I feel like a lot of people look over the beginning of Episode 2 because of the whole “A PERMIT???” haha so silly thing, but like-

This is some TOP level projection right here - and it's sad. I mean, this, I feel, is one of the few times we get to see into the mind of a Crowley still reeling from his Fall and, more importantly, God's hand in it. There are a few times we get to hear Crowley's thoughts on what happened when he Fell but none of them really ever reference it in relation to God specifically ("I only ever asked questions", "I never asked to be a demon", "It's Lucifer and the guys!"). It's things God is technically to blame for, but he doesn't really call Her out.

There are a few times he talks about God's hypocrisy and all that, but this is, I think, the first time we see his true feelings on how it felt to be forsaken by God.

The first sentence is particularly intriguing. "You should know why you're about to die." Was this perhaps a speech that Crowley received when he was in Hell? Or, maybe, was it the speech he wished someone would have given him? An explanation for why he suddenly was no longer an angel? Something to comfort him in the wake of God abandoning him?

Either way, I think this speech is very, very telling. I think the Crowley that we see in Season 1 draped over his chair and begging for a sign has softened ever so slightly - but this Crowley? This Crowley is still very much hardened and angry about his fall. Questioning why it happened, why God abandoned him, why She gave him up to be destroyed.

But he can't get those answers.

I keep thinking about euripides' play 'women of troy' and epic the musical. odysseus, planning the trojan horse, leaving the women and children alive, being forced to kill hector's son, seeing helen and feeling a sense of overwhelming... exhaustion. this whole war fought for her, and all helen says is 'the gods made me do it'. and hecabe screams and mourns and pleads for helen to be punished even as she's being taken away as a slave and. odysseus can't help but see penelope in hecabe and helen and andromache and cassandra. and he just. he didn't start this war, he wanted no part in it, but he has prisoners on his ship and now he's going home with them. (they don't make it, of course. none of them do. except odysseus.)

People talking about their dogs and cats being able to coordinate w their owners' morning schedules but honestly I've never had a pet so like TUNED IN to my schedule as my fat rat Butter. I start work at 7:30am (I work from home), so between 7:15 - 7:30am I'm washing up, filling my water bottle, and throwing back my meds for the day. Mind you, I keep my meds at my desk in front of the rats, so Butters is usually working through a simultaneous morning routine that syncs up right when I finish taking meds.

It's time. For morning peanut treat. She knows. She's washed her face. Done her morning pees. Drank her body weight in brita water. Stepped on the babies. She's ready.

Unfortunately for her. The babies have also learned I do morning treats and now Mouse also feels the need to come out for her treat rather than taking it in her sleeping spot. The frantic energy in her eyes, thinking today might be the day that I forget HER treat.

Mouse is the slowest eater, so she gets hers first while I paw the babies off her. Then Smeagol, bc she's lightly unhinged. Then Frodo. Then Butters almost always eats hers in my arms. No matter what time I get up on the weekends, we are on the couch w a peanut treat and blankie scampers within 20 minutes like clockwork. She's been sleeping on my lap for 30 minutes.

There’s something so special about Richie and Bev being karaoke pals okay. I just like to think of them coming up with random routines in Richie’s room and it takes forever but they master them song by song. As adults they just rock karaoke because they’ve been practicing their entire lives and know the songs by freaking heart.
