Jonathan Joss, best known for his role as John Redcorn in King of the Hill, has been fatally shot and killed in a homophobic hate crime on the first day of pride month. [edit: as @corythesaxon has pointed out to me, he was also murdered during Indigenous History Month.]

Jonathan is a Comanche and White Mountain Apache man, he is a gay man, and he is a beloved Indigenous brother. Jonathan’s murder was avoidable. Tristan, Jonathan’s husband, reported that many times over they reported experiences of homophobic threats and abuse to the police, who did nothing.

let this be your reminder that Pride was and still IS a riot, and the police do not care. Jonathan was murdered in cold blood before his husband’s eyes because the cops didn’t care enough to do ANYTHING about the violence these men were subjected to, and that negligence ended in Jonathan’s death. only then did the cops do a fucking thing.

I get how it's not actually paradoxical or surprising but it's eternally hilarious to me when the same people who say "But they're your FAMILY! Pearl and Gem have a tradition where whenever Pride Month starts, they prank call homophobes about "The Gay Agenda". It started out when the two of them got together and Gem wanted to yell at a homophobe she encountered on her way back to their server, so she pranked them with Pearl watching and laughing. They do this prank also to the countless of men who give them their numbers whenever one goes out without the other, just so they can be like "I'm gay." The other hermits are aware of this, with Xisuma tending to have to cover for the two of them whenever people call back angry. Will they stop? No.

What's most impressive is when they have people genuinely interested, as if they can simply become part of it by signing up. So they like to argue what they're really doing is a community service.

Xisuma is less inclined to agree, but knows there is no chance of stopping them.
