#I was on my Twitch channel and the VOD from the most recent stream played at full volume and hurt my ears

Who decided that videos should be at full volume by default when they play. It should be the opposite of that, they should be at minimum, because it's far better to not hear a video and have to turn it up then to get your ears blasted out by surprise

Dream Team VODs & Videos Masterlist
Hi hello! I noticed there's a lot, and I mean a lot, of new people wanting to know the Dream Team better and join the fandom, so i thought I'd give you a quick tour through some vods and videos that are personally the ones that I enjoyed the most. Of course, this is not everything, but just a little starter, to get to know them better. So, for your enjoyment, here's my masterlist of Dream Team content.
Note: this list will NOT include dsmp lore
DREAM
▪︎ Main YouTube Channel
▪︎ Alt YouTube Channel
▪︎ Music YouTube Channel
▪︎ Main Twitch Channel
▪︎ Alt Twitch channel
Of course, the most iconic Dream Content™ is his Minecraft Manhunt Series, where he tries to speedrun minecraft while his friends try to kill him before he kills the ender dragon. Theres 26 different Manhunts (including the "non canon" ones) that go progressively from 1 Hunter to 5 Hunters, and while watching them in order is fun, these videos can be watched as stand alone in any order! My personal favourites are Speedrunner vs 2 Hunters and Speedrunner vs 3 Hunters Grand Finale, but I highly recommend watching all of them.
Outside of the Manhunts, I really like Death Shuffle and Minecraft But We Can Only See One Chunk but there's lots of other that you can check out.
If you don't feel like watching minecraft and want something more chill, Geoguessr VODS are a good choice. They last 2 hours and he just chill with chat and answers some questions: Here and Here are two of the most recent ones!
And, you might have heard of the Dream Discord Podcast (Drodcasts for short), which are also very chill, sound only that you can have as background noise. This playlist has most of them without silences and here's another playlist with the most recent ones. The must of this are the infamous Are You In Love With Your Best Friend Quiz (The Quiz per se it's in 1:39:13) and when he Took It Again A Year Later (timestamp for this is 1:40:32)
Also here's Dream playing FNAF Security Breach that I'm adding just bc is hilarious and he's a little scared cat
If you want a full list of Dreams VODs here's a playlist
SAPNAP
▪︎ Main YouTube Channel
▪︎ Alt YouTube Channel
▪︎ VODs YouTube Channel
▪︎ Main Twitch Channel
▪︎ Alt Twitch Channel
Sapnap my beloved, his main YouTube Channel is minecraft only, but he likes to stream other games Valorant and Fornite (+ others) on twitch.
As for minecraft, he has his "Minecraft But" series, my personal favourites are Minecraft But We're All Colorblind (a classic) and Mincraft But It's 2D from his main and The Most Chaotic Minecraft Video from his alt. The Shock Stream (where he gets electrocuted if he takes damage) also absolutely hilarious.
For some background noise, the speedrunning minecraft stream is a good choice.
For other than minecraft, the Risk Stream and Pokémon stream
For IRL content, Cooking Stream with Karl and Eating Minecraft Food are good starters.
His vod channel isn't really complete but here's a channel and here's another that have some more of his VODS that include Valorant, Fornite, IRL meet ups, Pokémon, Detroit Becomes Human, and MCC Practices content.
Also he is the co-host of Banter, a podcast with Karl and (recently) George, where they invite different people and ask them questions.
GEORGE
▪︎ Main YouTube Channel
▪︎ Alt YouTube Channel
▪︎ Highlights YouTube Channel
▪︎ Vlog YouTube Channel (Coming Soon™)
▪︎ VODs YouTube Channel
▪︎ Main Twitch Channel
▪︎ Alt Twitch Channel
Just like Sap, George's main is minecraft based. He has a series called Minecraft But My Friend is my Pet where he tries to beat minecraft with Dream (who's a mob) helping him and also a "Minecraft but" series, where Sapnap, Dream and him play minecraft with a twist. Minecraft But You Can't Touch The Floor is hilarious and one of my favourites along with Minecraft But If You Laugh You Lose Finale and his own Shock video. I can't not mention the Minecraft But I'm Not Colorblind Anymore, which is a classic and really cute. The Mincraft Basketball VOD is really entertaining and features Dream, Sapnap, Quackity and Callahan.
I highly recommend his POV for MCC All Stars, where the three of them are teamed together and they crush it.
For some George IRL content, the musts are his First Cooking Stream and his Birthday Cooking Stream. I personally LOVE Tommy's Waterpark vlog ft George too. The Highlights of the Hot Tub stream are super entertaining too.
For some Non-Minecraft content, I recommend his Stray VOD which is kinda long but really relaxing and nice George Solo content. The FNAF Security Breach VOD is also a good option
Here's a playlist of all his streams if you want to check them out
And that would be it! It's not all and I'm leaving a lot of content out but I think this is a good starter if you want to get to know them better. There's a lot of content of them on their friend's channels (Like Karl Jacobs and TommyInnit) that is worth checking out too. Hope this is useful, and welcome to the fandom!

Todays rip: 22/01/2024
Mother, Father, TechnoMan
Season 4 Episode 2 Featured on: SiIvaGunner's Highest Quality Rips: Volume D
Ripped by vvsvlogs
youtube
Requested by @cathode-glacier!
There's something very funny about receiving a request to cover a rip I've never heard of, literally ONE DAY before it gets played live at SiIvaGunner team's MAGFest Chipspace show. But, to both the submitter, and to vvsvlogs herself for playing the rip at her set - thank you SO much to introducing me to Mother, Father, TechnoMan. I am always, ALWAYS down to cover more Anamanaguchi music on here.
I haven't made my love for the aforementioned band much of a secret on here: while I am still pretty poorly versed in the music world as a whole, I have listened to the entire discography of Anamanaguchi, most known nowadauentire discography. after initially discovering them through Scott Pilgrim, and immediately fell in love with their sound. With Give Me the Fantasy, I was a bit more self-indulgent than usual and covered a mashup between their hit song Endless Fantasy and Pitbull, and more recently with 88811 I covered a rip I now call one of my all-time, most-underrated favorites. Now with a mashup, and a melody swap, it's time to shift into overdrive - Mother, Father, TechnoMan is a full-on mashup medley, with so many pieces that elevate an already incredible track into all-new levels of sheer hype. Hype that vvsvlog's set at Chipspace, MAGFest, only heightens.
Because even though I was merely watching the set streamed through Twitch, it was incredible clear to me just how much sheer energy and fun exuded from the entirety of vvsvlog's show at MAGFest. And really, it's Mother, Father, TechnoMan's part of it that best illustrates it, as seen at around 01:28:40 in the Twitch VOD. Right after she'd poured her heart out performing The Paragoomba and the Wiggler with live sing-along, the music fades, the visuals turn black, and she takes a few steps away from the mic, as if to end the set, met with claps from everyone in the crowd... And then, it plays: "MOTHER - FATHER - GENTLEMEN !!" - and immediately, vvsvlogs springs back to the microphone with absolutely infectious silly-mode energy. From absolutely HITTING a Fortnite dance in time with the opening Space Jam mashup that revs up the rip, to miming along with the lyrics to Last Resort, to the neverending bounce and energy present in general, it becomes just, abundantly clear to me how much vvsvlogs LOVES doing what she does.
It's not that I'm trying to review the Chipspace performance itself here - rather, I simply think it illustrates the magic of rips like Mother, Father, TechnoMan so perfectly. There's just a feeling of joy, a feeling of pure fun to be found in these rips, the ones that are just covered in so many layers of noise, the meme mashups like Memey Hell or Everybody's Special Course, or so many others. And Mother, Father, TechnoMan just channels that energy so expertly though its pingponging of lyrically-driven sources, all tweaked to fit the high-pitched emotion that defines Anamanaguchi's sound. Space Jam, Last Resort, a chorus introduced by Initial D Eurobeat before being overtaken by Linkin Park, which fucking HITS those high notes to a level I never thought would be possible...through it all, it feels as if these sources are all tied together through the power of raw excitement. Excitement that I feel every time I listen to it, and excitement that vvsvlogs is evidently well equipped to handle.
In closing, I love Mother, Father, TechnoMan, I love Anamanaguchi, I loved MAGFest 2024, and I do love SiIvaGunner...But, as a sleep-deprived yet adrenaline-fueled me wrote at 01:17:23 in the aforementioned Twitch stream's chat:
"@ siivacord i demand rips of [USA] expeditiously"
Orz (this is me begging)

How do you get into mcyt?? I’ve tried a couple times and I can’t really figure out where everyone’s finding lore? Any tips?
Oh hi. i dont even know where to begin, i've been really out of the loop. But i have recommendations. This is going to be long
DreamSMP
Well, the dsmp has gone to shit for many reasons.
But if you do get into dsmp, blueberrytv on youtube is your best friend, they cut streams down to more digestible episodes so you can follow the story along. Yes it's long. Dear god it's long. Also @relaxxattack has a carrd that updated until fairly recently, i also recommended it many times.
The story was (i never thought i'd have to speak in past tense about it, the fucker seemed to drag through for decades in just 2 years) told through livestreams, quite a few of are lost forever because twitch deletes vods after 2 weeks and no one bothered to back them up. Also ignore everything after the disc war finale except quackity (and tales of the smp)
You can test the waters by watching Wilbur's L'manburg war video to see if you like the vibes. I usually recommend this, though it's not the earliest point in the story. (that would be tommy's disc war, which is also VERY important, but people tend to find him annoying at first, esp. 2020 tommy like jesus christ he was a different beast. Definietly watch it after the L'manburg independence, things will click.)
Sad-ist's animatics are classics that helped shape the story as it was being written. Watch them as you progress through.
Hermitcraft + Adjacent*
*as far as fandom/content creator overlap goes
1. Hermitcraft is more gameplay heavy. If you don't enjoy minecraft you're not gonna like it, but it's pretty straight forward. You find a youtuber and follow their series on youtube. People usually recommend Grian, GoodTimesWithScar, and Mumbo for beginners, (they are the most popular ones) and then you can branch out from there. Hermitcraft recap is a godsent if you want to know what's going on everywhere.
I personally loved season 8, it's also the shortest and the most lore-heavy. Really gives you a taste of what the series is like at its best.
2. The life series! (Third life, Last Life, Double life, Limited Life) again, find any participant want, then branch out if you want to. Lore is easy to find here, people were under pressure to make up stuff quickly because the series is short, and the result is funny, creative, and so so tragic.
3. People watch EvoSMP for grian, pearl and martyn lore but it really doesn't matter to anything that's going on right now. It's a good series, but Watcher (basically evil angel Grian) headcanons are far detached from it nowdays despite originating from it.
4. Yandere highschool! Do not watch Yandere highschool. No detail is worth it. Use adblock if you force yourself through it, no money for the creator he's an asshat and the other members apparently no longer talk to him.
QSMP
Since the last post, Quackity started the QSMP, in which spanish and english speaking youtubers play on the same server. It has roleplay but it's looser and less grimdark than the dsmp thankfully. They are on an island and they adopted little eggs that walk around and act all cute. It's streamed on twitch. Pick a person and look up their vods, if you're interested. Slimecicle is recommended to start with, and some spanish creators use english subtitles/translation mods. There aren't comprehensive sources to find every vod/video yet, since the server isn't that old.
EmpiresSMP
Start from participants' youtube channels, can't tall you more. I never got into it, not my thing. However, a lot of people left guides in the notes!

Hey would you like a fully story smp that rips your heart out every step of the way with amazing storytelling and role play? Well I have just the perfect smp for you!
Outsiders smp!
Outsiders smp is an amazing role play smp with a amazing story line and characters. The smp is inspired by maze runners and is set in a giant maze with the goal to be to escape and survive! Throughout the smp the players must work together and figure out the secrets of the maze to survive while avoiding the dangers the maze holds.
And if you look for an smp with a complete end layer out in story this is perfect for you to become Outsiders has that to! As of today (jun 12th 2022) outsiders has just finished the first part to its finale and the second part is scheduled for a release date of late July! So it’s an amazing time to come watch all the different povs and story each character has to offer!
Now you may be wondering now hey we’re could I watch this smp? And here’s a few!
Owengejuice:
(Owens pov is on the YouTube side one of the most complete will all his stream being made into YouTube videos! He’s the one I’d very much recommend starting with because he’s the most up to date and is a good jump point into other povs)
YouTube playlist (note if their are a few not in the playlist they are his most recent videos. He just didn’t put them in yet most likely) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCdB6oYO2Mw33gTlhut4zKOtqVyf4AY27
Bek:
(Like Owen bek’s stream are made into videos and are all on her YouTube channel! Though she came into play later in the series and isn’t their much after a certain point but a very good pov and very different from Owen!)
YouTube playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLN_FkhBTuPmsi_H2ywM_IHVTVBXT7ZYUw
Magic
(Magic while not having any streams made into videos has all her streams on her twitch! She’s a very fun pov with a mystery still not revealed! She like Bek is a later character to apear! She also makes music and has them all on her channel!)
Twitch (find streams in her highlights!) https://twitch.tv/magicsings
YouTube (don’t lisen to a hopeful melody until you have watched the finale! It spoils something! All the other should be fine to watch because they don’t really spoil stuff!) https://youtube.com/channel/UC0mkxdp2V4QOr3lxes0cUYg
Also here’s a very helpful vod finder of other members I didn’t mention!
Theirs also a wiki!
(Do note tho that the wiki in some areas isn’t up to date completely! It also has massive spoilers for events and the deaths of characters in the card with their description! (A characters card changes when they die and gets grayed out))
It is such a good and well done series with amazing storytelling and it’s just so well made. It’s so so SO good and I literally cannot recommend it enough! PLEASE WATCH. You won’t regret it!

An update with SleepPyro
There's been a couple things on my mind and I really don't have to many people to tell these things to that actually care so I'm guna throw it to the void!
THIS ISN'T AN EMOTIONAL DUMB
I'll start off with twitch! It's been pretty fun to stream consistently the way I have been able to do. Last year I made a lot of progress I hit the majority of my goals and made affiliate. There was even organic growth with my viewers and followers which was pretty fuckin neat to see. This year however, isn't starting out the hottest which is reasonable in my eyes ish. Typically during the beginning on the year views, ads, etc. Drop but now we are approaching Q2 so hopefully things can pick up. I have a few friends who will watch in the background to attempt to keep viewer count up which im thankful for because it really does help when I have any form of support. I've been posting clips on tictok and one of them finally blew up just a little bit which was pretty cool to see too! Currently I'm a variety streamer and I'd like to stay that way too, I believe not being hard locked into one game allows for way more freedom but makes gaining that audience harder so ill just have to press on. The current game I'm streaming mainly is Elden Ring I think I'm close to beating it but I'm not really sure to be honest haha. After that's beaten I'll go back to horizon forbidden west to beat that or maybe not it just depends, for the variety part we have jumped back into rainbow six and recently read dead online. The multiplayer is a little dry but it is super fun when all your friends are with you being cowboys! I know I had a bit where I played vr games a lot and that will return now that I have a more powerful computer but I'm really just waiting for a new Zenith update. That's really all that's been happening with twitch. You can see it all live at
Now YouTube
Nothing super crazy but I am back to editing youtube videos again. Mainly the channel is for vods and occasionally I'll throw in some edits. I would like to start editing my Elden Ring content but keep in mind I do have 55 hours of that to go through. I figured shifting a part of my focus to YouTube would be beneficial towards growth but I'm not consistent enough with it to determine that just yet. I have plans to edit the next episode of Resident Evil 6 because that was an insane session that I was not ready for at all. So that will be a fun video to edit and watch in my opinion. To catch the latest uploads you can click here!
Twitter
This is the platform I use the most for stream updates, schedule changes, new uploads, everything really. It's growth is slow and mainly followed by graphic designers trying to get what little money I have but here's the link to see the latest with SleepPyro
Ending thoughts
Over all the year isn't over yet and there's potential for anything and everything so ill keep an open mind and positive attitude. If you read all of this then thank you for your time! I hope to see you guys in the next stream where I yell at video games! Much love

I miss among us… what’s your favourite 2020 steve stream?
sometimes i think i miss among us but when they played it the last few times i realize that i don’t. the most recent lobby was okay but the last few before that just weren’t it for me. i love crewfu, there are so many dumb little moments that i look back on fondly and they did make this last year a whole lot less terrible for me. most of what made among us so fun was the people not the game and i do miss bigger lobbies with a lot of the crew.
i’m not sure if you actually mean 2020 here but my favorite 2020 steve streams that i’ve gone back to watch were probably the prox chat among us ones as they had so many great moments
i will also say my favorite 2021 steve streams (can’t pick just one) just in case this is what you meant (after like #1-5 the order doesn’t really matter)
1. irl streams with the boys (all of them ❤️)
2. pico park!
3. it takes two w/ dumbdog
4. crewfu valo customs (any vods i enjoyed them all)
5. scribblio/gartic phone (any vods)
6. devour
7. fall guys twitch rivals
8. any battleship stream (especially the first one with steve and dumbdog also 1v1 as jett)
9. crab game (streamer lobbies - they were all pretty good but especially the first lobby)
10. new world - from steve’s pov and also from either gumi’s, baycon’s, or dumbdog - nice vibes all around - very sad a lot of the vods are gone cause they don’t all have vod channels
11. steve’s ai art/ lab rp
12. any / all music streams - blinding lights cover and any bingle jingles
13. Risk (both vods - i love it)
(i didn’t really start watching steve regularly until like January 2021. i think i’ve mentioned this before but i decided to give steve a shot in January 2021. then i heard sugr? for the first time when he released back with you and i’ve been a steve viewer ever since.)

Asking as a person who has seen the fandubs and wants to consume more of your solo/not in a huge group work, are there any specific things you'd recommend starting with?
Sure!! Here are some options!
LET’S PLAYS AND STREAMS
I have plenty of solo game playthroughs on SnapCube, for starters! Two of my best, in my opinion, are Smile For Me and Resident Evil 2 - Claire A, so those may be a good place to start!
I also do PLENTY of solo streams on Twitch! There are VODs in the “Past Broadcasts” section!
There are also older VODs on my second channel, with more posted in chunks as the streams continue!
OTHER VIDEO CONTENT
I have a personal channel, simply titled “Penny Parker”, where I post a variety of other video content I make as my video career moves forward! It’s been running MUCH longer than SnapCube and serves as sort of a catch-all hub for anything from music, Q&A’s, discussions, meme stuff, and anything and everything in between!
MUSIC
I do plenty of impromptu original lyrics and song covers in my own time, which can be found on that previous YT channel I mentioned, but I also have a music tag right here on Tumblr!
However, most notably in the music department, I am the lead vocalist and lyricist of the band “Go! Child”, and we most recently released our second full-length album titled “Coffee and Ramen”! Here’s a link to the full album on YT!
PODCASTS
I have a few podcast projects in concept stages at the moment, but primarily when it comes to podcasting my biggest presence right now is being one of three co-hosts on the comedy podcast “Badvertising”, which is a show where I, along with my friends Blue and Hayley, take brands and concepts and create horrendously hilarious, destined-to-fail new products and ad campaigns that we must then figure out how to sell in real time. It’s an absolute blast and one of my favorite things I’m a part of right now.
It’s available on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify, and like a ton of other places, but if you want to give it a quick listen with zero hassle, here’s a Player.FM link where you can just play any episode you want instantly in your browser!
ART
I don’t have much of an art presence compared to these other categories nowadays, but I do draw every so often and would like to do much more in the future! Here’s my art tag!
I’m sure I’m missing some stuff here and there, but this should at LEAST be a good start I hope!

hello i am hax anon… Genuinely i am so thankful you’re putting so much effort into this hax post thank you sooooo much <33 i come from lifesteal where we have an amazing team of archivists that neatly have every vod saved on a spreadsheet .. used to having things handed to me on a silver platter heheh . but ive really been struggling to get into mcsr because I HAVE NO IDEA WHATS GOING ON. i love these little speedrunner people already but i want to love them more!!! again. thank u so much i appreciate you and your service to the mcsr community okay bye thank u.
Tumblr media
hellooo that was quick haha i was hoping you would see it
yw, thank you for sending the ask! i've been meaning to learn how to properly save vods for a while now so this is just the final nudge i needed, really. i'm assuming you saw my silverr reign post – it was my first time making a post like that and it was very satisfying so i am happy to make one for hax. it's fun to look back on memories, and it's always exciting to have new people interested in mcsr!
ahh lifesteal archivists...i have heard legends peepoWow
yea most runners don't save their vods, save a select few like feinberg (who trims his sometimes) and silverr who saves (most of) his full vods when he remembers/is reminded. fein has a dedicated vods channel and silverr has a playlist that used to be 250+ jumbled, undated vods until i offered to organize them after getting made mod.
anyways
welcome to mcsr! honestly i still feel pretty new myself haha even though i've been here close to a year atp. don't worry too much about not understanding everything that they do ingame, you'll start picking stuff up as you go :) i'm not the best source of info on speedrun tech (i've barely played any mc myself), but you can join the massive minecraft java speedrunning discord (javacord) or look for videos on youtube to get the gist of what people are doing in speedruns.
mcsr is more of a twitch/streaming-based community rather than yt-based – you'll find that a lot of runners' yts are mostly filled with personal best (pb) runs or failed runs. there are of course people who create fantastic youtube content (that's a whole 'nother post), but the majority is livestreamed.
there are a couple main categories that people stream: 1.16+ any% random seed glitchless (aka rsg, the most popular mc speedrunning category where the main goal is to get to the end and kill the dragon aka beat the game), 1.16 all advancements (aa), set seed glitchless (ssg), mcsr ranked (players parallel 1v1 speedrun the same seed from a filtered pool of seeds, whoever kills the dragon in their world first wins and gains elo. here is the website to download the mod made by RedLimeRL and OliverMCSR, you can join the discord to learn more. there is a quarterly ranked playoffs tournament hosted on feinberg's twitch, past playoffs vods can be found here and we are currently in season 5. here is a separate website with a live leaderboard for this season, you can see all the details of every match and directly compare player stats, very cool).
recently, people (including hax as you probably know) have also been streaming 100 hardcore, which is a challenge to beat the game (usually in 1.16) on 100 consecutive random seeds (no reset) in hardcore mode. very difficult. couriway was the first runner to attempt 100hc back in early 2022 after completing his initial 1,000 no reset runs challenge (you can find videos about that and his current 100,000 no reset runs challenge on his yt). only 2 runners so far have completed the 100hc challenge: feinberg and energy9802. some have gotten very close, including taffel (96, died to lava on run 97 rip) and hax (99). i will be talking about hax's 99 streak and its glorious end in my hax post.
mcsr is a wonderful place. it has its rough moments but for the most part it is a lovely, accepting community. when i first got into mcsr i was swept away (and still am!) by the constant innovation and clear passion that shines through in the community-organized events. just off the top of my head: speedrun showdown (my personal introduction to mcsr), eye spy invitational (aka esi, you'll hear about hax's role in esi3 soon), mcsr ranked playoffs, lockout bingo, various beat the record live (btrl) tourneys, weeklies, couriway's no reset tourney (which he plans to do for every 1,000 run milestone!), mcsr world cup, an assortment of charity events (such as the couples counseling 3 scout-and-route tourney that is happening this weekend to support the trevor project – it is being livestreamed on President_Poundcake's twitch, bracket here), and assuredly many more that are slipping my mind.
all that to say: hang tight! it's going to be a good one :)
(edit: here is the hax post!)

What Happened to Twitch?
Twitch used to be a pretty good website. I had really high hopes that it would be a competitor to Youtube. It is a live stream platform that was ahead of Youtube as Youtube took a while to do live stuff. It has videos as well such as of past streams or people streaming videos they made for viewing later, viewer interaction features, solid streamers, no audible magic, good mods/staff, etc... Now the issues with the site are virtually endless. Let me give you a rundown of various things I have experienced and I have heard others experiencing which you may or may not have experienced because it’s as if that issues are not even account-specific.
Lately when logging in, every time, they prompt be to get a 6-digit code from my Email to continue to login because they “don’t recognize” my device. Yeah, you know how on every other website that has verification things like this, it’ll keep track of what devices you logged in from so you don’t have to keep verifying? No matter what, it doesn’t do that for me and a bunch of others. It seems to work fine for others though. So it’s user-specific. I have even tried logging in from one PC, then logging into another off the same internet while STILL being logged in to that PC and it’ll ask me to verify on both. It should at least be able to tell it’s from the same IP, but nope.
Try reporting the glitches and problems to Twitch as well. You’ll get nowhere. A recent experience I had with them was I tried to resolve that 6-digit verification thing for months. I explain it, get what looks like a generic copy/paste or automated response that does not address the issue, I respond back saying that wasn’t it and explain it again, then get NO response back, but do get a response back with a survey on how they did. Needless to say I was not satisfied and explained it in a civil way. No response back from them for that either. They used to handle stuff like that so well way back. Like, I remember when The Speed Gamers migrated from Ustream back to Twitch that they were having layout trouble during one of their charity streams in that what they wanted to incorporate on their page couldn’t be done, so they messaged Twitch staff about it and they tweaked the page so they could. Stuff like that was amazing! I don’t see things like that happen anymore.
When finally being able to log in, I’ve noticed that oftentimes my status is set to “offline” when I always have it set to “online”. Alternately I have seen friend’s statuses going to idle despite them being active on the site. So that status part of the site is entirely borked.  Moving on to other topics...
I think users knew when they implemented Audible Magic (basically Content ID for Twitch, automatically hitting videos) and played it off as a benefit to streamers so they can remove copyrighted music in their videos that it was going to go downhill. Remember that a lot of people went from Youtube to Twitch (Or Justin.tv) BECAUSE they were tired of Youtube’s horrible automated systems. Add automation in the mix and, well... it indeed went downhill.
Twitch is clearly inconsistent in their moderation now too. There was this one girl who frustratedly threw her cat behind her on stream and nothing came of it. But on the other hand, there was a girl who got banned for apparent dog yelps off camera with her being there, stating the ban was for animal abuse. Story: https://www.dexerto.com/entertainment/twitch-streamer-furious-over-animal-abuse-ban-amid-alinity-controversy-1296710 Many’ more examples like that out there on various topics.
Also, ever since they implemented automatic moderation of words in chat, there has been a ridiculous amount of people punished for innocent things (you can briefly read what they post before it gets removed from view or use a browser extension to reveal them) because it can’t tell context. At least streamers can turn that off, but it was set to on by default which caused a lot of issues. Still’ does when people have it on as not everyone turned it off.
Streams have been getting very bad audio glitches for me in that they will get more and more distorted until I pause then play the stream. On top of that, the chat will stop scrolling with new messages at times, forcing me to scroll it down manually. With both of these, it’s like having to maintain two fronts while trying to interact. Not fun.
Speaking of trying to interact, ever since they implemented that stream delay of like 20 seconds to cheap on the servers, it has not been the same anyway. They eventually implemented a “low latency” thing which yields faster delivery at the cost of possibly buffering a lot, but it’s still longer than the 2-3 seconds it used to be. Just imagine trying to converse with someone face to face and they respond 20 seconds later first. It’s the most awkward thing to keep track of. (Smashcast doesn’t have that. Just’ saying...) It can be even worse if the stream player itself gets an error and you have to refresh, which does happen fairly often. Making you possibly miss the point the streamer talked to you. Trying to sort it out then just stalls the whole thing because they have to readdress you if you mention it to them which backlogs them responding to others and etc...
For the videos on demand (VOD) themselves, playback is often glitchy as errors happen midway through, they don’t play at all and seeking to a certain part is often very difficult as it doesn’t go where you click. Heck, I heard from others that sometimes you can’t even PAUSE a VOD as that functionality is glitched out. But pausing works fine for me. Why is that? Who knows.
Live streams aren’t much better as they have their own issues. I often get errors and have to refresh the page to get it to run again. Even when not getting an error, I noticed that I’m served a slightly-slower stream than others seem to get. So I have to pause then unpause the video every so often to get it to jump back ahead to the closest point I can see. Part of me wonders if the error and slightly slower stream are related, but don’t hold me to that. I have a good internet connection too.
Twitch streams also get deleted nowadays unless set up to into highlights. Given that many weren’t aware this happened before it was too late (you only had 14 days to save them if not a turbo/prime member and 60 if you are), a TON of content got lost. People argued that it’s to save money because of the hosting costs of video data being large. So rather than streams just being automatically turned into highlights as a precautionary measure, they just let them get wiped because they didn’t care. I’m not entirely sure about that “because” you can save streams to highlights as mentioned. So it’s just going to fill back up again since people now know of it, if not already has filled back up.
Twitch also got rid of PMs so past conversations you might have wanted to look back on or had to catch up on as a backlog were lost. You can do the same sort of thing in whispers if a person allows it in their settings, but what’s the point of getting rid of PMs?... Text is text regardless of where it’s located. This was one of those sorts of changes that I can’t figure out. I “thought” maybe they wanted to unify a private place to talk since both existed at once time, but why not just move the conversation to the other or not have both at the same time to begin with?
Another thing they get rid of for no reason is email notifications to streams you follow. They “say” if you don’t watch a stream for a while they’ll turn off email alerts to it. Which makes sense to not fill up someone’s inbox. Imagine for instance they stream 30 days straight and you don’t go to any of them as sort of a break. That’s 30 emails that are useless to you. Except it doesn’t work. Even streams I watched regular like Bob Ross got email alerts disabled. You can tell that they keep track of when you click an Email link to someone’s stream too because in the URL you’ll notice it recognizes you came from the Email. So there’s no excuse. Oh and there’s no way to toggle that automated disabling of alerts to off as far as I’m aware. So you just have to deal with it. At least they do seem to be consistent about telling you when it does turn off email alerts, but get ready to enter that 6-digit login code just to fix the alerts regardless if the person is streaming or not.
After the Amazon buyout, eventually they started pushing Twitch Prime as well, basically another paid subscription thing like Turbo, only with Amazon benefits added on it. But all the things they push as “prime loot” are complete garbage. Stuff like Raid: Shadow Legends which is hardly a “game”. What made them even think a community of gamers would be into that? Well, maybe they did realize that, but did it anyway as a business partnership for the moolah.
I get the feeling that business partnerships are what’s going on with all the Valorant stuff popping up as well. Only with streamers being able to take advantage of it. For example: People found out to try the game, they need to watch any Valorant stream with drops enabled for a for 2 hours. That lead to people going to streams just for that invite. Many people. Artificial-inflation amounts of people that encourage people to stream it for said numbers and Twitch recommending channels playing it like mad to people, lol! So yeah, I’d be very surprised if it wasn’t a business partnership.
You can find many more examples out there of people may or may not having a bug for things, but this should be enough to explain that Twitch is a complete mess. Every single aspect of it. It’s in a state like Youtube where everything is broke and they are ignoring users who message them telling about bugs (which they claim they encourage people to do and they listen to) or maybe are just unwilling to fix any of them even if they know about them. Who knows because they don’t communicate like they used to.
Your thoughts?
Thanks for reading and have a good one!

So In my last post i said i wanted to talk about vtubers and i feel like the best place to start would be to explain how i got into the rabbithole because i feel like it is quite diferrent from many others.
most of the time when i hear other people talk about it it’s the same story: they randomly saw one clip (and it is always the same three clips they talk about: Korones ‘eekum bokum’, Fubukis ‘scatman’ or Mikos ‘N-word’) and youtube did the rest.
So it all started in the distant year of 2010 (i know that’s way before vtubers really existed but bear with me here this is gonna make sense later)
so in 2010 Lisa randomly found a videogame in a yard sale and told me about it. That game was The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. After i saw her play it i knew i had to get it too and it was one of our favourite games at the time.
So you can probably imagine how excited we were when just one year later the sequel came out: Skyrim (and if you somehow haven’t heard of that one: congratulations for living under a rock for more than 10 years).
And of course we played the shit out of it. and eventually wanted to try some mods... so we went to youtube... and found the MxR channel who did weekly mod showcases.
so we watched him for a while, then eventually his girlfriend jeannie started streaming on twitch.
and she did a cooking stream with Projekt Melody...
So yeah, the first Vtuber we ever saw wasn’t from hololive, or on youtube, or even on the actual Vtubers channel.
But we actually really liked Melody in that stream and watched a couple VODs from her. mostly her chatting streams with Ironmouse.
From there we discovered the rest of Vshojo, we watched tons of clips from them on youtube, watched their streams whenever we noticed that they were live (Fun Fact the first stream we watched live was Silvervale playing Skyrim so it kinda came full circle) and generally enjoyed their content without even knowing that other agencies existed.
But as anyone who fell into the rabbithole can tell you it doesn’t stay that way. The youtube algorythm will make sure of that.
So eventually there were more and more Hololive clips in our recommended. but we never clicked on any of them for some reason until i found one video: "Investigating Takanashi Kiara's Hole (of death)” by hypurban. (and honestly that hole is still hillarious to me. i mean a 1x1 hole in the middle of nowhere that somehow killed kiara (twice), IrYS and Suisei)
That was around the time when we both really got back into minecraft so i clicked on it... and then watched part 2... and then some other hololive minecraft clips... and before i knew what had happened i was subscribed to all of the Myth girls...
from there we continued with watching all the VODs of the Minecraft streams meaning pretty much everything we ever saw on youtube were hololive clips and we fell deeper and deeper into the rabbithole
-we dicovered the council girls and the ID girls and subscribed to them too.
-we watched some videos about the JP girls to better understand what they were about (thanks to Naggz for these)
-we even watched all of the reddit-shitpost reviews with subtitles and tried to learn more about coco and her legacy
quick timeskip here to the first debut streams we actually caught live: the Tempus boys
until then we didn’t really watch any of the holostars because 1. we don’t understand japanese and 2. we simply didn’t really care about them but we decided to give them a chance and... yeah they’re great.
that brings us to the last agency we followed... Nijisanji... we actually started following them really recently. i mean we had already seen quite a few clips from them but we never really paid much attention to tem before all the hologirls started getting into Rust which is a game we neither like or care about and so we started looking elsewhere and stumbled upon a VOD of Selen and Pomu playing WWE 2K22 (or... well... less ‘playing’ and more commentating) which was really funny and we continued to watch more of them and the other NijiEN girls (and some of the boys)
at this point pretty much all of youtube and twitch is just filled with Vtubers for us but that’s probably also because we are just subscribed to so many of them
i mean if you look at our youtube subs and Twitch follows it’s literally just:
-all of holoEN
-all of NijiEN
-all of HoloID
-most of Vshojo
-OniGiri
-Haruka
-Shylilly
-Numi
-Bao
-Yoclesh
-Saruei
-Juniper
-Trickywi
-Artemis
and for the non-Vtubers:
-Jaiden Animations
-TeamFourStar
-OutsideXbox and OutsideXtra
-MandJTV and his different channels
-Lockstin and Gnoggin
-Critical Role
-MxR
-Naggz Discovers (Though this one could be considered Vtuber related)
-and three german channels that most of you probably don’t know (Coldmirror, MythosofGaming and TheParappa)
and that’s pretty much it. Lisa likes to blame me for dragging her into the rabbithole, but hey, she’s the one who got me into The Elder Scrolls so if you really think about it. She did this to herself.
i think next i’m gonna talk about some of the Vtubers in more detail and tell you what i think about them specifically.
(i probably should make a tag for these types of post so you can block them if you don’t want to hear about those)

Blog update: July, 2021
Hey everyone! When was last personal update? Too long, update time!
Wait is this gonna be another long negative blog “update”?
NO NEED TO WORRY! I have good news to share this time and what has been going on.
Recently I’ve been working my job a lot and spending time with my family. I figured eh why not just kick back and chill by enjoying this new Touhou mobile game.
Not really anything going wrong. See! Told you. Now for the good news!
This is the 10th year ever since I first forged my online life.
That’s right! I have experienced so much over the past 10 years. Everything from trial and error, fighting internal struggles, breaking old habits, discovering potential, and making tough decisions. I’ve been through hell and back only to have grown better than ever. I’ve survived an existential crisis. This experience has even helped me regain my memories.
Most importantly I’ve grown stronger, confronted my fears, break free from my shell of insecurity, depression, and now have found purpose and importance. Never in my life would I’d dare say this. But this experience has completely changed my life. I’ve changed into a new person.
And now I’m sharing with all of you. Our last chance to dive into the past and reflect on this journey one last time. Then it will disappear forever.
Let me reiterate that I am far more talented, skilled, confident now than ever before. I’m keeping good memory to all of my old artwork which will be remade and improved.
Cool!
Now let’s get serious here. My new years resolution is no more relevant. Yes. A new course we’ll be heading in is a goal I want to achieve before the END of this year. The rest of this post will be about my new goals that I must finish this year!
The truth is that everything can easily be done way before the end of this year. I’d say about 2 month’s maximum. Easy!
A new 4K wallpaper. I would say what it will be but that is not important so we’ll bring that up again another time.
Finish all of my personal projects pushed far back. There is a lot of them.
GUESS WHAT? It’s time I get back and rerelease my Steam Workshop mods I have made previously. Obviously. I’m going to expand all of them and push them to the limit. So apparently I need to bring this up. JUDGING BY TWITCH SENDING EMAILS ABOUT THEIR DMCA POLICIES I HAVE THE BEST ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION IF THIS EVER BECOMES A PROBLEM.
Tumblr media
I’ll Just Create 70 Alternative Accounts!
Hold on wait. I have a better Idea.
Tumblr media
I’ll just come to make an announcement:
Just kidding!
Actually I’m just going to go through fixing my Twitch VODS. Everything from enhancing, edit, cropping these videos into a enjoyable experience to my twitch archive channel.
Bonus Best Info Mention. I want to start adding some short video animations via intro and outro.
One last thing I need to do on twitch is actually finish streaming something people can’t purchase digitally anymore.
MARIO.
Here’s an idea. One week I stop playing games and make YouTube videos or draw more artwork. And then play games on the next, followed up by focusing to more projects. I’ve tried this before and it failed. But maybe I can succeed this choice this time!
Tumblr media
After I finish streaming Mario 3D All Stars sunshine, galaxy as Mario and Luigi. I’ll do all of you a solid. I’m inventing a new challenge.
THE UNSPOKEN BREATH OF THE WILD CHALLENGE.
And yeah, that’s it. Thanks for reading all of this junk!  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[Official] - TotalBiscuits future This is posted on behalf of TotalBiscuit by the subreddits moderation team. TB does not participate in Reddit anymore (we havent managed to keep him off /r/rarepuppers yet thats a work in progress) since he doesn't think that health related speculation is good for his mindset. Well-wishes can be sent to [email protected] where they'll be sent on by his PR guy. When I went into hospital a week or so ago, it was accompanied by the news that conventional chemotherapys effectiveness had been exhausted. My body has become resistant to all forms of it according to my oncologist. 46 chemo treatments, 138 days plugged into a pump. Let nobody ever say I wasn't stubborn. Unfortunately this was followed up a couple of days later with some more bad news. My liver is failing and its effectiveness has lowered past the point where the clinical trials I had been offered would take me on. Yes apparently there are things that are too dangerous for even the terminal. Obviously we're going to keep looking for other trials but I'm currently coming to terms with the fact that I don't have long left and right now at any rate, there is literally nothing I can do about it other than try to manage the pain as best as possible and stay as hydrated as possible to ease the pressure on the liver. There are quite a few pain management options left to try and the ones that I am using can be increased in dosage quite significantly if need be. The majority of the pain is being caused by pressure on the spine from hardened nodules in the liver and lung as well as fluid. We haven't fully explored the options for dealing with all of that, but its high priority so that my quality-of-life can improve. That's what it comes down to now, getting my quality-of-life to as good a standard as possible. Even though you don't really have any treatments to fight with any more, I firmly believe that the will to live is a very strong asset and that is much easier to maintain when you're not in crippling pain all the time. That will most likely be my last health update, unless some miracle happens or we do indeed find a trial that can do something despite the damage to my liver. I'd ask people not to speculate about how long I might have left. I've deliberately left out some details to try and reduce the behavior, though it might very well have the opposite effect. All I do know is that kind of thing is upsetting to some of my viewers that read it and I'd rather not encourage it. I've already exceeded the "usual" lifespan of someone with my condition so whatever numbers people come up with are just that. Its now a case of "what do I do with the time I have left?" Why am I telling you? Because if you're a viewer of my content, its relevant to you.Retirement, sort ofFirstly, I am retiring as a games critic. I can't do the job anymore. I'm under the influence of too much medication to think clearly and my schedule too unreliable to get coverage out in a timely manner. I've found it very stressful over the last year to try and keep up, knowing that I'm failing and watching my work (rightly) fall out of favour because there isn't enough of it, its not on time or its not of good quality. It doesn't make any sense to continue to try to do that job in my state and while it used to bring me a lot of satisfaction, now it's just the opposite.Does that mean I'm done with Youtube and Twitch? Nope, blokes gotta make a living. I have a family to consider and there's no such thing as "too much" when it comes to what I leave them when I go out kicking and screaming. I want to spend the rest of my time with the two things I love the most, my family and my work. I'm transitioning my Youtube and Twitch work over to gameplay with my wife. There's a bunch of co-op stuff I never really got around to playing and I have the perfect gameplay partner right beside me. When I'm having a good idea, I'll be doing gameplay streams and Youtube videos with Genna. If you want to know what to expect from that, well we've done it before, just not recently, there's some rather popular videos of it over on Her channelThis is something that will make me happy, spending time with my family but also getting job satisfaction. That's something all too easily overlooked by some, I'm a very work-driven person and one of hardest things of the past couple of years has been dealing with not being able to reliable do my work. It's brought on depression, uncertainty, anger, you name it. I hate it.The PodcastWhat about Co-optional? Well that's sticking around. The show must go on after all. We will be moving forward with our proposal to shorten the show to 2 hours per episode however. This is for health reasons but also because lately I've felt like 3 hours drags on too much, we find ourselves having to rely on way too much filler and its not been as enjoyable to do. Some might be disappointed by this though we found in a recent poll that quite a few people, more than those who said they'd be disappointed, actually wanted this change. There are only so many hours in a week. I'd rather have 2 hours of good, fresh content than 3 hours of discussion spread too thin, which the shows as of late have often been. As for weeks in which I simply cannot do the show (which hopefully wont happen but you can never be sure), Genna is going to be trained in production and will take on a host role, with the usual guests. Genna will be filling in for Dodger while she takes maternity leave anyway so, get used to hearing her voice.SupportWe've had A LOT of questions about donations, how people can help etc. That's always humbling to see. Some suggested a GofundMe. I'm not comfortable with taking donations when I'm still able to work and have income from several different sources. I dont begrudge anyone for using donations as a form of income, its just always seemed inappropriate for us when we have several other ways to making money that result in both parties getting something. If you would like to help, do the things you've always done. Watch our videos without adblock or with Youtube Red (yes Red helps, a lot, much more than watching an ad).Support our podcast sponsors, Squarespace and [Audible at [(https://ift.tt/2HDqc2a] - they've both been very good to us over the past couple of years and let us pay Dodger and Jesse a salary for doing the show rather than just "exposure" (though they got a lot of damn exposure, let's not sell ourselves short here").Watch our streams and consider subscribing. There'll be more content coming on Twitch than there has been for a while with streams with Genna. Our subscription is a service, giving you instant access to VoDs rather than having to wait for them to hit Youtube (in the case of Cooptional, thats 48 hours afterwards), no Twitch ads, 50 chat emotes, access to the subscriber only chat and a 10% discount on our t-shirts and hoodies. We've done our best to make subscribing a service model, not a donation model and we're going to try and keep it that way, including more features and discounts if we can.Speaking of merchandise, yes the purchase of a shirt is very helpful. Margins on t-shirts are ridiculous, that's why everyone and their mother wants to sell them to you. [https://ift.tt/2zKjDqA] is where we sell ours.We have a games retail partner in [http://chrono.gg/tb] that sells a different game every day at a big discount. We get a cut of each sale, so if you see something on there you like and pick it up under our link, that helps. We do have another partnership in the works as well, with a company you should be quite familiar with.Lastly, I'll be taking the occasional brand deal here and there. Even though I'm not a critic anymore, I still fully believe in disclosure, honesty with the audience and only taking deals for games you actually like. People can see right through the fake bullshit anyway, so why waste your time and I'd quite like however many videos I've got left in me to be fun. I'm not playing your crappy game, no matter how much money you try to slip me, so you can take me off those mobile mailing lists please. These are all better than asking for donations. We're still running a business and I want to keep acting like it. All that said, if something goes horribly wrong, if my insurance stops paying out for whatever reason or if faced between draining all savings and leaving my family with nothing but our physical assets and asking for help, you better believe I'll be asking for help. The family comes first. What we leave behindIt goes further than that though. When I leave this world I want to leave something my family can use to help them earn. Not only would I be ok with Genna taking over my channels and assets once I'm gone, I'd be delighted if she did. I've been encouraging her for years to create more content for Youtube, hopefully as we make a bunch of fun videos together over the next however-long, that confidence will grow. I fully expect The Co-optional Podcast to go on and I love the thought that once I'm gone, the channels will go on in my absence, hosted by the person who knows me best and has been with me for the better part of my adult life.If this is all a bit brutally honest... well, it is me. I want you to see where I'm coming from, I always have and I really believe that's what made me an effective and useful critic. It's been a privilege, thank you all for letting me into your life and do something so important as to have an impact on how you spend your hard-earned money. Thankfully Youtube is thriving with great review and critical content now, there's plenty of awesome choices and considering most of my critical content has been reserved for the podcast over the last year, many of you have most likely found the places you can rely on.TL:DR - Conventional treatments ineffective, liver too damage for clinical trials that we know of. I'm retiring as a critic to spend whats left of my life sharing my love of gaming with my wife and all of you via co-op videos and streams. The podcast will continue every week, with a streamlined 2-hour format. We have no plans to launch any kind of donation campaign and suggest above a list of ways to support us if you would like to.Thank you for reading, watching or listening and I will see you soon, along with Genna, on a stream or YT channel near you.
