Tumgik
#I go off on way more asides with Izuku but that’s less because of a mindset I’m trying to build and more because it’s my silly fun story. I
Just finished reading Pez Dispenser Debris (I don’t even go there but I am fueled by Wiki articles and a love for your storytelling) and first of all—amazing!!! 10/10, I think I need to watch this series now.
Second, I  noticed that (while very much distinct) Yuuta & Izuku have a lot of similarities in the voice you gave them—maybe it’s the constant panic attacks or perhaps both of  them placing blame for everything squarely on their own shoulders, but ough it makes for the perfect blend of gut-punching angst. I’d love to hear any ramblings you currently have about either of them. I am currently obsessed with both of them now and am placing the blame on you <3
I’m gonna pretty heavily discuss some spoilers for my hero academia in this. I figured that was okay since you’d already read my fanfic and the wiki so the cat is out of the metaphorical bag. That being said, maybe wait to read this answer if you want to not be spoiled for more details in my hero.
Yuuta and Izuku absolutely have the most similar voices out of all of my narrators and it is 90% because they are both completely insane and in violent need of a Xanax and a nice soothing cup of chamomile tea. God I love them both so much. They should each be heavily medicated.
My hero academia is a pretty great watch through the Shie Hassaikai arc. The concept is entertaining, the characters are GREAT, and the world building is really cool.
Then the story sort of. Went to shit.
I tried for a while after that, but eventually had to stop watching. My friends and I have a group chat named “horikoshi just call us” because we got so despondent at the writing decisions after that arc.
Horikoshi. If you’re out there. If you’re reading this. Just call us. We just want to help.
That being said, my love for the characters maintains its death grip on me. I simply adore them. They’re delights.
Yuuta and Izuku, on their face, have a lot of similarities as protagonists. The aforementioned insanity and need of Xanax, of course, but the skeleton of the stories has a lot of common touchstones and themes, like:
Both characters have some kind of history with suicidal ideation or tendencies. In the second scene of JJK0, it’s established that Yuuta canonically tried to kill himself. In the first episode of BNHA, Izuku is told to kill himself by his bullies, in an act which appears to be common to izuku’s life, and the only reason Izuku comes up with to not do it is “then you’d get in trouble for telling me to do it.”
Both characters have severe self worth issues. Yuuta’s looking for a reason to be alive at the start of JJK0. He’s looking for a right to be alive. In a way, Izuku is too at the start of BNHA. At the open of action, he is told by everyone in his life that he is useless. His nickname is “Deku,” which uses some of the same kanji as “Dekunobo,” meaning blockhead. The most direct translation were given is that this is a way of calling him useless. He’s the powerless member of a society choked with superpower, and he’s been told his entire life that he can do nothing, that his dreams are pointless, and that he’s a burden who would be better off dead.
They’re both saddled with power they can’t fully control. Yuuta with Rika, and Izuku with One for All, a transferable power that’s too strong to be contained in his body.
They both have a close relationship with an impossibly strong mentor that they are implied to be the successor of. Yuuta with Gojo, as he’s second only to Gojo in the modern age, and Izuku with All Might (aka Toshinori Yaga), who he is more literally taking on the mantle of One for All from.
They both are chugging that Loving Their Friends Juice and have tried to kill grown men with their bare hands as a result
That all being said, they could not be more different characters and honestly aren’t all that similar.
I have this sort of lasting grievance with literary analysis when people take a list of common plot points or events and use them to make the argument that characters are similar or parallel one another. Like, that’s all facial. The real question is how do they substantively handle those events. How do their story arcs treat those things? How does their character react to them?
Yuuta and Izuku’s actual substantive characters don’t really react to those events in the same way at all. The analysis could go on all day in this respect, really, but the biggest difference is how their respective story arcs treat the cornerstone of their original conflicts.
Yuuta opens action with Rika as the cornerstone of his conflict. She’s who he wants to free, she’s who he’s chained to, and it’s her protection of him that makes him think he deserves to die. Izuku’s cornerstone, meanwhile, is his own Quirklessness. He desperately wants to be a hero, and everyone in his life tells him he can’t be because he is Quirkless. He’s useless because he’s Quirkless. He should kill himself because he’s Quirkless. He’s a burden and always will be because he’s Quirkless.
And while Yuuta’s arc reconciles him with his cornerstone, Izuku’s forgoes it entirely.
The story just. Forgets. That he’s Quirkless. They stop talking about it. It never comes up again. It doesn’t make any real big impact on his character or decisions. It’s one of my biggest axes to grind with how the story developed, and it’s actually one of the biggest reasons why I wrote pez dispenser debris.
Pez dispenser debris was actually inspired by this one piece of my hero academia art where Izuku is hugging his younger self. I don’t know if it was official art or fan art, and I have no idea where it is or where to find it because by god have I tried so I can find it and link it for credit/to boost it. I saw it literally years ago, thought “oh that’s cool,” wrote the original first scene of the fic (where Midoriya stops the bus and is hit by the Quirk), wasn’t feeling it, got distracted by other projects, went to law school, graduated law school, signed up to take the bar exam, and was suddenly electrified in the last fucking month of studying with this fugue state of feverish artistic inspiration. I have never written so easily or so compulsively in my life. I’d write for eight unbroken hours and it would be fucking magic every time. It was like an addiction. I was writhing with a need to create and had so much fucking anxiety about the test I was not studying for instead. The words could not be restrained.
Anyway I taught myself three subjects on the plane ride to the state I was taking it in and passed anyway so it’s fine we’re fine
The moral of the story is that this story has been cooking long enough for me to get two more diplomas than I had when I started it and I have no idea where to find that fucking piece of art that inspired it, but if I find it, I’ll reblog it so y’all can see it too.
The thing is, the narrative sort of forcibly excluding Izuku’s past as Quirkless would make total sense to me if it was used as something Izuku himself was doing.
Izuku necessarily had to hide the truth of his former Quirkless status at the start of action—he needed to keep the secret of One for All. Like, he could not let people find out that a Quirk was transferrable, but you know, just the most powerful one, and also he had it, please come torture it out of him.
But as the narrative goes on, that rationale becomes less important. He has people he can trust with it. And yeah, eventually One for All becomes more known, but the discussion is all about him being all might’s successor. Him being Quirkless and how that affected him and still affects him isn’t really discussed or treated as important. And Izuku doesn’t act like it’s important to him either. He never really thinks about it.
And I just hated that. Like. He spent almost his entire life as a member of society who was spit on. He’s had a Quirk for less than a year. How are his experiences with Quirklessness not important to how he interacts with the world?
The other point of contention I had was Mirio.
Mirio is this superstar of a senpai who takes Izuku under his wing. He has an extremely powerful quirk that’s only as effective as it is because he put in the work and learned how to handle it. He’s a perfect, eternally smiling paragon of heroism. He’s flagged early as the one out of everyone, including heroes with established careers, who is most likely to replace All Might.
He’s also the one who was supposed to get One for All.
His mentor had found him and trained him to be All Might’s successor. Before All Might could meet him, however, he found this feral raccoon child in a sewer and said “oh my god I can’t not offer him incomprehensible power within the first three hours of meeting him” and tripped face first into fatherhood.
During a rescue mission, Mirio loses his Quirk in a way that’s borderline irreversible. There’s no known cure, and the only possible one is dependent on a little girl learning how to control an extremely volatile and dangerous quirk and using it in a way she never has before.
So surely, they’re going to commit to that writing decision, right? He’s Quirkless. We’re bringing back having Quirkless characters. It’s going to be this sick as hell juxtaposition between Izuku and Mirio. We are at least going to force Izuku to reflect on his own times as Quirkless or have some kind of discussion about how Mirio is treated differently now that he is Quirkless.
But no. He gets his Quirk back by the next season. We don’t talk about it much. It’s more of a minor inconvenience than anything.
It’s almost as if the show accepted as an actual rule that you couldn’t be a hero without a Quirk. And then just. Forgot. Everything it had to do with its literal protagonist.
Anyway, I hated it.
In contrast, I fucking loved how yuuta’s storyline with Rika ends. That scene where Yuuta’s turning back to Rika, thanking her for loving him, telling him they can die together? I’m obsessed with it. I recently moved across the country and listened to that theme song on loop during the drive.
Yuuta and Rika’s love was unhealthy. They hurt each other. But it wasn’t malicious.
They just didn’t know how to love each other in a way that didn’t hurt.
They were in shit circumstances. But the love was there.
Yuuta felt guilty for Rika’s love for him and his for her almost the entire narrative. He thought he cursed her with his love. He wanted to kill himself because of how she hurt people out of love for him. It’s why I have moments in sea glass gardens where Yuuta talks about begging Rika to stop loving him—he didn’t know why love had to hurt so goddamn bad, and he’s sorry for that, he really is. He wishes he was better at it than he was.
At the end of JJK0, Yuuta truly is the last person who remembers Rika as she was and still loves her for who she is. He’s faced with Geto, who wants to use her as a weapon. Everyone treats her as a threat or a tool, except for Yuuta.
Like. Just that moment. Of loving someone so genuinely, and being the last one who does, and knowing that everyone else will just use them. I’m obsessed with it.
Yuuta reconciles with his love for Rika and her love for him, and they’re both finally freed. It’s this perfect moment of acceptance that I adore. He comes to terms with his past. It doesn’t hurt him so much anymore.
I wrote pez dispenser debris to sort of force Izuku to have that kind of reconciliation. As it is, he hasn’t reconciled with his own Quirklessness and how that affected him. I wanted to give him something he couldn’t physically escape and had to face.
#tw canon typical discussion of suicide#tw suicide#tw suicide baiting#pez dispenser debris#sea glass gardens#from a narrative voice perspective you are so so right#I tend to change my writing style a bit depending on who I’m writing#and Yuuta and Izuku I use VERY SIMILAR STYLES WITH#to the point where I reuse a lot of sentences between the two stories#I do shift my writing a bit#with Yuuta I tend to use shorter simpler sentences and have a lot of ‘distance’ in the sentences#I use a lot of ‘Yuuta thinks’ and ‘Yuuta feels’ when normally I would just cut to what he actually thinks and feels#like those are a lot of fucking words that aren’t the point. they’re dead weight in the sentence. most of the time they’re unnecessary#but I /want/ there to be that distance between the start of the sentence and the point because it gives more of a detached feel to the#writing and I think of Yuuta as a very detached narrator. he spent most of his life isolated and traumatised. the distance protects him.#he’s got space between him and the rest of the world.#I go off on way more asides with Izuku but that’s less because of a mindset I’m trying to build and more because it’s my silly fun story. I#wanted to write it ‘badly’ and break rules. I wanted the silly asides that have no affect on the story but existed in my head. I don’t let#myself do the same in sea glass gardens.#pez dispenser debris isn’t abandoned by the way I’m just burning myself out on sea glass gardens before I go back to it. I have to take#periodic breaks with stories and I’m trying to get through this one arc before I take one with sgg. that arcs the entire reason why I wrote#sgg to begin with actually. I have a LOT of stories that I /love/ that I never post because I know I only have so much time and there won’t#enough to finish them all. a story has to have something I really want to do for me to actually post it. sgg wouldn’t have made the cut if#it weren’t for this one arc that I found so damn funny that I decided to write the entire thing for the sake of one scene in it. it’s not#that I don’t like sgg to be clear. I love it. it’s just one of my much softer stories?#it doesn’t have a big climactic or intricate narrative. it’s softer and about healing.#its less narratively dynamic and more introspective and probably wouldnt have made the cut were it not for one scene ngl#ill probably finish toy rosaries next once i do that arc like im so close

BnHA Chapter 409: Bro I’m Straight Up Having a Good Time
Previously on BnHA: AFO murdered his brother like the mischievous knave he is. Bruce was all, “hey Kudou don’t look now but I think Yoichi might have given you his secret quirk that we didn’t know he had.” Kudou was all, “damn that’s wild, it almost feels like this is a pivotal moment that will change all our destinies forever, you’d think Horikoshi would have spent just a little more time elaborating on this but I GUESS NOT.” Back in the present day, AFO was all, “I’m just going to use all my quirks at once because fuck this kid,” and Katsuki was all, “lol oh shit.”
Today on BnHA: Kacchan is all, “okay, I know I should be hopelessly outclassed, but hear me out: what if I just win anyway. What if I just go ahead and blow his shit up, because this is the final battle, and this is what all of my character development has been building up to since day one. What if I just beat him, because I’m the guy who wins. Simple as that. What if I just kick his ass with my one quirk, and prove all the haters wrong.” Horikoshi is all, “okay, sure.” AFO is all, “wait, wha -- ”
oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my g
Tumblr media
huh. well I wasn’t expecting to start tearing up less than two panels into this chapter but HERE WE ARE
I love that he’s screaming and crying with his balled up little fist right from the get go lol. he was born a pissed off baby
he’s so squishy
and so tiny!!!!?!?! !?!??!?!
and he was RAISED WITH LOVE. fucking thank you, lol. gonna print that out and frame it on my wall. turn it into a flashing neon sign to give me comfort any time I stumble across stray Mitsuki discourse lol
anyway. oh my goodness. if this is a sign of things to come, there’s a very strong possibility this chapter may destroy me. how exciting!!
yep. yep yep yep. this is for sure going to be the chapter that finally does me in. it’s been a great ride folks
Tumblr media
you better not be thinking any thoughts about dying, young man. this had better be meant in the sense of “because I’ll be by your side supporting you instead”, as opposed to “because I will be a little pile of dust in about three seconds’ time oh shit”
(ETA: after finishing the rest of the chapter, I’m pretty sure it’s the former! the first flashback is a reference to his chapter 120 speech -- “even higher than you, Chosen One.” the second is a throwback to chapter 247, when he told Endeavor he only had his one quirk, but it was strong enough to do anything he wanted to do. and the third flashback is one he also had at Jakku when he sacrificed himself to push Izuku out of the way.
so to me, this reads like (1) a reminder of his determination to surpass Izuku and become the strongest hero; (2) foreshadowing for him defeating AFO with Explosion, the Little Quirk That Could; and (3) a reminder of his “origin.” that last one being important because nowadays it’s just as strong of a motivator as his original goal. back at the beginning of the series, all he cared about was being the strongest. now, though, he’s not just fighting for himself; he’s also fighting to atone, and he’s learned to put himself aside if necessary.
as for the dialogue, this reads like a continuation of his mental conversation with Izuku that he began in chapter 362 (“gotta win... right, Izuku?” “so, Izuku... can I still catch up to you?”), and then continued in chapter 406 (“for some reason, I feel like I could overtake you now”). so in that context, “I’ll no longer get in your way” basically means that he’s done chasing Izuku, and that he’s caught up now and can hold his own. his determination to get stronger hasn’t wavered. his confidence in his own quirk and his own skills hasn’t wavered. and his resolve to atone for everything he did to Izuku is as strong as ever. put those all together, and we have the recipe for quite a spectacular redemption fight. his follow-up to chapter 362.
because earlier when he fought Tomura/AFO, he was basically just trying to buy time. no one ever planned or expected him to have to face the Big Bad one-on-one; that was supposed to be Izuku’s job. he was only meant to be there as support. and in the end he wasn’t strong enough, and he nearly died. and rather than being able to support Izuku, he ended up being used against him.
but this time is different. he’s no longer the decoy, the distraction. he’s no longer the pebble. he won’t get in Izuku’s way, because this time he’s going to be strong enough to win the fight. he’s going to hold his own, and get the job done.
so yeah. “I won’t get in your way” = “you can depend on me”, basically. because he’s become that guy at last. the guy who shows up in the clutch and wins the day. the hero he always wanted to be. good stuff.)
OH MY GOD
Tumblr media
once again, just really solid hero advice from All Might here. there’s a reason he’s the GOAT
lol but in all seriousness it does tug at my heart to see him shouting so desperately at this kid. especially knowing that he’s presumably feeling the same pride and awe that I am, but with a lot more heart-stopping terror mixed in because unlike me, All Might doesn’t know that Kacchan is actually going to live forever. he narrated chapter 285, All Might, have a little faith
AFO is the extra-est mfer to ever live. but also it really tickles me to think that Kacchan pissed him off THIS much. it’s kind of an honor in a way
of course his plan is to simply just blow AFO up. of fucking COURSE it is. maybe there will be brain cells later on in this chapter, but for now who even needs them lol
OH MY GOD?!?
Tumblr media
DID THIS MOTHERFUCKER JUST BLOW THE FUCK UP FROM THE INSIDE?? am I seeing this right?? DID KACCHAN JUST SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST ALL FOR ONE WITH HIS MIND
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD
Tumblr media
(ETA: shoutout to AFO for being so analytical when I personally would have just been screaming, “OH MY GOD MY FUCKING EYEBALLS AHHHHHHHHHH.”)
THAT’S WHAT I’M SAYING THOUGH!! HIS POWER WASN’T DONE AWAKENING YET, APPARENTLY??
oh no wait it’s even better. this isn’t Awakening at all, this is just Katsuki playing 5D chess
Tumblr media
so he actually did have brain cells the whole time then! Katsuki I sincerely apologize. you somehow had the presence of mind to make a goddamn minefield even in the midst of all of this hullaballoo
AND HE’S HUMBLE TOO LMAO
Tumblr media
it’s true!! I’m people!! please ignore the multitude of times I’ve previously called him a dumbass, including earlier in this very chapter lol
hahahahaha yesssssssss
Tumblr media
this chapter is incredibly validating for a number of reasons. I’m going to attempt to remain calm about it. but I’m enjoying this a lot ngl
oh AFO
Tumblr media
:D :D :D
(ETA: you know what, I actually do have more to say about this. because I’ve lost track of the number of times I’ve debated with people about this very thing, lol. for a while there post-Jakku it was just constant pessimism about Kacchan’s future in the manga. all this stuff about how Katsuki doesn’t have a main villain. Katsuki isn’t important enough. Katsuki is being phased out. Katsuki isn’t strong enough. Katsuki’s done developing. Katsuki’s just a joke character now. Katsuki’s just the damsel in distress. Katsuki’s always going to be second fiddle to Izuku. etc. etc. etc.
and then this chapter -- this whole entire fight, really -- comes along, and it’s just nonstop rebuttals, lol. and it’s not just that he’s proving all the negativity wrong. it’s that he doesn’t even care about any of that. AFO is out here trying to goad him with that same “YOU’RE JUST A SIDE CHARACTER” bait, and in response Katsuki just hits him with a Howitzer and tells him to shut the fuck up. AFO thinks he can get to him by being petty, because AFO still sees him as the bratty kid from the Sports Festival. but the present day Katsuki has long since moved past all of that, and no longer gives a fuck whether or not he shares the spotlight. unlike AFO, who never lost his childish egotism, Katsuki has learned to see outside himself, and the resulting growth has made him a bigger badass than AFO could ever hope to be.)
(۶•̀ᴗ•́)۶
Tumblr media
ouch
HAHAHAHAHA
Tumblr media
bro I’m straight up having a good time. this recap is gonna suck this week because there’s absolutely no commentary I can think of to add other than “I’M REALLY ENJOYING THIS, THIS IS GREAT”
Tumblr media
I want to take this entire chapter and get it tattooed on my face
sorry AFO. this must really suck for you
Tumblr media
lmao. is that all Kacchan. tell him how you really feel
OH MY GOD NO WAY LOL
Tumblr media
so, fun fact, I literally just read chapter 385 last night lmao. most fortunate timing I’ve ever had, holy shit
okay so lemme just add some more thoughts on this one really quick
Hawks deserves all the nice things in the world and I’m so sad I can’t give them to him, but at least he gets this. sweet sassy revenge
I am once again calling everyone’s attention to the fact that AFO continues to be his own undoing. congrats on screwing yourself over bucko
Kacchan’s sleeve ripping up Deku-style is once again making my Plus OFA Theory senses all tingly. it probably is just a coincidence and has nothing to do with OFA, but I can’t unassociate it now, so I’m just gonna sit here and read as much into it as possible
if I had a nickel for every time AFO’s eyes blew up in this chapter, I would have two nickels, and that is way too many fucking nickels jesus christ
ever since he came back from the dead, Kacchan’s been doing this thing where he is just really pretty at all times, even when he is being a gremlin. and honestly it’s taken some getting used to, although I’m not complaining
but like in this panel especially, it just really stands out to me how even his “GRYAHHH I’M GONNA KILL YA!!!” face somehow has this really cool, intense, piercing glare now and he no longer looks like a baby troll when he does this kind of thing lol
OH FUCK YEAH
Tumblr media
୧༼✿ ͡◕ д ◕͡ ༽୨
“THERE’S NO WAY I COULD’VE WON THIS ALONE.” OMG. THAT KACCHAN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT JUST HITS DIFFERENT EVERY DAMN TIME, I SWEAR
he and Hawks basically pulled a “you hold him and I’ll punch” lol. thanks for the assist Hawks
Mitsuki and Masaru being all, “my little baby boy!!” and “HOLY SHIT”, respectively, sent me all the way to the moon lmao
HELLO THERE YOICHI? fancy running into you here. just chilling out over in this montage of people close to Bakugou who are watching him kick ass. did you take a wrong turn, mayhap. you’re not inside of AFO, we know that much. and Deku, much as I’m sure he’d love to have a front row seat to all this, seems to have his hands full dealing with Tomura right now, sadly
so all of that does seem to raise an interesting question, no? where did you come from just now, and why? and when Kacchan says he’s not alone, is there perhaps more truth to that statement than even he knows? or am I once again just reading way too much into this lmao
anyway so yeah! that sure was fun. and with the end of the year approaching and back-to-back two-week chapter breaks coming up, I have a chance to do the funniest thing of all time, and still not manage to catch up, lol. nah but I’m gonna try my best though. pretty sure I should be able to manage

Crush Culture
Bakugo Katsuki x Reader
Masterlist
Tumblr media
This is entirely inspired by the song Crush Culture by Conan Gray.
Figured it would suit Katsuki's view because the moment I was looking for a character to write, Crush Culture came and guess what...Katsuki pops up in my mind.
I know this is has nothing to do with Izuku given that he's all that I see in my mind everyday- ehem. But let us give Katsuki the love he deserves for having a character development.
This is shorter than usual because I was just experimenting with songs to convey it to writing. Getting inspiration from music is fun as hell so don't mind if I do~
Tumblr media
Crush.
Bakugo Katsuki could only scoff at the called label.
The subject of admiring another person aside from himself was irritating. A weakling that isn't deserving of a high praise and look, it should be directed at him. The one and only living person with solid proof of worth.
Everyone else is lesser than an atom compared to him. He's different. He's superior.
No one is a match for him. You can do nothing to be even with someone like him.
But why does this nagging feeling keep piercing his insides like an annoying feather trying to tickle him? His brows would crease into a glare at little things over talks about these silly damn crushes.
Here and there, he hears the gossips of people gushing on a boy or girl they give hearty eyes to and running their mouth like monkeys going crazy over stealing a bag from someone in the zoo. He grits his teeth.
Annoying little piece of shits.
It's pathetic how he sees people stare at their phone after talking about having a stupid dreamy boyfriend or girlfriend, waiting hopelessly for nothing.
How could he find himself in such a situation like that? It's pitiful, he'd rather spend all of his time on himself instead of relying on petty love lies.
He's love proof. Falling for a single person is out of his books.
He pretty much knows how full of himself he is and it's better that way. Caring about what other people think is a waste of time and that certainly won't push him to fall into their game of manipulation. People look at him and think how sad and lonely he is for being so bitter and it pisses him off. He doesn't want anything else but for them to drop dead in rejection.
Sympathy his ass, they should watch themselves whine over their worthless crush.
It's makes him want to spill his guts out.
But he made one mistake. Befriending a certain girl, so innocent and strong willed. She was different from those lovesick fools. She saw everyone as a friend and nothing more nothing less. He didn't want to do anything with her but she's clearly not that easy to shrug off.
She was dangerous. Her eyes were dangerous. Those soft looking pupils that was actually directed at him was something that made his walls crumble.
It's like he was captured the moment he looks at it. She got him.
Fucking dammit.
This time, he couldn't decipher it. Is it just a lie or a beautiful lie? Or neither?
It's not that he's liking it. No, not at all. It's a beautiful lie alright, and he won't fall for it. It's full of bullshit and it's a game that he won't lose.
He will make you turn away from him until you find someone else to bother.
Right?
No.
Huh, now that he thinks of it, he's worthy of all the adoration in the world so a mere bug like you should just look at him behind his back. You're just going to be a duckling following before him.
No one's gonna manipulate him into submission.
Yeah, no one.
He won't be drawn to your kind bright eyes with stars that look up to him. Your pure smile won't twitch his own mouth to do the same. Your less annoying voice won't make his day any better. Your melodic laugh won't send his stomach into a frenzy of flutters.
Maybe he is actually going to spill his guts out.
But no. You really should just shut your damn mouth.
Your were loud. So loud and you weren't even rambling like those other extras. You were just...you. In front of him with so much to show and so much to convey. You were telling him something nonverbally.
Your stance alone just makes himself stop on his tracks of going ahead of you. You were just behind him and he plans it should always go like that.
Naturally, he fails to overestimate his own ability to resist. One moment, he finds himself pursuing a person he planned to rule out.
He thought you were too loud for just existing with him.
So by shutting you up with a kiss, he became true to his feelings.
Stupid crush.

Random BNHA Analysis (Again)
Tumblr media
Hiii, so since yesterday I went on a whole 30 min long analysis after my first post. So today I'm going to be ranting about....buhbumdadaaaa
Katsuki Bakugo's Mentality! 🤯
It's long, but analysis usually is, so, oh well! Don't read if it's a problem for ya! 😜🤪
If you like this, check out my BakuDeku analysis!
💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
From the beginning his brain is warped into thinking he's the best. Those with Quirks on top, Quirkless the bottom.
Him? He's above them all.
He was taught that from the beginning.
"Your Quirk is so amazing."
"Your Quirk is the best."
Constantly getting those statements before you can even explore the world with this Quirk... Leads to a type of brainwashing.
So now as a child he has a superiority complex, due to society.
But then there's someone who breaks this molded ideal.
Izuku.
See, Bakugo is taught that people without Quirks are less than. Yet this little boy is brave and saves people despite not possessing one.
This makes Bakugo get angry because he contradicts what he's been taught, yet deep down he admires him for it.
In his mind he feels like he has to remind Izuku of his place. "I'm just helping you, maybe you got lost, this is where you're supposed to be. That's what I learned."
Izuku never stayed in that place, he always hoped for more. And when someone is brainwashed, it really ticks them off if someone breaks the mold they learned.
And when Izuku actually had the guts to stand up to him, it was past just the hopefulness. It probably scared him a little. "That's not what you're supposed to do!"
When you're brainwashed, something contradicting what you've been taught can be scary. Because then it makes you question what's really true.
I feel like the icing on the cake was the Hero versus Villains lesson.
First, the one who he thought was weaker than him stood a chance against him and WON.
This contradicts that people without Quirks are weak, especially considering Izuku had one now.
So in his mind, he probably thought he was tricking him. And if anything, mentally reassured him and disappointed him.
Assurance because, "Okay, now you're not contradicting what I've been taught."
But deep down, "I admired you because you didn't have a Quirk and did what you did, but you have one you've been hiding the whole time?"
Then also because of his superiority complex, "How dare you think you can trick me? You think you're better than me?"
But all this time something else has been building, and it cements itself in his brain when he sees Shoto's skill.
Bakugo gets a reality check when he sees that someone is stronger than him. And it scares him.
It's the start of his inferiority complex.
So now he starts to feel inferior, and tries to find ways to still prove to himself that he's the best.
The Sports Fest was about proving to himself that he was still good enough, not everyone else.
But when his win wasn't because he actually won, but because Shoto fell unconscious... He wasn't assured. If anything, it made his inferiority complex worse.
Then comes his internship. He was chosen because Best Jeanist wanted his personality to be corrected, his appearance.
Usually people fawned over his Quirk, but B.J. kind of brushed it aside.
"Yeah, you're Quirk's good. You know how to use it, but your personality sucks."
And this made him defensive, cause time and time again he'd been getting comments about his personality. And this is another contradiction, because he'd been raised this way. This is his normal. But there are people telling him it was wrong. Which makes him question things.
He also gets upset because he felt like he didn't learn anything to help his Quirk grow...
Not even realizing how much this would help him later. Which is why Jeanist became special to him after, too.
But back to that later.
Exams.
That also made his inferiority complex worse. It wasn't an easy win and he had to count on Izuku of all people.
This made him feel inferior to even him.
He was relentless and didn't want to give up because he didn't want to let himself down and feel like he's less than.
But he fell unconscious and needed Izuku to help him win.
I feel like because of that, he didn't want to be seen by anybody. So he avoided the class shopping trip.
Then I Island happened, again, he felt like he got to prove himself a little.
And after, camp.
The kidnapping.
Which was a lot more traumatizing to him than he let on.
His inferiority complex really hit him in the chest when he was the only one who got kidnapped. (After people already recognized him everywhere for the Sludge Villain incident where he was helpless ((which was also more traumatizing than he let on)).)
The only one people thought would go to the villain side.
And All Might stepping down from number one after saving him.
He was probably already beginning to blame himself, but what cemented the feeling, I think, was his mother's words.
"It's your fault. All this trouble is your fault."
Because that's what he says to Izuku when he confesses how he feels.
"It's my fault."
He sits in the blame he feels like everyone has on him.
Then once it's confirmed that Izuku gained the Quirk from All Might, his admiration is back.
And slowly, in this time, he realizes what Best Jeanist's point was.
Not everything is about Quirks, he needs to work on who he is.
So he starts working on his personality slowly outside the spotlight in season 4 (anime). Then it shows in Season 5 (anime) when he works with his team much better than before.
Season 6 (anime) he finally apologized to Izuku, which he had to grow past his pride to do.
And as time went by throughout the series, he desired to be Izuku's friend, like it should have been. He just had to learn to jump over the wall society put around the two of them. To learn that it was okay to be friends with someone Quirkless. To learn that there was more to people than their Quirks to define them and what they'll do.
He had to break from the mold.
And Izuku was a piece of that puzzle, as well as Eijiro, who opened him up to feeling equal with other people. Having people he could feel equal to. Having those he could appreciate even if they weren't at his level in terms of power. Someone real, who wasn't only his friend because of his Quirk. But really wanted to get to know HIM.
He's continuing to grow.
Just jumping in to save someone without thought? And Izuku at that? He wouldn't have done that months back.
If you think about it, his development has been the most teenager like.
But I think his pattern of development was different and made sense. He needed to learn how to focus on himself more than growing his already powerful Quirk because it was all that mattered to him.
And needed to learn how to love himself genuinely and love others.
Everyone else majorly needs to develop their Quirks, so outside of it being society's focus, that's where they need to grow the most.
Katsuki, on the other hand, is strong in what he can do with his Quirk. Just...not his identity outside of what he was told and molded to.
And how much he's grown so quickly shows that he probably already had a desire to, but didn't realize.
And even though he's fictional, as someone who loves to see people real or not grow...
I'm SO proud of him.
I can't wait to see how else he develops.

Halloween Date With The MHA Boys' + Their Favorite Candies
Happy (early) Halloween ! I wanted to push this out for you guys now since I won't have time tomorrow.
Hope you all enjoy this sweet Halloween treat !
(Oh and btw, be prepared for the favorite candy sections to be a little on the...punny side >.<)
Tumblr media
Izuku Midoriya:
Tumblr media
Would undoubtedly wanna go trick or treating with you like the dorky adorable little broccoli boy he is.
Aside from also being a child at heart, your answer is obviously yes because let's be honest…
Who's gonna say no to free candy???
You make it a date and decide to get ready at his apartment, deciding to go out a little later when there are less children around and more people that are around your age.
You both decided on wearing complimentary costumes because #couplegoals. Angel and devil, police officer and inmate, doctor and nurse. You get the picture. But the costumes don’t hide everything, and you still get asked for autographs by a few very perceptive children. You and Izuku don’t mind in the slightest though, as it only adds to the fun.
Admiring all the Halloween displays and decorations with a collection of selfies in front of the best ones. His favorite consists of you and him in front of a giant, orange, glowing cat that's in the shape of a pumpkin.
You find out that a lot of older couples live in his neighborhood and you both get endless compliments about how cute you both are together and it leaves Izuku a stuttering mess while you laugh and give them your thanks.
Oh and he holds your hand the ENTIRE time, swinging it back and forth, only taking breaks when the walkway to the houses are too narrow for you both to walk through.
Will hold your candy bucket for you when it gets too heavy. Because he will make sure you guys hit EVERY house.
“Izuku?”
“Yes Y/N?”
“My feet hurt.”
That’s literally all you have to say before this boy lifts you up and carries you back to his apartment where it's candy and cuddles for the rest of the night. And though Halloween was over, you didn’t miss Izuku mumbling in his sleep about what kind of costumes you would both dress up in next year.
Izuku's Favorite Candies: Nerds, Sweet Tarts, Cry Babies (lol), Pez (especially the ones with the All Might themed dispensers), Sugar Babies, and Life Savers.
Bakugou Katsuki:
Tumblr media
Despite being such a hothead, Bakugou can actually find it in himself to enjoy Halloween.
During the day, he has fun scaring the living shit out of his classmates with spooky masks, regardless of how much backlash he gets. He gets you a few times as well, but it's obvious he goes a bit easier on you because you’re, and he quotes, “One of the few people he can actually tolerate.”
He had invited you over that night to spend the evening with him so you thought maybe you were gonna go to a Halloween party or some spooky graveyard…
But when you got to his house, the last thing you were expecting was to see a mountain of scary and Halloween themed movies piled high on the coffee table in his living room, along with a bowl of popcorn, soda, a selection of candy, and Bakugou with a shit eating Jack-o-Lantern grin on face.
“Are we…gonna watch all of these?”
‘Well duh. Why? You got something else to do?”
Shocked you were indeed, but the excitement was overflowing.
It was hard to pick which movie to watch first since he had such an extensive collection, but you both decided to kick things off with the classic “The Nightmare Before Christmas”.
After that, “Carrie”, “IT”, “Annabelle”, even some of the “Saw” movies.
Name it, and Bakugou had it.
You sat on the sofa between his legs the entire time, bowl of popcorn in your lap, and you silently fed him pieces of the salty snack while he unwrapped and fed you bits of candy.
It was the perfect way to spend Halloween and you wished you could have gone at it all night, but after the 7th film, you had promptly knocked out against Bakugou’s chest, popcorn bowl empty. But instead of waking you up, he merely shut off the T.V and covered both your bodies with a blanket, kissing your forehead.
“Happy Halloween…idiot.”
Bakugou's Favorite Candies: Pop Rocks (cuz little explosions), Starbursts, Blow Pops, Atomic Fireballs, Sour Patch Kids, and WarHeads (he likes to challenge himself with the sour stuff).
Shoto Todoroki:
Tumblr media
Ohhh Shoto…our dear little Shoto…
It doesn’t come as a surprise to you when he comes up to you after school and asks you why the school’s halls and classrooms are decorated with pumpkins and little paper ghosts and black and orange streamers. Why some people are already exchanging candy and telling scary stories at lunch.
You simply smile and say, “It’s Halloween!”
“Oh…”
It’s not that he didn’t know what Hallowen was, he explained to you. He just wasn’t accustomed to it or aware of what occurred during the holiday itself. And with how he grew up, it made sense. So you decided it was time to change that.
You told him to meet you at your apartment at 5, not giving him any more details than that, and when he arrived, you took him by the hand and led him towards one of the best places you could possibly think of to give him a proper introduction to the spookiest night of the year.
The Pumpkin Patch.
Upon arriving, Shoto seemed absolutely awestruck at all the different things there were to do. You hadn’t been at the Pumpkin Patch awhile yourself so it was a super nostalgic feeling, almost like it was your first time there. So you made sure to make the most of it.
The corn maze, hayride, petting zoo (to which you found out that Shoto is a major softie for animals), and of course, pumpkin carving. There was a section of tables laid out for guests to sit at along with a collection of different tools to use, so you helped him pick a pumpkin and gave him his first carving lesson.
It was so cute watching his expressions. How his brow would furrow when he tried removing the guts and how his tongue would poke out when he began working on the face. You almost forgot you had your own pumpkin to carve.
You both finished in a reasonable time and left in the later evening, hand in hand as the stars twinkled above you.
“So what did you think? Did you have fun?”
You were expecting a nod, or a quick little hum.
But he straight whisked you off your feet and into his arms, and the smile on his face was allllll the confirmation you needed.
Shoto's Favorite Candies: Junior Mints, Twizzlers, Hot Tamales, Sno Caps (perfect right?), Raisinets, and Peppermints (literally Shoto if he were a candy)
Eijirou Kirishima:
Tumblr media
It’s obvious to anyone that sharkie boy looooves Halloween.
He’s claimed to you on several occasions that it’s his favorite holiday and that getting the chance to spend it with you only makes it better.
And how does Eijirou spend Halloween? Two words.
Haunted Houses.
“There’s a spot in my neighborhood where people set up all different kinds!” he tells you, “And they take up the whollllllle block. It’s a blast!”
And thus the date was a foot. Because you loved haunted houses too. (A/N: Sorry if you don’t! This was just the first thing that came to mind >.<)
He picked you up that night and away you went, ready to get your scare-factor on.
Now, as much as you loved haunted houses, you weren’t going to lie. They could get a little freaky sometimes.
But leave it to Eijirou to fix that problem right up.
“If you get scared babe, just let me know!” he pointed to himself with a grin, “Afterall, I wouldn’t be much of a man if I can’t protect the person I care about most!”
And you weren’t about to say no to the invitation.
You stuck to him like glue, laughing and screaming through every house you went through, even going through them more than once because of how much fun you were both having.
It was well into the night before you both decided to call it, your throats raw and blood pumping from the adrenaline. But even in your stupor, Eijrou still managed to take your breath away once he brought you back to your apartment, his arms circled around you in a goodbye hug.
“And just think,” he whispered brightly, kissing your cheek, “When we get married and start living together, we can set up our own haunted house!”
You bury your burning face in his neck.
“E-Eiji!”
Eijirou's Favorite Candies: Rock Candy (duh), Jawbreakers, Crunch Bar, Red Vines (ofc he'd like a candy with part of his hero name in it), Rocky Road Bar, and Everlasting Gobstoppers.
Denki Kaminari:
Tumblr media
As far as Denki is concerned, you can’t celebrate Halloween without a good time. And to him, the best way to do that is with a party!
His family throws one every year apparently and he’ll want to invite everyone he knows over to his place for the event, and that includes his ray sunshine.
Hint, hint. That’s you.
“You’ll come right? You have to! Please, Y/N, please!”
He’s so adorably persistent, eyes all puppy dog wide and hands folded. Your answer is obvious, and it had his sending sparks of happiness throughout the cafeteria where you both currently resided..
“D-Denki! Calm down or else you’ll-”
“EHEHEHEHEHEH!!!!!”
Jirou’s laughs echoed in the background and you stifled a groan as you began your trek to the nurses office with your short-circuited boyfriend dangling against your shoulder.
Halloween rolled by over the course of a few days, and upon arriving at Denki's residence, you were completely in awe of the change of scenery.
What was once a normal looking house was now an area that practically screamed ‘Halloween’.
Costumes, decorations, snacks, bowels filled with candy, games, music, even a wooden barrel for bobbing for apples!
The Kaminari family sure took things to the extreme, but nonetheless, it was still loads of fun.
All of your classmates showed up, as well as a few other members of Kaminari’s family from different cities.
So of COURSE, he had to introduce you to everyone.
“This is Y/N,” he would say proudly, “The cutest, most amazing, most wonderful, most beautiful, most talented most-mmph!”
You loved him. You really did. But that didn't stop you from making a mental note for something you never thought you’d need for future reference.
Not only are candy apples delicious, but they work wonders for shutting people up.
Denki's Favorite Candies: Dum Dums (if you know you know), Whatchamacallit, Airheads (again, if you know, you know), Goobers, Laffy Taffy, and Snickers.

I find it odd that how it is normalized to hate Endeavor but not Bakugo.
Don't get me wrong, Endeavor deserves to be hated by readers because he isn't doing all that much to be forgiven by his family and when people learn about his abuse, they don't react accordingly. But at least the majority of the audience points the blatant downplay of abuse and has criticisms for Endeavor's redemption arc. Which is wonderful and should be the expected reaction.
But when it's about Bakugo, why is it so unreasonable to hate his redemption arc? Why do people ask us if we even actually read the manga as if they possessed reading skills superior to ours? Is it because he's a minor and therefore gets a slap on the wrist? I never found Bakugo's character charming or interesting to say the least. I really do want to understand, but the more I see his Stan's brush off the bullying, I go back to disliking him as a character. (I know that there are people who do like Bakugo but still hold him accountable for his bullying, which I'm happy to see). I would go as far to say that the real reason why I begun to dislike Bakugo is the blatant favoritism almost everyone seems to have for him. Before I really began to immerse myself into the fandom, I sort just thought everyone didn't like him. I couldn't be more wrong.
Because from my perspective, abuse and bullying are both horrible things to do. While, bullying is less serious in comparison to abuse, I don't understand how it's easily brushed aside. Maybe other people just don't find bullying that serious of a problem, but I do and I will never not bring it up if someone were to ask me why I don't like Bakugo. I'm not going to forget it just because it happened in the past (chapter 1 as some like to say). Which is incorrect because Bakugo had continued bullying Izuku even after they entered U.A. Before someone tries to bring up how in the first few chapters, Izuku mentions Bakugo stopped bullying him, I think it's necessary to mention that Izuku is an unreliable narrator. Furthermore, bullying does not only include physical bullying, it also includes verbal bullying, which Bakugo still does by yelling at Izuku for the most pettiest reasons. The severity of Bakugo's actions are masked by the fact that these interactions are depicted as gag scenes, which does not make me laugh in the slightest. Imagine the gag scenes were depicted in a serious tone. Would it be funny then? I think not.
Also, I do believe that one of MHA's theme is that past actions have consequences. Which is what Endeavor and Bakugo are supposed to represent. But do you really expect me to be satisfied with this. While Endeavor's abuse is revealed by Dabi, he only faces disgust from their society for little bit of time. It wouldn't have been more effective if Endeavor had been the one to reveal his past, rather than his son forcing him to confront it. But at least the society he lives in knows of his horrible abuse. Bakugou on the other hand apologizes in front of his classmates, whom know nothing of his past and have this misconception that his relationship with Izuku is sour is due to the fact both of cannot make up due to their differences. And the cherry on top is that Izuku doesn't say anything against him. I just can't look at his scene and still take Bakugo Stan's seriously. How could they look at this scene and think that Bakugo's redemption arc is great. Clearly both Bakugo and Endeavor's redemption arcs are horribly written, yet calling out Endeavor's is the only acceptable thing. Wish I could understand why Bakugo is so beloved in this fandom, but it seems that I can't do that.
But, hey, at least found a community in which I can share these thoughts.
I really do think it’s cause he’s a minor and the narrative sympathizes with him. I personally agree with what you’ve said about Endeavor and I feel his story should’ve been done better, but the narrative at least tells you he was wrong to treat his family the way he did. Yeah, there’s some backpedaling, and yeah, the reactions from others are relatively tame compared to what they should be like, but the narrative does tell us that Endeavor was a bad person and now he’s making up for his sins. With Katsuki, after the USJ, they narrative is constantly sucking him off and trying to hammer that he has good traits and that he is “redeeming” himself but his actions show otherwise. When watching something for fun, it’s easy to let the narrative influence your thoughts on the series, but once you take a step back and analyze things, you might notice some inconsistencies. That’s pretty much the case with Katsuki.

What inspired you to write birdcage?
Tumblr media
Mmmm, curiosity? Desire? When I think about it I remember being super upset because there was no DFO fanfic that characterized AFO in the way I wanted him. He was either way too goofy or way too cruel to his own family. Which is fine to read but it just didn't feel... Right, so to speak?
Heck before birdcage, I wrote Isolation and Treasure Vault (And it updated edition) out of anger at reading so many AFO centric fic just being downright CRUEL and awful to Yoichi. And it not the fact he was like that, but more that was like that toward his only family member. That people write like he didn't care about his brother at all that pissed me off.
Like bruh, he could have and would have killed or tossed him aside if didn’t care. This man could not give less of a shit about people if he tried yet Yoichi is the exception. He made excuses, he conversed, he argued, and tried to convince. It clear he cares but in a twisted way and so I took the, fine I’ll do it myself approach.
That how I started writing afo centric stuff which were very much short stories. These were meant to be glimpses but I wasn’t satisfied as there was a similar issue in dad for one fanfic sometimes. Well not similar it more like it didn’t really focus on afo being his dad.
There never a source of conflict with Izuku acknowledging his dad is the worst evil. Nor an exploration of what if was aware how would they interact. What if He did care about his dad instead of just instantly hate him? What if had been spoiled and loved by his father that it causes dissonance when learns who he truly is? How do you love your dad when realize he lacks the empathy to even see things from your perspective? How do you navigate in a world that might judge you if knew who your dad is but doesn’t know you yet? How does being vaulted sheltered from the world effect someone growing up?
As well as AFO perspective on it. How does a man like him justify his own behavior? How does he see the world?
Tumblr media
I will admit there is some self-indulgence when comes to birdcage in that every time AFO spoils Izuku it is my way of trying to soften the poor kids situation. I don't actually want him miserable, neither does AFO tho he worst at handling it and there something comforting in knowing if anything goes wrong your parent would do anything to keep you safe. It just also scary knowing he could end up going too far.
It also a slight comfort as I had issues with an over protective parent who ended up basically crippling me a bit as a person. How they were unaware and unwilling to be flexible to help the child that they believe won't leave them anyway, it wasn't on purpose but a subtle thing they did. This led to me needing to do something a bit extreme so I could find that way to independence.
This story is also a way to explore the feeling of resentment for your insecurities that your parent pushed onto you but also love for your parent knowing they truly do care. What if the parent actually gave you the tools you needed? How do you still find that independence?
So I hope everyone who reads enjoys the story. It is in a sense a coming of age story for Izuku, thus why his connection to his friends, goals and with his own father is all important. And I'm glad I committed to this story.

Chapter 14: Fall From Grace
Tumblr media
Chapter Word Count: 6,700
Relationship: Izuku Midoriya X Female Reader
Previous Chapter: Thirteen
Next Chapter: Fifteen
MASTERLIST
Warnings: violence, drugs, cursing, weaponry
Notes: I actually had to split this chapter into two because the word count got a little out of control😅 so Reader is not mentioned much in this part. She gets her spotlight in the next chapter though!
I know it's taking an eternity to finish this story so for those of you still hanging on, I appreciate you. And as always, please enjoy!
Tumblr media
Bakugo shouldered a heavy punch to the back and twisted on the impact, a growl rising in his throat. Teeth gritted in frustration, he countered a second punch with a swift kick to his attacker's heels. The woman tumbled and he delivered the finishing blow. A satisfying knock upside the head. She definitely wouldn’t be getting up from that one anytime soon.
Sparing a quick breath, he glanced around and spotted a mini tornado full of debris headed straight for him. Tables, dishware, and even a few unconscious heroes had all been caught up in the dust devil that was launched in his path. He took to the air to avoid the whirlwind that knocked aside the surrounding heroes whose mental states had declined to the point that they hadn’t even seen the giant swirling mass behind them.
A few of them crashed into the stage, shaking the plexiglass podium where Toshinori was supposed to be giving his speech later.
Toshinori.
That was another alarming detail he’d yet to solve. The man had disappeared among the chaos and he wasn’t quite sure whether that was a good thing or not yet. The retired hero, who once could’ve easily stopped anyone in his path, was now a liability. He silently prayed that Toshinori had somehow made it clear of this mess and was safely waiting it out where he wouldn't be in the way. But that never was Toshinori's style. It’s another annoying trait that Izuku shared with the old man. But for now, he needed to focus on the problem in front of him.
"Stay down ya drugged-up idiots!" He yelled, breathing labored. His landing was less than stellar and he stumbled a bit to stay upright. More converged on him the moment he landed. "Come on then! I can go all night!"
The sound of crinkling ice reached his ears just before a long jagged spire tried to impale him from behind. He pulled all the strength in his blast to dodge the sharp spear. Shoto was quick and powerful with his ice, which was usually invaluable in the field. Although, in this case, it was more trouble than Bakugo wanted to deal with at the moment.
"There you are." He grinned ferociously, facing the man.
Shoto wavered on his feet, looking almost in an angry trance. None of the heroes seemed to be cognizant enough of what they were doing. Which, in part, was actually a good thing. They were haphazardly using their power with no direction and barely any concentrated strength behind it. The hits that actually managed to land still hurt like a bitch though. Not that he would ever admit to anyone. Ever.
Something struck Shoto in the shoulder and he looked down to find an arrow tip embedded through the flesh. He glanced behind him and pulled on the wire attached to it, dragging Momo right off her feet. She quickly cut the line with a dagger popping out of her hand like magic and rolled back up, swaying almost like a drunkard.
Bakugo inwardly groaned as the two faced off. He knew the drug was altering their mental states. But they were still just as deadly in this state as in any other. Especially two of his…he supposed they were his friends. After all these years, it was still hard to admit the fact so he normally didn’t. But now, after all that shit with Izuku, he had somehow ended up as the emotional support crutch for everyone and that was something he was definitely not used to.
The two exchanged vicious blows that he knew were going to leave marks in the morning. If they all actually managed to survive this. Shoto slipped his foot forward, spreading his ice across the floor, trapping her feet in little glaciers of freezing ice. She fell forward, using her hands at the last second to stop her fall, and glanced at the ice, a snarl spread across her face.
Shoto didn’t give her a chance to counter as his boot smashed straight into her chest. The blow was so rough that even the ice at her feet couldn’t hold her in place and she bounced backward, rolling before she came to a halt on her stomach, breathing hard.
Though Momo, even in her dissociated state, was still clever. She had left three small discs lying at Shoto’s feet. The moment he kicked her, the mini bombs exploded, launching him back into a pillar, cracking the beam in two, and sending the giant marble columns crashing to the ground, nearly flattening a few heroes.
Bakugo smirked before he stepped in, wrenching Momo’s searching hands behind her and using his cuffs to secure her wriggling form. “Damn Momo,” he said glancing over to where Shoto, groaning, was getting back to his feet. “Where was all this vigor when we were sparring last month?”
Once she was secured, he picked her up and placed her off the side, behind a few overturned tables. The safest place he could gauge for the time being. As nonchalantly as he could, he searched her dress where she had stashed the few serums she had made in case any of them were infected. When he looked up, he couldn’t help the frustrated growl that bubbled up from his throat.
It was complete bedlam.
Bakugo spared a quick glance at the cameras mounted around the room, red lights still blinking. The world was watching this mess play out live unless Tsukauchi had been able to cut the public channels. This plan had backfired to a horrifying degree and he was wondering why he agreed to go along with it in the first place.
There wasn’t much time to spare thinking about it as he watched heroes drop left and right, viciously clashing with anyone within range and those iron-coated fears resting in the pit of his stomach had him doubting they would get up again.
Jumping back into the fray, he searched for the angry peppermint among the crowd, though he seemed to have momentarily disappeared. Striking down a younger hero who had decided it was a good idea to charge him head-on, he felt flames slash his back before a pillar of ice encased his right arm. With a bit of firepower, he managed to break the ice and flip back sans his usual grace, flying just over Shoto to launch an assault from above.
Shoto's reaction time was too slow in his current state and didn’t dodge. For the second time that night, he was blasted backward with intense firepower and slammed into a few other squawking heroes. All of them went tumbling in a writhing heap. Bakugo pursued, not wasting his chance to subdue him while he could.
"You better not make me regret this Icy-Hot!" Bakugo hollered, flying straight into him like a missile, landing a solid fiery punch. Shoto gasped and his eyes widened in pain, body stumbling back before Bakugo grabbed the scruff of his neck. "Making me do all the work as usual!" He pulled out a small syringe from his belt and ripped the cap off with his teeth, the other hand in a vice grip around his collar. “Time to get off the crazy train!”
He plunged the needle into Shoto’s neck and the man stiffened, eyes narrowing as he bellowed, ripping the syringe off and tackling Bakugo to the ground. The two wrestled for control. Ice spread down Shoto’s right arm, encasing most of Bakugo’s torso before he slowed, face going slack and eyes rolling into the back of his head. He slipped off Bakugo and would’ve slammed his head into the ground if Bakugo didn’t catch him. With a rare gentleness, he laid Shoto on the floor and crawled to his knees, brushing the crackling ice off his already scruffed-up suit jacket.
Bakugo’s vision went a bit fuzzy as he slowly got to his feet. Wait, it wasn't fuzzy…that was mist. Coming through the vents above the room was a fine white wreath of mist he recognized.
"Dammit Deku!" He growled, scrambling for the mask that was no longer around his neck. It had been shattered by a lucky punch to the mouth a while ago.
Soon the haze grew in intensity and the air stilled as the mess of quirks died down. Though the deranged heroes took little notice, continuing to fight with their fists instead of their power. But Bakugo took a good look around and noticed they seemed slower…weaker. The drug was wearing on them and soon enough it would use up all their strength. He just had to hold out until then. Easy-peasy.
Bakugo struck out his hand to test his own quirk and was met with nothing. "Fuck." He muttered and rolled to his feet.
He was still heavily outnumbered here. Now without this quirk, it would make things even more difficult. Though he would never admit it to anyone but himself.
The hair on the back of his neck tingled and he twisted, narrowly avoiding a sharp punch to the jaw. Ochaco didn’t miss a beat and used her own momentum to wrap her arm around his throat, climbing onto his back and using the counterweight to flip him off his feet.
They both slammed into the ground, Ochaco using her body weight to keep him trapped beneath her. Out of all their friends, Bakugo always enjoyed sparring with her the best. She was probably the best hand-to-hand fighter he knew. Even drugged up, she seemed to retain all her muscle memory. Impressed as he was, he couldn’t let her get the upper hand on him.
She slammed her forearm into his throat, shutting down any attempts at talking. As pointless as he knew it would be, he still had wanted to try for some reason. Ochaco always had a way of doing that to him. She was really the only one he could stand to be around or talk to, or…he was going to stop there.
Gripping her arm, he wrapped his leg around one of her own and pushed his hips to the side. It was a move that ripped her off him and she went sprawling. Before she could recover, he had her pinned down in a reversal this time. Her angry shouts went ignored as he dug around his belt for the next syringe.
“As much as I wanna fight you right now, I’ve got other priorities,” he grumbled, biting off the cap of the syringe and struggling to keep her pinned in place. “But let’s do this again.”
He jabbed the needle into her neck and she gasped. Her hand shot up to grab his collar, fingers scrambling to try to tug him away, but in her current state, she wasn’t able to put up much of a fight.
It seemed the fog cleared from her eyes for a moment, even as they dimmed into unconsciousness. “Katsuki? …what…” Then she went limp.
He let out a heavy breath, staring into her slack face. Her red face was beaded with sweat, her hair slightly disheveled ( what did it matter that he smoothed it back into place?), and he still thought she looked beautiful.
Those unbidden thoughts were interrupted by an awful metallic screech of what sounded like microphone interference and he rose to his feet, standing protectively over Ochaco. The sound echoed around the room so loudly that it stunned the still-brawling heroes around him.
He covered his own ears as the noise crescendoed to a deafening level. The room came to a crashing halt as heroes dropped like stones. Bakugo nearly fell to his knees but through sheer determination and probably an abundance of fury, he stayed standing.
"Well, well, well," a woman's voice boomed over the speakers. "It seems like we have a real party going now. What a show that was!"
Bakugo glanced around suspiciously, wiping a bit of blood from his left ear. The sound reverberated too much to pinpoint where the source was.
"All we need now is the guest of honor. Where did that coward of a hero run off to?"
Now that the fight was over, Bakugo wavered in place, and fatigue rolled through him. He bared his teeth, now onto a whole new fight with his body. Not that he would ever admit it, but fighting that many heroes off alone, was taxing. Though he suspected, this was only the beginning.
The quiet, aside from the tinnitus ringing in his ears, was unsettling. The room was a little too still. Whatever she did, it took everyone out in one fell swoop. That was powerful.
"Oh? No threats?" Where's that fighting spirit hero? Have you lost your tongue?" She laughed over the speakers. "And here I thought you might've had what it takes. I guess I was wrong."
"Oh, you'll get what's coming to ya!" He shouted to the air. "So stop hidin'!"
"If you insist." She sounded smug and didn't that just grate his nerves.
The very air bent in on itself. Ikari appeared like the demon she was. Standing on the stage in her old hero costume, she flashed him an overconfident grin.
He knew to expect her to show up tonight, but still seeing her in that old costume brought back memories of that night she was arrested. Izuku was the key factor in that arrest, but Bakugo had consulted on the case enough to know all the details. What a piece of work.
Stepping forward, Bakugo reflexively smacked his fists together, frowning when that familiar spark didn't flare between his hands. Right. Old habits die hard. Even that movement was enough for his body to protest. He was more exhausted than he realized. Like hell he'd let his weakness show.
"What's the point in fighting something that's already been decided." She said. "Stay down and you might just survive this. I'm not here for you, after all."
He growled, clenching his teeth. "Revenge. What a stupid notion."
"To you perhaps. But this is about more than revenge." Lifting a finger to the ceiling, she cocked her head. "Isn't that right?"
Tumblr media
Izuku had strapped the plastic long gun to his back, a bit awkwardly with the parabolic dish attached to the end, as he made his way up the stairwell. Phantom hot on his tail with his own twin stun guns holstered to his hips. There weren't many weapons inside the stash, and Izuku wasn't too inclined to give him something really dangerous, so they settled for stun weapons.
The two men were quiet, dress shoes clacking against the concrete as they briskly made their way to the top. Izuku used the time to get lost in thought. He couldn't even count all the things that had gone wrong. How had their plan gone so wrong so quickly? Did she also have a quirk that could predict the future tucked away into that arsenal of artificial quirks? That would certainly explain a few things. It's like the woman had only spent the last few years devising the perfect plan, accounting for every action that he would take, and over-analyzed all of them. He suddenly knew how it felt to be on the receiving end of such a personal analysis. He shivered at the thought.
“So…” Phantom broke the tense silence, “you sure you’re ready for this?"
Izuku started at his words and spared a glance back at him. “We have to be.”
“Yeah, I know that. It’s just-” he paused on the stairs, eyes narrowed. “I know you’re the older -ah more experienced-  hero, but this plan totally sucks. Remind me why I agreed to this?"
Izuku held in an exhausted sigh, absentmindedly rubbing the newly done stitches to his chest. He was really not in the mood for this. "With what you told me, I have a rough idea of what she might try. This is the only way we can get close enough to spring a trap on her. Attacking from above is to our advantage. Kach- Bakugo and all of the heroes down there are relying on us. Phantom,” Izuku turned to the man, desperation clear on his face. “right now we're all we have. All they have. If we can't work together, the chances of saving everyone in that room plummets. I’m trusting you to trust me." Grabbing the railing, he eyed the hero. "And for what it’s worth… I am sorry."
The younger hero harrumphed but he looked away, muttering something under his breath.
The rest of the trip up was taken in silence until they reached the maintenance access door for the ballroom. The door was locked but Izuku pulled out a thin wire from the metal band around his wrist and wrapped it around the hinges on the door, praying it would work. It took a few seconds before the wire began to glow orange and the metal sizzled. In no time, the hinge snapped off and he removed the door silently. Of course, he'd be a fool to doubt Mei's work.
"Why do you get all the fancy gadgets?" Phantom whispered the question leaning close to see the band but backed off as Izuku shot him a warning glare. "Well, aren't you unusually moody today? I thought you were always Mr. Smiles in the Face of Danger."
Izuku didn't respond, simply heading through the door out onto the darkened balcony that overlooked the ballroom. He'd left his smiles at home, with you. It was hard to muster one up this time. His mind and body had been stretched to the limit recently and he still hadn't quite regained that confidence ever since the whole subway fiasco.
The high vaulted ceiling was about two stories high, meaning a fall, especially without quirks, would be deadly. The catwalk itself was narrow and expanded out across the ceiling to reach various lights and ductwork. The metal that made up most of the bridge was rusty and the railing was covered in a layer of dust. It hadn't been used in a long time.
Holding a finger to his lips in warning, he crept to the edge and peered down. Most of the heroes were out for the count and he hoped it was just because they had finally exhausted themselves instead of the alternative. Fog still marred most of the room, obscuring his vision, but he did catch sight of the unruly blond hair poking out. Relief flooded his already aching chest as he stared at Bakugo. Still Standing. Still breathing. Still alive.
Phantom moved to stand beside him, taking in the scene below. He wore a more serious look now. That playful (if you could call it playful) attitude was gone. His eyes moved rapidly, searching the floor with eagle eyes as if looking for something.
"They aren't dead, are they?" He glanced at Izuku for an answer.
"No." At least he hoped so.
An earsplitting squeal of electric interference resounded around the room. Izuku stumbled away from the edge, grabbing his ears. It reminded him too much of Tatsuya and for a moment, he was back in that faux house again. Then he shook his head, refocusing on the situation below.
Phantom had crouched down, covering his ears with a grimace. "That never gets easier to hear."
“What?” Izuku murmured, rubbing his sore ears.
"Well, well, well," a woman's voice boomed over the speakers, "it seems like we have a real party going on now. What a show that was!"
Izuku blinked, recognition crossing his face. He knew that voice. How could he forget the voice that haunted his dreams?
"All we need now is the guest of honor. Where did that coward of a hero run off to?"
Now was not the time to be getting lost in his memories. He moved back to the edge of the balcony, thankful for the shadows obscuring him in the darkness. Her voice boomed across the room, making it nearly impossible to tell where she was. Instead, he focused on Bakugo who seemed to be on the verge of collapsing. Even from this height, he seemed shaky, visibly trembling from exhaustion. Below him, Ochaco lay sprawled out on the ground. Guilt lanced through him just as painfully as the wound in his chest.
"Oh? No threats? Where's that fighting spirit hero? Have you lost your tongue?" She laughed, electricity crackling as the octave capped. "And here I thought you might've had what it takes. I guess I was wrong."
"Oh, you'll get what's coming to ya!" Bakugo shouted, his voice losing none of that fiery will. "So stop hidin'!"
"If you insist."
Up on the stage, the air condensed in a stomach achingly familiar way before Ikari emerged. She had even donned her old hero costume with the overconfident, egotistical grin to match. Beside him, Phantom hitched his breath, appearing to recognize her as well.
Izuku noticed Bakugo waver as he stepped forward, determined to face her head-on. "Don't be reckless," he muttered to himself, all too aware of the hypocrisy in his words.
"What's the point in fighting something that's already been decided." Stay down and you might just survive this. I'm not here for you, after all."
"Revenge," Bakugo growled out. "What a stupid notion."
"To you perhaps. But this is about more than revenge." Face still sporting that overconfident smirk, she pointed a finger up, almost directly to where they were hidden in the shadows. "Isn't that right… Phantom."
Izuku instinctively took a few steps away, turning to face the hero, on the defensive.
Phantom had the stun gun pointed at him, a dark look on his face. They stood in silence for a moment.
“Why?”
Phantom took a step forward, finger twitching on the trigger. “Nine years ago. Nine years, Deku. Her name was Umi. She died because of you.”
Izuku’s eyes widened, the name and the memory burning fresh and bright in his mind. It had been the first civilian death he was responsible for. He remembered that day all too well. A villain had escaped police custody, running rampant in a small neighborhood. By the time he’d gotten there, most of the evacuations had been complete. Except for her. She had stayed, hiding, watching, and filming in one of the half-demolished buildings.
She was young. A bright dream of becoming a journalist and one misfired attack from the villain crushed that dream in an instant. He had spent over an hour trying to dig her out and when he finally found her, she was on the verge of death, terrified and clinging to him like a lifeline. Her once-silver hair was caked in dirt and blood. Equally silver eyes had dimmed as her life drained out in his arms.
“Your sister.” He said quietly, hands held out in a pacifying gesture.
“The closest thing I had to one. To family.” He growled, gripping the gun tighter. “And you let her die.”
Izuku took a step back, bumping into the gate that led onto the catwalk. He glanced down to see both Ikari and an unsteady Bakugo staring up at them. By the satisfied grin on her face, she probably could hear their every word.
Looking back to Phantom he took a deep breath and made the first move. He launched himself at the hero, fist poised to strike.
Phantom fired. Two darts shot out and Izuku dove to avoid the sparking tips. Rolling to his knees, he unhooked the gun from his back and aimed the dish. But Phantom was already charging and before Izuku had a chance to fire, his hand was kicked, and the intense burst of sound from the dish missed. Invisible waves of noise crashed into a large chandelier, shattering the ornate glass and sending the entire structure crashing onto the stage beside Ikari. Though she didn’t even so much as flinch, watching the fight with keen interest.
The gun flew from his hands and skittered out onto the narrow catwalk where it came to rest precariously on the edge.
He gritted his teeth and blocked the next hard kick with his forearms, then twisted, managing to grab Phantom's ankle to pull him off balance. Phantom stumbled back to regain his footing. Izuku used the chance to bolt onto the catwalk, hopping the little gate and running for the gun.
Phantom was right behind him, quickly closing the distance. He crashed into Izuku and they both tumbled onto the steel grating. The platform wasn't nearly big enough to fit them both so they struggled in the tight space, glancing a few rough blows off each other before Izuku managed to slide his knee underneath him and kick him backward.
The force knocked the younger hero back a few feet but he grabbed the railing to right himself and charged again. Izuku had rolled onto his stomach to reach for the gun, but Phantom was on him again, pouncing above him to grab it first. Izuku's fingers bumped it just enough for it to teeter over the edge before slipping through the bars.
"No!" Izuku slapped the metal band around his wrist and the wire shot out, wrapping around the handle of the gun, catching it about ten feet below. It dangled in a moment of silence as both heroes looked at it.
Izuku used the opportunity to see what was happening below them. Both Bakugo and Ikari were staring up at them, watching the battle. He caught Bakugo's gaze, giving him a slight reassuring smile that Izuku knew would probably irritate him before Phantom grabbed his wrist and smashed it into the grate. With a cry, he released the hold on the gun and it clattered to the floor.
The force of the blow creaked with the metal on the platform, making the entire structure sway. Cracks on a few structural wirings suggested someone's quirk must've reached high enough to damage them. The entire rig was destabilizing. They needed to get off or risk falling.
"Phantom," Izuku turned to the man shouting, "think about this. You're a hero!"
"Oh, trust me, I've put plenty of thought into this. For nine years, I’ve thought about how it would feel to do this!" He grinned and with one heavy kick, sent Izuku sprawling across the grates.
Izuku groaned and scrabbled at the metal to pull himself into a sitting position. His back pressed into the thick bars of the railing. He took a deep breath, clutching at his chest and doing everything in his power to keep the pain at bay. His newly done stitches were probably torn and Bakugo was going to kill him if he survived this.
He watched with a heavy glare as Phantom slowly closed the distance then his eyes flicked down below and he couldn't help the small grin that flashed across his lips.
A loud snap drew both their attentions as the entire rig abruptly listed to the side, forcing Phantom to hold on or fall off. Izuku wasn't so lucky as he slipped through one of the bars and half his body was flung over the edge. He managed to catch hold of the lowest rung while the rest of his body swung over the deadly drop. He cursed, sucking in a harsh breath as he tightened his grip through a pained gasp.
"Well Deku, what do you think?" Phantom made his way over and leaned across the bars to stare down at the dangling hero. "Think that was enough of a distraction?"
They both glanced below.
Tumblr media
Phantom buckled the holster to his waist, spinning the twin stun guns before slinging them. He glanced at Izuku fiddling with the plastic band on his wrist. The guns were plastic too, he noticed. In fact, all the weapons in the bag were plastic.
“Let me guess, Creati made these?” He gestured to his weapons. “Smart.”
“Ikari's quirk,” Izuku explained. “She can manipulate metal.”
“Yeah, I know.” He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall. “Still, it probably won’t work attacking her head-on. You’re doomed to fail.”
Izuku looked up at him, his eyes sharp and almost…nervous? Phantom grinned. It wasn’t every day he could ruffle the number one hero.
“You’re working for Ikari, aren’t you?” He watched the pale white-haired hero warily, almost resigned. “You’re a promising hero. There has to be another reason why.”
Phantom lost his smile, body tensing. “I don’t know, you tell me. You always thought you had all the answers, World's Greatest Hero.”
He was silent for a moment, ignoring the barb in favor of choosing his words carefully. “It’s clear you hate me. Maybe you and Ikari share the same goals.”
“Newsflash Number One, ” Phantom grumbled, “I do hate you. But if you seriously think I’d let that ruin my entire life, my entire career, then you’re even more dumb than I thought.”
Izuku blinked, still on edge as he watched the man in front of him. “But you are working for Ikari, aren’t you.” It wasn’t so much a question as it was a simple statement.
“Yes.” A simple answer in return.
“Phantom, I don’t have time for this. Every minute we waste in here, people get hurt.” Izuku leveled a glare his way. “I assume you have a good reason for doing so.”
He smiled wide, perplexed. “You’re so trusting. I can see why Bakugo is always so agitated by you. Or maybe that really is his whole personality. Regardless,” Phantom sighed and stepped off the wall, “how long have you known?”
“That you were working for her? About a few minutes ago. That she was back? About a month.”
“Two years. That’s how long ago she brought me in on her cabal.” Phantom held back a snarky remark at Izuku’s wide-eyed gape. “She thought she could use my hate to add fuel to the fire that would eventually destroy you. After I realized just how big an operation she was running, I knew I couldn’t turn down the opportunity.”
“The Kobaruto. Trace. You helped fund her entire plan.” Izuku said though he looked slightly baffled. “You wanted to play the long game, take them all down from the inside? That must’ve been a major undertaking. I’ve never heard about anything remotely close to something like that in the works.”
“Because it wasn’t government-sanctioned. I ran solo.” He gauged Izuku’s reaction, continuing when the man didn’t say anything. “You really pissed her off, you know? It took a lot of background work to keep everything running smoothly with minimal losses.”
“Minimal losses?” Now that fury Izuku was keeping in check came out with a passion. “So you knew Ikari would sic Tatsuya on Y/N? Did you know she was planning to slaughter the Hashira gang? You knew they were going to attack us on the bridge? You knew about everything?”
Phantom’s face hardened. “She wanted to just kill Y/N outright. To kill all of them. Her orignal plan was to slaughter your entire family and friends. She wanted nothing more than to see you left with nothing. I convinced her otherwise.”
Izuku faltered at that, stepping back as if the very words had sucker-punched him right across the face. “What?”
I spied on you for months. You had no idea, did you?” he asked. “I did my due diligence. Spied on everyone. That’s how I found out about Tatsuya too. Figured I could take out two birds with one stone. Though, I didn’t expect him to get that far. I never meant for it to get that out of hand, but there was little I could do with Ikari breathing down my neck.”
Izuku fisted his hands but kept silent.
“I did damage control. Hate me if you want, but I saved you all.” His words seethed through his teeth. “I did what you couldn’t do.”
They both glared at each other for a long tense moment before Izuku broke away, turning his narrowed gaze to the weapons bag still lying on the floor.
“Why did she turn to you?” He asked silently, a fragile tone to his voice. “You said she wanted to use your hate. Why do you hate me so much?”
“You really don’t know?” He scoffed, folding his arms defensively, or maybe…protectively. “A guy like you, I’m sure you haven’t forgotten that day.”
Izuku racked his brain, running through every scenario they’d ever run across each other. But nothing to deserve such hatred that even Ikari would turn to it.
“Umi.”
It was just a name but again, he felt an impact right in his gut the moment it left his mouth. Of course, he remembered the name. It was one he would never forget. He would never let himself forget it. All of Izuku’s anger deflated as he stared at Phantom with a new light. It all made sense now.
“Someone you cared for. Someone important to you.” He heard himself speak, though his tongue felt numb. “Phantom I-” he paused, then let out a heavy breath. “Hirata, I’m-”
“We weren’t related, but we grew up together. She was my little sister in all but blood. You know, when we were young, we used to play heroes. I was always the hero, but Umi never wanted to be one. She always dreamed of being a journalist. We had even made a pact. I would become the hero and she would become the journalist that would make my name known to the world.” He laughed bitterly. “And I always keep my promises.”
Izuku could only stare at the man in front of him, those hard walls cracked in a few places as he spoke. He was lost in the memory. That same wrenching in his gut, full of devastation tried to pull him under again. That day had been almost too hard to move past because if he had just been a little bit faster, a little bit stronger, a little bit…better, then that girl might’ve survived.
Guilt had completely floored him that day. It ate away at him until he was nothing but a ruined, hollow mess. The first civilian casualty he had been directly responsible for. Toshinori had been there to help him through that day. He played through thousands of scenarios, all coming to the same conclusion that left him in such a dark place that even All Might had a hard time pulling him out of.
“I don’t blame you Midoriya.” Phantom’s words cut through that thick layer of self-depreciation Izuku was working himself into, shocking him to his core. “I mean, I did. For a long time. But I knew placing blame on people never solved anything. I’ve analyzed that day more times than you could count.” He took a deep breath. “I’ve only ever wanted to be a hero to protect people like my sister from getting hurt. I know you’re the same.” He fell silent for a second as if his next words were hard to form. “...there’s still some part of me that has trouble forgiving you, but that doesn’t make me a villain and it never will.”
After what felt like an eternity, Izuku locked eyes with him again. “I don’t expect your forgiveness.” His voice was barely heard above the white noise of the ventilation unit. “But I need to know what you plan to do. There are too many lives at stake tonight.”
Phantom smirked, though it held no joy behind it. “Well, obviously play the villain.”
Tumblr media
Ikari stared at the two of them, satisfaction clear on her face even from this high up. “How does it feel Izuku!” She called up to his dangling form. “To be betrayed by a fellow hero? It hurts, doesn’t it? Maybe you can finally understand the pain of betrayal that I felt that night!”
Izuku focused more on keeping his grip. But he did spare her a glance, one that was not of despair, but one that mirrored her own triumphant smirk. Ikari blinked, confused before she whipped her head to where Bakugo had been wavering on his feet minutes ago. He was gone.
A thunderous sonic wave rocked the stage she was standing. The glass podium shattered under the powerful attack and Ikari's own scream was drowned out. Her hands slapped over her ears to try to fend off the attack to no avail. When the sound died down, she was left shaking in place before her knees gave out and she crumpled to the floor.
Behind her, Bakugo stood on the steps, the long sonic gun in hand with a bloody grin. He dropped the gun and marched over to the hero, dug his knee into her back, and roughly slapped some metal-free cuffs on her.
Izuku let out another shaky breath, relief evident in this one. With one threat taken care of, he turned back to Phantom.
"I never took you for such a dramatic actor," he wheezed, a bead of sweat rolling down his face. "You don't pull your punches, do you?"
"Why should I, Number One? You can take it, right?" He reached down and gripped Izuku's wrist. "As crazy as your plans are, I'll admit, I have always wanted to kick your ass."
"Heh, not the first time I've heard that." He adjusted his loosening grip and offered him a wobbly smile. "Mind helping me up?"
Phantom grabbed both arms and hauled him halfway up before another rope snapped, this time tipping the entire catwalk on its side. His jacket sleeve ripped as he was torn from Phantom's grip. Eyes wide, he watched as Phantom tried to grab him again, nearly succeeding before Izuku disappeared over the edge. It took Phantom everything he had to stay on the dangling rig, nearly slipping off himself.
"Izuku!" Bakugo screamed from below, powerless to stop the fall.
The metal band on his wrist reacted, sending a thin bolt of wire back up to the catwalk, wrapping itself around one of the bars. He came to a sudden and harsh stop that jerked every stitch he had, but all he could do was hiss through the pain and hang on. Black spots danced in his vision as he tried to focus on Bakugo down on the ground. He was still high up, but he swore he could have seen a prick of fear in his eyes. A rarity on the man. He must really be in trouble this time.
"Deku!" Above him, Phantom cried out.
Izuku refocused, looking up. A faint hum from the wire grew louder as it slowly glowed brighter. The metal bar, the only thing tethering Izuku to the platform, had started to sizzle. A thin stream of smoke wafted from where the wire bit into it. His eyes widened as he smacked the band, but the interface had been damaged during Phantom’s attack. He desperately fidgeted with the overlay, peeling off the cover with his nails, and ripped the wiring loose. The entire thing shuddered and powered down. The wire cooled almost instantly and Phantom wasted no time in grabbing hold to act as another anchor.
He let out a shaky breath, tapping the fine filament a few times with caution.
"Use those stupid muscles of yours and climb up!" He yelled, grip straining.
Not wasting any more time, Izuku hoisted himself up, holding in the wince as his chest screamed at him. He wasn't at full strength, especially when each movement sent a flurry of pain down his torso. With as deep a breath he could manage, he pushed it to the back of his mind and kept climbing. He managed to make it halfway before the metal bar, the wire having melted halfway through it, irrevocably snapped in two.
Phantom scrambled to keep his hold, sliding along the edge of the platform with a yelp. The wire sliced his hands and wrenched itself right out of his bloody fingers.
Izuku plunged into a free fall.

A Sea of Green and Red Ch. 13 (A BakuDeku Mermaid Au)
Chapter 13: Help In Unexpected Places
Katsuki woke with a start, gasping as he tried to sit up. Things felt heavy and slowed down which confused him like crazy.
Not to mention something slimey was wrapped tightly around his wrist and keeping him pinned to the thing he was laying on.
That's when it hit him. He was underwater, tied down.
Had the pirates done this? Had they tied him up and tried to kill him this way? He remembered being tossed to the ground like nothing and Izuku's scream.
The sound of it still brought a chill to him. He had sounded so heartbroken, so scared.
He had to find him. But first he had to find out where he was.
He looked around himself finding Kirishima laying on a bed of what look like seaweed, his arm twisted in more seaweed to keep him pinned there.
Panic rose in his chest. Katsuki could breathe underwater but Kirishima had never received a mermaid's kiss!
“Oi! Wake up,” Katsuki said, trying to use his foot to nudge the bed. It barely grazed it but the sound of his friend making a noise had him relaxing.
So someone had given it to him too or he had it for a while? His friend had some answers to give when he could.
Kirishima let out a groan and opened his eyes, sitting up.
“Katsuki? What's going on?” he asked, letting out a yawn and then it slowly started to dawn on him panic rising in his eyes.
“Relax,” Katsuki said. Well that answered a question of his. As far as Kirishim was aware he didn't know he could breathe water. “You some how got the kiss from a mermaid and you can breathe down here. I don't know where we are so don't panic.”
Hearing the growl in his friend's voice Kirishima clammed his open mouth shut, looking around, wonder shining in his eyes.
“Is this what it's like?” he asked.
“What what's like?” Katsuki asked, tugging at the sea weed that was on his wrist and winced. He tugged his shirt aside a moment. An angry looking cut glared right back at him.
All of that really had happened.
“Being able to be underwater and not have to worry about drowning,” Kirishima said, a grin on his face as he moved his hand around.
“Never thought about it,” Katsuki stated. “And also I think this is a little more important than to be thinking about that. I should be dead. You should be dead....What happened to you?”
Kirishima's grin died away and he let out a sigh.
“They found out I was giving information to you to help you get out of there,” Kirishima said with a sigh. “They stabbed me and then left me on the beach to die....how am I alive?”
“I've got the same question.”
Clearly something was up but they weren't trusted. Their weapons were gone.
“I can't get this off,” Kirishima said, tugging on the seaweed. “Are we being held prisoner or something?”
“I don't know,” Katsuki said and then eyed a shadow approaching the cave that they both laid in. “But I think we're about to find out.
“You're awake,” came a woman's voice, coming into view. A mermaid with pink hair and skin with black eyes came swimming in, a gentle smile on her face. “How are you feeling?”
“Would be better if we knew what the heck was going one,” Katsuki snapped at her. “Untie us.”
“I um...can't,” she said, swimming closer to the redhead as he seemed a little less dangerous than Katsuki was at the moment.
“Don't talk to her like that,” came another voice, a male this time.
Katsuki's eyes flicked to the dual haired merman that came swimming in. Katsuki growled, tugging at the seaweed again.
“You. You tried to kill me,” Katsuki growled at him.
“Yes,” the other merman stated bluntly. “But I left you alive now, but because of your reaction I don't trust you yet. So let's get passed that.”
Katsuki was shocked at this but he knew that there were more important things to figure out right now like what was going on and more imporatnaly where was Izuku.
“Tch,” Katsuki grumbled, stopping with the tugging on the seaweed around his wrist.
“What's going on?” Kirishima asked as he looked at the two merpeople. “The last thing I remember at least was being left on the beach. I'm guessing the same for him.”
The pink haired one looked to Shoto and he nodded his head.
“First, introductions. I'm Mina, this is Prince Shoto,” She said, Shoto waving his hand at the formalitiy. “The short answer is we rescued you and healed you. Try not to move too much though, you could open up your wounds again and might attract some sharks which is the last thing we want.”
“Why,” Katsuki asked.
“Because sharks are deadly?” Mina asked.
“That's not what I'm asking,” Katsuki snappped.
Kirishima however was smiles and he reached with his other hand to the mermaid. “He's not one for people much. I'm Ejiro.”
The mermaid blushed and she took his hand.
“Nice to meet you. I'm the one who gave you a kiss to breathe down here,” she said happily.
“Really? That's so cool!”
“Focus!,” Katsuki growled. “The last time I encountered your prince he had tried to kill me with his bare hands. Why all of sudden now you're saving my life.”
“Because I love Izuku,” he stated.
Katsuki scowled at that answer. He wasn't sure what he really felt still for Izuku but he was pretty sure it was blooming into something.
“I love him enough to realize that I am not the one for him. So I want to keep him happy and keep you alive despite that I'm reconsidering my actions...”
“Shoto...” Mina mumbled softly.
“I know,” Shoto stated, inhaling slowly. “I saw a spark between you two. Izuku has never been one to want to do things the way we have down here. I've known him since we were both guppies. I know he doesn't love me but he still wanted to do right by the kingdom and marry me.”
Katsuki's anger started to dwindle a little bit.
“I didn't want to marry but as a prince my hands were tied. I was looking into ways to get out of the wedding,” he continued. “It was devestating when you attacked us but it was also a way for both of us to get out of the wedding.”
“He thought you loved him,” Katsuki told hm. “All he talked about was you.”
Shoto looked surprised but then smiled a bit.
“Aside from his mother I was the only one that showed him kindess. I do love him, but I know that his heart is set on someone else,” Shoto said. “Thus why I saved your life. It seems we both now have a common enemy.”
“We do,” Katsuki delcared, watching as Mina and Kirishima were holding their own conversation, giggling a little bit with one another. He rolled his eyes, focusing on the prince before them.
“Izuku does have to come home,” Shoto started, surprised that Katsuki didn't fight him. “But I will leave the chocie of his future up to him.”
“All I've wanted was to release him and let him go home,” Katsuki said. “I never wanted him mixed up in this. I even tried to release him as soon as he had been caught.”
“He really did,” Kirishima added. “He had been trying as much as he could.”
Katsuki rose a brow at his friend. It seemed the redhead was paying closer attention than he had thought he had.
“I feel like what Izuku wants to do should be up to him,” Katsuki said.
“We might have some hoops to swim through with my father but that is something we can worry about later,” Shoto agreed. Moving to the seaweed he pulled out a blade and sliced it to release Katsuki's wrist. He rubbed it lightly as Mina moved in to do the same for Kirishima. “We need to find Izuku again.”
Katuki rubbed his wrist and let out a small sigh.
“I hope he's alright...” he said. “He let out such a horrible scream...”
“They're planning something big,” Kirishima said. “He's alive. I'm sure of it. They need him for something.”
“More than likely more merfolk,” Katsuki said. “I heard them before I blacked out that they were taking him to the Cove.”
Kirishima cursed lightly and Katsuki sighed.
“What's the cove?” Mina asked softly.
“It's where we go to gather more things for battle. Weapons, more pirates, whatever we would need. It's like the epicenter of where all pirates go to do big things,” Kirishima explained.
Shoto paled more.
“He's going after our kingdom again,” Shoto said.
“That's what I'm thinking,” Katsuki said. “They're going to use Izuku to bring him back to the kingdom and attack.”
“But there is children there,” Mina said with panic. “What do they want?”
“They want the mermaid's kiss,” Katsuki said. “That's what the captain wants but now I think it's something more. Now I think he wants control.”
“We have to go back and warn them,” Shoto said. “ We need to get everyone out to safety before it's too late.”
“We're coming with you,” Katsuki said.
Shoto hesitated but then sighed.
“Fine. But don't expect to be greeted with open arms,” Shoto said. “Mina, if you could reaply their ointments and then we're going to head back. We're going to need to get there before these pirates are ready.”
“What about Izuku?” Katsuk asked with a scowl. “The'yre headed to the Cove. We know where he is right now.”
“And if they're as heavily armed as you say it's like swimming into a death trap,” Shoto said with a roll of his eyes. “There's a reason that they're keeping Izuku and it's to follow him back to the kingdom. They're going to release him and then follow him.”
Kirishima nodded. “They have ways now Katsuki.”
“We have basically a home beacon inside of us,” Mina said. “We're all born with it. It's just a magical urge to find home for when we get lost.”
Katsuki felt his heart sink. Izuku thinking he was going home and then he was bringing down death onto his fellow loved ones.
“You're right,” Katsuki said. “Let's go.”
Shoto and Mina swam towards the entrance of the cave, pulling out their weapons and passed them to the pirtes.
“Let's get going,” Shoto said.
“One issue,” Kirishima said.
Katsuki paused but then realized what was wrong.
“What's wrong?” Mina asked.
“We aren't used to swimming like this,” Katsuki finished. “We need help moving around down here.”

Infodump for bkdk and togachako and also a bit about izuocha? Honestly I just love my gay people. This is mostly just a ramble about mha’s queer baiting vs it’s queer coding and why mha has the shipping wars it does.
I think what I love most about the first two ships is that it’s complicated. Their relationships can’t exactly be put into set words without it SOUNDING romantic. Same with izuocha. Izuku will repeatedly show and say that he cannot “keep secrets” except in instances that may be viewed as queer. I honestly think that the reason Izuku has the close relationships he has with Rody and Katsuki to SHOW that he is supposed to be queer without explicitly saying so. I think that izuocha will probably be canon, simply because she was set up from the beginning to be, but that does not mean that I don’t think Izuku isn’t supposed to be queer.
Mha repeatedly shows us that transphobia at the very least exists, so it’s not a very far off idea to say that homophobia exists. I think Izuku is supposed to be canonically bisexual. Izuku repeatedly shows breaking masculine stereotypes. From not having a father figure, being a momma’s boy, being a scrawny kid, and even just being short. He is currently the shortest boy (aside from mineta) in his class. It just wouldn’t make sense narratively for Izuku to be tall and broad shouldered. He’s a character that’s SUPPOSED TO BREAK GENDER NORMS! Adding onto being quirkless, Izuku is meant to be queer and autistic coded.
Now, this is not me saying that being feminine in any way makes you gay. Of course it doesn’t! But Izuku has always been queer from the start. These narrative choices however, are often used in storytelling as a way to show non explicit queerness in media. The same thing is done with kirishima and Katsuki.
Now I could ramble all day about how kirishima and Katsuki are queer too, but I’d much rather talk about my favorite female characters in the series. Uraraka and toga. Toga is explicitly queer, she’s had both female and male crushes in the past (referenced in togas dream in the manga) and, of course, has a crush and been rejected by both Izuku and uraraka. She’s on the bi spectrum, but she has no canon sexuality other than that she “swings both ways” (according to her character sheet). Ochako however, is not explicitly queer. I think this was less queer coding and more queer baiting tbh. There’s a lot of official art of them and a lot of it is a little sexual to some extent. Horikoshi has also shown that he is attracted to Ochako which is honestly weird. If you wanna go and find it he’s said it in an interview with the director of the anime. They were talking about how they changed her body according to their “preferences”.
Anyway, that’s not the point here. Ochako and toga along with momo and jirou are repeatedly shown to have this maybe relationship with each other, and then give them a few moments with their end game male partner. (Kaminari for jirou and Izuku for ochako) This is queer baiting. The point is to not only sexualize the women in your show/media that are high schoolers, but also to gain the attraction of queer fans that often don’t step into shonen spaces often. Simply because: shonen gives crappy romance subplots that are always straight. People would much rather watch shows that represent them. Often sports and gay romance animes. This did not affect mha though. In fact, a lot of queer fans (to my knowledge) came into the anime community and fandom because of mha! It’s WHY a lot of mha is shipping wars. It’s one of the few shonen that DARE step their toes in the water into queerness. To some degree, it did help clear up the water a bit for more queer rep and more specifically, queer shonen rep in the fandom world, but there is so much more to do and grow. Mha is a good first step.
There is hope. I swear on it.

"where are we going, y/n?" the green-haired boy said, walking beside you as you both went outside UA. he could see the bag you were carrying but it was impossible to see what was inside. you simply grinned at him as you pulled his hand to a bus stop, just near UA.
"it's a secret!" you said as you bound the bus. you sat just near the back, beside the window and midoriya beside you. it has been a year since you both started in UA and you both were as close as ever. it's still quite awkward when your friend groups tease you both, but you learned to ignore it just as midoriya does because he will never see you that way ever because who tf are yo
okay, what. you sighed, eyes narrowing at the right earphone being given to you. you looked at midoriya who grinned, pointing at his phone which has his spotify playlist open. you smiled back, accepting the earphone and putting it in your left ear.
the past few months with midoriya constantly reminding everyone how you two were just friends, though you couldn't madmit to anyone, definitely sucked. like, what would you feel if your crush, albeit just a happy crush, vehemently denies the possibility of you two. sucks, right? but then again, you were just kind of glad that you didn't lose him. he's one of your closest friends, aside from katsuki, so losing him over such silly thing, is just…going to hurt.
hm. maybe you'll confess soon, before graduation maybe? but for now, you're going to enjoy everything he could offer to you, kinda stupid but what are you going to lose? your thoughts stopped when you realize the next stop was your stop and so, turning to midoriya, you motioned to take the earphones off.
"what is it, y/n?"
"we're almost there, next stop. get ready!"
you pressed the button for the next stop and he got off, offering his hand to help you down. he offered to carry the bag, to which you gladly allowed, because you knew him, he would not stop unless you gave it to him. you hooked your arm in his, a gesture you were both not new with as you did it even as a child, and walked to the park.
midoriya was curious, what were you guys doing at the park? his eyes lit up when you took the bag from him, taking out a blanket and putting it on the ground. "a picnic?"
"why not? we haven't done this since we were kids and we were with our parents, no less."
he chuckled. "that's true. well, then, i guess we'll enjoy the cool breeze, then."
you beamed, taking out a few items. "good! here are a few pens and paper, i know you wouldn't be able to sit still for a long time, so."
he grinned, taking them and thanking you. you were beside him, sketching a few things and writing things down. he did the same, with occasional muttering in his case. close to lunch time, you got out your bag again, taking a few bento boxes and a lunch box cake as well.
you checked the bento boxes, giving midoriya his and the lunch box cake was placed between you two. midoriya's jaw dropped, seeing the cutest box in his hands with his favorite, katsudon!
the lunch box cake in itself was cute, although a bit sloppy in design, but it was really cute and thoughtful as it said, "plus (1) ultra, izuku!"
"hehe, sato helped me bake it but i designed it myself! it was really hard, as you can probably tell, but i hope you like it!"
he had a watery smile when he turned to you, saying, "thank you, y/n."
you grinned, telling him to dig in which he did. you both sat in silence, watching nature as you ate. then, getting a lighter and a candle, midoriya blew his cake after he wished. you snapped a few pictures, uploading them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a few hours after, you were now at the cinema as you purchased tickets for a rather new hero movie you knew midoriya was planning to watch. he was quick to buy the food and drinks, throwing you a pointed look when you tried to argue.
you sat in the middle, glad that you were able to snag good seats. midoriya couldn't help but look at you every once and in a while, though you didn't notice, completely engrossed in the movie. he couldn't help but notice your features, face burning as he tried to focus on the movie once more. no, this shouldn't happen. you were his best friend. he likes someone else. why the hell is he thinking about looking at you instead? fuck.
he didn't notice the movie was done until you were standing and looking at him, concerned. "you okay, izu? we need to go back, your friends are probably waiting for you."
"ah yeah, let's go." he grinned, standing up. he let you lead the conversation as you ranted about the villain in the movie and raved about the hero and basically, the movie he really didn't understand much, save for a few scenes when he was able to focus. he was glad you didn't really saw him being distracted, because he doubt he could lie to you.
once back in the dorms, you turned to him, grinning. "thank you for accompanying me, izu! i hope you had fun! here's your gift, by the way! please open it later!"
his eyes were wide, the things you did weren't your gifts…? he smiled, pulling you into a hug. he hoped you didn't hear his wild heart. "thank you so much, y/n. i enjoyed today, thank you!"
you beamed, patting his shoulder after you separated. "i'm glad! now go! they're waiting. happy birthday, izu!"
he grinned, his smile was so cute, you thought as you tried to still your beating heart. you walked to the sofa where the bakugou and the others were, smiling as they (except bakugou who mumbled) greeted izuku who waved as he walked to the elevator. you waved to him, saying goodbye.
once the elevator doors closed, he slumped against the back, holding a hand to his heart. yeah, this cannot be good. no matter, he's sure this isn't gonna last long. (he's kinda right and wrong…)
Tumblr media
yep...definitely right and wrong.

Ranking all the MHA openings from worst to best (part 1, bottom five)
EDIT: Part 2
10. Season 2 second opening: Sora ni Utaeba
Tumblr media
Okay, let's just rip the band-aid off: I really don't like this one. The slow pace of the music really doesn't match the more action-y parts of the opening. There's no punch to really grab your attention, and the visuals themselves are honestly kind of dull and uncreative, especially considering the other openings. The guitars sound almost muted, and its just very boring, both to listen to and to watch. The blue tint to the visuals is probably supposed to be cool, but it just comes off as cheap. All it really does is make me think of Twilight.
9. Season 3 first opening: ODD FUTURE
Tumblr media
I used to not like this one, but it grew on me the day that I watched a season 3 episode with a kid I was babysitting. The almost tech-y, electronic sound of the music is actually really good, and certainly makes for a very unique song, and it's also a lovely compliment to the visuals. This opening gets a couple points docked, because while the visuals are really cool, they're kind of generic and and have almost nothing to do with basically the entire first half of the season; almost nothing about the summer training camp or Bakugou's kidnapping.
8. Season 4 first opening: Polaris
Tumblr media
I like the clearly present theme/motif of growth, since it shows us little clips from previous seasons to demonstrate how far everyone has come. Especially Izuku. The song this go-round is much more chill and relaxed than the music used for previous season, but unlike the second season 2, the visuals actually go with the slower, more peaceful song. There's less punchy vocals and less action moments, but both of those choices suit each other. But towards the end when the song does get a little faster, it completely matches the desperation of Izuku and Eri reaching for each other as they fall. The one drawback, I think, is that it's kinda forgettable, especially when compared to the others, this one kinda doesn't stand out very much.
7. Season 1 opening: The Day
Tumblr media
While not my favorite of the MHA openings, I will admit that My Hero Academia starts its show off with a pretty damn good opening. The instrumentals give off awesome rock vibes, and there's a very punchy emphasis to the rhythm that does a good job of getting you psyched up. The singer's voice and cadence is really strong and delivers on the emotion. The visuals and animation are striking and suitably epic for a shounen, but also pretty well grounded and personal; it gives you a good understanding of the emotional drama and personal stakes that'll be involved. MHA is so much more than just a battle shounen, and this opening does a good job at letting us know that. I especially love the way certain visuals (like Izuku's hero analysis journals) are accentuated by drum beats or bass lines.
6. Season 4 second opening: Star Marker
Tumblr media
The tonal whiplash this opening first gave me considering that Nighteye fucking died the episode before almost snapped my neck, lol. That aside, this is also a really solid opening. I think we all needed the breath of fresh air that was the school festival arc, and as such the opening is upbeat, lively, and bouncy. The pop-art style visuals with all the stylized lines and bold, saturated colors compliment the boppy music. It's all very fitting considering that the arc it's for is for our collective baby Eri beginning her recovery process. Also this op gets double points because it makes Jirou one of the primary focal points.

Split up - Part 13
Part 12 here
____
Katsuki was not having a great day. The first day landing in the past was fun, seeing his friends with a few less years and a few less injuries and scars was something nice. Seeing a very tiny version of himself who was the only one - aside from himself - who knew how to treat Izuku was really nice. And the silent competition with that blonde brat was actually fun. But seeing Izuku there, clueless, was not nice. Seeing Izuku and couldn’t hug him, kiss him, assure him he loved every inch of him, was not nice. It was tough. And it was getting tougher.
He was 22, a pro hero already in the top five. It was a tough job and things happened all the time. And the more you scaleted the top, the more things happen. But he always had Izuku on his side, since the very first day of his career. A Izuku who knew about his feelings, who knew about his struggles and accepted him anyway, who agreed to accompany him in that journey and to be accompanied by Katsuki. A Izuku who knew him transparent, emotionally naked. Not this 17 years old boy who was in the way to be that but was not quite there. This boy wasn’t his to hug, kiss or void to. And having an Izuku around, but not his Izuku, was hard. Yes, he would tousle his green hair and tease him (and the other Katsuki at the same time) a little, but that Izuku was not his Izuku. The Izuku in front of him now wasn’t the one he opened raw in front off and was not the one who accepted all that. This Izuku was his Izuku once, but again, he wasn’t his Izuku.
And he knew that the Katsuki there (the 17 yo) was not himself either. That Katsuki needed to learn, to open up, to let Izuku in. But before any of that, that Katsuki needed to realize and admit his feelings for good. Because the fucker was that dense and stubborn. And Pro Hero Dynamight wasn’t ever known for his patience, but he wouldn’t interfere.
Not directly, at least. Because he wouldn’t mess with the past. He wouldn't push things he knew were going to happen anyway. But fuck! That dense clueless dumb and emotional constipate motherfucker!
The thing is, when you learn something, it is really hard, impossible, he'll say, to unlearn it. And he learned to love Izuku. He learned he always did and always will do. He learned how to make Izuku happy and seeing his emotional constipated past-selve being a dumbass was trying his patience for real.
So he was just longing for his Izuku, admiring this Izuku and aching for his dumbass past-selves at the same time.
Now he was running really early in the morning around the ground of UA when he heard heavy footsteps getting closer. Looking over his shoulder, he could see Izuku running towards him. He waited until the boy reached him before greeting him.
“Good morning, nerd”
“Good morning!”
Katsuki looked at him and immediately noticed something was not right. “Couldn’t sleep?”
Izuku used a few seconds to get his pace matching Katsuki’s and then shook his head. “Not much”
“How’s that?”
“Kacchan kissed me”
Katsuki stopped immediately. “Kacchan did what?”
Izuku paused as well and looked at him with those big pretty green eyes full of emotions. The boy was scared, insecure, a bit sad, worried, hopeful and pretty much confused.
“He kissed me! The middle schooler! I-I don’t know. Maybe I only dreamed it, but mini Kacchan was pretty mad at me after that and I had trouble making him sleep, so I don’t think I could dream all that, you know? But none of this made sense. Because it was Kacchan, and it was the middle schooler! And he kissed me. In the mouth! With his mouth!”
“Okay, cool, relax” Katsuki grabbed the boy by his shoulders and squeezed them to ground him. “Take a deep breath and start again”
Izuku closed his eyes tightly and took in a deep breath, elevating his shoulders in the process. He retained it a few seconds and then let it go slowly, relaxing his posture and opening his eyes to look at Katsuki.
“Okay”
“Better?” Katsuki squeezed him again and Izuku nodded. “Okay. Now. What happened?”
“Last night. I was in my room with Mini Kacchan, you know, he’s been sleeping with me these days” Katsuki nodded to let him know he was paying attention. “And then somebody knocked on my door and it was Kacchan”
“The middle schooler”
“The middle schooler, yeah” Izuku nodded, his eyes very focused on Katsuki's. “And he apologized, and I was like… what? Because… the middle schooler!”
Katsuki nodded, crooking his head a little, he knew.
“And he said he always wanted me to quit my dream because I might get hurt, and I didn’t know that” Izuku lifted a hand towards his own face and started chewing his thumb, looking to the side. “Is… Is that even true? I-”
Katsuki let go of one of Izuku’s shoulders to run a hand through his hair. Letting go a tiny sigh, he said yes.
“Do your… I mean, did I know? Like, in the future? Did the other me know about this?” Izuku kept chewing on his thumb but looked at him again.
“Yeah, I told him… Eventually”
“Okay” Izuku looked to the side again and chewed some more. “Okay”
“Did he kiss you then?” Asked Katsuki after the silence lengthened for a while.
“Yeah. No. I mean, he asked me if Kacchan and I were friends now, and I said yes, and he kept asking a few questions until he grabbed me and kissed me. Like… He kissed me. He grabbed me by my shirt and pulled forward to kiss me. And then he just went. Well, no, he told me he always wanted to do that, but I know that’s a lie, so maybe he was just messing with me all the time, right? Because even if the part of wanting me to quit my dream was true, it doesn’t mean he wasn’t messing with me, right? Because it was the middle schooler Kacchan, who was the worst era in our relationship, in middle school, you know. Of course you know. Well, unless we had it worse in the future, but you said we were still friends so I don’t-”
“Izuku, ohmygod, stop it” He tightened the grip on the boy’s shoulder to ground him again and cut the mutering. “I guess you should go talk to him. Or the Katsuki your age” Izuku didn’t like the idea, if his expression was something to go by. “I mean, I can’t do anything for you. They’re me but not, you know, I haven't been here at 14 and lived through the things he did these last days”
“Yeah. Yeah, you’re right. But not way I’m gonna talk about a kiss with Kacchan. No way. Neither of them”
“You’re talking to me about it” Katsuki smirked at him.
“B-but you are the most approachable. I knew you wouldn’t blow my face off. Maybe Kacchan’s. But not mine” Izuku looked at him with panic in his eyes. “Don’t blow Kacchan’s face off!”
Katsuki laughed and Izuku blushed. “I won’t. His face is too pretty”
“Yeah” Blurted Izuku, before blushing even harder. “I-I mean… I didn't…” Izuku looked at him and quietened. Katsuki was smiling like a fool. He knew that that action was what made Izuku stop in his panic. He could feel his smile stretched so wide all his teeth were visible. And he couldn’t stop it. Izuku was just too cute, too honest and with a big crush on his Kacchan. A crush so massive he now questioned how blind he was when he was 17. Or how dumb. Because it was pretty obvious.
Izuku might notice that too, because he dropped his eyes to the ground and embraced himself, moving out of reach for the blonde. “I know you said you were not gonna tell me anything about the future…”
“A couple times, yeah” Said Katsuki with care, concerned by the change of attitude.
“Yeah. But… Do you know if I get over my crush on him? Because it made me look stupid”
And Katsuki was not good at feelings. He was not good at knowing what he was feeling. He improved by the years, yeah, but right now, in that specific moment, he was feeling so much. It was like a heartbreak, because there were the love of his life feeling bad and stupid about loving him. Because he thought the feeling was one-sided. This boy was aching for somebody he feel was impossible for him, inreachable, when it was the other fucking way around. This boy was wishing to move on to his crush on 17yo Katsuki because he thought it was useless. And he knew that. He knew it too well because his Izuku had told him once, but seeing it in Izuku’s face, hearing it in present time, was something completely different.
And it hurt too that he couldn't tell him anything. Because it wasn’t his place. He was dying to tell Izuku that he wouldn’t have to get over his crush because it was reciprocated. Because they’ll confess their feelings one day and they’ll become one. They’ll have amazing dates full of adventures and domesticity until they finally set and move together, making almost every day a date. They’ll be happy together. Reaching their dream as a team.
But he couldn’t.
And it hurted him.
“Sorry for asking. I gotta go”

200 followers special
includes: multiple characters (would add more tags but.. i reached 30 ;;)
your name is shortened to y/n, they/them pronouns
notes: thank you for 200 followers! this isn’t really going to be that long, but im just doing the characters i really like so ;; ALSO I MIGHT’VE GOTTEN KIRI’S ENTRY A LITTLE WRONG so ugh sorry ;;
shouto todoroki
— THE OBSERVANT SIMP
from the start, he’s quite oblivious to certain things, (social ques, signs of romantic interest, etc.)
but when he’s observant with someone, then that totally means you’re special to him. does he realize how much he pays attention to you? hmm.. maybe?
he’s going to be the first one that notices you’re hungry, even if you don’t realize it yourself. he’s quick to grab a snack and break it open to you
same thing with being thirsty— if he notices that your water bottle is empty, he’ll quickly find the nearest vending machine and buy a bottle.
temperature is also no problem. he can immediately tell whenever someone’s cold; but he usually helps you first
too hot? he’s slowly putting down the room’s temperature
too cold? his left palm starts emitting some sort of heat in your direction, hoping it creates some sort of aid
if your shoelaces are undone, and/or he notices that there’s a button undone on your shirt— he’ll fix it for you
will ask to take your pictures on dates, and he’ll also help you pick out the best photo (not that any photo of you is short of any beauty)
in short— people will notice that he’s actually a big simp for you; because of how observant he is with you specifically.
katsuki bakugou
— THE TSUNDERE SIMP
just because he’s simping for you doesn’t mean he’ll treat you any differently. bakugou will be bakugou, and you eventually learn how to adapt to that.
but even so, his simp habits slip out sometimes.
when he’s cooking, he’ll accidentally make too much to eat, and he’ll coincidentally put the extras in another box and hand it to you
he’s a good student, even with studies. but would he say he’s a good teacher? hm. probably not
but if he notices you need help, he’ll sigh, feining annoyance as he decides to tutor y’all, because those ‘idiots’ are hopeless
rolls his eyes when he sees food on your cheek, but he’ll grab a tissue and wipe it off for you— claiming how you’re so messy.
he’ll act like he hates hearing your ‘annoying ass singing’ but he’ll lean against the doorway and listen to you rock out to whatever song you’re singing to.
denki will call him a simp for looking after you, and bakugou will just yell at him to “SHUT UP” >:T
he secretly likes taking care of you. his words aren’t the softest thing in the world, but his actions make up to it.
izuku midoriya
— THE DETAILED SIMP
as katsuki bakugou would call him; he is a nerd
he definitely meant that as an insult, but his input on detail makes it very useful in things like relationships
he remembers every detail of your quirk, your limits, potential secret moves.
it would’ve been stalker-ish, if it weren’t for the fact that deku does this out of admiration for his s/o
so if you so happen to collapse due to overusing your quirk— deku has a detailed plan on what to do. it’s almost scary.
he puts detail in a lot of things, anniversary gifts, birthday gifts, and so on.
deku’s also the type to plan things weeks before it actually happens. like.. planning out the perfect birthday gift
and with this, his memory is really good. so it’s very unlikely that he’ll just suddenly forget anniversaries and birthdays.
i hc deku as a bad cook, so he eats takeout food more than his homemade food
but he’s takes note of your allergies, your dislikes with food— and he finds himself mumbling small details to recall what you like
when you walk out in pretty/good outfits for dates
his face will break out into shades of red— suddenly rambling all the good details of your outfit, complimenting you while he’s at it
“y/n’s looks fantastic as always. i might die from their beauty”
if anyone calls him a simp, he’ll be really embarrassed about it. “me? a s-simp? is that a bad thing?”
just tell him it’s fine.
denki kaminari
— THE HYPEMAN SIMP
a big simp
like.. really big
he worships the ground you step on, and hypes up everything you do
y’all know when irene from red velvet literally breathed in north korea, and the crowd just
*claps*
yeah, that’s denki to you
it’s so blantly obvious that he’s simping over someone, and everyone’s just kinda used to it at this point
he’s just a big fanboy sometimes
whenever you’re sparring with someone, he’s always in the background like
“go s/o!!” 🤩
and he has tendencies to go a little easy on you like.. what’s he gonna do when you get electricuted??
but that doesn’t mean he’s never serious— nah.
there are times where he’s just a little bashful just being in your presence
sneaking glances your way, as he silently fanboys about you in general.
“s/o looks really good today. they always look good but !!”
when y’all weren’t together, the bakusquad was just tired of the constant romantic pining
it was really obvious that he was simping back then, and they’re not so sure as to how you didn’t say anything about it
mina always called him a simp
so yeah!! it was a big relief when you got together with him. he never makes you feel terrible, because he’s always your #1 hypeman.
eijirou kirishima
— THE HELPING SIMP (rip idk what to call this)
i didn’t really know what kinda name i went for this one but let me carry on
kiri upfront is very confident, and friendly. he never shows a mean side to anyone,
and there are rare cases of him being bashful
he’s kinda almost like a golden retriever? since he’s always nice and friendly to everyone
but then when you enter the room; he suddenly goes quiet, and he’s left alone with his rather loud thoughts about you
he didn’t really know how to properly approach you at first
but him being kiri, he’s still rather friendly to you (for now)
when he’s messing around, practically sharing one braincell with kami and sero
and then you suddenly walk in— he snaps out of his foolishness, and greet you with his very warm smile
“hey y/n!” he waves at you, and he hopes you don’t mention the teasing look on both kami and sero’s face
sometimes when he’s doing his close combat training, and he notices that he’s getting too close to you
he’ll be like “woah man, maybe we should move locations.” bc he doesn’t wanna hit you by accident ;;
kirishima prefers to not stand near you when his hair is all spiky. like he’s never conscious about it, until he’s around you
man poked sero with his hair before, and he doesn’t want to do that to you
kiri always looks at your hand, just to see if it’s occupied with something. his thoughts linger to what your hand might feel like
“their hand looks really.. soft. argh! i shouldn’t be thinking about these kind of things in public! im sorry y/n”
bakugou really only notices kirishima’s simping ways
bakugou always mentions the fact that kirishima goes really silent whenever you’re around—
and he’s secretly contemplating on having you around more so he can just shut up 。・°°・(>_<)・°°・。
moving aside all of that, kiri always carries your things.
you’ll beg him to give you at least one thing, and he’ll say no because it’s “not manly to let someone carry all of this.”
if you’re sad, he’s the first one to cheer you up— reassuring you that everything will be okay.
kiri’s just wants to be at your service at all times! it’s manly to help people, right?
hitoshi shinsou
— THE DISCREET SIMP
no one would be able to tell that he’s simping for someone
because unlike kaminari; he’s not like IM HITOSHI SHINSO AND IM ACTUALLY A SIMP
he’s a lot more discreet, and no one has really caught on, besides you and kaminari of course
he’s a lot less sarcastic with you, asking you about anything that’s happened instead of just being there
he prefers it to hear you talk. the way each word and syllable rolls off your tongue smoothly, and the way you use your hands to emphasize things
he’s amused.
oh and the way he looks at you? almost any normal person can sense the simp in him pop out (he’s so contained though)
he’s definitely the person that’ll get rid of any bug that’s terrifying you— even though he’d normally just leave it to them
he’ll do it, regardless if it’s the biggest fucking spider he’s ever seen, or the smallest spider
he’ll do it to make you feel safe.
he has these random spurs of compliments during the day
the source mainly comes from his staring habit
and they’re just so unexpected and out of the blue. hitoshi’s amused whenever he sees your reaction to his compliments
like.. you could be really frustrated about something, and he’ll just go “your eyes are pretty.” that’s his discreet method tO MAKE YOU TEMPORARILY DISTRACTED FROM THE ISSUE—
call him a simp, whatever. it’s true anyway so he doesn’t why should he be ashamed of it?
he’s discreet about it, since it’s your business and his business. but you can definitely feel his feelings loud and clear
neito monoma
— THE 180 SIMP
“i’m not a simp!”
[you enter the room]
*nervous laughter*
he had his last laugh, and he never thought he’d be this soft around someone.
especially if you’re from class 1-A like.. i became the thing i hated, ugh.
relentless teasing is amped but this is his way of making sure you remember him loud and clear
but he’ll never tease you in a condescending way— like how he torments the rest of class 1-A
that’s reserved for them 💅
always compliments you, that’s the first thing he does when he sees you—
and they’re never generic compliments either
“it’s nice to see you here, y/n! you make the world better day by day!”
“i’m still wondering what you’re doing in class 1-A, you’re much better than them!”
everyone secretly wonders how you got monoma to like you
monoma canonically likes pastels. spread the word
so sometimes, you’ll walk over to your desk— and you’ll just see this random pastel ornament sitting on your desk
you know who it’s from
whenever monoma starts becoming annoying, kendo will definitely use you as a weapon to make him shut up
he’ll be laughing at the expression on his face, thinking he’s absolutely winning at this
but the smile is wiped off his face when he hears “ok go on, i’ll tell y/n about your antics.”
“no, no! i’ll behave now, please don’t tell y/n.”
class 1-b literally use you as blackmail whenever monoma acts up, and it’s because of how different he is around you
like.. his personality takes a 180, (besides the obvious teasing) it’s alarming

Izuku tormented you all through high school. It was almost shameful to admit the way that his gentle teases melted into something far more sinister as the weeks bled into months and years. What started as subtle comments turned into  outright taunts and then the contactless threats no longer remained empty.
No one believed you. And who would?
Izuku was a model student and a good friend, someone with a kind disposition who wanted nothing more than to become the greatest hero. What reason could he possibly have to bully you? You’d never done anything to him.
But he did. For three years he mercilessly taunted you and it only got worse your final year.
Izuku would pinch at your thighs, sneering at you in the hallways when no one was looking. He’d snake his hand up your skirt and squeeze the supple flesh hard enough to leave bruises that eventually littered the entire inside of your thigh. They looked incredibly vulgar and Izuku would torment you about it endlessly, despite knowing that he’s the one who left them.
He’d crowd you against the lockers after most people had gone home, knowing you’d be there late after your tutoring sessions.
“Tsk. Quite some marks you’ve got there.” He’d say, stepping up to you, his broad shoulders squared, a half smile creeping onto his face as his eyes studied the inside of your thighs. The marks littered the otherwise smooth skin, visible when looking at you from the front.
“You get them from slutting yourself out?” Izuku would ask, stepping toward you again. “Y’look like a bit of a whore, don’t you?”
He’d lean in close to your ear, venom seeping into each of his words as he cornered you. His hand crept up your skirt, eyes trained on yours which widened with fear as he pinched down, relishing in the yelp of pain that escaped you.
You wondered how someone like Izuku could make you feel so small and so insignificant. You couldn’t even bat his hand away as he made a fool of you, pinching at the inside of your leg with thick, calloused, and scarred fingers. It didn’t matter how tall or strong you were because it always seemed that Izuku was bigger, domineering in attitude and words. He really did know how to reduce you to a helpless thing.
It seemed Izuku was growing more desperate by the day as graduation gradually crept closer. It was like he made less of an effort to hide it, blowing into your ear and whispering vile shit to you while in class, things that would make anyone squirm in their seat. He’d start bumping into you, singling you out, making an effort to get you noticed by his friends so he could have you as a little plaything whenever they hung out.
And you let him. You let him make a toy out of you, tagging along with Iida, Uraraka, and Asui on Saturday outings, letting Izuku pinch and prod at you from across a restaurant table.
The truth was, Izuku Midoriya fucking terrified you.
So you couldn’t say no to him. To everyone else you looked like nothing more or less than one of his many admirable friends. Promising quirk and a promising future, what a match for UA’s golden boy.
You were at your wits end and by the time graduation rolled around. No one listened to you. Hell, people often brushed off Izuku’s very genuine threats as classic childhood teasing. “You’re such a good sport!” they’d say as Izuku patted your back, laughing an all too cheery “just kidding!”
How were you supposed to focus on graduation day, all dolled up in your cap and gown, unwilling to admit to yourself that maybe it was for him? Still, you found yourself automatically flinching whenever Izuku came around, eyes following him across the lawn as he ignored you in favor of photos. Izuku had a promising job offer waiting for him, and his many awards won during the ceremony earned him several congratulatory handshakes as well as pictures for the school’s newsletter.
Still, he’d catch your eye when smiling for the camera, an all to familiar glint in them. His smile made you sick to your stomach, made it churn in the worst of ways. It was doing back flips as he stalked across the lawn towards you until his sturdy frame was against yours. He leaned down, lips brushing beside your ear to whisper one final taunt.
“It’s a shame you’re not wearing that little skirt of yours,” Izuku breathed, eyes flitting over the cap and gown. “Would have liked to pinch those skank thighs of yours one last time. S’what you deserve.”
And then he stood there, watching the way tears began to crowd your waterline, threatening to spill over as three years of tormentation came to what felt like an underwhelming head. Izuku tilted his head, watching the way water stained your made-up cheeks, before taking his thumb and wiping the tears from your eyes.
“Don’t cry, doll.” He taunted, voice far too sweet for the words that fell from his lips. “I’m not near done with you yet.”
Why was his tone so comforting? So confusing that you weren’t sure if it was dread or relief that filled your senses, ears suddenly feeling clogged with water. Your eyes darted from his to anyone on the lawn who could see you, who might be watching as Izuku pushed you to tears with only a few words, until you caught Bakugou’s gaze.
Ah, Bakugou Katsuki, someone who’s done to Izuku what he does to you. It’s a bit of a fucked up little triangle because while Izuku was bullied by him and you are bullied by Izuku, you couldn’t help but hope that Bakugou would be the one taunting you, the one pinching your thighs. At least that’s what you told yourself. Maybe he’d help you, after all, he was probably the only person who’d believe you in the first place.
So once Izuku had wiped your tears with a condescending thumb and left to go partake of other party activities, you pulled Katsuki aside by the shoulder, fingers digging into the meat of his bicep.
“What in th- you?! The fuck are you doing?” Bakugou asked, eyebrows furrowed in the permanent scowl that he wore so frequently.
“Sh, look please just, hear me out.” You spoke, voice hushed as your eyes shifted around. You had the feeling that if Izu saw you with him, you’d be in for it. “I just- I really need help.”
Bakugou was about to scoff, was about to roll his eyes and walk away until he saw the redness under your eyes that the makeup couldn’t hide. The way you sniffled slightly as you asked and the way you looked to the floor. He’d never seen you like this, almost broken. It was something he’d seen often in Izuku, but something about seeing you like this made him ache.
“What?” He responded, trying not to seem too invested.
“It’s Midoriya.” Your voice grew quiet, almost in shame as you spoke the formal version of his name.
“And?” Bakugou was impatient. He cared about you but not enough to sit here for five minutes while you stuttered. “Spit it out.”
“He- he won’t leave me alone.” The words tumble from your lips so fast and before you know it, your hands are balled into fists on his chest, the material of his gown scrunched inside them in a plea. “He’s a nightmare, he pinches me and says the most awful shit to me. I- I mean, the inside of my legs and thighs are littered with bruises and n-no one believes me.”
“Midoriya? As in, ‘shitty deku’ Midoriya?” Bakugou takes a step back in slight shock.
“Yes!” You shout, far louder than you intended, pulling him closer slightly as you hush your tone in a whisper. “What the fuck am I supposed to do?”
He nudged you off of him, brushing off his gown. Bakugou would be lying if he said it didn’t make his blood boil. Sure, him and Midoriya had buried the hatchet a long time ago but he still wanted dirt on the guy, plus he thought it was a coward move for him to bully someone as pretty as you. Though after seeing the way your eyes get wide in fear, he can’t say that it wasn’t incredibly tempting. There was something enticing about how you looked when you begged, no doubt Izuku saw it too.
“You’re too sensitive.” He scoffed, meeting you gaze and watching the way your expression fell. “What you do is graduate and forget about that shitty extra. There’s really nothing else to it.”
You reached for him again out of habit this time, like if he turned around now you’d really be thrown to the wolves.
“N-no, Bakugou, please.” You plead again, tears once again gathering in the corners of your eyes. “I-I can’t. I just need help.”
Oh, he gets it now.
He sees what makes you so appealing, what makes it so easy to walk all over you. You looked pretty when you cried. So he leaned in, his scowl turning into a smirk before speaking again.
“No.” Bakugou’s smirk turned into an outright grin, eyes crinkling at the corners before he stood back up. “I graduated. Shitty Deku is your problem, not mine. Deal with it yourself. Just stop talking to him or whatever.”
And with a wave of his hand he was off, walking towards his group of friends. Well, there goes your life line, the one person who actually believed that Izuku was tormenting you wouldn’t even lend you a helping hand. You supposed it was too much to hope though, and he was right, you could forget… stop talking to him. Why did the idea of that suck almost as much as staying under this thumb?
“____!” Bunette locks bounced as your friend came towards you, hand outstretched in a wave before she pulled you into a hug. “We’re all going to Midoriya’s place to celebrate graduating, come with?”
You liked Uraraka. Well, you actually liked all of Izuku’s friends. They were sweet and honestly none-the-wiser to Izuku’s torments and taunts. She wore the kindest smile, eyes bright with the excitement of finally starting her adult life.
You glanced at the rest of them, eyes flitting around friendly faces until your gaze met Izuku’s. He looked upset, eyebrows furrowed slightly and eyes cold as he stood there. They all agreed, urging you to go before Izuku spoke up, smiling gently at you over the top of Uraraka’s head.
“You should come. We’ll miss you if you don’t.” The rest of the group nods their agreement, but it wasn’t them that pulled the small okay from your lips. It was Izuku, the way his eyes had a threatening glint to them as he spoke, a smile creeping into them in the most unsettling of ways. Your stomach was turning again, twisting over and over because something about the way Izuku looked at you made you squirm.
“Yay! Okay, we’re all gonna meet there after!” She smiled, taking your hands in hers and giving a small squeal. “It’s gonna be so fun!”
And with that she was bouncing off with Asui in the direction of Kaminari and Kirishima.
Izuku stayed behind, walking slower than his friends so he could bend down to speak to you. You could feel his breath against your neck as he spoke, words sending shivers down your spine. Despite the way your heart hammered against your rib cage, you tilted your head to hear him better.
“You better be there, doll.” He muttered. “It’ll be worse for you if you’re not. Be a good girl for once, yeah?”
He sounded more upset than usual, hand coming up to squeeze your shoulder hard enough to make you flinch, and when you looked up to meet his eyes, he didn’t wear his standard grin. Izuku looked angry, furious even. It made your skin crawl, made heat creep up your neck and onto your cheeks so furiously that you found it hard to see through.
All you could do was nod, fighting the pout that tried so hard to paint your face. You squeezed your thighs together instinctively at the phrase. He never praised you, not even once. Hearing the words “good girl” drip from his lips so angrily made them fly shamefully south. He gave a small laugh before walking off. It was almost like he knew, leaving you to rub at your sore shoulder.
---
Why were you here? You could have just not come and then you never would have had to see Izuku again, never would have had to deal with him until one day in the future when you’re too successful a hero to pinch. Still, you wouldn’t admit it to yourself or anyone else, but you might miss him. The teasing was a nightmare but it was attention, something that reminded you that at least Izuku still saw you.
He couldn’t be ignoring you if he was calling you a slut.
You arrived after everyone and Izuku opened the door for you with a jeering grin before stepping aside to let you in, pinching at your thigh again. He noticed immediately that you wore a skirt and he didn’t have to wonder why. It was an invitation for him, of course.
You’d actually never been to Izuku’s house, so sitting in his living room eating snacks and drinking was unusual to say the least. It was surprising because beyond pinching you in the doorway, Izuku was being oddly kind.
He sat next to you, his thigh pressed against yours, but he didn’t try anything. Didn’t whisper in your ear or grab at the fat on your side. You couldn’t help but ask yourself why. Even as the latter half of the day droned on, you were on edge despite being treated, finally, like one of the group. What did you do wrong? Was he no longer interested in you? Most importantly though, why were you upset that he wasn’t pushing your buttons?
The end of the day came quickly, dark settling over the house while everyone gathered their things to leave. You’d all walk home together, leaving Izuku alone in his house. He smiled as everyone waved goodbye, bittersweet tears in his eyes as his final high school hang out came to a close. He cried at the ceremony while delivering his speech and then again at his house while Uraraka babbled on about her appreciation of UA. You can’t say you felt the same.
“Not ____.” He said as you slipped on your shoes, placing a hand on your shoulder. “I’ll walk her home since she lives in the opposite direction. Plus, I gotta give her something.”
Izuku smiles at his friends, who all nod their understanding. They wouldn’t suspect that he’d do anything wrong, that he’d be keeping you behind to maybe, finally, torment you. What a fucked up way of thinking. The door to his house clicked shut and your blood ran far colder than you thought it would as he approached you.
“What’s wrong, doll?” He taunted, a fake pout adorning his features. “Thought I’d let you off easy? After today?”
Izuku raised an eyebrow before rolling his eyes at the realization that you don’t know what he’s talking about.
“Wow, you really are a slut aren’t you? Clinging to Bakugou so shamelessly today?” He scowled looked over you.
Your eyes widened, lips parting as you remembered grabbing at Bakugou’s shirt, pulling him towards you earlier that day in a plea for help.
“Did you think he would help you?” He sneered. “Bakugou’s just like me. He doesn’t care about a whore like you. Did you think that if you pushed against him like that he’d cave? Fold because your perfect body was flush on him?”
Izuku took your face between his pointer and thumb, spitting venom at you, waiting for you to respond. His compliment flew over your head.
“N-no.” Yes. “I swear Izuku… I- I didn’t-”
“You- you- you didn’t what?” Izuku responded, mocking your miserable stutter. “You’re my toy. Pisses me off when you let other people play with you.”
And then he’s dragging you towards his room, pulling you into the cramped space and closing the door behind him. He’s muttering like he usually does, pushing you onto his bed so you’re sitting on the edge.
Why were you so relieved right now? Why was your cunt already sticky with arousal? Why did every single word he was saying to you go straight south? You take your bottom lip between your teeth trying to find a way to shake your head in protest— to get up and leave— but the movement just wouldn’t come. Instead, you hang your head, eyebrows pulled up and cheeks flushed with heat as he stares you down.
“Why are you doing this?” Your voice is barely a whisper, hardly audible over the sound of his frustrated breathing and your own rampant heart beat. “I’ve never done anything to you.”
Izuku scoffed this time, stepping forward and taking your face in his hands again.
“Haven’t done anything?” His words are venomous and his face is inches from yours, hot breath fanning across your cheeks. Were his hands always this big? “Dressing like that and saying you ‘haven’t done anything’?”
His eyes flit down to the fat of your thighs, free hand groping the flesh hungrily, hard enough that it had you sucking in a sharp breath. Izuku couldn’t take it anymore, squeezing your cheeks and pressing his lips to yours in an aggressive kiss.
Truth was, you drove Izuku batshit crazy. Right from the moment he saw you he could hardly contain himself, prancing around in that tiny fucking skirt with an ass like that. Daring to act so innocent when he was gripping the edge of his desk to keep from pouncing on you as you introduced yourself to him, as you hung all over his middle school bully, or as you flashed your hot pink panties while in class.
To him, you were asking for it and the way you played dumb only made his blood boil further. Izuku was a nice boy, always had been, but the day that he made you cry, telling you that you kind of looked like a slut in your skirt, was the day he knew that he’d have way too much fun with you.
Your eyes got so big, welled up so quickly with tears that he knew were caused by him. It made him proud, made his chest swell at how quickly he could completely ruin your day. This must be how Bakugou felt, to some degree, except chances are that he wasn’t thinking about what your puffy, swollen lips might look like when you’re choking on his cock.
He’d been thinking about it since he met you. Pushing you further and further because you were just so fucking cute when you cried and if he couldn’t consume your thoughts because you like him, then he’d have to settle for consuming them because you’re afraid of him.
You grunted against him, eyes going wide as his lips crashed into yours. You were spinning, heart pounding as his tongue dipped into your mouth hungrily. He pulled away from you quickly.
“Drive me fuckin’ crazy, looking like that.” Izuku seethed. “If you’re gonna play clueless, y’might as well make use of yourself. S’what you deserve.”
And without asking he pushed you from the bed and onto your knees in front of him. You knew where it was going, knew that Izuku wasn’t going to let up because this boundary was being crossed. Still, you shamefully rubbed your thighs together, blinking up at him in confusion and arousal.
“Such a whore.” He said, freeing his cock from his pants and letting it slap against his stomach. Izuku relished in the way your eyes widened, in the way you unconsciously licked your lips. And then he’s tapping the side of your mouth with his cock, head tilted back in a taunt as he watches the way your eyes brim with premature tears. He’d show you real crying.
“Suck it.” A simple command, but one that had you shivering. He kept his hand on your shoulder while his fingers dug into it with a force that was all too familiar. is cock throbbed in his hands as you sniffled and parted those pretty, glossed lips.
Izuku didn’t wait, no, he couldn’t wait, pushing his full length to the back of your throat and beyond, groaning when it entered the tight, wet space beyond your mouth. His head fell back and his mouth fell open at the way you choked on him. Tears forced their way out of your eyes and down your cheeks as he began fucking your mouth.
“Y-you’re a real crybaby, huh?” He cooed, a lazy half-smirk gracing his face. “You did this to yourself. Such– a fucking– tease.”
He accentuated his words with harsh thrusts into your throat, drool pooling in your mouth and dribbling down his cock to his balls. It ran down your chin, mingling with tears as he continued to fuck your throat.
Izuku was big, far bigger than you expected him to be. He completely filled your throat, stretching your unprepared mouth open. You could feel the sides of your mouth pulling at his size, lips cracking as you struggled to take all of him with each of his thrusts. Still, when you looked up at him through big teary eyes, knees growing sore from the way his fist held you to the floor, other hand pulling you against his cock, your cunt grew wet with arousal.
He pulled you off him by your hair, watching the way you gasped and sputtered and sobbed. He loved the scratch in your throat as you coughed and he picked you up by the arm and crawled between your legs.
“Wearing such a tiny skirt to my house.” He spit. “You knew what you were doing, lookin’ like that with your ass out and shit.”
Izuku’s eyes scanned over you hungrily, like he’s been waiting to get you here for so long. Fuck, he still looked big, hovering over you and supporting his entire weight on one of his arms as his other hand wandered down. He flipped up the fabric of your skirt, admiring the way you flinched as his hand ran up your inner thigh.
His hands ran over your figure, squeezing at the fat of your stomach, thighs, and chest. Izuku has been dying to get a piece of you since you met, since he first laid eyes on that frustratingly sexy figure of yours that led him to spiral to this moment. His hands dipped back to your inner thigh, ensuring that your skirt was out of the way, though it was so small already that it proved no obstacle at all.
His breathing grew heavy, hand gently gliding along the supple flesh that he’s pinched so many times, marks from your final day of classes still fading. Izuku’s eyebrows were furrowed together as his hands found your panties, touching you over the fabric that was now soaked through. His eyes snapped to you so fast as he pulled the fabric aside with calloused fingers, wasting no time dipping his fingers into your soaking folds.
“You fucking pervert.” He sneered, glancing down to show you just how wet you’d gotten, all for him. “You like it when I’m mean to you? So fucking dirty.”
Izuku rubbed a swift circle around your clit and you brought your arm up to hide your face, biting into your forearm to muffle the sounds. You shook your head, squeaking out a no as his fingers curled up into you.
“You sure about that? You’re dripping.” Izuku grunted, curling his fingers with his entire forearm and hearing a moan from you. “See? Fucking slut, giving me those eyes, like a lost puppy.”
It was undeniable how you clenched around him and he let out a curt laugh of disbelief.
“Oh… you like that name, don’t you, puppy?” He dipped down to bite at your neck, humming into the skin.
You squirm beneath him but he has you caged in under, your legs unable to move around. Your stomach still turned in fear of him, but that fear was mixing with the intense pleasure building in your core. Even his fingers were a stretch and you could feel his thick cock hitting your abdomen with each aggressive curl, your mind consumed with just how good it would feel for him to break you open. After all, he’s chipped away at almost every ounce of self respect you had. In fact, he practically already owned you mentally, now he was just claiming what he should rightfully own physically.
“I hate girls like you.” He spat, fingers picking up their pace as you were sent barrelling towards your high. “Acting like you don’t know what you’re doing to me. So fucking stupid. But look at you now— Your cunt is practically drooling on me— pathetic.”
You were close, hot with arousal as he lifted your arm from your face.
“Getting close huh? I can feel your whore cunt clenching. Y’wanna cum?” He grinned widely through furrowed brows.
Your eyes were glossed over, tears spilling onto your cheeks and for a moment Izuku almost felt bad for you. Still though, you were just too fun to fuck with, too fun to absolutely ruin. You looked prettier than he could have imagined right now; face sticky with tears of arousal, embarrassment, and fear. Izuku was a nice boy, he really was, except when it came to you because now he just couldn’t stop himself from ruining your cunt.
You were close, impossibly close as you bit your lip in an attempt to muffle the whiney yes that breached your lips. It was involuntarily, almost a survival response as his fingers continued making that delicious squelching sound. Those years of torment were beginning to twist. You were beginning to convince yourself that no, it wasn’t so bad, it’s okay to want to cream on his fingers and be his good girl.
So you nodded, dew-filled eyes stricken with fear meeting his predatory ones in a confirmation. He was building you up so well, your stomach turning over and over, the knot tightening and set to break. And then he pulled his fingers from you as you clenched around nothing, a blinding orgasm ripped from you all by his fingers. Your back arched up off the bed and pathetic whines left your lips.
“You’ll have to beg for it.” He smirked, sitting back on his knees, discarding your panties with a hard tug and running the head of his cock through your slick while you whimper. “Tell me you like it. C’mon. I’ll let you cum on my cock if you do.”
Right now you were certain you’d do anything if it meant you were allowed to cream over him, so you parted your lips, hiccuping through broken sobs.
“P-please Izu, need to cum.” Your voice was low and quiet.
Izuku pushed the head of his cock against your entrance, glowering down at you as he pushed the fabric of your shirt up over those perfect tits that he couldn’t get enough of. He sucked in a sharp breath, facade falling for a moment until he brought his eyes back to yours.
“You like it when I’m mean, huh? Lemme hear you say it.” Izuku gave a cruel smile, eyes darkened with lust.
“Yes! Yes, I like it.” You shout, hand coming up to grab his arm, speaking through desperate tears. “Please fuck me, please Izu.”
Izuku bottomed out in one fell swoop, hearing all he needed as he throws his head back, a groan of fucking pathetic falling lazily from his lips. He rolled his head across his shoulders, starting to move in and out of you, stretching your cunt open with each push and pull.
“So fucking tight. You a virgin?” His tongue swiped at his teeth as he relished in the stretch and the way pain wet your cheeks.
God, he fucking hated you. Hated every part of you. He hated the way your lips looked so good around him, the way your thighs squeezed so nicely around his waist, the way your tears only egged him on. It all made him want to hurt you. You brought out the worst in him. You were too fucking tempting, too easy.
You weren’t a virgin but the stretch of his cock made you feel like one. God, you could feel him in your throat as you gripped pathetically at his biceps, a plea to get him to slow down. Izuku wouldn’t listen though, pounding into your gummy walls mercilessly.
“Not gonna answer?” He laughed, low and threatening before folding your knees to your chest. “Tells me all I need to know. How many men have fucked this cunt of yours, huh? Bet it’s more than I can count on one hand.”
Izuku brought his hand up to your face once more, squeezing your plump cheeks together.
“Don’t worry, puppy. Gonna make it so you can’t take anyone else.” He spits in your mouth, forcing it closed. “Fuckin’ mine now, yeah? My little whore, always have been, right?”
You screw your eyes shut, swallowing sloppily as spit drips down your chin and tears streak from your eyes. Where did he learn to speak like this?
“Say it.”
You’re close again, so full of him, so desperate for him to give you what you want. You can’t resist him, so you might as well submit. Maybe it will make everything easier because you were finding it harder to pretend that you didn’t like it now.
“Yours, m’yours.” You choke out, hand flying to his large one to move it over your throat. “Belong only to you.”
Izuku squeezed the sides of your neck with startling force. It’s almost hateful in how strong it was but it made you whine out against him, voice raking against vocal chords that he forced closed.
“Slut. S-such a slut.” He stuttered as you clenched around him, hitting your high with a roll of your hips and a pathetic whimper. “C’mon, gimme it, puppy.”
Oh god, the pay off was unbelievable. The way you whined his name was better than any sob he pulled from you to date. You were so helpless, your body wracking with waves of pleasure and your pussy clamping down around him. This is what he saw in you the first time he made you cry— this expression. He knew you could make it, eyes big and wide, filled with tears and your mouth open in a deep moan. Fuck, he loved it.
“God, so tight. Good puppy, good fucking puppy.” He fucked into you faster, chasing his own high now as he assaulted your overstimulated cunt.
Your head spun, no longer preoccupied with the taunting or the tormenting. You were stupid on his cock, his good little puppy, like you were meant to be. You should have given in earlier, should have let him shove his dick down your throat sooner because even though you were struggling to get off his fat cock, you couldn’t, and you loved every single second of it. Izuku was only mean to you, only mean to his puppy.
You’re so overstimulated, barreling towards another orgasm and now all you can think about is how bad you want him to fill you up.
“C-cum inside.” You managed to choke out between pathetic sobs and whimpers. You’re crying for it, begging. “Please cum inside of me.”
Izuku let out a low chuckle before bottoming out one final time, shoving his thick fingers down your throat and filling you up. When Izuku came, he came a lot. It flooded your cunt before leaking out the sides where he had you split open. Izuku couldn’t hide his true nature for long, his thighs beginning to quiver and a low groan becoming a high pitched whine as he emptied his balls inside of you like he’d been wanting to for so long.
He stayed there for a moment before pulling out of you and crouching down to watch the way he spilled out of you, admiring your ruined pussy and body. You’re stretched out from him, tears staining your cheeks and cunt gaping from his cock.
And then he’s biting at your thighs, marking up the inside of your leg as you can barely manage to push out a squeal. He’s leaving the marks he’s always wanted to. Those pinches on the inside of your leg were a stand in for the ones he’d create with his teeth. He nipped at the sensitive skin before dipping his tongue into your folds to collect the mixture of him and you in his mouth.
Izuku watched the way you twitched as he cleaned you up, admiring the way your legs flinched whenever he ran his tongue over your sensitive clit. He’s much gentler now but his eyes still frightened you when he came up from between your legs to spit the mixture of cum and arousal back into your slightly parted mouth, ordering you to swallow puppy.
When you finally do— too tired and fucked out to think about protesting, he smiles— standing up off the bed and buttoning his pants with a heaving sigh.
Izuku turned back to your form on the bed, watching the way your chest heaved and the way your pleated skirt crowded at your hips, ruined cunt on display and shirt pushed up over your bitten up breasts. He made a mental note to remember to take your clothes off next time.

You don’t have to respond to this if you don’t want to!! Why do you ship Tododeku? I ship Tododeku as well, but a recent Tumblr post made me realize that the friendship is a bit one-sided. We see Todoroki care for Midoriya often, but we don’t really see it the other way around (with Midoirya). Anyway, you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to! I’m just curious to see what you think. Also, you look really pretty in your recent selfie!
I don't think their friendship is one sided at all? It's been clear since like season 1 that Izuku has IMMENSE respect for Shouto, not just because he's a Todoroki but because of his skill and how well he utilizes his quirk. Before they were even friends Izuku made the decision to help Shouto overcome his past and his trauma, and their fight in the Sports Festival is a huge example of the sort of sacrifices Izuku would make for him. In that moment Izuku had put aside his hopes for victory in order to make a point and help Shouto see his quirk for what it really is. Even tho he knew he'd probably lose!
There's definitely a lot of offscreen moments we just don't see between them too (like how Shouto got Izuku's phone number so he could go dashing off to help him during the Stain arc), so you have to keep that in mind.
Of course Izuku inspired a big change in Shouto which is why we see their friendship shine more on his side of things, but over the course of the series there's lots of little moments between them that shows just how much Izuku cares about Shouto too. Times when Izuku worries about him or is really impressed by his quirk training, or times when he goes to him for advice (like during the Summer Training Camp arc). It's just harder to catch since Izuku's the main character, so he has a lot of these kinds of moments with just about everyone else. That doesn't make his friendship with Shouto any less important tho :')
Also how can you look at this and tell me Izuku doesn't treasure their friendship just as much COME ON

Also I really think there's something to be said about the fact that Izuku was 100% willing to break his bones for Shouto and he DID without hesitation
