I have so so many fandoms so here's a list of the ones I can think of right now. Not super active in all of them but, I do think about them a lot.

- Star Wars (currently rewatching all of the films and the clones wars in chronological order, Rogue One and Andor are my favourites though)

- DC (Batgirls, Teen Titans 2003, and Young Justice 1998 are my top comics but i’m slowly working my way through most of pre-crisis, also have watched Titans (netflix) and loved it (Brenton Thwaites did an amazing job of Dick Grayson))

- The Maze Runner (i could talk about the books and films for literal hours and never don’t think about them. my roman empire)

- Marvel (mainly mcu but also the ms marvel comics (Kamala is everything to me), also i watched the Hawkeye finale on xmas eve because its THE Christmas show to me)

- both Percy Jackson and Hero’s of Olympus of course (also Magnus Chase)

- Grishaverse (leigh bardugo is life)

- The Raven Cycle (everything about them i'm in love with and the writing is such an inspiration for me)

- Half Bad: the Bastard Son and the Devil Himself (all time favourite tv show, so mad it was cancelled)

- The Manifold Worlds by Foz Meadows (pretty sure the fandom consists of me and the author of the single fic on ao3)

- Outer Banks (it’s summer here so i’m thinking about them a lot, and also you were literally my motivation for finishing s3)

- the Hunger Games (ballad of songbirds and snakes is such a masterpiece and has transported me back to my hunger games self)

- the magnus archives (was really active last year but not so much anymore)

- a good girls guide to murder (I'm so excited for the show)

man it IS sort of strange to think about how different the fandom was back when last life was happening. third life was like… none of us knew what to expect. the fandom sort of came as it happened. and then last life happened and we were all insane and if I had to say “this is when we crystallized what life series fandom is LIKE”, I’d say that happened during last life. so many of the ways we do the life series now—the ficlets, the art, the curses, the dynamics—weren’t like, a thing we did in that way until last life! so much fanon—the watchers, the bloodlust, the canary—became what it is during last life specifically, and has largely been ITERATED on since, but it was written then. like, if you weren’t around then idk if you know what I’m talking about, but I think most of the people who were around then would agree.

I mean idk maybe I’m biased (I started actually being active on tumblr about like three months before last life came out and therefore that’s the first one I was super around for), but I really do feel like… third life invented the life series. but last life invented how we talk about the life series. and that’s a pretty big legacy, I think.

one of the most intriguing things about sapphic pairings, which, in my opinion, cements them as the best type of ship gender wise, (don’t come at me), is the dialectic parralels they often showcase. Very commonly, a narrative will queercode it’s characters by presenting them as something of a matched set, whether they be friends, enemies, rivals, etc.

This is especially and irrevocably true in sapphic relationships specifically because of how insanely close and often toxic and codependent female friendships can become, especially between repressed queer girls. The comparing yourself to them, the resentment and jealousy, the love, the possessiveness— it’s easy for those types of relationships to bridge on romantic, and that’s why queer girl “friend breakups” are so intense, and often so romantically charged. Because it’s essentially an actual breakup.

Similarly, as is often seen with two characters who are intertwined in this way, or any other, the narrative will present them as parallels to the other’s character, essentially inversions of each other, furthur proving the notion that these two people are a matched set— you cannot talk about one without also discussing the other, because their development within the storyline is entirely dependent on each other. Specifically, female relationships are known to present themselves in this way to a T; it’s what raises the extremely common question within queer women: do I want to be her, or do I want to be with her?

Take Jackieshauna, two girls so insanely connected that even their fucking funko pops had to be together, still codependent even when separated by death. Their relationship was insanely homoerotic, even without being canonical, which makes them one of the most popular ships in the entire Yellowjackets fandom.

Take Catradora, who were super duper codependent in their early days in the horde, and who’s narratives paralleled each other even right up to the very end of the series. They were also a matched set— yes, they had independent character arcs, but their traumas were so connected to each other that without the other, they would have turned out a completely different person, and very likely a worse one..

Take literally any sapphic ship, and you’ll likely see this issue presented in one way or another. This entanglement, like souls bound together, that can’t even become completely separate from each other in the midst of war, death, politics, starvation or cult activity. That’s what makes these kinds of dynamics so interesting, and ripe with motifs to discuss, like I’m doing now. To put it simply: fiction is bonkers bannanas, and girls are extremely close with one another in a way that cannot be understood by outsiders. People of any nature, gender, whatever, are shipped together because they are interesting together, and nothing is more interesting than people who cannot exist without some semblance of the person they care for most. Even if you don’t see them as romantic, you can’t deny the intensity and emotional intimacy share. The human condition is an endlessly expanding atrocity, and the depth that lies within it is easily exemplified by other people, and that, my friends, is why stories are good.

RIPTIDE!!!!! - really long animated series

not an anime though, no matter how much grizzly wants it, it would be an animation style where the characters could have very clearly different nose, face and body shapes, really pushing my riptide nose agenda here sorry, each episode would be like 20-40 minutes long and instead of coming out in seasons there would be massive gaps in between episodes, from 2-6 months long, to leave time for writers and animators to get stuff done (massive team of animators btw, i feel like it would be pretty successful)

PRIME DEFENDERS!! - comics

literally nothing else they could be, just really well made, well performing comics (i’ve already talked about this before you can stalk my talk tag if you really want to find it lmao), the comic company making them would be keeping well away from movies n shit btw

APOTHEOSIS!!! - i wasn’t really sure about this one to be honest

i had to ask my friend and she said anime which i don’t agree with but i can see it, i think maybe a short book series where each book is 150 - 300 pages and is about a different god they have to kill/a different episode, i think that works but if anyone has any better ideas please tell me :D!!

BLOOD IN THE BAYOU!!! - i hate to say it, i really do…

bitb would be a really long really good 80s horror book with strong homoerotic undertones, a satisfied fanbase and lots of active members in the community making fan comics, films, writing, theories and art ect… until well after the book came out……….. and then it would be made into the most egregious and awful live action movie you have ever seen, the most awful casting (like chris pratt as officer dudes….. throws up) and even worse sfx, oh yeah and the characters would be ruined and the story would become so butchered it wouldn’t make sense, they would do some shit like cut out becky so kian just kisses some random lady (removing both a really good and well written character and a layer of kian’s character that i think is super important) and make rolan really be an evil bug spy the whole time so rand has to kill him to save the town also add in a whole new sub plot that never existed like the rand family is secretly a long line of bug alien hunters or something fucking stupid like that and the entire fanbase would murder whoever thought re-writing the story was a good idea (ahaha can you tell ive been through something like this before ahahaha, character morals and motives being removed and whatnot ahahahhahahaha.)

it would be well made though, unlike the bitb movie it would be its own original thing, have great makeup and effects also be well casted and well shot, well written, ect ect, it would bloody and gory and not suitable for people who can’t handle showing bones and organs all over everywhere, lots of shitty rip off merch would be made though and the fandom would be 99% gay little freaks (normal suckening enjoyers) and 1% homophobic straight white men who get mad whenever they see soda and emizel having gay sex on screen or whatever fag shit that biting thing was

AITA for triggering someone’s epilepsy (unknowingly)?

So I’m (19F) in this relatively small Discord server for a fandom. We occasionally get new members but there’s always been a “core” group of 7 of us who started it originally. We’re pretty close and consider each other genuine online friends, and we all admin the server.

A couple weeks ago, a new member (?M) who I’ll call K joined and I immediately felt a little sketched out by him because in his Discord profile in the pronouns section he put “goon/gooner.” I’m cis but I worried for the rest of the server (mostly trans), though they either didn’t see it or didn’t point it out. K seemed okay, he wasn’t very active other than reacting to stuff with emojis so he faded into the background and didn’t really bother me.

So we have a channel in the server for holiday stuff and yesterday one of the admins sent something for the first day of Hanukkah (the 8th) and pinged everyone. The last message above that was about Transgender Day of Remembrance (the 20th of November, before K joined) and after getting pinged for the new one I guess K saw that because he suddenly replied to one of the articles (about a trans boy-to-girl getting murdered) and said “rip king, sorry to see a brother go down.” It was very obvious in the article’s thumbnail that the teenager murdered was a girl, and it said she was trans in the title.

I was livid. Most of my friends are trans and I would (metaphorically) die defending them. I was too angry to write an actual response so I just sent a GIF (the “You should kill yourself now” one with the guy with white eyes and lightning flashing in the background, except it was sped up). K didn’t reply and another admin deleted his message and I wanted him banned, but they said we should wait for K to reply and give him the benefit of the doubt in case he was mistaken or misread it.

K started spamming in our general channel about half an hour later, super mad and saying stuff like “FUCK YOU YOU [R-SLUR] YOU MADE ME HAVE A FUCKING SEIZURE I HAVE EPILEPSY YOU DIPSHIT” and was just basically saying variations of that over and over until we kicked him. Apparently K had mentioned his epilepsy at one point but I don’t remember it ?? An admin pulled up a message though (his intro) where he listed it.

The other main 6 admins are very conflicted on this, but they mostly seem to think I’m an asshole and a couple of them have even unfriended me. I would be the asshole if I knew about K’s epilepsy, but I shouldn’t be expected to read every single message sent in the server, and honestly K took the risk of being on the internet where there are tons of flashing images, and I’m pretty sure there are accessibility settings you can have on Discord and your computer in general. Plus, K was being transphobic, and I was very angry and didn’t respond well. The others said I could’ve put a flash warning or something, but I wasn't thinking straight in the moment.

So, is this a NTA, JAH, or ESH? Because K was definitely an asshole too, even if he had epilepsy. I don’t know, the situation is complicated and he could be lying, so.

I do have a soft spot for the woobified fanon versions of the characters but I also adore them all as dark sadists. Especially Toby, I feel like he’d be super violent to his partners, especially if they’re his prisoners (from least to most sadistic of the Proxies I’d say Kate, Hoodie, Toby, Masky but those are just the ones I’m familiar with and also all of them are pretty damn keen on making their playthings cry). Something about the twisted nature of the Proxies and Proxyhood as a concept just fucking speaks to me

“The updates are making me like Idia more, but in the same way you'd like a character for being pathetic” I’m shocked you didn’t like Idia at least from what I remember? He’s basically the same as Rollo (a character you do like I think) and in more ways than one. They’re both gloomy looking guys and traumatized big bros that are self righteous and pathetic. What kept you from liking Idia before if you don’t mind me asking?

Okay, confession time: when I was a little kid (I��m talking like 7-10 years old), I was SUPER into Greek mythology and more specifically the story of Hades and Persephone. I ate up ALL the Hades and Persephone retellings/reinterpretations I could find and actively hunted for more 💀 so you’d think I’d like Idia, who is twisted from Hades, given how I gravitated to Octavinelle because of my attachment to The Little Mermaid in my childhood…

I think what puts me off of Idia in spite of his similarities to Rollo, a character I do really love, is a combination of Idia's appearance and his attitude.

To tackle the shallower aspect first, I actually don't like characters that look "too" gloomy. I would say Rollo is stoic-looking, but not gloomy? He has a pretty neutral face most of the time and the only gloomy thing about him at a glance is the dark circles under his eyes. With Idia... There's a LOT going on here. The hair is definitely unique, but I've never been into super long hair. The nature of it kind of overshadows his face and Idia usually looks miserable as a default. I've mentioned before that I'm unnerved by his coloration too; the super pale skin plus the blue lips is reminiscent of a corpse and, well... while I do see there being an audience that finds him beautiful, I don't think that's a cute look for him.

Now, his attitude. I'm not going to fault Idia for being passionate about his hobbies, as we all have our niches that we're super into. What irks me is how Idia expresses himself and acts out on behalf of those interests. He talks down to people who "don't get it" and takes other measures to defend the things he likes that I think is crossing a line. For example, he tracks down the IP addresses of Ignihyde mob students that defaced his favorite idol group's website. In the EN version, Idia threatens to doxx the mobs too (though he never does, this was just a localization decision). Yeah, you could do that I guess... but should you? 😭 The other characters also do questionable things (as a J word fan, I cannot deny this) but those actions are usually so outlandish no one irl would do it (like how Azul is a high school student that runs his own shady business). Idia's behavior, meanwhile, embodies some very real and very toxic aspects of fandom culture. I think part of why I disliked Idia at first is also his manner of speaking; it's riddled with so much internet lingo that it's hard to take him seriously sometimes. This is even more true of the EN version of the game, which has added even more slang than was in JP. Like... sorry, am I NOT supposed to be giggling when OB Idia is making threats while talking like an enraged gamer (both in EN and JP)? There is a ceiling on how much pathetic I can take in one sitting, and Idia far exceeds it every time he talks. Other characters (like Rollo making cheesy villain speeches, Azul being teased, Jamil's DOKKAN, etc.) have their moments of funny ha ha-cringe as well, but at least I can still see them in a serious light.

Books 6 and 7 are enhancing my opinion of Idia solely because they focus on the "traumatized big brother" part to his character. In Glorious Masquerade too... Idia gets the courage to call Rollo out because he knows their experiences are so similar. I think the storyline was done very well, and I loved seeing how Idia grows from an event that no doubt affected him deeply and still continues to influence him to this day. It's clear that he cares deeply about both Orthos and will step up to protect them. I LOVE THAT FOR HIM, it's not as though Idia is completely throwing aside one brother for the other, he's acknowledging them both as his "true" brothers. The way he goes from laughing to crying in his post-OB flashback... Idia getting so mad at us attacking Phantom Ortho with lightning... the willingness to "go" with OG!Ortho to the world beyond... apologizing to Robo!Ortho for falling for the dream's promises of eternal happiness... Aaaah, it's just too good 😭

Listen. I am not a Souvieshu fan, but I am a Souvieshu truther, in the sense that I hate how people misinterpret his character. People in this fandom seem to genuinely think Souvieshu is a guy who will chase any pretty woman, or that he’s a creep who specifically wants women who are childish, and easy to control, but like. Neither of these are true? (Souvieshu is still absolutely a creepy weirdo but like. In a different way. I’m sick of fans using the word pedophilic to describe Souvieshu, because it’s not even fucking correct in application to him, even when used as a short hand for when someone likes childish, sheltered and innocent people. Like this is a side note but you people have got to stop throwing that fucking word around.)

Souvieshu doesn’t want just any pretty woman. He specifically has only ever, truthfully and genuinely loved Navier, even if that love has become warped, and that’s a fact. Rashta is his side piece, yes, but it’s clear that Rashta is just some girl that he’s infatuated with, to fulfill his emotional needs, and eventually, for his political ones as well. He was never in love with her. It’s always been obvious that Souvieshu craved Navier’s affection, and that he has been wanting to try and not only make her happy, but rekindle their bond.

Please take note that:

1. Souvieshu knows Navier puts on a mask for people. These two used to be super close, and that likely carried on a bit into their marriage. But eventually, Navier starts putting up walls, and eventually, she starts doing it to him. There could be plenty of reasons for this, but it doesn’t matter, because they both seemed to have mutually drifted apart. Souvieshu is shown actively trying to get past her facade, although, he does so poorly, because he comes at her with a sense of entitlement most of the time.

2. Souvieshu likes Rashta, because Rashta gives him what he craves from Navier; which is to say, Rashta gives him affection, is expressive, has easygoing and light hearted conversations with him, and is able to speak honestly with him. Things that he and Navier used to be able to do with one another. His literal first observation of Rashta, is that she’s easily pleased and excited over small things, which is directly paralleled to a later chapter, where Souvieshu and Navier dine together on her birthday. Souvieshu asks Navier to smile, to which, she complies and gives him a fake one, and Souvieshu then asks her to be sincere about it. Navier makes a comment about needing to be actually happy to do that, so Souvieshu tries to make her happy by giving her a gift. This doesn’t go well with Navier, and like most of their arguments, Souvieshu ends up wishing that Navier could just be more expressive in a sincere, non-petty manner. He is always asking Navier to drop her mask with him. With Rashta, Souvieshu didn’t initially have to dig past a mask to know how she felt. Souvieshu liked her honesty and openness, and while he considered her innocence and childish nature part of her charm, it’s also implied that those traits are traits he could only handle when he was in the mood for it. It’s not actually something he likes, and we see further along the story that her childishness begins to grate on him. Furthermore, there’s a point in the story where he becomes sick, and he mentions that Rashta is not a calming presence, but Navier is.

3. This is the big one (and also me just making observations and assumptions), but both Souvieshu and Navier didn’t know that they loved each other. This is a big one for Souvieshu specifically, because he never assumed that Navier loved him, the way he loved her. I’m sure that’s probably one of the big reasons why he took Rashta in as his consort— and it’s because he sincerely thought Navier wouldn’t care beyond it being a possible image issue, and he genuinely thought that it wouldn’t hurt her. It’s actually Navier who is frequently bringing up that their marriage is one of convenience in her inner monologues— although I don’t doubt that she’s actually brought it up before as well, which probably wouldn’t help his assumptions that Navier wouldn’t be hurt if he brought a consort in.

Do you know why, it’s so upsetting to see Souvieshu mischaracterized? It’s because (outside of how people just slap on whatever term they think is fitting of him) Souvieshu’s side of the story is just as important as Navier’s when it comes to the intensity of the tragedy, that is their lost friendship and love. The gut wrenching heartbreak here, isn’t just from Navier being effectively cheated on, but it’s the fact that they both loved each other, and that all of this heartbreak could have been avoided if they both sincerely talked to each other without any hidden motives. Souvieshu didn’t seem like a bad guy before he took Rashta as his consort. As a matter of fact, I’m fairly certain that if Navier and Souvieshu had patched their relationship, and even confessed to one another, that Souvieshu would have brought Rashta in as a servant—possibly even asking Navier to make her a lady in waiting. Souvieshu wouldn’t have been so emotionally deprived to want Rashta, Navier wouldn’t have had reasons (that she couldn’t get past) to hate Rashta, and Rashta wouldn’t have had a reason to hate Navier.

And to be clear and reiterate, I do not like Souvieshu as a person. He’s a possessive, hypocritical freak, who didn’t take the time to actually get to know Navier again, and was almost always the instigator in their arguments. His love for Navier has warped and changed, and even if it’s ‘genuine’ in the sense that he sincerely loves her, it’s still not healthy. I am not an apologist, I just think he’s an interesting character. His character being misinterpreted, dilutes the tragedy of his relationship with Navier, full stop, and that is what frustrates me.

One would think after weeks spent in the company of loneliness and random mind-numbing activities, a familiar face would be welcomed. One would think. 

But it’s an interesting situation to be put in when the mere idea of another person seems to bring only terror and fright. It is not because you fear being harmed. No no. It is quite the opposite. Being cared for is, in this situation, the most frightening thing to face. 

What if you can’t be cared for? What then? Are you to be left alone again? Only this time, knowing all hope of feeling a semblance of peace, has been shattered under the palm of a kind soul that has never possessed the power to hurt you? 

It is an odd thought indeed. That care can harm. 

And so, when the inevitable phone call came, you watched the screen light up and listened to the ringtone ripple through the quiet until ‘missed call’ appeared moments later. 

Not even two minutes had passed before knocking came from the front door; knowing who it was, you ignored the persistent knocks. She’d let herself in by her means. Purple smoke filled the hallway, and Regina appeared. Her eyes darted around, trying to locate you, until they landed on your bedroom door. 

You stood there, unmoving and staring at Regina expectantly. 

“Can I help you?” you asked with a raised brow and an unamused smile. 

“No. You don’t get to do this,” Regina started, already getting fired up and walking over to you, “you don’t get to push me away.” 

“That's ironic coming from you.” It was a low blow, you knew it was, but it was all you could do to get her to leave, “I don’t want you here.” 

The silence that fell over the room was not a welcome one. It differed from the kind you often found yourself sitting in simply because you weren’t alone now. There was someone in front of you, and she was staring at you with so much determination in your eyes you swore you would die on the spot if the quiet didn’t eat you up first. 

“Screw it,” Regina whispered. She surged forward, placing her hands on either side of your face and closing the space between your lips. 

You wanted to fight the warm feeling in your stomach, reject it, and wholeheartedly believe you’d be okay with throwing whatever this was away. You knew you couldn’t, and so you gave in. 

Her lips were soft, and the kiss slow. There was no intention for things to escalate more than Regina needing you to know she wasn’t going anywhere. Despite that, you wanted more. Your hands went straight to the buttons of her blouse, practically ripping them off in an effort to feel her as quickly as possible. 

“Slow down,” she whispered in your ear, placing her hand over the one on her exposed chest and moaning at the open-mouthed kisses you began to drop all over her neck, “I’m not going anywhere.”

“Please.” It was all you could say to express how badly you needed this. You didn’t want to talk. You didn’t want to divulge everything that had been going on in your head. You only wanted to feel something real, something tangible to hold onto at a time when everything was out of grasp, “Please.” 

Regina understood. She guided you both into the bedroom and quickly undressed you, kissing and caressing every inch of your skin once revealed. Slowly, she pushed you back onto the soft sheets before crawling over your naked body. 

Your leg wrapped around her waist, instinctively needing to feel more of her, and Regina brought her hand down to hold it firmly.  

“I want you.” you breathed onto her lips. 

“I know. I’m right here,” she muttered, placing a hand between your thighs and tracing a finger through your wetness, “Is this what you want?” 

Her tone did not suggest she had asked the question sexually; she genuinely wanted to know. She needed to know whether she was doing the right thing, and the vulnerability that shone in her eyes as she looked down on you told you as much. Your heart shattered in your chest, knowing she’d do anything at this moment to help, and the pain only intensified the more her gaze fixated on you.

“Inside. I want your fingers inside me,” you told her after a short pause, guiding her fingers to your entrance. 

The moment two fingers entered you, whimpers joined Regina’s deep breaths. You felt her fill you perfectly, and suddenly, the world came crashing down. It was as though the reality of pushing Regina away, pushing everyone away, had dawned on you now you had her close. You never wanted to let her go again. 

Regina’s fingers began to pump in, and out of you, she kept the pace easy, and each time she slid in and out, she did so gently, making the moment that much more real. You felt alive. For the first time in weeks, you felt present. And it hurt like a bitch.

tengen was able to find you because a demon attacked your family. he saved them and when he learned about you, uzui felt a strange feeling in his chest. he asked your parents to marry you, he was sure it was the only way to take you away.

“all i ask for is to marry your daughter.”

that’s what he said. you feared he would treat you like garbage, using you and probably get rid of you the moment you were no longer useful.

tengen took you with him as soon as possible and once you reached his big house, you met his other wives. you were truly surprised, not only because they were beautiful and stunning women, but because he got four wives now.

“oh, tengen-sama! you’re finally back!” suma cheerfully ran to hug him, hiding her face into his uniform. makio and hinatsuru welcomed him home too and then got closer to you, noticing your status.

you instinctively flinched back when hina tried to touch you, checking if you were injured or something. “who’s that?” makio asked, glancing at her husband. “this sweetheart right here is y/n, she’s part of the family now. let her feel at home… or maybe not, i imagine,” tengen got a bit lost in his thoughts in the end, but then suma appeared in front of you.

“hello! i am suma!” she smiled at you and once again you found yourself putting as much distance as possible between you and them. tengen noticed you were scared and that the only words he heard from you were ‘thank you’ and ‘i’m sorry’. he frowned at that.

“don’t be so loud, silly!” makio scolded suma, raising her voice too. hinatsuru tried to calm the two down before they started discussing in front of you and then tried once again to get closer to you. “i’m hinatsuru… why don’t you come inside to get a bath and change your clothes?” she gently asked, not sure about grabbing your hands or not. “tengen-sama, makio-san just hit me!” she cried, pointing at her. “stop screaming!”

“do what you gotta do, hina. i’ll take them away,” tengen glanced at hinatsuru and then grabbed both makio and suma, lifting them off the ground, and walked away, ignoring their protests.

“i’m sorry about the commotion, suma-chan gets excited easily but she’s totally harmless, i swear,” she smiled and guided you inside. “well, makio does hit her sometimes but she’s alright too.”

hearing hina laughing relaxed you a bit. you glanced around the house, before being taken to the bathroom. hina helped you bathing and then gave you a fresh and clean kimono, then she combed your hair.

“thank you,” you whispered, surprising her. it was the first time she heard your voice. “oh, i’m glad tengen-sama helped you and brought you with him. you’re very welcome and this is your home now,” hinatsuru’s words warmed up your chest and you nodded slowly.

after that, things started getting better. you weren’t scared about them anymore, but still you found yourself comparing yourself to the three of them. you wondered what pushed tengen to free you and take you with him.

you were quiet most of the time, choosing to listen to them chatting instead of actively taking part in the conversation. they tried to not spend too much time all together to avoid making you feel overwhelmed, and you silently appreciated it.

tengen never forced you to stay with them though, he said that you were free to leave them if you weren’t happy or if you simply wanted to wander around free, without being held back by others. but truth is, you grew fond of them all. you actually loved your new family, you enjoyed living together and they all noticed you were finally opening up.

“the food was amazing as always,” you complimented hina, who smiled. “suma-chan helped me,” she tickled suma’s side and you smiled. “y/n, do you want to go to the village for shopping later? we can buy you some new kimonos too,” makio offered, waiting for your answer. “oh, i… i would like to go, makio-san,” you nodded slowly, a bit uncertain.

“that’s a very flashy idea!” tengen’s voice filled the room, getting your attention. “i’m sure you will enjoy yourself,” he gently caressed your cheek and you felt your skin heating up. “ooh, i want a caress too! tengen-sama, tengen-sama!” suma got closer to uzui and pleaded him, making everyone chuckle.

he patted her head, making her smile, and caressed her hair. “i have the most beautiful wives in the world. i don’t deserve you,” he muttered, making you all frown. “don’t say that. you’re an amazing person, you’re kind and nice, you help and protect the innocent… and you saved me. we are lucky to have you.”

your words surprised them and filled tengen’s heart with pure adoration for you. he loved you all equally and would willingly sacrifice his life to protect the four of you.

“okay, it’s time for a big ol’ hug,” hina pulled you all together and you almost got squished between makio and tengen’s side, but you all laughed happily together.

So, L falling in love. Putting this under a read-more because my stupid ass is going to ramble.

I think he would usually fall in love with people who are relatively capable. I have no idea how to describe this more. You wouldn't have to be some genius, just be able to operate independently because the man is no caregiver. Also, I think you'd have to make an impression of some sort on him, otherwise he probably wouldn't even pay enough attention to get to know you. A big trait L would like to see in someone is understanding. You're gonna have to be able to at least tolerate his attitude and more bizarre mannerisms if you intend on becoming a permanent fixture in his life. Even more than that, he would want someone who would be able to understand just what kind of person he is: how he's not exactly pure, how he would rather do things if they interest him instead of doing them out of the goodness of his heart, the things he's willing to do to get the results he wants. You don't need to agree with him on everything, he probably would like it more if you didn't. You can't change him, but it gives him more to think about when he weighs his decisions.

So! L falling in love. I did touch on this in a previous post, but I'll paste what I said here:

L will know as soon as his feelings appear. Depending on what he's doing at the time, this discovery could be anywhere between a mental footnote and an outright statement directed towards you. He's become fond of you, far beyond a passing fancy or a momentary infatuation. He'll be requesting your input on whatever he's been working on, or making sure Watari knows to bring extra sweets when you're present. If you're really lucky, he might just feed them to you.

I think it's something he would figure out super quickly and then just. Sit on until he's pretty sure you feel the same. He doesn't want to have to confess just to find that you don't share his affection. 10/10 you can just expect a "I've fallen for you" from him and have no idea how genuine it is because it wouldn't be unusual for him to say things like that to get a reaction. You would have to pay attention to how he interacts with you and matters regarding you to know just how true his statement was. (To a point, I think he'd kinda be lowkey obsessed with you. Like, he's not gonna be thinking about you all the time or think about you over the case he's currently working on, but there's definitely something there.)

Things you can expect from L when the two of you are an item:

Don't be surprised if he encourages you to pick up some kind of defensive martial arts. He knows several, so it's really not a shocker. The man's really thinking you need to learn how to beat the shit out of someone so it's one less thing he has to worry about now that he's let you in.

Luxury. Absolute Luxury. L's funds are near bottomless as far as you should be concerned. You have his heart but he's not always the most emotionally available, so you have his wallet. If you're travelling with him, he's actively making sure you get the best. Watari probably would've picked up on your tastes and knows to accommodate them if he wants the detective's best work. An extra slice of cake meant for you? Sure. A whole floor of the headquarters building just for you? Take two.

Vulnerability! Holy shit, vulnerability. It's something that's so rare for him to show. He's almost always working like, five steps ahead of everything else, why would he need to be vulnerable? I think I can count the times he's canonically showed his cards on one hand and most of them were in the episode where he fuckin' dies(showing some regret over the deaths of the FBI agents, the interaction he has with Watari in the monitoring room where the older man asks him what's wrong or w/e, the rooftop scene, the foot thing, and then him dying.) He's more willing to show the cracks in his façade to you, and that in itself is super powerful evidence about how you make him feel.

I absolutely think he would have some kind of system set up to look after you if something happened to him. They had the dead man's switch to let Roger know if L died so whatever successor would know to take over without letting the world know the original L was gone, but that seems more like something Watari would've insisted on. A place to live, expendable funds, hell there's probably options for a new identity in there somewhere if that's what you'd want.

My complicated thoughts about KTH

I’ve said before that I love all the members of BTS, and I do. I also put in my about me that if I had to rank the members in order of my favorites, I could. And it would be according to who I gravitate to the most both musically and personality wise. Taehyung has always puzzled me. He’s eccentric, a free spirit, and not someone that I would probably get along well with in my personal life. But he’s entertaining and clearly a beloved member of BTS by the members themselves, so I enjoy watching his interactions with them on stage and in content such as Run BTS.

In Chapter 2 though… I don’t know how to feel. I try to see nuance in just about everything especially when it’s something I have extremely limited facts that I can verify. I am hesitant to label him as some sort of villain attention seeker, but his behavior is puzzling to me to say the least. What I don’t believe in my heart of hearts is that Taehyung would ever do something to purposefully hurt one of his members in a majorly public way. I don’t think he is to blame for the derangement actions of Taekookers. But, he also doesn’t help either. His willingness to name drop JK constantly for no reason in interviews or in two minute lives is super strange. Don’t be active at all on Weverse then? I struggle to find a motive behind it. For the most part, I don’t think his actions bother Jikook because if they did, I’m sure he would stop. I do think it bothers Jungkook to some extent in the fact that he always has to do damage control against the embellishments that Taehyung tells. I don’t think Taehyung is bothered by the constant influx of Taekook comments when he’s live, but I think Jungkook is bothered sometimes, hence his willingness to set the record straight and bring up Jimin because that is who is on his mind and who he gravitates towards not Tae.

Taehyung used to be the “get out of your imagination” guy. And no matter how Tkks try to spin that, the man meant what he said back then. I don’t know exactly when the transition started, but it seems to be in this Chapter 2 soft launch of his equally famous girlfriend that didn’t go over super well with either fandom. My guess is that wasn’t the reaction he was expecting and now he’s backtracking to appease his “fanbase.” He’s probably a bit bitter over it too. I wish he cared less about Tkks and his solo stans, and I’m hopeful that he will forget about their nonsense once the 7 members are back together. If I was Jennie, I wouldn’t be thrilled by his actions. I would understand the hesitancy of going full public with the relationship, but only bringing up one member (the one you are shipped with the most) every time you decide to go live to see fans for two seconds or have an interview about your album is weird to me.

But again, I’m trying not to read too much into it or project my own feelings towards it too much. I’m sure if it bothers Jikook, things will be worked out behind the scenes. Time will tell if this behavior continues, and if one day it stops, I would have a good guess as to why.

Kaishin Reveal and What It Means For You

Okay I need everyone to keep their shit together because I think this is being blown out of proportion. What follows is a quick rant about what the hell is going in the DCMK fandom and what is going on in fandom in general cause I don’t know why I’m seeing so many people lose their shit over something that was most likely going to happen followed by a quick lesson by a ‘fandom elder’ on how to ignore canon and make a ship your own. 

Spoilers ahead and whatnot. 

April 11th the DCMK 27 movie came out and information was revealed about how Kaito Kuroba and Shinichi Kudou are now cousins. Twitter lost its mind, Tumblr lost its mind, Discord servers are being created and now everyone is wondering what the hell should they do. 

I’m going to be honest, if you are a creator for KaiShin, please don’t delete your work. 

Either archive it or orphan it but please don’t delete it.

You put time and effort into this, into something you love, and just because the mangaka is so SO set in his ways of every single ship being friends to lovers does not mean you have to follow the same format. This doesn’t make you an incest shipper or whatever, it doesn’t make you a person who you don’t want to be, it’s just something that you had no idea of knowing was going to happen and I hope that you can look back at it fondly. 

Anyways, for those enjoying Kaishin on the sidelines all I’m going to say is Pick a Lane. 

Ignore Canon 

If you are an old time shipper then this may not be new for you. I mean Gosho literally had another ship that turned out to be cousins like at this point it’s ‘who is my cousin’ being played in the entire Detective Conan manga. You either already guessed it, are an active incest shipper (hi, hello, tis a me) or you are used to your favourites dying. This situation is no fucking different. 

Wolfwood is dead, in my head he is alive and well and treating his Plant husband right. 

Sora is missing, not in my head where he is kissing Roxas and Riku and Kairi and whoever else wants to get at the sunshine of the KH universe. 

Ben is dead, NOT IN MY REYLO FANFICTION. 

If you are a person who actively kept up with the manga or actively kept up with the show it is possible to ignore canon because they do not suddenly go super deep into being cousins and knowing about each other. They both don’t know if they are cousins or else the jig would be up immediately and the manga would be finished. You CAN ignore canon and if Kaishin is a ship that brings you joy and just serotonin production I implore you guys to choose this lane if you still want to enjoy Kaishin. 

It’s by far the healthiest option and teaches you how to curate your own fandom experience. 

Alternate Universes and You 

I was in the Hannibal fandom for a while and I clearly remember the ‘Hannibal is not a Cannibal’ tag on AO3. I thought it was hilarious but I would never dare to make fun of it because that is a prime example of CURATING YOUR FANDOM EXPERIENCE.

Or just make a quick blurb of how you mean this drawing/fic to be perceived. Again, this is your experience and you get to make the space you want to make. It’s up to you to make/interact with the content that makes you most comfortable. Again, if you want to delve into AU’s then that is up to you and I think it’s a pretty good lane for those who just feel weird about the whole reveal. 

Stepping Away

Your moral values are your own, people, and I am in no position or even want to judge them. If you feel uncomfortable about this now, see your love for Kaishin diminishing because of the reveal or just don’t see yourself shipping Kaishin in the future then you are more than capable of measuring your response and stepping away from the ship entirely for your own health. 

Is it going to be sad? Yes, but they are fictional and I recommend having an idea of what you have in your life outside of fandom that makes you happy that you can focus on as you go through this. College, work, whatever hobbies you may have taken up–hell put all your eggs into another ship that you know also brings you joy! 

Do not let this dictate your day or your month or your year. This is just fandom, you don’t have to make a big statement unless asked about it, you do not have to justify your decision to anybody, curate.your.fandom.experience. 

I’m going to end this with a repeat of what I just said. 

This is all fictional. We are playing in a fictional sandbox where we can all make whatever we want in any capacity and as long as it is tagged correctly then nobody’s lines have to be crossed. If you just started enjoying Kaishin, find out how you still want to enjoy it or step away. If you have shipped Kaishin for a while, do the same fucking thing! The east side of the fandom is having a field day with the movie, why can’t the west have some fun too?! 

I’m going to ship Kaishin (however all my reblogs will be moved to my other blog for incest-y stuff and just other content people may not vibe with in general) and hell I might just join the Kaishin Big Bang for the hell of it because I have been shipping this ship since I was 15 years old and I’m about to be 30 so….I’m staying fucking seated cause you aren’t getting me out of this chair, Aoyama, you aren’t getting me to ship Aoko with anyone other an Akako so suck on that.
