Sure, there are times he can get side tracked and ask yu to repeat yourself, but he doesn't mean for it. You're almost always capable of keeping his attention and mind off of things that are bothering him, which he appreciates.

You're also rather good at giving advice, considering you've become well at expressing your feelings through the spoken word, you know what to say and how to say it. Kuroko needs reassurance here and there when he doubts himself but you know he's always had the answers he needs inside himself.

You have never had much self-esteem for yourself, you have always been afraid of people's judgment, and well, let's say that the school you attended didn't help you much to open up.

Many of the students walked with their heads high and haughty eyes, while you blushed and lowered your face so that no one could read your thoughts.

Of course, not everyone was like that, you had few close friends, but despite this they didn't really know you either, they only knew you were a kind and silent girl. Sometimes people thought you were cold, but the truth is that you were only afraid to say what you had to say. You feared the words of others, you were afraid of being broken in that poisonous world, so you preferred to keep away from it.

You liked the night. The night made everyone more alone, but for you it was a sweet protection that made all people equal, naked from their facades and hidden in the womb of darkness.

When the sun went down and a single red strip remained on the horizon, it was your favorite moment. The students stopped going around school, and you had the world for yourself.

You went to the greenhouse, and after you checked that there was no living souls in there your shoulders finally relaxed and your breathing became soft and peaceful.

Slowly all your emotions flowed from your mind to your chest, and from there they came out of your lips, in sweet melodies sung by your delicate voice.

Singing made you free, made you fly over everything that scared you, higher than birds and clouds. You could tell the world everything you thought and didn't say during the day.

You were always so involved in your wonderful freedom that you didn't realize that someone in that unsuspecting world was really listening to everything that came out of you.

It had happened by chance that Malleus during one of his lonely walks had heard a voice he had never heard. A voice as beautiful as few.

Curious he had approached you secretly, he had seen you, and for some reason he could not fail to listen to you. The girl who had never spoke was singing about huge things.

He had returned the following evenings, initially out of curiosity, then because it had now become part of his routine: when the sun went down the prince came to you, stood in the darkest corner that was there, where the light would never reach his face, and listened to you without your knowledge.

He had heard you sing melodies without words and popular songs, he had heard you sing all your emotions and also the emotions of the characters of the books you read. He knew that the show was for him alone, and however much he would have liked to keep it possessively for himself, you were a bird that couldn't be kept in a cage, even if you didn't know it.

Usually he went away in his own ways as soon as you sang the last note and you fell into silence; after all he hadn't been invited.

But there was that evening when your singing had particularly touched him. You had managed to move the most hidden strings of his heart, and in his thoughts he had stopped longer, without really seeing what was around him. So when you were about to leave you ran into him. His bright green eyes opened and collided with your frightened ones.

In the dark he was almost invisible, but how had you not noticed him before? He was unmistakable. You knew perfectly well who he was and the respect he enjoyed.

Suddenly you fell back in fear, and pressing your hands to your lips you took a step back, bowing your head embarrassed.

At first he just stayed there, surprised too that he'd been hunted down like that, was he starting to be less responsive huh?

However, seeing you so embarrassed in front of him that for months now he heard your voice every night made him smile. One of his contained but captivating smiles.

"Don't be so scared. If I wanted to eat you, I would have already done so."

His arms crossed over his chest as your eyes swiftly returned to him, now filled with confusion.

"I'm always there at this hour, while you sing ."

By now that the game had started, it was worth playing, and your eyes full of realization somehow pleased him.

Suddenly you realized that someone in the world had really heard you, always. That someone in the world - and not just anyone - had listened to you, and said nothing bad about it.

Malleus had a regal and severe aspect, worthy of who he was, yet at that moment under his luminescent eyes you did not really feel a bad feeling, rather a reverential respect and a certain gratitude to be able to be in his presence in that way. The fear gradually turned into a very small hope. Maybe someone had really started to know you?

"Your voice is beautiful, you should allow other people to appreciate it."

His voice had no particular nuances and once he said those words he turned his back on you, leaving you behind and starting to disappear from your sight.

But wait, did he give you a compliment? Had Malleus Draconia just complimented you? You weren't used to receiving it, you never sang for anyone. Was your voice really pleasant? Had he really listened to you because he liked your music?

"Sir Malleus, wait! "

For once your voice came out instinctive, as powerful as when you sang, and this surprised you a little and embarrassed you.

You made him smile again - "Sir?" -; he turned his head slightly towards you to look at you out of the corner of his eye.

" Will you come again? Will you come tomorrow evening too? "

Despite the blockage you suddenly had in your throat you couldn't help but ask him, and unexpectedly, to hope that he would come back, and listen to you again, and still tell you that he liked it.

Malleus did not hold back a slight, low laugh that echoed in his chest and was barely audible outside. Of course, he was looking forward to hearing you more comfortably than he was used to, it would have been even more pleasant.

"I accept the invitation."

He said to you almost solemnly, before finally returning to the night.

What type of characterisation do u like for fics? I do find that fic from back in the day is mostly 1 dimensional but I was curious what ur issues w it where?

I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to answer this but I’m gonna be real my opinions on stuff like this have led to me being labeled toxic to the point where people have literally implied they want me and people who share similar opinions with me to leave the fandom, so I’ve been kind of hesitant to answer something like this bashing some recent characterization again. So if you’re one of those people I’m sorry and you should probably stop reading now.

opinions under the cut with some lawlight characterization stuff I don’t like + some stuff I do like:

Honestly? I try and read at least the first chapter or so of every new lawlight fic in the tag and recently it’s been impossible for me to enjoy a lot of it because when I read it it just doesn’t feel like L and Light to me at all? Like it feels like someone at some point wrote a big fic with strong characterization and interesting characters, except they weren’t much like L and Light and they acted in ways L and Light wouldn’t act. And a lot of fics now are based off that same characterization, which in turn inspires fics with that characterization, rinse and repeat. And that’s just not enjoyable to me when I’m looking to read lawlight fanfiction.

Obviously old lawlight fanfiction wasn’t all 100% perfect and there were a lot of doozies in that mix too but it felt like there were more really solid multichapter fics that might have been messy and toxic in ways but they made sense with the canon characters. And fics that did have a happy ending and some fluff thrown in were still written using circumstances that could be believable, even if it took a long time or a slow burn to get there.

To answer your question more specifically, here’s some common tropes that feel out of character to me (and I’m not calling out any specific author or saying fics that do any of these things are poorly written because they’re not and we have a lot of talented and dedicated people here):

Either one of them changing their principles and switching sides within the first 20k words and without a LOT of persuading. IMO “we’re two sides of the same coin and not that different despite both being hugely stubborn” is shit I love, “actually I’ve sided with you secretly the whole time/your magical dick has cured me of disagreeing with you/I’m willing to sacrifice the principles I literally died for in canon easily because I want to be with you” is shit I don’t love.

“We suddenly agree and work super well together as partners now that we’re in an AU and there’s no death note” doesn’t feel authentic to me because death note or no death note their entire outlook on the world is different. Light would think L’s methods are disgusting. L would think Light’s initial idealism is naive. Light believes mankind is inherently good and once you get rid of the bad that can shine, L…doesn’t seem to share that. That’s not to say they can never work together but the good shit is when it’s a long journey into understanding each other and where they’re coming from and slowly making compromises and falling in love.

L being a naive uwu tries his best baby who’s being taken advantage of by Light. Light being a misguided uwu baby who tries his best and is being taken advantage of the whole time by L. They’re more complex than that and they’re both bad people but they also both have good sides so any sort of simplification of the characters into one being a villain and one being a victim is uninteresting to me. 

They shouldn’t work but somehow despite everything they do, because they’re alone and because despite disagreeing and being enemies by circumstance and by beliefs, they know without the other they’d never really be challenged or fulfilled. That’s neat. I like that. It’s messy. They’re drawn to each other even as they’re disgusted with each other.

It’s more interesting when they are their own conflict rather than the conflict solely coming from outside sources.

The 500000 fics where Light is a rebellious and progressive omega who actually secretly wants to be protected by L and feels grateful that they’ve found each other? don’t love that. I dislike omega fics in general even if there’s a couple I’ve thought were pretty alright so that doesn’t help either. It is kind of interesting that despite their differences this could be an in-universe reason to force them together. It just seems like omegafic is the lawlight default right now. Like even fics where the plot doesn’t revolve around omegaverse stuff is sometimes omegaverse and that’s ? hard for me to wrap my brain around? that’s not just a lawlight problem though that seems to be happening in a lot of fandoms

Similarly to point one, either of them being okay with losing like lol what. 

yotsuba can be difficult to tackle because there’s so much going on there with the characters, but there’s so many interesting layers to explore and dive into that sometimes get ignored in favor of fluffy hijinks and that’s boring to me. from Light’s perspective L took everything from him and has made his life pretty miserable because of this whole Kira thing and catching the real Kira is the only real thing that could totally clear Light’s name and L just sort of….gives up, for a lot of it. mopes about and acts unmotivated and uninterested because Light isn’t Kira. that’s probably very frustrating for light! and fun wacky fluff or hijinks can happen, but I love when it happens in the “we got so distracted being the smartest people in the room we forgot we’re supposed to be enemies” way because that’s juicy to me

sometimes it’s the little things, too, that bother me. stuff that’ll happen and it’ll completely pull me out of the story. like L Lawliet made Naomi Misora destroy her whole damn computer after he slid into her DMs and you really think there’s any way in hell he’d have any sort of google home or siri or alexa? or casual social media, even under fake names? facebook knows everything. or light saying something or making a joke that i could never in a million years see him saying in canon because the author thought it would be funny or cute. 

anytime Light is suddenly some kind of beacon of goodness champion of justice just because he didn’t find the death note. the death note didn’t make him a completely different person, he’s bitter and jaded and thinks some people would be better off dead even before getting the death note. self righteous yeah totally but actually righteous? nah man

or Light just being a fucking awful person who kidnaps and r*pes L because he lusts after him but it’s okay because somehow in the end they end up together ? i’ve seen that trope a few times and i know it existed in 2007 too i just avoided it like the plague then also. 

I see a lot of AUs that are less “what would L and Light legitimately do if this was the situation or universe they were placed in” and more “i want to write this situation happening like this and i want to make it lawlight because that’s my main ship” 

like, the characters that are being written are fine but if you want to write OCs right OCs. I know all of this seems really harsh which is why I put a warning about it at the beginning, and of course I know some of these problems were also prevalent between 2013-2017 and there’s tropes here that have been happening like this since the dawn of lawlight fanfiction, but since it’s happening now and now is when i’m frustrated by it now is what i’m complaining about, it could be the reason i go back to older fanfiction so much is because i had lower standards back then and it was easier for me to wade through the ones i hated to get to ones i liked and now it’s easy for me to find those again. who knows. Also I agree most fanfiction from 2007-2009 were pretty 1 dimensional. 

And like, fuck me I guess but I actually like the canon characters and I joined the fandom to experience more of them and apparently that makes other people feel unsafe.

I’m not saying people aren’t allowed to express opinions that are different than me or that I Know Better Than Everyone Else or that I don’t like people posting their own headcanons or ideas or things they wish were different about the series, it’s just not my cup of tea and it’s a little frustrating that fanon is mostly all I get in fics now and that people are allowed to express opinions but only if those opinions are “people who stick too close to canon are elitist and should die and are sticks in the mud and need to leave the fandom to stop ruining things for everyone else” because like, we’re people too?

Anyway sorry this veered in a bit of a different direction and I hope I don’t lose followers over this because it’s sad to see people go but I’ve been blogging here for over 5 years and I’m not going to stop anytime soon. - history; so roughly towards the end of 2016 i saw their video just might die and queen, nana had already played me queen before and i really enjoyed the song (bop listen to it plz) and i just loved them from then on, after they announced their disbandment last year ngl it hurt cause i love them

- yugyeom. that’s it. yugyeom is the loml and there’s nothing he does where i won’t love him, focus on me hit somewhere different and i LOVE IT and HIM and of course jaebum cause he’s great too uwu i also love both of jjp and i was so exited for tomorrow, today so that helped too^^

- infinite; so infinite. yeah i’m a HUGE inspirit and i miss hoya, sunggyu, and sungyeol like hell but it’s okay, i adore infinite im not gonna lie (to be fair i adore a lot of groups) and they mean a lot to me, out of my ults i think myungsoo has consistently stayed at the same place since 2016 as my second ultimate bias oof wow, it was also hard to choose between infinite, suju, and shinee like damn

- super junior; so i love suju? i love them more after once again thanks to nana’s persistence after black suit came out even though i was gonna listen to it away, i already loved heechul and leeteuk but dang i really love them and so does nana. but she likes too many groups to just choose one without overthinking it ALOT

- come back again by infinite; okay so this was also a really hard one cause i love nct’s debut as well as ateez and astro but i ended up choosing come back again cause i find my self searching far and wide just to listen to this song (cause it’s not on apple music or spotify)

- baekhyun of exo; exo was my first group i ever got into, and they never cease to amaze me when it comes to their music. they never and i mean NEVER disappoint with their albums and bsides, as to why i chose baekhyun is simple, HIS VOICE SENDS CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE i mean so does jongdae but still

- kyungsoo of exo; i love kyungsoo and his voice and i’m going to miss him beyond belief after he leaves on july 1st :(( but seriously his voice knows no bounds and i can’t help but melt when i hear it

- seola of wjsn; so i’m just saying now i don’t know much about wjsn but this girl. her vocals. yes? after her song with kihyun came out i fell in love with her vocals from then

- sunmi; i love my supportive queen, she’s great and beautiful and i love all of her music, i will never fail to bop to heroine at any time of day just because i love her that much like yes queen

- ten of nct; i don’t think much needs to be said as to why ten is my favorite male dancer. he is beyond anything i’ve ever seen before and has my complete respect for his passion for dancing and it makes me want to be a better dancer just so i can be proud of myself

- yugyeom of got7; oH i WonDer WhY yUgyEoM iS heRE, seriously i love his dancing more than anything and all of his freestyle clips on instragram make me have the utmost love for him beyond what i already have for him

- seulgi of red velvet; i’ve watched her dancing over the years and i’m never not mesmerized by her stage presence and the way she is so detailed with how she moves

- lisa of blackpink; she’s a great dancer and i will never deny that, she’s also a great rapper and her stage presence is great especially when she’s dancing (specifically taki taki)

- changbin of stray kids; okay so i knew from the moment i heard hellevator that this group would be big and man did they not disappoint, changbin has one of the best rapping styles and voices i’ve ever heard in my life, his speed and his lyrics are so amazing and 3racha songs are AMAZING too like wow this man and his power over me

- jooheon of monsta x; not only has joohoney wreaked my bias list but he has absolutely one of the most unique voices i’ve ever heard, his raps are so hard hitting and i can’t ever get over them, his solo work has potential to be soty because of how talented he is

20. Favorite Female Rapper:

- jessi; okay so i actually had a few female rappers in mind by it kept going back to jessi each time, i genuinely love her voice and i LIVE for her roasts like yes, also i love all of her music? like she has great music i 10/10 recommend

- yeeun of clc; i don’t know many female rappers but yeeun has been one of my favorites for awhile now and i love her voice, it’s just so great to see how much she’s improved and i’m so proud

21. Favorite Male Choreography:

- superhuman by nct 127; so honestly this was absolutely the hardest question for me, i love dancing and i love most male choreographies so idk why i came to this decision, actually i do, superhuman is honestly a wonderful dance and i love watching it each and every single time i seen it on my recommended on youtube

- highlight by seventeen; the performance unit has so much power and stage presence that it was so hard no to choose this song, they all have such great and precise movements when they dance and it’s beautiful

- chase me by dreamcatcher; i love this choreography so much? seriously these girls always kill it and i really want them to grow because they really deserve it

- hobgoblin by clc; this was the first female choreography i really really wanted to learn based on the dance other than russian roulette and dumb dumb by red velvet!!

- fire by sik-k; i absolutely LOVE sik-k so naturally i wanted to choose one of his songs so i went though a bunch if my favorite songs of his and settled on fire, it was a very hard choice though cause addict exists and so does iffy but still

- crooked by g-dragon; crooked has always been one of my favorites by GD it just sounds so different and his voice just makes it one of my favorites, middle fingers-up is a close second for GD

24. Favorite Female Solo Song:

- why by taeyeon; idk why i love this song so much but i just do, i also love taeyeon so much like uwu yes, but seriously i really love all of taeyeons solo music as well as snsd

- honey tea by oohyo; honey tea is one of those songs you could listen to in a cafe or on a relaxing walk with your earbuds in just taking in the crisp air. it makes me feel super calm and just in a space where i feel like everything is chill and cool

25. Favorite Non-Kpop Artist:

- luhan; by baby lulu uwu, i’m absolutely a mushy gushy soft mess for that baby, he’s so cute and kinda and his music is just?? great????? what??? i seriously did not even have a second thought about this but some honorable mentions are definitely big time rush, 5sos, kris wu, joji, etc.

Robstar Week 2018 - Day Four

DAY FOUR: TOKYO NIGHTS

“It is most delightful that we are able to visit Tokyo once again,” remarked Starfire as she stepped into the airport, a yawn escaping her mouth. She rubbed at her eyes and if it weren’t for her yawn, the Tamaranean wouldn’t appear tired in the least. She beamed with excitement through her drowse, clinging to Robin’s hand while guiding him toward their baggage claim.

“I remember how much I admired the city the last time we were here,” Starfire continued as she floated beside her boyfriend, hands still locked together. Her feet were asleep and numb, leading her to stumbling insanely when they touched the ground. It was in her best interest to continue flying. “It is a relief we are able to partake in the festivities without worrying about the likes of Uehara Daizo and Brushogun.”

Robin nodded in agreement, his free hand gripping the booklet he had taken with him from Jump City. It contained various English to Japanese phrases that would help him if he miraculously got separated from Starfire. Thanks to the booklet, he’d know enough to get around.

He squeezed her hand. “Just remember to minimize the use of your powers,” the dark-haired teen warned. “Even though we stopped Uehara Daizo and his troops, Tokyo doesn’t see entirely fond to us. Remember what I told you?”

Starfire lowered herself to the ground, stumbling a bit with her footing. She cast around a curious gaze to see if anybody in the airport had noticed—which, they hadn’t, being so consumed in the crowd. The Tamaranean hero brushed aside her ruby locks shyly as she looked at Robin. “Yes; you are under the alias of Richard Grayson and I am Koriand’r.”

“Kori Anders,” Robin repeated, emphasizing the space that split it into a first and last name. “And call me Dick Grayson. It’s another way of saying Richard.”

Kori sighed and trudged on through the airport, weaving effortlessly through the swarm of people that hurried to catch their flight. She tucked another strand of hair aside. “I still do not entirely understand why we must celebrate our anniversary under the cover. We have saved the people of Tokyo! Why must they incriminate us?”

“Because, Sta- Kori,” Dick began, just barely correcting himself in time as they passed by another family, “I don’t think all of them know the real story behind Brushogun and Daizo. They just see us as the bad guys who came in from America and started messing with the police. A lot of them don’t believe Uehara should be in prison; they only see us in the wrong. I don’t want to risk anything while we’re here to celebrate.”

As they neared the baggage claim, Dick continued, “Plus, it gives us a bit of privacy. We’re heroes, sure, but we never get to live the lives of regular teens. Using our real names—that people don’t know—will let us get away with a lot more while on vacation. We can enjoy ourselves without worrying about the mobs of people who know us and love us, or know us and loathe us.”

Kori nodded in agreement, her eyes lighting up as she spotted their bags on the conveyor belt. She dragged Dick along with her to retrieve them, hosting her own hot pink one onto the ground as Dick did the same with his black one.

She kicked it onto its side and pulled at the handle, dragging the luggage on its wheels through the busy airport. Kori glanced back for a trace of Rob- Dick, letting out a relieved breath when she noticed him trailing not far behind her. She slowed her pace so they walked side-by-side.

“Do you recall the last time we were here?” Kori asked suddenly, startling Dick into alertness. She smirked to herself while her eyes affixed onto the carpet. “Besides all of the crime fighting. When we shared that moment on the top of a building watching the sunset?”

Dick smiled at the memory, even if the ending of it wasn’t so happy. He nodded, “I believe I recall that. The sunsets here are beautiful. It’s too bad we were too busy hunting Brushogun to admire one of the sunrises.”

“Well, we are here now,” Kori pointed out with a shrug as they laced their hands together again. “And this time we are not hunting anybody down. May we finally have the fun?”

He leaned over to press a kiss against her cheek, humming thoughtfully. “In a little while,” assured Dick with a small grin. “We need to check into our hotel first. We’re going to be here for a whole week, after all.”

“Oh yes!” Kori exclaimed, her feet detaching from the ground as her joy got the best of her. Dick squeezed her hand a little tighter as a reminder, watching as she instantly plopped back her feet back on the floor. The Tamaranean blushed though continued, “When you surprised me with the tickets, I did not believe that we were going for a whole week! You are usually too busy with the work to take a vacation.”

Dick scoffed, “Am not! I am more than capable of taking a vacation.”

Kori lifted a brow. “Dick, it is a chore to get you out of the Tower to go grocery shopping. You have even prohibited me from going because there could’ve been villains running amuck!”

“That was for your safety,” insisted the black-haired teen as he tugged on his luggage. “There were reports of Johnny Rancid out and I didn’t want you going alone! Who knows what could’ve happened if you ran into him?”

Kori rolled her eyes as they walked out of airport, the glass doors sliding shut behind them. She followed her boyfriend as he searched for the car rental where Cyborg had a reservation put in for them. “I am more than capable of looking out for myself,” she mocked with a smirk, taking note of his irritated glance back at her. “But that was unnecessary! We were lacking the milk for the cereal and-”

“Less English and more Japanese,” Dick teased, smiling at her irritated expression. He got on his tiptoes and pressed a kiss against her lips that seemed to put her at ease. “Please. I can’t find the sign to the car rental.”

Kori rolled her eyes again, though not long after a mischievous smirk made its way upon her lips. “My Japanese has become a touch rusty.” She set her jade eyes on a fine young man walking their way, making sure Dick could see who she gestured to. “Perhaps I should-”

Dick snatched her hand and dragged her past. “Nevermind. I’ll find the car rental myself.”

The rest of the day had breezed by; sad news for the two Titans on vacation. They’d spent their time acting as tourists in Tokyo, watching sumo wrestlers and trying exotic foods. They stopped by a couple of stores and picked up a couple of souvenirs for their fellow Titans back in Jump City as a thank-you for their help in organizing the trip.

Kori laid in the king-sized bed their suite had to offer. With the money that Dick had (which he seemed to acquire out of nowhere, shocking the other Titans), they were able to afford the finest hotel in Tokyo, as well as dine at the finest restaurants.

But the Titans were curious as to where this kind of money was whenever they needed it, though Dick insisted he knew a little somebody in Gotham who helped him out. Legally, of course! He’d never accept stolen money.

“Exhausted,” Kori breathed out as she nuzzled against the pillows. “I am utterly exhausted. The festivities we participated in were most enjoyable, if not equally tiring. Though I believe what I am feeling is the plane-lagging-ness.” She let out a yawn.

“You mean jetlag,” Dick corrected gently.

He smiled as he tugged on an old black shirt that he planned to sleep in. He tugged at the covers gently, urging Kori to float up and allow him to pull over his body. The black-haired teen patted at the free spot beside him, inviting the Tamaranean to join him.

Kori glanced at the lamp with a sigh. “You have left the light on for me to get. Again.”

Dick snickered under his breath, watching as Kori floated over to the switch and gave it a gentle flick. He opened up the covers and waited until she buried herself in them before speaking.

“Sorry, babe,” he began with a half-yawn, “but that’s your punishment for making me eat raw octopus earlier at dinner. It was still squirming!”

Kori rolled her eyes as she snuggled into Dick’s side, turning so that she was the little spoon. Even if it was slightly uncomfortable—as Kori was typically the big spoon—she still let out a quiet hum of pleasure. “That was nothing compared to the freshness of meals on Tamaran. It was delicious, either way. The sushi was glorious! As were the wrestlers of sumo and the mini markets we have purchased the souvenirs at.”

The Tamaranean let out a breath, her shoulders sinking as she did so. “Tokyo is indeed glorious, though I believe I find myself to be enjoying it more the second time around. We are doing everything we did not have the time to do on our first trip. It is… relaxing to be here with you. Exploring the streets of Tokyo, as well as the mini markets…” she trailed off with another yawn, her lips twisting into a slight frown. “Though, I do feel a bit of the homesickness.”

Dick tightened his grip around her reassuringly. His eyes were closed though he was listening to her as she rambled on drowsily. “There’s no need to feel homesick, Kori. Enjoy your time here because the next time we go on vacation won’t be for a long while. It was hard enough to convince myself to take a week-long break from watching over Jump.”

“As I have said before, you are utterly consumed with your work.”

“I prefer the word determined.”

Kori clicked her tongue, shaking her head only slightly as her locks tickled at Dick’s arms. “You are silly,” she remarked in a teasing tone, twisting in her position to press a kiss against his cheek. “A… what is the word? Ah, a workaholic, though silly. Have I said that I am beyond excited that we are here in Tokyo? Just you and I?”

Dick nodded with a confirming hum. “Many times, babe.”

“Well, I will say it again.” She blinked open her eyes, turning to stare at Robin, batting her lashes. “I am beyond excited to be accompanying you in Tokyo without the crime fighting. Even if I feel the slightest bit of the homesickness, you are my reminder that wherever I may be, I am home when I am with you.”

Dick leaned forward and pressed their lips together for a brief moment before he withdrew. He pressed his forehead against hers and felt the corners of his lips turn upwards into a smile. Dick squeezed her sides gently though reassuringly, letting out a breath.

“You’re my home, too, Kori.”

Grossest memory: dont read if u dont like insects particularly maggots. when i was younger our apartment was quite dirty and trashy which makes no fucking sense to me now because we had the money to get into a better house but whatever. anyways, i hopped onto one of our computer chairs and right where i put my hand, there was a maggot and that definitely scarred me for years it was nasty. there was a lot of that. idk maggots could be found hanging from the ceiling and that has given me my terror of maggots. are they even maggots? i know they’re moth larvae, nto sure if maggot is the right word for it
