[I]n 2021, Glassdoor acquired Fishbowl, a professional networking app that integrated with Glassdoor last July. This acquisition meant that every Glassdoor user was automatically signed up for a Fishbowl account. And because Fishbowl requires users to verify their identities, Glassdoor's terms of service changed to require all users to be verified.
…
Ever since Glassdoor's integration with Fishbowl, Glassdoor's terms say that Glassdoor "may update your Profile with information we obtain from third parties. We may also use personal data you provide to us via your resume(s) or our other services." This effort to gather information on Fishbowl users includes Glassdoor staff consulting publicly available sources to verify information that is then used to update Glassdoor users' accounts.
Holy shit this is a bad move. Maybe consider deleting your Glassdoor account if you have one? I don't have any experience with Blind, but I hope they don't pull any dumb stunts like this one.

I deactivated my account late last night after seeing this, and they emailed me back saying one of my reviews didn't meet their guidelines. I won't be re-activating to 'appeal their decision' by changing it because I haven't used this site in forever. But my 'review' when I used to work for a problematic wellness retail chain was mostly about rampant micro-management, a lack of proper pay raises -especially since there was zero commissions for the amount of work you do in-store, to not being compensated properly for work outside of your duties (and the blurring of those responsibilities because I would often do things a store manager would do or an assistant even when I stepped down -like training). I wrote it very professionally, without profanity, so it makes me wonder what the hell I said that was so inappropriate.... interesting Glassdoor.

Pro: Adjective, short for Professional, "following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain."
So "pro ship" is a job, right?
Think that's photoshopped?
Now. Where the hell do I send my resume?

PSA for current and former Spindlehorse employees
The company has a Glassdoor page. You can leave an anonymous review.
You may have been aware of this before, but sometimes it’s nice to have a reminder.
I’m not pointing this out for the sake of spamming the page with negative reviews, or artificially inflating the ratings to make the work environment seem more favorable than it really is (by the way, any employer who tells you to do this isn’t someone you want to work for). This isn’t an attempt to stir up drama or some such juvenile bullshit. This is about nothing but the truth. Future candidates deserve to know what they’re getting into, positive or negative. And employees deserve a place to be open and honest about their experience without fear of backlash. Seeing as this blog has grown somewhat Spindlehorse-flavored of late, I just thought I’d put it out there.
(And to anyone else reading this, check to see if your company is on Glassdoor, too. Drop your own review for the sake of those who may follow. Full transparency benefits all workers. We have to stick together and highlight great employers, and weed out those who treat their staff as disposable.)

Did you know you can report fake job offers to the Better Business Bureau?
They're not really clear on what a "fake job offer" is, but personally, if you're shown an ad or "job listing that might interest you" by a site like Glassdoor, and it doesn't seem to be real, I would consider that to be being "approached about a fake job offer."
Now, the company who posted the listing isn't the one that "approached" you, but the one running the website is. I wonder what would happen if the BBB started receiving a bunch of scam reports about all the fake job listings on those sites.
Anyway, if you think you've been targeted by a scam, you can report it here:

Do you have account on Glassdoor? Have you ever left a review for a company you work(ed) for on Glassdoor?
TIME TO DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT!
Glassdoor has been caught pulling names off private emails / support tickets and adding real names to users' profiles without their consent: "...instead of removing information, Glassdoor's support team would take the real name that she provided in her support email and add it to her Glassdoor profile—despite Monica repeatedly and explicitly not consenting to Glassdoor storing her real name."
"Glassdoor now requires your real name and will add it to older accounts without your consent if they learn it, and your only option is to delete your account... They do not care that this puts people at risk with their employers."
Glassdoor's terms say that Glassdoor "may update your Profile with information we obtain from third parties. We may also use personal data you provide to us via your resume(s) or our other services."
"Basically, if Glassdoor discovers an inaccuracy in a user's profile, such as a typo or misspelling, it will update users' profiles without notifying the user." This includes adding incorrect or outdated information to your profile without telling you!
Note: Deleting your account will NOT remove your data. You must request a data erasure.
Go here to request that Glassdoor deletes your personal data:
https://help.glassdoor.com/s/privacyrequest?language=en_US
Scroll to the bottom, fill out the form, and submit. Then click on the verification link in the email they send you.

These attractive doors are pure glass, handles, and hinges. The glass is very thick and heavy, providing an expensive look and feel to add a touch of class to the building decor. These doors are prevalent in malls, offices, fitness centers, and church buildings because of their aesthetically pleasing look of elegance. They come with a variety of opening and closing hardware choices to customize the appearance of the door specific to your needs.

Hi followers! i recently made a tentatively GoFundMe due to a recent decision to quit my previous toxic work environment that was risking my mental health and because I decided to quit I am unqualified for unemployment income as I try and find a new position because, you know, “everybody is hiring”. So anything will be very much appreciated for the set goal! - (kath) ryn
