Dancing Lions
Lion dance troupe in the Flower Dome. Photo credit: Jonathan Chua.
Wide open at f/3.5 and 55mm equivalent, the whole troupe was easily kept in focus with the relatively generous depth of field of a one-inch sensor. The surroundings were toned down and darkened a little in post.

Flower Dome
Boasting the record for being the world’s largest greenhouse, the Flower Dome towers over the Gardens by the Bay. At 1.2 hectares, it’s the perfect place to visit year-round. Regardless of the weather outside, you can explore comfortably as you walk amongst the vouchers. My friend had been in Singapore a few weeks before I flew-in, and he made me promise I would make it a priority.

Singapore Gardens by the Bay
Second part of a unexpected day in Singapore, due to delays travelling between New Zealand and Nepal. I walked 25km in the heat and humidity to visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens in the morning, and Gardens by the Bay in the afternoon.

This was taken from Bay East Garden across the bay, the better part of which is undergoing re-development by the way. Exposure was biased darker by 1-1/3 stops to retain highlight details. In post, the shadows and highlights were then tweaked to get this final image.
