High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season 4 is shaping up to be the show’s most nostalgic season yet, and PEOPLE has the exclusive First Look at the stars in character, including Joshua Bassett (Ricky), Sofia Wylie (Gina), Julia Lester (Ashlyn), Dara Reneé (Kourtney), Frankie Rodriguez (Carlos), Joe Serafini (Seb), Liamani Segura (Emmy) and more.

Following a transformative summer away at camp, the new season follows the East High students as they enter their senior year — and it doesn’t take long before the drama picks up, both on and off stage. As the students prepare to put on a stage production of High School Musical 3: Senior Year, their plans are quickly derailed when it’s announced that Disney is making the long-awaited High School Musical 4: The Reunion movie at their high school, and they'll all be playing featured extras.

When PEOPLE visited the HSMTMTS set last year, many of the stars teased that this season feels like a “full-circle” moment as many OG High School Musical stars make cameos, including Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel, Bart Johnson, Alyson Reed and Kaycee Stroh.

“We've been manifesting it since day one and here we are four seasons later and we finally get to be with the OG Wildcat Group,” explains Lester, 23. “They embody the OG Wildcat spirit, we embody this new Wildcat spirit, and two groups blended together has been so wonderful.”

Bassett, 22, adds that it was especially moving to witness the OG HSM cast’s emotional response to returning to East High nearly 15 years after the final film wrapped. “It was really special to share that,” he says. “It was truly a beautiful thing and beyond what we were hoping for to have so many original people back.”

This season will also feature two new recurring cast members who stir things up for the East High students.

Descendants: The Rise of Red’s Kylie Cantrall plays social media star Dani, who sounds like an HSMTMTS take on Ashley Tisdale's Sharpay. “She likes the spotlight and when she wants something, she goes and gets it, even if it means stepping on people's toes a little bit,” teases Cantrall, 17.

Meanwhile, Doogie Kameāloha, M.D. star Matthew Sato joins the cast as a sitcom actor named Mack, who he says “develops a really interesting relationship” with Gina as the season progresses.

Naturally, this season will feature countless nods to the original HSM franchise with the music, storylines and even costumes. “It is so meta,” showrunner Tim Federle says of season 4. “It's like Inception with jazz hands at this point. I think there are Easter eggs in every episode.”

The major storylines in this season also draw inspiration from the third High School Musical movie, as many of the characters go on journeys of self-discovery in their final year at East High.

“We chose High School Musical 3 because they're literally graduating,” Federle says of the significance behind the students’ musical for this year. “Troy and Gabriela have these stories about being potentially pulled apart by circumstance and by growing up and that's exactly what Ricky and Gina are going through,” he adds of Bassett and Sofia Wylie’s characters, who share a passionate kiss at the end of season 3.

As for that season 3 cliffhanger, Bassett teases that fans will continue to see the “aftermath” of that relationship in the upcoming season. “They're both really nervous about getting it right,” he says of Ricky and Gina. “It’s fun to see [them] in this light and actually see them in a healthy relationship because I think both of them have had pretty not great relationships.”

Relationship drama and big decisions are key themes in season 4 as the characters prepare to graduate high school. “Kourtney is going through these massive decisions about wanting it all as a college student,” teases Federle, 43. “Ashlyn goes on a journey where she discovers her own queerdom in the series.”

“Those are all things we're able to address in a way that I think celebrates the original franchise but puts a stamp on it in our own way,” Federle adds.

As for what Federle hopes the show’s final stamp will be? The importance of community. “In the streaming era, there's something real about the phrase ‘It's now or never,’” he explains. “[To] still be on the air after four seasons is a blessing alone.”

“I hope what people take away [from the series] is that in a mean, mean world, it's really important to find your people who have your back,” he adds. “The world is mean enough, and there are certain pockets of the world that you can find your people and soar and not apologize for who you are.”

He continues, “That goes for our audience, and that goes for these characters and ultimately, it goes for the real-life cast, hoping from me that they carry this with them for the rest of their lives. That they had a place to go that was safe and where they were celebrated for all of their colors.”

“This was my first TV show,” he adds. “And what I promised Disney was that if they let me hire real theater kids, they wouldn't let me down. I'm so proud of them because when the world beats them up, they still show up for me and for each other.”

talk shop tuesday - do you have any fic ideas you want to write but just haven't gotten around to yet?

So many. That's actually why the AU Snippets series was started, I kept having like one scene of a fic and liked it but didn't have enough time to write the rest.

But yeah, there's part of a Cynco Little Mermaid (kind of) AU that's at a quick glance been in my notes since 2018. A probably Snowest Snow White AU. An originally Thallen now Westhallen Frog Prince AU (that one I really do want to write) (This was after writing a couple of other fairytale AUs and thinking of how to play around with them).

I kind of want to go back to Bluff Check and Altomcumulus Castellanus and write sequels but haven't sat down and thought about them enough yet.

There's the much more recently noted down barely there yet and deliberately not written yet note for an honestly probably crack fic titled "Batman: A Pantomime by the Gotham Amateur Dramatics Society" which will be a series of e-mails of the behind the scenes utter chaos as the director and script writer get visited by half of Gothams villains and half its heroes (also Superman) all weighing in their input (this is deliberately waiting until closer to Christmas, and for me to read some Golden/Silver Age Batman because I think that's the vibe I want to go for for Gotham.)

Apparently I noted down a Julia/Magnus Adventure Zone role reversal in 2019 where instead of razing Raven's Roost Kalen kidnaps Magnus and Julia goes around meeting the rest of the gang through various (mis)adventures, and the first half of the notes are really detailed and the second after I drop the joke I wrote the whole thing to make are just "and then they all save the day the end" so I was thinking I should just scrap that one but actually maybe I should just write the scene with the joke and stick that in the AU Snippets folder.

And I have a one sentence note that just says "how does Bart Allen find shoes" but that's not so much a plotted idea and more Bart has massive feet and I need his secrets to shoe finding because the women's section stops one size below mine and apparently most of the men's starts one size above and I spent three days working in broken shoes until I could go to Brighton and found one single pair of mens shoes that would fit and are black and now these are also breaking and I'm going to cry if I have to go buy new shoes. I'm just going to gaffa tape them

There's just so much to write and not enough time to write it all.

Nie zu spät (auf AO3, 2410 Wörter) eine Tatort Stuttgart Fanfic, post-"Die Nacht der Kommissare", Sebastian & Thorsten

Ich liebe dich. Die lange Nacht sitzt Sebastian noch in den Knochen, und besonders das, was Thorsten ihm da im Auto gesagt hat, geht nicht mehr aus seinem Kopf. Bei einem überfälligen Gespräch mit Thorsten werden so manche Geheimnisse gelüftet.

„Ich wollte mich bei dir bedanken.“ Sebastians Stimme klingt tief und sanft hervor aus dem Geräuschemeer von klirrendem Besteck und den Unterhaltungen der anderen Gäste des Cafés.

Thorsten schaut von seiner Tasse Kaffee auf, die er zwischen seinen Händen hin und her schiebt. Er guckt Sebastian ungläubig an. „Du willst dich bedanken? Bei mir?“

Sebastian nickt.

„Also wenn sich einer bedanken sollte, dann jawohl ich, weil du dich die ganze Nacht um mich gekümmert hast“, erklärt Thorsten.

Sebastian schüttelt seinen Kopf. „Das meine ich nicht. Du hast da was gesagt und–“ Er stockt und reibt sich mit den Fingerspitzen durch seinen Bart. „Naja, das hat mich in dem Moment zwar etwas überrumpelt, aber ich hab diesen Satz lange nicht mehr gehört. Auch wenn du alles andere als bei Sinnen warst, war das trotzdem–“ Er sucht kurz nach dem richtigen Wort. „Schön.“

Thorstens Hände stoppen und er wird auf einmal ganz still und ernst. Er hat wohl endlich verstanden, worauf Sebastian hinauswill. Er beißt sich auf die Unterlippe und sucht nun auch nach den richtigen Worten. Er atmet tief ein und öffnet den Mund, aber irgendwie kommt nichts von dem raus, was ihm gerade durch den Kopf schwirrt.

Sebastian wendet seinen Blick ab und er schaut auf den Tisch zwischen ihnen, auf die leeren Kuchenteller. Er rutscht etwas auf seinem Stuhl hin und her. „Das ist alles“, sagt er dann. „Es hat einfach gutgetan, das mal wieder zu hören. Das wollte ich dir nur sagen.“

Verstohlen schaut er immer wieder zu Thorsten, doch der meidet seinen Blick. Sebastian ist verwirrt. Vielleicht konnte Thorsten sich an nichts erinnern? Wer weiß, was in dem Moment in seinem Gehirn los war und was davon jetzt noch übrig ist. Vielleicht ist da nicht einmal mehr eine vage Erinnerung an die drei wohl bedeutendsten Wörter.

Sebastian kann diese Stille nicht ausstehen. „Nach Julia, da–“, setzt er fort und wird unterbrochen von einem schrillen Lachen vom Nachbartisch. Verlegen schaut er zu den Leuten rüber und senkt dann seinen Kopf. Er spricht nicht weiter.

Thorsten seufzt. „Wollen wir eine Runde spazieren gehen?“, fragt er, denn Sebastian steht sein Unwohlsein wie ins Gesicht geschrieben. Sebastian nickt. Thorsten greift nach seiner Tasse und trinkt mit zwei großen Schlucken seinen Kaffee aus. Dann hebt er die Hand und fragt nach der Rechnung. Er holt sein Portemonnaie heraus.

Als er das sieht, lehnt sich Sebastian über den Tisch. „Aber ich hab dich doch eingeladen“, sagt er und greift nach seinem eigenen Portemonnaie in der Hosentasche.

Thorsten reicht der Bedienung einen 20€ Schein. „Stimmt so“, sagt er zu dem Mann, der ihnen ein dankbares Lächeln zuwirft und das leere Geschirr mitnimmt. Dann dreht sich Thorsten zu Sebastian. „Passt schon“, sagt er und steht auf. „Komm“, fügt er kurz, aber bestimmt hinzu. Sebastian greift nach seiner Jacke auf der Stuhllehne und folgt Thorsten nach draußen.

Der frische Wind und die Ruhe ist direkt viel angenehmer. Sie gehen die Straße hinunter und biegen dann in einen kleinen Park ab. Außer ihnen ist dort nur eine junge Familie mit Kind auf einem Laufrad und einem Jogger.

„Ich hab dir also letzte Nacht meine Liebe im Rausch gestanden“, nimmt Thorsten das Gespräch wieder auf.

Sebastian lacht bei der Erinnerung. „Mehrmals.“

Thorsten presst seine Lippen zusammen. „Und du fandest es schön.“

„Dass du unter Drogen standest, nein. Was du gesagt hast, ja.“

„Und du hast die Wörter einfach lange nicht mehr gehört.“

„Das letzte Ich liebe dich kam von Julia. Und zu dem Zeitpunkt hatte sie mich schon betrogen, also zählt das nicht einmal.“

„Das tut mir leid“, sagt Thorsten. „Mein letztes Ich liebe dich ist noch länger her. Es tat mir also auch gut, das mal wieder zu sagen. Das hab ich selbst in meinem vernebelten Zustand gemerkt.“

Sebastian lässt seinen Kopf hängen. Darüber hatte er noch gar nicht nachgedacht. Vielleicht hätte er das alles doch gar nicht ansprechen sollen bei den schmerzhaften Erinnerungen, die das Gespräch bei Thorsten weckt. Aber was gesagt ist, ist gesagt. Vielleicht ist Zeit für einen Themenwechsel.

„Wie geht’s dir, Thorsten?“, fragt Sebastian und dreht seinen Oberkörper in Thorstens Richtung. Dieser trifft seinen Blick.

„Den Umständen entsprechend. Ein bisschen müde. Und dir?“

„Maja hat mir letztens erzählt, dass sie jetzt eine Freundin hat“, sagt Sebastian aus dem Nichts.

Thorsten guckt ihn überrumpelt an. „Okay“, antwortet er, mehr Frage als Antwort.

„Vielleicht hätte sie’s dir lieber selbst erzählt, aber–“ Sebastian zuckt mit den Schultern. Eigentlich kann er seine Aufgeregtheit gut verstecken, aber jetzt redet er deutlich schneller als sonst. Auch seine Hände versteckt er etwas nervös in seinen Hosentaschen. „Sie macht da kein Geheimnis draus, also denke ich, sie hat da nichts gegen. Sie mag dich ja sowieso total gerne.“

Weil Thorsten nichts sagt, wandert Sebastians Blick von seinen Schuhen rüber zu Thorstens Gesicht. Er lächelt. Bei dem Anblick von Thorstens Lächeln wird es Sebastian ganz warm ums Herz. Er muss selbst lächeln.

Thorsten freut sich richtig über diese Neuigkeiten. Kaum vorstellbar, dass das kleine Mädchen, mit dem er vor einer Ewigkeit auf einem Konzert war, nun alt genug ist für eine echte Beziehung. Das ist so erwachsen. In seiner Brust macht sich ein warmes Gefühl breit, das er nur als Stolz bezeichnen kann.

Ein stolzer Vater. Schon sind seine Gedanken in Rekordgeschwindigkeit dabei, zu seiner eigenen Tochter zu springen und zu dem Loch, das sie hinterlassen hat und in das alles reinpassen würde, was sie nie erleben konnte. Was Thorsten nie erleben konnte mit ihr an seiner Seite. Sie hätte bestimmt–

„Thorsten?“ Sebastians Stimme reißt ihn aus seinen Gedanken, und darüber ist er noch nie dankbarer gewesen.

„Entschuldige“, sagt Thorsten und fuchtelt mit einer Hand durch die Luft, so als könnte er die schmerzenden Gedanken an Lilli einfach wegwehen. Er holt tief Luft und versucht sich auf Sebastians Präsenz neben sich zu konzentrieren, darauf, wie ihre Schritte beinahe gleich fallen.

„Alles okay?“, fragt Sebastian.

Thorsten schaut kurz rüber zu ihm und nickt. Das vorsichtige Lächeln auf Sebastians Lippen tut seinem Herzen gut. „Freut mich für Maja, wirklich. Sogar sehr.“

Da beginnt Sebastian zu strahlen. „Ich bin so unglaublich stolz auf sie. Auf Henri natürlich auch.“ In seiner Stimme schwingt ein Unterton von Traurigkeit und Sehnsucht mit, was Thorsten nur zu gut verstehen kann. Seine Augen funkeln ein wenig.

Thorsten streckt seinen Arm aus und klopft Sebastian auf den Rücken. „Du hast tolle Kinder“, sagt er und meinte es noch nie ernster.

„Große Kinder!“, korrigiert Sebastian ihn und lacht. „Waren die nicht gestern noch in der Grundschule, im Kindergarten?“

„Wenn du jetzt sagst, dass du alt wirst, dann–“

„Dann knallst du mich ab?“

„Ich kann nichts garantieren.“

Sebastian schnauft vergnügt. „Na gut, dann sag ich lieber nichts. Ich will mich ja nicht mit einem alten Mann anlegen.“

Die Lederjacke klatscht unter Thorstens flacher Hand. Sebastian lacht laut auf und er dreht sich etwas zur Seite, weg von Thorsten, um einem weiteren Schlag zu entfliehen. Thorstens Augen sind zwar zugekniffen, aber selbst er muss lachen.

„Vorsichtig, Sebastian. Ganz vorsichtig.“

Die nächsten Minuten gehen beide still nebeneinander her, versunken in ihren eigenen Gedanken. Der Sand knirscht unter ihren Schuhen. Eine angenehme Zweisamkeit. Eine Frau joggt an ihnen vorbei, ein Hund läuft ihr direkt hinterher. Die Bäume rascheln in einer Windböe.

Sebastian ist der erste, der die Stille bricht. „Du, Thorsten, darf ich dich mal was fragen?“

„Immer.“

„Kannst du dir je wieder eine Beziehung mit jemandem vorstellen?“ Er spricht etwas leiser als sonst, weil er weiß, wie sensibel dieses Thema sein kann. Aber er stellt die Frage trotzdem.

„Prinzipiell ja“, antwortet Thorsten, was Sebastian tatsächlich ein wenig überrascht.

„Ja?“

Thorsten dreht sich zu ihm um. „Ist die Vorstellung zu absurd für dich?“

Sebastian schüttelt schnell den Kopf. „Nein, auf keinen Fall. Ich finde nur–“ Er seufzt. „Julia hat mir das Herz gebrochen und, naja, ich hab mich seitdem an keine Frau mehr richtig rangetraut. Seitdem hat mich keine Frau interessiert.“

„Also kannst du dir keine Beziehung mehr vorstellen?“

„Das hab ich nicht gesagt.“

„Aber du traust dich nicht mehr an Frauen ran?“ Thorsten schaut ihn etwas verwirrt an.

„Das eine schließt das andere ja nicht aus.“

Thorstens Augenbrauen schnellen in die Höhe und er schaut Sebastian ungläubig an. Wenn er das gerade richtig verstanden hat, dann–

„Bist du schwul?“, fragt er nach kurzem Überlegen.

„Nein“, antwortet Sebastian, ein bisschen zu laut und zu schnell. Er hebt entschuldigend seine Hand. „Also, nicht, dass damit was falsch wäre, aber–“ Er schüttelt den Kopf. „Ich bin nicht schwul.“

„Aber du stehst auf Männer?“

Sebastian dreht seinen Kopf zu Thorsten und ihre Blicke treffen sich für mehr als nur einen flüchtigen Augenblick. Ohne sich abzusprechen bleiben beide Männer stehen. Da bemerkt Sebastian erst, dass ihm das Herz bis zum Hals pocht. „Ja“, sagt er, dieses Mal deutlich leiser.

Thorsten schweigt und starrt ihn nur an.

„Ich steh auf Männer und Frauen“, erklärt Sebastian, damit es keine Missverständnisse gibt. „Ich bin bi.“

Thorsten schweigt immer noch, aber er legt seinen Kopf etwas schief. Dann beginnt er doch tatsächlich zu lächeln. „Wir kennen uns seit 15 Jahren und du erzählst mir das jetzt erst?“

Sebastian runzelt die Stirn. „Ich war glücklich verheiratet, als wir uns kennengelernt haben, Thorsten. Und irgendwie war das seit meiner Hochzeit kein Thema mehr.“

„Kein Thema mehr?“, entgegnet Thorsten und klingt etwas erbost. „Sowas hört doch nicht auf, nur weil–“ Auch seine Stimme ist etwas lauter geworden und er schaut sich kurz um, aber sie sind weit genug von anderen Menschen entfernt, sodass sie niemand verstehen könnte. „Nur weil man eine Frau geheiratet hat, hört man ja nicht auf, bi zu sein.“

„Tut man ja auch nicht. Lebender Beweis“, sagt Sebastian und lässt demonstrativ eine Hand an seinem Oberkörper runterlaufen. Tadaa.

„Aber du hast es mir nie gesagt.“

„Ich wollte da nichts Großes draus machen.“

„Aber das bist doch du, Sebastian. Das ist dein Leben und deine Art zu lieben. Sowas sollte niemand verstecken müssen.“

Sebastian guckt Thorsten etwas verdutzt an. Er hat sich gedacht, dass Thorsten positiv reagiert, aber mit so viel Empathie hatte er gar nicht gerechnet. „Da hast du vollkommen recht.“

„Ich möchte doch den ganzen Sebastian kennen, nicht nur den halben.“

„Tust du jetzt ja auch.“

„Nach einer halben Ewigkeit.“

„Ich bin 45 Jahre alt, Thorsten. Ich bin nicht wie Maja, die im 21. Jahrhundert aufwächst und ihrem Vater über FaceTime einfach so erzählen kann, dass sie verliebt ist und jetzt eine Freundin hat. Ich–“ Sebastian hebt seine Hände und lässt sie einen Moment später wehrlos wieder fallen. „Es war einfacher, das zu ignorieren.“

„Wir haben 2023, heutzutage kann sich doch jeder outen.“

„Ja, eben. Hab ich ja auch gerade gemacht.“ Bei dem letzten Satz werden Sebastians Wangen auf einmal ganz heiß. So viel Adrenalin fließt gerade durch seinen Körper, dass er jetzt erst realisiert, was er eben alles gesagt hat.

Er hat sich gerade geoutet. Vor Thorsten. Thorsten, der ihn jetzt wortlos anstarrt.

Und der seinen Arm ausstreckt.

Und der Sebastian in eine Umarmung zieht.

„Komm mal her“, sagt Thorsten, flüstert es beinahe. Er verschränkt seine Arme auf Sebastians Rücken und drückt ihn ganz doll an sich. So haben sie sich noch nie umarmt, nicht einmal annähernd.

Etwas überrumpelt schlingt auch Sebastian seine Arme um Thorsten. Es ist Balsam für die Seele, Thorstens festen Oberkörper gegen seinen zu spüren. Irgendwie verankert ihn das unglaublich doll im Hier und Jetzt.

Nach ein paar Sekunden lehnt sich Thorsten etwas zurück und räuspert sich. Er lächelt Sebastian an, so aufrichtig wie noch nie. Irgendwie süß. Sebastian guckt nach links und rechts und trifft dann wieder Thorstens Blick.

„Hat schon niemand gesehen,“ versichert Thorsten ihn.

„Und wenn schon.“ Sebastian zuckt mit den Schultern. „Auch Männer, die hetero sind, können sich in der Öffentlichkeit umarmen.“

„Genau. Ist sogar dringend erwünscht.“

Grinsend gehen sie beide weiter und schlendern den sonnigen Weg entlang. Sebastian fällt zum ersten Mal auf, wie laut doch die Vögel in den Bäumen am Wegesrand sind.

„Was verheimlichst du denn noch so vor mir?“, fragt Thorsten schließlich.

Sebastian muss schmunzeln. „Ach, nichts Wichtiges. Mein erster Kuss war mein damaliger bester Freund.“ Gekonnt geht er einen Schritt zur Seite, als Thorsten versucht, ihm auf den Arm zu hauen. „Zu langsam“, kommentiert er trocken.

„Du bist unmöglich, Sebastian.“

„Weil ich damals einen Jungen geküsst habe?“

Thorsten verdreht seine Augen. „Natürlich nicht.“

„Ich wünschte, wir hätten’s“, antwortet Thorsten und spricht Sebastian aus der Seele. „Aber es ist doch nie zu spät, oder? Also, erzähl.“

„Naja, wir waren beide sechzehn. Wir waren in seinem Schlafzimmer und es war–“ Er macht eine kurze Pause. „Warm. Und er hat mich angeguckt und mir dann gesagt, dass er sich in mich verliebt hat. Er hat sich zu mir rüber gebeugt und meine Hand genommen. Dann hat er mich geküsst. Ich erinnere mich noch an seine Stoppeln.“ Sebastian lässt seine Hand über sein Kinn und Oberlippe gleiten. „War ein bisschen pieksiger als gedacht. Und feuchter–“

Thorsten unterbricht ihn. „Okay, so genau wollte ich das gar nicht wissen.“

Ein vergnügtes Lachen prustet aus Sebastian heraus. Beim nächsten Schritt lässt er seinen Körper sachte gegen Thorsten schwenken, so als kleine Wiedergutmachung.

Thorsten hebt einen Zeigefinger. „So hätte ich aber auch reagiert, wenn es ein Mädchen gewesen wäre. Nur damit das klar ist.“

„Kriminalhauptkommissar Thorsten Lannert. Nicht homophob.“

„Sebastian.“

„Hast du etwa noch nie einen Mann geküsst?“ Für einen flüchtigen Augenblick geht Sebastian der Gedanke durch den Kopf, wie verrückt es doch ist, dass er Thorsten diese Frage überhaupt so beiläufig stellen kann und es dann auch noch ernst meint. Und alles, was es dazu brauchte, war ein benebelter Thorsten, der fast nur Blödsinn faselte. Fast. Ohne diese drei Worte wären sie jetzt vielleicht gar nicht hier.

Thorstens Mund verzieht sich zu einem Grinsen. „Doch, habe ich“, sagt er und beschleunigt seine Schritte etwas, so als würde er mit seinem neuen Geheimnis vor Sebastian wegrennen. Dieses Mal ist es also Sebastian, der entrümpelt dreinschaut und laufen muss, um Thorsten einzuholen.

„Erzähl mir mehr“, ruft Sebastian ihm nach und kommt aus dem Grinsen gar nicht mehr heraus. So ein befreiendes Gespräch hatte er schon lange nicht mehr geführt, wenn überhaupt jemals in seinem Leben. So voller Erleichterung, voller Spaß!

„Die Geschichte kriegst du nicht so einfach aus mir heraus.“

Sebastian reißt empört seine Augen auf. „Eben hältst du mir noch einen Vortrag, dass ich keine Geheimnisse vor dir haben muss, und jetzt das? Thorsten!“

Obwohl er kürzere Beine hat, ist Thorsten ganz schön schnell.

Sebastian nimmt wieder die Verfolgung auf. „Ich weiß doch, wo du wohnst, Thorsten!“

2022年ベストトラック

2021年ベストトラックは忙しさにかまけて飛ばしてしまいましたが(ちなみにベストトラックは「おもかげ/milet×Aimer×幾田りら」でした)、2022年ベストトラックは春前になんとかまとまりました。

毎週水曜日と金曜日の新譜リリース日にSpotify公式のニューリリースプレイリストを全曲チェックして、気になるものがあったらプレイリスト候補に追加しておき、4時間半分くらいたまったら曲順を考えつつプレイリストを作成するというのがこれまででしたが、こちらも時間がなく候補のまま年を越す有様。

というわけで、プレイリスト候補に入ってる2022年リリース曲から以下の段階を経てベストトラックを選んでいきました(それぞれプレイリストとして公開します)。

January 2019

Summary: I had just started my final spring semester of college and I was barely hanging on going to my internship, classes, prepping for my last shows for the semester, going to my job, cutting out a very toxic friend out of my life, grappling with the unraveling of coming out not of my own accord to my parents, and so many other things that I didn’t even want to even start thinking about.

At the time I felt so small and scared about everything going on around me because I felt so ill prepared for the future. I had no idea what I should be doing and how I was going to even accomplish any of the things I wanted to do. Heck. I didn’t even know if I was going to even be able to achieve any of it.

It just all seemed so impossible and everyone else seemed to have some kind of plan for the future on what they were going to do next and excited about us all leaving. It felt like no one noticed how upset or sad I was about how our journey was coming to an end and we were all going to have to live out separate lives. Even though, that wasn’t true at all. It was still how I felt at the time and this playlist reflects all of my feelings at the time.
