Elsa's Snowflake in Anna's Eyes ❄️
According to The Art of Frozen, Elsa has a "signature snowflake shape."
"If you saw it anywhere in the movie, you'd know it wasn't nature, it was her." — Dan Lund, effects artist.
Tumblr media
So, when they pointed out the detail that Elsa's snowflake appears in Anna's eyes as she turns into solid ice, it was like a cruel reminder for Elsa that what she had done to Anna wasn't nature's fault... it was hers.
Tumblr media
Though her pupils no longer constrict in the movie, Elsa's snowflakes are still seen all around Anna's eyes!

"Welcome to Rosas" took inspo from the wrong opening songs
Tumblr media
"Wish" is an exhausting topic, but this is not the last time I'm gonna talk about it! I don't remember all the influences the song was said to take influence from, but "Welcome to Rosas" seemed to embody the more upbeat Disney openings, songs that embraced community and how the protagonist fit into it, such as...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, I think Disney should've went in a different direction, going for a worldbuilding song that was epic and mysterious, dramatic and foreboding, just as much haunting as it was enticing, such as...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Just now realizing we haven't gotten many epic opening songs for the musicals that fit the criteria lately.)
As an amateur songwriter, I know how hard it can be to write an opening song, but WTR just didn't work, neither in production, lyrics, or entertainment.

I am in the planning process of a Frozen Au Fanfic for my Twisted FairyTales Series. But I am having trouble deciding who would be the main characters(i.e Elsa and Anna) and these are my current options but I want to have some outside opinions before I continue

FUN FACT: Elsa was almost responsible for Hans going to the grave twice.
Tumblr media
In "Frozen Heart" it is revealed that she tried to impose a much more severe sentence on him for the murder attempts, but it was Anna who stopped her because she just wanted to get him out of Arendelle as quickly as possible. I've seen people arguing that Hans wouldn't be executed because it could create trade problems between the two kingdoms… But considering how much the King of the Southern Isles cares about the prince, it's very likely that he would pay for Elsa to take the man to the execution.
In "Frozen Fever" Elsa blows a trumpet and ends up "accidentally" sending a huge snowball into the Southern Islands, which hits Hans, crushing him in the manure cart. And that was the character's last 100% canonical appearance in the franchise if you ignore "Disney Magic Kingdoms". But then recently at the Disney parks, news was revealed saying that everyone from the Southern Islands came to Arendelle for a celebration, except Hans who was banished and still recovering from the injuries he suffered after being crushed by a huge and mysterious snowball.
Tumblr media
I wonder if Elsa will have a third chance to kill him… I personally would prefer Kristoff to be responsible. Kristoff was initially going to face Hans in "Frozen 1" and is the only one of the trio who has not yet humiliated this abusive prince.

10 YEARS OF FROZEN !!!
Tumblr media
This is nuts. So much has changed, yet I can still remember clearly how this animated movie captured my attention immediatly. At the time I wasn't much interested in animated movies, so I didn't watch it in theaters. But when I "discovered" it in 2014, it became an obsession. The characters, the story, the themes, even the music. These two sisters, despite their differeces, still longing for each other, yet facing trauma, their separation and the isolation from the rest of the world ... and even the other characters, Olaf, Kristoff & Sven, Hans, they all are so interesting to follow.
Everything captured my interest, as if I was watching not just something aimed for families, but FOR EVERYBODY in a deeper sense: a full fleshed-out movie that talked universaly to the whole audience, indifferently of age or gender.
And here talking is a guy who always loved blockbusters, is obsessed with Transformers, superhero movies etc so this speaks volumes of how special Frozen is, and its world-wide success is a proof of that. And all the time watching the movie, the ending always felt just like the beginning of something, which is why at the time, I was such a big supporter for a Frozen 2.
It's probably the first movie (animated or live-action is indifferent) that I actually analyzed deeper than just "Wow, how cool is that!". In a way, Frozen is what opened the doors for me to the world of cinema, wanting to learn more about the background work to develop a movie, the ideas, the vision and the ultimate goal of what they were or are narrating.
I own this movie so much and I can't wait for what the future will hold for us, knowing we are going to get a two-parter story as what is probably the "final chapter".
HAPPY 10 YEARS FROZEN !!!

What did Hans do for his father in 'a frozen heart'?
There's this part in the book where he's talking about collecting taxes off of people and then someone told him they couldn't pay it so he did something and he felt really disgusting afterwards but I'm wondering what it was or was it intentionally kept ambiguous so you could imagine the worst.

Random worldbuilding tidbit I think people should use more: ICE HARVESTING
Before refrigeration, the only way to keep food cold was to bring in ice from elsewhere, making it an absolutely thriving trade, especially in the 19th century when insulation and ships had improved enough to transport it far away. Blocks of it would be shipped in, brought down from mountains, or harvested from local waters in winter and stored in icehouses for distribution in spring, summer, and autumn.
In your pre-modern worlds, where do people get their ice? Wizards able to freeze water might have a job selling it during the warm seasons. Gathering ice was also a winter task for many farmers, so consider incorporating that into your characters’ daily lives. If there’s no way to get ice — in regions that don’t freeze in the winter or are too far away from the poles for easy trade, or in worlds without insulation technology — how do people preserve their food?
And don’t think I forgot about science fiction, because space ice miners are a concept that’s been stuck in my head for YEARS. Asteroids colonies, space stations, terraforming projects, arid planets, and other settlements with little to no natural water will all require a reliable supply thereof. And if your setting has nuclear fusion or hydrogen fuel, more water is always appreciated for electrolysis. The great thing is that ice is pretty abundant in space. From pioneering terraformers cracking the poles of Mars to frontier Oort-hoppers wrangling comets at the outer reaches of the solar system to interstellar operations stripping planets of their rings and stars of their asteroid belts, there’s room for ice mining in every space setting.
Aside from worldbuilding, the profession itself would make for some excellent stories, no matter what setting. Ice cutting is a dangerous job, wherein the very ground you stand on is liable to break up and plunge you into freezing doom if your cuts are not precise. It would be no simpler in space, contending with all the perils of zero-G. Backgrounds could be diverse, from farmers simply providing for their own families to fully professional ice harvesters and sellers.
If nothing else, it’ll provide an excuse to reference the best song from Frozen.

Hello Anna! May I have prompt 26 with queerplatonic Aredhel and Celegorm pls? <3
“You know I can’t feel that way,” Írissë snapped. She clenched her fists, trying to hide how much she was shaking—with anger, betrayal, fear.
She’d thought he understood her. She’d thought he was different. Had she been wrong?
(Would anyone ever understand?)
Tyelkormo’s eyes were wide with dismay. “I don’t—I didn’t mean it like that!” he protested.
Írissë bared her teeth. “How did you mean it, then?”
“I—” Tyelkormo huffed. “You know. We fit together. We’re partners in the Hunt—you get me—you don’t ask for more than I can give...”
“But you can ask for more than I can give?” she spat. “Valar, Turco, I can’t believe I thought—”
She spun around and slammed her fist on a nearby tree. She couldn’t let him see her cry, not like this. Not ever.
“I don’t—Rissi!” Tyelkormo approached her, stopping before he got too close. Good—he hadn’t lost all sense of respect for her. Yet.
“I don’t mean it in a romantic way,” he said haltingly, and perhaps it was that hesitancy—so uncharacteristic of him—that finally made Írissë still, and listen.
“Please,” he said. “I—you know I want you, that’s not ever been a secret between us. But I love you, too. Not just as a bedmate, or as a cousin—as a friend. A partner. And I don’t mean like a—a husband.” Even without turning, she could just tell he was pulling a face at the idea, the way she did when she thought about being called anyone’s wife. “But—something else. You’re special, Riss. I just...want you to know that.”
Something softened in Írissë’s frozen heart. She turned around again, and was astonished to see that he was crying.
“You don’t have to feel the same about me,” Tyelkormo said. “Or—or even put up with me anymore. I’m sorry it all came out wrong...”
Írissë didn’t know what she’d do with all that, if she could find a place in her heart the way he wanted her to, even if it wasn’t the same way she’d first feared. But she knew one thing: there was no way she was leaving him, not when she loved and cared about him, too.
So she threw her arms around him in a crushing hug, and let him squeeze her tight. It was always amazing to feel his strong embrace, and the desperation of the way he held her now was even better, warming her all the way to her fëa.
“You idiot,” she whispered in his ear, and was rewarded with a watery chuckle. “As if you could get rid of me that easily!”

the fix where the reader sings and cleans her weapons?
yes. Just yes.
This does not need to be encouraged because I was listening to Frozen Heart from Frozen and was having thoughts about and enemies to lovers, Azriel x winter court advisor fic and the absolute emotion of it all? Reader would be very hostile to anyone from the Night Court because of how Rhys has preserved his mask as the cruel High Lord and after Amarantha killed all those children? I also like to think Kallias wouldn’t be entirely discouraging of her behaviour since he agrees and just—
Az seeing her as similar to Eris, minus being able to fight, but then seeing how her ice works and understanding why she’s the advisor Kallias and Viviane turn to whenever they have a difficult decision 🫠
(Also it’s coming up for winter so the timing is just— ❄️🧊🌨️☃️ )
