"Im a bit nervous, Mikey. What if it gets awkward?" you say as you walk deeper into the seemingly endless tunnel, part of what had been a train system below New York. You had brought a flashlight with you, but it hardly lights up the next 6 feet in front of you. "It's going to be fine! If anything it might go too well. Next thing you know Dad is going to be showing you our baby pictures!" Mikey said as he walked behind you. Smiling and bringing his hands to his face in a "sleeping" position and imagining all the family movie nights you where going to be apart of. The flashlight began to flicker, didn't you just change out the batteries? Mikey noticed and spoke up "Don't worry, we're almost there" he said reassuringly. Sure enough, after about a minute you where already there. Mikey opened the door for you, remembering how Splinter had told him and his brothers to be on there best behavior.

You walk past, thanking him for holding the door. As soon as you step inside you are bombarded by Donnie and Raph who wanted to greet you. "I trust you had a pleasant walk here?" Donnie spoke elegantly, he was overdoing the whole "best behavior" thing a tad bit. Thankfully Raph spoke up, or rather, he whisper-yelled "too far, less polite" Donnie thought for a moment before speaking again "..was the walk here okay?" "I-" Before you could finish speaking you heard Leo's voice from what you assume to be the living room. "Y/n! We're over here!" There was clear excitement in his voice.

The brothers guided you to the living room.

Splinter

★ As stated before, he told his sons to be on there best behavior. And for the most part they listend, Sure there was a little argument about who got to sit next to you. But he could overlook that.

★ He was really excited to meet the person who took care of his sons before he did. You thought it would be a bit awkward but it was far from it. He is very polite and the two of you get along just fine.

★ Eventually you get to the part where you crap talk Draxum and let me tell you, it is therapeutic. Mikey is standing in the corner, probably wanting to say something but doesn't.

★ Afterwards he invites you over fairly often for family events. All his sons like you and from what he can tell, you seem like a good addition to there weird family.

★ Whenever something is going to be decided, say Leo got in trouble or a pizza toppings are being decided. Your opinion outweighs April and the turtles, he pretty much gives you the last word on most things.

★ She was exited to meet you because she really wanted to know how much each of the brothers cost. Kidding, kinda. She heard good things about you and wanted to meet you in person.

★ Definitely asks you to share some stories about when you had the boys as pets. Her favorite one is the time that you had to take all the dirt out of Mikey's enclosure and replace it with wood chips because he was eating the dirt for some reason?

★ You and her get along great, you are older than her by about 15-20 years considering you had the turtles as pets about 15 years ago judging by the turtles age. So you would be kinda like a cool aunt to her.

(bonus) Draxum

★ You met him (the second time) because Mikey wanted the two of you to try and get along. It was awkward, to say the least. Mikey had to sit between you and him as a social buffer to keep the two of you from getting into a fight.

★ To Mikey's credit, you probably would have decked him across the face if he hadn't. But could he really blame you?

Disney Prince x Princess Couples SWAP!!!

FYI: I'm ONLY counting official Princess couples, which ends with Anna being the last one with a canon love interest. So, there's no Merida, Elsa, Moana, or Raya. The goal for this was to have Prince x Princess crossover pairings ONLY.

Snow White x Eugene

Rapunzel is basically Modern-Day Snow White, and they have very similar Pure Hearts, the kind that can break down Eugene's walls. Snow White knows how to be firm when necessary, but her greatest strength is her unfailing kindness. Eugene would definitely reveal his deepest desires after sharing a cup of tea with Snow.

Cinderella x Adam (the Beast)

Picture this: Cinderella chooses to stay at the Beast's castle in exchange for her family (be it her dad, who is alive some versions of the fairytale, or her step-family, because she IS selfless enough to try to help them). She no longer has to work as a slave (though knowing her, she'd still damn well would try to help out), and she would assimilate easily into an Enchanted Castle's environment, and her gentleness and kindness, with juuuuust a bit more of a feisty backbone to confront the Beast's temper, would unravel the Beast's tangled heart.

Aurora x Eric

There are two things Phillip and Eric have in common: they both slayed the villain in an incredibly badass fashion, and they both are smitten with a mysterious voice. Eric is 1000% an homage to Prince Phillip's character, and you cannot tell me that he wouldn't fall head over heels in love with Mary Costa "Briar Rose's" gorgeous voice. (And let's be real, Aurora definitely has a Type lol)

Ariel x John Smith

Ariel wants to see the human world. John Smith wants to explore the "New World." You do the math. Okay, in all honesty, this is lowkey my least favorite pairing 😭 but when you take away the Awkward Historical Stuff, they do still??? kinda fit???? It's one thing for Ariel to go ashore the nearest human kingdom; it's another for her to actually EXPLORE the planet, with an equal adventurer by her side. (Originally, I paired her with Aladdin, but I found an equal, if not better partner for him below ^^")

Belle x Phillip

Here's a "Prince Charming" who takes names and kicks ass and would provide the adventure Belle wants so dearly. Also, I just want good things for Belle, so really, who wouldn't want Prince Slay-a-Dragon-Get-the-Girl Phillip???

Jasmine x Shang

Shang likes a woman who can kick his ass, whether physically or verbally, and Jasmine 1000% fits the bill. Also, she'd whip that Internalized Misogyny out of his system faster than you can say "I'll Make a Man Out of You" lol

Pocahontas x Kristoff

Look, they're both outdoorsy types, definitely prefer animals to people, and totally would take up rock climbing as a couple's activity. They're one of the few couples on this list that I did NOT change my mind on; they just fit, okay????

Look, Naveen has actual Game, and is NOT sinister like Hans, so he would EASILY sweep Anna off her feet, in the best way possible. But he wouldn't jump to marriage, and Elsa's Ice Queen presence would prevent him from, ah, moving things too fast lol ^^" Naveen, at the end of the day, is a supporter, not a leader, and that gives room for Anna to take the reins.

The Problem with Alignments

With me now playing a lot more DnD, I really want to talk about the Alignment System. Because on one hand I like it - but on the other hand there is a big problem with it.

Let me illustrate by telling you about my first experience with DnD (outside of Neverwinter Nights and the old Baldur's Gate games) was with a really bad DM. A DM who very well managed to make DnD very unfun. For one, because he insisted that we had to role for simple things like player interaction. But also... Because he kept telling us, what our characters would do. This did not only afflict me, but all players. But let me tell you about my experience.

I chose to play a true neutral wizard, who was a bit removed from humanity, after having lived as an hermit for several years. And this lead to the following constant interaction: "Oh, your character would not do that. Because he is true neutral character, so he will never pick a side."

Of course, this also betrays a very misunderstanding of what true neutral means within the game. And in general it is a shitty thing for a DM to just tell you how to play your character. But it also betrays the problem with the alignment and some people see it: As something that is prescriptive, rather than descriptive. Yes, it is supposed to give you some idea how your character might act - but in the end it is still your character.

Especially because... Actions in of themselves do not necessarily say something about good and bad.

Let me talk about my Tav from BG3 for this one. See, my Tav tends to go out of his way to leave people - including the bad guys, that I can get away with in this regard - alive, much to the annoyance of Astarion, who really wants to murder some people. xD In fact, my Tav will at times try to work with the bad guys - as long as it does not mean killing anyone. Which could mean he was somewhere along the neutral alignment. But that is actually not how I play him. I play him as a good person, who wants to do right by everyone. Someone, that thinks, that pretty much everyone has good in them and should be able to do good. Hence, he tries to get everyone to do good.

And stuff like that is very possible, of course. More so on an actual table (if you have a good DM), of course, than in a game where the developers really cannot predict every single player decision.

For example, you also could play an evil character, who is very much for letting everyone live, because he reasons that them living will lead to greater suffering for them.

But therein lies the issue. We often have these preformed notion on what good and evil are. And that often can lead to hempering the roleplay - especially with less experienced players.

And then there is the other issue. The issue that has probably been discussed to death already. And that is the thing about species being prescribed a certain alignment in general. We had that whole discussion about orcs, drow and the inherent racist implication of the "those are always evil" thing going on. Which is why this was of course removed by now, at least for player species. But... We still have this thing as a rule of thumb going for species that are generally not accessible to players.

Given my current Themberchaud obsession, let me take chromatic dragons as an example. In general red dragons are assumed to be evil. As in: it is their nature to be cruel and greedy and all of that. And I say... that makes for kinda shitty storytelling.

Because here is the thing: Even someone whose first instinct it is to do bad... can do good. In fact that makes for a lot of interesting character beats.

I actually think that this where BG3 really shines. Lae'zel and Astarion are both evil. But depending on how you interact with them they can both be good people by the end of the game. Yes, for Astarion doing bad and being cruel is kinda his first instinct - but he can actually act against that instinct. And that is actually what makes him such a compelling character.

And that kinda is my issue with the alignment chart. Yes, you can make such compelling stories - but I also know that a lot of people that are inexperienced roleplayers will take their chosen alignment as a form of gospel and then just never have the character challenge it.

Which is really what I see as an issue there. Because... Well, given that we know and want characters to have a development... Why not just abandon the alignment chart?

Hey! As far as I understand, in the US you guys have to do an undergraduate degree before doing law school. Do you have any opinion on what Matt would’ve taken at undergrad?

Also I just want to say that I really love your writing and your posts are genuinely making me consider a career path that I’d never thought about before! I’d always sort of dismissed being a lawyer because I’m quite shy about public speaking, so I never really thought about how much I like the law in itself. It’s so interesting!

EEEEEEEEE this is exciting! The world needs more lawyers - especially more lawyers going into it for the right reasons. So many lawyers just care about the money or the power (or their parents' approval), which means there's a dire need for lawyers who want to help people.

And I just wanna say: law doesn't require public speaking. Criminal law kinda does (you're pretty much always showing up for hearings and trials in criminal law), but civil law...not so much. Civil law has some hearings and depositions, but very few civil cases go to trial. The vast majority of it is sitting at a desk, writing and researching. Although you do have to be able to meet with victims and witnesses, and that makes some people nervous. (That still makes me nervous, actually.) But it's not public speaking, I think?

You could also try to be a full-time law clerk. Most judges hire clerks for only a year or two, but some take on clerks permanently. As a clerk, your job is 100% research and writing and preparing documents. You get all the fun of making brilliant legal points, but you can make those points safely on paper without having to stand up and present them.

However, I also do believe that public speaking is a skill, not just some natural talent. So I think it's always possible to get better. Here are my two absolute favorite resources on public speaking:

This amazing youtube channel (which isn't specifically for public speaking, but does address public speaking sometimes, and has a ton of general tips for building confidence, overcoming nervousness, turning awkwardness into charisma, etc.); and

This lifesaving book (which is the best book I've read on public speaking, hands-down, and I highly recommend it even for people who aren't lawyers because although it's written for lawyers, the content is overall about how you approach public speaking [how to both feel and appear more confident, etc.] rather than the content of what you're saying. I literally love this book so much!)

Oh, you also asked about Matt. XD

My undergrad was political science, so I like the idea of Matt doing the same just because #relatable. But I don't actually think of him as a poli-sci guy. Like, Karen is the one who's more concerned with broad social structures. Matt seems more interested with figuring out what he's supposed to do than he is with figuring out what society is supposed to do. Matt seems to say: "The system is broken, but I can help as a lawyer, and where I can't help as a lawyer, I can help as a vigilante." He's not the one invested in uncovering corruption or dismantling oppressive systems.

I think of him as more like a history guy. Partly because of the Thurgood Marshall thing. But I imagine him digging into the history books, finding people who inspire him, and modeling his life after them (when he's not angsting about whether he could live up to them).

That said, I secretly ADORE the idea of Matt as a math major. My mock trial coach in high school tried to convince me to be a math major myself, and although I didn't go that route (I'm more like Karen; I wanted to research social and political issues), there's a lot of wisdom to it. Math is logic, after all. And it's pure logic.

If I say "a + b = c," there's no emotion there. But if I say something like "police + poverty = ____" ...y'all already are having an emotional reaction, right? And you're filling in the blank with something. You're likely filling the blanks in based on emotion and anecdotes, since I think most of us have a strong opinion about this, but most of us probably haven't done a deep statistical study into the issues.

As a lawyer, if you care about truth, it's absolutely vital to be able to use logic both to make your arguments and to figure out which arguments you should be making in the first place. We can't completely ditch our personal biases, but I do believe studying math helps work those parts of your brain that can analyze a problem with logic and without using emotion and anecdotes as a shortcut.

So yeah, I love the idea of Matt being good at math.

i am in love. you've infected both me and my sister with your brainrot and captivating fics, we've talked about it non-stop the past few days, so naturally we have some questions.

But first, i want to ask what your boundaries are w/ fanart and writing. i've already drawn a couple pieces, are you alright with me posting them, and what should i tag them with? Also, i'm feeling very inspired to write more zed and tango for the travelling thieves au, is that alright if i take your ideas and just yoink them? Im not planning to post whatever i write at this point :P

anyways, moving on, i have a few world-building questions for you, starting w/ traveling thieves:

how does the mercenary guild and hits system work? Can anyone put a hit out on anyone, or do they have to be a wanted criminal? also, how does gem choose her targets? i like to believe she has some sort of moral compass in picking, but knowing the world they live in, i can't be certain

this is less of a question, but i don't see how the world can be resolved. For ttsbc, the obvious solution to the undercity folk living freely is that they overthrow the overcity government or just remove the laws keeping them banned. Sure, it'd be difficult, but from what we've seen, most people don't actually have strong prejudices against the undercity, they just vaguely believe they're evil, which can be very easily disproved. For traveling thieves, it's completely different, because not only is the discrimination in the government, it's in the people themselves; merely changing the laws would not change how people see hybrids, so how can that be fixed? My best solution to them all getting a happy ending is that they run away and found their own civilization where all hybrids can be free, but it doesnt seem like a likely scenario

again, not really a question, but I'm so so so happy in the latest fh piece that they looted the bodies of their attackers. the first time i read it through, i was practically screaming at the screen, telling them to grab the loot and weapons before they continued

4. how do the mobs work? do they act like any normal animal, in that they just kinda exist and happen to be very hostile, or do they follow minecraft mob mechanics and spawn into existence from nothing when the conditions are right? could they theoretically all be exterminated? do all of them dislike light, like the zombies in the cleo bdubs fic? if they do, why are they making their way to the overcity?

5. how did the undercity become a thing? Was it just always there, or was it manmade? did hybrids and mutants always live underground? are the pits really bottomless? and if so, is the world a globe, or is it flat? i understand you might not have thought very deeply about these things before jumping in, but my sister and i were theorizing about different answers. i figured the undercity isnt manmade just like the grand canyon isnt manmade, it just came about through natural processes, and mutants and hybrids just evolved(?) seperately from humans, underground, which is a whole other can of worms with the science behind that. an idea about the "bottomless" pits has to do with physics. at the center of the earth (if it were hollow), you wouldn't feel gravity because it would pull on you equally in all directions. so maybe the bottomless pit really just leads to the center of the earth, and you're not really falling forever, you're just suspended in the center forever lol. not falling, but not hitting the bottom, either

ONTO THE QUESTIONS 🏃‍♀️

The mercenary guild is basically like the underground/illegal version of the adventurer guild, and they'll take any jobs that the adventurer guild won't. Blackmail, assassination, smuggling, you name it. Gem has something of a moral compass, but it isn't exactly the strictest thing in the world. We learn when she meets Mumbo in Grian's wing preening fic that she is on her way to assassinate a noblemans son, and while that is a bit of a wink wink nudge nudge if you can figure out who that son is, exactly, it's still Gem agreeing to kill a teenager who is guilty of little more than pissing off the wrong person. Cruel world and all.

Perhaps that's exactly point? 😌 With Traveling Thieves, I did not set out to make a world that could be resolved or escaped from...the whole point is that it is cruel and inescapable, and the best you can do is continue to protect yourself and those you care about...and even then, you might fail to do that. You might be set up to fail in a sick system that would never give you a chance in the first place. And the best you can do is try to put the pieces back together in the aftermath. I don't want Traveling Thieves to resolve in any traditional sense of the word...for where that'll lead all our various characters, well, you'll have to wait and see. 🤔

Loot that body LOOT THAT BODY NOW 💃

They're like your typical minecraft mobs, they spawn in places with low light levels! We've also got some homebrew monsters that I've come up with, such as the bird-men, that we will be meeting as time goes on. Certain monsters such as zombies do avoid light, but there are plenty of monsters will go above bedrock just like certain monsters in minecraft can survive in the sun, like creepers and endermen. No, they can never be exterminated because of how they spawn!

The pits aren't bottomless, we've seen the bottom after all, where Pearl, Jimmy, and Grian were in the Depths! It is a natural chasm beneath the bedrock, and the various caves and tunnels stretch are incredibly huge and diverse, so while everything connects back to the main cavern of the under-city that's so huge, there are also other caves and tunnels where other groups live that we will be learning about eventually, such as the blaze-born pyres or where Cub is from in the Deep Dark!

It is completely totally 100% ok! I love getting long asks like this that give me the chance to develop and worldbuild the AUs and mention some details that might never really show up within the fics themselves! So by all means send more questions and thoughts! And I'd also love to see the fanarts you mentioned if you still are up to posting them, I can't draw so anything anyone draws that has anything to do with my AUs makes me incredibly happy! 😆

10: Best moment on screen (or in the book)

This is so hard to say because he has so many. He can just show up and everybody gets awe-struck, but I suppose I would have to choose Nibelheim because it’s just the most iconic and establishes his villain role in the story going forward.

I mean, it’s THE scene…the scene where we see this famous war hero that everyone looked up to and loved completely lose his mind and set everything on fire lol.

I love it because I just get the ultimate “Fuck humanity” vibe from his downfall. It’s pure rage exploding from one person and the one person that really should NOT have snapped because of how dangerous he is. It’s terrifying and sad and perfect. I love this moment. I love villains that turn against mankind in general because of a horrific experience with humans. It’s very…human…hmmm…

This could only maybe be topped if the full remake version of him ascending into a seraphim-like, Biblically accurate angel looks as cool as I imagine it will. Can’t wait to see him wipe out the solar system in 4k <3

18: What they’d go to see a therapist about

EVERYTHING LMAO.

Ok, let’s just say somehow Seph didn’t snap in Nibelheim and lose his mind, instead being strangely calm and reasonable, thus deciding to go to fucking therapy. 💀

He’d have to go for his entire existence for one. His problems started from the moment he was conceived and even before, because um…his birth was an extremely twisted and violating experiment even as a concept. He’d have to come to terms with the fact that his own parents injected him with the cells of some fucking eldritch alien abomination while he was still in the womb so that he could serve some higher purpose after his birth. So yeah. He’d probably want to talk about that.

I am trying to answer these all according to canon or at least what seems implied within canon, so I think it’s technically being with Angeal and Genesis.

This playful spar scene is very important, and it’s one of the only times Seph seems genuinely really happy pre-insanity. Later, when he and Zack are on a mission, he literally just stops randomly to talk about it all cheerfully. I mean, having fun with friends was a pretty foreign concept to him, it seems—so actually having the opportunity with his buddies looked like it meant a lot.

49: Favorite toy as a child

I’m sorry to say, but I remember seeing in one of the game guides that Sephiroth was in battle or at least training for it from before he was ten years old, and considering that he was raised to be a soldier, I don’t think he had any other toys besides weapons, hehe. I mean, in Ever Crisis, he is a young teen and has a scene where he experiences “having fun” for the first time. It’s a big moment for him, so I don’t think playing or toys were concepts he knew or understood as a kid. Maybe he had a few favorite swords though!

Had he been a normal kid….hmmm….well he is part alien and has a black wing…maybe he’d like a stuffed birb toy…ONE WITH BLACK WINGS. HA!

Just something... Idk, Four's hurting and he can't Fix It by himself and maybe he also needs a hug, but then,,, Ta-Da! There Reader is, worried outta their mind for him and getting him to calm down, and yeah maybe it still hurts but Reader is gentle with the bandages and the cleaning and doesn't even have to be asked for a hug or to wipe tears if need be... “Ouch.” Four hissed and pushed himself up against the wall of the dungeon.

He finished the boss and won the fight, but not without his penance. A large cut had been sliced though his abdomen. It hurt to move. It hurt to so much as rub his tunic against it. And he was losing blood. A lot of it.

“This.. is not one of my finer moments.” Four curses and manages to push himself into a sitting position. He needs to take care of this. He needs to stop the bleeding. He needs to-

The world goes sideways.

Four has to push himself the against the wall and against the hack job if he wants to keep from face planting himself on the dusty, dirty dungeon floor.

He sucks in a breath to stop himself from screaming. He coughs instead and waits for everything to return normal. Surely, he has a fairy somewhere... or a potion. He should have-

“Time? Hyrule? Wild?... Link?” You call from down the hallway. “Man, where is everybody? Am I the only one still in here?”

Four perks up at his name. The true name. He coughs some more and blood dribbled down his chin. It’s getting hard to breathe. The cut might have gone to his lungs.

Your footsteps pause before they pick up speed. “Hey, is anyone-? ..Oh by the grace of god-...”

You run to him. It makes him dizzy.

“Four.. Smithy.” You gulp and look down and take in the situation. Four tries to follow your line of sight but his head lulls to the side instead. “Woah! Hey, hey, none of that, ok?”

You fling yourself back and start looking through your supplies. You pull out a fairy and release it. Instinctively it flies toward Four and gets to work. Four can feel the effects of the magic work through his system and it lessens the pain somewhat. It’s enough to make him coherent once again.

“Hey...” Four coughs again. Tears spring to his eyes and he reaches toward you.

You don’t think twice about grabbing his hand tightly. You don’t mind the blood. You’re too focused on keep Four awake.

“Hey yourself.” You smile, if only to lighten your own panic. “Not your best fight, huh?”

Four coughs and more blood dribbles down his lips but he smiles back. “you should have seen the other guy.”

You somehow find it in yourself to laugh. The fairy starts to clearly grow tired as she flies more sluggishly around the injured hero. She doesn’t have enough magic to fix this, but a lot of leeway has been made.

You gulp and move to get the bandages out of your bag. “You’re going to be, ok?”

“Am I?” Four looks to the side. The world doesn’t fall with the motion and Four shimmies a little in his spot. He’s incredibly sore. He winces but gets settled.

“Yeah.” You reply. “This is nothing.”

Four hums. He knows you’re lying.

You take out your dagger and cut away at his tunic. Four doesn’t seem to notice but he’s mentally saying goodbye. He has more cloth to fix it but the embroidery took forever.

Next thing Four knows, you’re moving him a bit. A curse leaves his mouth again and you pause. “Sorry.”

“You’re ok.” He hisses. “Keep going. I know you’re helping.”

You whine. “I don’t want to make it worse though.”

You pour disinfectant without warning him. Four cries out and tears falls down his cheek.

“Sorry, sorry... I know I just said-” Your hand comes up to wipe away his tears. Four gulps and ignores the iron in his mouth. “It won’t last forever. I promise.”

Four doesn’t reply. He just whimpers instead and leans into your touch.

You keep working, quietly whispering words of encouragement and praise just to get reactions from him.

By the time you’ve finished, Four is thoroughly exhausted. He can’t stop crying from the amount of movement and prodding he’s taken to his wound even with the fairy’s help.

You coo and shush him, wiping his tears as they fall. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. You’ll be ok. Let’s get you out of here.”

He grunts but reaches toward you once more. He wants to be held. But you get a different idea. Four doesn’t know where you get this strength but you pick him and with a free hand, you pick up what little you would have left behind otherwise.

You start moving again with him in your arms. “Let’s go get Hyrule and fix you up, yeah?”

Four nods. “I’m tired.”

You don’t stop walking but you take a moment to think about your next words. “...Sleep. I’ll be here when you wake up.”

“Really?”

“Mhm.”

Four nods and kisses your cheek, tucking himself into the crook of your neck. “Thank you.”

He falls asleep in seconds.

Monster Hunter Tri Diary, Part 2: Day cycles & Nighttime hunt in the Moga Woods

Disclaimer: Text is paraphrased from my localization and might slightly deviate from the English version.

Moga Village (night)

Yay, we have day cycles! This is actually a feature that got scrapped in MH3U; while there were day and night versions of each map (probably a leftover from this mechanic), it was always day in Moga Village. In Tri, however, time advances in the village too, and you actually get to explore Moga at nighttime! (I believe the only previous time they tried something like this was in MH Dos, with the seasonal cycles.)

And look, fireflies! Or are those Thunder Bugs? (Given that this is Monster Hunter, probably Thunder Bugs.)

Also, there is a nighttime version of the village theme! I've never heard it before, due to there being no day/night cycle in 3U. It's a tad softer and more tranquil than the daytime version - I like it!

Chief's Son: "To restore the base camp, we need to dig new latrines, rebuilt the tent, cover the old latrines, delouse the bed..." Sounds like a really pleasant job. Might be easier to just throw the lousy bed into the trash and get a new one, though.

Okay, so the Chief’s Son tells me I have to report to him what I hunted in the forest, since he’s responsible for keeping tabs on that. Makes sense, since you kinda need to keep an eye on the monster population to prevent an imbalance in the ecosystem if you want to ensure a sustainable economy.

Actually, this reminds me... I remember there's an in-lore explanation that the Guild keeps records of the monster population in each area, to prevent certain species from going extinct and others from growing too large in number. (I think the only time they integrated this into the gameplay was in MH Dos; there was some kind of "bounty system", and the more often you hunted a certain monster, the less money you'd get for it.) So, are the reports I give to the Chief's Son sent to the Guild as well? (I suppose that would be like constant surveillance; but maybe, that's the exact intention behind it.)

At first, I thought the Jumbo Pearl might be a reference to MH Dos (since the village from that game is called Jumbo). However, after checking the Japanese item name, the kanji indicates that it's just an extraordinarily large pearl, rather than a pearl found near/associated with Jumbo Village. (Pity, though; that would've been so cool.)

Chief's Son: "Go report to my dad, will you? He LOVES reports." Okay - well, at least that shows he's taking his job seriously.

Chief: "There are no hopeless causes... Just lost confidence!" That's actually a damn good motivational quote right there.

Gossipy Lady: "It's obvious whenever the Chief is in a pensive mood. He stands at the left pier and gazes out at the sea." I wonder if there's a story behind this habit...

Guild Sweetheart: "The good news is that the Guild apparently has completely forgotten about us. So, you're not missing out on anything!" Well, I guess that's the bright side of it... xD Still, a bit odd if you consider the Guild is technically responsible for protecting the village - all they do is send one rookie hunter here and that’s it. They don’t even bother helping the villagers repairing the damage in any other way.

Outfitter: ""No weapon is perfect. Every one has its strengths and weaknesses." Maybe grandpa was right after all..." Well... A fault confessed is half redressed, or so they say. xD

The shy kid tells us about a goblin with a mask living in the Moga Woods (his older brother also says he's "constantly talking nonsense about an elf"). If my memory serves correctly, that has to be Cha-Cha.

Blacksmith: "I'm gonna to tell you - but just this once!" Except when you cycle through the dialogue by repeatedly talking to him, you can select "yes" again. xD

The Bowguns are completely different in Tri. Instead of the usual two classes (Light and Heavy Bowgun), you have to assemble your Bowgun out of individual parts (stock, frame, barrel), each influencing the stat values and overall performance. I guess this was done in an attempt to make the Bowguns more customizable, so you can have a sort of in-between as opposed to just light/heavy. I'm not a Gunner myself, but I think the idea is kinda cool; ultimately, they didn't stick with it, though.

Btw, there are some weapons that are completely missing from Tri: Dual Blades, Hunting Horn, Gunlance and Bow are all unavailable in this game (despite being available in Freedom Unite).

Also, the Switch Axe and the Long Sword are not available from the start; you have to unlock them later on (you have to do the 3-star Urgent Quest to hunt a Gobul to get access to Long Swords). I was a bit confused when I saw that I couldn't make any Long Swords, since I was sure I heard they existed in Tri. However, the selection of Long Swords in this game is very limited: Minus the weapons from online events, there are only seven Long Swords you can make in the game. That's right: seven. A bit of a bummer for me as a Long Sword main, especially since there are not even blades for every element. (There isn't a single Ice Long Sword you can forge offline.)

So, seems like I'll have to get a little creative here - I think I'll make myself a Great Sword when I get the chance, since that's a weapon I'm at least moderately accustomed to. I also might try out a Switch Axe against Gobul, since you already unlock these after the 2-star Urgent Quest. (Can't say I'm looking forward to it, though. xD)

Btw, I don't know if it's just a translation error in my localization, but when explaining weapon sharpness, the smith says orange is sharper than yellow which is sharper than green. Of course, it's the other way around, with yellow being sharper than orange and green being the sharpest. So, this is a small pitfall for anyone who might be new to the game - just wanted to mention it.

"Fuel for the furnace, chemicals for forging... All of that costs money, so you gotta pay something." I think this is the first time I've seen it mentioned that the smithies in MH are using chemicals to make weapons/armor. Guess that makes sense, since a lot of the equipment pieces are composed of both organic and inorganic materials, so it probably wouldn't hold together otherwise.

"My life's goal? To forge a weapon beyond anyone's imagination! I've tried again and again, but failed. One day, I'll succeed - just you wait!" Well, as long as you have a goal and dedication, you can achieve anything. Better luck next time! :-)

I really like the smith in general - such a lively and spry guy. ^^

What the?! How did the smartass kid get into my house? Who let you in? WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY SWAMPHOUSE?!?

"Did you know you can skip conversations? That way, you can skip boring conversations with people you don't even want to listen to. Very handy!" I wish this was a feature in real life.

"But some things you'll get to hear only once. And then you'll say: "Oh no! Why did I press the cancel button? Now I can never hear this again! Buhuuuu!" Unironically me every time I want the text to scroll faster and accidentally end up missing dialogue. xD

"Oh, some conversations you can't skip, like important village info and lectures from your mom..." Pity - I'm sure everyone would appreciate the latter. xD

"Do you believe there is life on the moon?" I dunno, kid - I've never read sci-fi literature from the MH universe myself.

"Why don't hunters use their huge airships to fly to the moon? Did no one get this idea before?" Well, maybe they did - I just doubt they got very far. xD

Yay! I can actually give my Poogie a name! (Actually, I think this is the first time in the series you can do this.) Though it's curious that the list includes both male and female names - is Poogie's gender just whatever you want it to be?

The cuddle timing for the Poogie is WAY more lenient than in Freedom Unite (seriously, that was hardcore).

Moga Woods (night)

"Hello, it's me, the Chief's Son! Not Junior! Nobody calls me that!" Yep, definitely daddy issues. (Nice to see the Chief's Son inherited his dad’s telepathic skills, though.)

"Oh, nice attack! Maybe you're not such an inexperienced hunter after all..." Shit, they've caught onto my ruse - they know I'm too good to be a noob! xD

It will never not be funny to me that the "So tasty!" when you make a Well-done Steak is the only voice line they ever bothered to record for the old games. In fact, it was so important that they even recorded it in different languages. xD

I appreciate how there's a brief display of "MAX" at the end of the stamina gauge - that way, you know when you're at max stamina.

Okay, so the monster list also works differently in Tri. Instead of buying the books with the info at the item shop, you have to gather the infos yourself while being out in the field. It feels a bit like a spiritual predecessor to MH World; I guess they did this to add more to the "exploration" feeling. It's a little tricky to do though, so I understand why they got rid of it. (You have to open the monster list in the menu, point the Wiimote at the monster and then add the info to your list via drag-and-drop. I can imagine this is going to be rather difficult with large monsters, since you kinda have to pay attention that you don't die while gathering data. xD)

Honey: "Full of nutrients, but indigestible in this form." What? Last time I checked, honey was a perfectly digestible type of food. What makes MH honey different?

Okay, so I've picked up an item called "Firedouse Berry". It increases fire resistance, apparently. The logical conclusions would be that there are other berries in Tri to counter the other elements (water, thunder, ice). Either way, I've never seen these in any MH before.

I’ve always wondered what the "houses"/windows carved into the cliffs of Area 7 are. I suppose this is what the Head Farmer meant when he was saying that the statue in the cave had something to do with the "forest ruins". Is this where the ancestors of the sea people lived? If so, why are these great buildings in ruins? What brought about their demise?

You see, it's the little things that always kept me fascinated in Monster Hunter. You can find these ancient ruins in all of the old MH games, but it’s never explained who built them. It's like a dark mystery of the past, constantly looming over you - and perhaps, a silent threat that this might happen again.

It's funny how the Jaggi were my literal introduction to Monster Hunter. If I hadn't read an article about there being "raptors" in MH4U - despite the Jaggi looking more dilophosaurs with their frills (which is ironic, since they're the bird wyverns that don't spit poison) - I probably wouldn't have picked it up. xD

After playing Lies of P for so long, I have to get used to MH combat again. Although I adjusted the controls of LoP so it was basically the standard MH controls (because I literally can’t play with anything else xD), the combat itself feels very different. MH’s is a lot more mobile in comparison, involving lots of dodging and repositioning; since there’s no target lock-on (targeting for large monsters only got introduced in MH3U if I remember correctly), you can’t just lock onto your target to circle around them.

Also, I don't think there’s a pause button in Tri? A bit strange since Freedom Unite had one, but I guess you're supposed to use the Wii Home button for this.

There was a young Aptonoth in Area 1, probably the one who fled from Area 3 when I killed its parents (cool that the monsters move to other areas, though!). I briefly contemplated to let it live, but then I told myself "well, it's probably not gonna survive without its parents anyway" and did the mercy kill. (I'm such a cold-blooded murderer, guys. xD)

One thing that never fails to make me laugh is how there are wooden struts sprouting from the ground if you place the BBQ spit on uneven terrain. xD (That BBQ spit is so important, it even gains the magical ability to support itself if need be.)

So, in summary, I killed 15 Jaggi, while also gathering some stuff along the way. I would've needed 30 resource points at minimum, I delivered 90 - so, thrice as much. Well, there's no kill like overkill. xD

Moga Village (day)

As far as I know, 3rd Gen is the first to have its own kinds of fertilizers for mushroom and insect farming spots on the farm (Shroom Germ and Funky Pheromones, respectively).

Dung: "That's right: Monster poop. The odor reveals (too) much about the monster's diet." Must be really pleasant to carry that around in your pockets (or store it in your item box). xD

The item description says you can only sell Pittance Fangs for "pocket change" - that "pocket change" being 180z per piece, which is quite a lot by early game standards. (I've been wondering about the name, though; could it be that monster parts like fangs, teeth etc. are used as currency in some places in the MH universe? Is it custom to give these kinds of fangs to beggars so they can buy themselves something for it?)

Okay, the smith now wants me to bring him some Iron Ore to prove that I’m “worthy” of being his customer - at least he was so kind as to lend me his Mega Pickaxe for it. (Remember, kids? The time when you still had to carry pickaxes and bug nets with you to gather ore and insects?)

Village Chief: "All wyverians are hard to please. And this one is the worst. I know him since my early youth. I got into more brawls with him than the sky has stars!" Sounds like the Chief and the smith were best friends. xD It's charming to see the Chief reminiscing about his youth, though.

Chief: "My son still has a lot to learn... But you have to overcome barriers to grow." That's true - ngl, the Chief does have some pretty deep quotes.

Guild Sweetheart: "Drum roll... The Guild says: absolutely nothing!" Man, they sure are taking their time... Okay, how about this: I'm gonna go out to get some Iron Ore for the smith (and for myself), and you see if you can get through to the Guild in the meantime, alright? Don’t worry, sweetie - I’ll be right back!

Hey everyone! It’s me, holidaygirl1225 again! :D

so I wanted to share a funny story about my friend, kris! Aka the one who always decided that pulling pranks on me was funny (hehe It isn’t buddy >:) ). So one day I was at their house, this was at the time their brother wasn’t in college yet, so we were pretty young back then you know, lol!

We decided to play some games on their game system! When we were looking though their games, I found out that Kris’s brother actually had a copy of evil house 3 (which as you know is the game with the zombies and purple Dino girl that Kris’s brother had a crush on for some reason. Idk why, ha!). I wanted to try it out since my parents don’t want me to be around anything horror related sadly, but Kris kinda… didn’t want to play it. So I tried to make them play it by calling them chicken, which worked greatly!

so Timeskip, we were taking turns on the game system. (It was when Kris was playing that things started to get weird btw) so we were at a certain point where we had to put out a fire to get access to another area of the game, with the crashed helicopter and stuff. And when Kris finishes it up and sees that tall shadowy buff guy that chases you around afterwards, they just instantly closed out of the game and threw the controller across the room! they even looked so scared from it, I never seen Kris like that before!! Ngl that one time I hanged out with them really stuck with me, I never expected them to be so scared of some guy with a trench coat and hat!

Anyways I left early and never really completed that save of the game, i hope one day I’m able to! But still I don’t wanna freak kris out like last time XD

I am once again resuming the process of making this save again (including the sims that were made for me previously last time I did this)

Do you have thoughts on the concept on Jedi lineages and lineage repudiation that crop up in fic? I get the appeal of fic writers focusing a lineage, but I find the repudiation concept legitimately squicky. The ideas that 1) a Padawan can grow up considering their lineage to be their family, only for one day their current or former Master decide to repudiate them and immediately have them stricken from their lineage, and 2) the rest of the Jedi both within and outside of said lineage are totally cool with this process and this entire system, not only make the Jedi seem horrible but also go against the idea of the Jedi as fair, compassionate, or even a family. I’m not trying to shame fic writers or readers for what they like, but turning the Jedi into some kind of backstabbing royal Tudor court, where it’s implied the Jedi don’t truly care about each other and thus continue to allow this system that hurts other Jedi for seemingly no purpose, both frustrates and saddens me.

I’ve been thinking about this and I’m having trouble articulating where I stand on it, in part because I haven’t read a lot of fic that deals with Qui-Gon and Feemor’s relationship, and the fics I have are ones where it wasn’t that the Jedi considered Feemor no longer part of the lineage, but that the hurt feelings there led to estrangement and they just didn’t connect. It’s complicated because here’s what we’re working with: - Emphasis Jedi lineages are a fan-created thing in the first place - Feemor literally only appears in one issue of one comic, and barely mentioned in any reference books - I don’t think there’s any official repudiation in the source material, just that Qui-Gon personally dismissed his training of Feemor I like the concept of Jedi lineages in fanon because it’s worldbuilding that’s coming from a good faith place and it gives me tons of fun interaction fic, like I am so hungry for Obi-Wan & Ahsoka fic or Obi-Wan & Dooku fic or Anakin & Yoda fic, so if lineages are a thing in fic and they’ll steer more people to writing connections between those characters?  Bring it on! In the source material itself, I don’t think lineages are a thing and I would say it’s probably because the Jedi don’t want to build dynasties--and looking at what, say, the disaster lineage could do if they built a dynasty? that’s probably a smart idea! XD--but also because we just don’t see that many Jedi characters and the ones we do are seen through the eyes of the main characters.  The Jedi as a concept are there to support Anakin’s story, to be a foil for his character.  That’s why we hardly know anything about most of the Council’s time as Padawans, for example. So when trying to mesh the fan-created concepts of official lineages within the Jedi Order (and every author having their own take) with Feemor’s limited appearances and limited backstory and out-of-order storytelling (ie, trying to map Feemor’s story from 2011 onto already-told books that came out in 1999, that of course wouldn’t have mentioned Feemor because he didn’t exist yet), it gets messy and you have to come up with reasons why he wasn’t mentioned that weren’t intended by the material written before.  And people just kinda gotta do the best they can with that, which ends up with some messy worldbuilding sometimes and implications that probably aren’t always intended. I haven’t read the kind of fic that you’re talking about (though, I’m sure it exists! it’s just not my personal reading experience, especially given the kind of fics I prioritize reading first) and I can’t help but think that a lot of it is coming from Doylist factors rather than Watsonian factors, so I chalk it up to that. Any repudation fic I’ve read has been “Qui-Gon dismissed Feemor, Feemor felt unwanted and so he chose to keep his distance, other Jedi let Feemor make his own choices”, not “Qui-Gon dismissed Feemor, so he was no longer considered part of that lineage by the other Jedi”, but to be honest, if I ran into the former, considering the whole thing is fan-created, I would probably just close the fic and not read any more of it as soon as that vibe came up. Another big problem here is that, for all that Star Wars feels massive, the worldbuilding we have on the Jedi Order is actually super thing, we don’t have that many characters or know their relationships to each other and they’re spread out across a bunch of different continuities.  So, if we consider Feemor an estranged son of Qui-Gon’s, well, he has no interaction with Qui-Gon, but who would he have interaction with that we know of from Qui-Gon’s immediate “family”?  Who would be Qui-Gon’s brother Padawan in that continuity?  Who would be his Cousin Padawan in that continuity?  Who are the other “family” members that Feemor could interact with even if he’s estranged from Qui-Gon?  The lineage is so thinly populated that we just don’t have those characters for Feemor to then go interact with other parts of his “family”.  So, he just goes to hang out with other non-”family” members and the other Jedi respect his choices, so it comes across like they’re fine with Feemor being cut out of the “family”, when there’s other (Doylist) stuff going on. (”Family” in quotes because I kind of dislike putting the Jedi Order in such a 1:1 relationship with biological family dynamics, when they lean more towards the form a communal family.  Hopefully you guys know what I mean!) But that’s based on my experience of that kind of fic, which may be vastly different from yours!  It’s hard for me to form strong opinions on it, without having read more of it, though, god knows I do enjoy examining Doylist effects on fic like this! 😂

Alright, so. Some of my thoughts first regarding the Academic AU

I wrote this fic longer than intended because I was going heavy with the details and plot

Though I am wondering if this kind of smut is welcome here, because I've let a few of my friends to read it and gotten mix responses, some said it was lengthy while some said they liked it

Personally, I was trying to walk readers through the entire process, and since its the first encounter/$ex scene, I wanted to show the small details to indicate some stuff

Initially I was going to write like virgin reader for the innocent sake. but that will make my fic longer WHEEZE-

I ended up hinting the "innocent" part with the floral pattern on the brief, well I say hint but idk if that was obvious lmfao anyways-

not to say I dont like longer fics, but the longer I write, the more mistakes im gonna encounter (if you can't tell already, i struggle a lot with grammar lol)

Last time we were in the Sharran temple, we unlocked the waypoint right at the beginning of the Gauntlet (which, interestingly, appears to be almost directly underneath Last Light; this is a big place).

There are very few areas of this place that I haven't explored yet - the main two being a pathway due north of the waypoint, and the hovering platform system that we unlocked with umbral gems. I *think* the platform system is the actual point of no return forward, so let's check out the other hallway first. I believe we don't want to go into the Gauntlet proper until we've obtained Shadowheart's weapon for the trials.

Casual reminder, by the way, that Hector absolutely hates it here. Being in a Sharran temple is already outside his wheelhouse and incredibly uncomfortable, given that the Sharran religions is the antithesis of all the beliefs he was raised with, but this place is also super corrupted and fucked up (presumably by Ketheric's influence). He's trying to be chill about it because this is important to Shadowheart and she, regardless of her religion, has become important to him, but it's really only Karlach's presence and his own desperate struggle for control that is allowing him to maintain any air of serenity in this situation.

This first room in the hallway (the one pictured above, with the sacrificial bowl) is labeled "Soft-Step Trial" so maybe we're already in the gauntlet after all? We'll send Shadowheart over to go look at that.

Narrator: The bowl contains an ancient, rust-colored bloodstain. It forms a neat disc, as if spilled calmly and willingly. You recognize this as a trial, where initiates would prove themselves to Lady Shar. This one would put their skills of stealth and infiltration to the test.

Bit perplexed about how this is testing infiltration since we kinda just walked right up to it. But go ahead, Shadowheart.

Offer your blood in Shar's name.

Aha. Okay, that opened the doors to the actual trial.

"Lady Shar values those that can remain unseen," Shadowheart explains, "and still obtain what they want. Stealth is a virtue derived from her very essence."

These doors have opened into a bit of a maze which presumably we're supposed to sneak through. I'm going to let Shadowheart ungroup and take the lead on this since this is all her big idea in the first place. XD

There appear to be a bunch of shadow creatures making very unpleasant growling noises and prowling around the place, which presumably we have to avoid as much as possible. Getting spotted yeets us back to the entrance and gets us a condescending speech from a bodiless voice somewhere in the maze. "A true child of the Nightsinger embraces the shadows and passes unseen."

Shadowheart, unfortunately, is suffering from the fact that I am not very good at stealth in this game at the best of times. :P This is a bit of a struggle. (Realistically, from a stats perspective, Hector should be doing this, but that doesn't make a lot of sense story-wise.)

Ultimately I ended up looking up a guide for this, because it was a massive pain and there were several tricks involving finding a key for a gate at the end and jumping through a window that looked impassable.

But we made it, finally!

This got us yet another umbral gem, so maybe to go all the way in, we need to complete all the trials first, instead of the gems leading us to the trials. My bad.

"The first trial completed," a voice whispers inside Shadowheart's head. "The first sign you are worthy. Continue - do not fail me."

No doubt Shadowheart is happy to hear this, so at least one of the party is having a good time.

hello hello again anon! don't worry talking about jmah is like my bread and butter i can do it literally all day every day it's SO bad this AU changed my brain chemistry forever i stg 😭

For a general outline on the concept and timeline, JMAH (or just me and him AU) is a concept that starts with c!Sam, freshly killed at the end of the Daedalus arc, getting tp-ed back into his old body right as c!Tommy is about to enter for his first prison visit on January 21st, 2021. He comes to terms with what's going on pretty fast and decides that this time around, he's going to take things more seriously. This time, he's going to do it right.

That leads into the JMAH prison arc, which--true to the name of the AU--consists of just j!Sam and j!Dream for as long as j!Sam can manage it. Here's a quick rundown of major events:

January 21st, 2021 - j!Sam first gets tp-ed into the prison again. He prevents Tommy from actually ever visiting Dream, marching him out of the prison and immediately banning visitors to Pandora's Vault entirely. He goes back to the cell, freaks out at a very confused j!Dream, confiscating most of the items in the cell (taking the clock, blowing up the chest and lectern and cauldron to collect them), j!Dream's potatoes, and his mask. j!Dream fights when j!Sam tries to take his mask--it doesn't go very well. He gets pretty badly beaten and j!Sam himself doesn't come out unscathed either.

January 22nd, 2021 - j!Sam modifies the cell entirely--adds a lot more dispensers along the back, adding the crying obsidian, and most importantly adding a row of glass with a piston door to keep j!Dream locked in the back of the cell with only about two or three blocks of space from the glass to the back wall. A return system very similar to the one in c!Ponk's cell is installed. j!Dream is reeling and injured and kinda in shock about what the hell is going on with Sam, what - and as j!Sam starts putting harming potions in the dispensers above his head, he starts to realize that. Oh. He might be a little bit fucked.

January 24th, 2021 - j!Quackity tries propositioning j!Sam for Las Nevadas. j!Sam emphatically refuses, makes some weird implications about j!Quackity wanting to torture j!Dream (??? what ??? like not that the thought didn't cross his mind but what the FUCK??) and is ultimately pretty cagey and aggressive in ways that pretty thoroughly sour j!Quackity to the guy, especially when he learns about the weirdness that happened with j!Tommy's prison visit. The two of them start hanging out more, and in the process start theorizing that maybe j!Sam is in with the enemy--maybe j!Dream has played them all. (Around this time, j!Sam also seals up the Egg Room. Okay, problem boxed fixed, not his problem now!)

~March, 2021 - Lacking any updates from inside the prison, j!Ranboo sets off the TNT in a last ditch attempt to try and communicate with the man inside. j!Dream is heartened by the reminder that he's not been forgotten, but also faces Consequences for this. He's slowly coming to terms with j!Sam's deal and trying to figure out what the hell he's going to have to do to survive it and get out of here. On the other hand, the TNT freaks out j!Sam badly--even now, even after everything he's done, j!Dream is still hiding things from him. Still getting things past him. It's a pretty rough day for them both.

~ May 2021 - j!Quackity and j!Tommy's efforts to break into the prison to figure out what the hell is going on finally bears fruit in a convoluted, definitely-should-not-work-in-the-slightest-by-any-stretch-of-the-imagination kind of plan that. Miraculously. Somehow. Does manage to work, through a combination of j!Sam being a little too careless and distracted and hey like after you try different things like a hundred different times maybe you'll come up with something a little less bound to fail on step one and sheer, plain, dumb luck - they manage to break in while dragging Ghostbur with them, wanting information on what's going on (and j!Quackity, of course, looking for information on the revive book.) Once they get to the cell, all hell breaks loose - in the chaos, as j!Sam makes harming rain down from the dispensers to try and gain control, j!Dream ends up reviving j!Wilbur before j!Sam arrives in the cell. j!Sam maims and kills j!Quackity, taking two fingers and a life, and then once again throws j!Tommy out of the prison. IT's the first major deviance from the old timeline, and it is. a Huge blow to j!Sam, who has otherwise been convincing himself that everything has been running smoothly thus far. It's a awful cocktail of some of the moments from the old timeline where he felt the most out of control (taking Ponk's arm, watching Tommy die, being unable to stop Dream from reviving Wilbur, Quackity's visits) and it shakes him up badly. His relationships have been slowly burning as this timeline has proceeded - despite managing to not torture and maim j!Ponk this time around (woo great job for that one j!Sam) they had a very messy + very public breakup, j!Tommy's complaining hasn't really done his reputations any favors, cutting off the rest of the Badlands and not keeping j!Bad and j!Ant as guards hasn't helped their relationships at all, and he's also just . Been holing himself in the prison. This incident gets pretty publicized and only ends up making his reputation worse - and j!Sam ends up spending even more time within the prison.

~ November, 2021 - Tired of j!Sam's bullshit, j!Quackity's planning goes from 'trying to figure out what's going on' to full on Butcher Army, time to plan a coup. Enlisting j!Techno for the cause (hey, they've got to have a shared grudge against j!Sam, right?) he starts planning a takeover of the prison. He's going to take out j!Sam, trap him, j!Dream, and j!Techno inside the prison, and get the keycards for himself. Time for him to be top dog, whatever. His plan goes off pretty well...except for how j!Techno had a stasis pearl and manages to leave before he gets to him. Whoops. Still, he's got j!Dream and j!Sam and an axe he's been grinding for months--time to get the keycard and get the Revive Book and get his fucking revenge for good.

~ end of November, 2021 - j!Techno returns not too long after gathering some supplies necessary to break in and break out of the prison again, the weak points being. Much, much more shoddily patched together, given that they were fixed by j!Quackity. At this point, j!Quackity has been visiting the cell daily for about two weeks, mostly focusing on j!Sam because he's really fucking angry about the whole "oh yeah i maimed and killed you lol" thing and because...honestly j!Dream isn't even as fun or as satisfying, mans has a pretty high pain tolerance and isn't nearly as scared of him as he is of disappointing his Warden >:/. j!Techno arrives, j!Quackity books it the hell out of there, and he's left with j!Sam and j!Dream in the prison. He's here to break j!Dream out, obviously...but what to do with Sam? Dream tells him he'll handle it.

about a week later - j!Dream returns. j!Sam had told Quackity about the time travel, j!Dream wants the keycards (and with the threat of j!Quackity coming back, j!Sam is definitely pretty willing to give them over, relatively speaking) and...j!Dream wants answers. JMAH Daedalus goes on for a stretch of time that I don't think we firmly decided on before j!Dream kills j!Sam with an axe to the heart, and...j!Sam is left back at where he started. One life down and wondering how it all went so wrong.

Of course, these are just most of the main ~events~ in the timeline and honestly, these don't really touch on how things develop within the prison at all. That's covered more in other posts about JMAH--which, definitely check em out if you're interested :D Or ask more questions, of course. I'm always down to brainrot about themb.
