK 😭😭

And then we get a really sweet scene of Yuris co-workers calling him over to have a drink with them, destroying the loneliness that consumed him only moments before. Guys this is so cuteee i swearrrr 💗💗

Also, possible Yuri x Chloe moment???????????????????

Anyways this chapter took me A BILLION YEARS TO DISSECT, but I REALLY enjoyed doing it :))

ok so for the record this is NOT MY FAULT. i was talking with (redacted) about how sad it is that one of my favorite writers sees him as an uncle. like, it's a familial thing. and we were joking like "well that wouldnt stop me lmao am i right guys" and it was all in good fun.

and then i started. Thinking About It. and entirely against my will my brain formed a plot. and at first i was just gonna write like a drabble or something to get it out of my system but uh. well.

yeah. so. yeah. so. ok. i know this looks bad but HEAR ME OUT. also spoilers for the first uhhhhh maybe half of the fic ?? two thirds of the fic???

ok so. this initially takes place before the IPC arrival. the reader gets adopted by one of his sisters when she's 5 because she was alone in the desert. she cant talk, and by the time she can, she doesnt remember what happened, so whatever. she meets boothill (who i am presently calling ahiga because i literally could not dodge around the name for that long) when she's 7 and LET ME EMPHASIZE THAT IT IS COMPLETELY PLATONIC AT THAT POINT. 100% PLATONIC. THERE IS NO GROOMING IN THIS FIC. OR UNDERAGE. ZERO. ZIP. ZILCH.

so reader is like.. cripplingly lonely with some major attachment issues. her mama's farm is pretty far from everyone else and there aren't many kids her age in the family, so she doesn't have many connections when she's younger. and she's a quiet kid, so she doesnt get much attention from the rest of her relatives. boothill can kinda see this to some degree, and i think hes sort of acquainted with loneliness (although his is largely self-inflicted at this point) so he kinda goes out of his way to include her in stuff and be nice to her. NOT in a creepy way, just in a regular cool uncle way. he teaches her how to ride horses, gives her sweets when mama isnt looking, that kind of thing. they don't see each other all that often but it's enough that they have a pretty solid, positive relationship.

so when shes like 16 she forms a teeny tiny itty bitty crush on him. just like. a little thing. and shes VERY aware that that's fucked up and she should cut that out immediately, but the thoughts kind of linger. but like.. presumably that'll just.. iron itself out eventually. with time. it's fine.

and almost immediately after that the IPC shows up and shit goes down. she and mama get kicked off their ranch and have to go shelter with nick and graey, and in the next week or so many other relatives follow. boothill ends up dropping off his daughter (who im calling manaba in this fic for the sake of naming consistency) to join the rebellion. reader helps out with the war effort, does supply runs, that kinda thing. when the ipc finally gives the kill order, shes between towns, and since they're targeting population centers, she escapes the direct blasts and shelters in a river to avoid the ensuing wildfires.

not everyone is so lucky, obviously. no one in her family (that she knows of) survives. some shit happens, but she ends up getting picked up by a group of survivors. skipping the details, several years go by. she doesnt really make any new friends, and the loneliness sinks its teeth into her - so she relies on the past to keep her grounded. the memories of her mom feel too painful, but her memories of her uncle feel.. safer. kinder, in a way. and in the back of her head, that tiny crush starts to fester. subconsciously, she starts to feed it, because the loneliness is ripping her apart, and this weird fucked up little fantasy feels like the safest way for her to keep it at bay. it's not a conscious thing, though. she's actively disgusted and disturbed by it every time it crosses her mind. it just kind of.. stews in the background.

she starts sleeping around to sate that loneliness. "There's a void in you that you haven't managed to fill. Something about having someone's hands on you makes the ache a little quieter, a little more manageable, but not by much." it's not born out of love, or any kind of affection - just a feral sort of desperation.

she never really feels like her partners fit her. when she finally realizes that shes chasing people with features that remind her of her dead fucking uncle, she promptly declares herself a freak forever and sentences herself to celibacy until she can figure out whatever the fuck is wrong with her brain.

she ends up leaving the planet, because staying is too painful. im a little foggy on the details here, but tldr she finds a mentor and gets into the tech scene, then the hacking scene, then starts doing what she can do fuck with the ipc wherever possible, etc etc. somehow, experiencing the impossible vastness of the universe, being surrounded by a functionally infinite amount of people, feels more lonely than ever. she's just kind of adrift in the world - sending money back home to help people make end's meet, generally just trying to find a reason to live beyond fear. there's a storm of emotions brewing inside of her - the hatred and the terror and the grief. she does all she can to spite the IPC, but it never feels like enough. it never feels like it does any good.

and then, years after the massacre, she's at a bar meeting with a client, and she sees him, and he sees her. and she's thinking "holy fucking shit that's my dead uncle" and he's thinking "holy fucking shit that's my dead niece" and they reunite and stuff. very heartwarming, very sweet, lots of tears (well. from her at least. he can't partake obviously 💀) and they start catching up over drinks.

and that's when he tells her his mission - that he knows who pulled the trigger, and who was behind the slaughter of their people. and she latches onto that HARD, because now she has a specific target for her emotional turmoil instead of the vague, amorphous concept of "the company." etc etc etc they agree to team up because he could use someone to help with behind-the-scenes stuff. and also because it's really nice to have someone around from home. so they exchange contact info and stuff, yay yay yippee

so they chat more, and they drink more, and reader maaaaaybe kinda sorta drinks a little too much. more than a little, actually. more than enough that her hold on her inner monologue slips and she starts thinking about how pretty he is. and suddenly that dormant little harmless crush that she was subconsciously feeding is swinging back around with a vengeance, because now it's real, and he's here, and he's ALIVE, and god did his lips always look that soft or-

and. well. eventually she uh. she might maybe kinda sorta ask if she can kiss him. and then processes the words that just came out of her mouth and starts CRYING because what the FUCK is wrong with her. and he like.. never addresses it directly. he just calms her down and makes sure she gets back to her hotel room and fucking DIPS.

BUT THE THING IS. THE THING IS. SHE WAKES UP THE NEXT MORNING. AND DOESN'T REMEMBER DOING IT. SO NOW HE KNOWS!! BUT SHE DOESN'T KNOW THAT HE KNOWS!!!! AND THEY HAVE TO ACT NORMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!

so the next bit is kinda loose and im probably gonna tweak some things. but. but. they have to go on a mission together. and.

yeah. im. yeah. they have to go to a bdsm club. together. and im sure you can guess. where im going with that. theres a particular section from the club scene that has been absolutely CONSUMING ME but idk if i should share that yet jawhbdjahwdbjawbajd unless somebody asks nicely ig. but jesus christtttttttttt it makes me feel insane. this whole fic makes me feel insane. the ending makes me want to chew my hands off but we'll get there when we get there. fucking pray for me because im not seeing the gates of heaven with this one

THEYRE MY SPECIALTY' and then he falls so in love with her and proceeds to tell everyone hes marrying her before even proposing to her. i love them.

TMI: Alec and Magnus. okay so this is for both obvious reasons (fan favourite) and some other personal ones. Living where i do, i had no idea you could like the same gender as yourself or ltr anything about the LGBTQ+ community at all. These two were the first gay ship i had EVER read and they are what lead me to be as confident in my sexuality as i am right now. they introduced me to the concept of thinking beyond what i was told or shown by the people that surround me and look into the world the right way, without projecting judgement. i love them for that. theyre my comfort characters and the one of the biggest reasons i am who i am right now. also magnus is pr much why i adore glitter and i manage to put it on my face every other day ahaha

TDA: Diana n Gwynn. a very, very close second is Mark n Cristina n Keiran. but about Diana and Gwynn, they literally have my entire soul im not even kidding you. Gwyn is the first person Diana opens up to about her transition and its honestly so heartwarming that Gwyn, the leader of the Wild Hunt, known to be vicious and feared by faerie, is literally just there for her to lean on. He supports her and is so, so calm and soft with her it genuinely melts me. like, this man is basically the reaper of souls and he rides a magnificent steed into the night but hes so gentle with Diana. obviously my obsession w them is reinforced by the fact that the FIRST time Gwynn sees Diana he goes 'O' and is all like 'HELLO my fair lady beautiful one gorgeous strong lovely lady' and gives her an acorn like 'call me ;)' and diana my love just, THROWS the acorn to julian and emma and goes 'do w that whatever u will' and acts like she doesnt care and when they call on gwyn he comes to help nd immediately goes '...THAT WASNT FOR YOU but ig i'll help bc ur the magnificent lady's brats :/'

WHY ADI IS A GOOD CHARACTER AND NOT JUST AN EVIL SCIENTIST CHILD MURDERER

AAAAAAAAAA OH MY GOD YOU DONT UNDERTAND HOW WORKED UP I GET OVER THIS DEBATE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND ARARRARARRARRA also btw i watched sweet tooth ages ago so i might get some details wrong

(please dont take anything said here personally i am tired and angry and i get so sososo worked up over this debate since Adi is very similar to a character ive been obsessed with for a year)

so after being in a sweet tooth fandom for a bit i found that much to my surprise (and distain) adi is actually a thoroughly hated character, which was surprising after coming from a fandom where the "evil child murderer" character is one of if not the most popular. And i feel that a lot of the people who hate adi do just see him as "evil child murderer" BUT HES MORE THAN THAT!!!! I PROMISE!!!!! get out of that echo chamber and open your mind to a new opinion (please i spent like 40 mins typing this out)

so firstly, adi was actually just a really nice normal guy before the crumble. he was a sweet man, he was a doctor, he was dad material. not a psychopath. he clearly isnt insane or murderous by nature. We can see his love for Rani in the first episode when he starts freaking out and barging past people just to try to keep her alive even when he knew the odds werent in his favour. he clearly loves his wife more than the world itself and would burn cities in her name. This is a man who Loves His Wife. After the crumble we can see that Adi and Rani are living a semi normal life. we see that all Adi wants is some normalcy despite the horrible situation he's been put into. And all he really needs for that is his wife. Evidently the rest of his family is already dead even if its not mentioned so this man is already under a lot of stress, also knowing that if anyone finds out that Rani has the sick he's screwed. but you know what? hes coping. hes living. maybe he's sometimes forced to be just a lil bit sadistic but its fine its fine its okay because Rani is okay. When he first sees Gladys's research he is horrified and refuses to do the things asked. he loves his wife but even he stops at the idea of killing children (like a normal person). When whatserface (forgot her name) is killed by the horse he is horrified but you can even see a bit of Rani's sadistic nature with how quickly she is to be like "right welp hide the body it was not our fault :)" while Adi is moritified but still helps her because shes his wife and she loves him.

In fact, even when abbot kidnaps him he doesnt want to kill the children. Why would he??? He kills them because if he doesnt Rani will die and all he wants is Rani to be okay. Put yourself in his shoes. your whole life was flipped upside down in the crumble and then your second chance at a mostly normal life was also torn away from you. Now the person dearest to you in the whole world (and also the only person you still have) is about to die at the hand of Doctor Robotnik, who is also trying to force you to kill children otherwise he'll kill you too. Adi is visibly shook after having to kill roy. He didn't want to. He even says in his little voice vlog thing that he has done something terrible (iirc). When Gus comes along he is desperate to have a reason to spare him and when Gus talks he is overjoyed that he doesnt have to kill another child. Sure he's kind of forceful and aggressive but my man is under so much stress and has been for the past 10 years let him be pissy. AND his wife is okay (for now)!! woohoo!!! When he finds the cure he is overjoyed. Sure he ignores his wifes wishes but at this point he is numb to the killing. IT IS EXPLICITLY STATED MULTIPLE TIMES DURING THE SHOW THAT HE DOESNT WANT TO BE A DOCTOR BECAUSE HE STARTS TO BECOME NUMB TO THE DEATH. he KNOWS that this whole doctor thing will start driving him a bit cooky and tries to avoid it but he's forced into it. and that is why he doesnt understand the true reason behind Rani's crying and begging. He doesnt fully realise how she feels at this point due to what he's been forced to do and thinks its too late to go back

He goes back into his laboratory and everything's gone. burned away. AND his wife left him. here is when i feel you can really see where he snapped. Everything he has is gone now. the only thing he could ever need, and the person who he did all those terrible terrible things for, is gone. It cant get worse now. He starts spiralling and going down a desperate path to redeem himself. At this point he is completely insane and broken. He really thinks with all his heart that the only way he can fix what he's done ad get forgiveness from his wife is by killing gus. he thinks its the right thing to do. He's delusional. he seems like a hollow shell of himself by the last season but you can still see little sparks of his old self occasionally. he betrays Gus and team because he thinks its the only way he can redeem himself. the only way he can get Rani to forgive him. But at the last second RIGHT before stabbing Gus he realises its not right and he realises that he's become a terrible person that his wife would be ashamed of. HE REDEEMS HIMSELF. HE SAVES GUS. AND YOU LOT STILL SEE HIM AS THE EVIL CHILD MURDERER. DIEEEEEE

anyways TLDR i love Adi a lot and he did the bad things that he did because he was sad and desperate and loves his wife a lot and anyone who thinks otherwise can go suck toes

But after some time my mentality shifted to the need to process through the trauma and, sadly, ponies just werent good at that. Too unreal. Too unrelatable to me. (MLP Show AU was that one last try. I still love this AU; rarely, but i draw ponies for myself as a sign of respect for good times, but my brain just doesnt need them right now.)

- Gravity Falls "revival" due to the Book of Bill just happened at the right time. When watching gf for the first time (what, i was like? 10? 12?) i followed adventure from the POV of Dipper and Mabel and had a blast. I was even too young to fully grasp the concept of "Stan taking the Ford's name for 30 years to hide his disappearance, while trying so hard to bring his twin brother back". Rewatching gf now openned it from absolutely different side for me - a story about people, broken and damaged by either generational trauma or powers beyond their comprehention and control; with different motivation to keep going forward. Smth that i could grab onto.

- Bill happened to be a mentally interesting case to explore artistically + my weakness for non-human funny looking/functioning creatures. But - what you dont know, anon, - this character obsession has shifted from Bill to Kryptos months ago (including the topic of origin, why Kryptos followed Bill, them two being the most similar, via anatomy looks, 2D shapes in the group and the theme of codependency). As i said before - very busy irl, behind on posting arts. Heres some snaps from the "To post" pile you all be seeing some time soon :)

- i associate myself with Kryptos a lot for many reasons (having to get teeth retainers on upper jaw only played into the feeling lol). okay so my first thought was for weiss and yang. i know he meets yang in canon but i just wanted to brainrot about his thoughts on her.... but i'll also add my quick thoughts on ruby.

i think adam would see her as pretty harmless. i never really saw adam as a blind murderer, more someone who only wanted to hurt those who reminded him of the oppressors.

ruby is just friendly to everyone, so i think he'd find her irritating more than anything.

"wow, hi! your sword is so nice! like...is the metal painted? dyed? just looks like that?" and she's like bouncing around him "..." he pinches his nose bridge, just sighing, "oh! oh! are you sick? do you need to go to the infirmary? the hospital? " "no, i am not sick. it's a metal alloy that looks red. happy now?" "sick..." he'd might find her annoying enough to want to get away from her, but probably just sees her as a kid.

maybe he'd look at her with a little envy of how she could live so normally and so loved by those around her.

maybe he was just a little weapon nerd at heart too, before he got consumed by his greater ambitions.

maybe he loved roses too, and that's why his semblance also wilts into petals like ruby's.

and maybe he just wanted to live normal life too. without all the burdens on his shoulders.

once he finds out about how she and blake know each other he'd probably go ballistic.

i have this sorta twisted idea that adam should've found out about weiss being blake's friend, and how she's the heiress of the SDC. it would've made so much more sense for him to have hurt/killed her in the show than him finding out about yang and cutting off her arm...but that's just my personal preference...

no hate to weiss or anything, but she could afford to lose a limb. especially since her semblance is a summoning one. like she could still fight just fine.

if he met her early volume 1, when she was still obsessed with her status as a schnee, i think he would've killed her on the spot.

if they had a conversation in volume 2-3 it would probably be something like...

"those eyes... you're a schnee?" his hand rests on the hilt of his blade. "ugh. i hate it when people define me by my family name. my name is weiss, first and foremost. also, who are you? are you a member of the white fang? i mean you're wearing one of those masks." his eyebrow raises at her tone. but he can only see red knowing that she is in fact a direct benefactor of his and his kin's blood, sweat and tears. "my name is of no concern to a schnee."

i don't really see them getting along at all. like not even if he decided to stop killing people. he'd hold a dark hatred for her and her family for the rest of his life (which imo he's entitled to).

knowing that blake even befriended a schnee would probably break his heart, especially since she knows that they're the reason he wears the mask. the reason for his scars. the reason for his deep-seated trauma.

yang & adam

it definitely depends on which volume he meets her, and whether or not she's started getting romantically involved with blake or not.

either way he would not like yang. she's too bubbly for him, and he definitely doesn't like people who get friendly too quick. it feels disingenous to him. definitely someone who'd get wary of anyone who touches him.

as soon as he realises her and yang have something going on he'd lose his shit.

that was his spot. the person he loved. his one and only. the person he would bleed his body dry for. and some bumbling fool (no offense yang, this is adam talking) just comes along, acts a bit nice to blake and gets her attention that easily? unbelievable.

i think it'd drive him crazy as well knowing that he was never that special to blake. her feelings for him faded. they were temporary and easily replacable. it would sting and stab at his heart, enough to make him go mad with jealousy.

what does she have that he didn't?

the more he compared how different he was to yang would make him feel sick, knowing that blake would never look back for him or look at him the way she does to yang because he was just so fundamentally different from her.

he'd probably feel ill from how disparate yang's personality is from his.

she had a lot more than he did. or maybe it was more accurate to say she hadn't lost as much as he had. she was so like the sun. light. he was blake's shadow. but that was the thing. shadows. they would always be closer than the light of the distant sun. they were inescapable. blake would never have to go looking for adam. he would always be there for her. especially in her darkest moments. haunting her from below her. never good enough to be above her, and never daring to touch her skin like the warmth of the sunlight would. he would only shade her from the harshness of the heat, and cool her aching muscles when the world was too blinding for her. that was all he could hope for. but her? she could touch her all she wanted. envelop her in warmth, soft touches and glances. no one would chastise her for that. after all she wasn't as dirty and cold as he was. even glancing at blake felt like a privilege to him. and she would never know how fucking lucky she was in his eyes. for what she could do so easily for blake.

also also i totally forgot to mention this but the reason neil stops wearing his contacts is bc andrew nicky aaron and kev take him to the club for the first time and theyre like you are NOT wearing brown contacts to the gay club we (aaron andrew nicky) worked at in hs :/ u have to look HOT also while theyre there andrew gets nicky to drug neil so neil pays a bouncer to knock him out and then when he wakes up in their house the next morning he jumps out their bathroom window and hitchhikes & walks 71 MILES back to campus. he ends up going to the club with them like every other week btw

thinking ab a boat boys ethubs pre relationship poly thing (idk what their ship name is) where bdubs is like “why are you so obsessed with etho” and joel is like “why are YOU so obsessed with etho” and are sooo displeased with each other but genuinely cant put into words WHY they hate the other? which leads to both of them having a reflection moment. there being someone else who is weird ab etho kind of like. grounds and sobers them and makes them think and reflect and both be like “hm why AM i obsessed with etho” to which they then realize. oh shit. im in love with that guy (how bdubs Didnt realize before is a whole can of worms)

and they talk ab it and HATE each other at first but then they grow to really like each other, have this genuine emotional bond, and start to develop feelings for the other. they can both be very vulnerable with the other bc joel is new and doesnt have this idea of the ethubs relationship and gets to know bdubs as a separation from etho and his own person despite them initially bonding over their mutual Weird Obsession. and bdubs doesnt know much ab joel because they dont talk too much and theyre from whole different servers. so neither of them have to act or put on a mask and theyre like “holy shit. i really like and appreciate you. we’re different but our differences work really well together. i viewed you as competition and a reflection of the things i dislike about myself but in getting close ive realized that i respect you and really enjoy your view of the world, yourself, building, and relationships. we should kiss”

OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE THIS QUESTIOOOONNN

So since May 2023 (what happened there? I have no idea 😉) I've watched everything Jonah-related I could get my hands on (except for Little Women, but I'm definetly going to watch that later this year).

My top 3 Jonah projects OTHER than The Little Mermaid (because truth be told, I think it's pretty clear how obsessed I am with that movie and it's not really a fair comparison to some of the more indepent, even low budget projects Jonah has starred in) so far:

1. World on Fire (2019 - 2023)

Big shocker, right? Given how much I already rambled about Harry and Kasia (my traumatised parents) and how upset I was when they cancelled it. I will always mourn this show for the huge potential it had.

World on Fire is a BBC-show following different people in Britain, Poland, Germany and France (with some American viewpoints as well) as they have to endure and navigate their life through World War II. Doesnt really sound like anything we haven't seen, right? However, World on Fire is worth checking out imo, since it differs a lot from the usual Hollywood-infused war epics, because rather than focusing on the politics or the big battles, the show looks more closely at the everyday person that actually had to live through this tragedy and how they deal with what's happening. That being said, obviously this is still a show about WW II, so there definitely IS depiction of violence, murder and torture, as well as bombings, gunfire etc., so please be careful if you find any of those things triggering. I personally found some episodes quite hard to get through.

I think it's interesting that Jonah's filmography is very heavy on projects set during or related to WW II (additionally to WoF you have The Song of Names, Ashes in the Snow and ofc coming up The Tattooist of Auschwitz). Theories on why that is are welcome!

Harry Chase (brilliantly brought to life by our favourite British simp) differs quite a bit from many of Jonah's other roles in that he`s not your heroic, clean-cut good guy (like Andrius, Lucas, Mo or Prince Eric). He's insecure and a little helpless, even cowardly at times. Harry starts out as a translator, but later joins the British Army and the SOE. He fucks up repeatedly, both in his role as lieutenant, as well as in his personal life. Even though most of the time he means well, his cowardice ends up hurting a lot of people and leads him to be in the middle of a love triangle. (Though to me it's not a triangle, but rather a straight line, Team Kasia all the way.)

Harry, though deeply troubled, is a very kind and soft soul. That doesn't really pair well with the acts of war, as well as british society in the 1940s in general, which leads to conflict with other characters and their idea of who he should be. Especially when he clashes with his mother Robina (portrayed by the absolute MAGNIFICENT Lesley Manville, shes giving Emily Gilmore in the best way possible), Jonahs acting is ON POINT. His performance is so nuanced: He's angry, he's desperate, he's sad, but also condescending, sarcastic and hostile towards her. The interesting thing about Harry is the journey he takes. To watch him try to better himself by dealing with past trauma and taking responsibility for present mistakes. The real standout for his character is episode 5 of season 1 where he finally steps up and takes charge. This is also when he starts earning the respect of his sergeant Stan (Blake Harrison) for the first time - they have a real bromance, both on and off the show, I LIVE for these two.

But - just like in real life - he doesn't have this one breakthrough moment and everything is smooth sailing from there. He fluctuates, just like a real person would. He still has the tendency to run away from his problems, but I think what he's seen in the war, what happened at home and (yes, I'm making this about my ship) his love for Kasia (Zofia Wichlacz) make him realise the type of man he wants to be and he would probably try to act accordingly IF WE GOT A THIRD SEASON, BBC! 😤😡🤬

2. Old Boys (2018)

directed by: Toby MacDonald Jonah plays: Henry "Winch" Winchester

If you can only watch one Jonah movie, I beg of you MAKE IT THIS ONE!

I`ve found next to nothing about Old Boys and that seriously has to change. (watched the entire movie again, getting my non-existing gif-making skills ready, just the night before I got this ask, talk about fate)

This movie is so underrated, it doesn't even have a Wikipedia entry. Make it make sense! How is nobody watching this cutie-patootie work of art? Its adorkable in the best sense of the word, it's heartwarming, a little silly and oh! so funny!

It's losely based on the play Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, set in an all-boys british boarding school in the 1980s. Given the source material, catfishing is definetly a thing here, keep that in mind if you might find that topic difficult.

Alex Lawther's character Amberson (cliché school nerd and victim of bullying) falls in love with the new french teachers daughter Agnes (Pauline Etienne) who in turn has a crush on First-Class-Himbo Winch (portrayed by a beautiful, dimple-faced, british actor). Because Agnes is very artistic and looking for someone that matches her vibe, Amberson helps Winch to try to impress her, because Winch himself is... well... a little dim 😅.

Winch is easily my favourite Jonah character to date (yes, including Prince Eric). I have seriously considered changing my tumblr-name to themightywinch because of him. I mean... he's corteous and punctual, after all 🤣😍.

While not the main character, he's definetly the highlight of the movie. Jonah is likeable, charming, the right kind of awkward in the right moments, has fantastic comedic timing and great chemistry with Alex Lawther.

Just look at that scene alone! IT`S. SO. CUTE!!! (cute-raging over here 😡) Watching this just makes you wish Jonah would star in more comedies, because he definetly has the skills for it! This is just a feel-good movie that leaves you smiling with a warm, fuzzy feeling in your heart. It has easily become one of my new comfort watches. Old Boys just never fails to make me laugh and I wish it would get more attention and recognition since it definetly deserves it! (like at least write a Wikipedia article about it) Btw, I bought this on Prime for 99ct, best money I ever spend!

3. The Last Photograph (2017)

(the trailer says 2019, but the movie was originally shown at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 2017)

directed by: Danny Huston Jonah plays: Luke Hammond

Fair warning, this movie is gut-wrenching. I don't know if this qualifies as an actual trigger-warning, but this movie deals with the loss of a child/ death of a young person, as well as the real life tragedy of the Pan Am Flight 103 bombed in 1988 so proceed with caution.

Luke Hammond (Dimples McGee) is on said flight to visit his long-distance girlfriend Kate (Stacy Martin) in New York. Kate's and Luke's first meeting is a little awkward imo, I think it's meant to be like a meet-cute, especially with the whole "Bird"-thing, it just doesn't really work for me. But the rest of their love story is very endearing, they're just two young people experiencing love for the first time. Their time together is told through seemingly random, incoherent flashbacks and memories, just giving little glimpses of what their relationship was like and it's the cutest thing. Little intimate touches, hidden smiles, shared laughter... It's shot in a way as if you're watching them through rose-colored glasses, which is probably the point.

I love the way this movie uses different lighting and colour changes to depict a difference in the time line as well as the emotional state of the characters.

We only see Luke in flashbacks (guess why) and follow his dad Tom (Danny Huston) in present day (which in this case means 2003) as he is desperately trying to retrieve the last photograph (hence the titel) he possesses of his son after his bag was stolen. To see Tom slowly losing his grip as he grows more and more desperate to find the picture is truely heartbreaking. (It's a polaroid, so there are no copies, this is truely the last memory he has of Luke. God, I'm tearing up while writing this.)

Because Luke is basically just seen through the memory of his father who obviously holds him in high regard/ romanticizes the idea of his son, he is portrayed in a solely positive light, which usually wouldn't give much dimension to his character. Yet Jonah still manages to fill this role with life and witt and charisma, making you understand why Bird fell for him. He's sweet, romantic, a little bit shy, which works really well here, has the cutest laugh and clearly cares really deeply for his father. He's definetly portrayed as the "you simply have to love him" kinda guy, which is why his absence cuts so deep.

This is also in huge parts due to Danny Huston's performance. Honestly, the sweater-scenes (or jumper, if you're british 😉) almost broke me. And don't even get me started on his letter to Kate or Kate's letter to him... ugh. It's. So. SAD.

This is obviously not for everyday watch. However, even though The Last Photograph is heartbreaking, it doesn't necessarily leave you hopeless and depressed. This movie feels like a loving tribute to an actual person and therefore has a beauty in its melancholy. Throughout Tom's journey there is hope and forgiveness towards himself. There's a beautiful symmetry to the whole thing. The ending feels almost satisfying if you can say that in this context.

I also wanna give a shoutout to This Is The Night (2021). The movie itself isn't that great, it's a little all over the place and I think they tried to do a little too much all at once. But I looo~oooved Jonah in this, Christians character arc is by far the most interesting one and I wish the script gave their character justice in the way Jonah's and Naomi's acting did. (Also this is the HOTTEST he's ever looked which is a bit ironic).

This list is probably going to be outdated soon, since he has a lot coming out in the near future (I'm especially excited for Rich Flu).

what's divine punishment's dynamic? (sorry, new here. I saw the banger ship name, noel, kayne, and ran here as fast as i could)

DONT YOU DARE APOLOGISE ANON YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY!!!! Teehee time to talk about my favourite guys ever. Divine punishment is my favourite dynamic/ship so ive gone a little bit over the top explaining it because it comes from so many places in my brain (i am also a chronic yapper).

Firstly, my version involves the two of them vaguely interacting in Eygpt. Its not exactly meeting per say but Kayne is hanging around the excavation site for both the black and grey stones and is aware that Charlie is the one to steal the stone. This is inspired/stolen from The Man in the Mirror which is @grayscale-sparks’s wonderful Noel backstory fic that i yap about a lot.

Kayne then fucks off to go kill every other version of himself and Charlie is taken by the King causing Kayne to lose track of the vaguely interesting mortal who stole the stone. Until at some point during Charlies time in the prison pits Kayne finds him and strikes a deal, hes the one who alerts the Cana to get Charlie out.

Charlie makes his way out of the dreamlands by himself but Kaynes still rather interested in him. He managed to get the stone, survive The King and the Dreamlands after being in the prison pits, now thats just fascinating. So instead of having to re-build his life on his own Kayne starts appearing in Charlies life, at first Charlie does not appreciate this but over time Kayne ends up becoming the only stable thing in his life (which is saying something). Kayne is the only person Charlie really has to talk to who would understand what the fuck hes been through and Charlie is interesting to Kayne (and maybe theres a little bit more than just normal interest there). Charlie also feels indebted to Kayne since he was the one to get him out of the prison pits. The reason im using Charlie here is because he specifically asked Kayne to keep calling him his old name as a way of trying to continue separating Noel and the Eldritch parts of his life.

Its during the two year period after Noel escapes the dreamlands before Malevolent that they become property interesting and dynamicy it is not at all healthy however.

Also @absoluteocellibehavior suggested the idea that Kayne could use Noel as a backup option for sending to get the blackstone since he has similar criteria to Arthur: has been in the same room as grey stone, was a pi, has a good knowledge of the eldritch, ect. He just doesnt use him since Arthur is his favourite, but should Arthur fail he is keeping Charlie in reserve to go after the blackstone for him.

(This can also feed into an idea of divine punishment without the time from after the king-before malevolent of just the two of them ending up together after part 40 while Kayne is bored and cant see Arthur in the 13th century)

To sum up: Charlie feels indebted to Kayne. He also views him as the only stable part of his life and at time acts as a reminder that he isnt insane and the King did happen. Kayne thinks Charlies interesting (but not to the point of obsession the same way he is with Arthur) and is keeping him as an option should Arthur fail. They are also fond of one another in deeply fucked up ways (i love it when Noel has the chance to be slightly scary and Kayne gives it).

Another day of TMA! Holy shit... A lot happened.... I finished S3 and my next episode will be 130 Meat. Let's see.... (I sporadically yelled in discord throughout the day so I have something I can say least partially look back on as reminders...)

There was an explicitly trans character so that was pretty neat!

And then there was... The end of S3. Fuck. That was. A lot.

I had a bad feeling that things weren't going to go well for Tim and... Yeah. Tim is dead. Daisy is... Maybe not dead. Or, well, she's not dead but maybe not coming back? Jon is certainly going to try which I have a horrible feeling about.

And MARTIN OH MY GOD! WITH ELIAS! JUST "YOU LOOK JUST LIKE YOUR DAD WHO LEFT AND THATS WHY YOUR MOM HATES YOU AND DOESNT WANT YOU AROUND" WHAT THE FUCK!!!!

But Martin did so good!! His plan worked!! Elias in prison! Though... I am not convinced that's a good thing given... The new guy in charge I'm blanking on his name... Peter??? Maybe??? He gives me bad vibes. I feel like while not good Elias at least has... Maybe reasonable intentions. (I'm not sure exactly when but I've become fond of him which certainly helps) But... New guy. I do not trust him. Especially with whatever he's doing with Martin. I do not like it. I do not trust it. Martin has changed so much and I DO NOT LIKE IT. LEAVE THE BEAN ALONE LET HIM BE HAPPY!!! (Which, I realize is unlikely given how the series has gone so far but... Still...)

And Martin's crush on Jon is... Super cute. I did not see it coming at all but in retrospect I can see it which... Makes me more sad with how everything is in its current state. 😭

Stranger and Stranger was a trip of an episode that I definitely struggled to follow. I'm sure a lot of that was intentional given The Unknowning. But... Especially with only one headphone while working I definitely struggled to really understand what was happening. I should relisten at some point when I can give it my undivided attention, probably also looking over the transcript would help. Really there's a lot I want to relisten to at this point just to go through it with a better understanding of what's happening/characters/etc. Though, I will finish the whole series first.

And Jon in a 6 month long coma was not what I was expecting.... But the way he gained strength by reading/recording that statement??? 👀👀👀 Initially super raspy and seemingly struggling to speak and as he read his voice became increasingly normal until he sounded totally fine?? 👀👀👀

Melanie was terrifying the way she tried to go at Jon which, I understand things are bad and scary, but Job literally just woke up from a coma! He hasn't done anything! Leave him alone! (This isn't the horrible things I want to happen to him!! It just makes him sad and isolated!)

And when Jon finally hunts down Martin, the sad little, "I miss you" And Martin still just leaves because of whatever he's going with... Peter? (Is it Peter?? Genuinely still can't remember if that's the right name.)😭😭😭

well i already rambled about him a bit on my post but im sure i can pull out some more lore about him ^_^ (also dw about his first name im still trying to pick a new one for him)

soooo… collins parents were immigrants from southeast asia (still deciding on the specifics there), they moved to america hoping for better opportunities but were still pretty poor there, as his father was the sole provider for the family and couldn't get a very high paying job. even to this day collins is pretty poor and its part of the reason he stays at fredbear's/freddy's, because he struggles to find a better job

this is exacerbated by the fact collins is just not a very social guy, as a kid he was pretty lonely and i think he has a lot of anxiety that's been left unresolved for decades, so he struggles to get interviews or connect with people. people tend to think he's on-edge all the time, and he doesn't have a lot of friends - even his co-workers can only really be considered acquaintances, but they are the closest things to friends that he has. he also feels pretty isolated being a closeted gay man and not reallyyy knowing what to do with that information in rural ass hurricane utah.

he's a lot more capable than he thinks though! he's good with schedules and planning, can solve any problem at the pizzeria pretty easily, so most people generally respect him there. henry likes him cause he's good at what he does and doesn't cause any problems, they dont really go out of their ways to interact with each other but when they do its usually positive. william is, as stated, kind of a dickhead, so he likes to dump extra work or overtime onto collins since he's not gonna complain about it (he hates confrontation). but they do get along sometimes, collins finds his rambling intriguing - though not directly interested in animatronics he is interested in technology, so there's a slight overlap there.

i actually think collins could have an interesting connection with michael post-1983, with william giving him(michael) the cold shoulder and henry not paying much mind to it. maybe trying to reassure mikey it was an accident or at least give him some kinda support, still thinking on that one though. collins also knows jeremy by proxy, and cause jeremy worked at freddy's for a brief time (ahem. we know how that went), i think they were pretty close to being friends ngl

i cant really explain how it came to be but the phone head is a thing here. its a mask collins wears to hide the scars on his face (which he got from an accident with foxy), because he hates being stared at + doesn't want to scare the kids + its actually kind of nice to help with overstimulation. dims the bright lights and loud sounds.

OH and theres also vincent who is obsessed with collins, which collins is rather annoyed by and resistant to at first, but starts to warm up to him after vincent saves his life & finally realizes he needs to tone down the flirting after collins expresses his discomfort.
