So hypothetically did you have anything in particular in mind for what Porsche’s spider-phoenix suit looks like?
I DO!! There are three other Spider-people in this fic but only Porsche has been revealed so far :)
The Spider-Phoenix suit is inspired by Miles Morales suit, with the color scheme is Black, Red and an accent of Gold.
His shoulders are red, the color follows his clavicle and stops at the bottom of his sternum. His hands + the soles of his feet are also red. The joint in his elbows has a thin line of red.
The body of the suit is black. The webbing pattern spans his upper body (head, arms and chest) and below his knees. The webbing has a layer of gold, so it shines when the light hits right.
The spider logo is of course, a spider. The legs are very angular, 3 bends in each set. It has a pair of (also angular) pinchers. (Modeled after the Brown Recluse spider)

Seeing characters in romance stories just jetting between countries at a moment's notice with no thought for visa; seeing airports as sites of triumphant climaxes and romantic denouements instead of places of fear and danger where a sword hangs above your head— it all breaks off little pieces of my heart. They're constant reminders that my people will never be human enough in the colonial world order to be allowed to move freely around it. No matter what your race, those non-refugees living in the Global North will never understand what it's like to be part of a global ghetto where your passport is nothing but a trembling supplication and humiliation.

list of aus i think fit soapghost perfectly and want to read but am too lazy/busy/whatever to write
parent ghost x teacher soap. ghost leaves the military after his nephew ends up orphaned, and ends up falling in love with his teacher, who is very dramatic and very lovely and oh god hes so cute
another alternative is where they are BOTH parents. ghost who took in his nephew, and soap who ended up with a kid one way or another. their kids end up loving eachother, so they have to keep interacting - a bit of forced proximity where they end up falling for one another
tattoo artist soap x flower shop owner ghost. soap who works across the street and works every day to see this highly tattooed and gruff man work in the flower shop. he goes in at least once a week to buy flowers (and talk to simon, of course, it's just an excuse). simon who thinks soap is annoying to begin with but begins to fall in love with him, but also WHY is he buying so many flowers?? hello??
alternatively, tattoo artist soap x piercer ghost. no i will not be elaborating (ghost with piercings is so real to me)
au where the 141 has to disband for various reasons and each member goes their own way. they try to keep in contact but life ends up getting in the way. price brings in the 141 to reunite after so many years apart, and both simon and johnny have to cope with their feelings reigniting - are they ready to let each other go after so long? probably not!
physical therapist ghost x injured soap after las almas. price has insisted he sees a physical therapist for his arm. soap initially complains until he meets the man - and now he's head over heels. when his injury begins to heal, he has to find a way to work up the courage to ask simon out (and possibly fake still being injured in order to work that courage up, hehe)
firefighter ghost x an extremely unlucky soap. a soap whos a civilian that always ends up accidentally in danger - car crash? yep. house fire? yep. it's all worthwhile when he finds the firefighter extremely handsome, even underneath that facemask... maybe he brings cookies over to the fire station, a snack to show his gratitude, and things blossom from there
medic soap x soldier ghost. soap who's there to - physically - help simon heal through his injuries several times throughout his life, after roba, then after various missions, etc. both of them end up falling in love with one another after a long amount of time... a good mixture of fluff and angst
bartender ghost x military soap. ghost who works in a bar most frequented by the military bc of its close proximity to base, and soap, who should be an annoyance, but he really does enjoy his presence the more they get to know one another.
famous soap x bodyguard ghost. im sure this has been done but oh what a good trope. fans keep theorizing over the mysterious skull man whos always at soaps side, who soap keeps smiling all fondly over. ghost whos gruff abt this dramatic man to begin with but ends up falling head over heels in love with him.
nextdoor neighbour au where soap and ghost, you guessed it, live next to eachother. maybe ghost is agoraphobic, he struggles with leaving the house - maybe he's a writer, so he never really has to - and soap moves in, runs into him a few times, and is determined to get to know him. fluff - and some angst - ensues
chance first meeting au where soap has a dog who's normally very good, but for some reason today is insisting on running up to the cute jogger he normally sees run through the park. it's love at first sight when the jogger - ghost - crouches down and offers him a treat, because apparently he keeps a whole pocket of treats just in case he sees any animals who want them. they end up running into eachother near enough every day, and begin to fall for eachother.

Hrmm... put together a roommates quiz finally after years of thinking it would be an interesting idea lol.. Though obviously not meant to be taken super seriously, I just like thinking about this aspect of personality compatibility. Like yeah, maybe you could get along with someone just chatting with them, but living together is such a different thing. .. curiouse...
#Not that I think that many people would really care since I barely know anyone on tumblr in real life and would never live with random#internet strangers lol but... idk.. I made this to give to friends from time to time and thought... why not post it here too#just out of sheer curiosity if anyone takes it what the most common results would be and etc.#My initial assumption is that most people would probably fall into the 'maybe' category and that either extreme of 'best roomates'#and 'worst roomates' would be the least common#very long also since I like to be thorough I guess#THOUGH... upon second thought... tumblr is home of the like Weird Introverts Who Sit Inside All The Time.. so maybe it's more#likely to come across compatible poeple on here. given that many of the questions are about how meticulous#people are with their scehdules or how often they invite friends over or if they like to mostly stay inside etc.#(since personally I think having a roommate coming and going and bringing random people over all the time would be too chaotic#lol... I need a peaceful quiet household)#Also I kind of don't like the way uquiz seems to do results. I was hoping it would be a number tally? I used some sort of quiz making site#before where you weight the question responses with a number (so the 'Best' response is worth a 0#The worst is worth like 5 points. and all the in between are like 1 - 4 points or something). So then it is actually possible to have a#''perfect score'' category (someone who gets a literal 0 points). and also you could weight some EXTREMELY bad answers#to add like +10 to the score instead of just +5. And someone who got the MAX possible points would be the WORST compatibility. etc.#But uquiz seems to just be like ''which category did you score towards the MOST'. So someone can give some pretty bad answers#that are VERY non compatible. but as long as MOST of their answers landed in a 'compatible' category#then they would still be listed as compatible despite still actually having some dealbreakers in there. Which is also possible with the#'every answer is a number amount' ranking system too. but I feel like that one does allow for a little more customization#and accuracy (like making the dealbreakers add like...+40 to the score or something so that#there's basically NO way that someone could answer with one of those and still get a good score. Or the ability to have a literal#'perfect score' (getting a zero) etc.#BUt anyway lol... inchresting.. inchresting... curious to consider maybe making a uquiz#for the characters in the gameI'm making like.. which npc are you type quiz or something#now that I've made one and seen how it works.. hrmm hrmm....#(< game will not even be done for like another year but still thinking about nonsense like this lol)

Do you have specific fiction authors that you like to read? What aspects of a story make you want to really dig your fingers in it? Is it horror?
I’ve got a couple! Keigo Higashino for sure. anything Naoki Urasawa does: I will be reading it. Priest (Guardian and Mo Du are all time favorites). also KJ Charles and Andrew A Smith!
ngl I don’t really have a concrete list of favorite fiction writers, I spent several days thinking about this one: like, I have favorite books for sure, but I don’t often find myself considering an author to be a favorite just because their book blew my mind. I’ve only read three of Andrew A Smith’s works, but he’s here because he gave an interview years that changed my entire approach to storytelling, and I still revisit it whenever I start editing a story.
honestly the big thing is that I like character!! I like compelling characters (extremely varied definition of compelling, it doesn’t have to be much, but it does have to have something) I like it when something goes full throttle into whatever it wants to be. I’ll watch a slow paced slice of life romance with the same amount of enthusiasm that I had for Devil Judge, and the 1vs10 beat down in Ipman takes up just as much space in my brain as the ‘let’s not see each other from now on,’ breakup in the Heirs (but for extremely different reasons lmao)
however. if I have to pick something more thematically specific: I like seeing people in power get what they have coming to them, I like explorations and confrontations of political and social injustices. kingdom is one of my favorite shows, and the horror is great, but it was the political-class-power aspect of it that solidified it as a memorable watch to me. kamen rider build did something fundamental to the circuitry of my brain. etc.

finished reading "tell me I'm worthless," which was an interesting experience. I think there's something really good for you in your soul to be able to understand the genre conventions you're in and the kinds of structures and language and character that can be explored in these genres. I think about how people tend to -- with fiction about marginalisation and/or about people who are marginalised as a blanket whole, regardless of the story -- operate on a checklist of dos and donts, but mainly donts: don't ever tell us a deadname, don't ever use these "problematic" words to describe them/or have them describe themselves in this way, don't ever describe negative emotions or "problematic" emotions, don't let the characters have harmful traits (either towards themselves or others), don't hurt your characters at all actually, don't make your characters politically uncomfortable or "problematically" complicated in their political outlook and/or journey, don't make your characters be assholes ever, certainly don't traumatise your characters, and under no circumstance do you kill your characters!
which of course, this book does praaaactically every one of these things, thank goodness

'once a week or more' well rip
my default state of being when i'm not having a bad day is a little tired & nursing a budding headache. i have a headache right now that i'm ignoring
is this going to be another of those 'there is no such thing as a 'mild' concussion, if you hit your head bad enough to black out it is a concussion' lmao???
i get headaches from fucking everything. weather/air pressure (low and high). low/high blood sugar or too rapid changes there. too bright/dim light (at home i am specific about my lights/curtains at different points of the day/depending on how bright it's outside to avoid these). rapid repetitive/jarring physical motions (just jumping a little can be enough/make it worse). muscle tension. doing stretching/exercise that gets blood really flowing. lack of and/or bad sleep, or too much sleep. getting (strongly) emotional. caffeine (a new exiting one! only started regularly drinking coffee fairly recently. how much caffeine is too much is a fucking mystery though). i should wear glasses (myopia, not too severe) but i avoid it unless i need to see that far that well in part bc the glasses pressing on my temples give me headaches more easily than my eyes being slightly tired does.
i'm probably forgetting a bunch more
but every time i've seen people describe migraines i've thought well mine aren't anywhere near that severe/those specific kinds of headaches so No Way it's that
but. i do have other symptoms on that list? i just never thought it might be related to my headaches bc i'd not seen those mentioned, at least not in a way that i could identify as something i should consider in connection to this, and there's always the huge stress that migraines are always extra super bad to the point that a Real migraine completely disables you for a while. while to me it's. it's annoying, it hurts, if it's particularly bad it can make things more difficult but not impossible/near impossible; just, a general It's Not That Bad, therefore normal and i should just deal with it

I have tabs open for the CR online shop and I still really want to get something to commemorate FCG, along with a couple other items I've had my eyes on for over a year. and yet. I stare. I mentally debate. should I get any of the things. did I do enough to justify getting the things. am I considering getting too many things weighed against the number of productive tasks and achievements I've done.
and it makes me realize I do this for a lot of other things, not just CR or fandom stuff. constantly question every single purchase I make, especially if it's for any kind of personal enjoyment (even if it's necessary, like food). part of it is to combat the #ADHD Impulsivity, to make sure I don't go crazy with spending, but I also know another part of it still stems from a self-loathing/low self-esteem standpoint.
...and you know, I think that little aeormaton therapy cleric would want me to push back and allow myself to enjoy things without needing to justify if I deserve it at every single checkpoint.

Preternatural abilities -- of the non-psychological variety -- afforded to the Walrider’s Host include, but are not limited to:
Enhanced Strength / Stamina: The inherent strength of the nanites comprising the physical aspect of the Walrider allows for a reinforced musculoskeletal system of its Host. Combined with similarly reinforced cardiovascular processes, the Host is capable of extreme physical strength and stamina beyond typical human capacity.
Shielding: A similar effect of the aforementioned musculoskeletal reinforcement. The nanites are essentially able to create internal armor that protects the Host from most any manner of damage -- though cosmetic or temporary damage may result from lack of anticipation / preparation for incoming threats. External shielding is also possible, and could possibly protect third parties from damage below a certain threshold.
Healing: Increased healing factor due to nanite presence in the bloodstream. The nanites can act as or bolster the activity of all three major types of blood cells to promote fast healing. Surface level wounds can be healed near instantaneously. Deeper or internal wounds require more time, but are still repaired at a miraculous rate. Third parties can benefit from the nanties acting as a temporary bandage / splint / etc. for injuries, but without the Host connection they will not heal outside the capabilities of their own body. Notably, the Host’s blood is thick and nearly black due to the replication and shedding of nanites.
Reduced Physiological Needs: As with just about every other bodily function, nanite-enhanced metabolic processes have all but rendered the need for things like food and sleep obsolete. However, increased but non-symbiotic Swarm activity -- i.e. when the Host is ‘fighting it’ -- has a tendency to spike these needs dramatically.
Telekinesis: External manifestation of the Swarm allows the Host to manipulate objects at a distance. Objects -- including people -- may be moved, thrown, destroyed, etc. Thus far this has largely been a destructive action. Maximum distance and size limits for objects is unknown.
Electrokinesis / Electronic Manipulation: Due to the electromagnetic nature of the nanites, the Walrider is able to manipulate electricity and electronics. Currents can be reduced or cut completely, and power surges can also be generated. Computers, phones, and similar devices can be hacked remotely. Such devices will often experience effects similar to magnet exposure in the presence of an ‘active’ Swarm -- memory corruption / deletion, screen distortion, etc. -- even if they aren’t the direct target of the nanites.
Levitation: A result of the Swarm’s ability to manifest externally in the same way that allows for telekinetic abilities. The Host’s body can float and move completely off the ground, limited only by his persistent fear of heights.
Note: the limitations of these abilities have not been well documented due to lack of testing, and general reluctance of the current Host to experiment. Side effects of overexertion in any capacity have included migraines, body aches, confusion and disorientation, extreme fatigue and hunger, and the drainage of dark and viscous blood from the nose / mouth / eyes. This is likely due to resistance in the Swarm-Host connection. A more harmonious symbiosis could potentially reduce negative side effects.

Send me 💡 and my muse will tell yours what ability they think fits yours!

"Cute Charm, in an unconventional kind of way. You just make such a nice impression on people, Em." Khare chuckled while slipping them a cookie fresh from the kitchen. She still felt bad about accidentally raising her voice in their vicinity the other night and causing their ears hurt but thankfully Em didn't seem to hold a grudge about the incident!

God i'm cruising through world 1 lol it's by no means hard ofc, especially when you compare this to the bonus and multiplayer levels in terms of difficulty, but after you have so much knowledge of the game's mechanics and how each character/enemy type behave, it becomes so satisfying to speedrun through the levels so many turns below the S-rank requirement
