Most of you probably have heard of the protests in Turkey following Ekrem Imamoğlu's (Erdoğan's main rival) arrest, which as a mutual of mine(who cannot make their own post because the government is monitoring the users' internet activity and there are high chances of being detained/arrested) said: "That was the catalyst, but the root of this matter is the fact that erdoğan is taking away our right to elect and be elected and turning the regime into an autocratic dictatorship when it should be democratic and absolutely secular. That's not all of it obviously, and definitely not the only thing that we are protesting against, but it's the most important one of all"

Since March 19 over 1900 people have been arrested (students, journalists, etc).

To make the protests look violent, while they are in fact peaceful, the government is sending provocators to make the cops mad and show how the police is being "treated"(ahem ahem) in the protests.

The police are violent towards people that were protesting peacefully, both out in the protests and when they have already been detained. They are attacking the protestors with pepper spray, plastic bullets and high-pressurized water.

In his eyes, nothing was wrong with what he was doing; he was just checking up on his future partner, he'd secretly just take pictures or video record you doing your normal routines. He kept them in a secret folder for him to just pleasure himself with.

Yan!Hacker uses scummy websites he made to get people so he could get information from them and exploiting peoppe for money in exchange he doesn't share their sensitive info. It was an awful practice, but he did make money off of it. A significantly large amount of money...

Using all the information he had from you, he decided to finally strike. He sent you countless dm's about how he has your information. It was blatant blackmail; if you didn't comply with him, he'd leak your info, and your life would be ruined forever. This is something I've never seen before- They painted the wood in the entrance hall white, but in the other rooms, they painted the color of the walls- monochromatic- covering every bit of wainscoting, etc. The 1899 Victorian in Carrollton, KY has 4bds, 2ba, 2,973sqft, and is a bargain at $425k.

The main hall is all original under all the white paint.

This is sort of like a sun room, off to the side of the sitting room, facing the porch. They even covered the fireplace.

See, they took the wall color and just covered everything. It's not terrible, just something I've never seen in a Victorian redo.

The dining room has pale wallpaper and coordinating trim.

But, I absolutely love the kitchen. No fitted cabinetry, just so vintage.

It's just lovely. (How do they keep that picture clean w/o an exhaust?)

And, in the back hall is an original pantry.

There are 2 baths, so this must be the 1st fl. bath. I like the vintage shower and pedestal sink, plus the penny tiles.

Nice, light stained glass windows on the stairs.

The primary bedroom is very large and features a window seat.

This children's room is also very large and includes the tower area.

Bd. #3 is a cute smaller room.

This would be bath #2 on the 2nd fl. Aside from the paint, the home is just about pristine.

Bd. #4 is lovely. I like the soft muted colors they chose.

This is great- the turret.

The attic isn't finished, but look at how cool this room is, right off the turret. There's no insulation, so they've put up sheets of plastic.

This is probably why they're selling- they need more space.

Really makeshift quarters.

There's a small patio behind the house.

They've also got a large shed with a covered patio.

This is quite a furniture workshop in here.

Phrygia

Phrygia was the name of an ancient Anatolian kingdom (12th-7th century BCE) and, following its demise, the term was then applied to the general geographical area it once covered in the western plateau of Asia Minor. With its capital at Gordium and a culture which curiously mixed Anatolian, Greek, and Near Eastern elements, one of the kingdom's most famous figures is the legendary King Midas, he who acquired the ability to turn all that he touched to gold, even his food. Following the collapse of the kingdom after attacks by the Cimmerians in the 7th century BCE, the region came under Lydian, Persian, Seleucid, and then Roman control.

Historical Overview

The fertile plain of the western side of Anatolia attracted settlers from an early period, at least the early Bronze Age, and then saw the formation of the Hittite state (1700-1200 BCE). The first Greek reference to Phrygia appears in the 5th-century BCE Histories of Herodotus (7.73). The Greeks applied the name to the Balkan immigrants who, sometime after the 12th century BCE, relocated to western Anatolia following the fall of the Hittite Empire in that region. The kingdom's traditional founder and first king was Gordios (aka Gordias). A legendary figure, Gordios is most famous today as the creator of the 'Gordian Knot', a fiendishly difficult piece of rope-work the king had used to tether his cart. The story goes that an oracle had foretold that the person who knew how to untie the knot would rule over all of Asia, even the whole world. The cart and the knot were, incredibly, still there at Gordium when Alexander the Great (356-323 BCE) arrived a good few centuries later. Alexander was said to have heard the story and, rather unsportingly, sliced the knot open with a single blow of his sword. In other accounts, the young general slipped the pin out of the cart's yoke pole and slid the knot off that way.

The neighbouring states of Phrygia, which similarly formed out of the remnants of the Hittite Empire, were Caria (south), Lydia (west), and Mysia (north). Phrygia's territory expanded to reach Daskyleon in the north and the western edge of Cappadocia. Phrygia prospered thanks to the fertile land, its location between the Persian and Greek worlds, and the skills of the state's metalworkers and potters. Chamber tombs, especially at the capital Gordium, have distinctive doorways and their excavated contents have revealed both the use of the language of Indo-European Phrygian (from the 8th century BCE) and the wealth which gave rise to the legend of the fabulously rich King Midas (see below).

Phrygia was conquered by the Cimmerians in the 7th century BCE but the period of domination by Lydia and Persia has left an impoverished archaeological record. We know that Lydia expanded under the reign of the Mermnad dynasty (c. 700-546 BCE), and especially King Gyges (r. c. 680-645 BCE). Phrygia was absorbed c. 625 BCE with Gordium conquered around 600 BCE. Lydia then continued to prosper with such famed kings as Croesus (r. 560-547 BCE). Over the next century, the Persians took over Anatolia following the victory of Cyrus II (d. 530 BCE) over the Lydians at the Battle of Halys in 546 BCE. The region was then made a Persian satrapy. Phrygia continued to be used as a label of convenience for the general and ill-defined geographical area which had once been ruled by the now-defunct kingdom of that name.

After the campaigns of Alexander the Great, the region of Phrygia/Lydia came under the control of one of Alexander's successors, Antigonus I (382-301 BCE). Shortly after, Anatolia became a part of the Seleucid Empire c. 280 BCE. As a consequence of this takeover, many settlers came from ancient Macedon and their Hellenistic culture with them. Notable Phrygian towns in this period besides Gordium included Hierapolis, Laodikeia by the Lykos (aka Laodicea), Aizanoi, Apamea, and Synnada, although most of the region's population lived in small, agriculturally-based villages.

Phrygia became a part of the Roman province of Asia (with a part in Galatia, too) in 116 BCE, and the region now grew in scope, at least as a geographical term. To quote the Oxford Classical Dictionary:

During the Roman period the region extended north to Bithynia, west to the upper valley of the Hermus and to Lydia, south to Psidia and to Lycaonia, and east as far as the Salt Lake (1142).

Phrygia then became embroiled in the Mithridatic Wars of the 1st century BCE between Rome and the kings of Pontus. With the reign of Augustus (27 BCE - 14 CE), there followed a period of peace and stability in the region. Prosperity was ensured by the continued fertility of the land and the important marble quarries near Dokimeion - stone from there would be used in such buildings as Trajan's Forum in Rome and the Library of Celsus at Ephesus. Into the 3rd century CE, the culture of the region had become a mix of indigenous Anatolian, Greek, Roman, Jewish, and Christian practices and customs. The Phrygian language, as attested by inscriptions, was still in use in the 3rd century CE, although it is called New Phrygian by historians to distinguish it from the Old Phrygian used when the kingdom itself was in existence (the link between the two was likely created by the language being spoken only as a vernacular in the interim).

Cones and Ridges

Long time reader, first time asker. I love your colour theory stuff and I came across this side by side gif set of Madney pregnancy moments and noticed they’re in the same colours. Blue and red. I know you mainly focus on Buddie but was curious if you’d noticed Madney themes?

Hi!! My main thing with my metas, except for the blue and yellow (for the most part since henren do have some blue and yellow coding too) is that I use the other couples to prove a pattern and apply it to buddie to say that they are writing buddie purposefully as romantic. I do have a meta on the blue and red combo, I literally saw the madney still and went "oh, Maddie is pregnant" because blue and red is a parenting color combo, they used it all around henren's fostering storyline and madney both discuss the idea of a having a baby in 301 and find out they are pregnant both times in blue and red. (I have a meta on that and how that ends up applying to buddie here)

And something interesting about the blue and red coding of the 806 scene where we find out Maddie is pregnant again, is that even the props are blue and red.

And that's fun because since madney are the couple that they used to establish the blue and green thing, their house tends to be more blue and green when it comes to utensils and stuff, like the green pots, the blue couch, even Jee's room is blue and greenish.

And madney pretty much make the blue and green thing with couples a thing because their first scene is the first blue and green scene (I mean technically it is Chim and Tatiana in 204 but it is blue and teal, the shades there are really pushing it, 206 is very clear especially since they are blue and green from head to toe). And a lot of major developments in their relationship also happen in blue and green, meeting, finding out Jee is a girl, getting back together, and more.

The show also pushes that with the way Boston and There Goes The Groom are very blue and green coded. And this is a fun aspect when you consider how gloomy the colors look in 512 in comparison to 706.

I mostly don't write metas on the other couples because I feel like most people don't want to read them since they are already established? But the patterns are there.
