ok so. people who know anything about sewing. see the bra top (?? which is what im going to call it for lack of better term) below
im going to make it out of the same stretchy fabric that the leggings are made of (viscose spandex) but im wondering how to make it that shape??? ive made a more structured bodice like (A) before but the fabric was obviously much stiffer. would this kind of patterning be useless with the stretchy fabric? or would you use a stiff fabric as a base layer and just put a layer of the stretchy fabric over it...
or am i overcomplicating it and (B) would work just fine???

My probably-bad college student confession is that I actually kind of love being in a deadbeat project group where I'm the only one pulling any weight. Like, YES. PLEASE. Surrender control to me. Let me ensure we all pass this. Do the bare minimum, I don't fucking care, as long as I can make sure we all pass this assignment. I'd much rather be in control (albeit control everyone else shoved on me, and they're lucky I'm happy about this) and pulling everyone else along than be stuck in a power struggle where everyone wants control and to assign shit and to argue about it endlessly.

some things about chiyo’s mha au 💜
given that her quirk is most useful if you don’t know she’s coming, chiyo’s career consisted of covert operations and more delicate situations. these assignments were, ofc, pretty stressful and part of the reason chiyo needed a break; however, the defining reason she chose to teach at u.a. is an incident involving an old classmate of hers. i'll get more into this later after i brainstorm more!
chiyo’s hero uniform has a utility belt that carries smoke bombs, an extending bo staff, and whatever else she can fit within it ( typically things that can be used for traps and distractions ). what she can carry is limited bc if the belt were any larger, it would be difficult for the material to react to her quirk like the rest of her suit.
i'm still brainstorming how i want her suit to look, but it's likely form-fitting/skintight because adding extra material just isn't practical and could cause complications? that's my line of thinking, at least uvu
chiyo went through vigorous training during her first year so that come her second year at u.a., she could join the hero course. she got her wish :’ ) and made quite impression, too!
her mentor was quite the character, subjecting her to training exercises that chiyo calls " cruel and unusual, " but she never elaborates bc she's really just messing around. truthfully, chiyo's mentor didn't let her give up, pushed her beyond her limits bc those limits were just doubts. the training was actually kinda intense, considering chiyo needed to catch up with classmates way ahead of her, but it's exactly what she needed.
does chiyo take after her mentor a bit?? yes asdfg chiyo's a kind teacher, but she's a tough one when she needs to be. no slacking off or going easy even if you pout about it!!
something to note is that chiyo is good at disappearing not just bc of her quirk but bc she's trained so much, too. her steps are silent or close to it; she's well-aware how to use background noise to her advantage, knows the best places to set traps; overall, she's honed the other skills that are vital for sneaking around to the point that she'd be good at it even without her quirk.
that's all for now bc i'm getting tired uvu

In my constant brain rotations of “why are people in the west so hard on mecha aside from the fandom can be a bit unfriendly” I think one thing I realized as much as I hate to say is how mecha is sometimes treated remind me of the constant hatred superhero stuff gets.
It’s such a weird comparison because with mecha I do not know what the root of it was-and I’d love to know why but I feel there’s either no clear answer or there is one and it’s stupid-where as for superheroes in the west while there’s still a dedicated community the mainstream audiences have become tired of them due to over-saturation, which I understand, but it’s caused such a massive dismal to the entire genre of it much like mecha.
People think superhero stories can’t have any substance because it’s all about fighting and not about the characters- yet forget the SIGNIFICANT impact they had to so much pop culture. How superhero stories were rooted within comic popularity, how superheroes inspired countless of stories, even so far as reaching japan since so much early anime was taken off of western media which birthed its own genre of superheroes. It’s no different to how mecha help started up the anime industry making it one of the most important genres to japans history, yet most people don’t know it and belittle it.
Yet in superhero story cases it’s even WORSE when people are against it yet then go to see one superhero movie because it’s animated and put it on a pedestal and don’t bother to try other superhero content even though they consumed is no different from the norm. It’s the exact same shit when people watch eva and then think all other mechas don’t compare to it, when the genre always had darker, mature and emotional elements, just only a select few decide to canter to a audience who doesn’t even accept what genre it’s from which makes it all the more frustrating to deal with.
I’m someone who’s hardly into superhero stuff even if some of it catches my eye but it sucks to see that the situation is pretty identical to how mecha is seen, that I can’t help to feel sympathetic whenever I see some comic book fans upset at the mainstream audience even if they too can be a little hostile.

time passes and i reset but whenever i come back to it i remember why before you hit the ground by ducky-san is my fav nm fic. sure its in first person. not my fav thing in fanfic but i can tolerate it. yuka is SO terrible in it but i give this fic a pass for it (they also do my boy hayate dirty) bc i love the rest of the fic enough to forgive it. mikan gets dragged into things bc shes stupid. SPOT On. most of the danger she gets into? entirely bc shes like "im curious abt natsume even tho i dont like him" RIDICULOUS. she makes me cringe SO OFTEN i love it. i need more cringefail women out there and before you hit the ground mikan and bridget jones are carrying that genre on their backs. whenever i start reading it i just get so wrapped up in it--it always ends up becoming a binge read. this fic is so important to me ive got it bookmarked on my browser so i can read whenever i feel the whim come up.
