They should make a finding a new academic advisor that’s easy
#okay it is actually pretty easy at my school I just have anxiety#and I’m stuck between two choices#one of which I’m not actually sure can be my advisor yet because she’s a new professor#but also she’s probably the best teacher I’ve ever had and taught me most of what I know about field work#the other guy is someone I’ve taken at least one class with every year here and is the whale professor#and a lot of my focus has been whales#but prehistoric whales specifically and I don’t think he actually knows all that much about them#I’ve also embarrassed myself in front of that man a few too many times#learned that I get really sea sick in one of his classes while we were about twenty miles off shore#don’t recommend that#j rambles#I would like to add that the reason professor a taught me most of what I know about field work despite only starting here this year is be my#previous advisor doesn’t teach his fucking classes#I learned more from her in a week than I did him in a term (in a wildlife ecology class by the way so he really should have been teaching us#that stuff)#he would just get her to come in and teach a few classes because she was in the area#anyway he’s no longer my advisor because he sent an email to all of his advisees telling us to go find a new advisor
