“you didn’t have to wait for me…” you say, sliding into the passenger seat. “i texted—”

“you texted you ‘might be late’.” anton’s hands stay steady on the wheel, switching gears and stepping on the gas pedal to start moving. his eyes on the road. “it’s fine. i just figured you’d let me know if you wanted a ride an hour later.” 

you flinch a little, eyebrows furrowed as you glance at him. “it wasn’t on purpose. the talk dragged on a little, that’s why i told you i’ll call you when i’m finished.” 

anton exhales through his nose, not quite a sigh but… “mm.” 

you swallow, shifting awkwardly in your seat. your fingers playing with the hem of your dress. “i… didn’t know you’ve arrived early... i said i might be late.”

“and i said i’d pick you up.” the traffic light turns red. you hear anton’s fingertips tapping absentmindedly against the steering wheel. “it’s okay.” he says, smiling at you. not a big one—just that tight curve of his lips he often does. the kind that really means ‘you should feel bad’. 

the silence that follows is heavy. much like the weight on your heart is. 

you look out the window. “you could’ve gone home…” your murmur, almost like a peace offering, a guilt-ridden one.

“i could’ve,” he echoes sweetly, tilting his head slightly while waiting for the countdown of the traffic light to turn green. “but you’d hate that. what kind of boyfriend would i be if i let my girlfriend get home by herself?” 

the way anton says it… you stare at him, lips parting—then closing again. there’s a tightness in your throat you can’t name. he says it so lovingly but his actions say otherwise. in this car, his hand is gripping the wheel tight, and his other one rests near the gearshirt. his profile lit by the red glow of the traffic light doesn’t help.

“‘m sorry,” you murmur softly, sinking back into the carseat with your arms crossed. you don’t even know what you’re apologising for, but feel the need to without thinking twice. 

maybe an apology for being late… for making him wait.

maybe an apology for making him talk like that—say things like that—with that soft disappointment in his voice that makes you feel bad…

but this isn't about you.

anton doesn’t answer right away. the car hums low and smooth over asphalt. you keep your eyes on the side mirror. then you feel it—his fingers tapping against your knee.

“it’s okay,” he finally says. “i know how you get. you tend to be a little forgetful when you’re having fun with your friends. i don’t mean to make you feel bad.” 

you blink, whipping your head towards him with a slight crease between your brows. what—? what is that supposed to mean? you didn’t mean to have fun while making anton wait… in the car.

“i wasn’t—” you begin, but stop almost immediately. you had just apologised. 

“that’s why i didn’t text again,” he adds casually. “i didn’t wanna interrupt your good time.” 

you freeze—then look away. because arguing would make it worse. and because the last thing you want tonight is for that soft voice to go cold. and that radio silence for days. 

“you’ve eaten there, right?” he asks, like nothing happened. his hand pulls away. “but i bought those dumplings from that restaurant you really like,” he smirks, letting out a soft hum. “we can eat them together—because i sure am hungry after waiting all this time.”

Alistair is having a grand time with his newfound sentience. He's been learning to play the harpsichord in the throne room, relaxing in the sauna (even though I'm fairly certain he lacks the ability to sweat), delving into Ivy's yaoi collection with Kwahu as a reading-buddy, and never straying too far from the luxury that is the Jones boys' coffee stash.

Of course, he is still the same old hardworking Alistair, and his efforts have paid off in the form of our brand-new android colonist! Everybody, meet Cora!!

She's very cute :3

Unlike Alistair, Cora has been programmed with an exceptional shooting ability, as well as plant skill instead of his crafting skill. She will be our hunter/gatherer mostly, and I'm very excited to see where the story takes her!!

Hello! I've been relooking at all the RoseKnights stuff, and I gotta say, I am going to make an oc in your world! (If that's okay)

Anyway! I kinda wanted to ask a question that I didn't see answered yet!

May I please be enlightened with what colours are strong with what part of magic like is green or red really good at healing, or purple being the best at creating the most wood? That kind of stuff!

And bonus ask, how much can the green dragon dude (sorry I forgor their name) shapeshift? And what things can he not do?

The way my brain jerked wide awake and instantly kicked into Drawing Mode when I saw this ask was insanely trippy and also OF COURSE you can make ocs for the RK world!! If you want!!!! (that is more than okay! Anybody can do it if they are inspired!!!) BUT OKAY you asked the big question! So Allow me to enlighten you on the basic stats of the 7 major Rose colors!!

These aren't hard facts, they're just the common strengths and weaknesses found in every major color! Reds are the "perfect average", while Blacks and Whites are opposite ends of the spectrum. Every other color falls somewhere between those 3 tbh XD The lighter/paler color you are, the better your healing and magic production is! but at the cost of having much weaker wood that can't hurt dragons as much. If you've got a darker color, your weapons become more unbreakable but if you lose a limb or die you'll take a lot longer to regrow back to full health.

And here we have a bonus: Green Roses! Their magic is very unpredictable and nobody can judge how good you're gonna be in any skill if they look at your color/tone. Whether you got more Rose magic or Dragon magic is entirely random and each individual is different. As an example, George can shapeshift his height or teeth a little, and he can give his energy to others. He doesn't have any of the classic Rose powers. But other Green Roses might be able to create green wood or come back from the dead by themselves! SO YEAH!!!! I hope this was a good beginner's guide to Rose Magic! It's not perfect or final, but this is my current theory and I'm sticking with it! XD

25 hermits and 2 bonus days (26 cosplays, 1 writing!) later, it's done! It's a little surreal, in all honesty. Back at the end of March doing this felt like a pipe dream, but when I sat down and planned it I decided "You know what? Screw it, this sounds fun." And I can say it really was! It also gave me the oppurtunity to learn a whole lot about cosplay techniques and try out new materials I never have before, which was super insightful for me :D

I have so many people to thank for helping me out this month, but firstly a massive thanks to Mod Luna & Mod Sky for their amazing work in putting HADM together! Both of them are truly the strongest soliders, and their encouragement has done a lot for me this month!!(donate to their HADM fundraiser here!) And also a huge thanks to all my friends like @anonymous-blob, @basil-the-bulbasaur, @enderguard, and so many more not actively on tumblr that collabed with me, helped take pictures, or plainly just offered so much encouragement that really pushed me to make art that I was proud of <3

Depending on your physique and athleticism, you are either keeping pace with Sydney or they run too fast and you fall or something. It's funny and they fuss over you after the fact because you could have gotten hurt. The more corrupt they are, the more likely they are to laugh at you before helping.

Robin will try to keep pace with you no matter how fast or slow you are. Please don't outrun them they will make the saddest most sopping wet cat face at you.
