Yes, the world is often still a terrifying nightmare for queer people.

But.

Spring 2024 served up a full season of Ava & Deborah in Hacks S3, the always delightful Abbot Elementary for its S3, and Ncuti Gatwa Fifteenth Doctor kissing Jonathan Groff on Doctor Who.

Summertime delivered Poolverine in Deadpool 3, a season of excellence with Interview with the Vampire S2, the killer finales of Umbrella Academy and Star Trek: Discovery, the continued successor to She Ra & Steven Universe in My Adventures with Superman S2, a taste of a future queerer Bridgerton in S3, the interracial interabled lesbian wedding of the year in The Dragon Prince S6, and House of the Dragon blowing up the internet for two months gay with its wonderful shenanigans—from the sept scene, to GNC-coded Rhaenyra kissing Mysaria, to Alicent going full Virginia Woolf on a MF & then proposing elopement in a 4 AM break-in.

Spooky season has the return of Jac Schaeffer to the WandaVision fam—Billy Maximoff, Teddy Altman (who he’s explicitly dating) & a bevy of PEAK lesbian activity in Agatha All Along, coming out (ha) within a month of Heartstopper S3, and the series finales of What We Do In The Shadows and Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Then, we’ll close out the year with Harlivy in Harley Quinn S5, Lady Gaga as Harley in a musical in Folie a Deux, and MF-live action WICKED PT. 1.

It was May 31st and your staying the night at your girlfriend Indi's house because for each day of Pride month you guys are going to do pride related activities, she made popcorn as you waited on the floor finding a series of movies for you guys to watch. You picked the Harry Potter series and pressed play while you opened a lego set that you both are going to build as you watched the series together. She sat next to you as part 1 of Harry Potter started you both started opening the little packets of the Harry Potter lego set.

You guys did that until 11:30 pm when you two decided to settle in the bed with your guys cats laying at the bottom curled up in a ball together. You two cuddled as a cartoon played in the background lowly as she turned off the bedside lamps, you laid your head on her chest with your arm over her as you watched the tv until you fell asleep. While you slept Indi posted a boomerang of you and her building legos together while watching Harry Potter to her Instagram story before she kissed your head good night then going to sleep herself.

The next day Indi and you woke up doing your morning routine as she posted a mirror selfie of her kissing your cheek to reveal your relationship, you let her post it because you was ok with her outing y’all’s relationship and you felt safe that the both of you are coming out together. For the first day of pride month you and Indi went to a pride friendly library and grabbed a few pride/wlw books to read while y’all sat together on beanbag chairs that the library had out. You loved when you and Indi went to the library it’s always so relaxing to read in silence and you just loved spending time with Indi in general.

This was your favorite activity to do with Indi and after you guys read a few chapters you tell each other what you read so far to see if you guys want to check out the books or not. The books you did love you both wrote down on a piece of paper so you can buy them and start collecting books to put on your guys bookshelf. When you got done in the library you and Indi checked out 2 books each putting them in the car as she drove y’all to a park. You both walked through the park holding hands as she told you about what her character is doing currently in Wwe , since you didn’t wrestle you loved listening to all the stories she would tell you; it makes you happy that she’s doing what she loved.

Day 2 of pride you and Indi sat in your guys yard with a laptop looking at pride inspired causes that you and her both donated money too, even though it seemed like a tiny gesture you both know it meant a lot to the both of you and the people running the causes. When y’all donated to enough causes Indi played music as you and her danced around in the grass together while the cats watched happily. While you guys were dancing you both thought about what the future holds for your relationship, sometimes it can be scary but it also can’t be avoided.

You loved Indi with everything in you and vice versa for her so you thought about marriage but did she? You both have been dating for 6+ years so this was a pretty serious relationship for the both of you. You leaned on her as both of y’all stood in the grass “indi have you ever thought of marrying me?” You asked looking up at her and you’ll never forget the look on her face; she was so happy that her face lit up with excitement.

“Of course I have, and when I’m ready to I’ll ask” she responded smiling. You smiled now knowing she has thought about marriage too, you two danced for what felt like forever until you went inside as it started to rain. You and her were both soaked from the rain but lucky enough that she put her laptop inside before y’all started dancing. You both looked over at each other and started laughing at how soaked y’all both were from the rain so you guys changed and made some tea together.

Day 3 of Pride you and her put a blanket in the grass in your backyard with the cats laying in the grass, you and her put painting canvases and small paint containers on the blanket before sitting down. She saw a trend on TikTok where you paint for 5 minutes then pass the canvas and continue doing that until the painting was done, so she wanted to do that trend with you using the colors of yours and her sexuality flag. You and her did that for about an hour getting like 2 paintings done so you decided to hang the 4 of them up in the living room while also hanging up the paw print ones that the cats did.

You and her also had a busy day today with things to do and errands to do, first you and her had to go to the grocery store to stock up on food, get more cat food and supplies, stop at the post office for your P.O. Box that was filled with fan mail, and she wanted to get more Lego sets. Those errands took the rest of the day tiring you and her both out.

Day 4 of pride you and her decided to go to a pride parade together, you and her matched outfits with your sexuality flag in the form of a pin on your shirt and Indi did the same. You and her walked hand in hand to where the parade was going to be held and you both started walking with the parade. You met some of her fans that was there and they was so sweet to you it was adorable, you and her walked with the parade until 7pm then y’all went home.

When you and her settled down y’all decided to watch a new wlw movie series that she found when you was in the shower. You guys are on part 3 of the series which was good so far, you and her was actually liking the series so far except for the parts where you wanted something to happen and the complete opposite happened. At midnight you and Indi sat in the bed reading the books that you checked out from the library until you two got tired then went to sleep cuddling each other.

I had this weird dream last night that I for some reason was gonna write a heartstopper fanfiction. But I never wrote it in the dream, no no. I just ”planned it”, by like drawing super much fanart and imagining scenes.

What was the plot of this fic? I do not know. It was kind of ”a series of random events”.

I recall it was starring Tara and Darcy. They were in a woodscraft class when Darcy found a lizard. All of a sudden she had a super small baby carrier on her chest, small enough to fit a lizard. So she put the lizard in there.

They were then gonna go home together, I do not know if they were heading to Tara or Darcy’s house, but one of their houses. And when they arrived, they walked into an entire room filled with dolls.

And this ”room filled of dolls” scene apparently inspired several people I mentioned it to to make art of the scene? Literally did not even write the fic, just mentioned ”Tara and Darcy go into a room filled with dolls” and people made art. One of them was a Tumblr artist I haven’t spoken to for a long time (and whom I don’t even know has read or watched Heartstopper) that tagged me in an artwork they made of this. The other one was my irl friend that I know has neither watched or read Hearstopper that decided she wanted to make art of it too. So I was in her ?? room ?? and she had not only made that, but completely other scenes that I am not even sure was related to this heartstopper fic?? She had made a whole scene with woodscraft figures as ”audience members” that she had also painted faces and bodies to, and several woodscraft figures that looked like penises, but that she also had painted people on. In the middle there was this ”Willy Wonka meeting the kids outside the factory” scene with a cartoon man wearing a hat cut out on a stage with random kids following along. So I am not sure if this even was heartstopper related or if I had mentioned my fic idea and she went ”now I’m inspired to make a scene from Charlie and the chocolate factory!”. By the way, my friend would never do an elaborate artwork like this so this was kind of ooc for her. Except the penis shaped woodscraft figures. She would do that.

Anyway the dream ended with me about to draw the ”Tara and Darcy in the doll room” scene myself and going ”wait does Darcy have glasses??? No she doesn’t… or does she?”

I have to be pretty vague about this, but I have to at least bring it up. A lot of upcoming Netflix shows and movies are out there. This includes episodes of a certain animated series based on a MOBA, a bunch of anime, and a mostly complete spinoff movie of a very popular cartoon that is, from what I have heard, far better than the last spinoff movie that was also leaked a long time ago. Netflix has said they are getting to the bottom of this.
