How Nahdakan is written weirdly predatory (Sorta Essay)

TW: Discussion of sexual predators and their behavior this might get rough.

(If I’m missing any content warnings please let me know. Please check if you are ok to hear this before reading. Though knowing signs of predators can be helpful. Will warn you this might ruin his character for you)

You absolutely can Ignore this aspect of him and love him as a villain! Don’t be guilty, It’s fiction you’re allowed to do that! (Please don’t attack anyone who likes him)

However If you’re like me this may explain some of your repressed Skybound feelings.

Nadakhan always unsettled me, even back when I was 12 and watched it for the first time. I loved Skybound then, even though the wishes didn’t make sense and the misogyny pissed me off (still dose). But I’ve rewatched it quite a bit, and as an adult know exactly why It made me feel like that.

Nahdakan as he is in the show displays many signs of being a sexual predator. (Not just cause Nya). And in my opinion they should have written him differently.

It might sound like a surprising allegation at first but to many adults I know in the fandom, It’s not much of a hot take. But I wanted to compile the evidence in one place so I wouldn’t have to reexplain this.

What’s a Predator?

A sexual predator is a person who seeks out sexual contact with another person in a predatory or abusive manner. People who are sexual predators may or may not have committed sex crimes but all sexual predators have sought out inappropriate contact.

Those who exploit others in a sexual manner they see sex as a form of dominance and control.

Vile enough to make someone wish it all away.

Now I’m not saying Nadakhan definitely did something or he’s for sure a predator. But I am saying for some reason he displays common traits of these kinds of people.

Seeks Out Vulnerable Individuals:

Profiling suggests sexual predators often target vulnerable individuals who are more likely to be victimized or overcome due to their age, lack of knowledge, or emotional or mental capacity.

This is the very talked about part but Nya is 15-17 Jay and the ninja are vaguely 16-18. Nadakhan is like thousands of years old. Which makes the plot creepy. But other than the fact that he’s messing with teenagers he preys on their emotional vulnerability.

Think of the first scene with him and Jay. He watches from afar Nya was alone too but he saw how hurt Jay was and targeted him.

Same thing later, when he was distressed about being adopted.

Grooming Behavior:

A predator may seek to groom the person by establishing their trust to facilitate abuse, such as spending excessive time with them or singling them out, or giving gifts.

All of Nahdakan’s kindness is a trap, He talks about his wishes like he’s giving them something and helping them. He is with the ninja as soon as and as long as they’re alone.

Speaking about himself in terms of what he can gift others. Obviously leaving out the wishes consequences.

Evasion and Secrecy:

On the topic of singling them out, sexual predators will often hide their actions and keep it private to not revealing their activity.

Nadakhan waits till they are alone to prey on them. Or teleports the ninja away like he did with Kai.

After Nahdakan gives Jay his wishes he doesn’t tell anyone. His guilt and shame from accepting Nadakhan’s offer keeps their secret. (Just so you know if an old man pulls you aside and starts gifting you shit tell someone.)

And Nahdakan doesn’t talk to his crew about his plans for Nya at all, he keeps it to himself.

Manipulative and Controlling:

Sexual predators use their personalities to flatter, course, and control others around them and utilize deception. Predators may insult victim and use gaslighting tactics to make them believe that they are at fault.

This one is very straightforward manipulation is his thing. But here’s a few.

- Manipulates Jay into making his first and second wish

- Manipulates Kai and Zane into his blade

- Expresses very controlling behavior over Jay as his prisoner.

- And grossly controlling of Nya Literally with magic later on.

Sadism

As a quick note Nadakhan messes with Jay a lot and seems delighted by his suffering. From physically, trying to intimidate, jumping out to scare him, causing emotional harm to just straight up torture in scrap n tap. And he’s SO pleased by it.

Ignoring Physical Boundaries

Sexual Predators overstep boundaries, this may be seen as a harmless touch on the back, hand, or leg. But it can progress to unwelcome contact and unwanted sexual advances.

THIS is the most obvious and damning evidence I have. He Does NOT respect personal space. The Djinn’s so fucking touchy it makes me nauseous. Here’s some examples but his body language during all his scenes is like this.

I think what you're envisioning is how Tim would prefer to tell the story (I honestly think he was ready to take the plunge at the end of season 4/start of season 5 with the will + "gay panic", but y'no. Not his call.), but because Repressed Eddie or Canon Buddie isn't a possibility for now, he's going to write scenes in a way that can be seen as "proof" by the fandom while the general audience thinks he's just a concerned friend. I'm going to assume the only person in the firefam who might have an inkling of Buck's attraction to men is Maddie, being his sister and all. Hen is a close second, especially with how much more time they've spent together on screen. ("I was just waiting for you to say something first.") So when Eddie finds out, or has it suggested to him? He's probably going to be taken aback. The GA will read it as him wondering if he did anything to make Buck feel like he couldn't be honest. The fandom will read it as Eddie questioning everything he thought he knew, wondering if he would have ever been an option for Buck had he said something sooner. (Did he miss his chance?) Same goes for a hypothetical Eddie and Tommy scene after the truth is out. Eddie giving Tommy a bit of a side-eye, analyzing him differently now that he's dating Eddie's best friend and not just helping on a call? The GA: "LOL. And then maybe, possibly, down the line when Canon Buddie can be #confirmed, little moments like these will be reexamined and reexplained to support Eddie always having strong feelings for Buck, but never allowing himself to fully unpack what it meant because it never felt like the right time. Not the same person obv but I have moon 7H atmk so I’ll just say my experience

I spend a lot of time thinking about my friends, although it’s hard to tell what the normal amount is bc I can only speak for myself. I’m not someone who comes off as really relationship dependent and I wouldn’t say I’m a doormat or anything like that, but I am quite emotionally invested in my friends/peers. Everything I see reminds me of someone I know and I’m the type to message them about it even if we haven’t spoken in a long time.

Something I have in common with my cap moon 7H bestie is that we spend a LOT of time on Instagram/tumblr/discord/etc talking to people. We used to joke about how she literally didn’t have any hobbies aside texting her friends 😭

If you haven’t already noticed🤪 I also spend a lot of time talking to people online partially because I struggle to do things without guidance. At school I was always that person who would ask their friends for help with homework because I needed to have stuff reexplained to me personally before I understood. As a result, if I’m in a situation where I’m not close with anyone I can have a really hard time. A lot of the time it’s just awkward to not have someone to confide in, but it’s also has been really detrimental to my mental health in the past. Idk if that’s a 7H thing or I’m just a dumbass though😭

Although I will say that we have the ability to have a very varied social group since we are very adaptive to the people around us. Usually not in a massive social group (which I think is more 11H territory) but moreso besties from many different places we’ve picked up along the way. One-on-one relationships are wayyy more important than what the general masses think or other non-social stuff like career ambitions. Kind of like being people oriented without being that society oriented? (Unless there are other 11H placements) I mean society in terms of people your age in your area rather than humanitarian stuff btw

We’re also the type to be really subconsciously influenced by our friends, which I guess applies to everyone to an extent but the idea of “you are who you surround yourself with” does make me think of 7Hers more than anyone else.

I think when they get into relationships (writing this message has made me realise the shear amount of 7H moons I know) they are very devoted even if they’re otherwise a casual non-clingy person. I have a Uttaraashada sun, Purvaashada moon, Ardra asc friend who was always more of a casual independent person who could have sex without getting attached, but now she has a bf, she spends most of her time with him and it’s clear that she’s very caring towards him, even if she doesn’t explicitly say it to us. She even wears a necklace with his initial on it everyday😭 (she’s way out of his league too but that’s a story for another time)

As for 8Hers, I’m not one myself but all the ones I’ve come across are really intense. A lot of them suffer from substance abuse, depression and/or have experienced some weird sexual stuff (I made an ask ageeesss ago talking about my hasta 8H friend who slept with her teacher at 17~18 and was groomed at a young age on a separate occasion- just to name a couple of the things she’s been through). Obv not every 8Her is going to be such an extreme case esp if they don’t have nodal influence, but universally I feel like these people def go through it on some level. Who knows maybe arm guy is hiding some serious lore👀

decided i don’t have the energy to formally reexplain mike’s coded language so i’m gonna ramble about it a little (a formatted post is here) but anyway

the attachment to the idea of playing games in mike’s basement being something mike heavily associated with will is well accepted but i never see people talking about the implications of it in regards to the events of season 3. like, we all know mike was projecting his own insecurities onto will in the rain fight, but you know what will does when mike asks if that was what will wanted? he says yes. those same things mike is trying to deny himself are the things will is saying he wants. he wants that too. he wants a life with mike too.

mike never really gets the chance to process what that means until after the byers initially move july 4th, but he immediately falls into that depressed state of refusing to leave his basement or his room. mike spends all his time playing videos games, practically overdosing on the wants he tried to force himself to move on from. he’s coming to the realization that no matter how hard he tries, he’s never gonna be able to pry this love he has for will out of him. it’s too deeply ingrained into who he is. i actually think that his isolation was him realizing he had fallen in love with will, that it wasn’t just a crush he’d could make go away.

what happens after that is that he gives up on trying to yank that part of himself out and accepts it, maybe not enough to stop hiding it but enough that he’s able to acknowledge that he’s gay and that he can reach out to play games and dnd again. he ends up meeting eddie who pulls him out of that depressive state with the hellfire club and giving mike the chance to play again and that connection between mike’s queerness and dnd grows even stronger as a result since eddie and the hellfire club are both heavily queer coded.

but it’s this idea that will reciprocated. that this thing that made mike realize he was in love with will, getting to actually experience a taste of what it would be like to play games for the rest of his life with will, even with how depressing the whole situation was, mike has to face the way that, on some level, he might not be alone in the way he feels. mike knows that he’s in love with will because of the time he’s had to really understand what he wanted and he’d fallen deep into that state of want to the point it was for the worse because will wasn’t actually there. through it all, mike had to have at least had some understanding that will might’ve liked him too. that, on top of meeting eddie and starting to really accept that piece of himself that he’d spent months and months trying to repress leads to the end of s3

at the end, mike reaches out to will and asks if he wanted to join another party. in the context of what that means for mike, knowing that mike has attached that sentiment to being in love, he’s not just asking if will is gonna move on. he’s asking if will still has those feelings, if that fight was too damning for will to hold onto that want to spend forever with mike. will, again, reciprocates. he says he isn’t moving on, that it was impossible for him to do so. in mike’s mind, will is saying he loves him too. it’s different from will’s perspective, but that’s part of how the whole miscommunication issue got so big in the first place. mike felt forced back into a relationship with el and later thought will was completely ignoring him because of the issues with the phone. mike was angry that will had been ignoring him, but i think a part of him felt guilt for the way he’d continued his relationship with will. not that he was expecting a relationship with will, but i think he had had hope at the end of s3 because of what will said. it wasn’t full blown confirmation but it was enough to feed into the possibility. it encouraged that dream, and then mike wasn’t able to follow up on it. but, mike’s romantic wants with will don’t come before their friendship so he was ultimately mad that will had been ignoring him (from his own pov) and it causes this huge misconception. mike has hope that his feelings might be returned and as soon as he has confirmation from el that she doesn’t love him either (from, el) he literally starts flirting with will. we see him get closer and closer to opening up, practically begging for will to understand without him having to actually say it and then the whole thing with the van happens (he knew) and i just

the way mike had actively been pursuing will is insane. we all joke about how mike was flirting but that’s literally what he was doing. he was testing the waters, seeing if will’s feelings were still there, seeing if there was still a chance. will has no reason to assume that’s what mike is doing, but mike assumes he has a shot. that’s why the miscommunication problem is so fucking big. all it would take is will being a little more selfish, thinking he could have something he wants for once and we probably could’ve had them together in s4. it drives me nuts how fucking close we were sometimes and how obvious mike was about it all. mike wasn’t just crushing, he was looking for a relationship there. will only saw the opportunity for being best friends again because he doesn’t know what mike went through after he left and was physically removed from the situation to make understanding that impossible but mike saw the opportunity for a real relationship with will and he tried but he wasn’t confident enough to be direct about it. they were both too shaky on their feet about their feelings and their identities to go further but it was right there

and when i miss school, i tell him why and he says okay ill see what i can do for your assignments, HE MARKS THEM AS ZEROS AND DROPS MY GRADE, but my friends can miss school bc they just don’t feel like it and he drops the assignment so they can keep their current grade until the assignment is complete. I look nothing like I used to, about 20 lbs lighter, eyes sunken in, cheeks starting to sink in, I don’t even recognize myself anymore. Old pictures make me feel dead inside bc I know that person is never coming back. And not a single person cares, no one even flinched, and as I’m watching myself literally waste away I’m constantly asked of favors 25/8 I haven’t ate lunch or dinner in months I’m not even sure how I’m still here. I’m so small now. I’ve got nothing left. Everything makes me nauseous and sick. I’m in pain sitting or standing. The only peace I get is taking a fucking piss and oh it’s constant the second I take a few sips oh gotta go again. I think even my body just wanna sustain itself anymore. Won’t hold onto anything. I miss having such an irreplicable bond, my other half, someone that just gets it so I don’t have to keep reexplaining everything with more and more detail bc apparently such grotesque vile events aren’t enough, people want more. It’s like you could say you’ve been raped and that’s not good enough they need to know that it was a stranger that you were beaten too that you couldn’t sleep or eat for months. Why ? Why do I need to tell you all the gritty parts ? You don’t understand how awful something is right off the bat, everyone’s so desensitized and begging for a struggle story that tragedies aren’t a tragedy unless it’s weighing on the void that was your soul. If you start to heal for a second suddenly it’s like nothing ever bad happened to you and if you smile even though you had a bad day it wasn’t really that bad… really ? Where’s the empathy, comprehension, or fucking awareness ?

“Rewriting” the NYSM movies, cause they make way more sense to me this way-

I have no idea if this is canon, half canon, I can’t tell. These movies are pretty crazy and I’ve watched this thing repeatedly. So this is me either adding things into the plot and/or changing/reexplaining the plot.

Now You See Me: The First Act

In this movie The Eye is still a very underground organization that lets very few pass. In this version Dylan Rhodes/Shrike is given a mission to officially join The Eye, he is tasked with creating a team that allows them to give back to the public. He ends up taking advantage of this and uses them to his benefit via the plan to frame Thaddeus Bradley. Alma Dray is sent to set this man straight and tell him to knock it off, maybe even telling the team to fake Jack’s death just to get to him. This sets up his feelings for movie 2, where he sets his priorities straight.

In the case with Bradley, since it’s revealed he was a partner to Lionel’s stuff in the end and Dylan never knew, I’d like to change the case to Lionel and Bradley trying to get into The Eye. They were granted a way in but Lionel had forgotten to tell Bradley which caused the continuation of Bradley exposing him entirely, ending the internship/apprenticeship with The Eye. Lionel and Bradley have a fight about it which causes little Dylan to get the idea of Bradley being a villain. Bradley is bitter towards The Eye for taking away their way in so they both plan his comeback, when this fails Bradley starts blaming himself entirely and Dylan grows up blaming him too. So when Dylan’s plan of revenge starts, I’d like to think Bradley thinks it’s The Eye punishing him for his mistakes after all, he did ‘murder’ a gifted magician. Bradley can’t tell anyone about The Eye since it’s so secretive and if he told, he’d be punished even harsher. Once it’s revealed Dylan masterminded it all, he’s truly shocked because he ended up causing the ball to roll and the whole thing to conspire in the first place. Maybe he even believes Dylan already leads The Eye or is so blinded by The Eye he follows any orders given.

Intermission:

Between the 1st and 2nd movie I’d like to thing they all buy the warehouse thats featured in the the second movie together. They want to turn it into a safe house for them and any other magicians that they come across, everyones being friendly and they’re just all buddies. After a while Dylan goes out more, he talks to them less and seems to be trying to figure out more stuff about his father and Alma is contacting him about how him and his team are doing. Henley ends up leaving because somehow she overhears Alma talk about how Dylan had been taking advantage of them and the two this massive argument with Dylan so she’s gone. Dylan doesn’t tell the rest of the team, because he fears they’ll ditch him too. (abandonment issues much?) Anyways, The Eye doesn’t tell him much except that they need to be closer in order to complete this next task, which is the 2nd movie.

(Also Alma works with The Eye, she’s like the representative for them, the one that talks to people about the missions. As much as I love her character, I feel during this time Dylan and Alma “break up” or decide that having a relationship in the midst of what they’re doing won’t work out, they end up good buddies tho!)

Now You See Me: The Second Act (WHICH SHOULD’VE BEEN NAMED ‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’)

The reason Dylan was moved to the NY precinct in the second movie is because they made him main manager for the Horsemen’s case, which he probably had to beg and plead for. This is why Cowan is on his tail most of the time and why he has a new boss. Dylan also brought in Lula on the recommendation of The Eye and she’s the one that’s the newest to The Eye stuff. The Eye sends them on the Octathingy mission which FAILS (losers) and they still get kidnapped. Love Chase lots but in my version he’s more serious about the whole thing, he still makes his jokes but it’s way more condescending and insulting. Meanwhile Bradley has figured out that Dylan is a Shrike and he flips out, he’s pacing and everything. During the intermission (before the second movie) I feel like The Eye emails him about testing Dylan to see where his head is at and to see if he’s actually grown, which is why he acts how he acts. Dylan still gets beat up, thrown into the water, and glug glug gluged but he lives so it’s all good.

The main difference is the ending, I feel Bradley explaining things so comfortably wasn’t the best way to go about it. They all go in and Bradley is just as amazed as the rest of the group. Bradley and Dylan find a wall of photos of almost all members of The Eye, living and deceased, kind of like a memorial. Bradley explains his story and tells him he decided that The Eye was not for him, and he’s given up trying to get in but The Eye has something else for them. *The staircase scene starts*

Notes I have while looking at the wiki and stuff:

Apparently Bradley was the leader of The Eye?! I don’t believe this, it makes no sense, and I hate that. He’s not part of the eye. I refuse it.

WHY IS THE EYE SO SMALL, YOU’VE GOT TWO ASIAN PEOPLE, A BRITISH MAN, AND ONE BLACK DUDE THAT MESSED WITH MY MAIN GUYS. WHAT HAPPENED TO HAVING ALL THESE REPRESENTATIVES AROUND THE WORLD????

It being named Now You See Me: The Second Act was stupid. THEY LITERALLY HAVE NOW YOU SEE ME: NOW YOU DON’T PLANNED-

Also in the movie I want the team to bully Daniel Radcliffe’s character more, it was the funniest thing watching them nonchalantly just drag him through the mud.

Ummmmm……😅 I’m not really sure if there was a scientific process or any logical thought behind how I picked each member’s subgender? Honestly, I just went off my gut and with what felt most right in the scenarios I created in my own head? If that makes sense?

It makes me happy that you think they’re accurate though! 💜 because I always love when characters in my writing reflect their true natures-whether in real life or in canon!

As far as Chan and (y/n), personally, as the author, I don’t think they’re any more compatible than any other members of the pack? I wouldn’t explicitly say that they’re more soulmates than anyone else, no. Are they moonmates? Yes. Does that link them a little more closely than others? Maybe. But it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re better soulmates, just means they’re a little more compatible with each other in some areas. Their wolves complement each other.

Take for example the fact that (y/n) actually formed a pack with hyunjin and changbin first out of anyone. Those are her boys-they’re all her boys-and being moonmates with Chan (and maybe innie, guess you’ll have to wait and see! 😉) doesn’t change that fact.

Do I think biologically, Chan and (y/n) are the best fit? Yes. Do I think if they were animals that their wolves would pick each other? Possibly.

But in the case of the pack, everyone is a soulmate to everyone. The moonmate pairings are just the pairings the wolves themselves have clung to a little more possessively for whatever reason-whether that be scent, or compatibility, or best biological choice.

Does this make sense? If it doesn’t, someone yell at me and make me reexplain please. 😂

Theory: Stanley Uris was Murdered.

Okay So TW because this post will touch on Stan's death ad the methods behind it

I propose that Stan Uris was murdered. by IT. In his home on that fateful night. I think that Stan posed the biggest threat to IT and therefore IT felt the need to take him out before the battle even started.

Allow me to explain.

Okay, so, I need to lay out some basic "rules" or "facts" before I make my case. They are as follows.

- IT planted it's roots in Derry, and finds it difficult to leave, but still can at it’s own wil.  If you read the book (I honestly don't blame you if you haven't) You'd know that once the Losers kill IT for the final time, Derry (the Physical town) is obliterated. Buildings explode, sinkholes appear, things are flooded. The town is in ruins by the time that the Losers leave the sewers. The movies don't adapt this so If this is news to you thats fine. the bottom line is that destroying IT destroys Derry, like ripping a tree out of the ground with all it's roots. Because of this, we can make the claim that while it can Leave Derry (as it does every 27 years) it probably takes tremandous amount of power to do so, which is why IT only goes when the cycle is over. Why does this matter? Well, what if IT left Derry to get to Stan? The murders had stopped for about a week when they're all in the Jade of the Orient. Plenty of time for IT to cross from Maine to Georgia. Side Note: We KNOW IT leaevs Maine to elsewhere in the world because of King's extended universe all interconnecting. it's not far off at all to make the claim that IT is the same evil that haunts, say The Shining's Overlook Hotel, which is in Colarado.

- IT is omnipresent This is also a given, IT lives everywhere, and can fuck with time and space in godlike (or maybe eldritch like) ways. in IT: Chapter Two, when Mike claims "IT Doesn't know I know what I know" he's unfortunately wrong, because we know that IT can be in A) Multiple places at once, B) can manipulate anything on the drop of a hat (See: Stan being teleported away from everyone else in Chapter One, Everything about Neibolt, etc) and C) Knows everyone's deep fears. This is further proven by IT Saying things like "Beep Beep Richie" (although this is Horribly Horribly executed in the films, ugh.) and so on and so forth. On top of all of this, We can make the claim that IT can exist outside of Time as well, given that IT is immortal. SO, what's stopping IT from Knowing Mike was going to call them all back (Espically considering that IT TOLD Mike to do this?). Even if we keep IT's omnipresence to the location that IT inhabits (in this case Derry) IT would still have knowledge of where the losers are through Mike. And if you take the Lucky Seven/Chosen Seven route (oh my god I got theories on that too) you could argue IT knows where they are inherently due to their cosmic status.

- Stan is the "most Powerful" loser So, obviously all the Loser's are powerful, espically considering they're the ones who Defeat IT (Again going on to the Lucky/Chosen Seven theory). This next claim is going to be less focused on what the 2019/2017 Movies do because they are Bad Movies and that's a whole other rant. However, in the book, Stan is (to my knowledge feel free to correct me on any of this) the only loser to Actively ward off and 'defeat' IT on his own without running away. He uses his belief in this what is Real (birds) to ward off what is "not real" (IT). The other losers do manage to take down IT in their own Right, but Stan is ultimately the one to Really get IT. This is because Stan's character revolves around Belief and Willpower. These are, in some form or another, the ways to Defeat IT. the ritual of Chud is a battle of Wills. in the book, Bill takes IT down and Eddie does the final blow. In the Remake (ugh) the losers can defeat it Technically using the belief that IT isn't as powerful as it claims because IT's "just a clown" (Ihatethatfuckingendingsomuchugh). Stan being much more skeptical than the rest of the group in his ability to understand Reality vs IT's illusions is a powermove, and IT knows that ability doesn't go away as Stan grows up, but rather he gets more powerful. Stan is the Only loser out of the 6 who left that has any sort of knowledge about IT, where the other losers have nothing. Bev has nightmares, yes, but she still forgets them. We're told in his chapter (Chapter 3, Six Phone Calls (1985), Part One: Stanley Uris Takes a Bath) that he has some hazy knowledge of his place in the Lucky Seven, and even goes so far as to MENTION it sometimes, even if he doesn't quite remember or understand any of it, his knowledge of IT and Derry is worlds more prominent than that of the rest of the losers.

(page 52 of IT:  "Stanley, nothing's wrong with your life!"  "I don't mean from inside." he said. "From inside is fine. I'm talking about outside. Something that should be over and isn't. I wake up frmo these dreams and think, 'My whole pleasent life has been nothing but the eye of some storm I don't understand.' I'm afraid. But then it just... fades. The way dreams do." OR  page 45: He had been smiling a little. Now the smile faltered, and for a moment he seemed puzzled. His eyes had darkened, as if he looked inward, consulting some interior device which ticked and whirred correctly but which, ultimately he understood no more than the average man understands the workings of the watch on his wrist. "The turtle couldn't help us," he said suddenly. he said that quite clearly.)

So, Stan has some cosmic knowledge of IT and Maturin and his role in the battle against It. What does any of this have to do with his death? Well, let me point out some other things about Stan's death that always stuck out to me. - His death chapter is narrated by his wife, Patty, rather than himself. The other chapters - almost all the other chapters - are narrated by their respective Loser (the caviot for this is Ben, but Ben is also wasted out of his damn mind so its understandable.) - Stan's personality is few and far between in the book, but we know he has a weird little sense of humour and that he's incredibly logical. I think that this logical part of him would be able to understand that Suicide is Never Ever the answer, and that it would cause FAR more problems than it would solve. (the 2019 movie tries to reexplain his death and it's crap and i hate the letters i hate the letters so much im gonna explode) The other losers try to rationalize his death by saying "He would rather Die Clean than Live Dirty (Page 506, Chapter 10, The Reunion, part 3, 'Ben Hanscom Gets Skinny') but he had already BEEN Dirty when he defeated IT the first time, and I think he would've recognized that. - upon finding him, Patty (in her narration) notes that Stan's head is bent back over the edge of the bathtub, so from his sight she would have been upside down. If Stan DID kill himself, why would he be positioned like that? It's unnatural, like someone Posed him. - the cuts on his arms are two length wise cuts. I'm no expert but.. that's suspicious. That's weird. - IT is written in blood on the wall. Why? Why would Stan right THAT of all things? You know who DOES like to paint with blood? IT.

Alright, returning to my thesis statement, Stanley Uris was murdered. Do I think Stan genuinely was going to take a bath at 7pm (which we're told is weird for him)? Yes. I think that's absolutely a thing he could have done or planned to do. Do I think he slit his wrists and commited suicide so he wouldn't go back to Derry? No. Not even remotely.

Let me paint a New Picture.

It's May 28th, 2016, or 1985. Stanley Uris gets a call from Mike Hanlon. Stan is incredibly hesitant to go to, and says he needs time to think about it. Or tht he'll try. He can feel the starts of a Panic attack, and as he's remembering the circles of Hell he went through as a child, he tries to hold himself together. He doesn't want his darling wife to see his break, so he says "I think I'll take a bath" and nothing else before going upstairs. he hides in the bathroom. He closes and locks the door, because, well, he's panicking. Locking doors is one of The Small things he does. Is it usually the bathroom door? no, but still (OCD is a bitch, and even with medication, but this is a special case). He looks in the mirror and tries to breathe. This is fine. He can do this. They killed IT once before and they can do it again. He thinks about his younger self, the promises made, and how he could explain all of this Patty in time to catch a flight to Maine. It's terrifying, but if his friends are going to bite the dust, he wants to be there with them, wedding vows be Damned. Then he looks at his reflection again. A younger, rotted version of himself stares back at him. IT crawls through the mirror. Stan freaks out, obviously. This isn't real. This Can't be real. But IT utilizes this notion against him. It digs it's claws into his arms, and forces him to bleed out in the bathtub. IT then sets the scene nicely. Razorblades on the counter, a bloody signature on the wall, a horrible posture of Stan's neck. So on and So forth. and then IT returns to Derry. IT's a little weak, yeah, but Stan is dead. That's what matters. the Lucky Seven has now Officially broken, and the balance shifts in favour of the clown.

So that's the theory. feel free to correct me on anything or engage I have plenty of theories on this story and I like discussing this stuff :).

This boy is baffled

Like he can't comprehend that you're unable to throw or catch things because of how natural the actions come to him

He looks at you weird and then tests you by lightly tossing a pen at you

He definitely thought you were lying or being over dramatic but he was proven wrong when you slapped the pen away from you mid air

Congratulations he has now made it his personal mission to teach you how to catch and throw things

Mei's actually a pretty good teacher? He's spent his entire childhood perfecting his pitching and catching skills so he's got some tips and tricks

Usually Mei is a little bratty and impatient when teaching people but he's the complete opposite with you

He's very gentle and always willing to reexplain things if you don't get them the first time

It's quite a sight to see one of the best pitchers in Japanese High School baseball tossing an old soccer ball (which he snagged from the schools equipment sheds) back and forth with his s/o

Eventually when you've become comfortable with catching and throwing larger items he will insist (force) you to try using a baseball and mitt

So here you are standing on an empty field with a spare glove from Inashiro's endless supply of sports equipment

Mei is absolutely ecstatic to have you start learning to play catch but you on the other hand are slightly terrified

There is a HUGE difference between catching a soccer ball and catching a baseball. Not to mention, soccer balls are generally softer than baseballs

Mei could tell you were a bit nervous so he reassured you he'd be throwing underhand and even went over to help you position your glove correctly

Any lingering confidence you had vanished the second Mei tossed the ball towards you and you quickly reverted to your old tactics of ducking out of the way, glove brought up to your face as a shield

Mei had a sick feeling in his stomach seeing you that afraid (by extension he thought you were afraid of him bc he was the one throwing the ball at you)

He made his way over to your huddled form and gently guided the glove away from your face

"Hey...we don't have to do this if you're not comfortable with it."

"Can we try one more time... please?"

Mei smiled at you and gave you a soft "Alright" in response, picking up the discarded baseball from the ground and went back to his spot

You were determined to catch the ball this time! You just had to commit and not run away

Mei tossed the ball towards you again making you fight the instincts kicking in. You quickly squeezed your eyes shut to prepare for the possibility of being hit in the face

But the impact never came. Instead the only thing you felt was a sudden weight in the glove on your hand

You slowly opened your eyes and stared down at the dusty, white sphere sitting snugly in your hand

When you looked up Mei was already running towards you, his arms wrapped around your waist the instant he was infront of you, the momentum making him spin you around as you both let out cheery laughs

"I'm so proud of you!! We'll have you catching my pitches in no time!"

"Ah maybe I should learn how to catch with my eyes open first"

I love Ryou but he thrives on teasing people

He will definitely toss you things on purpose once he discovers you struggle to catch things

He doesn't throw anything that could physically hurt you tho. He'd always make sure he throws soft things like a jacket or a bag of chips

Thinks it's sort of cute how you duck out of the way. Definitely gets a kick out of your reactions and he always has that annoying smirk plastered on his face

He'd maybe give you a few tips on catching and throwing things but I feel like he'd want something in return bc he's cheeky like that

It's a difficult task to get Ryousuke to laugh but if you throw something back at him and it just completely misses he's cracking up instantly

You were sitting on Ryou's bunk waiting for him to come back from getting you both drinks at the little vending machines around the Baseball dorms

You heard the door open and instantly turned towards it to welcome him back only for your entire body to go into a state of alarm at the sight of a pillow FLYING towards your face

Naturally you fling yourself out of the way as your instincts took over and once you're sure you're out of danger you look up to see your "sweet" boyfriend standing in the doorway with a small smile

"What the hell, Ryou! You can't just scare me like that!"

"It wouldn't be scary if you could catch."

The second those teasing words left his lips you reached for the pillow he threw and chucked it at him with all your strength

Except the pillow didn't go very far, instead of smacking him in the face like you had planned it flopped onto the floor at his feet

A snort of amusement left the boy followed by a clear laugh ringing throughout the room

"DONT LAUGH AT ME!"

"I can't help it when you pull cute things like that~"

Ryousuke walked forward and sat down next to you on his bunk then held out the drink he got you

As you reached out to take it from him he pulled his hand back and swooped forward to place a kiss on your lips

Haruichi

Haruichi wouldn't make a huge deal out of it

He'd understand that somethings come easier to others so there's absolutely no teasing from him

And unlike the other two he would never throw something at you

If he's giving you something he always makes it a point to safely hand the item to you

Sweet boy wouldn't even risk a light toss in fear of hitting you

He'd be willing to help you learn to get better at the actions but only if you asked, he wouldn't want to force anything on you

Now, just because Haruichi knew about your catching abilities (or lack there of) doesn't mean everyone else is aware

Which brings us to how Sawamura simultaneously gave you and Haruichi heart attacks :)

You were sitting in to watch the team practice on a particularly hot day so Haruichi asked Sawamura to give you a water bottle

"(y/n)! Catch!"

"Eijun-Kun wait-"

Poor Haruichi wasn't fast enough and watched in mild horror as his friend threw a water bottle at you

You looked up at the call of your name only for your mind and body to go straight into a state of panic

By some miracle (or perhaps your survival instincts) you ended up catching the water bottle!

Haruichi was rushing over to you spewing out apologies on Sawamura's behalf and checking to make sure you were ok

His worries diminished as he watched you jump around proudly stating that you caught something

(He then turned to his lovely friend Eijun and simply stated the words: "Don't ever do that again"😃🔪)
