Percy felt like he had to confess to Annabeth when he realized he might've started having feelings for someone else (Jason). She was very supportive and appreciated the fact that he told her the minute he realized his feelings were more than just friendly. They talked for a LONG time about everything, and in the end, Percy suggested they end their romantic relationship because he didn't think it was fair to Annabeth.

They both cried (a lot), but they knew it was the best option.

Percy did not tell her who he was developing feelings for, but she took a very well-educated guess. She was right, of course.

Despite not being romantically involved anymore, they're still as close as ever. That will never change.

They may not be who the other is waiting for at the end of the wedding aisle, but they'll for sure be right next to each other up there.

Chlonath wips

I have so many Chlonath art and fic wips… I am such a slow writer and I’ve had most of these written down for like 2 years, so I wanna share most of their premises now in case I never get around to them! For joy and prosperity and whatnot, if someone wants to write one of these just ask me first! Someone needs to feed the chlonath masses. My next fic is going to be the camping one I think~

Your majesty: Despite his bright fiery hair, he was all too easy to erase, to fade into the background. Garish, but unmemorable. Talented, but lame. Chloe decides to change that, takes him on as a pet project as fashion coordinator. "Come on, look at yourself! That hair, those eyes. You were *made* to pop! Everyone’s eyes would turn to you when you’re in the room!" He flushes, was that how she saw him? "But I don’t *want* to be the center of attention..." She smirks confidently/slyly. "Well too bad! Chloe Bourgeois will make a peacock out of this ugly little duckling!". Much later there’s a much quieter, sweeter scene of him voicing not wanting to be that different or flashy and she takes out some accessories that suit and enhance his style, comfy and like him. Eventually oop! She rlly needs a date and it’d go with her pet project, "besides you could use this for networking". "Hm? Oh yeah, a half up half down ponytail would look cute on you, in a street kind of way. But bangs in your face can go for cool and mysterious too. It can give you some personality that goes with or contrasts with your outfit, I guess. But this *is* still a fancy event, so a simple well-groomed swept aside style would keep it prim and formal, and it *is* your first entry into high society... But I *suppose* if you do your big debut with the aesthetic you’ll keep with, it’ll probably help your brand long term, attract the right kind of contract for you right away-" "Wow, where was all this perspective when you were doing the analysis on the blue curtains?" She smirks, "I have more experience in keeping up appearances —and everything it entails— than you think, apparently"

Chloe becomes designer & coordinator, director, for marc & Nath’s comics! She loves outfit coordinating, set designing, composition etc. Marc handles the writing and Nath the drawing, Chloe helps with the visual design. It starts with Chloe suggesting lil things to Nath when she sees his drawings, like add a common accessory to all the team. And since she was queen bee she can fact check some things. He loses his sketchbook while walking and she picks it up, not in her usual mood, n she sees his sketches and starts rattling off about details and fashion. Nath: "oh I- I’m not very knowledgeable in fashion designing..." she looks him up and down, taking his garish outfit in. "That I could have guessed." He huffs, sarcastic "Well, *thank you*, Chloe. That’s not a half bad idea, I could ask Marinette for some designing help, actually!" He lights up at that idea. She grits her teeth, angry and snatches his sketchbook back. She starts drawing on another page and her drawing isn’t really good but the ideas? Wow, they work. Chloe knows her aesthetics. "Stupid Marinette would *not* know how to arrange queen wasp’s hair, thank you very much. Ugh, this is outrageous! Utterly outrageous! You can keep the changes, and keep your god awful awfully thought out designs out of my sight, next time!" With his open sketchbook shoved back into his hands, he stares down at it n truly appreciate it. Wow, this is some serious good job. He thinks about it, kinda smug, oh I can *definitely* play her. He starts leaving his sketchbook behind on purpose n she starts giving him more and more notes when sabrina isn’t around. At some point she comes to the art room and everyone is silent but she’s shy and makes an effort not to be mean. The art dude takes her a bit under his wing and she starts channeling her time n energy into art, peeps of the art room start tolerating her. She takes Marc under her wing confidence wise, and sabrina tags along and rediscovers a love for scrapbooking. Omll marc & sabrina besties qpr cuties?

Pas de deux: they have a random ballet class in PE and they get paired up for the project and chloe 1) wants a good grade for her dad’s rep 2) is goal-oriented 3) has much less barb when teaching. Also prob a sad side note about impressing her mother with ballet classes as a kid.

But Are the Curtains Blue or Just Your Tear-stained Veil: Nathaniel tended to notice things, notice people. To dissect them, as if they were a comicbook character. What was surprising about Chloe is that while her attitude was bolsterous and always seemed so heated, her eyes were like ice, distant. A deep blue, and curtained off, like she could not let anyone else see what they hid. But Chloe was mean and cruel, and sometimes, Nathaniel dug too deep at wasn’t there. Maybe, they were just blue. He always came back at the mystery of her, though, and was pushed and pulled in a one-sided dance with her like the come and go of waves. //Maybe they just weren’t any curtains, whatever that meant. Impression, soleil levant: they have a run in in the museum. Chloe genuinely likes fine art. Nath likes popping color, lineart, contrast and stylistic appeal, more contemporary stuff. Chloe really like impressionism, it calms her down, she could spend a lot of time just watching a painting. When she was a kid her dad would bring her when talking business at the louvre so she ran off with Jean and she knows the museum very well.

Chloe’s dad keeps bothering her about rules and standards and finding a partner, so Chloe resolves to find the lamest lousiest boyfriend. To make a statement, of course, she tells herself so when her eyes keep flicking to the redhead sitting at the back of the class.

What better way to learn to be vulnerable with each other than ice skating, when you’re both awful at it? A date <3

She points out a panel with queen bee when he’s doodling it, she has no context she just chilling "why is her hair down?" Nath answers without missing a beat "It’s a metaphor for vulnerability".

Nath starts disappearing quietly to places more and more, now that he has a miraculous. Chloe susses him out. W-what?? How did you notice it? Nobody ever pays attention to me- Ugh, you’re *impossible* to miss with that fluorescent hair of yours. Well you’re the only person who pays attention to it, apparently. Hah, blame my superior eyes if you must. Well if *I’m* what your superior eyes choose to watch then- U-um, we’re getting sidetracked! W-what are you doing here! Reverse universe where she’s still denied being queen bee so she’s Nath’s sidekick? He doesn’t really have any friends besides Marc which not in this universe bc it comes before, so he wouldn’t have anyone else so lowkey he’s grateful. He notices her really truly changing for the better as they hang out more.

I dig my hole, you build a wall: As Chloe Bourgeois doubles down on being an irredeemable bully, Queen Bee continues to rise on a pedestral of adoration. It doesn’t help, nothing ever does, and it’s getting harder to make herself ignore how miserable she is. Chloe drowns herself in her superhero job, squeezes every drop of appreciation from her fans she can. Nath happens to be one of them, hardcore. She just needs someone to lean on.

26/11/‘22 Chloe gets akumatized into a dollhouse lover like with her teddybear mr cuddles, and she wants to kidnap some ppl and keep them like dolls to play with her and listen to her every want and choice of activities. Sabrina is mad at her so elle la boude. She picks Nath and they have a tea party isolated at Le grand paris etc etc. Maybe after Adrien cuts it off with Chloe so she freaks out amd wants friends, even if toxic controlling, but she’s not shooting for Adrien bc she’s upset at him and ignores him.

Outlined:

He forgets some comic pages behind, vs queen wasp, and goes back to get them and finds chloe reading them intensely, seeming genuinely invested. She’s lowkey having a panic attack n shoos off an akuma?? He’s shocked, but that requires introspection so in the moment he’s doubtful and bitter. She’s panicced and embarrassed about having been found out. He’s like, wtf was so upsetting about my comic?? Jealous of my art? Mad that something isn’t about you? Angry that I have talent and dreams, unlike you? she flinches. She upsetti "you wouldn’t understand." "Oh, try me. I have experience in being put down, after all." He bites coldly. She explains half-heartedly "Oh, here comes the self-pity." Her lips quiver, she looks down. "You’re right. It is self-pity. I’m miserable." The "and I have no one else to pity me but me" is muttered so quietly. Her fists clench, chin tucked in her torso. Then her gaze hardens and she snaps her head up. "Whatever." He blocks her way out. She grits dangerously "*Out*. Of. The way." Her eyes prickle with tears. He doesn’t even flinch "That won’t work today." She’s so close to snapping violently but instead just cries. Blabla "Yeah well, when you’ve dug a hole as deeply as I have, you can’t get out. Not without a miracle, anyways." She says, you could do one about queen bee next, please. N leaves quietly and he’s never seen her so... non-agressive.

Entracte/solo act: Picking on Nathaniel Kurtzberg when alone with him, Chloe found, was a much different experience than humiliating him in public. It turns out, he only unleashes his fury on the most deserving of private audiences. Notes: I headcanon Nath, bc of the reflekto ep, would stand up for himself more if he wasn’t being bullied in public. I feel like having all the eyes on him motivates him to shut up and try to make the ordeal as brief as possible & leave the situation, so when he’s alone and getting sass he has less qualms about snapping and ripping into ppl lol. Chloe goes to the art room and Nath is alone in it. He asks where Sabrina is, she rolls her eyes "She had *something important* to attend to." She goes to see what he’s working on and makes her snide remarks as usual but unlike usual he snaps and rips into her, she loses her haughty attitude real quick. The next time they make eye contact in class, she grimaces and looks away. He wins. But then she gets a fire and glares at him head on. Let the war truly begin. 

To Nathaniel’s and Choe’s horror, the class goes on a mandatory camping trip. It does not go well for either of them. "Um, I’m sorry mme Bustier but I won’t be able to come. I’m sick, yes, cough cough, how unfortunate." Bustier is not amused. She groans when it’s announced they’ll have a camping trip. Nath keeps his in, but for once they agree on something. Ugh.  Nath just wants to draw in his tent, that’s too much to ask??!

Royalties: nath finds out chloe is queen bee and threatens to tell it to everyone so that ladybug will take her miraculous away. In exchange for his secret, Chloe must praise him and his art on her social media, throw his name in at fancy soirées, become his "fan". To Nath’s surprise and Chloe’s horror, it backfires. Royally. Her "Nath is so cool" post was half advertizing half for public humiliation. Being the daughter of the mayor of one of the most famous cities in the world meant she has a lot of followers, quite a few in the elite sphere of Paris. The post’s a bit rebellious on her end because he doesn’t like her calling him Nath. Since Chloe *never* praises anyone and the tone was overeager/affectious, people start theorizing they’re actually dating. He takes the logical leap to be invited by her at an event, but as a plus one because it’s not her party to invite people at. Normally he wouldn’t want to have anything to do with a fancy party, but he begrudgingly has to admit networking is very important as an artist, plus he’d do it to piss off Chloe alone.

Vampire au!! Summary: Beyond her humanity, which Chloe had never truly cared about anyway, becoming a vampire hadn’t really, concretely, taken away anything from her. She was still rich, loved by all of Paris, and beautiful. And yet, she realized then that she had lost herself without knowing when.  //Chloe has been a vampire for a lil while, very upset. Mr cuddly is also a reminder of her past life. She longs to see herself again, she has had to keep out of the spotlight because she has no reflection and can’t be taken a picture of, she asks Nath to draw her like in Mirror, Mirror the awesome fic which I recommend! Nath finds out her new identity so he becomes tied up in it all, he’s the only one who knows so he becomes who she feeds on. "I can pay you. What do you want? A thousand euros per night? The latest drawing tablets? A gallery showing? Publishing deal? Just help me." Right from the start she feeds off from his neck despite his hesitance. She goes "a wrist? Are you kidding me? I settle for nothing but the best." But the reality is she just wants to feel close to someone, one time the bite turns into a hug crying session. -"... Does that mean my blood is the tastiest?" She’s shaken at that, "That- was *not* what I was implying. It’s not like I would know, anyways." She huffs n looks away. "Your blood is... satisfactory." He smirks, from her, that’s a huge compliment. He can just hear it in his mind "My taste buds are only the most refined!! I can tolerate only but the best!!" She does tell him he’s sweaty n stinks the first time tho. He has to hide his neck bite, ppl tease him about hickeys. At some point a classmate figures out it’s chloe that gives him his hickeys and Nath has to damage control and people start sussing they’re a couple.

No lullaby: No one liked her, but she could dream, couldn’t she? The delusions she lulled herself to had never really been dreams, but maybe to reborn anew she could find a lullaby in someone new, too. // based on the song No Lullaby by Siamés. Also La la la by Jason Chen Akuma that calls itself Lullaby, it was made because they have to move away from their parents or smth like that, so it lashes out and makes all kinds of kiddy & wholesome parenthood stuff. It turns people into happy kids/babies by tapping into childhood memories of parents(something like that), but doesn’t affect Chloe. Because Chloe never had her parents be around much, or them being much like parents at all. Chloe is fighting as Queen Bee, of course, in an AU where people know who she is but Ladybug still trusts her to want not to smear her family name by being a bad superhero. "I could be a superhero and my mother still wouldn’t blink my way... Oh, sorry, that actually happened, not much for an hypothetical." Everyone stares at her in shock. "What? I can have a smart vocabulary!" People look at her with pity and sympathy. "T-that’s not it..." Chat says. Anyways they’re fighting it and a lot of other miraculous holders get hit and she does too but is immune bc it taps into their happy parents childhood memories, meanwhile it’s only able to conjure up her plushie for her. Anyways so she gets swinged up to a rooftop where Nathaniel is sitting and drawing Queen Bee, he jolts and goes "Q-quee-Chloe?" but they don’t have much time since the akuma comes swinging in too and gets Nath under its spell. She carries around baby!Nath around because for some reason she feels a sort of duty to people she knows irl. She goes to the building the other holders are in or something but still ends up alone with Nath since everyone got affected, she panics as her miraculous beeps and she’s alone to fix everything, but Nathaniel draws with his fine art colored pencils like kids use crayons and does tons of kiddy imaginative drawings, and starts humming, bringing her out of her torpor. As the tune calms her, she does a “what would Ladybug do?”, "Ugh, I could have used Evillustrator right about now." She strategizes on how to break the spell over Ladybug for purification, and goes in to break the akuma item holder. When Nathaniel comes to, he’s mad to have ruined his pencils, now with blunt deformed tips, but then he looks at his sketchbook in utter confusion he sees pages and pages of kid’s drawings, recognizing his own infantile style, but the most curious are that some drawings include Queen Bee. His feelings are conflicted and he wants to know what happened, but dreads asking her, but he laughs at a drawing of him pulling her ponytail, and stills at the one of her hugging him. End notes: Next time Queen Bee gets swung onto his rooftops by an akuma, Nath jolts but responds to that adrenaline by crossing his leg over his other knee and raising an eyebrow over half-lidded eyes: "Somehow, I’m not surprised." You know, like sometimes when people flirt as fight or flight response lmao.

22/2/‘23 Chloe was trying really hard to be kind like a true superhero now, and with the birthday of her classmate Nathaniel coming up she would have to, painstakingly, do everything in her power to give him the best gift ever. One problem is, she doesn’t really know him, like, at all. She asks him what he likes. She thinks of supherhero stuff and art stuff. She doesn’t know about drawing tablets so she’s like, what about this professional drawing desk I’ll have my bodyguard carry? As if everyone has the privilege to have the space for a new furniture on a whim. She asks Sabrina for help like this close to a meltdown, maybe even Marinette: "The fool was in love with you, don’t you know anything about him that could help??" And then at the end shes like "omg. I can get him an interview with Queen Bee!" Ooh does she get akumatized with some gifter gimmick? Would be neat but naaah. Maybe two parts, idk what the end should be! Copic markers maybe

Now that I'm thinking about it I don't do a lot of sunset duo stuff. Mainly because writing Mikey stuff makes me want to rip my hair out but also cause the fic never calls for it.

I do enjoy the duo but I have a harder time working with the amount the show gave us so I have to bullshit a little more.

But I do feel like Mikey would tell raph about the portal first, confide in the big bro and whatnot.

And I think raph would like lose his shit not because of Mikey might die, but because he can't find a way to help the burden.

The title of the fic derived directly from a song / anime ost. Sooo expect me to add in the song link as well in the fic format (Anyone's who's interested in taking in the fic while listening to the song, may enjoy)

The song's lyrics are sneaked in between random paragraphs, each lyric correlating to the paragraphs above them. I coded them in a gradient color too just so nobody would get confused. (Tbh, i didn't plan out the storyline to be based off of the lyrics, but before i uploaded the song, when i checked the lyrics i realised it fits rlly well, so i decided to go with this plan)

I think I might have asked before, but you mentioned that Ethan’s name isn’t the same one he used in RC. Can you tell us what it is or is that a spoiler?

I'm not sure if anyone's asked explicitly before but this has definitely been referenced in other asks haha... Yes, Ethan's birth name isn't Ethan---it's the name he assumed when he left RC. Conversely, and hilariously, the names he refers to the rest of his family with in his head are their birth names--their current legal names are different, (for example, not rlly much of a spoiler, Delia's legal name is Dahlia Winters, but her birth name is Delia). The rest of Ethan's family has comfortably conceptualized they have a "home" name and an "outside"/legal name and they're different, or that they just have two names, but Ethan's out here doing 5-d chess with himself where he refers to his family with their RC names in his head because those are their "true" named, but staunchly only ever goes by Ethan because god forbid he ever unpack his personal trauma. "RC wasn't real," he says to himself, proceeds to never explain to his wife why he calls his mom-aunt Delia instead of Dahlia, her literal legal name.

I've been holding onto Ethan's birth name for funsies but it's not really a major plot spoiler in that like... it doesn't affect anything and Ethan's not secretly some other canon character or something. It's just like...important as a symbol of his fractured identity. I guess to sate curious minds while maintaining my illusions I'll put it under a cut and it's up to people if they want to learn it now or organically in the fic...

Ethan's birth name is Ian. He was born Ian Rosenberg, and took on the name Ethan after they left RC. His entire family picked relatively close names to their birth names for ease of learning to respond to them (esp bc three of them were kids and this shit is hard for kids).

For people who are doubly curious, Michael's legal name is simply Mike (Michael was his birth middle name that he went by to differentiate from his father, as he was a Jr., so he got away with keeping a variant of his og name). Ava's is Ana, or Eva, or Eve, or Anne, or something else, depending on who you ask (legally though she's Ana Winters haha).

the only way that i had to describe it after finishing chap.1 was

"its written by a human yet it is so beyond my human comprehension i literally didnt understand anything at all yet i understood everything at the same time and i love it" i dunno its weird to put what i felt into words. i think kirby has a terrible time is so accurate, so much so i'd say its an understatement and terrible doesnt make it justice to what the silly goes trough

originally this were gonna be two drawings, this the first, and another one of fluff dissapointed, but uh, i fucked up the second one and i couldnt salvage it. so he died i guess, i was thinking about end of chap3 and beggining of chap4, basically "were going to be wed my darling fian- what do you mean by what."

ive been suffering from a case of the shaynse brainrot again but its not serious enough for me to write another fic (ive written three so far on ao3, ill let u guess which ones lol) so the only other way of dumping my dumb shaynse thots was writing smth here

anygay, the new maury episode?? (no real spoilers below but i guess a small warning is needed) first of all, shayne really woke up and decided to serve mantits that day with his fit

second, contrary to what ppl might think from reading my horny smut fics, i dont think of shayne as a particularly horny person BUT every once in a while he will make an extremely sexual joke and act very dumb himbo about it (usually i love it even if it gets a lil gross or childish)

but the hot ball joke with the usual glances towards chanse felt like really bad flirting?? bc i dont think shayne would ever straight up hit on anyone. i think hes polite enough and also conscious of not wanting to make anyone too uncomfortable to not allow himself to act too risque UNLESS he makes it conpletely clear its a silly joke

and that joke felt like it was purposely st00pid to not only make chanse laugh but also very lowkey flirt with him??

I just have so many questions that i want you to answer some are maybe about ur yandere series, my queen, and the angel enhypen series ( so many questions T - T )

1 quetion is how did you come up with the idea of making the yandere route series like for heeseung and jungwon and the other members etc the plots for each member really fascinates me a lot!!)

2.for my queen series i realized that in the beginning it seemed so that jake was a very important charachter and i persume is the person who wanted the dukes daughters painting to stay in the castle is he the member with the biggest connection to the MC or is it someone else???

3. For the my angel series what fascinates me is gow powerful the mc is i so wanna know her backstory and how shes nuch more powerful than the enhypen members and also makes them tempted to be seduced by her.

omg hiii ♠️ anonnie !! <3 and wow omg thank you for all of these it makes me rlly happy!! i would rlly love to answer of them but since most of the stories r pretty new, my answers will prob be short to avoid potential spoilers !!

1) for the yandere series and it's routes, the ideas pretty much came from what i prefer from yanderes cuz i read ALOTTT of yandere fics for many years alrd lol, but most of them never rlly satisfies my own imagination for yanderes but that's okay! also i added some of my personal traits/interests for the plot. but if we have to be a bit specific for a single route, specifically route 1: then the inspirations mainly came from my awful past, and second -> the anime mirai nikki for the ideas of texting + phone. route 2 is like an outlet for my artistic side, plus jungwon is my muse so it all blends perfectly.

2) i can't seem to guess why u said jake when i haven't mention him anywhere in the teasers or the first episode T_T do u mean jay tho? but to answer the next question, i have to say that the entire story for my queen is a little complex and vast, and there are multiples route for each event that i haven't decided which one to go through yet. but for now, i can probably say yes.

3) well, for MC's backstory.. the first episode might be able to suffice your curiosity enough because there will be a glimpse of her past before she became a succubus. but what i can say for now is that of course, it ends on a tragic note. but it's also the reason why she became so powerful in the end anyways.

A Moment to Talk

SPOILERS FOR VOL7 CHAPTER 8

set just after weiss and willow’s interaction, and weiss is just about to watch the video of jacques and watts, but is interrupted by ruby. this got a bit angsty actually which wasnt my original intention but lol. i ship whiterose romantically, but i guess you can take this piece as any way you want with those two. just something i hope happens next chapter, or you know.. they just have a moment to talk AT ANY POINT in the future. anyway i hope you enjoy this little thing :)

“Who are you?”

Her rhetorical question lingered in the air as she stared at the scroll in her hand, a frown etched on her lips at the image. She clicked play on the video, the sound of the door clicking shut behind her mother lingering in her ears. The experience of seeing her mother again, after all this time, was overwhelming to say the least. She couldn’t deny that it left her a bit disoriented, and she predicted that whatever was contained in this video was going to contribute more to that feeling.

It began with her father sitting alone, at his desk. It was silent for a long time, and all she could hear was her own breathing and the clock ticking on the wall. But then there was another noise, definitely not from the video, because it crackled in her ear. and on instinct she paused the video and jumped, startled.

“Weiss? Weiss? Are you okay?”

Ruby.

Weiss let out a relieved breath, before pressing her finger to her ear, tuning in to the line of communication.

“I’m fine.” Weiss replied.

“Okay... That’s good.” Ruby said, and Weiss glanced down to the floor. She bit her lip as Ruby continued. “I know this is hard to do, and I’m sorry you went alone. I feel bad...” Ruby’s voice trailed off, and Weiss felt a pang in her heart. She allowed the corner of lip to quirk up, though, and she sighed.

“No need to. I understand this is important for everyone.” Weiss said. There was a pause in their communication, and Weiss raised a scarred eyebrow, before Ruby’s voice came back, a bit breathless this time.

“Sorry about that! Yang is... Having a bit too much fun with the idea of breaking stuff.” Ruby said, and the huff at the end of her remark caused Weiss to let out a laugh. She rolled her eyes fondly, fingers fiddling with the scroll in her hand.

“Frankly, I don’t blame her.” Weiss said, and the giggle she got from Ruby was pretty worth it.

“When that woman threw her wine on your brother’s head, he looked like a very angry grape.” Ruby commented, and Weiss bit her lip to keep her laughter in check, but Ruby cackling in her ear was making it more difficult.

She ended up humming in agreement.

There was another pause, before she heard Ruby sigh through the communication line, and her brow furrowed.

“Hey, Weiss...” Ruby mumbled, and Weiss raised her eyebrow again, a ball of worry in her stomach.

“Ruby?” She said, and Ruby sighed again.

“I know you’re... Physically okay, but if you’re, you know, not... Hm...” She was fumbling, trying not to say something out of place. But Weiss understood what she was going to get to, and part of her felt the urge to mention her mother right then and there, and mention what had happened between them just before. But, the other part of her... Felt like it wasn’t the best time.

“Ruby...” Weiss said softly, and she heard a hum in her ear. Weiss chewed on her lip and sat down on one of the comfortable chairs in the room, glancing at the door to make sure she still had time. She looked down at the scroll in her hand. “Don’t worry, I’m..” Weiss thought for a second, compiling the words she wanted to say. “It’s been difficult, and not just for me. But... Sometimes, you just have to get by.”

She heard a disapproving sound from the other line.

“Weiss, that’s not- you can’t... Brush it aside, like that.” Her voice grew soft, and Weiss narrowed her eyes a bit.  “... Are you sure you’re okay?” Ruby asked again, but this time, Weiss knew it wasn’t about her physical safety. It was a deeper question this time, and Weiss felt that pull again, to spill everything to her partner- her best friend. Which, maturing over the years with Ruby as her closest friend, she had grown more accustomed to opening up, and she would usually find herself with the comfort of a soft red cloak over her shoulders and understanding silver eyes. But, in Atlas, times were tougher, and time was limited. They barely had time anymore, and Weiss didn’t like it at all. But, as she said, sometimes you just get by.

“I will be.” She replied, and she heard Ruby sigh again. It was a gentle sound, and Weiss felt like she could hear all of Ruby’s worries and exhaustion in that single noise.

“You can... Say if you aren’t okay, you know.” Ruby said, and Weiss bit on her bottom lip.

“I know.” Was all she said, and it went quiet soon after that. This wasn’t exactly the conversation they needed to be having at that moment, and it was random and out of place and Weiss wondered what even prompted Ruby to bring any of this up. It was odd, and it nagged at the back of her mind, but instead of voicing all of these things, when she heard another shaky breath from Ruby, she felt a duty to her partner to ask her something. “Ruby...”

A hum in acknowledgement. Weiss looked down.

“Are... You okay?”

She heard a low chuckle, but it didn’t sound all that cheery or humorous. It sounded a bit darker, and she figured she wasn’t exactly supposed to hear it, but she didn’t comment on it. Instead, she waited patiently in the silence, wondering if Ruby had given up on the conversation altogether until her small voice returned once more.

“I don’t think I know what being okay means anymore.” Ruby said, and Weiss blinked, immediate concern settling in her stomach as she stood up from her chair. She was ready to march right back to the main foyer and ask her up front what the hell that even meant.

“Ruby-”

“Weiss.” Ruby cut her off, and normally she would be just as fondly annoyed at her as usual for doing that, but her heart was too busy picking up speed with worry to care about that. She waited another moment.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know what that was about.” Suddenly, Ruby’s quirky, cheerful voice was back, and Weiss blinked again, in confusion. “Of course I’m okay.” Ruby said, and she frowned. She found her eyes travelling to the big portrait of her father hanging in the room. It made her feel sick, her stomach twisting in a way that wasn’t healthy. She sighed shakily and glanced down to her scroll again, before clearing her throat.

“You can say if you’re not okay, you know.” Weiss said, and when Ruby fell silent, she knew she had tripped her up a little bit with echoing her words back at her. Weiss looked to the door, before sighing and crinkling her brow.

“I, um.. I think I have something.” Weiss continued on, the prolonged silence not doing well with her anxiety of the situation. Ruby hummed, intrigued.

“What is it?” She asked, a more serious tone taking over this time.

“A video.” Weiss stated, licking her lips as she stared at where she paused it, the door just about to open on the screen. “I haven’t watched it fully, but... I thought you should know. I’ll show you all when I make it back to you.”

“Okay, good.” Ruby replied. Weiss waited a few seconds, wondering if she was going to say anything else. When there was nothing said, Weiss nodded to herself, sighing lightly.

“I’ll update you when I’m on my way back.” Weiss declared, and just as she was about to pull her finger away and focus on the video again, Ruby piped up.

“Weiss?”

Weiss sat back down on the comfortable, fluffy cushion of the chair again, then stared straight ahead at the wall.

“Yes?” Weiss said.

“Hurry back, please.” Ruby said, and Weiss was about to scoff playfully, but before she could reply, Ruby spoke up again, voice much softer and gentler. “Let me know if you need anything. Even if I’m not there, I’m always... There you know?”

At first, Weiss didn’t know. It was an odd form of speech, and Weiss was going to exasperatedly say she didn’t understand anything she just said, and for her to quit being so cryptic about everything. But when she heard the shaky breath through the line of communication, and into her ear, which she again suspected wasn’t meant to happen, she understood. She could read between the lines quite well, sometimes.

“In your heart, in your soul, wherever you need me to be.”

Weiss slumped back into the chair, her one hand lowering the scroll to her thigh and then placing her hand on the armrest, eyes glued to it as she thought of what to say back.

Finally, she found the words.

“I know.” Weiss said. “I know, Ruby.”

It was only a few words, but the weight of them weren’t lost on either of them. She could hear through Ruby’s voice that she was now smiling.

“Good.” Ruby said. “And Weiss?”

“Hm?”

“Maybe... Er, I hope, maybe at some point, we can talk. Like we used to.” Ruby sounded sad, now, and it suddenly made a bit more sense to Weiss why Ruby started this conversation to begin with.

She missed her.

Weiss pressed her head back into the chair, gazing up at the ceiling. Ruby had started speaking again.

“I’m sorry we haven’t, and, ah, I know... Being here is hard on you. I hope you know I appreciate everything you’ve done- We all do, and I just-”

“Ruby.” Weiss interrupted her, cutting off the beginnings of this rant. Weiss sighed and closed her eyes, then opened them and rolled her head to the side, gazing at the wall. Her mind strayed to the room close to this one, with the family portraits hung up. She thought of her mother’s painting- young and fair and beautiful. And then her grandfather's painting, with a flowing red cape behind him and shiny, silver armour. Weiss blinked at herself, at the image of that painting in her mind.

She realised she had taken too long to continue her thought, as Ruby’s voice pushed her out of her thoughts.

“Uh, Weiss? What happened?” Ruby asked, and Weiss puffed out a breath, smiling a little at her concern.

“Nothing, sorry.” She said. “I was just saying... Ruby, it’s okay. Things haven’t exactly been... Ideal for us to have a moment alone, to talk about things.” Weiss’ heart pricked at Ruby’s solemn hum in agreement, and the sadness suddenly washed over her as well at how much she missed her too, even though she was only a few halls away from her. She knew in her heart, though, that she didn’t mean physically missing her.

Weiss cleared her throat gently. “We’ll find time, I’m sure. And, it’s just like you said...” Weiss’ voice turned softer, and at the back of her mind she could imagine Ruby calling her ‘Nice Weiss’, like when she made her coffee the way she always liked it. She thought of her grandfather’s portrait again, mind lingering on the red cape around his shoulders. A soft smile bloomed on her face. “Even if you’re not here, you’re still... Here. And for now, that’s enough.”

Ruby was quiet for a minute, before Weiss heard her let out a breathy chuckle.

“Exactly.” She said, and after a brief pause, she said, “Come back quickly, then. Remember to let any of us know if you need anything. Or if some baddies show up.”

“I will.” Weiss said, letting out a small laugh despite trying to hide it when Ruby said ‘baddies’. She picked up the scroll from her thigh again, ready to end the communication and press play.

“Stay safe.” Ruby said, and with that, Weiss heard the line go dead in her ear. Weiss sighed and pulled her finger away, twisting her wrist a couple times due to the cramp in it. She then held the scroll in both her hands, and with one final glance to the door, she pressed play.

She would find her team, later, and tell them all about Watts and her father in that video. But at another time, in the shadows of night and warm, cosy blankets on her bunk, she’d tell Ruby who gave her the video. Who she met that night. Because she knew Ruby would understand the most.

When that moment comes, she knows she can count on her partner to be there. 

And they’ll both be okay, in the end.

hmmmmmmmmm 22 and 18 for chapter # game

okay so 18 correlates to chapter 7 of rhythm. it is titled lemon boy, and the lyrics for the summary goeth thusly:

it’s a really fun chapter bc it’s basically the whole bakusquad hanging out, but because of the obvious complicated situation of “who knows who knows what” there’s just nervous sweating everywhere. like, remember that one time i showed you that relationship chart with all the things blacked out for spoilers? situations like these are why i made that chart

22 is moment chapter 14, and it’s named after never look away by vienna teng and a summary that goes:

If you’re out there in the cold… I want your warm bright eyes To come back to me And hold on to me You know I won’t lie I will never look away

and now i really like this chapter title and stuff bc it has a double meaning that references one of the Big Things that happens that makes kaminari kinda lose faith in his ability to win jirou over that doesn’t get revealed until the middle of the tour arc later on, but it's the first of several things that changes their whole dynamic for months.

So I have a confession to make: I haven't played ToT for a whole week now. I'm kinda scared to go back in because of the new event, (the Christmas one) because I'm afraid I won't finish it in time but at the same time I don't want to miss out on it so I have just been sitting in this limbo.

I think I maybe burned out because I finished everything? So the only thing I looked forward to were the events (some of the events were brilliant, some not so much) and in my opinion, they aren't spaced apart enough for me to enjoy them. I play this game for the story so when there isn't much of it, it's hard to just even log in daily - keeping in mind I haven't missed a single day since I got the game.

I really hope we get new main and character stories soon because I can't see myself being interested enough?

I'm genuinely lost because I absolutely love this game!

I don't know, these are just my ramblings.

I'm 👌 this close to sending you angst about Luke dumping Marius and Aaron accidentally telling the NXX team about Luke's condition 😅

ooooohhh i can relate to this sentiment!! i havent stopped playing but i deffo feel a big mood at "events coming in too fast to enjoy them" like yep yep. im STILL processing luke bday and now theres xmas partyland!! before that, i was STILL processing symphony of the night and then RRG part 1 happened gbsdjkgsd

tho if it's any consolation, the current event Xmas Partyland doesnt have any event plot like Symphony of the Night or RRG. it's just a boardgame thing, like Summer Breeze!!!

also not sure if i u kno but it seems tot wants the global server to catch up to the cn server (i talk about it here and here) so that global wont stay 1 year behind cn server forever. this has pros (more stuff at a faster pace) but also cons (MORE STUFF AT A FASTER PACE, IT'S HARD TO KEEP UP, also it's fuckin up some of the relationship development espeeeeecially mc and marius hoo boy)

based on the cn server, we should be getting the Personal Story 3 AND Main Story 6 installments in February of next year, 2022 (the pvs for them for the cn server was released at that time, 2021), but again, with how tot wants global to catch up, who knows if we're gonna get it earlier.

i'd REALLY LOVE IT EARLIER. i want the main and personal stuff earlier and the events a liiiiittle bit more spaced out bc tbh, i can only write so much so fast to respond to it all HAHA (im enjoying myself, yes, but im close to collapsing at the end of every day so UH)

anyway, if ur excited for more story already, i guess one solution is to watch/read translation of cn server content!!! ofc only if u want, i used to be somebody who didnt want Any Future Spoilers At All, but then luke pearce happened and now im in shambles, i know what happens in future personal story, im in pain SO MUCH PAIN BUT ALSO it rlly bolstered my excitement a bunch, if that makes sense?

Hmm. Hmmmmmmm. I am not sure. To me, I identify most with whoever I'm writing the POV for at the time 😂😂. But I guess maybe Kirishima? If u know me well u know I'm almost agressively wholesome ldkfjksdf so I vibe with him.

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?

Angstiest idea? Def the end to 'Twisted Soul'. It was inspired by smth that meta writer Pikahlua had thoughts about and I wanted to write it... so i did. A whole 40k fic just to get to that one point but it was fun 😂 If u don't care about spoilers for the fic, it's essentially Izuku being possessed by AFO but only after Izuku had given in to hate, allowing space for AFO to control him. Was v fun to write and see people's screams at me after 😂😂.

N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?

There's an idea I had recently of Izuku being stuck in a time loop where the only other person aware of the looping is Shigaraki Tomura and they end up having to work together to get out. I rlly like the idea but ahhh I have far too many wips I need to work on, but I rlly wanna read someone do it sdkfjskdf. I just love heroes having to work with villains to solve something, it is my vibe but also time loops be hard to write 😅 they need a lot of planning and I'm lazy as heck.
