Hi prequel community. If I said that I think the reason why there were only two prequels compared to the three that the other parts of the series got (3 TSY books and 3 TCY books) AND the reasons why Rhian's eye colour changes miraculously from Rise to Fall from green to blue (I think he's described as having green eyes in Rise? someone might have to correlate me on that) is because in Rise he's supposed to parallel TSY Sophie (green eyes, doubtfully good, multiple boyfriends) and then in Fall he's supposed to parallel Japeth (blue eyes, fratricidal, insane, gets cool one liners) how would you react to that

while the dinner with family yesterday was awful, I heard a story from my grandma that was genuinely chilling, and made me think of this sudden resurgence of 'stay at home girlfriend' or trad content that is being pushed online. basically, my grandma's male friend recently had a massive stroke, and is in a hospice essentially just waiting to pass away. this has really put his partner into dire straits - he never got married to his girlfriend of 30ish years, and now, she's living in (his) house that she has no legal right to occupy. she's been a stay-at-home partner, so she has no pension, no savings, no money whatsoever to move out. and the man's family (who *do* have a legal right to his house) are hovering like vultures ready to take possession. this woman is in her 70s, and has absolutely nothing in the world now that he's on his deathbed. i cannot imagine a scarier situation to find oneself in.

friends i am begging you, if you want to get a dog and have never had one before, DO YOUR RESEARCH ON BREEDS.

i was working with a lady the other day who was telling me she wanted a puppy and had never had one before, so she went and adopted a 7 month old husky/border collie mix from the shelter after being denied at [pet store] for working too many hours. i'm pretty sure she got this dog because it has complete heterochromia and is a very tidy black and white, like a standard border collie.

please. do NOT do this. look into what dog breed will BEST fit your lifestyle. if you work long hours, do NOT get a working dog breed. maybe even don't get a dog. maybe get a less affectionate cat. i do not give a single FUCK if the dog is pretty. do both yourself and the dog a favor and get the dog that fits your life!!! do not get a working dog and stick it in an apartment or house and wonder why it's eating your furniture and destroying your house!!!
