look i dislike the corporate artstyle book cover trend as much as the next person but we cant pretend every book looking the same is something new. if you stepped into a bookstore in 2013 there would be approximately 57 books whose cover art consisted of a girl in a ballgown with her back half-turned to the camera photoshopped into a vaguely fantasy-like landscape. i was 11 years old fighting for my life to find the right maximalistic girl and her single-adjective book title we cannot forget the horrors i went through please be respectful of my experiences

hi it’s me with yet another snippet from a fic idk if i’ll ever finish 😈
——————
Eddie doesn’t bother knocking anymore. Steve hears the front door open and the distinct sound of Eddie kicking his boots off, probably flicking specks of mud all over the place, before calling out his name.
A smile tugs at his lips as he calls back, “I’m in the kitchen!”
Eddie walks in and jerks to a stop, taking in the sight. Steve had thrown on an apron just to make sure he didn’t get any sauce on his pants or Eddie’s shirt while he was cooking. It’s just an old thing that’s been in the kitchen as far back as he can remember, faded and stained and fraying around the edges. He’s pretty sure it belonged to his grandma before she passed away.
Still, it seems to really do something for Eddie. He clutches at his chest like Steve just shot him point blank, and says, in a wounded voice, “Oh, you devil. You little temptress. You… you…” He trails off, thinking hard as his eyes linger on Steve’s ass. “You coquette. Jezebel. Seductress.”
Steve laughs. “Hi, Eddie.”
“Hello, Stevie,” Eddie replies in an absolutely salacious voice, one that makes delightful little shivers run down Steve’s spine. “God damn, you look hot as fuck. You tryin’ to end this date night early?”
Steve turns away, rolling his eyes, but he’s grinning so big it hurts. “Go pick a movie or something.”
A pair of arms slips around his waist instead, and then there’s the tickle of frizzy hair against his cheek as Eddie hooks his chin over Steve’s shoulder to peek at the lasagna.
“Looks yummy,” he says, punctuating his statement with a lick on the side of Steve’s neck.
It’s not sexy, though, is the thing. It’s actually kind of gross. A little too slobbery and long and annoying. Steve knows Eddie did it on purpose when he groans and shoves him away, wiping at the spit, only to get a cackle and a swift slap to the ass in response.

No, but this is definitely my most controversial opinion, but the whole thing with Buck and Eddie being the same age comes back to the fact that they are mirrors of each other. Down to the tattoos with mirrored placement, yes, but like, narratively speaking too. They've been running parallel to each other their whole lives and them being the same age makes that even more intense. Eddie had to grow up too fast and Buck didn't have to grow up at all. Eddie was forced to take care of more than he could and Buck was never allowed to care as much as he wanted. Both of them ran because their lives were overwhelming. Buck gives Eddie the tools to slow down for the first time in years while Eddie gives Buck something he's allowed to care about. They're two sides of the same coin. They complement each other. They're each other's missing piece. And that's so much better when they're the same age.

gripping the fucking sink. superpowers in worm as visceral hyper-literal depictions of trauma & traumatized behavior patterns + taylor’s power as the ability to micromanage, to hyper-vigilantly monitor & control all aspects of a situation better than everyone else, to justify her atlas complex by demonstrating that she really is the only one who can carry the weight + khepri as the natural conclusion of that, as a very literal depiction of her losing herself to carry the world on her back, as devastating apotheosis to a shattered godhood fueled by her terrifyingly selfless & ruthless core + the epilogue as “okay, so you’ve fully given into yourself, you’ve flung yourself head-first into the awful, inevitable, glorious conclusion of all the ways you are hurt, and you realized it wasn’t really worth it, and you have lost yourself and died and been reborn--so What Do You Do Now?”

I present to the FOP fandom: the Elad AU, also known as the Anti-Dale AU. What if Dale signed a contract becoming a fairy during the takeover of Fairy World? What if Dev met his anti-fairy, Elad, who treats him like a loving father should? Here is chapter one of my fanfic, “Elad.” Rated T for some violence and angst.

i try to tear the clock off the wall at my menial 9-to-5 job so i can work without the painful reminder of how i'm trading my finite time for poverty wages, but pulling at the clock reveals that it's connected to the wall not by electrical wires, but by arteries and veins and connective tissue. i keep yanking as the steady tick-tick turns into something like a panicked heartbeat, even as blood stains my only good work shirt and my hold on the flimsy plastic frame starts to slip. one by one, the wretched veins snap until i'm left with a silent plastic corpse. the only sound in my office is the steady tick-tick of my heart.
i have to meet with my boss to talk about damaging company property tomorrow morning
