Yo! Just noticed it’s the anniversary of when I finished my second fanfic Dreamcatcher, which is the work I actually started to lean into writing fanfiction (since my first work I really just wrote for myself before being encouraged to share it).

So, in honor of that, here is some of the original second nightmare which was actually written from Dream’s pov before I ended up changing it to Punz’s.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Referenced Torture, Blood, Death, Injuries, Profanity.

Dream is wet and panting, in a puddle of watery red flowing into an equally crimson pond to his side, where the non diluted liquid gets thicker.

There’s white fur stuck in it as the body of a dog, slashed to bits lies there next to him. Both sitting in the despairing silence of the box.

Tears form in the corners of his eyes and his vision gets blurry, but he doesn’t let them fall. He just exhales.

Why does everything die around him? Why does everything he dare to care a smidge about get taken from him?

As if to follow his thoughts, the white turns to black. The fluffy bloodied dog shifts into a cat that’s long since stopped breathing. Dream turns his head, and faintly smirks at the sight of the additional body sprawled out on the floor next to him.

He mutters to the corpse under his breath, rolling his eyes, “To be fair, you were being a bitch. Like don’t blame me, you know you d—deserved it… I mean I lasted like—how long before beating your head in? That’s pretty impressive—pretty fucking impressive, you know.”

Tommy’s unmoving body doesn’t respond, just stays there, unmoving and uncharacteristically quiet. His face swollen and bruised, not unlike the innocent cat he beat to death.

Then his body evaporates and Dream finds himself in a new room, accented with black walls and bedrock. It’s detail is perfectly ominous like he wanted.

He’s kneeling, unguarded by armor with an audience of people surrounding him. His heart beats rapidly threatening to burst out of his chest at the danger. But he ignores it.

Indignant, Tommy rips off the mask that always covers his face. Exposing his pale skin to the cool air and the venomously judging faces.

Despite the frustration at his denial of privacy, he doesn’t so much as dignify it with a flinch. It was expected. He was ready. He’s not about to show weakness in front of a crowd.

They are silent as the axe lands, and lands again before lady death finally embraces him.

They are silent as the sword finds its place in his chest and he falls to the ground, bleeding out into the cold stone beneath him.

It’s ok. He knew this would happen. It was expected, it was planned. He didn’t know they’d kill him twice, but it’s fine.

On one life, he makes his way back down with sharp pain running through his veins. Somehow it seems duller than the pain in the prison cell, though it can’t have been less excruciating.

Tommy once again stands above him savagely firing arrows away. As they pierce his flesh and bone, he searches the cold faces around him and listens intently, hoping to hear one sound of objection to his approaching final death.

Surely, someone will say something, right? Surely, someone will oppose his final death, right? Surely, they woundn’t let Tommy kill him off in cold blood. Would they?

But there’s nothing from them. Absolutely nothing. Standing there, dripping in blood, he feels his heart entirely disintegrate into nothing. Leaving only a hollow emptiness in its wake.

Then suddenly he’s freezing from more than just death and despondency. He’s surrounded by ice. Their pillars, tall and sharp, casting the land in a pointed terrain. Despite the bone chilling air and his frozen insides, he stands, planted to the ground, looking at a sign pinned to the glacier. The wood marking the death of his parrot that travelled so far only to die there.

A deep sigh is released from his lungs and the scene smears into broad strokes of colors. Until a well known bleak room encases him in lava and obsidian again.

Sitting there with nothing but the annoying sounds of the prison to keep him company, he wonders if he’s always destined to lose everything. Was it always going to end up like this? Was he always going to end up alone?

So after much thought and dealing with a boatload of things offline for the last several months, I’ve made a few decision on how to move forward with this blog - Namely, that I won’t be.

That’s not to say I won’t be writing Kunsel going forward, because I will! Kunsel is simply moving; I have a multimuse he’ll be shifting to, while this blog will not only be archiving, but swapping urls with the multimuse due to the fact most of the muses there have Shinra ties, just like he does, and I don’t want to lose the url the multi currently has.

I’ll also be adding a crossover verse for him in Genshin Impact, another game I’ve been greatly enjoying and planning a lot of things for with @honorisen​ lately; there’s a fair few changes ready to be put into place for both Kasa and myself on the vast majority of our muses and blogs, and this is just the beginning - Not to mention changes that will be started here in the coming days.

I’ll be making a post when he’s fully moved, if anyone wants to follow him on over there instead, but until then, please consider Kunsel on a hiatus until I can fully archive this blog! <3

Goddammit.

The curse whirl through Rick’s mind over and over bumping into his rushing thoughts. He had thought that after the far too many mishaps from last year, no one would have even thought about hanging mistletoe around the house. And, besides, it wasn’t even Christmas yet.

Unfortunately, it had turned out that he had been too optimistic in thinking that the lesson had been learnt. Some idiot had decided to hang one right above the door of the garage. He hadn’t even noticed it when he had stepped out earlier, to help Jerry decorating...at Beth’s explicit request, of course. He wouldn’t have dreamt to do it otherwise.

Eleanore’s visit had been another unexpected, and not exactly welcome, turn of events. He and Morty hadn’t told the rest of the family whom she was in some other reality, to avoid unnecessary awkward tension, even if Rick had the feeling that Summer already knew. Whether it had been because it had come up when his granddaughter had met the woman alone or for some other reason, he couldn’t have said. Not that he cared.

And he hadn’t cared much about why Eleanore had come to visit, even if deep down he was curious. After all, it wasn’t every day that a different version of your dead wife showed up. But, for the most, he had just wanted her gone quickly.

And that was why he had started to usher her towards the garage, not wanting to start one of their usual discussions in front of everyone. And who cares if it would have most likely been on him because, between the two of them, he was the one who had more issues finding the will to bite his tongue. That plan, however, had quickly gone downhill the moment he had heard Jerry’s annoyingly fake cough coming from behind them.

Rick had opened his mouth to ask him what he wanted, but he had stopped when he had caught his son-in-law looking up and it had been then that he had seen it. The goddamn mistletoe hanging right above his and Eleanore’s heads.

Goddammit.

His first impulse was to flip Jerry off, ignore the stupid plant and the tradition, and push the woman inside the garage. Why should he even care to follow through? They didn’t like each other, sharing a kiss would have been just awkward as hell and unpleasant for them both. Even more with the history they had with other versions of themselves.

He had almost done it, but then another thought had struck him. Backing out would have meant giving her another thing she could have used to pester and mock him. And he was not having that. 

“Ah, f-fuck it!” He hissed under his breath, turning to face Eleanore, even if he still took a moment to show his middle finger to Jerry.

He opened his mouth, as to add something, but he quickly changed his mind and simply bent down, pressing their lips together before she could have the time to have a saying in it.

The first thought that touched Rick’s mind as their mouth touched was how freaking short that woman was. It was a good thing that they didn’t have to kiss regularly because it was uncomfortable. He’d have to pick her up every fucking time. The second thing was that kissing her felt like kissing Diane just a little, and that was good too. He wasn’t sure he could have handled it otherwise.

To underline that to himself, he kissed her in a way that was completely different from how he had used to kiss Diane. With his wife, no matter how passionate the contact had been, there had always been a certain tenderness, a hint of gentleness. This kiss? It was fierce, biting and pushy, just as their bickering and fighting. He kissed her with the same heated annoyance that filled him when he was trying to prove his point over hers.

And yet, despite the annoyance, despite the spite, the taste that she left on his tongue unsettled him. It lit up a little spark of bitter longing, a feeling that he had been trying so hard to bury for years. It was brief, but it caught him off guard enough to leave him staring at her, stunned, for a few moments, once he had broken away.

Rick shook his head slightly, to snap himself out of it, and pulled out his flask, quickly downing a few big gulps of liquor, clinging on the burn to clear his head.

“Y-Yeah, great. W-Whatever. C-Consider wearing higher heels, or-or you’ll break someone’s back,” he commented rudely, because he had to, and the kicked the door open. “C-Can we carry on now?”

I drew this wayyy earlier in this NaNoWriMo Season. Like November 3rd maybe?  

So one of my main complaints with Anne Bronte’s Agnes Grey is actually the portrayal of Rosalie and Matilda Murray (none of my followers/mutuals are probably surprised, I’m sure).

So Vicar Hatfield is hitting on 17 year old Rosalie...Yeah, gross. In 1847 when the novel came out, it was acceptable for full grown ass adult men to do that. So instead of maybe demonizing the child (or children in this case because 15 year old Matilda functions as Rosalie’s side kick in Agnes Grey) maybe we should reframe that story in its proper light? Cue Kesha’s “Dinosaur” on full blast. 

Yeah, Rosalie is a bit of a Victorian Regina George and Matilda is her rude horse-loving sister (read Victorian gender/sexuality code: a butch lesbian). Basically, they are both supposed to be examples Anne Bronte uses to tell little Victorian girls how not to be. Ouch.

The top panel is Anne Bronte’s versions of Matilda and Rosalie because they’re technically the second arc villains of her text as they are unpleasant to Agnes, the heroine, specifically and everyone else in general. 

And the bottom panel is closer to how they are in my NaNo project. I felt bad for both of them in the original book. At the end of the book, Rosalie is in a loveless marriage (not to Hatfield thank God) and the new governess (not Agnes) is trying to break Matilda’s spirit and force her to conform to the ideals of a straight Victorian Lady. :/

So I decided to answer the question of what happens next for Matilda (and other characters though she was my focal character for this project) with my NaNo project. I also explain why Rosalie and Matilda were horrible when Agnes knew them as well as many other things. The Markhams from The Tenant of Wildfell Hall will appear briefly in the story too as well of a boat load of fictional Victorian lesbians and gay men who befriend Matilda as she lives multiple lives across the second half of the 19th century. 

I basically reclaimed the Murray girls and rewrote their stories. Is that unhinged of me? Very possibly- especially since they aren’t supposed to be the heroines- but that’s what I’ve been working on this past month along side my grad studies.
