Here is what I meant by writing down some boons for the HC/life series Hades au.

Grian- God of The Sun. (Because, of course)

Boons:

Grian's Aid- Your call fires 4 rotating rays of light that damage foes at a rate of 9 dmg every 0.2 seconds and inflicts Blind. Lasts 4 seconds (Rare-4.5 seconds, Epic-5 seconds, Eroic-5.5 seconds).

Blinding burst- Your attack is stronger and inflicts Blind. Attack damage: +50% (Rare multiplier: 1.2-1.4, Epic: 1.6-1.8, Heroic: 2.2-2.5).

Shots in the dark- Your special rapid-fires a series of 10 glowing bullets that inflict Blind. Damage: 10 per bullet. (Rare: 14, Epic: 16, Heroic: 20)

Delayed trap- Your dash creates a small glowing orb that explodes after 3 seconds and inflicts Burn. Damage: 65 (Rare: 70, Epic: 85, Heroic: 90)

Blinding smite: Your cast summons a ray of light that inflicts Blind in a big area. Damage: 70 (Rare: 80, Epic: 90, Eroic 100).

Cactus ring (of course): After being damaged summon a ring of glowing cactii around you dealing revenge damage and inflicting Blind to all foes. Revenge damage: 15 (Rare: 20, Epic: 25, Heroic: 30)

Burning Light: Every foe inflicted by Burn has a 40% chance of also becoming Blind. (Rare: 50%, Epic: 60%, Heroic 75%).

The all-seeing: All blinding effects last +3.5 seconds (Rare: 4, Epic: 4.5, Heroic: 5).

Burning metal: Enemies with less then 20% health have a 10% chance of exploding after being hit thus Burning nearby foes. (Rare: 12%, Epic: 14%, Heroic: 16%)

Denied Sunset: When health is below 30% take half damage. -Legendary.

Status effects:

Blind: Enemies are 25% slower and have a 50% chance of missing. Last 4 seconds.

Burn: Enemies take 10 damage every 0.2 seconds for 2 seconds. (Like scorched except does less damage per second but lasts longer)

(I'm not... good at making things balanced so I would be very grateful for all suggestions on changing specific values)

Eyes followed as Thena finally emerged from the sleeper car. She wasn't dressed for rehearsal, she was wearing a regular old dress. Everyone stared but no one dared say a word.

She walked confidently enough, even though she had a beast of a man trailing behind her. He met every pair of eyes with a glare, practically growling at them all like a dog. Although no one would have described him as the guard dog type. He was the one who had locked her up, after all.

Gil almost cried when he saw her.

Thena looked well, but also terrible. She was dressed in her soft, cream coloured dress, and her hair was free and flying around her shoulders. But she looked exhausted, like she hadn't seen the sun in a week and barely eaten.

Gil had been waiting for her to rejoin them for what certainly felt like a week but he knew was less. He had tried to exchange words with her, whisper through the slats of the car window, anything. But since the kiss they had shared, Kro had hardly left her side.

But Kro didn't cut a protective picture. He looked like the spectre of death, hunched over and looming behind her. Like a gargoyle on an old building watching over something possessively.

"Miss," some of the guys from the crew dared to nod their heads to her as she passed them to reach the stew pots with today's lunch.

Kro stared them down for it.

She nodded back to them, a faint smile on her lips. Gil didn't have to hear her say a word to know she was tired. The way she moved said everything. He set down the supplies he had been helping move and walked over.

"Vet."

"Boss," he greeted with a harsh tone but the right word. He didn't let his eyes drift to Thena at all, but he wasn't about to stand by and let Kro bully her with silence either. "Think we'll be ready for the next show?"

If Kro knew his real intentions, he said nothing. He kept his eyes on him as well. "Replacement wire won't be easy to get. But I don't want to miss any more shows than we already have."

The greatest shock to all of them had been when Kro had not let Thena out of her cage and instead actually cancelled their last show. It was possible to perform without the high wire, technically. And of course any normal show would cancel due to the safety concern.

But Kro wasn't normal, and everyone had speculated even more at the missed opportunity to naturally see if Thena was alive and well with their own eyes.

"You could always let us go into town to find some."

The train always stopped outside of town, for obvious reasons. But if they needed supplies, Kro would go himself, in the past. He didn't let them go into town to meander and mingle. He said it was to prevent them from getting drunk or hungover or god forbid arrested. In reality, it was for the sake of control over them.

"I'll go tomorrow."

Thena set down her bowl. Was just that too tiring for her? "We can do the show without it."

Gil was shocked that the suggestion had come from her. Shouldn't she have been the one most eager to do away with the damned routine risking her life? But he still didn't give Kro the window of opportunity. "Should probably get a net too, right?"

Breaths were held. He was poking the bear, and he knew it. Kro always said he felt strongly about not using a net. A net would imply he didn't have faith in his wife, in his own words. It had nothing to do with the extra expense and set up time.

Kro stepped closer to him. Thena hovered between them distance wise, her back still turned. "I still have faith in my wife, despite the unfortunate incident."

Gil bit his tongue on the subject of faith in his wife. But he couldn't help letting his eyes say a little more as he spoke, "I have faith in Thena. But maybe your faith isn't enough."

Kro leaned right into his vision, baring his teeth at him like a dog. "Are you questioning my wife?"

"Thena is safe," Gil met his eye without fear. He could press their heads together so hard they bled, he didn't care. "That's all that matters."

Thena turned, putting her hand on Kro's arm. "Let's go."

But Kro didn't budge. He kept his eyes on Gil but he moved his hand to grasp the arm she was using. "Don't interrupt, dearest."

Gil gripped Kro's shirt in his fists. "Why did she wince?"

"What?"

But Gil didn't let up. He dragged Kro forward and up and away from Thena. His vision blurred of everything except the monster in his grasp. "You grabbed her arm, she winced. Is she hurt?"

"I would never lay a hand on her!" Kro roared at him. He wasn't exactly lifted off the ground, being taller than Gil even. He grabbed Gil's shirt as well, the two of them pulling nowhere.

"I've seen you do it before," Gil growled. He could remember clear as day when Kro grabbed Thena by the arm - the first night she had kissed him - and dragged her away under the moonlight.

He tossed Kro back, immediately turning to Thena. His hands hovered around the sleeves of her dress, coming just low enough. His fingertips brushed her soft skin. She felt cold. "Are you okay?"

She didn't deny anything, just looked at him. "He didn't hurt me Gil, just grabs sometimes."

His face darkened.

"Don't, Gil," she whispered, trying to talk him down from the precipice. "I know he's a bastard but don't--you don't want this fight."

He just barely pushed her sleeve up, seeing the faint bruising appear from where Kro had taken her entire, delicate arm in his beastly paw of a hand. He snarled.

"Gil," she repeated louder, but it felt like he was hearing her through water. His vision blurred even more. He'd never understood 'seeing red' before. "He will kill you."

As if he could abide something like this.

Hmmm, that's a hard question.

I've been in a lot of fandoms over the years (I was really invested in some, like, really invested). I can't really say I've been in any bad fandoms actually (worst thing was when I was in the bnha fandom. It was fine but the hate that was directed towards the fans drove me away).

The star trek fandom has treated me pretty well (and honestly it's admirable how 55 years after tos ended there're still so many people invested). Everyone is so talented and so nice, I wish I could be a bigger part of it (although I can say I've drawn a lot of things for star trek so far)

One other fandom I adore (but sadly haven't made much to contribute to it) is the ace attorney one. Easily the fandom with some of the better fics I've ever read. Again so many talented people and I haven't had any bad interactions with it so far apart from this.

I've been dying to share this. My first 'hate' anon ever. I was still pretty new to actually having a tumblr account and posting when I got it. Why did I get it? I liked a post that said something like 'the first trilogy is better written than the apollo justice trilogy' and someone went through the people who liked that post and started sending anonymous hate asks. Pretty pathetic idk. I keep it in my ask box.

But yeah, all the fandoms I've been have been pretty nice.

imagine being someone at new rome university and not knowing percy is the same guy as “percy jackson, son of poseidon, two-time hero of olympus, former praetor” because the thought doesn’t even cross your mind. like… he’s percy. he’s a total frat boy. on a normal night, he walks into a party, refers to everyone as bro or dude, socializes with every living (and not-living) person in the room, makes at least 50 sarcastic comments, plays 12 rounds of beer pong, drinks way too much, and then skates around campus on his skateboard yelling “I LOVE NEW YORK” (which makes no sense, because they’re in california) until someone calls his girlfriend to come get him.

and then one day there’s an attack, and frat boy percy is all of a sudden a fighting machine. he’s yelling battle cries alongside the praetors frank zhang and hazel levesque as they lead everyone into battle. (why is he with the praetors? and why…. why in the world do the praetors seem to be following his lead?) his sword slashes through armies of monsters faster than you’ve ever seen. he’s controlling the entire river surrounding the camp, creating huge waves as tall as skyscrapers that crash down all around him, wiping out monsters and causing mass destruction to his enemies’ ranks. the sky is suddenly dark above you, ice-cold water droplets are slashing through the air, and the wind is blowing so aggressively that it’s making it hard to stand up steadily. because he’s somehow created a hurricane.

and he looks terrifying. you can feel the power radiating off of him. he’s like a god. or maybe a monster. it’s hard to tell. you’re a little scared of him, to be honest. but also in total awe, because it’s extraordinary. he’s extraordinary.

Opinion on non artists requester asking multiple artists to draw their OC shipping with a canon character for free?

It depends I guess.

Asking for free art is always a weird topic, depending on what you ask for, how you ask it and from whom you ask it. Not everyone wants to do art requests for free.

If someone is asking random artists hoping to get free art for the sake of getting something for free, then I think it's bad.

Personally I don't like Oc×Canon (no hate to anyone who does tho) so I don't draw it.

supporting communities & people impacted by the Southport attack and the far-right riots in the UK

here is a list of community fundraisers I found, starting with those aiming to support the Southport community after the appalling attack at a children dance party, to the fundraisers helping those affected by the subsequent racist and Islamophobic far-right/nazi riots

Edited on 5 August to include Middlesbrough fundraisers. Edited on 6 August to correct the link on the Books for Spellow Lane fundraiser, to adjust the name change for the Belfast fundraiser, and to adjust the wording in the second last paragraph.

Southport:

Southport Strong Together Appeal - organised by the community foundation for Merseyside, for those affected by the Southport knife attack

United for Southport families - the funds will be distributed among the nine families of the children who were at the party

Swifties for Southport - a fundraiser for the Alder Hey Children's charity, which supports the victims and the affected families, as well as first responders and clinicians. Extra funds will also support the wider Southport community

Fundraiser for the Southport Mosque - a fundraiser to aid rebuilding or possibly re-locating the Southport Mosque after the damages it suffered during the riots

Rebuilding Windsor Mini Mart - fundraiser to rebuild the locally-owned grocery store that was targeted during the attacks, broken into, and looted

Liverpool:

Fundraiser for the Spellow Hub - the Spellow Hub was broken into, looted and set on fire at night during the riots. The Spellow Hub is a newly created one-of-a-kind (in the UK) institution, which consists of a library as well as a community centre with a mission to help people get education and pathways to work

Books for Spellow Lane - another fundraiser for the library in the Spellow Hub, to replace the books and rebuild the library there edit: included the correct link

Hartlepool:

Fundraiser for the Nasir Mosque - the Nasir Mosque was attacked following Southport riots; this fundraiser is organised by Hartlepool citizens to help the mosque deal with the damages as well as to show appreciation for the role of the mosque in the community. edit: the funds will be also distributed to the local community!

Rebuilding the Farm Shop - the shop was targeted during the riots, and when the owner and his son tried to protect it, they were also violently attacked. The fundraiser is to help fix the damages to the store.

Sunderland:

help rebuild Citizens Advice Sunderland offices after arson - two of the Citizens Advice Sunderland offices were set on fire during the riots, and one of them is completely destroyed.

Hull:

Hull Help for Refugees - a local fundraiser to support the Hull Help for Refugees charity, the donated money will be re-distributed to community members affected by the riots

Fundraiser for Hull Help for Refugees and Welcome House in Hull - collected money will be donated to the two charities

Belfast:

help fix racially motivated damages - originally the fundraiser for the Sahara Shisha Cafe which was targeted by the far right in Belfast during the riots, now a fundraiser for all affected businesses in the area. edited to reflect the change of the name of the fundraiser to avoid any confusion

Middlesbrough:

Supporting residents after the riots - Middlesbrough has suffered so much during the riots, lots of businesses as well as just regular family homes were vandalised, had their windows smashed or even were broken into. This fundraiser wants to distribute the funds between affected people to help them fix the damages, and to generally support the local community. the newest fundraiser, imo potentially the most urgent one

Fundraiser for a Care worker's car which was set on fire - a car belonging to an employee of a care agency was set on fire during the riots while he was on shift at a care home.

If you want to donate locally but there is no fundraiser to support where you live, consider donating to your local charities oriented towards Muslim or PoC communities, or towards anti-racist and refugee organizations! And go support your local Muslim/Arab/Black/Asian/Refugee owned businesses!
