3 "Star Trek" Titles Announced at IDW Publishing

IDW Publishing has announced three new limited comic book series set in the Star Trek Universe - Star Trek: Red Shirts, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - The Seeds of Salvation, and Star Trek: Voyager - Homecoming.

Star Trek: Red Shirts is a five-issue series from writer Christopher Cantwell and artist Megan Levens. The comic will feature a new team of characters and is set in the Original Series era. Said Chantwell, "STAR TREK: RED SHIRTS is in honor of the nameless vaporized, incinerated, and otherwise blown apart, where they’re the main characters of a STAR TREK-style suicide mission unlike any other. We will get to know these ensigns and lieutenants intimately before they are likewise crushed, disrupter’d, and sucked into space. Who will survive? Will any? And what is the true nature of their planetside mission to hunt down mysterious spies?" (IDW Publishing)

As you can see, I wanted the cast to be a mix of old and new actors, with a good chunk of the characters being voiced by previous voices.

And in a few case, they're still being voiced by their long-time recurring VAs.

En términos de personalidad, Benjamín tiene una actitud mansa, sensata y perspicaz, con algunas características que posee J.P Mercer, como ser ligeramente imaginativo e hiperconsciente. Es muy leal a Warren al grado de enamorarse de él, aunque esto no le impide tomarse muy en serio su título como portador. En el Capítulo/Episodio "Creación de los 19 portadores", se revela que Benjamín fue uno de los primeros seguidores de Warren antes de que los 19 portadores fueran creados, lo que lo hace alguien de respeto ante sus compañeros portadores y le brinda el mismo nivel de jerarquía que poseen los hermanos de Warren.

Benjamín tiene un primo menor con la misma edad que Jessica Williams, quien suele acompañarlo en algunas de sus salidas por ambos lados del arroyo. El único misterio en la vida personal de Benjamín, es la identidad de sus padres.

The three poses for Benjamin Grayson, the bearer of the Honeysuckle Gemstone, are now ready. Benjamin's outfit consists of an orange shirt, a lime green vest, pale brown pants and pink flip-flop sandals (a detail already mentioned in the previous post), being the only one who wears pants of this color due to his strong closeness with the Maslanys, specifically with Warren, his boyfriend.

In terms of personality, Benjamin has a meek, level-headed, and insightful attitude, with some features that J.P Mercer possesses, such as being slightly imaginative and hyper-aware. He is very loyal to Warren to the point of falling in love with him, although this does not prevent him from taking his title as bearer very seriously. In the Chapter/Episode "Creation of the 19 Bearers", it is revealed that Benjamin was one of Warren's first followers before the 19 Bearers were created, making him someone of respect among his fellow Bearers and giving him the same level of hierarchy that Warren's siblings possess.

Benjamín has a younger cousin the same age as Jessica Williams, who usually accompanies him on some of his outings on both sides of the creek. The only mystery in Benjamin's personal life is the identity of his parents.

J.P. Mercer and Barry Buns would be the bestest of friends <3 I just started watching Kiff and noticed they sounded so similar, to my surprise they're the same VA! They're even basically the same kind of character! I love when stuff like that happens.

Tea Timers:

1.Jane and George were growing tired by Eliza growing immaturity and eventually left here.

2.With both of her best friends gone Eliza began hanging out teens who genuinely didn’t like but were to scared not to be with her, example:Paloma.

3.Eventually Eliza and her new group decided to hang out in the creek as LARP knights for fun away from their stressful lives. Despite mostly keeping to themselves they rarely interact with the new kids in the Creek and have fun with them. Their like a gender bent elders but their social status the opposite of them.

4.Eliza’s costume was inspired by Tomans love of gardening.

5.Eventually Eliza reunites with George and Jane and the two occasionally join in on Eliza’s LARPING.

6.George goes to Herkleton College with Secret Keeper as his roommate.

The other Creek kids:

1.Craig took a gap year and started to live in Herkleton with Jason as his roommate after Craig flunked his college course.

2.Over the years Kelsey’s friend group has grew and shrank and is currently comprised of;Isabella “Stacks” Alverado, Vanessa “Wildernessa” Garcia, Barbara “Handlebarb” Voxner, and have just added Anthony “Toni” Wells(I liked the last name you gave Toni in your headcanon so I put it here) as the 5th member much to everyone’s approval. The 5 of them go on wacky adventures together usually involving doing something simple but being dragged into the Creek by the new Jr Forest scouts and wind up in some crazy scenario like the 5 of them being buried together under elder rock for hours.

3.J.P and Maney get a kid named;Maney Joan “M.J” Mercer and she is as weird as both of them combined.

4.Out of all the cliques to disband from the Creek only the Horse Girls stay together for the next 10 years.

5.Eileen is jokingly refereed to as “Sewer Queen” by her friends and the kid she babysits.

6.Craig returned to the Creek years after he and his family moved away and build a new friend group with:Eileen, Jason, Sparkle Cadet, and Cannonball.

7.This fanfic takes place in an AU were Craig didn’t learn the important life lessons the other side taught him about growing up and he moved away a year after the events of the show.

Ohhh, this all looks so interesting!

While I have some opinions over the first few numbers, the rest I'm intrigued by!

• I'm guessing Eliza's story is a parallel to Elder Mark, which is so interesting! I've always seen similarities to them, so it certainly caught my attention to read how the Tea Timers' falling out is almost as identical as the Elders'.

I was worried their friendship would be void, since that's what most grown up AUs do with the Tea Timers but I'm so glad they still keep in touch! I'm slightly disappointed that Eliza hangs out with people who don't enjoy her presence though,,, alongside her fate. But that's only a slight disappointment!

• Oh my god, Eliza's outfit being inspired by Toman is so cute 🩷 I can just imagine her having a wood nymph / fae type of outfits, keeping the nature-like vibe but also incorporating her pretty pink aesthetic into it. She'd be that kind of person who would fit right in at a renfaire.

• Considering how indecisive Craig can be about his future, I can see him being like that. I imagine him doing odd jobs around the town to pull his weight while rooming with Jason. Not to mention his new friend group - I wonder how that'll turn out

• Kelsey and JP seem to be doing well for themselves too! I'm loving how Kelsey's group is basically kind of like the Witches of the Creek, always being around for the scouts when they need them 💚

• It's funny how the horse girls were the group who stayed together 😭 [/positive!] is there any particular reason why they stood so strong?

Overall, I'm VERY intrigued with how this fanfic will develop, especially with all the things that's changed between the Creek Kids and everyone's friend groups being jumbled around. I really like it so far!

This melodrama about alcoholic codependency threatens to fall into didacticism, becoming a latter-day temperance lecture, but is rescued by the fine performances of Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick as Joe and Kirsten Clay. He's a ladder-climbing public relations man and she's the secretary to one of his clients; they fall in love, get married, have a child, and turn into self-destructive lushes. Eventually, with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous, and after a couple of harrowing relapses, he climbs out of it, but she refuses to admit that she has a problem that can't be solved with "will power." The film is unexpectedly bleak for one made with a solid Hollywood budget and two big stars -- both of whom received Oscar nominations -- directed by a man more famous for the Pink Panther movies and for his marriage to (and films with) Julie Andrews than for a serious problem drama. Fortunately, the film has a point to make: that alcoholism is a disease that manifests itself differently in each person who suffers from it. Joe, being a sociable type whose job has always involved drinking with clients, is the kind of person who benefits from the sense of community that AA provides. Kirsten, on the other hand, is a loner: an only child with a doting father (Charles Bickford); when we first see her she doesn't drink at all and is given to taking long walks alone on San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. It's Joe who introduces her to alcohol, which softens the rough edges of life -- without it, she says, everything looks "dirty." She feels comfortable denying her problem, even when it affects her marriage and her child so severely: At one point, in an alcoholic haze, she sets fire to their apartment. They love each other, but she's unable to express her love for Joe unless he drinks with her. The screenplay by J.P. Miller is a reworking of his TV drama that appeared on Playhouse 90 in 1958, starring Cliff Robertson and Piper Laurie. There is a bit too much Hollywood gloss on the film, including an Oscar-winning title song by Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer, but the thoughtful core of the narrative manages to surface because everyone resisted the tendency to paste an easy resolution of the Clays' problems on the end of the film.
