V:tM Mary & Augustus for Wip Wednesday
He woke up the next evening and made it all the way through cooking himself eggs for “breakfast” before he remembered. He stared at the plate accusingly for several long minutes before putting a dash of hot sauce on it and digging in. Those ended up in his toilet as well, redder than the sriracha should have made it. He spent the rest of the night cleaning and reorganizing all the clothes in his apartment, eventually giving up on both the suit and the jeans and tank top he’d brought home with him.
The building’s laundry room was deserted, which made sense, given the hour. He sat next to his laundry basket on the table across from the washers and watched his clothes spin in the dim basement lighting. Eventually, he ran out of clothes. He’d folded all his laundry, hung up his delicates on their rack to dry, and had a sizable pile in a box for donation. It didn’t distract him enough from the fact that he’d seen a neighbor on his way back upstairs and spent some time imagining him bleeding.

I'll never not believe that Davos is the one who fell first and harder. that he wasn't the one getting his heart truly broken. the one fighting for Aaron's love and attention and aching when he is denied. the one longing for Aeron and having to reckon with the fact that he can never truly have him, there's too much keeping them apart.
sure, Aeron has his own feelings, his own longing, his dread.
but you can see it in their faces, it's Davos's heart that's a mess, his soul that is aching, while Aeron is more confused and unsure of his own feelings and where they lie in the mess that is feuds and war and blood and kin.
Davos is angry but full of bitter, rage filled acceptance. Aeron is scared, confused, and stuck between acceptance and denial. and it's breaking me.

the entirety of red hood/arsenal is just jason going on like:
"well i'm kinda starting to accept that it isn't always roy's fault for dragging me into these elaborate schemes. i'm a consenting adult, and i've actually chosen myself, to follow wherever he goes. not one of my better calls, but it was mine."
"and when he wanted me to move across the country with him, of course i said yes. i thought my answer was a product of persuasion, but i would have done it without a fight."
"it annoys me when roy spends all our money on stupid shit. but i keep letting him do it so we can pick up more jobs and spend more time together. i think it's good for him."
"roy made a fancam of me and put it on the largest L.A billboard he could find. some perceived it as a profession of love, if only they knew the type of shit he tried with me on a daily basis."
"i used to be really opposed to roy's oddly intimate nicknames, but now i catch myself off-guard referring to him as 'bestie'. i haven't tried to stop though, it seems to please him."
"i think roy sees me as a test guinea pig sometimes. he keeps trying to convince me it's just because we're super close and total bros, but i don't think 'total bros' test their prototype flamethrowers on each other mid-shower."
"roy's like a master guilt-tripper. honestly most of the choices i make now are in the interest of making him happy, because even if i act on accord of my own feelings, one display of emotion from him and i'm already rescinding my actions. you think it's because i love him? wrong. i just hate when he gets whiny."
"i don't think roy's ever going to grow up. he's so lucky he has totally 100% grown up me to guide him and not encourage his childishness."
roy on the other hand:
"yippee!!! my personal boytoy bestie is travelling the world with me and we're making the coolest memories together. hope i don't go fuck this up and hit a devastating rock bottom."

What about combining Fae Dick and Eldritch Jason?
Except, Bruce is genuinely clueless. He thinks both his kids are baseline human - guy has no clue how normal kids work, lol.
So when Jason 'dies', Dick is mad at Bruce for letting it deteriorate that far, but he isn't too grieved. He knows Jay will turn up sooner or later, the only question is how pissed he is going to be.
That's the main reason Dick staying back to support Bruce doesn't work - Bruce can tell Dick isn't anywhere near as cut up as he should be over his kid brother dying. He acts the part really well, but Bruce has known him for years and can tell when he's faking grief...
Now I can’t help but imagine Bruce and Alfred brokenly telling Dick about Jason, and Dick just being like “oh boy, ohhhhhh boy, that’s just… super inconvenient. Like, it couldn’t have come at a worse time.”
Alfred: … young sir, this is a shock, but we must all stick-
Dick: well duh it’s a shock, he’s been badgering me about the play at the theater next week for three months now. Do you have any idea how pissed he’ll be that he’s gonna miss it?
Alfred:… I’m not sure you understand the gravitas of the situation. Perhaps we should call Miss canary to-
Dick: oh I understand alright. You have any idea how much time Jay’s been spending on the upkeep of his body? Called me vain when he spent at least two hours each day arranging each atom to conform to human growth norms. The audacity. But no, seriously, he’s going to be so pissed…

Not the first to say it, but damn can’t believe Galladay really went from toxic yaoi to doomed tragic yaoi.
Alright fellow Galladay trash, where’s the modern AU fix-it fics?
I need to see Gallagher single dad with Misha plus their dog/cat Sleepie falling for entertainment company CEO Sunday. Don’t ask me how they met, fuck it, throw in bodyguard AU Gallagher who works part-time at a bar, boom there that’s how they meet, idk I’m making this up on 3 hours of sleep.
You’ve heard of slow burns, now get ready for Galladay blaze it.
They’re speedrunning the relationship from hate -> annoyance -> mild disgruntlement -> weirdly vibing -> ok wow never knew I needed that in my life -> Sunday is way too ok with spoiling Misha -> ok so we got married -> alright we’re dismantling the government now -> Sunday went to jail for 5 minutes for attempting “peaceful” world domination, don’t worry we (Gallagher) forgave him -> Sunday’s stepping down as CEO to run a coffeeshop idk look someone get him some therapy -> Robin is president now while she still goes on tours -> Misha won an engineering competition while this was all going on
Bottom line: Robin is out living her best life while Sunday is in the back somehow having the most insane week of his life. I have no other notes for her here except that she is happy, and successful, and is Sunday’s last remaining brain cell. She and Misha are having some fun Aunt/Nephew bonding times while Galladay are accidentally-on-purpose committing multiple war crimes.
No, we don’t have time to unpack 2.2 and all its trauma, we cope with modern AU :)

Maybe they don’t need the “get along shirt”…? Maybe a get along separated play pen? You know :3 when you feed the animals on separate sides of a baby gate so they’re safe but get to know each other :3
“Separated play pen” //// “DPD holding cells”. Close enough, right?
Hank leaves them there for the weekend sometimes when he just wants to relax.
