#Headspace for creating

"I neeed to creaaaate". But first I must gather.

One of the biggest hurdles to creating things with my hands is the process of gathering supplies. It saps me of the motivation to actually do the thing the supplies are for.

The reasons behind this are probably ADHD and dopamine related, but that's for another post.

But yesterday I had a revelation.

TL;DR Make baskets or boxes that have all the supplies you will need for a single type of project, so they can just be picked up and used.

So we all know that being organized can make things easier. But when the ADHD strikes, no amount of organizing can solve the issue completely.

Case in point. All of my art supplies are organized by type. All of the alcohol markers, felt tip markers, fine liners, colored pencils, regular pencils, brush tip pens, pastels, etc are mostly on one shelf (frequently used are in a desktop carousel), all of the paper is organized by type: card stock, (further organized by plain, textured, or patterned, and all are color sorted, etc) blank printer paper, origami paper, velum. Below that are the notebook/pad style art papers, watercolor, sketch, bristol, plus canvases, and sheets of watercolor paper. All adhesives are in one drawer. There is a "idk where the fuck this belongs" drawer with those odds and ends that are important but solo in their class. There are magzine holders full of journals and sketchbooks, reference books

Great! Yay! Hooray! You can find what you need pretty quickly!

Yes. But.

Art making and crafting isn't a mono medium. You see posts that say things like "all you need is a pencil and paper!" and sure yes, that's technically true. However my brain fills in with ....and an eraser, and you need a flat surface, and the paper has to be the right kind, the right size, what kind of sketch is this? what hardness of pencil do you need? Is there enough light in the room? Do you need references?

(yes I even torment myself with the "well akshully" stuff)

The art I make is rife with "parts", like painting (paints, palette, water, brushes, paper towels, surface to be painted on, apron) collage (base medium/substrate, image sources, adhesives for different types of paper, scissors, craft blade) sewing (fabric, shears, needles, thread, buttons, elastic, zippers, velcro, hook and eyes, snaps, ribbon, lace...) , etc.

(I do have most of the printmaking stuff in one container so that's a start...)

what's that saying about how a messy desk is the sign of a creative person?

The process of "shopping" my shelves for what is needed seems to derail any motivation. It feels like maybe my brain is happy with the idea of creating, and that's good enough. Like gathering the stuff is the goal, and having satisfied that, my brain dumps dopamine all over. Which is way less than ideal. (I am very guilty of the "I thought about doing it and am just as satisfied as if I had done it." thing. It's awful.)

SO. Then yesterday, while looking for something else, I came across a wire basket full of the supplies I had gathered to do a sewing project in bed, and I thought, that was so smart. how handy.

And I realized that I could do that with ALL of my supplies! Or at least, make up some project baskets with everything one would need to do that thing, all ready to go. So when an idea comes to mind I can just grab the basket and sit down for some art time, instead of chipping away at the urge one shelf at a time.

I sort of did this with a tackle box style of art tote, and a bunch of collage images, pens, and stickers, but it's not quite there.

It will be great for those times when the urge to make something comes up, but not a specific thing, just that "I neeed to creaaaate" blinking neon sign that can be so fleeting. Grab a basket and satisfy the need without distracting faffing about.

Obviously I'm not the first one to ever do this, and pre-school teachers are probably giggling at me for only just now thinking of this, but hey. We all learn at different speeds :p

(Oh, and I promise the fabric and desk will be at least a little bit less messy this weekend :3 )

There is a rat on An Ding Peak.

Shang Qinghua is not sure when they managed to weasel their way in, but there is for sure a rat amongst his children.

What's heartbreaking is that his own kids won't tell him who is suspicious! Traitors! This wasn't supossed to happen! He taught them too well.

Snitches get stitches is so frustrating when you are the one who needs information! Worse of all, he can't even go to Cucumber-bro to complain because he now has the Original Goods hanging from him at all times! His life is so hard.

He thinks he narrowed the possible mole down to two new disciples who came to the sect at 16 last selection. He hadn't seen them yet, because like anyone they are very busy at all times, but word of mouth tells him they are; twin sisters, smart and quick like snakes, beautiful, and as lazy as a house cat. Why someone like that would choose An Ding of all places to blend in Shang Qinghua can't say, but he is so close to catching them.

And as luck will have it, he sees a group of his children tailing a pair of ponytails swaying on what little wind there is, sadly they rounded a corner and Qinghua only saw their backs, but most importantly. Why are his children not working?! They do not have time for them to follow the moles like lovesick puppies! This must be their plan; to enamor all his disciples and bring ruin to CQM via lack of resources. Shang Qinghua might just need to kill a child.

After following them for a while, the girls separate from the group and slink off to the forest without looking back once. This is his oportunity.

"Shidi needs to up security on An Ding, this is too easy." Um... What? "Shidi is good at many things... security might jut not be one of them."

He is confusion. Um hello little spy, WHY ARE YOU CALLING HIM SHIDI?!

Ah... Twins... This is just Cucumber-bro and the Original Goods.

...At least it wasn't a spy?

But it got worse.

Shen-Shixiong and Cucumber-bro must have known he was there because he now sees them EVERYWHERE.

Im the canteen? There they are, eating prim and proper like a king's favorite concubine. In the warehouses? There they are, sleeping on a shelf or perusing the wares. On the offices? There they are, again! Reading the accountant books like they were high literature.

The worst part-

"Shizun! Shizun!"

-is that they know he can't say no to them, for fear of having Yue-Dage come for his head. That man is really going crazy these days.

With a tight smile, Shang Qinghua turns arround to see his undercover shixiongs running towards him -like spoiled children- and hide behind his back while some Bai Zhan disciples run to them. Oh god they are haunting Bai Zhan too?! "Um... What were my disciples up to?..."

"Shizun, those brutes were badmouthing An Ding-"

"So we taught them a lesson-"

"And now they want to fight with us."

Shang Qinghua is crying tears of blood, trying so hard to stay standing. Ah, Cucumber-bro, why must you get along so well with the Original Goods?! He prefered when you only raged about his writing!!!!

Welcome to the main house ৲

Deep in the forest lies the house made of moss, a cottage built with care. The flowers grow and wind it blows, magic through the air.

A long soft field with a path of stone, leads into the house. It’s made of stone, overgrown, and lights surround it dimly. The door creaks ever so slightly as it’s pulled open and you walk into the entryway. A small space rests inside with a set of stairs and a doorway.

Kitchen & Meeting Room ☆°⋆

Welcome to the kitchen & meeting room ৲

Rays of sunlight shine through the glass reflecting in every colour. Plants and seating fill the room, timer set for the hour.

Through the doorway is the kitchen and meeting room, somewhere safe to converse. The room is filled with stained glass and includes a mini fridge that is always stocked with anything anyone may want to eat or drink. Plants surround the room giving it a comfortable homey feel.

Books tucked in beneath the stairs, trinkets resting on shelves. A music room with lots to do, lets you be yourselves

The home is full of its own little quirks. An attic with books and plants, instruments and comfortable seats. The stairs to the attic have books tucked beneath each step, and windowsills are often covered in trinkets and crystals and smaller plants.

Front Room ☆°⋆

Welcome to the front room ৲

A cozy room with places to sit, overgrown wooden nooks, couches and chairs, seating for all to sit down with a book.

If you walk up the stairs you’ll enter into the front room, to the right there’s a walkway with rooms attached. Within the room there are plenty of places to sit and relax. The staircase to the attic is on here, wrapping in a circle to look like a tree.

Optional Alter Rooms ☆°⋆

Welcome to the alters rooms ৲

Nature filled rooms and walls of art, a cozy hidden bed, some things to do, dim lights above, so you can rest your head.

Down the hall are a few rooms for alters to stay when stuck in the front room, or just trying to stay nearby. They can morph into whatever room the alter may want or need, but in there neutral state look similarly to the rest of the house, plants and art, and many cute creative features.

Hobby Room ☆°⋆

And finally the hobby room ৲

A room to paint, to write, to game, somewhere safe and warm. The perfect lighting and wonderful background, for filling out a form.

The final room at the end of the hall is a hobby room, within there lays plants and windows as the rest of the home does. There are all sorts of hobby items for things like painting, writing, gaming, and crocheting. But realistically it can be used for anything else as well.

appearance: one or multiple rooms, no outside, but seeing things through windows is okay

environment: cozy & comfortable, a good space for littles and traumaholders. big enough for many alters to be there at once.

if it helps, we like extra cozy spaces and warm lighting, it's be nice if there were small spaces available for autism nesting, and it'd be nice if there was a variety of places to congregate

a hallway leading from the main headspace. the hallway is very spacious, comfortable, and has fairy lights as decoration. on both sides, there are many doors leading to different rooms within the headspace, but the door at the end, with the small staircase, leads to the main room.

MAIN ROOM

this room is very large, with lots of seats, chairs, bean bags, hammocks, and other places for headmates to be. this is the main space for headmates to have meetings, hang out together, have congregations, etc.

ROOMS

other rooms that, while not as large as the main space, are still quite big and can be used for smaller and more focused meetings, hang outs, sleep overs, congregations, etc

AUTUMN NESTS

these are small, cozy rooms littered throughout that are perfect for autumn nesting.

(note : we didnt really know what you meant by autumn nesting, so sorry if this section isnt what you wanted / meant !!)

Your Hallway to The Cemetery

💠 Appearance: This headspace is a dark and gloomy cemetery in a small clearing of a wooded area. Cobblestone paths weave throughout the rows of graves, all leading to a small church in the center. The church is a bit run down but still well lived in; and each grave holds the name of a different part and leads to a personalized space for them. A light fog always covers the headspace with lantern top style street lamps with yellow bulbs line the paths to illuminate the way.

Well that marks the end of jjk.. I'm not really happy with how all this turned out but the story will always be close to my heart. Though a lotttt of questions went unanswered and apparently everything is fine now. Most of the dead and injured are back and dandy moving to live their lives in normalcy. Our main trio is back to their work. I will admit it was quite nice seeing them being dumb and just normal(their happy faces are all i could ask for) But it did feel lacking...I picked up JJK because of how it dealt with "trauma and the effect it has on a person".

We see Geto's spiral and his downfall because of how he decided to cope with his despair, We see Gojo's struggle because he couldn't come to terms with his own trauma and was struck at the age of 17, going out in a glorious fight yet living an unsatisfied life, alone. Toji's trauma making him unable to live a good life. The narrative always had consequences of how these characters chose to cope and process their griefs and traumas.

We see Yuji and Megumi go through the same path but Yuji finally coming in terms with his grief and finds value in life without any proper role, Megumi's monologue about wanting a simple life without any burden of being the future Strongest and just wanting to live for people who cared for him, these felt cathartic because we finally got the resolution of these characters' unhealthy coping mechanisms blowing up in their faces leading them to their worst nightmare and forcing them to face and come in terms with their traumas and i was in awe watching these characters still look forward for future.. whatever it may hold. But now coming to present after such a long physically and mentally exhausting fight and everyone's...just fine? These are the characters who faced near death experiences and yet there's no sign of any traumatic consequences of that. Yuta is perfectly fine after body hopping his beloved (dead) sensei with no lasting or any trauma at all. Higuruma, Kusakabe both are on their own paths free from any repercussions even the law has been taken care of. No one is going to stop Mei Mei exploiting her brother, not even question it. The world was in chaos and now it's fine. I'd even say more like in pre Shibuya stage and that's something i'm not able to accept. After ch-268 it seems every other nuance was dropped to just finish it..

I can see Yuji's arc ending with a good resolution and a fresh start for Megumi's arc ( I'm bummed we barely got any of his thoughts or a proper conversation between him and Yuji..his arc kinda became "yeah all that happened...moving on") but all this feels so...unsatisfying. I was waiting for the manga to end before making any judgement hoping Gege was actually messing around but it seems he was pretty serious. It just feels in the end JJK lost track of what it was.. i can't believe I'm saying this..but I don't really feel anything. It concluded yeah.. everything is tied in a neat little bow.

Though I'm still happy I got to experience this story for what it was. It has been a hell of a ride and one i enjoyed a lot.
