for the oc/character ask game! -
either “The Lost” or “The Sea”, whichever speaks to you more :)
The one that speaks to me the most, huh...?
I would do this other character that's more of a character than this one, but this one is connected to this other character that's been rotating in my brain for A WHILE
The ocean was dangerous. Filled with creatures that no one understood. Their village was near the ocean, but they only relied on the ocean for simple things.
Survival.
Not living.
Slowly, the call of the ocean seduced them. They came back to land less and less. Their hair was bleached from the sun and dry from the saltwater. Their fingers and toes were wrinkled.
They loved the creatures they swam with. They were alive, just like them. They lived, not just survived.
They studied the creatures. Learned about them, swam alongside them. Watched them grow and die.
The ocean was beautiful.
Their village wasn't thrilled with this.
"You threw your lot in with the beasts," their village accused.
No one blinked an eye when some of the "beasts" got beached. "Free food, or a riddance."
No one blinked an eye when they stood alongside the creatures.
It was silent that day, save for their screams as shocks ran through their body as they lay their body over the beached creatures as their village killed them all.
The ocean was home.

“Do you love me?”
Tumblr media
ꨄ︎ Wanderer *✧・゚
“Do stupid questions just come naturally to you or something? Of course, I love you. What made you doubt it?” You explained that it was just a question with no hidden meaning behind it. “Ok, weirdo. Yeah, I love you. If you wanted me to say it, all you had to do was say it first. Not make me think you’re questioning my feelings towards you.”
ꨄ︎ Kamisato Ayato *✧・゚
“Huh? Oh- of course, I do. Did someone say something to you? You’ve never questioned my love before.” His confusion was quickly laid to rest once you clarified it was just a silly question. “Oh, well I wouldn’t consider it silly. I adore you, so much so, that I can’t be away from you for too long. Or I’ll start missing you and then I can’t do my work.”
ꨄ︎ Alhaitham *✧・゚
“Yeah I guess I do.” Alhaitham immediately stiffens when he sees that look in your eyes. “Wait, no! Hold on. That’s not what I meant. I… it’s new to me. Feeling that way towards someone so much that it hurts is new. I didn’t mean that I guess I l-love you. I mean… yes, I do. So much that I can’t even put it into words.”
ꨄ︎ Kazuha *✧・゚
“Just love you? Sometimes, I feel those words are too simple to explain how much I need you. But yes, I love you. Should you break my heart tomorrow, curse me to the hells, and abandon me… it wouldn’t change how I feel. Not one bit. You don’t need to love me back or be kind to me, even. But, thank you for loving me too.”

— in love with him so. (18+ mdni. nsfw content below the cut.) also such a fun way to make my comeback hehe hope u love ♥️
Tumblr media
not many could have predicted luke castellan was a virgin.
in all his grandeur and glory and valor, the greatest swordsman at camp has only ever felt that carnal pleasure derived from his own fist. it’s not like it’s a priority of his or anything, what with planning for a war between gods taking dramatic precedent over mere lust.
however you, on the other hand, weren’t necessarily the ‘opposite’ per se, but you still liked to let loose every once in a while—with sneaking away at bonfires and parties kept clandestine from chiron, you found worthwhile hook-ups here and there amidst the chaos of demigod life.
so when you find yourself straddling luke with lips and teeth and tongues in a heated clash, surprise settles over you when the whispered confession slips past his lips. “i—i haven’t done anything like… this before. is that… is that okay?”
to see the pure symbol of confidence and surety stumble over his words because of you and what was to come at your hands was a gratifying feat, but you didn’t want to drive him away by poking fun.
“that’s okay, we can go slow,” your words were meant to be reassuring, but luke’s eyes widen as he shakes his head vigorously. “no, no. i want you—all of you. don’t hold back. please.” his eyes are so piercingly sincere and it almost breaks your heart as you press a ginger, yet still passionate, kiss on the scar etched on his cheek, and then his lipstick-stained mouth.
you’re wordless as you move off of his lap and onto your knees in front of him. “is this okay?” you look up at him through your eyelashes as you play with the hem of his gray sweats to be met with a heavy-breathing luke, his bottom lip caught between his teeth. “yes, please.”
“so polite,” you tease before pulling his sweatpants and boxers down in one go. his achingly hard cock springs out from the restrictive confines and rests insatiably on his lower abs.
he was so pretty: a veiny girth with a leaky, red, tip. pre-cum seeped from his slit and you wrapped your hand around the base before kitten-licking it all off, earning an impatient groan from luke. “fuck,” he breathes, and you notice how his hands are balled into fists on the chair’s arms. “you can touch me, luke. i won’t bite.” you press a lust-filled kiss to the side of the length before dragging your tongue along a prominent vein. he curses under his breath at the sight.
luke’s large hands timidly moved to rake through the hair on your scalp, before growing more confident and gathering most of it into a make-shift ponytail. “good boy,” your voice is sickeningly sweet as you continue peppering teasing kisses along his cock, determined to savour this positively transcendent view you’re pleased to know only you have had the pleasure of beholding.
it seemed the both of you have grown tired of your teasing when luke tried to push your head down onto his cock desperately. “ah, ah, ah. patience, angel. i know, baby. i’ll get there soon, hm?” you nod, and luke nods with you, before you finally lower your warm mouth onto his painfully hard cock. “sh-shit!” his voice accelerates in volume as your head begins bobbing up and down his dick, making chaste stops at his tips to swirl your tongue around it greedily. the sounds are disgusting: your saliva mixed in with his pre, slurping his alacritous cock like you can’t get enough, like you’re starved (you can’t, and you are)—his whimpers and moans and whines urge you further, the way your name spills out from him like an incantation between cries of pleasure sends jolts through you every time you hear it.
and you don’t neglect indulging in the sight before you. his head is thrown back as he loses himself in the brain-numbing pleasure, sweat glistening on his defined collarbones. you aren’t sure you’ve ever viewed a more perfectly erotic scene.
“fuck, fuck, fuck. wait, wait, i think i’m gonna—!“ quite selfishly, he holds your head down onto his cock as his abs flex through his orgasm, tip prodding at your throat, causing a sore to begin to dwell. luke’s cum is warm as it slides down your throat and it’s easy to swallow with its delicious balance of saltiness and saccharinity.
“sorry—i’m sorry,” luke breathes effortfully as his climax subdues and you regretfully take your head off of luke for the last time. “it’s okay, luke. how was it?” your voice was raspy from the abuse on your throat and luke could’ve sworn he felt his cock hardening once again.
“so fucking good. thank you. will you… let me make it up to you?”

you can start a family (who will always show you love)
| alessia russo x reader | fluff (and some minuscule angst) | 2.1k | disclaimer: mentions of a broken childhood and toxic parents | a/n: based on this ask. been a minute since i wrote anything proper so criticism/feedback is very much appreciated. be as harsh as you want :) sorry for how long this took and i hope this is alright! happy reading 🫶
~~~
“Penny for your thoughts?”
You hummed as you heard the words, a tired smile resting on your lips as you felt a familiar pair of arms wrap around your waist, pulling you in steadily, warmth seeping into your bones.
You’d been standing around the corner of the kitchen, a handful of metres away from the living room, after excusing for a moment, deciding that you just needed a minute to yourself.
You certainly didn’t expect the blonde to follow you.
Leaning your head back gently onto Alessia’s shoulder, you closed your eyes as you revelled in the touch.
“It’s…-”
Face scrunched as you thought deeply to find the words, you sighed before continuing, “It’s different...”
You paused for a second, choosing your next words wisely as you tried to find ones that could do justice to the voices in your head.
Nodding to yourself, you continued. “Yeah. Like a good different, but different y’know?”
Swallowing hard as you spoke the realisation into existence, you didn’t even realize how harshly you were gripping the blonde’s arm until she gently tugged your hand away.
Feeling Alessia’s hands intertwine with your own, thumb rubbing comforting circles over the back of your hand almost as if she knew the words weren’t easy to admit for you, you felt some of the tension dissipate from your shoulders.
The admission was not what the striker was expecting at all, but was more than happy to hear, a small smile crossing her face, heart swelling with pride at her own family.
“I’m not used to it being this easy.”
Your confession was quiet, nearly getting lost in the energetic chatter and excitement occurring a few metres away from the two of you, yet the taller girl heard it clear as day.
You weren’t close with your family- not much from the start and certainly not anymore.
Who would’ve thought that two toxic parents and a marriage that was never meant to last coupled with the news of you coming out would’ve resulted in you being promptly asked to leave a house that never quite felt like home.
It never really had come as a surprise to you, to be honest.
In fact, you’d already been prepared to be kicked out- having slowly begun the process of moving out months before it happened, getting ready for that exact day to come.
So when it finally did occur, you had bid your deuces quietly, mournfully packing away the naive hope of being part of a happy, loving family.
Grimacing to yourself as you tuned back into the moment and realized the rabbit hole you’d just gone down, you shook your head slightly, trying to derail your train of thought from progressing any further.
The action didn’t go unnoticed by the taller girl behind you, her hold tightening a tad bit.
You smiled wryly as you felt Alessia press a comforting kiss to your temple, lips lingering as she tried to convey just how much appreciated your presence.
The both of you were currently at Alessia’s childhood home, having been invited for a small family gathering celebrating the Lionesses’ and mainly Alessia’s World Cup run.
This was also your first time meeting your girlfriend’s family.
Between the nervousness coursing through your veins all throughout dinner and wanting to make the best first impression, yet being in constant awe of just how light everything felt, the evening left you drained, in a good way of course.
You weren’t used to dinners full of laughter and gentle teasing. Never mind that everything was home cooked and Alessia’s mum had made sure to check in with you regarding any allergies of any sort.
Too accustomed to take out quietly eaten in your own room as a child, whilst your background noise would be full of yelling and the occasional smash of a plate or a remote, it had been jarring to witness the Russo siblings rib at each other goodnaturedly, laughing even through the worst teasing as Mario and Carol had watched with smiles on their faces, taking sides as necessary to keep the teasing going.
Safe to say, it had been an overwhelming past few hours for you, and all in all, your social battery was dangerously on the brink of exhaustion after three hours.
Shuffling further back into Alessia’s hold, you let the emotions of the day wash over you, tension escaping you slowly as you took a deep breath in.
“You know they love you already right?”
The sentence was quiet, murmured against your crown and punctuated with a small kiss.
You know the words were meant to bring you comfort, to soothe your bubbling emotions, yet all you felt was the rock in your throat grow, eyes stinging with unshed tears despite being shut as your mind fully comprehended what Alessia had said.
Opening your mouth to respond, you flexed your jaw as you willed for words to come out.
Only a shuddering breath escaped you however, your hand quickly leaving Alessia’s as you hastily came to swipe away the few tears that had fallen before anyone could see them.
The blonde caught the action, not that you were trying to hide it, and before you knew it, you were being gently spun around, soft hands coming to tenderly wipe away at your cheeks as you scrunched your eyes at the sting of the sharp ceiling lights.
She was aware of what your childhood had been like, it being something you'd discussed somewhat early on in the relationship when the topic of having kids and a family came up.
She had known you'd been terrified of meeting her family, not at all used to having a parental figures that didn't speak in annoyance and guilt-tripping.
So when you'd hastily excused yourself as everyone settled down for a movie, the striker figured that maybe a moment to yourself may have not been what you needed.
And she was right.
Blue eyes scanning your face for any sign of discomfort, you felt Alessia’s hands slowly slide down from your cheeks, the stark disappearance of their warmth causing your face to scrunch up in displeasure.
Just having Alessia around you brought you a small bit of comfort- comfort that you didn't weren't ready to lose just yet.
Opening your eyes, ready to protest at the removal of her touch, you were about to pout at Alessia when you picked up the soft padding of feet.
It was only then did you clock the sound of footsteps nearing you, your eyes widening in slight panic as your stomach turned in nervous anticipation, desperately trying to guess who it was.
You didn't want to get in trouble for disappearing from everyone.
You felt Alessia’s hand fall to your arm, rubbing it comfortingly, yet failing to bring you any sense of relief.
In your fear, you didn’t even realize you’d began holding your breath, breathing in shakily as Alessia teasingly asked you not to pass out.
“Less! Is-“
Alessia’s mother rounded the corner, a worried look on her face that quickly morphed into a relieved one as she saw the pair of you.
“Oh good. I was worried.”
Coming to a stop in front of you, the older woman let out a quiet sigh as a gentle smile crossed her face.
Shooting Alessia a questioning glance, Carol turned towards you, giving you a once over and nodding to herself before turning back to Alessia.
“Don’t tell me you’ve been troubling my future daughter-in-law Alessia Mia Teresa Russo.”
The stern look that followed brought a small smile to your face, the concern at your well being bringing a sense of comfort to your panicking state.
“Wha- No! Mum!”
The questioning left Alessia flabbergasted, jaw dropping in shock as she looked at you, then back at her mother, then you again, eyes narrowing this time.
“I’m nice to you and yet this is what I get in return…” the blonde mumbled playfully under her breath, promptly ducking out of the way as her mother swatted teasingly in her direction.
Turning back towards you, Carol shot you a wink before retracting her hand.
“Has she been bothering you? She can be a handful sometimes! Might need to throw her in a timeout for a little bit!”
“Mum!”
You could feel the smile in Alessia’s interjection, not needing to look over to see the fondness in her eyes as stepped towards you again.
“She’s fine. I wasn’t bothering her one bit.”
Studying you intently to make sure Alessia wasn’t lying, Carol tilted her head before nodding in agreement.
“In that case,” you felt an arm wrap around your shoulders as you got pulled away from your girlfriend, “The brownies just finished cooling! Alessia mentioned they’re your favourite.”
And with a pouty Alessia trailing dejectedly behind you, your grin came easy, the comforting hold bringing you a sense of peace you didn’t expect.
You were immensely thankful to the older woman for not bringing attention to your probably red eyes, wordlessly steering you away from the living room where the boys were, and instead straight to the kitchen and into a bar stool before whipping around to fix you some dessert.
Feeling the bar stool next to you screech as Alessia joined you, you shot her a small smile, nodding wordlessly to her questioning gaze.
Reaching out to lock your pinkies together, you mouthed an ‘I promise’, settling Alessia’s worries before she made a move to intertwine your hands, soft smiles crossing both your faces.
Getting abruptly pulled out of your little bubble as a plate was gently put in front of you, you couldn’t help the huge grin that crossed your face at the sight before you- two perfect edge pieces of a brownie topped with a hefty scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Pleasantly shocked at the fact that Alessia not only remembered that this was one of your favourite desserts, but mentioned it to her mother who made it without any fuss or guilt-tripping, your jaw dropped in awe for a split second, feeling your throat tighten in emotion briefly.
“Thank you.”
Your words were quiet, just barely audible even in the near-silence of the kitchen.
Even though Carol just smiled at you, beckoning for you to eat, you were sure she got the message, your two words more than just a quiet appreciation for her making you a plate.
The tender moment was interrupted quickly though, Alessia quickly clocking in to the fact that there was only one plate and only one spoon.
“Hey!”
Watching as Alessia yet again argued with her mother regarding you being the new favourite child of the household, you dug in, looking up with a content smile on your face as you watched Alessia grumble to herself as she got herself a brownie as well, faux-annoyance on her face as grabbed a spoon before making her way back to you.
And as Gio and Luca realized that the brownies had come out of the oven, you watched as they tumbled in, immediately grabbing forks and completely ignoring the tray sitting on the counter, beelining it for Alessia’s plate.
You laughed as the trio fought over Alessia’s dessert, amazed by the way the blonde immediately covered her plate with her hands, shielding it like a prized possession.
Mirth dancing in your eyes as the plate inevitably got snatched from beneath the striker’s protective hold and you easily held your plate out in consolation, a pout meeting your gaze as the blonde dejectedly took a bite whilst casting a dirty look to her brothers.
Pulling your stool closer to Alessia’s you wrapped an arm around her midsection, you leaned into the blonde as you both enjoyed your dessert, Gio and Luca entertaining you both as they decided to fight over another brownie.
Well amused, you turned towards Alessia with a proper smile adorning your face this time, leaning into the blonde and tucking your head into the crook of her neck as you closed your eyes and basked in the homey chaos.
Maybe this family thing didn't have to be so hard after all.
“I love you. Thank you.”
You whispered the words softly enough for only your girlfriend to hear them, placing a small kiss where your lips met her skin before cuddling further into her.
And with a quiet squeeze to your waist in return, accompanied by the three words repeated softly back to you, you knew the blonde understood exactly what you meant.
Thank you for giving me a family I didn’t know I’d ever be worthy to have- for making a house feel like home.
I loveee the concept of reincarnation bc it’s just so comforting!!!
oh to be reincarnated lovers with Bakugou where you find each other every life time and leave a memory of the other to find in the next lifetime. You see each other in a new lifetime, drawn to each other, swearing familiarity even though your minds disagree. But it’s something deeper within you that knows each other, misses the others embrace, and you can’t figure out why.
There’s a famous painting of someone who looks suspiciously like you made in the 1600s by some tortured artist, the muse a lover he had lost years before. There’s a statue that looks just like Bakugou from the 1800s, who everyone thought to be created after Apollo, but you beg to differ. There are letters found between two lovers, one gone off to war and the other at home, their exchange of love something poets discuss in contemporary times. Theres even skeletons found embracing each other, with one’s head tucked into the others neck.
And for some reason, every time, these figments of love appeal to you deeper than anyone else around you. They’re so familiar, and you think you might be going crazy when flashes of memories start to plague you.
Sitting in a darkly lit room, a slate of white marble in front of you, a point chisel in hand. There’s a blond man sitting behind the marble, with a sly grin, as your hands raise to start chipping away at its flawless perfection.
Sitting at home, writing away with a quilled pen to a lover you miss. Kissing the edge of the paper and pulling away to find it stained with red from your lips.
Laying in the soft grass, your face hidden in a strong neck as heavy winds start to take over you. Your arms entangled in another’s, tilting your face up to kiss a blond, stubbled jaw.
When Bakugou tells you he remembers the same things, you wonder if you’re both just on a bad trip from a drug you don’t remember taking. But you carve your names in tree trunks and wonder if you’ll find find it again hundreds of years later, if you’ll see him again, if you’ll create another piece of your unyielding love on every crevice of the earth.
A low sizzling sound of the egg omelette being fried could be heard in the kitchen, as Jungkook stood there, wearing a pair of grey sweatpants while his upper body remained naked, his damp hair swept back, an indication for his recent shower. Oh god, how hot he looked, standing there lost in thoughts of his day at the beach with you yesterday, and the adventures he had with you in the car, causing a smile to naturally play on his lips.
You would have spent more time admiring his muscles and his broad back if it wasn’t for this burning fever that was causing you distress, a result of having to run back to the car in the heavy rain yesterday.
“Achoo,” the sound was heard, pulling Jungkook out of his trance. “Y/n–” Jungkook began, but trailed off as he took in your appearance. Your disoriented pyjamas, the blanket draped over your shoulders, nose red, eyes puffy while a tiredness visible in them, and handful of tissues at your side indicated everything he needed to know.
“Oh, baby,” Jungkook called, walking towards you with open arms, ready to engulf you into a big bear hug, however, you extended your arm straight out, making him pause at arms length. “I’m sick,” you declared. “Yes, I can see that. And?” he questioned, looking at you with furrowed brows. “So, don’t come near me, you’ll get sick as well” you asserted, maintaining the distance between both of you.
“And, I don’t really care,” he declared, giving you a ‘duh’ look before pulling you to him by your extended arm, and caging you within them. A whine of displeasure left your mouth, as you attempted to pry your way out of his hold, keeping your face as far away as possible. Seeing this, Jungkook held you even more tightly, his one hand making its way behind your head, bringing it to rest on his chest.
You wanted to resist, and push him away, but his warmth was what you needed right now, so you wrapped your hands around him and snuggled closer into his chest, as much as physically possible. Minutes passed, but you both remained in the same position, not wanting to leave each other’s comfort. Jungkook placed a small kiss on top of your hair, before lightly resting his chin on your head. “Go and rest in the bedroom, I'll bring you breakfast and some medicine. Hmm?” Jungkook explains softly.
You pull back, nodding slowly as Jungkook wraps the blanket securely around your shoulders, urging you to make your way to the bedroom. Once you were inside the room, you nestled inside a big, warm blanket, to try and get relief from the shivers that were going through your body due to the cold.
A little while later, Jungkook entered with a tray full of yours and his breakfast, along with the medicine for your cold. He sat in front of you, feeding you from one bowl, and himself from another. After ensuring that you had taken the medicine, Jungkook heads back to the kitchen, cleaning up everything quickly, so that he can spend time with you, while taking care of you.
When he entered the bedroom, he saw you bundled up in the blanket like a marshmallow, your eyes closed, as you sought relief from the ill feeling. With soft steps, Jungkook made his way to your side, lifting up the blanket gently, but your inquiry stopped him mid movement of laying down by your side. “Kookie? What are you doing?” You ask, though you already knew the answer, as you shook your head disapprovingly.
“Trying to cuddle with you,” he answers, giving you a puppy look, manipulating you with the cute face to allow him to carry on with his wish. “No, you can not! I don’t want you to get sick. Plus, don’t you have an important meeting tomorrow?” You exclaimed.
“Yes, but-” he tried to defend, while his shining doe eyes did their best to lure you to a yes. However, your glare made him give up his venture and oblige to your wish.
Letting the blanket fall onto the bed that he still had held in his hand, he stormed out of the room, not before giving you a very loud huff, to indicate that he wasn’t happy with this decision.
You once again took to the comfort of your blanket, feeling glad that he listened to your command, and wasn’t being stubborn. You would have loved to cuddle with him at this moment, however, his well being is your top priority, especially since he has important work coming up this week.
A shuffling sound broke your train of thought, as you turned your gaze to see Jungkook setting up a painting easel near your bed. He looked back at you, over his shoulder, “you can stop me from cuddling with you, but you can’t stop me from being in your presence,” he declared, giving you a cheeky smile, earning a chuckle from you.
You turned to your side to better admire your very handsome partner, as he went in and out of the bedroom to bring a canvas and his painting supplies from his art studio.
Your eyes followed the moments of his hands, as he performed his magic. Jungkook was an amazing painter, and his passion for the art form could be seen in his eyes, and in his body language, whenever you would engage in a conversation with him on the topic.
Your eyes would occasionally avert over to his toned body, admiring its every curve. Your eyes trailed the lines of his tattoos, while also studying the muscles underneath that were results for his love for going to the gym. Jungkook loved exercising, but what he loved more was dragging you along with him, to the gym. You were someone who likes to exercise more at home than going to the gym, however, in this case you didn’t mind much, as it gave you a chance to spend more time with him, between your busy schedules.
You continued to admire his body, before moving your eyes to his face, taking in his magnificent beauty. The little piercing on his brow moved slightly, as his brows furrowed in focus as he glided the paintbrush on the canvas. Your eyes made their way to his cheeks that you loved to kiss and at times playfully bit before trailing to his plump lips, that you so desperately wanted to feel against your own. Oh, how you wanted to pull him to yourself and make out with him right at this moment, only if it wasn’t for your cold.
“Enjoying the view, darling?” Jungkook teased, gazing at you mischievously from the corner of his eyes. “Of course. Why wouldn’t I, when there are such beautiful pieces of art right in front of me.” you declared with a lazy smile, as a small blush crept its way to his cheeks. Your smile turned into a one of joy, as it felt nice to see that you still had the same effect on him from years ago, like the one he maintained on you.
You continued to adore him while he worked on his craft, delving into the art form that first caused you to walk into his life. You slowly dozed off into a peaceful slumber as you reminisced over the memory of your first meeting.
8 years ago, late April
You entered the room, wearing a long, sleeveless sundress, accompanied by a red shoulder cardigan, while light blue and white patchwork tote bag, with a thick, red lace ribbon tied into a bow around the intersection of the straps and the body of the bag, hung over your shoulder.
The smell of paint and wood entered your nose as you took in a breath of air inside the space. Painting easels were set up around the centre of the room, where a clothed table was set up for the muse of today’s painting section.
As the exhausting second year of engineering came to an end, your friend suggested going to this live painting class that she had found, as a form of self-care after completing the semester. You couldn’t help but say yes, even though you much rather stay at home and just laze around in your bed during your days before your internship started, but painting was that one thing that ignited a passion, enlightened your soul, and freed you from the boredom of the eversame days.
“Aren’t you excited? We are finally doing something different than having a study date!” Your friend Danielle exclaimed, as she intertwined her arm with yours, pressing her face against your shoulder. You had met her in your first year of university, she approached you complimenting your outfit, and asking about the keychains on your bag, which were about an animated show that she also liked. The friendship blossomed on the basis of common interests, and strengthened over the mutual suffering experienced in your major: you both were in architectural engineering.
“Of course! I am glad to finally be somewhere that isn’t surrounded by books.” You replied with a scrunched face, memories of studying in the library for hours on end for your finals coming back to you. You and Danielle continued discussing the internships you both were doing over the summer, and other hangout plans, before the sound of a clap brought everyone’s attention to the front of the class.
A man with purple dyed hair, stood there with a gentle, welcoming smile, small hints of dimples appearing on his cheeks. “Hello everyone! I’m Kim Namjoon, and I’ll be the coordinator for today’s session” he introduced, his smile growing, making his dimples more prominent to the eyes.
“And, this is Jungkook, he will be our muse for today,” Namjoon explained, hands motioning to the figure that stood by his side. Your eye travelled to the man wearing a loose white shirt, along with the same coloured trousers. His right arm was embellished with ink, forming intricate patterns, symbolising different meanings, unknown to anyone but him. Your eyes gazed over his bare face; it was beautiful. However, it was those doe eyes that had catched your infatuation. Wispy bangs were scattered across his forehead, giving peaks at the skin beneath. Small strands were pushed behind his ears, reaching to his jaw. His hair followed the flow of his movements, as he turned his face to look around the room, waving at the people in the room, a quiet smile resting on his lips.
Both men were undeniably handsome, murmurs of their appearance going around the room. Namjoon cleared his throat, bringing everyone's attention back to him. “Everyone, get your canvas ready, and get the paints you need from the table in the corner. We will begin in 10 minutes” he relayed kindly.
Soon enough, everyone had their canvas situated, paints ready, and the session began. Starting with shades of yellow oil paint, you began working on the underpainting. You looked up, observing the view in front of you: Jungkook was seated on the table that was adorned with a dark purple cloth, his legs dangling from the side, while his body leaned on to his arms that were straightened out behind him, palms flat against the table.
The shines of the evening sun turning from spring to summer radiated through the room, casting a dreamy haze over the world. A honey-like glow gleaned over Jungkook, his hair flowed along with the breeze that made its way through the open window, making him appear ethereal.
As his eyes glanced around the room, they stopped on you, looking warmly into your eyes. He slightly tilted his head to the side, giving you a mellow smile, which you reciprocated, and went back to painting the figure.
In between painting the canvas, you would notice his eyes returning to you again and again. You wondered why, was there something on your face? You picked up your phone to check, but you saw nothing on it. Your eyes made their way back to him, his own already on you. You notice him giving a small, inaudible laugh at your action, earning a narrowed look from you. He gave you a cheeky smile, his eyes carrying a teasing glint.
You decided to disregard his actions, and continued focusing on your painting. His occasional stares at you continued throughout the session. Once the time was done, everyone put their paintings along the wall for them to dry, and to be picked up later this week. You placed the painting against a wall in the room, taking a step back to look at the process you made, and noting what details needed to be added.
“Oh, wow!” You heard a voice coming over your shoulder. You slightly turned your head, only to be met with his gorgeous side profile. He was leaning a bit, his face on the same height as yours, just above your shoulders, his arms crossed behind his back. “It is beautiful,” Jungkook commented, his gaze turning to look into your eyes that were already on him.
The painting was truly beautiful: it was done in a red colour scale, with hints of the yellow underpainting showing through, a gold like glow surrounding the figure, while white paint traced soft patterns across the skin.
“Are you saying that because you were the muse?” You inquired nonchalantly, turning to analyse the canvas once again.
A small laugh escaped his lips, as he moved back, while you turned your body to fully face him. “I mean, it does help when the muse is also handsome,” he asserted playfully, looking keenly into your eyes.
You were about to comment on his claim, but before you could, he spoke up again. “I’m just joking, but truely, you are a very good artist,” he claimed, giving you a genuine smile, while casually putting his hands into the pocket of his trousers.
“Thank you,” you replied, turning your head to look at the painting momentarily, before looking deeply back into his eyes. “And I agree, it does help when the figure you are painting is so pretty. It makes it more enjoyable,” you acknowledged, with a bit of teasing.
A light hue of red crept to his cheeks and ears, as his brows raised slightly and the sudden remark, his pupils enlarging. His shoulders faintly scrunching up, as he looked towards the painting due to his shyness, a gleaming smile threatening to break on his face.
He didn’t know why he was feeling like this over your indirect compliment. He had become used to hearing people talk about his beauty, but hearing it come from you felt different. It was because he had perceived you as an artist: someone who could observe the small and fine details of its subject, translating it to a form that was art.
“I should get going, my friend is waiting for me. It was nice meeting you,” you relayed, a tender smile on your lips, directed towards him.
He finally looked at you again, taking out his hands from his pockets, giving a small nod, before greeting you a bye with, “Yes, I hope to see you again,” a shining look in his eyes.
“For sure,” you agreed, looking at him one last time, before making your way past him. Jungkook stood there blankly, gazing at the spot where you stood moments ago, not wanting to look at your leaving figure. He could hear you talking to your friend behind him, when something caught his eyes.
He untangled the red fabric that was stuck to his watch, holding it in front of him. A sense of familiarisation came to his face, realising that it was the fabric of the bow that was tied to your bag that had likely come off when you walked past, getting stuck in his watch.
He turned around, seeing you leaving through the door. He could have caught up with you, giving the cloth back to you, but his feet had seemed to become stationary, frozen in place. Instead he just held it in his hand, looking blankly at the door.
“Kook, I have cleaned up the studio, let's head out now,” Namjoons voice rang through the now empty room, as he walked over to Jungkook, breaking him out of his trance. Jungkook just nodded, his mind still lingering on the thoughts of you, and a faint smile played at his lips.
“Oh, what’s this in your hand?” Namjoon inquired, as the item in his hand had come to his attention. Registering what it was, Namjoon questioned again, “where did you get it from?”
“Fate”
“What?” Namjoon asked, confusion clear on his face.
“Fate,” Jungkook replied nonchalantly, turning to him momentarily, before averting his gaze to where it was before. “Fate has landed this piece of red fabric in my hands,” he explained cryptically, heading towards the door, followed by his friend who was trying to decipher his words.
Commission for Toast aka @sketchy-tour!
Toast here asked me to make a tune for their Welcome Home OC, Dandy Leon, and the lovable Wally Darling. A sort of love song, if you will. Add on top of that an idea for a written scene between the two and you have this!
(Also I'm eating up your comments in Discord, please know that /pos)
This is my 29th creation. This is for Dandy Leon and Wally Darling. A song of spring, being in bloom, and many references to Dandy's Delights (for this is a tune with Dandy in it!). The goobers are waltzing in the garden and having fun little stumbles, but they're enjoying themselves because the world is in bloom.
Painted Flowers
25 March 2024 — 26 March 2024
Summary: Wally wants to paint someone to day. But who should he paint? Barnaby suggests to him, "Why not Dandy?"
Word Count: ~2.8k words
TW: None
Author’s Note: Enjoy! Also on AO3 as a gift.
One day, Wally Darling woke up and decided that he was going to paint today.
If someone were to ask him why, like his best friend did when the large blue pooch stopped by the painter’s sentient house, he couldn’t explain it. “I just want to paint today, Barnaby,” Wally said in his signature monotonous voice. He pocketed some of his paintbrushes and tubes of acrylic paint in the pockets of his blue cardigan as he added, “I have a problem, though.”
“Eh? What’s botherin’ my lil’ apple today?” Barnaby B. Beagle asked as he leaned against Home’s outer walls. The dark blue ear closest to the front door perked up as he joked, “Ain’t it too early to feel gray? I thought that was Frank’s job!” The dog howled in laughter, then in mock pain as Home lightly smacked him with his door. “Alright, alright! I get it Home!”
Wally laughed a quiet little “Ha ha ha,” even though he didn’t quite get what was funny about the joke. The few times he had asked Barnaby to explain a joke to him, his best friend had groaned and placed a paw over his snout.
“A joke ain’t funny if I hafta explain it,” he had said, “but for you, lil’ buddy, fine. I will.” Barnaby had patted his shoulder to show that he meant no ill will with his tone, but that night and for the next few ones, Wally had tried and failed to squash the thought that he might’ve ruined his best friend’s jokes forever.
“Home, I get it. No makin’ fun of the sourpuss– Home!” Barnaby let out a few more laughs, then thumped at his chest twice as he cleared his throat. “Lil’ buddy, ya said ya had a problem?”
“Oh, yes. I have a problem.” Wally wordlessly gave Barnaby a blank canvas, then his folded wooden easel. The former was off white and lightly textured, while the latter was light brown with splatters of miscellaneous colors. The hinges were squeaky with use and no longer smelled of wood but instead, it smelled faintly of chemicals from the paints he used.
It was bad for him, according to Frank and Poppy, but he found it comforting. Could something that was bad also be comforting? He would have to ask someone about it.
But, that was for later. Another problem for later.
“I don’t know what to paint,” Wally said as he grabbed his palette, stepped outside, and closed the door. He craned his neck up, took a few steps away from his taller friend, then craned his neck a little less. “I don’t feel like painting red apples. But I like painting red apples. I don’t feel like painting you, but I like painting you too.” He fiddled with one of his paintbrushes, running the clean bristles over his fingers as he asked, “What should I do, Barnaby?”
“Well, gee Walls.” Barnaby furrowed his brow as he exhaled through his nose. “How’s about ya paint one of your neighbors?”
“Oh. That’s a good idea.” Wally paused stroking his fingertips with the paintbrush bristles, then resumed as another problem made itself apparent. “But who? Who should I paint today Barnaby?”
“Well, you can’t paint me! You said you didn’t wanna.”
“I still love you Barnaby.”
“Yeah, love ya too.” Barnaby started to thump his foot on the ground, quietly letting out a low growl as he thought. “Who have ya painted?”
“I’ve painted you, Barnaby. I’ve painted Julie, and I’ve painted Frank. I’ve painted Sally, and I’ve painted Poppy. I’ve painted Eddie, and I’ve painted Howdy.” Wally counted off each neighbor on each of his fingers, and he was left with one finger left standing. “I’ve tried to paint Home, but Home is very large and requires a lot of time. I will finish Home’s portrait soon.”
Home creaked an apology.
“It’s okay Home.”
“Huh. How about ya paint one of our other neighbors?” Barnaby asked. “How’s about that one with the sunflowers in their yard? Dandy?”
“Dandy?” Wally stopped brushing his fingertips as the name bounced around his head, trying to attach itself to a face. Sunflowers in their yard…green…brown hat…flowers. But not Julie’s type of flowers. Julie’s flowers were loud and vibrant, brave and running towards what she loved. Flowers attached to Dandy’s name were bright, yes, but they were gentle. They curled away from harsh words and they bloomed in the quiet moments.
The painter gasped. “Oh! Yes! I should paint Dandy!” Almost at once, the floodgates in his brain opened. Ideas flooded his mind, breaking through darkness with shades of green and yellow and red. He almost wished that he was as big as Barnaby so he could walk further with each step. His plans of painting couldn’t wait!
Barnaby let out a howl of laughter and gestured to the main road with a jerk of his head. “C’mon lil’ apple. Let go get your sunflower’s portrait painted.”
“My sunflower?” Wally asked as the pair started on the journey to the gardener’s house. “Barnaby, the sunflowers belong to Dandy. And I will be painting Dandy, not their sunflowers.”
The blue dog snickered. “Alright lil’ buddy.”
Wally didn’t understand that joke either.
The sun shone down on the pair of best friends as they approached the earthy-colored house. Even from a distance, the yellow flowers stood tall towards the sun, almost greeting them with how they were turned towards them. Some were lightly tied to wooden stakes, but they still looked healthy.
Standing next to the sunflowers was a puppet with green felt, short and fluffy brown hair, and squarish glasses on their face. The sleeves of their brown cardigan were partially rolled up as they inspected some of the leaves of the sunflowers, their face deep in concentration as their mouth moved slightly with words that were too quiet to hear.
“Heya Dandy!” Barnaby barked out as the distance between the puppets started to close.
Dandy jumped and looked up from their work. Their eyes widened and they scrambled to dust off their clothes, roll down their sleeves, and step out of the thick of their sunflowers. “Wally! Barnaby!” they called back. “What can I do for y’all?”
“Funny, they called your name first Walls,” Barnaby murmured.
“That was supposed to be funny?” Wally asked.
“Eh.” Barnaby shrugged and turned his attention back to Dandy. “Wally here wants to paint ya.”
Wally watched as Dandy’s gaze rapidly turned to him, hovered for a moment too long, then turned back to his best friend. “Me?” the gardener asked as they pointed to themself. Their gaze turned back to Wally as they repeated, “You want to paint me?”
“Yes,” Wally breathed. “I want to paint you, Dandy.”
“I — ” The gardener's hands started to wave dismissively as their eyes dropped to the ground. “I don’t think I’m good enough to be painted! I’m a mess, and I have dirt on my hands. My hair is messy, and I have to send some flowers to Howdy’s — ”
With one swift motion, Barnaby unfolded Wally’s easel and placed it down nearby. He then patted Dandy’s head and chuckled at the yelp of surprise the gardener let out. “Re-lax Dandy. Walls here ain’t gonna eat cha alive!”
Wally’s fingers tightened around his cardigan for a brief moment. His eyes itched.
Not today. Not today.
Barnaby placed the blank canvas down on the empty easel and patted Wally on the shoulder before he bid the two shorter puppets farewell and walked away. “Peace out ‘n have fun! I’ll be at Howdy’s if ya need me!”
Wally waved goodbye to the blue dog, then turned his attention back to Dandy. “I will be painting you soon, neighbor.”
“Wally,” Dandy murmured. They kept looking at the ground, their voice even quieter than when Barnaby was there. Their brows were furrowed slightly and their mouth was pressed together in a thin line. “You don’t have to paint me. I think there are better neighbors to paint than lil’ ol’ me,” they chuckled. At the last half of their sentence, they sounded a bit like Eddie.
“I want to,” Wally countered. “I really do want to paint you.” He started to take out some of the acrylic tubes and laid them on the excess wood of the easel. He untwisted some of the caps to loosen them up, then carefully squeezed a bit of paint onto his palette one at a time. A bit of black and white in the corner for mixing, then green here and yellow there. Blue as well, and brown was very important.
“I woke up today and wanted to paint,” he confessed. “But I didn’t want to paint red apples or Barnaby, even though I love both red apples and Barnaby very much. Oh, thank you Dandy.”
The gardener blushed as they helped screw the caps of the paints back on. “I can getcha a cup of water for your paints. And a stool, if you want one.”
“A stool for the paint water would be nice, thank you.”
As Dandy hurriedly walked inside their house, Wally made it his mission to stare at the blank canvas with a paintbrush in one hand and his palette in the other. He had the subject, and he had the colors. He had the idea, no matter how faint it was. But now that he was here, with his subject nearby and with his colors laid out, the idea was rapidly vanishing.
His grip on the paintbrush tightened. The pose. How should Dandy pose? And any objects? Should they be holding anything in their hands? How much of Dandy should he paint?
He wanted to paint today, that he knew. But why was it so hard to paint?
“ —lly? Wally?”
The pompadoured puppet let in a sharp inhale of air and turned towards the voice.
Dandy gasped in return, backing away slightly. They bumped against the stool where an old cup filled with water sat, and they cried out to catch it as it wobbled precariously. “Golly! I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay,” Wally said. He found his voice again — again; he was losing it…what year was it? — and forced himself to take a slow, calm breath. “I still want to paint you, Dandy. But, I’m having trouble imagining how I want to paint you.”
“Paint me however you want Wally, and I’m sure it’ll look nice.” Dandy’s gaze alternated between him and the ground, and their felt still showed hints of a blush. Pinkish, maybe red.
Like apples.
Wally slowly raised his paintbrush and started to circle it in midair, pretending that the ends of the brush were covered in red paint. He brushed an imaginary stroke upwards to make a stem, then two smooth lines to make a leaf. He liked apples. Those were the first things he painted.
What did Dandy like?
“Oh!” he gasped. “Dandy, can I paint you with sunflowers?”
“Sunflowers?” Dandy repeated. “The tall ones or the ones I picked earlier for Howdy’s?”
Wally paused. He looked at the sunflowers that towered above their heads nearby. Instead of looking friendly, they now looked intimidating. “I want to paint you with the sunflowers closer to your face.”
“My face? Oh, you’re going to paint my face?” Dandy’s hands waved, though not as erratically as Julie. “Can’t I hide behind my sunflowers? I’m a mess like I said and the sunflowers are more beautiful than I am and — ”
“Dandy.”
Dandy stopped.
“I think my neighbors look beautiful on my canvas because I paint what I see.” Wally’s smile widened as he added, “And I think the painting I want to do with you and your sunflowers will be beautiful too.”
If Dandy’s face could turn into a pretty red apple, it would. The gardener sputtered something before they stumbled away and stumbled back with a large bouquet of sunflowers in their hands. Dozens of yellow petals shone outwards, almost giving Sally a challenger for the brightest one in the neighborhood. In their centers, hundreds of seeds created a dark contrast.
In the middle of it all, Dandy’s face was buried in it.
Wally didn’t mind so much. He needed to paint the sunflowers first.
So began the long and slow process of mixing colors to create the right shade, then applying them onto the canvas in gentle strokes. The petals were abstract shapes at first, radiating from a circle of darkness in the center. As Wally switched brushes and added details, the sunflowers gained personality. Individual petals started to differentiate, and someone could pluck out the seeds if they wished to.
He dipped the brush in the murky paint water and started on the puppet. He looked around the canvas and saw Dandy’s face still buried in the sunflowers.
That was no good.
He placed the paintbrush on the stool and slowly approached them. “Dandy. Could you lift your face up please? I need to paint it.”
Dandy hesitantly complied, but most of their face was still covered by yellow petals. “The sunflowers are more beautiful,” they faintly insisted. “They’re in bloom.”
“You are in bloom too,” Wally said. Despite his brush hand smelling slightly of paint, he reached out and cupped his hand against Dandy’s cheek. He gently lifted their warm face up and out of the sunflowers and said, “You are in bloom, Dandy. Like the sunflowers, and the apple blossoms.
“I woke up and wanted to paint today. I wanted to paint, and you are in bloom. Why should I not paint a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers and the neighbor that grew them?”
A long, palpable pause stretched out between the two. Wally wondered if he made a mistake with this. He knew that Frank didn’t like to be touched very often, so what if Dandy was the same?
Then, Dandy slowly smiled. Their smile radiated through the sunflowers, and for a second, Wally thought that the gardener was the most pretty flower he’d seen.
His own smile widened and he withdrew his hand. “This…this is the most! I will paint this now!” He swiftly came back to his canvas and started mixing the right shade of green. The portrait slowly came together. First the general shape, then the details. The highlights came last. A few broad strokes for a blue sky, and…!
“Dandy, it’s done.” Wally placed each used paintbrush into the murky paint water, one by one as he waited for the subject of his painting to shuffle around the easel to look at his work.
On the canvas, were dozens of sunflowers arranged in a strong bouquet intermixed with delicate petals. The sunflowers themselves were made of strokes of yellow and circles of black, highlighted by elegant lines that made each detail pop. In the middle of it all, was a puppet whose smile was the centerpiece of the painting. Eyes slightly squinted shut from how wide they were smiling, a hint of red on their cheeks, and hands that held the entire bouquet together by their stems.
A gasp followed by a squeal of joy. Hand waving and heel bouncing briskly followed, alongside quiet bursts of “It’s so beautiful!” and “The detail on the sunflowers!”
Wally watched Dandy go through several levels of joy and awe, and the semi-permanent smile on his face softened. His partially-lidded eyes took in the small details: brown eyes that sparkled at the work of art on the canvas; the little yellow flower on their hat that never wilted; gentle flowers that reached towards the sun, fingers curling around the drops of light and holding it close.
Quiet.
“Do you want to keep it?”
“I…I shouldn’t.” The light was escaping from their fingertips.
Did he do that?
“I insist. I would be honored if you took it.” Wally gingerly took the still-drying painting and held it out towards Dandy. “I want you to have it.”
Dandy’s mouth pressed into a thin line as they looked down at the ground for a moment, then thrust the sunflowers in front of them. “Take these. I’d feel bad if you didn't have something in return. I can always get more for Howdy, it’s not a big deal.”
The next minutes were spent juggling an exchange; between trying not to touch any paint on the canvas and not dropping any sunflowers on the ground, the two spent an excessive amount of time trying to give each other the items. In the end, Dandy was left holding their portrait and Wally had a bouquet of sunflowers in his hand.
Dandy lightly bounced inside their house, and Wally was left outside with a sunny-smelling bundle of flowers counteracting against the chemical scent of his acrylics. He buried his face within the flowers and deeply inhaled. Between strong whiffs of paint, he breathed in drops of sunlight.
“The most,” he exhaled. “These are the most.”
For the next several days, anyone who peeked in the window of Home could catch a glimpse of a vase filled with cut sunflowers. They were perky and alive, and it certainly complimented a fresh red apple that always sat next to the vase for as long as the sunflowers lived.
"Blue Interlude"
Hello Aria!!
Blue Interlude...ooo. Blue felt, a period of time, a break.
A short drabble, maybe. Less than 1000 words. A breather, a break. Lots of blue. Blue water, blue sky. Calm down, maybe the aftermath of a panic, anxiety. Comfort from the cold. Blue is warm, blue is lovely. Blue is a break.
4 - oh you love me, you love me
series masterlist
~~~
“Hi bub…”
Keeping your voice low, you walked softly into the room, beelining straight to the blonde under the covers, her head barely peeking out.
Settling on the edge of the bed beside Alessia, you smoothed out her messy hair, a soft smile on your face at how adorable she looked- a sleepy grimace coating her face as blonde strands stuck out in every direction, no doubt a result of the nap she had taken earlier.
Hand coming to rest on her forehead as you stopped your ministrations, you quietly checked her temperature, mindful of the fever she had a few hours ago.
Feeling it to be near normal, you contemplated asking her how she was feeling, cautious of annoying the blonde as she was waking up.
You decided to take the leap however, and ask, well-aware that you’d have a grumpy Alessia on your hands afterwards.
Still, being careful to not rouse the blonde too much with your voice, you kept it quiet as you spoke, words nearly a whisper.
“How are you feeling now? How’s your stomach?”
At your questions, the striker let out a small grunt, no other response besides her shuffling ungracefully until her head was resting on your thigh.
Shaking your head fondly at her antics, you ran your fingers through her hair as she settled, scratching Alessia’s scalp in an attempt to bring her some comfort.
Trying again, you spoke once more.
“Less, baby, does anything still hurt?”
Again, another grunt, this one with a hint of a whine at the end this time. You shook silently with laughter at her response, eyes rolling lovingly at the child-like behaviour.
“Alessia…” Your tone was playful but the warning in it was clear- you really needed to know how she was doing so you could help her.
The slight push was successful, the English woman finally responding verbally.
“Cramps are still bad and my back hurts.”
Her voice was quiet though, discomfort apparent as her face scrunched up as she spoke.
You knew the drill at this point- on her periods, Alessia liked to cuddle a hot water bottle as you both would watch a movie, light sandwiches shared between you two as you huddled under a blanket or two in your bedroom.
Nodding to yourself as you created a plan in your head, you made a move to get up, ready to go heat up some water for a hot water bottle and grab some food and ibuprofen.
You didn’t get far however, Alessia burying her face into your torso at the slightest movement, her arm coming to lay across your lap, preventing you from leaving.
Unfortunately for you, as adorable as her wanting you to stay was, you knew Alessia would be in more pain if you didn’t get up right now, well aware of just how awful her periods got sometimes.
“Love, I’m just gonna fill you a hot water bottle, see if that helps…” Trying to convince the blonde to let you go, you tried to gently lift her arm off you. Your effort was futile though, her grip only tightening.
“No.” The response was clear, the blonde making no effort to loosen her grip.
“Lessi…”
“No. Please…” Her voice was quieter this time, nearly pleading.
Sighing, your shoulders deflated at her tone, knowing she was typically more clingier during the first day or so of her period, the pain heightening her need for your presence.
“Only a little while, okay? After that I need to get you hot water and some food probably.”
And as Alessia moved over to the middle of the bed to make room for you, you got comfortable, sitting with your upper back against the headboard, propped up by pillows, legs stretched out as you made room for the Gunner.
Patting the space between your legs once you had situated yourself, you helped Alessia get comfortable in your hold, her back pressed to your front as you pulled the laptop she had been using earlier closer to you.
Continuing the episode that the blonde had fallen asleep to, you let her rest her head on your shoulder, placing a loving kiss on her temple as you snaked your hands under her shirt, coming to a rest just under her stomach.
Gently kneading, you did your best to massage the area as you both watched the show, trying to alleviate some of the pain.
You could feel Alessia relax at your movement, body getting heavier and breaths getting softer, her slowly falling back asleep with the help of the comforting touch.
Briefly stopping your massage, you quickly turned the volume down of the laptop as to not wake her again, trying your best not to laugh as the girl in your arms whined at the faintest absence of your touch.
Carrying on once again, a soft smile ever present on your face, you settled in, not unfamiliar with this situation with the number of months you had been together, but more than content to be there for her.
~~~
It was nearly an hour later when Alessia rose from her second nap, and if you were honest, you didn’t think she could have gotten any more cuter.
Sleep laden eyes, the blonde had immediately buried her face into your neck upon waking up, adjusting herself to be sideways in your lap as the evening light started streaming into the room.
The pair of you had sat there, cuddled up, for the better part of a half hour, you doing your best to make sure to slowly wake the blonde up, asking little questions here and there until she was fully coherent.
You had eventually convinced her to shower as you started on plans for dinner, an idea, a small surprise, on your mind.
Gathering all that you needed, you worked quickly, time limited.
Pulling away the coffee table in your living room, you quickly rearranged your couch, converting it into the bed it could become, before grabbing all the fluffiest blankets, pillows, and stuffies in the house and throwing them on the makeshift bed.
Scouring around the apartment and the groceries you had gotten earlier, you prepped a snack tray full of the blonde's favourite treats, setting that near the fort you had built.
Finally, boiling some water, you prepped a hot water bottle for when Alessia was out of the shower.
Hearing footsteps just as you finished pouring the water into the bottle, you quickly set the kettle down, screwing the top shut before turning around.
Smiling at the fact that she was wearing one of your oversized hoodies, you proudly presented her with the hot water bottle before taking her hand and leading her to the living room.
Coming to a stop and facing the blonde, you watched as she took in the sight before you- dim lighting around the area, a few candles, the sofa-bed filled with blankets and pillows, snacks, and the TV set up, ready for any streaming service to be chosen.
“I-…huh? What?”
Sending you a bewildered look, Alessia tried to find the words to convey her shock, surprised at how you managed to pull this off in fifteen minutes.
“What is all of this?”
Shrugging your shoulders in response, a nervous smile on your face, you rubbed the back of your neck anxiously.
“I know we had plans to cook together tonight but I figured we could have a relaxing night in instead…”
Slowly walking over to the handful of take out menus you had piled up on the side, you picked them up,  bringing them back to the blonde with a sheepish smile.
“Bub, you’re on your period and I think it would be nice if we can just put on a movie, have some snacks, maybe order in, and just cuddle and…relax? No pressure for the night. Just you, me, some good, easy food, and some good entertainment y’know?”
Watching you explain your thought process with a lovesick smile on her face, Alessia stepped closer to you, arms coming around to pull you into a hug, burying her face into your neck.
Sighing into the crook, you felt the smile on the Gunner's face, her hug getting just a tad bit tighter with every passing second, almost as if she was trying to physically make you feel her love.
Relaxing into her hold, you let out a breath at the gesture, glad you had read Alessia correctly.
Pulling back slightly, her sky-blue eyes met your own, head tilting earnestly as she glanced around the room quickly before looking back at you.
“This really sounds like the perfect night right now, thank you.” An apologetic smile crossed her face as she continued, “sorry I’m not in the mood to cook, I know I promised to teach you how to make pasta from scratch and-”
Cutting the striker off before she could spiral into a series of unnecessary apologies, you pulled her close, placing a soft kiss on her lips to quiet her.
Leaning back with a smile on your face at the dazed look in Alessia’s eyes, you grasped her hand in yours, tugging her onto the sofa behind you.
“Less, love, don’t worry a second about it okay? Plus anyways, I’m feeling a little La La Land and some snacks…and then we can order food in a bit yeah? Sounds alright?”
Smiling at the eager nod you got, you situated yourself, helping Alessia dig her way to the middle of the pulled out sofa. Letting her get comfy, you grabbed the softest blanket you had found, coincidentally her favourite one, and gently placed it on the blonde, making sure the hot bottle rested comfortably before settling yourself beside her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders as she laid her head on yours.
A carefree smile unknowingly residing on your face, you flicked through the plethora of streaming services before you found the correct one, hitting play on the movie before tugging your love impossibly closer.
Unbeknown to you, Alessia had a matching smile on her own face, heart softening at the thought of the effort you had gone through- that you always went through, when she was on her period. At how you would always go out of your way to make sure she was comfortable, her very much aware that you had most definitely picked up majority of the snacks today knowing she was starting her period and craved them. At how you checked in with her, took care of her, stayed with her so she wasn’t in pain alone, fed her, did all of that and then some for her.
Well aware your love didn’t need words, Alessia revelled in the thought behind your actions, letting herself fall deeper in love with you as the opening credits rolled around.
Glad that of all the people in the world, she had you by her side through all the good times and bad, she pressed herself into you, letting your warmth wash over her and bring her comfort as you played your guys’ favourite movie.
And as day turned to night, the fall cold slightly sweeping in as the TV illuminated the room in bright lights, the two of you sat, cuddled up, warmed up, and loved up, needing nothing more than the other and the love and comfort of the home you were building together.
