N'Yak - After the Bomb
Sadly, this entry from After the Bomb does not indicate how many residents of N'Yak are, in fact, Mutant Yaks (regardless of age or martial arts affiliation).

Addressing Sonic's Moral Code Part 2
Part 1
Now on to Eggman some question why doesn't Sonic just take him to prison, which outside of a Sonic Twitter Takeover gag about Sonic taking him to prison people have put forward an answer to this. Putting Eggman in prison would put everyone there in immediate danger because all his robots would head there to break him out. We also know Eggman dissolved G.U.N. so one can only guess what he'd do to a prison he is put in. Once again it does seem like Sonic could possibly be against carceral punishment.
So why doesn't he just kill Eggman? Well aside from Sonic knowing that there is more to Eggman than just an evil genius bent on world domination, given their previous interactions in other games. It is established Eggman during Metal Virus does seem to legimately ponder changing and go back to being Mr. Tinker. But the main reason he doesn't is because the IDW Comics is canon to the games, and they have to stick with the status quo in keeping Eggman as Sonic's archnemesis. This isn't the non-canon Archie where you can kill off Robotnik and later replace him with Robo-Robotnik. I do find it interesting how this spawned multiple fan what if scenarios.
Now for Metal, many people believe the Metal Virus could have been avoided is Sonic either didn't release Metal or destroyed him, and that Sonic can't redeem Metal. They use a panel where Eggman is taunting Sonic saying Metal's software makes him this way and Metal can't break free of it. The problem with this we know this is just Eggman taunting Sonic, and we know this is wrong. Sonic even before Eggman's taunts this points this very thing out. Canonically multiple robots built by Eggman have broken free and moved beyond their base program, no longer being limited by their software. Thus rebelling against Eggman and joining the heroes. Sonic lists off E-123 Omega and Gemerl as one that have broken free, but they are far from the only ones. You also have E-102 Gamma, Bomb, and Heavy are more examples.
So why doesn't Metal Sonic, well it's the same answer as Eggman's answer. This isn't the Archie Comics where Metal Sonic can move beyond his base Programming and become a hero known as Shard. But speaking of the Archie Comics Shadow actual tries to do what Sonic has been doing in the IDW Comics to the 2nd version of Metal Sonic. Shadow makes parallels between him and Metal and tries to get him to change.

I like to headcanon that the sosu has TERRIBLE radiation resistance. Like, most people that grew up outside of vaults have some sort of built up resistance, but not sole. they probably would have to wear a gas mask like 24/7 to avoid radiation sickness, at least until their body gets used to the environment.

BRUCE BANNER COMIC APPEARANCES RATED
no one was kidding when they said bruce banner had no consistent appearance. this is me failing to reconcile each one i’ve come across. send me more if you want me to rate them.
Tumblr media
Matteo Scalera - Indestructible Hulk #9
point for looking fucked up. not a fan of the short hair, but maybe that’s because of the whole prisoner of SHIELD thing, so whatever. 1/10.
Tumblr media
Ryan Ottley - Hulk (2021) #1
-10000/10 WHO IS THIS???? NOTHING TO INDICATE THIS IS A MAN OF SCIENCE, EVERYTHING TO INDICATE THE DIVE IN PLOT AND CHARACTERIZATION.
Tumblr media
Derec Aucoin - Spider-Man Family #9
THE super nerd. a little young, but hides behind a thin veneer of calm well. the tweed and bowtie is an interesting choice. hope he doesn’t mind if they get ripped. 8/10.
Tumblr media
Veronica Fish - Spider-Woman (2016) #11
a bit of a heart-throb???? looks like a long suffering grad student more than a man who’s been running from the military for years. where are his glasses? 4/10.
Tumblr media
Lee Garbett - Immortal Hulk #6
super grizzled and super tired. trust me, this issue was exhaustion to the max. this is the haunted (hunted) man, and i’m honestly digging the flannel. gotta show those midwestern roots somehow. unfortunately all of these pluses don’t add up to an iconic bruce banner look, unless he was trying to steal wolverine’s. 5/10.
Tumblr media
Adam Kubert - The Incredible Hulk (1968) #466
the scientist! prideful and yet kind, hiding a deep well of sadness and anti-military sentiments. 10/10.
Tumblr media
Stefano Caselli - Avengers Assemble (2012) #9
glasses! scientist! a little tired but doing better :) 10/10.
Tumblr media
Alan Davis - Totally Awesome Hulk #8
the smile! a very fresh bruce banner. looks like just some guy. 8/10.
Tumblr media
Joe Bennett - Immortal Hulk #2
unfortunately i’m not a big fan of the detailed, almost grotesque art style. but, i concede that it’s fitting for this run. anyway, this is a very expressive and tired bruce that still tries. 7/10.
Tumblr media
Tom Fowler - Hulk Season One
a dangerous bruce. a scientist and a loner that is intimately aware of the potential to do both harm and good. the glasses are used really well in this comic, trust me. 100/10.
Tumblr media
Salvador Larroca - Avengers (2013) #28
okay, i think im going to get some flak for this, but i really like this bruce. dangerous, but still looks like a guy off the street. the hair has the perfect amount of flop. i’ll forgive the lack of glasses and round up. 10/10.
Tumblr media
Larroca again! This time from the previous issue.
this alternate universe bruce is soft. a real deceptive one here. and tragic. he steals 616 bruce’s sandwich btw. that’s all i’ll say. 10/10.
Tumblr media
Stefano Caselli again! This time from Avengers World #5
really showing us how even the same artist will draw the same guy differently. this time, Stark (tm) edition. unfortunately this means he fits the “asshole engineer” profile more than the “scientist” one. 6/10.
Tumblr media
Mike McKone - Avengers: Endless Wartime
a scientist with sadness in his eyes, but he still finds things to smile about, maybe. probably more of a nervous smile. 9/10.

i want to be a machine learning engineer but some of u guys r making it embarrassing actually. long but IMO important explanation below. We have bigger issues to deal w and better things to focus on.
like our planet is dying and the commercialisation of massive AI models and training the models themselves releases like hundreds of thousands of tonnes of carbon emissions. and this includes very "nonessential" models that don't tend to contribute much to society (re: new fancy image generation toy). but u have decided your new career path is "AI artist" (glorified prompt-writer?) .
and just as bad, some of you have decided the biggest issue w AI is those people, the glorified prompt writers!! you draw more attention to it instead of focusing on the real problems behind AI and the ethics of training models! about the harm it causes to the planet, about web-scraping limitations basically not existing (stolen art falls under this domain), copyright laws to do with AI, the way facial recognition deals with race, about the boundaries between letting AI learn and develop in an "unbiased" way vs preventing sociopolitical damage at the cost of (potentially) further progress.
conversely, there is nowhere NEAR enough focus about how AI can help us overcome some of our fundamental problems. i love machine learning bc i find it - specifically the maths behind it - fascinating and i believe one day it could help us make very cool advancements, as it already has. i think the mathematical architectures and processes behind creating new deep learning models are beautiful. i also know the damage capitalists will inevitably do - they always wield powerful, beautiful new tools as weapons.
AND HERE YOU ARE FALLING FOR IT! it's very frustrating to watch!! if you're angry on behalf of artists, i'm begging you to protect the rights of artists and be mad at greedy companies instead of villanising a tool that can help us immensely! learn about AI ethics, learn about how it is present in our lives, what we should try to stop, what we should promote.
if you "boycott AI" as a whole with no desire to gain more literacy on the topic other than "steals art therefore bad", you will have to be against your translate app, your search engine, your email spam filter, almost everything on your phone that categorises anything (i.e. pretty much all of your search functions), NPC enemies in games, your medical diagnostic tools, your phone's face unlock, your maps app, online banking, accessibility tools that help blind and deaf people, new advancements in genetic sequencing and protein folding and treating cancer and modelling new solutions in physics and so on and so on.
the issue isn't all AI as a whole. the issue is A) how companies are using it and B) how a lot of you guys are getting mad at the concept of AI instead of responding to A.

I found this clip on YouTube years ago, and just now rediscovered it.
The move being demonstrated is a Kurutto Bomb (くるっボム, "spinning around bomb"). It's the "powerbomb to facebuster" move from WWF No Mercy on Nintendo 64, which I always liked as a finisher. This is the only time I've ever seen the move executed in real life.
Apparently it's one of the signature moves of Gamma in Dragon Gate, so I assume that's the guy doing it in the clip. But I'm not 100% sure.

Hey Hulks, would you please rate the following names on a scale of 1-10 on how much you want to smash them, with 1 being the lowest, and on a separate 1-10 scale of how hard they are to smash: Loki, Green Goblin, Doom, Thanos, Ultron, Magneto.
Tumblr media
“ Hmph-- Loki gets smashed plenty whenever he decides to show his face. Web-Head’s villains I do not care for unless they get in my way. Thanos-- Glutton for punishment. Ultron-- Smashing robots gets exhausting after a while, not worth the trouble its worth, but make for a decent exercise in the end. Magneto hasn’t wronged me. Doom and I stay out of each other’s way, he knows what happens if he doesn’t.”
Tumblr media
“ Darlin’, for we Hulks...There ain’t no such thing as hard to smash.”
