Despite looking younger, Mal is still a twin and the same age as J'onn! So like 27-30 years old.

Basically with J'onn and Mal being fugitives from Mars, that means there would be more martian shenanigans! Maybe remix T'omm J'onzz as a cousin and bounty hunter. Lots of possibilities when the martians are still kickin'

Just like in the DCAU, it'll change based on big story events! Sometimes it'll be in space, other times they'll have to crash in the Fortress of Solitude or some variation of that.

For sure! I love it when the League expands.

Mal joins the League every now and then if he's ever needed, but for the most part he wants to fit in and live a human life after escaping Mars. However during the Epiphany remix run where J'onn essentially dies, Mal takes over the mantle of Martian Manhunter for several months.

Big changes! I don't want to give away too much (especially for J'onn and Mal) but to give an example, Mera doesn't escape an arranged marriage or run away from home in this AU. She's an established leader and hero training a reluctant Arthur who's still coming to terms with his powers. Her sister Hila takes charge of Xebel in the mean time. I'm removing as many evil twins as possible, haha.

Yes totally! I think it's always fun when supporting characters add a new dynamic to the team.

An English-language adaptation of the 2016 German rom-com Text for You (in turn an adaptation of a Sofie Cramer novel), Love Again finds Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan embarking on a new romance after a virtual meet-cute through a wrong-number text message. Céline Dion also stars (as a version of herself), but even her name on the poster failed to generate much box office business. And critics complained that the second half of the rom-com formula (the comedy, that is) was missing.

In the crime thriller God Is a Bullet (based on Boston Teran's novel), Game of Thronesstar Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays a police detective who decides to take the law into his own hands after his ex-wife is murdered and their daughter is taken kidnapped by a cult. Critics found it a nihilistic slog.

Star Wars, it isn't.  Director Zack Snyder's just-released Netflix film is the first half of a big-budget, two-part sci-fi epic (to be followed by Part 2 in April) that finds a peaceful colony at the edge of the galaxy threatened by invading forces. Enter the reluctant hero: A young woman with a mysterious past (Sofia Boutella) heads to nearby planets to recruit warriors to come to her colony's defense. Charlie Hunnam, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Fisher, Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Corey Stoll, Cary Elwes, and Jena Malone also star. The story has its origins in a Star Wars feature that Snyder was developing over a decade ago, though the final product is less family friendly than the Lucasfilm franchise—and also, apparently, much worse: It's the lowest-scoring film in Snyder's career to date.

One of two Stephen King-inspired films to qualify for this list—and it's definitely not King's fault— streaming-only Bloodlinesserves as a prequel to the 2019 film Pet Sematary, which was in turn based on the 1983 novel by King. The directorial debut for screenwriter Lindsey Anderson Beer failed to impress critics with its original story set (mainly) in the year 1969 and featuring details not found in King's novel.

The fourth, final, and expendablest film yet in the over-the-hill action-movie franchise last seen in 2014, Expend4bles was one of the year's biggest box office duds upon its release in September, making back just half of its $100 million production budget. After first opting out, Sylvester Stallone ultimately did return to star alongside Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture one last time, while newcomers included 50 Cent and Megan Fox. Most of them have little interesting to say or do in an instantly forgettable film.

But he hit a career low in 2023 with the generic action-horror hybrid Fear the Night, which finds a group of women (led by Maggie Q's Iraq War veteran Tess) at a remote bachelorette party fighting back against a group of attackers.

The directorial debut from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Charlie Day (who also writes and stars), misfiring Hollywood satire Fool's Paradise wastes a strong ensemble cast that also includes Adrien Brody, Edie Falco, Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, Ken Jeong, Kate Beckinsale, Common, John Malkovich, and the late Ray Liotta. The Bowfinger riff (rip-off?) finds a mute, mentally challenged man enlisted by a down-on-his-luck publicist to stand in for a famous Method actor (with whom he shares a strong resemblance) who refuses to leave his trailer during a film shoot.

Another lackluster entry in the filmography of editor-turned-action-movie-director Camille Delamarre (The Transporter Refueled), Assassin Club stars Henry Golding as an elite assassin on a difficult assignment: He must kill seven of his colleagues around the world. The result comes nowhere close to matching the quality of the John Wick films on which it is so clearly modeled.

Adapted from a 2017 Twitter thread by BuzzFeed writer Adam Ellis courtesy of Anna and the Apocalypse director John McPhail, Dear David is a supernatural horror film centering on, well, a BuzzFeedwriter in the year 2017. (He's apparently haunted by ghosts, you see.) While the story may have been creepy in its original written form, the translation to film results in something akin to a lesser TV movie, according to reviewers—and one that definitely isn't scary.

The latest action film from the director of Taken is, unlike that movie, also a comedy—and that, more than anything, is why Freelance fails to live up to that previous title's success. Alison Brie and John Cena do their best as a journalist and her bodyguard on assignment in the fictitious, jungle-filled South American country of Paldonia, but anyone expecting a modern-day Romancing the Stone should temper those expectations. Critics complain that Morel is unable to make Freelance's disparate genres mesh (or make any of its characters likeable), and the result is one of 2023's box office bombs.

Finally released (both in theaters and on the Shudder streaming service) in early 2023 after first screening in 2020, writer-director Kurt Wimmer's reboot is actually the 11th film to be based on Stephen King's 1977 short story about a cult of demon-worshipping Nebraska children (dating back to the 1984 adaptation from Fritz Kiersch), but only the third to receive theatrical distribution. The score speaks for itself: Critics hated it.

Despite an attempt to spruce up their stories with sci-fi-like special effects, the filmmakers fail to make a compelling case (or an entertaining movie), according to reviewers.

Metacritic's Official Worst Movie of 2023

Oh Pooh. Perhaps the sole argument in favor of unlimited copyright protection, Blood and Honey takes the now-public domain characters from A.A. Milne's beloved children's books and puts them in a bloody slasher film. (Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet are now serial killers stalking female college students—a plot twist we don't quite recall from the books.) Shot in less than two weeks for a budget of under $100,000, Pooh was surprisingly successful at the box office, grossing north of $5 million despite (or because of) the negative press surrounding the film.

The filmmakers will get a rare chance at back-to-back #1 titles when a sequel to Blood and Honey arrives in February.

Seventeen  fills, three  WIPs and a couple of ideas.  Have one bingo & am shooting for hopefully one more bingo with the fics listed below - thanks to the mods extending the deadline by a week!  

* A1 - Harem -  Posted  Newcomer to the Seraglio  this morning - it’s a crossover with CABB Secret/Forbidden Relationship where Bucky and shrimpy!Steve are both concubines who are more interested in each other than their lord. It came in at 374 words.

* B2- Pets - wrote up a surprise fill  – Reluctant Four Footed Heroes  – inspired by a round of square interpretation during the BBB Discord party.  Stucky domestic shenanigans with Alpine & Dodger.  This ficlet is coming in at 217 words and will post on the 27th. 

* A4 - Fairy Tale Curse  - this seems custom-made for a continuation of Beyond the Beast😁  Nothing written yet, other than some Vague Ideas.  It’s fighting me at the moment and am not sure this is going to make it after all.   

* C2 - Meet Ugly - Finished up Deck the Halls -  a No Powers AU holiday fic that crosses over with my Winter Break Advent calendar prompt Day 1:  Putting Up Holiday Decorations at the Hospital.  It’s coming in at  509 words and it will post on Friday. 

* C3 - FREE -  Filled this with Chapter 2 of   Half of the Flesh and Blood That Makes Me Whole   - a Bucky POV remix of at least the first part of Take What Was Wrong (And Make it Right).  It came in at  1362 words.  

Bucky Barnes Bingo  - [BBB_R5]   (Ends 10 Jan 2024)

I’ve got  twenty fills,  four bingos, two  WIPs,   and a couple more Vague ideas. Aiming for a blackout - we’ll see how close I get!  

* U3 - Fireplace -  got inspired with a new idea to write Making Room - a soft WinterPepperony + Morgan holiday ficlet.  It came in  at 253 words and will post on Friday.   

* C2 - Yelena Belova–   The plan is to use this prompt in the next chapter of Peresmešnik,  (aka Three Avengers and a Baby), which is I poked at a little this week and is currently sitting at 1551  words (800-ish of which are mine).

* C5 - Marriage of Convenience/Pretend Couple -  next chapter of   Lady Natasha’s Consort and Lord Steve’s Companion.    Got a spark of an idea the other day that might get me a bit further on this fic.  

* K3 - Magic -  Aro!Bucky healing with a kiss idea?

* Y4 - Forgotten Things -    see SVB  FREE above

* May Adopted - Insomnia - finally got this filled with The Dead of Night, which also filled a Flash Fiction Friday prompt [#FFF211 An Old Friend] along with my JBB FREE square. It came in at 317 words and will post to Ao3 before this event ends.

* August Adopted: Take the Shot - sounds like a WinterHawk fic to me… maybe cross over with JBB Touch-starved?  

Tony Stark Bingo Round 7  - [TSB_R7]   (ends 15 Feb)

Twenty  fills and zero WIPs as of the moment, with a couple of ideas in play.  

* S1 - Galaxy - possibly use in final chapter of   Never More to Go Astray ?  

* T2 - KINK: Cock-blocking 'bots -  I still want to combine this with  the  Fictober Day 27: prompt   "I don't know if they will accept this."   

* T5 - Shawarma - possible crossover with SAUB Canon Divergence – Battle of New York-related?

* A2 - KINK: Concubine - possible crossover with SAUB Gentle Dom  and SRB Multiple Submissives.  I’ve got a fairly fleshed out  (so to speak) story in mind   (Dom!Tony/sub!Steve/sub!Bucky) - just need to get it on paper.   

* A3 -  FREE  – @SomeSortofItalianRoast and I are looking at collabing on a  Steve/Tony/Scott fic - maybe throw in a Comfortember prompt?  

* R5 - Doppelganger/Evil Twins -   The Flash Fiction Friday prompt [#FFF214 Broken Mirror] got me at least a good start on the idea I’ve been playing with for this square. I posted NamNori on Tumblr and have a general idea of how I want to build on it to also fill my SAUB AU: Crack square. It’s currently sitting at 360 words.

Harry is an architect and the reluctant part-owner of his own firm. Malfoy works at The Ministry but doesn’t actually have a proper job title even though what he does sounds as though it’s pretty important. It would probably be harder not to become friends, when they have to sit through endless, dull meetings with each other, and skirt around some truly terrible weather, and deal with Harry’s irrational hatred of his assistant, and build thirty whole houses from the ground up in a wet field outside of London.

I found another banger. I know. I know. It's Japanese, but let me share and wax poetic if you don't mind. . After 5 Clash by Toshiki Kadomatsu is straight fire. It's a clapper...but then again, it would be called City Pop. But it's not. It's soul music. I'll die on my sword for it. . I've notice something interesting in music as of late. Many listeners are looking backwards, picking up vinyl, doing remixes with old beats but giving it a new name. I've been listening to a lot of 'City Pop' but it has beats and cold ass bass riffs from the likes of Patrice, Quincy and Earth, Wind and Fire. . Especially the Japanese flavor. It's done so well. Like, extremely well and it saddens me that my melanated peoples are reluctant to give it a chance the moment a different language starts. . I mean, soul is universal...right? Okay! I have a burning question for you, my dude. Music is my life, and I wanna know what kind of music the OPM casts listen to. Thanks, my guy!

I had a feeling this would be inevitable lol. I don’t really know a whole lot about music or genres or anything like that so I’m just gonna give you a rundown of each character individually and some song recs along with that just to smooth things out a little. Thanks for your ask, by the way! ❤️ Now my playlists will be put to good use.

A Brief Rundown of the Major OPM Characters’ Music Tastes:

Blast: hc that he doesn’t even have ears since he never fucking LISTENS

Terrible Tornado: Stuff that makes her feel powerful. Loud vocals and good instrumentals. Also, she’s a little angsty since she’s saltier than the gotdamn Pacific almost all of the time. (Recs: Florence and the Machine - How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, Susanne Sundfør - Delirious, Florence and the Machine - What Kind of Man, Kali Uchis - Dead to Me, Let’s Eat Grandma - Falling Into Me)

Fubuki: some of that real classy shit. Slow songs that are nice to just have a cup of tea with. Nothing too meaty or fast-paced, she enjoys taking a moment to breathe every once and a while since life gets pretty hectic when you’re managing a gang of some 30 hooligans. (Recs: Wes - Midnight Low, any song from Lana Del Rey’s entire discography lol, Florence and the Machine - Grace, The Marìas - I Don’t Know You, Yellow House - Ain’t Gonna Call, Feng Suave - Toking, Dozing)

Silverfang: Stuff from his time. I hc that he was a bit of a party animal back in his prime so he’s gotta have those grooves. Disco to the extremo. Also, another hc: Garou absolutely hates his music. He would play it during training and Garou would contemplate homicide. Bomb: save as Silverfang, although I hc that Bomb was a little more of a nerd growing up. Still, he never missed out on a good party. Atomic Samurai: Old shit. Shit older than Silverfang. He’s really not that old, but his soul is fucking ancient and he’s got that classic “grrr music these days sucks” kind of shithead attitude. (Recs: Jim Croce - Time in a Bottle, Dion - Runaround Sue, The Carpenters - The End of the World, The Band - The Weight)

Child Emperor: Upbeat synth. Stuff to listen to while he’s working on his machines and whatnot. Probably has meaty beats to keep him in tune with what he’s doing, like working around a clock. Probably some groovy citypop in there too. (Recs: Taeko Ohnuki - 4:00 AM, Junko Ohashi - Telephone Number, Tatsuro Yamashita - Magic Ways, Hiroyuki Sawano - NEXUS, Superfly - Kakusei, Mariya Takeuchi - Plastic Love)

Metal Knight: Intrumentals that Disney villains listen to. Deep, dark shit that makes you feel sad. He probably feeds off of negative emotion. What a toolbag. (Recs: Lucas King - Sociopath, Abel Korzeniowski- Table for Two, Max Richter - Never Goodbye, Max Richter - She Remembers, Evelyn Stein - Quiet Resource, Mac Quayle - Adagio in G Minor)

King: video game soundtracks, obviously. Might be some electro funk in there too, as a treat. (Recs: Metal Gear Solid 3 OST - Snake Eater, Mick Gordon - Rip and Tear, Xenoblade Chronicles OST - Main Theme, Persona 5 OST - Last Surprise, Daft Punk - Verdis Quo, Toby Fox - Hopes and Dreams, Disasterpeace - Prologue, iamthekidyouknowwhatimean - Run, Darren Korb - Old Friends)

Zombieman: Dad Music. Old rock that makes you wanna rail some lines of white thunder and dance on top of a car. He’d be reluctant to try out new stuff but does so nevertheless. Just a little bit of weird alternative here and there. (Recs: Poison - Unskinny Bop, Mötley Crüe - Dr. Feelgood, Black Sabbath - War Pigs, Def Leppard - Animal, CRX - Walls, MGMT - Little Dark Age, Pink Floyd - Money, Queens of the Stone Age - Villains of Circumstance)

Drive Knight: Dark synth, obviously. Need I say more? (Recs: El Tigr3 - She Swallowed Burning Coals, Trevor Something - Enjoy the Silence, Greg Drombrowski - Devour, GUNSHIP - Woken Furies, GUNSHIP - Thrasher, Carpenter Brut - Invasion A.D., Kavinsky - Nightcall)

Pig God: this guy probably just listens to ASMR of people eating food lol.

Superalloy Darkshine: Upbeat stuff that’s good for exercise; loving those new jams along with some of the old. He’s got a pretty groovy style. (Diane Ross - Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, Saint Motel - Puzzle Pieces, CRUISR - All Over, Barry White - Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up, Sade - Kiss of Life)

Watchdog Man: 10 hour loop of wolves howling on a summer night.

Flashy Flash: classical. Some nice instrumentals to listen to while training. Stuff that preferably doesn’t have any or very little lyrics so it’s not too busy on his ears while he’s fantasizing about killing someone. (Recs: Vaughn Williams - The Lark Ascending, Debussy - Rêverie, Grieg - Peace of the Woods, André Laplante - Une Barque sur L’Ocean)

Metal Bat: Modern alternative. A little bit harder than say, Mumen and Kama, but not as hard as Zombieman or Death Gatling. He’s that middle ground where he’s still got some real bangers, but Zenko can listen as well. He’ll play this stuff loudly as he’s doing chores and working out, no headphones ever. It gets pretty annoying. (Recs: Foals - Exits, The Blue Stones - Black Holes, Solid Ground, CRX - Broken Bones, Jungle - Happy Man, The Strokes - Reptilia, We Are Trees - Girlfriend)

Genos: synth. But not just any synth, some heavy, fast-paced synth that’s just like him: speedy, relentless, and powerful. He listens to shit that’ll make you wanna get up and start killing Terminators. Probably. There’s some other synths in the mix too because we love a three-dimensional king. (Recs: Carpenter Brut - Division Ruine, The Protomen - I Still Believe, Carpenter Brut - Leather Teeth, Gunship - Tech Noir, TWRP - Phantom Racer, Le Castle Vania - Red Circle)

Tanktop Master: Dad music but the type of dad music that makes you think your dad was a sappy nerd back in the day. Long tracks that are good for workouts. (Tears for Fears - Woman in Chains, Pink Floyd - Us and Them, Duran Duran - Ordinary World, Billy Idol - Eyes without a Face, A Flock of Seagulls - I Ran, The Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky, Tears for Fears - Sowing the Seeds of Love)

Puri-Puri Prisoner: Pop. Dance music. He doesn’t really get to listen to a lot of music in prison, so he holds on to whatever he can and savors every second of it. (Coldplay - Talk, Bruno Mars - Runaway Baby, Lady Gaga - Bad Romance, Flo Milli - Beef Flomix, Doja Cat - Say So)

Mumen Rider: Hes a lighthearted, soft boy. Likes some fluffy indie tunes. It helps to motivate him when working out or doing hero stuff. He might need to cry every once in a while though, so there’s some sad songs in the mix too. (Recs: Varsity - The Dogs Only Listen to Him, The The - This is the Day, Amarante - Don’t Look Back, Alvvays - Saved by a Waif, The Monkees - As We Go Along, Acid Ghost - Hide my Face, Mogwai - Take Me Somewhere Nice)

Sonic: same as Flash. He’s a little more hip with the times however, so he’s got some more groovy, electronic instrumentals to listen to in addition to some elegant stuff and isn’t opposed to having a little bit of lyrics sprinkled in there as well. In fact, he’s not opposed to uppity pop either. He thinks dancing is frivolous but he secretly does it when he thinks nobody is looking. (Additional Recs: Odesza - Bloom, Pretty Lights - One Day They’ll Know [Odesza Remix], BØRNS - Electric Love, Hembree - Culture, The Cinematic Orchestra - Arrival of the Birds)

Garou: same as Metal Bat. Bang let him have a little MP3 player during his time at the dojo and has since collected a few songs on there. They’re very near and dear to his heart since it’s one of the few good things that came from his absolute disaster of a childhood. (Additional Recs: Foals - Inhaler, CRX - Slow Down, Deep Sea Arcade - Close to Me, Gorillaz - Empire Ants, The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger, Glass Animals - Take A Slice)

Death Gatling: Shit your old Vietnam-vet grandpa would blast on the back of his F150. He gives me self-righteous asshole vibes, if I’m honest. Like, don’t get me wrong, I like Death Gatling, but he seems like the type of trailer park-dwelling sewer rat to carry a revolver into a Walmart for “self defense” and that’s probably the type of music he listens to, too. (Recs: Megadeth - Trust, Megadeth - Angry Again, Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son, Glen Campbell - Southern Nights, Mötley Crüe - Kickstart My Heart, Quiet Riot - Cum on Feel the Noize)

One-Shotter: I hard hc that he had an emo phase he never quite grew out of. He doesn’t quite listen to emo anymore but he’s still into that alternative shit. Homeboy also likes some slow tunes every once and a while because he’s an emotional dude who’s not afraid of a good cry. (Recs: Anything from Blink-182, Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know?, MGMT - When You Die, Mazzy Star - Fade Into You, Cigarettes After Sex - Dreaming of You, Yon Ort - Other Matter)

Lightning Max: Same as Genos but without the terminator-killing. Fast-paced stuff because he’s a fast lightning dude. A little more upbeat because he’s not as much as an edgelord as Genos, however. (Additional Recs: Carpenter Brut - Hang’em All, The Flaming Lips - Do You Realize, Worn Tin - Sensitivity, B.E.R. - The Night Begins to Shine, Martin Hall - Different Kind of Love)

Stinger: he’s all about that FUNK! Stuff that gets him moving! Stuff that makes him wanna dance! (Recs: Daft Punk - Doin’ it Right, TWRP - Body Image, Wild Cherry - Play that Funky Music, Chemise - She Can’t Love You, Saga - Wind Him Up, Saga - On the Loose, TWRP - All Night Forever)

Okamaitachi: they give me electro vibes! New, modern shit that’s good to dance to or to just sit down and have a listen! Also, some shit that’ll probably play in a coming-of-age teen movie or something. They don’t really vibe with heavy music and that’s alright, babey! Keeping it light and bouncy. (Recs: Tei Shi - Bassically, Varsity - Must Be Nice, Class Actress - Weekend, CHVRCHES - Richard Pryor, Alvvays - Marry Me, Archie, Sobs - Telltale Signs, Goth Babe - Sometimes, ALASKALASKA - Meateater)

Iaian: Nice, low tunes that are good for meditation and to be used for background noise during training sessions. He never really sits down to listen to music, it’s always in the background of something else he’s doing so he prefers to have some soft beats that don’t really interfere with his senses. Tunes so quiet, he sometimes uses them as lullabies; especially since the trauma of losing his arm has since made it hard to sleep. (Recs: Boy Scouts - Saddest Boy, Susanne Sundfør - Mantra, Vashiti Bunyan - If I Were the Same but Different, Starman Jr. - Blue Fairy, Patrick Watson - Je te Laisserai des Mots, Sibylle Baier - I Lost Something in the Hills)

Bushidrill: same as Atomic Samurai just without the shitty attitude. He’s happy to listen to some newer stuff, he just doesn’t like it and that’s okay, baby! Probably some classy shit your wise old grandpa would listen to. (Recs: Dean Martin - Volare, Dion - The Wanderer, Peppino Gagliardi - Che Vuole Questra Musica Stasera, anything from Luis Miguel lol, Franco Micalizzi - Sadness Theme)

Amai Mask: probably just listens to his own music like a putz. If not, he’s listening to the sound equivalent of glittering diamonds. He’s probably got this shit playing at the end of a long day while he’s chilling in a hot bath or something. (Recs: Fergie - Glamorous, Rita Ora - Hot Right Now, Lana Del Rey - Freak, Lana Del Rey - Art Deco, Tame Impala - Feels Like We Only Go Backwards)

Saitama: He doesn’t listen to music much anymore, sadly. He did, however, have a killer motivational mix to get him through his vigorous training prior to becoming a hero. (Recs: Paul Engemann - Push it to the Limit, Journey - Don’t Stop Believin’, College & Electric Youth - A Real Hero, Joe Esposito - You’re the Best Around, Survivor - Eye of the Tiger, The Bee Gees - Nights on Broadway)

Hi this is not Cloti related but do you have an analysis on Cloud's relationship with Jessie? Particularly during chapter 4 after the bike mini-game? Cloud looks worried

So Cloud and Jessie, the girl who absolutely has no issue throwing herself at our boi. It's pretty good for him because at least he gets used to girls being all over him and helps him make his mind up just who he wants to show attention to #cough# Tifa #cough#

Ok, spoiler warning for ppl who haven’t played – do I still need to do this? Eh ok, (I tag FF7R spoilers as final fantasy 7 remake spoilers) and it’s gonna be smol.

Also, this is one person’s interpretation of the scene, so if you disagree that’s cool and we’ll agree to disagree.

You’re also gonna have to excuse the janky quality on some of the screens, I’m grabbing them from Youtube and it’s frustrating af trying to get the exact moment I want.

Recap time!

Chapter four and our reluctant hero has been roped into help the avalanche trio go topside. Problem is they missed the last train and have to take their bikes instead. Cue a few problems with security and a meeting with the master of extra, Roche. Once that's out of the way, Jessie rewards Cloud depending on your expertise.

This scene has 3 optional endings.

Quick aside, I find it hilarious that Cloud literally tells Jessie to shut up and get off the bike when she starts annoying him during the minigame.

Ok, ending one. The bad ending where Jessie's beyond disappointed with you. These are hard to pick apart because a lot of Cloud's attention is on the road, so the usual microexpressions are even harder to catch.

But look what I caught anyway! Check that brow quirking like “excuse you?” and it's accurate because he says he's a great driver in the next moment. I really love going over these scenes and spotting all these because they build such a clearer picture of Cloud is as a person. And clearly boi doesn't like his driving ability being questioned, especially seeing how Jessie didn't do squat to help him, aside from being annoying lol

Well, Cloud does seem a bit worried here if the frown is anything to go by. I'm guessing it's because this is the bad ending and as much as he's not into Jessie, he doesn't like people having a bad impression of him. He doesn't like the idea that he's not thought of as the big badass capable merc in all ways, so this could well be hints of that self-doubt coming through. 

Although, after watching the other two endings, this is the only time we see this typical cycle of expressions he does before concluding something. This is what I like to call a real!Cloud inner debate. Cloud often goes through a lot of quick expressions or his eyes dart around. Since they can’t do that here, we get the former. Judging from the frown at the end, he’s not impressed with his own performance and likely berating himself for not being good enough. Again. Someone call a therapist for Cloud, plz.

And moving onto the second ending, which you get if you did ok on the minigame. These are making me wonder which one's canon. I don't think it's the kiss and actually, it may well be the bad one since that's where we get the most facial expression and close ups from Cloud compared to the others where we see the back of his head or a mid range view.

For this scene we only get one close up of Cloud's face and it's pretty much SOLDIER!Cloud and then the next time he speaks you can't even see his face. This is the kind of thing that hints to me which optional scene is the one we're supposed to be getting for Cloud's narrative story (and that I actually forgot about for my playthrough as Cloud lol I got the middle one because I kinda suck at fighting Roche, but I try).

Yeah, so a lot of sighing from Cloud at Jessie, the annoyed kind. I mean, we know she kinda irritates him, but he likes her too, just not in a romantic way. You also don't see his reaction to her “I might be falling after all” line and only hear him say “hmm?” Then when his face is next in frame it's full on SOLDIER, so there's really nothing to pick apart.

And now the good ending where you get a kiss from Jessie! Ooh lala!!

CLOUD'S FACE HERE! OMG I'M DYING! He's such a boi in a man sometimes! Adorable af! Definitely never even had a kiss on the cheek before in his life and look at the ott reaction to it!

WAIT! Wait! I've seen that face before somewhere!

YES OMG I'M DYING! It's the same reaction as the one to Aerith's best dress! OMG!

Ok, so...looool ok....I can be sensible here....maybe loool erm, the unrealistic expression on Cloud's face shows that it's unlikely this is the outcome that happened. But, on the other hand if the red dress happened then so did this kiss, so choose your poison lol

Ok, sensible. Kinda. 

And last one where Cloud looks grim af as usual, but with a hint of “what do I do about this?” because Jessie kissed him and he's not interested and he has no clue what to do with women and likely wants to reject her, but still doesn't know what to do with women, so you can see the dilemma he's in lol

It doesn't help when Jessie tries calling him out on it and he has this tiny frown in response. His attention is split between trying to talk to her and driving, so it's no wonder he's not that talkative and abrupt. If I wanted to speculate I'd say if he actually had an interest in her as more than friends he'd have tried harder. He had his little chat with Marle already, so he's not opposed to putting himself out if he wants to. He doesn't here, but he's still trying to concentrate, so that could explain the lack of attention, but still, Jessie kissed him and he got scowly.

Conclusion.

Well, I for one didn't remember there were 3 of these endings – each with their own remix of Jessie's theme, just like another 3 optional scenes with a remixed theme lol the parallels are killing me!

The music for each should also hint at which one is the narrative canon – I'm useless with music analysis so bear with me. The first one does sound like it fits with the other girls' themes, so very simple, easy to listen to in the background and memorable in its way. The second is louder and has more techno notes in, making it seem less like a background piece and more in your face. The last one has vocalists and is a full on pop song! No way is that right lol

For two of the three of these we don't really get much in the way of Cloud's face. It could be put down to him driving, but we get a couple of very good close ups on the bad one with varied expressions, one of which definitely goes towards his personal motivation to be thought of as a hero. Having people point out his faults would cause that kind of reaction.

The second result really doesn't have much in the way of facial expression and Cloud's voice is brisk because he's driving, so I can't really say much about it one way or the other. It’s the one I get the most when I’m playing and it’s kinda blah. Like your standard minigame pass screen. That probably didn’t help.

The last one is hilarious! That's such an exaggerated expression! Do people really believe Cloud pulls that kind of pikachu face on the regular?! I legit needed to stop because I couldn't stop laughing! That's not Cloud or real!Cloud, that's just bloody funny! Also, Cloud doesn't seem too impressed by the result if that last minute frown is any indication. He doesn't want Jessie kissing him, even though it's probably the first time any girl has kissed him – poor sweet summer child lol

If I had to make a guess at the narrative canon I'd say number one, because we know for a fact that Cloud hasn't been driving for years. Boi gets motion sickness ffs! And when did he ever drive a motorcycle? I'd definitely buy that being one of the first times he's ever driven, which would explain why he did so poorly and why he has multiple varied expressions in that result.

Is Izuku still part of the rescue squad to take back Bakugou after the incident at the summer camp? Or do those events play out different in the Alley Cat au?

I’m still working that out.

The base AU I’m remixing had the Aizawas be the victims of the abduction this time, but the events leading up to that are entirely different here. That said, Izuku might well be a target once All for One figures out that he was born Midoriya Izuku. All for One does not like having things that belong to him taken away. He’s lost Izuku once, and having him turn up again almost a decade later calling himself Aizawa Izuku instead just feels like a slap in the face. Finding that his father on record is Aizawa Shouta, and that his first failed nomu has been hiding in plain sight this whole time is even more frustrating, but he can deal with getting Aizawa back after he’s got his son back. Maybe he and Izuku can kill him together - it’ll be a nice father-son bonding activity. Like fishing, only brutally removing your rival father-figure and then reforging him into another mindless nomu to make your triumph absolute.

All of which means that Hitoshi is the one leading the rescue squad this time around, and Izuku and Bakugou are captives together. This also means that All for One is on the scene from the beginning, because he wants his son back. Actually...this might be how the Midorigiri reveal happens. Because what better way of luring a very reluctant Izuku back than to reveal that his mother is alive...sort of. Certainly around. Granted, revealing that he were the one who did this to her is really not going to help All for One’s case.

Also that Aizawa was undoubtedly on the scene at the time of the fight, and might actually have got there first, as he’s more tapped-in to the underworld rumour mill than any of the heroes. This might actually be the first time a lot of the heroes on the scene have ever actually seen Alley Cat, who has a way of making himself scarce whenever heroes come looking for him, and none of them are people who knew him when he was younger, so it goes without comment. All Might probably asks why he’s here. Aizawa can’t say that that’s his son, so his response is that the Aizawa family live in his area, and are thus under his protection, and he promised he’d bring their brother home. All of which is true, just...not quite accurate. There are probably a few people on the scene who want to arrest him for vigilantism, but the League of Villains is a bigger concern, and letting Alley Cat slip away at the end  of the night is...broadly forgivable.

Thoughts on Soranort?

“Hey, I got an idea. Ask your heart. See if it’s got a clue.”

“Well…my heart was aching. That’s why I kept going.”

It was almost too much to bear. The sorrow—the pain, and so many other feelings. A suffering so much greater than anything he’d ever known. Hatred, sadness, anger, jealousy, fear, resentment, anguish, envy, uncertainty, pain, despair. Who did these feelings come from? Roxas? That woman? Those two people called me Ven—maybe him? Or someone else?

“Oh… Thank you, Sora’s heart, for pushing him right into our clutches. Aren’t hearts great? Steer us wrong every time,” Xigbar remarked, mocking as ever.

Personally, I don’t think he would have made a good Nort. But that’s why he was the hero.

Sora was targeted as a vessel because he had pain inside of him. The pain wasn’t really his, though. It was the memories inside of him, which didn’t even belong to him. That’s why I think he’d make a pretty boring seeker of darkness, from a story standpoint. He’s better suited as the hero. I think almost all the Norts were handled VERY poorly, though. The Dark Seeker Saga just turned out to be a huge flop in the end. It was supposed to be all about healing pain. Not just for the missing guardians of light. But the seekers of darkness, too. There was a reason they all got Norted, which KH3 did a VERY poor job explaining. It was because they all had pain that led them to abandoning their heart.

Ansem’s mouth twisted into a smirk. “If he wavers from the path we lay, we destroy him.”

“But in that case…we’ll have to find ourselves another vessel.”

Xigbar barked a laugh. Another vessel…, he says, as if it’s nothing. Just one piece of their grand, far-reaching plan.

“That is why we never have just one iron in the fire,” Xemnas replied matter-of-factly.

KH3 was supposed to be all about Xehanort’s search for a replacement vessel after Sora failed in KH3D. Vessels are not easy to come by, so “reserve members” shouldn’t even be a thing. I think the person they were supposed to be talking about in this scene was Davy Jones. He was a perfect vessel because he didn’t have a heart, but he didn’t die. He cast away his heart because it caused him pain. He would have been like the Beast in KH2, where they were trying to get him to join he organization. 

This world could have felt like it was relevant to the main story. But Davy Jones’ heart got little focus and all anyone cared about was the stupid black box, which isn’t even relevant in this game. The whole idea of the seekers of darkness becoming vessels because of pain got very little attention. When you defeated them in the Keyblade Graveyard, there should have been a sense of healing for each character’s pain and a sense of resolution to their story. The sad remix of the organization music was SO GOOD. Instead, most of them ended on a cliffhanger, which is absurd.

And then there was the heart that nestled close to mine. There, it continued to quietly encourage me. If he hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t be here now, standing in front of his grave.

Master, did you forgive me? Or maybe I haven’t been forgiven yet and I’m only still here so I can atone? I know there are no answers to my questions and no one has to forgive me for my sins. Even entertaining the thought of being forgiven is so presumptuous of me. A weakness.

The only vessel handled even semi-decently was Terra. His personal pain was given a lot of focus in BBS, so his story didn’t feel particularly incomplete… except when it came to Eraqus. I don’t feel Terra got proper closure with him. Terra didn’t even know if Eraqus forgave him, which is just sad. Terra’s messed up relationship with Eraqus was the whole reason he fell to darkness. It was his doubt that Eraqus truly loved him like a son that made him so susceptible to manipulation. It broke my heart how Terra was reluctant to hug Eraqus at the end.

“Not your concern.” With those parting words, Xehanort strode away. Eraqus slammed a fist into the floor as he watched him go.

Why did I fail to stop him? Is it my fault? Where did I go wrong? Is the darkness itself what beguiled him so? Must this plague steal my dear friend from me?

Then you got Young and Master Xehanort. In BBS, people kinda saw Xehanort as Lord Voldemort. People couldn’t see how Terra could trust him, because he was so obviously evil. But he was human, too. He was Eraqus’s dear friend. I’d be willing to bet it was some personal pain with Eraqus that led to Xehanort falling to darkness completely. Xehanort had no backstory, though, so it was hard to understand why he gave up or why he and Eraqus seemed so happy together in the end.

Ansem talked about some kind of betrayal, but I had no idea what he was even referring to here. 

Xemnas also had pain. He had Terra’s memories, spent years looking for Ventus in the Chamber of Waking. He was lonely, though this is never explored in any way.

I think Luxord probably joined the organization voluntarily. But why? He isn’t loyal to Xemnas. I doubt his original backstory was being some amnesiac Keyblade wielder from the age of fairy tales. He hinted at some personal pain due to “compulsive behavior”. I’m sure he had a sad backstory that caused him to join for his own reasons.

Why am I in the Organization? Well, I mean, there’s lots of reasons, but—oh, right! I wanted friends, right? Oh, no. Wow, actually no, that sounded way uncool but… now I’m thinking back on it and I’m just like, yeah, I guess it kinda was like that, huh.

Aside from the whole old guys’ club going on, it kinda seems like there were a lotta tight-knit groups in the Organization. Y’know, like Axel and Saix, Marluxia and Larxene, Zexion and Vexen, and Xaldin and Lexaeus? And I guess in the end, I hung out with the old guy a lot.

Yeah, so it’s not like it’s a big deal, seriously that’s it. I hate fighting and jamming out is way more fun. Sad stuff, painful stuff, why would I wanna do anything like that?

Let’s assume that Demyx was supposed to be a real member of the true organization instead of Xion (which is what I believe). His Character File story hints that he had pain and also that he became very close to Luxord. Which makes sense because they were some of the only members left after Castle Oblivion. Axel spent all his time with Saix, Roxas, and Xion. So, Demyx and Luxord really had no one else, and probably hung out with each other a lot. So, Demyx might have joined because of Luxord. But this is never explored in any way and Demyx is just a plot device to deliver Replicas.

SYMBOLISM Strelitzia is seen as the flower of freedom, and also represents immortality and paradise.

In early trailers, Marluxia had green eyes in the Rapunzel world, meaning he was not even supposed to be fully Norted before the final battle. So, I think he did join the organization of his own free will. But he had personal pain that led up to it. The loss of his sister. She said she’d carry him on her back, then his final boss form in CoM has him riding atop this strange woman figure. All very interesting. This is something that should have been wrapped up in this saga, though.

Sigh, it was so much better when I had no heart. When I didn’t have to worry about things like liking someone. Becoming fond of something is painful. That’s why those feelings were taken advantage of.

I think Larxene loved Marluxia and wanted to be by his side. She didn’t even want to regain a heart because it caused her pain. There should have been resolution to that at the end of KH3 instead of leaving it dangling.

Xigbar had pain, too. He was constantly haunted by his memory of Ventus glaring at him. You could tell that he was jealous of the bonds the other characters had. He commits suicide at the end due to the guilt he has. I would have said that his story was handled well if it ended with his suicide. It was pretty sad. But they reversed it and made it out to be a ruse. Xigbar was just faking his entire personality the whole time and was really Luxu all along. WTF!? I just can’t…

I wanted to be like you. I was jealous of you. Who was I exactly? Did I even exist? I’m just a puppet with no heart whose fake memories were planted in my head.

I was made, I’m artificial, I’m a fake. What do I need to become a real person? Or rather, was I a real fake? I fell into the dark and wandered the world of darkness.

Riku Replica’s story wasn’t resolved well, either. He spends all of CoM being tormented about not being the real Riku and that no doubt leads him to joining the organization. But then after he’s defeated, he gets no closure to his identity crisis. Instead, another “good” Riku Replica comes and rips the “evil” Replica’s soul out (WTF?) and then that story is over. It becomes all about Namine at that point. He sacrifices his only chance at life for her, which is kinda weird and depressing. I would have preferred if Riku Replica gained some kind of peace with being a part of Riku and then going home into his heart, like Xion did at the end of Days.

Whereas Ven’s worries and suffering were proof of his growth, his proclivity toward the light, Vanitas’s own misery was merely a pitch-black morass that brought with it nothing but pain.

We’re so different, but I could feel you every step of the way. I bet you didn’t notice me at all. What does this battle between us mean to you? You probably don’t have a clue that it means our hearts are intertwining. The fight itself doesn’t matter. What’s important is that our struggle makes us feel the same things. You hate me for trying to hurt your friend now, right? And I hate you right back for having friends at all.

Never once is any attention given to Vanitas’s pain. He despised Ventus and was jealous of the fact that he had friends. All the Unversed came from his negative emotions. Ventus told him they were the same and that he needed to come home inside of his heart, but…he doesn’t? Instead of finding some kind of peace by going back to Ventus, he just… disappears. 

The person who probably suffered the most was Axel. Because he’s the one who forgot the most. Being forgotten and forgetting, they’re both painful.

Saix’s pain turned out to be a joke. He couldn’t find some random girl he spoke to a few times, boo hoo, such a sad tragic backstory. He had to be quickly turned into a good guy before the epilogue, so he only joined to “atone” not because of any pain. His real pain was supposed to be about his relationship with Lea.

Cancer is ruled by the Moon, the planet of receptivity. It’s the zodiac sign related to feeling and emotions in our hearts. Cancer is, in many ways, the most sensitive and vulnerable sign of the zodiac. They feel deeply, but they’re not sure what to do about their feelings.

Emotions tend to play a dominate role in the lives of people born under Cancer. Naturally defensive and sometimes afraid of being hurt, they tend to put their heart and soul into all their relationships, and are very faithful, loyal and loving partners. Cancer people are extremely sensitive to matters of the heart. It is easy to hurt their feelings and they become deeply emotionally wounded when wronged, and can take a long time getting over it.

Also, I just really like the idea of Saix as a Seeker of Darkness. Cancers have very delicate hearts and are very emotional people who are vulnerable to pain.

1. Intro: Karma - y/n = Alarm - Anne-Marie

Karma is about how angry y/n is at Jimin, but also at herself for ignoring her doubts about him. How she knew he was cold and detached and that should’ve alerted her to the fact that she shouldn’t have gotten with him. And for what they both did to each other, they’re both suffering from karma now. 

2. Love Me - y/n = And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going - Jennifer Hudson

Love Me is really sad and emotional, and the part of y/n that refuses to give up on her relationship with Jimin comes out in this song. When I watch Jennifer Hudson do this song in Dreamgirls (I recommend watching it), it makes me cry every time because of the raw emotion and heartbreak you can see, and those exact same feelings come through in Love Me. 

3. Shoes - y/n = If I Were A Boy - Beyonce

Shoes is y/n saying to Jimin that if she’d been in his shoes, she’d never have done what he did to her, and she’d also never be able to get away with the way he used to behave (the random girls every night and the drugs). Again, this is a very big song and so would be super emotional and upsetting because you’d just be able to hear the hurt in y/n’s voice.

4. Comfort - y/n, Chaeyoung & Jisoo = Teddy Bear - Melanie Martinez

I was kinda reluctant about this song at first but now, I feel like it works really well. y/n’s comfort zone, away from the pressures of her job, the tour, Vic and her past with Yoongi, was Jimin. He was her teddy bear in that she felt soothed and comfortable with him, just like kids do with their teddy bears, but then that thing that gave her the most comfort turned against her, and she has nothing to turn to anymore. Chaeyoung and Jisoo’s vocals would sound super pretty on this song, and also give it a haunting and creepy feeling.

5. Victory - y/n = The Winner Takes It All - ABBA

This is y/n’s admission to Jimin, her way of saying, ‘well done, you got what you wanted, you won, how does it feel now?’ It’s also slightly teasing, as if she’s asking him how his victory feels now he doesn’t have her anymore. It’s got quite bitter and angry undertone, but it’s mainly hopeless and completely sad. 

6. Wounds - y/n & Blackpink = Bad Blood - Taylor Swift & Kendrick Lamar

This is the stage where she starts to get over the initial sadness and heartbreak and gets a bit angry at him, saying she hates him and she can never move past what he did. She’s asking him why he did it, why he ruined everything they had, because now they can never go back to how they were. It's also quite a girl-power anthem which is why Blackpink are on the song too, Lisa and Jennie doing Kendrick’s raps, and Chae, Jisoo and y/n splitting up Taylor’s bits between themselves.

7. Broken - y/n & Jennie = Moving Along - 5 Seconds of Summer

This is the point where y/n’s trying to move on, but keeps looking back at Jimin, wondering how he’s doing and feeling now, whether or not he’s still broken too. It’s quite a chill and laidback song, and I think Jennie and y/n would sound really nice on this song together.

8. Dreaming - y/n & Blackpink = Love Me Like You - Little Mix

I always listen to this song when I’m in my feels because you can relate to it, but it also puts you in a good mood because it’s just like cute and upbeat. The girls would do this song really well and it reflects that relapse that everyone has when you’re trying get over someone, when you feel like no one else is as good for you as that person is. 

9. Hero - y/n (Mariah Carey cover)

This is the main turning point in the album, where y/n realises that she can’t mope anymore, and she has to become her own hero because no else is going to do it. This song is so emotional and beautiful, and y/n would pour her heart out into it, more than doing it justice.

10. Did Me Wrong - y/n ft. Blackpink = I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor

Here’s another girl-power anthem, y/n looking back and realising that she shouldn’t have been sad over him because he’s the idiot that did her wrong and she’s better off without him. It’s got the retro feel to it and I just think it’d sound really cute but also badass with all the girls on it.

11. Save - y/n & Lisa = Goodbyes - Post Malone & Young Thug

This song is a bit more mellow and laidback, showing y/n’s rationality when it comes to how she feels about Jimin. She’s accepted that their relationship couldn’t have worked because they both had personal shit that they needed to work through and fix before they even got together. y/n would have Post Malone’s bit and Lisa would have Young Thug’s bit to liven the song up a little bit.

12. Kill This Love - y/n & Blackpink (Remix)

Need I even say anything? Kill This Love perfectly sums up y/n and Jimin’s relationship and how it cannot continue whilst they are who they are now. y/n did Jennie and Lisa’s back and forth rap during the tour so she’d do that bit along with the outro section, as well as having a completely revamped backing track.

13. Burned Bridges - y/n & Jisoo = Cry Me A River - Justin Timberlake

This song came to y/n after seeing Jimin cry at the end of their first court visit, and it’s almost as if to say it’s too little too late. Jisoo and y/n would harmonise together to give the song a more complex and layered sound, and it’d be really pretty with all the extra sounds in the background.

14. Solo - y/n & Jennie (Remix)

This song also fits really well with y/n and Jimin’s relationship and basically says to Jimin that she is better off without him, and that he’d better start looking for a replacement because she’s going solo now. And of course Jennie had to be on this song too, so she’s still got her rap after the first verse, and they do the choruses together.

15. Ego - y/n & Chaeyoung = Obsessed - Maggie Lindemann

This song actually talks about how vain Jimin used to come across to y/n. She sings about the way he’d just sleep with all these random girls (because he could get whoever he wanted) and treat everybody coldly like he was above them (but implicitly, so she’s not exposing him), before admitting at the end that part of her loves his vanity, and it’s okay because she’s vain too. Chae’s voice would really suit this song because it’s really light and cute and so is Chae.

16. In My Blood - y/n (Shawn Mendes cover)

This song speaks a bit less about the relationship, and a bit more about y/n’s own personal battle with her mind over the years. First with her nightmares about her childhood friend, and now with the depressive state she’s been in since everything happened. It discusses how close she was to giving up, alluding to suicide, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it, because she knew she had to keep on fighting and stay strong. This song’s an empowering anthem and would fit really well with the theme of this album.

17. State of Mind - y/n ft. Chaeyoung & Jisoo = No Tears Left To Cry - Ariana Grande

State of Mind discusses how y/n’s moved past her sadness and now feels stronger and happier. It does mention that she still gets a bit sad, but that’s okay because her happiness outweighs that. Jisoo and Chae would do the harmonies throughout the song and all of their voices would layer over one another in that opening section in the music video. 

18. Outro: Bad Bitch - y/n ft. Blackpink = Sorry Not Sorry - Demi Lovato

This would be the perfect closing to the album, basically a final ‘fuck you’ to Jimin, a way of y/n saying to him that he better be regretting what he did because look at her now, she’s back and she’s better than ever, so he can hold that L. Again, this is another empowering anthem, and all of the girls would equally share out this song.
