Post-BotFA victory feast, Al is emboldened by recieving a handsome dwarf king’s affection and decides they’re gonna go big or go home. Al decides they’re gonna impress the hell out of him by chugging some of the dwarf grog that everyone’s passing out.
Al has been the token sober member (read: designated driver) of the company, and this is their first alcoholic beverage of any kind in Middle-earth.
Al had the biggest hangover in the entire kingdom and was barfing for like two hours the next morning.
There is a reason Al never went to parties before Middle-earth.

Lord Of The Rings!au!!!!
Adam- an elf born in Rivendell, but was lost when Orcs attacked his parents.
He was raised by dwarfs, so he's a beefy elf that uses axes instead of bows. Growing up, he's been an outcast to his tribe of dwarfs, and whenever he visits the elves, he's an outcast there, to.
One day, on a trip to Rivendell, he meets Angel, who instantly has the hots for Adam. They tried a relationship, but they both decided they'd be better suited as friends.
Eventually, they join a group of adventures that get hired for different things.
-
In Hobbiton, is Lucifer. A toymaker who enjoys the peaceful life of carving, creating and raising his little daughter, Charlie.
But that all changes when Alastor, a human ranger, knocks on his door. In forming him that his brother, Michael, is working for Sauron, and they need his help to break through to his brother.
Unfortunately for Lucifer, Alastor won't tell him anymore details until the rest of his group show up.
As more and more people turn up, Lucifer is getting incredibly frustrated. Not only are they damaging his hobbit hole, their also keeping his daughter up past her bedtime. Not that Charlie minds.
But one last knock at the door makes Alastor roll his eyes.
Alastor: Angel, deer. You really need to remind that man to arrive on time. This is very unprofessional.
Angel: What can I say, Al? Adam likes to hang out at the bars a bit longer than us~.
Alastor: Good lord... Mr Magne, would you mind?
Lucifer grumpled and went to open the door. He was in complete awe as a tall man steps through. He's wearing heavy dwarven armor, but he's most definitely not a dwarf.
Adam: Yo, is this...
The man pulls out a strip of paper: Lucy Furr's place?
Lucifer: Uh- oh- that's "Lucifer-"
Angel: Addy! Get your ass in here!
Lucifer jumped out of the way as Adam dropped his weapons and made his way over to Angel.
Adam: Hey, cunt!
Alastor: Adam. Language, please. Mr Magne, have a seat, we'll discuss the details.
Lucifer eventually made his way back to the dining room. He was a little shocked to see Charlie crawling all over Adam and laughing. But thankfully, the tallest being Lucifer had ever seen- and most intimidating - was laughing along with his daughter.
Lucifer: S-So-.
Alastor: We are employed by Lord Elrond. Michael Magne, nt he name of Sauron, has stolen his ring. Vilya, the ring of Sapphire.
Lucifer: Wait- one of the Three Rings?
Husk: The very same.
Alastor: It's our job to get it back before it's tainted by Lord Sauron. This is where you come in.
Lucifer: Me? How?
Angel: Michael's your brother, right? You Hobbits are meant to be close, yeah?
Lucifer: That's... slightly racist. But... yes. If there's anyone that could get through to him, it would be me.
Adam: And who's going to be looking after his adorable nugget?
Charlie laughed as Adam lifted her up and bounced her, making her squeal.
Lucifer: Oh- uh- Charlie- sweetie, you should get ready for bed-.
Charlie: No!
Adam: Ha! I like this one.
Lucifer glared at the man before turning to Alastor: Is there a contract or something?
Alastor smiled: Oh, of course~.
Dude YES!!
-
Alastor pulled out the contract and Lucifer looked it over. Every detail was there and everything seemed to be in order.
Charlie: Can I see??
Lucifer: Sweetie, no, look when do we have to leave? Where is he?
Alastor: That's the thing we have to go looking for him and we need to leave in the morning.
Lucifer looked at him: Tomorrow morning?
Alastor: Yes, this is an urgent matter.
Charlie: Can I come daddy!?
Lucifer sighed and rubbed his temples, he can't do anything if he has to worry about his sweet Charlie too.
Lucifer: No sweetie, you're gonna stay with your uncle Gabe.
Charlie: Awww..... He does high ponytails! They touch the sky!
Adam smiled: Oh do they? Say uh, Lucifer is it?
Lucifer: Yes.
Adam: Why doesn't her mom take her?
Lucifer: ..... Well, I think it's ill advised to leave children at a cemetery.
Adam thinned his lips, he didn't know the woman was dead. But that meant the cute little Hobbit was single? Good to know.
Adam: Sorry, I didn't-
Lucifer: It's fine don't worry about it. Now you, come here.
He took Charlie from him and she squealed with laughter as he walked towards her bedroom.
Charlie: But I don't wanna go to bed!
Lucifer: And I want to be 5'9 but that's not happening either.
Honestly, only being 5'1, or if he's wearing his good shoes 5'3 is such a fucking scam. He's the shortest fucking Hobbit and he hates it.
Lucifer placed her on her bed: I'll tuck you in in a little bit okay?
Charlie: Will you read to me?
Lucifer smiled: Of course.
He gave her a kiss and handed her a stuffed animal so she could relax. He went back out and sighed.
Lucifer: Okay Al, where would we even start to look?

Hello again ✨
I’m so glad to see more and more eldritch au lore drop, and I have some question, that hopefully haven’t been asked already
Has any human (or hobbit/dwatf) ever walked under an elf’s layers out of curiosity? How did that go?
Are they soft twig-like all over? Do they have hearts, or more of a wooden core type thing? If they are hurt, do they bleed? And do hobbits sunbathe for energy if they’re flower-like?
I could ask and ask, but I’ll start with these ahah <3
Heyo!! :D Feel free to ask any and all questions! I love answering them, and it also gives me opportunities to expand the eldritch lore hahaa
I don't think any human has gone under an Elf's layers, since that's technically their clothing and it'd be pretty rude, like with other humans XD I think a Dwarf or Hobbit could end up there by accident since they're so short; there'd be a lot of apologizing after! But I doubt they'd be able to see what's underneath the layers since it'd be pretty dark with all that cloth and stuff hahaa
Hmm I'd say the eldritch Elves have hearts of a sort! Likely a fleshy interior with some form of organs, though I haven't settled on this yet XD If they're hurt, I'd imagine they bleed sap from the wound!
Ooh I can imagine the Hobbits sunbathing for an energy boost, but it probably isn't something they think about too much since the Shire seems to have good weather most of the time, so they can just sunbathe on their daily walks or while working in the fields XD
Thanks for the ask! This was lots of fun to think about <333

Animorphs, Lord of the Rings AU
So, the two of these have a similar theme and approach to war, and I was struck by just how easy it is to work out a reasonable cross between them. So,
Cassandra Baggins (Cassie to everyone, she needs another 20 years to pull off Cassandra) is a hobbit. Specifically, she's from a branch of the family that breeds ponies near the western edge of the Shire. And when an injured elf, Fangor, collapsed at the edge of their field, pushed a ring into her hand with a "I took this from a group of goblins. Get it to Rivendell", and turned to face the rider on a black horse that had just emerged from the woods, well...Cassie mounted up and took off. Fortunately, she headed through the Shire, and fortunately most Shirefolk were willing to help a child of merely 30 in clear distress with whatever she needed, so she made it out the other side with supplies, a new pony, and a Shire full of people who helped delay or discourage the strange rider chasing her.
Unfortunately, she definitely heard what the Black Rider did to the elf as she ran.
The details of her flight from the Shire to Rivendell are too extensive to get into, but she arrived alongside a Human Ranger of uncertain parentage, Tobias, who disliked people but was an expert in the wilderness. They were both mounted on fine black horses, though she refused to talk about what happened to the pony she had been on when leaving the Shire.
Alloran, Lord of Rivendell, immediately called a council upon seeing the ring. When the council ended, the Fellowship of the Ring would be guided by Gandalf and included Cassie as Ringbearer, Tobias, Fangor's brother Aximili, a dwarf named Marco, David Took(who was visiting Rivendell as a merchant's son and didn't want to be left out), and three humans, Rachel, Jacob, and Thomas.
Rachel was the eldest child of the Steward of Gondor, here as a diplomat. She volunteered her bodyguards(her cousins) to protect Cassie on her journey. When they objected to leaving her unguarded, Rachel simply declared that she would accompany Cassie and her guards were forced to accompany her. (the guards were sent with her originally to push back against her impulsive nature, but that failed wholly by Moria when she got ahold of a dwarven axe.)
The split party of course happens when Tom is corrupted by the Ring and Rachel kills him to save Cassie. They take off to Mordor together, while a grieving Jake decides to do something clever and pretend that David, their sole remaining Hobbit, is the ringbearer. This is great short-term and has many problems when it encounters David's actual personality.
From there, I would actually be writing this fic, so no. But other thoughts:
Erek could be Gandalf, but I prefer making him Tom Bombadil. He's roughly that useful. I think the Wizards just need to stay Wizards, and let Ellimist/Crayak be the larger powers. Hork Bajir of course map to Orcs well, and I'd love to introduce an Orc rebellion later on.
I considered having David and Cassie flee the Shire together but it was too hard to imagine him surviving that, and Cassie wouldn't be willing to leave him behind. Instead, he gets to be the fake ringbearer later, and it's practical Marco who decides to leave David exposed during a losing battle. The Ringwraiths grab him and take him to Mordor, and without their leadership, the orcs fall apart. David saved hundreds of lives and got to be the hero he wanted to be, not that he had a choice in the matter. Marco lives a very long time with that decision.
Both series do a very good job of "war is horrible and bloody. It changes you and not for the better", so we can keep a lot of that.
Ending, Rachel cedes her power and moves to the Shire with Cassie. This gets her out of major politics and into small-town politics, which she prefers, and there's no pressure to be quiet and demure when you're twice the height of everyone else already. Jake officially takes over as Steward, as the eldest male of the family, but never marries. Rules very well, driven to perfection by his broken heart. Tobias marries Jordan, thus merging the rightful king of Gondor's line with that of the Steward, and their eldest takes the Steward role.
Huh, this got away from me. It was originally a bulleted list. Well, enjoy, and do whatever with this you want.

Promise braids
Tumblr media
Warnings: legolas (yes he is a warning), use of Y/n, touching someone without consent, reader is half elf half human, also this is my first fic ever so sorry it'll be shite <3
Pairings: legolas X F!reader
Au where Gandalf goes to Rohan alone and tells the three besties to go someplace safe until he can meet them again.
I've always liked the idea that the braids in elves hair are promises made to them so that's what's happening in this.
You heard a knock coming from the door. Walking towards it you called out,
"who is it?"
"it's me Legolas, me and my companions need a place to sleep tonight," he replied.
"how many of you are there?" You asked whilst opening the door.
"Only three," answered a dwarf to legolas's left. You stepped aside and gestured for them to enter.
Once everyone had entered and the door was firmly locked, legolas took you aside. "We are being hunted, we need a safe place to stay. With someone we trust."
"who's chasing you?"
"Orc's but we will be gone before they arrive," he took your hand in his. "You need not worry about us, about me."
"but what about the town, if the orcs think you are here they will burn this place to the ground and me with it." You pointed out.
"well you would come with us, you shalln't go all the way with us to Isengard but-"
"To Isengard? Your going to Isengard? Why?," You cut him off.
"I can't tell you my love, all I can say is that we need your help."
"and you know I would do anything for you, and yet you still refuse to stay by my side for long."
"I promise you this is the last quest the last adventure before I am yours."
You sighed, "Would they like to eat?" You gestured a thumb towards the ranger, and the dwarf who were now talking of hobbits and wizards you didn't know.
"yes, we haven't eaten in a week." Legolas looked ashamed.
"this must be an important quest my love." You kissed his cheek before walking of to your pantry and gathering foods enough for three meals.
When you returned your guests were sitting at the table patiently waiting. Gently you placed hams, cheeses and fruits in front of them, before fetching plates, cutlery and 2 glasses filled with wine.
"If anything is not to your tastes please tell me." You said before fetching a pint of ale for the dwarf. Who beamed upon your generosity.
Once your guests were eating they told you tales of orcs and hobbits, until all the food had gone and you showed them to rooms.
"master dwarf you can sleep here tonight, the lavatory is the door across from yours in the hall and through that door," you pointed to a door inside the room, "is master rangers room."
"please call me Gimli," requested the dwarf shaking your hand.
"of course, sleep well Gimli." You said before closing the door.
"master ranger this is-"
"Aragorn," he said before slipping inside the room and closing the door.
"well that's that then," you said before taking legolas's hand and entering your own bedroom.
"Are you sure it is wise for us to share? I do not wish the others to find out about us," he asked as you took of your dress and tucked yourself under the duvet.
"well then by all means sleep on the floor, but I do not have anymore rooms," upon hearing that he undressed and slipped under the covers to join you.
When dawn came you awoke to legolas sleeping peacefully beside you. And not very hushed whispers coming from down the hall.
"It is not impolite to awaken first Gimli."
"Aye but it is rude to wander someone else's home whilst they sleep," you decided to go and see what all the fuss was about. Sitting up you swung your legs over the side of the bed and felt a soft hand glide down your side.
"Where do you think your going?" Murmered a sleepy legolas. As he trailed kisses up your back.
"to go and help my guests." You slipped out of bed and pulled on the same dress as yesterday. "Should I expect you to get up?" You asked kissing his forehead.
"yeah, give me a moment," he pulled the duvet off of him, and you left him to dress.
Walking into your front room you saw Aragorn and Gimli sitting across from eachother.
"would you two care for breakfast?" You asked already making your way to the kitchen.
"yes please," Gimli emphasized the please and Aragorn rolled his eyes.
You pulled out four bowls and filled them with porridge and honey topped with toasted acorns. Putting them down infront of the two you then sat on the right of Gimli. And you all began to eat.
"You know legolas never told us your name," commented Aragorn matter of factly.
"My name is Y/n," you told them and Gimli smiled.
"a beautiful name for a beautiful woman," he grinned at you.
"The dwarf is right it truly suits you," added Aragorn. You were about to reply when Legolas entered the room, now Fully clothed.
Silently he took his seat next to Aragorn and started eating.
"I'm going into the market today," you announced. "You are welcome to come with me or stay here."
"we need to go into the town's library, if you'll take is to it?" Aragorn said.
"of course, but may I ask why?" you asked.
"to meet a friend of ours." Answered Aragorn simply.
"will you be leaving after that? Or will I have the pleasure of your company for longer."
"we don't know, although I suspect we shall take our leave," you nodded before taking all the empty bowls and bringing them into the kitchen and beginning to wash them along with the plates from last night.
You were just finishing cleaning the last plate when you dropped it and it shattered against the hard floor.
"oh, bastard," you swore as a shard tore into your ankle just bow the hem if your skirt.
Holding onto the wall for support you got off the stool you had been sitting on , picking up the shards of porcelain you binned them and placed your foot upon the stool.
Carefully sweeping your hair out of your eyes you assessed the wound.
Biting your lip you yanked on the small peice of porcelain and it sliced across your skin enlarging the cut to almost triple the size.
You cried out at the sharp needles of pain traveling through your nerves.
Suddenly legolas, Aragorn and Gimli were in the room.
"sorry I saw a bee," you lied quickly dropping your skirt so it hid the blood pouring out of the gash.
Legolas grabbed your ankle and tugged the skirt up to your knee watching as the blood dribbled down your foot and dripped onto the floor "quite a nasty bee," he said making eye contact.
"I cut myself on a bit of broken plate," you couldn't lie with him looking at you like a puppy denied attention.
"you will be the death of me Y/n, wheres your first aid kit?" He shook his head resigningly.
"top shelf on the left." Aragorn Hurriedly lifted it down and handed it to legolas.
"well we'll just be through here then," said Gimli then he and Aragorn left.
"you must be more careful my love," legolas scolded, "had you been sitting on the floor it could have been your eye," legolas gestures to a shard of plate left stuck in the wall next to where your shoulder had been.
"you say it like I dropped the thing on purpose," you rolled your eyes.
"No I am merely concerned," legolas wrapped a bandage around the wound after putting a weird ointment on it. "Make sure you change this regularly or the wound may get infected."
"why would I do that when I have you to do it for me," you scrunched your nose in amusement. But he didn't seem to find it funny. As you turned back to the shelf and lifted the kit back up to it you felt strong hands on your waist slowly trailing up and down your sides. Then you felt his hot breath on your neck.
"you should really listen to me you know," he kissed your neck. "Because one day I'll stop repeatedly telling you, and you will have no idea what to do with yourself."
"well I manage just fine when your not here, which is pretty much always."
You could feel your blood boiling, he was never here but when he was he always had something to scold you about.
"I'm here now," he kissed the spot just under your ear before taking your earlobe into his mouth and sucking on it gently.
Your blood was filled with a new kind of fire as legolas left your ear to suck a mark into your neck.
"Legolas," you gasped, your voice barely audible. But he heard and spun you round in his arms.
"yes my love?" He whispered.
"not here," you were surprised you could talk, as your thoughts were lost in his eyes which were blown dark with lust, his pupils almost ingulfing his entire iris.
Legolas left a quick kiss on your lips before he left rejoining the others.
Breathing heavily you took a few moments to gather your thoughts back together before following him.
"So this is the market?" Said Gimli.
"yup this is it," you gestured to the many stalls and shops laid out in front of you. "I just need to buy a few things before we go to the library."
"well then what are we waiting for," said Aragorn. As he tried to enter the mass of people.
"Wait do you all have money?" You stopped him.
"no why?" He answered.
"take this," you handed all three a small bag of money, "I wouldn't want you to be mistaken for theaves. Plus the more money you have on you the more you will be respected, so try not to spend it all."
"I shall not spend a single penny," said Gimli before he disappeared into the crowd, swiftly followed by Aragorn.
"Well in we go," you muttered before moving towards a small stall selling rings. Pretending you didn't know legolas was still by your side you examined one of the many rings. It was a band of muted gold woven round ruby's of the finest origin.
"If this is a hint directed at me, consider it ignored," legolas sighed.
"I was only looking," you tutted but placed the ring back down and moved to the next stall, filled with fabrics and ribbons.
Picking up a roll of white cloth you rubbed the corner between your thumb and forefinger.
"How much?" You asked the kind old woman behind the stall.
"Eight casters deary," smiled the woman sweetly. Silently you handed over the money and placed the fabric in your bag.
Legolas stared you down in this time.
"what did you need that for?" Legolas asked.
"well it's my job, that you would know nothing about because your never here," legolas was about to protest but you shushed him. "I'm a seamstress, I make various garments and such."
You started walking away again when you heard a kerfuffle to your right, turning towards it you saw Gimli running towards you at top speed, pushing people out of the way as he went.
"your right I shouldn't have spent it all," Gimli puffed. Behind him you could see 5 guards running alot faster towards him.
"stand back I'll handle it," you said and pushed him behind you.
The gaurds stopped infront of you.
"is there a problem?" You inquired.
"We suspect that dwarf of theiving," boomed one of the gaurds.
"well did he steal anything?" You quirked an eyebrow.
"No, but he has no money, what would someone without any money be doing in a market if he wasn't theiving," pronounced the gaurd proudly.
"well maybe he has just spent all his money in said market."
"Ah but then he would have something to show for it wouldn't he," said the gaurd before saying in a more menacing tone "are we gonna have a problem pretty lady?" then he leered over you trailing his right hand down your cheek slowly bringing it lower until it rested on your breast, a wicked grin on his face.
You felt legolas move his hand to his sword and Gimli shift into a fighting stance.
"no sir," slowly you turned to Gimli.
"What did you buy with the money?" You asked kindly.
Looking ashamed Gimli looked down.
"I bought myself some more ale," he mumbled.
"see, if you so desire we shall find where he bought the ale, but I wouldn't want to waste your time sir," you tilted your head and stuck your bottom lip out just enough that you wouldn't notice the difference but your lips would look slightly bigger.
"no that shalln't be necessary," he said before leaving, the other gaurds following close behind.
"That was close," you sighed before turning back around.
"Why did you let him touch you," legolas grimaced and Gimli nodded.
"Well if I didn't it would have made things worse."
"I thought we made a deal," Said legolas in elvish as he stepped closer. Your breathe caught in your throat as legolas trailed his finger along the braid neatly woven into your hair.
"legolas," you warned and he stepped back again.
"Legolas," called a voice from the crowd and milliseconds later Aragorn appeared. "Gandalf has arrived."
The two others quickly followed as Aragorn hurried up the library steps and into the vast halls filled with books. With you trailing behind them almost tripping over your long ankle length dress.
When you finally stopped it was to find yourself before a tall old man with long white hair and a beard to match. You ducked behind a bookshelf and listened.
"Gandalf what happened?" Asked Aragorn.
"Saroman had corrupted the king's mind, but worry not all is well," Gandalf smiled. Although you could feel a but coming. "But you three must go and fight at helm's deep."
"where?" Gimli asked.
"it is a fortress north west from here. I assume the people of Rohan have fled there?" Aragorn explained.
"yes and they need some help."
Legolas's hand went to the braid woven on his right. His fingers felt the length of it before he took his hand back down.
"I can't go," he said briskly.
They all looked at him shocked.
"But you have to!" Exclaimed Gandalf.
"You said the fortress was Northwest, well Rohan is southeast, meaning the enemy must pass through here."
"yes well it is but a small town a small sacrifice compared to how many would die if you did not come. You cannot save these people legolas."
"I don't care about the people, but her, no. I shall not leave her, nor will I bring her to die."
"legolas, saroman cares not for these shack's. We need you at helm's deep."
"did I stutter? I won't leave her here."
"Legolas, you would let innocent people die for the sake of one girl?"
"she is not a girl she is my best friend and besides I shall not be missed I am but one archer."
"I thought I was your best friend," muttered Gimli.
"we need all the help we can get," Gandalf boomed, several people turned to look and the librarian did not look amused.
"we cannot talk here, where are you staying?"
The three exchanged looks. Feeling they had noticed your absence you quickly fled, hoping they didn't see you leave.
Rushing down the library steps and into the now deserted side streets, market day could wait.
You dashed down alleyway after alleyway until you found yourself at the stables on the edge of town.
You allowed yourself a moment to catch your breath before you walked past the stables and down to the moorlands.
Looking around you found yourself alone.
Subconsciously your hand shot up to the braids in your hair fiddling with them.
You thought of what legolas had said. He wasn't leaving you. Not this time.
Walking around the last outskirts of town you saw your own house sitting with its neighbours next to the main road.
Slipping inside through the backdoor you were greeted with the sounds of frantic arguing.
You gulped, they had beat you back.
"where is she?"
"she's probably still at the market."
"I swear she was just behind us."
"arguing won't find her."
"Y/ns smart she'll know we're here."
"but how will we know where she is."
"maybe she's still at the market."
"we searched the market 3 times she's not there."
Stepping into your main room you spoke up making sure you were heard. "wow three whole times and yet you still failed to look else where,"
"Y/n!" Legolas jumped up and rushed to you stopping just short he squeezed your shoulder in his left hand. "Thank god your safe, we were worried."
Suddenly Gimli poked your side hard.
"Ow," you exclaimed.
"that's for makin us worried, and this," Gimli hugged you tight. "Is fer coming back,"
"it is good to see you too, I'm afraid I walked the long way back so-"
"The long way," scoffed Aragorn, "you took 2 hours," Then he stood and walked over to you and patting your back. "You scared us, don't do it again."
"I'll try not to," you smiled. Before the same man as before cleared his throat. "who's this?" You asked.
"I am Gandalf."
"I assume you are the person they went to meet?"
"yes I am and the four of us must leave within the hour," legolas swiveled around his grip on your shoulder tightening.
"Gandalf!" He warned.
"you two should pack your things," Gandalf ignored legolas. Gimli nodded, then he and Aragorn left.
"Gandalf I have told you once I will not go with you," legolas let go of your shoulder and took a step towards Gandalf.
"and I told you hundreds will die if you stay."
"may they rest in peace," legolas spat.
"legolas," you gasped. Horrified at his words. Both of them turned to you. "If people will die you must go."
"if I go you will die," legolas tried to reason.
"that is no excuse I am but one person if hundreds will die you must go!" You were astonished that he could even consider this matter.
"no I won't leave you, not again," he said sternly.
"legolas!" You exclaimed.
"No Y/n," legolas raised his voise and you stopped arguing. "I love you to much, if I leave and you die I will never Ever forgive myself, especially if I could have done something about it," legolas tucked one of your braids behind your ear.
"then let me go with you," you nagged.
"I shall never leed you to your death like that."
"I'm not asking I'm telling, take me or leave me just pick one, but you must go," you said exasperatedly.
"I thought you wanted me to stay?"
"I do my love but not-" slowly he bent down and captured your lips in his own. Softly curving his mouth across yours. You melted into him, before recoiling in disgust.
When he saw your expression he frowned.
"don't ever try to manipulate me like that again." With that you turned on your heal and marched into your bedroom fuming.
"wait Y/n!" He called after you.
"I don't want to hear it!" You mumbled through the tears coursing down your cheeks .
Half an hour had past and you still lay in your bed trying to delude yourself with possible reasons to why legolas would do that.
When the justling of things had ceased you were met with the quiet discussion of how to say goodbye to you.
Just then your door creeked open and legolas stood in its frame. He took a step into the room and shut the door.
"what do you want?" You asked a fresh tear sliding down your face.
"to apologise, I didn't think and-" he stopped something had cought his eye. He took a step back and slid down against the wall.
"What?" You didn't bother turning your head to look at him properly.
"your braid," you could hear his voice shake with unshared emotions and his eyes fill with unshed tears.
Bringing your hand up to your hair you felt through the crinkles on the left side of your head.
"you broke your promise, I undid the braid. I don't see a problem."
"I didn't mean-"
"but we can make new promises, you can try again." You sat up the hair tie still in your hand. Carefully you sat down in-between his legs facing away from him.
Silently you passed him the hair tie.
"what do you want me to promise to you?"
"your honesty," you murmured. So quietly that had it not been for legolas's elvish sences he would have missed it.
Once he had heard the tears he had been holding back slid from his eyes and he leant his forehead against your shoulder.
You leant back against him so his back was firmly against the wall. Your own tears mixing with his.
"I'm sorry, Y/n, your everything to me. I just didn't want to lose you too," he sobbed into your neck.
"I don't need an explanation," you turned your head and kissed his temple.
"I love you," he said through his tears.

Tlok Lord of the rings au because i'm squishing my hyperfixations together like a crazy lil 5 year old.
Korra- I'd say dwarf... she matches the stereotypical dwarf personality to a T. Notoriously stubborn, loyal and hardy. The most resistant to the corruption of evil as well. Also, controversial opinion... out of the Krew, Korra deserves a beard most. Also. Give her an axe. Or a sledgehammer. Let her wreak havoc. I think her family would come from Khazad-dûm and be directly related to the line of Durin. Though I feel like she'd reside in the Blue Mountains and unlike most of her kin, she'd have an appreciation for water and the sea.
Asami- Elf. Elf. With her glorious hair and agility??? Hell yeah. She'd be descended from the Avari and live in Mirkwood. I think the moral ambiguity and hostility of the Mirkwood elves touches nicely on Asami's original role as a villain. Also coming from such a combative area would have her learning combat as well, if even better, than her canon counterpart.
Also korrasami would be super cute as a dwarf/elf relationship lol. Korra's already canon shortie. And it would replicate their little rivalry in season 1. Just instead of fighting over Mako, they're fighting over centuries of mutual racial animosity.
Bolin and Mako - ok. Im getting real controversial here. Hobbits. Fucking hobbits. Now. Hear me out. More Brandybuck/Took coded hobbits I'd say. Probably grown up in Bree... tiny orphans in a big world. So sad.
Bolin is an easy pick. Although he's pretty big and bulky, his character has a lot in common with typical hobbits. Not a coincidence that my two fave characters are him and Samwise Gamgee... I love my dirt himbos. Bolin has that gentle, cheerful hobbit vibes. And he likes food too lol.
Mako also has hobbit vibes, I'd argue. However he has a lot of that hobbit typical caution ans suspicion towards the outside world. I could see him valuing a home and prosperity...give this man a hobbit hole He's so stressed he deserves it.
Tenzin, Kya and Bumi. - half elves, Rivendel. Tenzin is basically Elrond, ok? Bumi chose humanity good for him. Kai is the scruffy human they adopted à la Aragorn.
Lin and the Beifongs- honestly was stumped at this one... but I kinda think humans, particularly Dúnedain of Arnor. A noble people, now acting as Rangers, protectors of the land... matches Lin, our favourite chief of police, huh?

Also you know I HAVE to ask about LotR Fantasy AU because I am a sucker and that sounds right up my alley, please!
Ok I feel like I have to explain myself on this one because the phrace 'LotR fantasy AU' sounds just Completely bonkers
It's called this because I realised I don't think there's a term for when you take a piece of fiction, put it in an AU, but the AU is the same genre as the original work. And not in a 'oh it's a star wars star trek AU, with the star wars characters in a star treck world' way but in a 'I literaly made up an entire fantasy AU not realy based on another existing work, and ploped the LotR cast in is sims style' way.
I guess it's technicaly just a regular AU, it just happens to be the same genre as the original work.
So that's what spawned this. It's less of a single story and more of a bunch of random worldbuilding but anyways. The Fellowship would still be a thing, just fighting a different (yet to be determined)evil, and with roughly the same background.
The story beggins with a big royal wedding in this worlds equivalent of Erebor. I was thinking about the wedding being Thorin/Bilbo, but tbh that's mostly an excuse to gather everyone neatly in one place. Gandalf is there as a friend of the wedding couple. Frodo is there as Bilbos nephew, and the other hobbits as his friends. Gimli is there as Glóins son. Aragorn is the heir of a human kingdom, with Boromir being his advisor, and thus invited as neighbour royalty. And Legolas is the youngest prince of the neighbour wood elf kingdom, invited for the same reason as Aragorn and Boromir. This is what gathers everyone together and people begin making friends.
I haven't writen much on the wedding but I did pen down how the three hunters met, with Legolas and Aragorn helping a distraught Gimli find his missing nibling. Legolas helps the toddler dwarfling out of a hole they got stuck in, and keeps runing into Gimli throughout the wedding until they end up friends.
“Greetings!” Aragorn said. “Sorry to disturb you, but we are looking for a red haired dwarfling by the name Thóig. You haven’t seen them?” “Oh we’ve seen them alright!” The dwarf closest to them, a dwarrowdam with ebony hair and yellow ribbons in her beard rose to greet them. “The little pebble has made themself a fine home inside this wall, and has gotten stuck to boot!” She brushed off her dress and gestured towards the opening. “We’re both too big to reach him, but maybe you two will have more luck with those long arms.”  “We’ll see about that, the rascal is pretty far in,” the dwarrow with the lamp grumbled.  Aragorn kneeled next to the opening. It ran parallel to the floor, only a couple of feet long and incredibly narrow. He studied it for a moment before looking up at Legolas. “I won’t fit in there. You’re thinner than me and have longer arms.” Legolas was not too happy with the idea of being even more underground than they already were, even when arguing with himself that it’d likely be an easier fit than old gnarly tree roots. But he was hardly one to leave a child in peril so he got on his stomach and looked into the hole. It continued much deeper than the oil lamp managed to light, but a good bit in he could see two dark eyes gleaming like a cats behind a messy nest of fiery hair. He smiled at the child.
Legolas is also the one with the most fleshed out backstory yet(unlike canon lol). His story goes that when his mom was pregnant with him she was attacked by orcs when walking through the forest. She was mortaly wounded, but managed to make it to one of the oldest trees in the forest and begged for her child to be saved. The tree responded by growing around her until she was burried under its roots. A few months later, around when the baby should have been born, the bark cracked open to reveal a little newborn elfling. Thranduil recognised the child as his son and named him Legolas.
It was in the middle of that solstice night, under the never setting midnight sun, that princess Lagoreth and her brother Thondaer would visit their modern tomb. And how fortunate that decision was, for as they stood there the wooden likeness of their mother began to move. The two siblings ran for the palace and their father, bodily dragging him from his throne and into the trees with most of the court on their heels.  Just as they reached the Old Ash a loud CRACK echoed through the woods. The bark of the tomb had split, right down the queen's stomach, still round with the child that would never be born. Or so they had thought! For the bark parted to reveal a small elfling child, sleeping soundly. A boy, with dirt on his nose and leaves stuck in his gold blond hair. And King Thranduil swept the babe into his cloak and his arms, for he recognised his son even as they met for the first time. For with her final breath Lannien had wished for nothing but the safety of her child, and the forest listened. They named the child Legolas, for no other name would have fit him. Legolas Forest-born, Legolas Ash-child, Legolas Greenleaf.
So Legolas is even more strongly connected to the forest than in canon(might have planed to have him get stuck in a cave in at some point. You know. For the angst :3)

lotro guys guest list! i've got a bunch by now so. under a cut:
esterín of the lake (fic) - half-elf runekeeper (well, for game purposes she's an elf since we don't have half-elf as an option yet?) who grew up in loeglond on the long lake. her father aelinil was one of the raft-elves and her mother mikaer was from lake-town. i was near the end of rise of isengard (mid vol3) and she grew a character and that was that lol. greatly enjoys hanging out with the rangers
daedín of lothlórien (fic) - elf hunter. sentinel of lorien (or, background malledhrim #4) like her father. not terribly sociable, nor inclined to get pulled into pc quests right up until she tries to tackle gorothul out a window (bad idea). later gets to do remmorchant :D
isena, daughter of téohere (fic) - human warden. isedd's younger sister. originally from a farm near marton in the westfold, they fled north after a raid and ended up in bree. she would dearly love to pick a fight with someone and is also enamoured with the idea of being a Great Big Hero
isedd, son of téohere (see isena's fic) - human loremaster. isena's older brother. had a latent talent for wild-speech and has made great use of this to make friends with a bear and the world's most professional eagle (matwyn, who's basically an intelligence agent for the great eagles in the vales). decidedly not interested in being a Great Big Hero or even, really, an adventurer
rani sandyhill - hobbit burglar. part of the quickpost! she's from....... i forget if i decided nobottle or tighfield. if i wrote it down idk where i put it. she decided she had to have the load-bearing timeline and show up in everyone else's stories. enjoys causing problems on purpose
sileär seasheen (fic) - high elf mariner (formerly minstrel). telerin, and first crossed the sea unintentionally. spent the first age among cirdan's people, the second roaming, and the third asleep. silmeniel is her wife and halthel is her closest friend. gonna stab ivar
halthel caranial (see sil's fic) - high elf captain. has a few other names, but omaruin is the secondary one most people know. (well. secondary in the sense that he goes by halthel these days. it's one of the older ones) was one of maedhros's soldiers in the first age. spent the first age at himring, the second either traveling with silear or hanging out around lindon, and the third mostly in rivendell. gonna stab ferndur
silmeniel calantiriel (see sil's fic) - high elf minstrel. melassë was what she went by pre-gondolin. calantiriel was a nickname more than anything else. silmeniel was given by silear. she's not an adventurer and has had a turtle rock on since level 15. she sits in rivendell and does scholar crafting <3 (she would be in lorien if i could get her there at this level, but the port is a higher level thing). has too many names she actively uses
glainyn of erebor - dwarf champion. was a guard at ravenhill for a good while, and dis decided she liked him enough (or perhaps wanted someone to talk to enough, when the ravens weren't chatty) to talk at him til he learned about dwarf politics. joined the iron garrison and spent a lot of time trying not to tell everyone else they were being stupid
lendrain of tinnudir (fic) - human warden. dunadan who ran away the night before he was supposed to be sworn in and has spent the intervening years sorta-hiding with the league of the axe up until the nazgul happen. is doing his level best to both have his own full au and be part of the broader est-verse au. goes by len or lenny outside the dunedain

[Dreamling Week Day 2: Dragons] A New Beginning
This is a The Hobbit AU where Dream is Smaug and Hob is Bilbo. I hope you like it! 🖤
CW: angst (grief, depression, suicide ideation) with a happy ending
Dream basks in the morning sunlight, pipe to his lips, looking just like any other hobbit smoking an Old Toby. Unlike other hobbits, however, his pipe-weed remains unlit. He's really just breathing from his dragon lungs and exhaling smoke from his mouth or nostrils.
On the other side of the garden, Hob is patiently teaching Daniel how to water the plants so they receive just the right amount that they need. His low voice and occasional chuckles, as well as Daniel's frustrated little hmph!s and wondrous little ooh!s serve as a balm to Dream's scarred soul.
He has never expected this to be his life.
Only a year ago, he had been a bitter old dragon, done mourning his wife and son for a hundred years but unable to move on. He didn't know what else to do in his life except wait to die in the place where their murderers lived, surrounded by their riches that mean absolutely nothing to him.
The last thing he expected to come into his life was a thief that brought sunshine with him. And the last thing he expected the thief to do was to sit with him and talk about the world outside the mountain.
And the way that Hob, the little hobbit thief, talked about the joys of food, the journey from the Shire to Erebor, the smell of the changing seasons...
Dream had gotten so used to the awful feeling inside him that he never realized he had been starving. Not just for food, but also for stories. For companionship. For someone to look upon his true form and not feel an ounce of fear.
When Hob the hobbit ("Stupid nickname, yes, I know," Hob had said, eyes crinkling in amusement), with his sunny smile and carefree manner, opened his small satchel and offered Dream some nuts and dried fruit from his trail mix because he was worried that Dream was hungry, it was when Dream realized that the creature in front of him was the rarest and most precious gem of all.
Hob barely had to convince Dream to leave, because Dream himself wanted to leave with him. ("Relocate," Hob insisted.) Hob was, perhaps, the only one who could have done such a task without inciting violence of any kind.
Hob walked out of the mountain accompanied by a dragon in the guise of an elf. And while Dream could have transformed himself into a dwarf, a human, or a hobbit, transforming into an elf felt like he was giving a proper farewell to his wife and son, who were elves.
The entire company was angered by the presence of an elf in their home, and some of them even drew their weapons when Hob explained that, "No, he is the dragon, and he's willing to leave."
Dream could have easily reduced the dwarves to ashes, but Hob had placed himself firmly between the dwarves and Dream, with his back turned to Dream. Ready to defend him and drawing his own blade.
Dream could not help but be more enamored of him. Being a dragon means not needing to be protected by anyone. But that this small being would be brave enough to face more than ten dwarves if it comes to it just to protect Dream...
Dream is not stupid enough to let such a treasure go. He made sure Thorin Oakenshield knows the debt he owes to Hob. Made sure Hob was paid fairly for his services right then and there. He reminds them that he is still a dragon, even if he is currently wearing an elven face.
Thankfully, and despite Thorin's early stage gold sickness, the rest of the company is sensible and honorable enough to pay Hob for his service.
Hob went home with Dream, and a wagonful of treasure. They did not leave until Dream himself was satisfied that the payment is indeed just. And one knows never to cheat a dragon.
The return journey was pleasant. Surprisingly so. With Hob for company, it was like Dream was still a young dragonling with fresh eyes to see the world.
Let the dwarves reclaim 'their' mountain that had once been Dream's in the dawn of the world. Let them squabble amongst themselves and politick and Thorin grow mad with gold sickness--it doesn't matter much to Dream anymore.
He has taken the one truly precious thing from the mountain. And no, not the Arkenstone.
The hobbit thief.
"Dada!"
Dream looks to the side where Daniel is holding up a clump of weeds with tiny flower buds. He graciously accepts the bouquet and lets Daniel climb up to his lap and babble while pointing at the clouds.
"I think he's had enough of gardening," Hob says and sits beside him, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Hello, love."
Love.
A thing he has not felt since Calliope and Orpheus. An endearment he has not been called for more than a hundred years. An emotion he had felt growing stronger in his chest ever since Hob came into his life.
Dream, the dragon, living with his new family in the Shire, where there is also neighborhood drama and petty thievery. (No one steals from Hob anymore. Not since Dream reclaimed every single thing that had been stolen from Hob's house while he had been away on his adventure to Erebor, including a wooden button that had belonged to Hob's grandmother.)
Those aside, the Shire is a peaceful, slow-paced kind of place where every day feels like a vacation. There are feasts, and birthday parties, and sometimes Gandalf visits and spoils the hobbit children with a firework show.
(Dream thinks the fireworks are pretty quaint, but follow Hob's instruction to stay quiet about his opinion on the matter.)
But most of all, The Shire is a place where Hob loves to live, where he thrives, and where their family can live and grow in peace, away from all the wars waged by other races against each other.
And so Dream considers this place his home too.
"Hello, Hob," Dream says. He wraps an arm around him, the one holding the still unlit pipe, the one not holding their son and the bouquet of weeds, and gives him a proper kiss on the lips. This morning, Hob tastes of honey on pancakes, and ginger lemon tea. Dream knows he himself taste of fire, but Hob insists that all he tastes is freedom and adventure. Hob is smiling when they part, and is looking at Dream like he still cannot believe he's real. It's flattering. Dream loves his husband so much. "Shall we prepare second breakfast?"
--
Hob does not know it yet, but being mated to Dream would ensure that he (and their children) would live long lives. Dream doesn't think that Hob would hate him for his sudden near-immortality since, between the two of them, Hob is the more enthusiastic one about being alive. Dream is just happy to re-experience life as Hob sees it. They go on to have many adventures in the future, accompanied by their half a dozen children.

Either exiled from their towns or ran away, they came to the castle for shelter & Lenore would let them stay as long as they behaved & helped with the chores. This is how the Misfits came together. Duke, Morella, Pluto, Berenice with Eulalie. Prospero also arrives at some point.
Prospero's either the insane asylum guy or someone in the castle.

Bad Ending:
The Raven sets Lenore free of his control but it kills her in the process. Lenore then is tasked to take care of the wandering orbs for the rest of eternity.
Better Ending:
The Raven sets Lenore free from his control but theres a catch. Lenore has to preside over Nevermore in the place of the Raven & the Deans until another soul takes her place.
Also in this one, Lenore's right eye(same as mourns) turns white.
Fantasy Au:
Nevermore characters have the powers & some looks of their spectres in their human form.(ex, Monty has horns. Duke has a diamond pattern on some parts of his body)
They get more & more like their spectres the more power they use.
If they use too much of that power or become power hungry, they fully turn into their spectres & become lost creatures. Having to preform a very dangerous ritual to turn them back & even at that they look like their spectre only having few human features left.
(Edit: there's much more after I posted this)

stilton my heart is hurting! Do nielan ever get together in the dwarf nmj/elf lxc au? T.T
Yes, and Lan Xichen doesn't die of grief after Nie Mingjue passes away. The conversation where LXC found out about NMJ's feelings went something like this:
Lan Xichen: You...you've been in love with me since we met, and you haven't said anything? We've lost so much time...
Nie Mingjue: Yes. But I know elves can die of grief, and I couldn't bear to be the cause of your death.
Lan Xichen: That's why you didn't tell me??
Nie Mingjue: Can you blame me for valuing your life over the chance to be married to you?
Lan Xichen: Absolutely. If you'd bothered to ask, you'd know that I simply cannot afford to die because my half-human adopted son doesn't have the brains the heavens gave geese. Last year, Jingyi went running off to fight sea-serpents with the Jiangs every time I took my eyes off him. This year, Shufu has him under 24/7 surveillance because he tried to go foraging hobbit-style and made soup out of poisonous mushrooms. I love you dearly, A-Jue, but my child is an idiot and can't survive in the wild without me. You have nothing to be afraid of.

Tonpa is a dwarf.
Some troupe members:
Franklin is obv half orc
And uvogin is half Goliath /ogre
