These Questions are the result of suggestions from the previous iteration.
This category may include suggestions made too late to fall into the correct grouping.
Please add new suggestions below if you have them for future consideration.
*The Broadway Premiere names were lost over a year ago because I didn't realize how big this was until I'd spent several hours on first day telemetry for the very first Time travel poll.

Día 7: Catacomb Saint
No sabía de que se trataba, pero al investigar un poco me topé con esta costumbre antigua y, para ser sincero, quedé maravillado. Fue un gusto darle cada detalle a este dibujo.

*chants in increasing volume* ghost AU ghost AU GHOST AU GHOST AU
#dolphin noises#wips#I love me a good ghost AU 😭💜🎉😁#Timeline-wise I'm thinking maybe Cedric succeeding in his coup and Asbel arriving at the catacombs too late#Asbel passing right by ghost!Richard like a reversal of that iconic richass shot in the opening~#initially only Sophie can see his spirit due to her own enhanced capabilities#and Asbel can see him when they're all 3 holding hands a la Friendship Pact 💙💜💛#but ghost AUs are pretty much inherently tragic since someone's already dead#and if you play this one right you don't even need Lambda. One malevolent spirit is plenty 🙃#Asbel feels guilty for being unable to protect Richard in time but gets a chance to redeem himself this way#by helping Richard with his unfinished business that keeps him from moving on#Initially it's to ensure that his kingdom is not left in Cedric's hands (and maybe get a little revenge)#but Richard's own resentment twists him into wanting to take back EVERYTHING he's lost including things he simply can't get back#Richard's nature turns vampiric as he needs more and more eleth to sustain his continued half existence eventually targeting the valkines#And Asbel who had been so ready to give anything to help Richard realizes his beloved friend is crossing a line. people are getting hurt.#Thus the theme of the story shifts from 'protecting the will to live' to 'learning when to let go'#Poor Asbel having to learn this lesson first. That the best thing he can do for Richard is stop indulging his tainted wishes#and instead grieve together w him over what could have been then move on. It wasnt fair it wasnt kind but neither is what Richard's doing#it's basically the canon story except instead of saving richard and bringing him back it's saving richard and letting him go#it's angsty and bittersweet AF which is how you can tell it's PEAK dolphin AU 😅 themes of grief and loss and loneliness#helping someone who's lost themselves to obsessive love#'cause that's where Richard's anger comes from. the loss hurts so much because he cared so much. he wanted to fix the world then LIVE in it#dammit this is a half-baked idea and im already weeping 😭

“Chiamiamo i carabinieri e li avvisiamo”.
Detto fatto.
“Teste tagliate?” Facciamo noi quasi in coro.
Fino quasi a farsi venire i crampi.

Antis : Zutara shippers mischaracterised Katara by saying that she acts motherly towards Aang.
Tumblr media
Forgive me if I consider it motherly, when two characters have exactly the same gesture as La Pieta (an art of Virgin Mary cradles the body of her son, Jesus).
The writers actually admitted that they were inspired by La Pieta, so I'm not just assuming. And the writers also said, their dynamic like babysitter and a kid she look after
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Out of the 'mischaracterised' thing - because the writers themselves admit that - for some people, such a dynamic doesn't feel romantic, but weird. Very, very weird.
Antis : Katara never has feelings for Zuko. In fact, Katara is like a little sister that Zuko always wanted.
Tumblr media
Oh yeah, a little sister who touches his face and thumb on his lips. Is that a normal thing for siblings to do???
It's also funny to me, because as far as I know Katara never examine someone's wound first when she heal them, she always streams water onto her palm and heal them straight away.
Like what she did to Jet...
Tumblr media
Or to Aang...
Tumblr media
Or even to Zuko in final battle...
Tumblr media
So, what exactly did Katara think of Zuko in the Crystal Catacombs when she touched his scars????
Unless...
Tumblr media
Antis : Zutara is the worst ship ever! Zuko and Katara can never be together. Their elements are opposites and do not mix well.
Yeah, fire and water are opposite, they can't understand each others and work together. Ever!
Tumblr media
And it's not like there's a movie specifically about the elements of fire and water falling in love and find a way to be together, they touch each other and make steam has ever existed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonus :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And they're kissing in the end
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh, I'm sure they just forgot to say 'yet'.
Antis : I don't understand Zutara shippers. Zuko and Katara has no chemistry at all!!
Okay, well, this is the meaning of chemistry in relationship 👇🏽
Tumblr media
For example, a story about a man who dies to save a princess he loves.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile the princess tries her best to save him, regardless of the dangers ahead.
Tumblr media
Despite being badly injured and very weak, the man tries to reach the princess, knowing that she is in danger.
Tumblr media
When there's a chance, the princess grabs the man she loves who dying of his injury. She looks very sad, worried, and afraid of losing him.
Tumblr media
The princess has the ability to heal, usually she uses her magic hair, but this time she heals the man using her tears (which means water). Miraculously, the water healed the man.
Tumblr media
After he recovers, the man slowly opens his eyes, he looks at the princess and smile at her.
Tumblr media
And the princess smile back in happiness.
Tumblr media
This love story only beautiful if there is chemistry between the characters, right? Now, I wonder, which ATLA characters have the same story narrative???

Ever since that assassins creed mf from the Olympics showed up, I now fully embrace that he was HWS France. And with that, I also am convinced that France is a master at parkour and escaping. He can pick locks, hop on roofs, and if he's REALLY desperate, travel via the catacombes.
Hima literally said his hobby was escaping Paris lmao. Imagine not even the French gov can find him. And they really want him to stay in Paris because its logistically convenient for them, but Monsieur Bonnefoy has disappeared once again >:(
Eventually he's hunted down by the cops and has to be dragged back, but not without an obnoxiously difficult game of cat and mouse. And when they finally find him and ask what the fuck he was doing, he's just like "Oh, la la la la, I had to get out of there." While flipping his scarf and swirling his wine glass.

hi hi hi ceil! I hope you're doing well. My new year's resolution is to read more books, and I was just wondering if there were any you would rec? I really enjoy the stuff you right, and wondered where you get the inspiration from
hi hi!!!! im doing great actually, i had a nice day :))
oh i have SO many!! these are just my personal favourite and i read a lot of literary fiction and non-fiction and 'weird' lit, so hopefully something on this list sounds fun to you:
glass, irony, and god by anne carson [poetry - although i would recommend absolutely anything by anne carson]
half-light: collected poems 1965-2016 by frank bidart [poetry - honestly one of the poets you MUST read if you love poetry in my opinion - bidart, carson, dionne brand, louise gluck, paul celan, maggie nelson, adrienne rich, rainer maria rilke, t.s eliot, jan zwicky, kahlil gibran]
rings of saturn by w.g. sebald [literary fiction - unnamed narrator takes a walking tour of suffolk, england, and the book is about the encoded meaning found in everything; i love sebald so so much]
house of leaves by mark danielewski [architectural / weird horror; cult classic; spooky and eerie in the best way; high concept, a bit complicated to follow but worth it]
drive your plow over the bones of the dead by olga tokarczuk [fiction / thriller, a bit - read this last month and this book hooked me oh my god, it was so good]
severance by ling ma [apocalyptic / post-apocalyptic - possibly one of my fave books in this genre]
the overstory by richard powers [environmental fiction - multiple different narratives that sometimes converge, sometimes don't; truly had me weepy at points] (also, if you like environmental books, the golden spruce by john vaillant)
the complete cosmicomics by italo calvino [strange literary fiction, short stories - oh these are so delightfully strange and zippy and weird, they feel like eating starbursts or something!!!]
underland by robert macfarlane [non-fiction - this consumed me for days when i read oh my god. all about underground structures, catacombs, caves and caving, mines, radioactive waste disposal, etc]
the lonely city by olivia laing [non-fiction - a sad book, but still hopeful; she has such insightful commentary on art and queer history too]
the library at mount char by scott hawkins [weird fiction - so cool, SUCH a cool fun book oh my god. very interesting premise and executed to perfection]
some other names i'd recommend: eileen myles, maggie nelson, rebecca solnit, and ursula k. leguin (for your scifi/fantasy needs)

On mythological beasts, water that still springs from an ancient coffin, and an on-going promise
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every year on July 30th, people from Montboló and Arles (Northern Catalonia) do a procession whose main element is a wheel made of bee-wax. The origins of this procession are to thank the saint who freed the towns of the simiots, mythological beasts who once terrorized the area.
Simiots are a creature in Catalan mythology, a kind of magic hairy monkey that is sometimes considered half-wild and half-man. They are wild animals that live on trees in the mountains, and they are the ones who cause the summer sudden storms, and can also cause hailstorms, strong winds, dense mist, and other bad weather that leads to problems for the fields.
The story says that, around the year 1000, the simiots were out of the forests and ran wildly in the Tec valley, terrorizing the villagers from Arles: they attacked humans, took their children to eat them, and caused droughts, storms and hail that destroyed the harvests. Desperate, the abbot from the Arles monastery, who was called Arnulf, went to Rome to find some relics that could protect the town. He asked the Pope which saints could protect them from simiots, but the Pope did not know what these are and could not give an answer. Arnulf went to the catacombs, where many martyr saints were buried. He said a prayer and then saw how two tombs started glowing: the tombs of Saint Abdon and Saint Sennen. Arnulf followed this divine sign and got the Pope's permission to take the relics. To keep them safe during the long trip, he hid the bodies in a metal box, and each metal box inside a wine barrell filled with water.
He arrived by ship to Cap de Creus and made his way up on a mule to Arles. On the way, all the simiots they encountered ran away. When they reached Arles, he opened the barrels and then all the simiots yelled with a horrible sound and ran away.
Arnulf gave water for all the villagers who were there, and everyone who was ill and drank from that water got cured. The relics and the remaining water were placed in an old 4th-century sarcophagus that was in the town. A long time later, the relics were moved elsewhere, but the miraculous water still springs from that sarcophagus.
Tumblr media
The simiots were banished from the area, but in 1465 a shepherd from Montboló (town near Arles) saw two witches invoking the simiots to cause a storm. He quickly went to get the Saint Abdon and Sennen relics and managed to stop the new catastrophe. Ever since then, every year on July 30th, the inhabitants of Montboló offer a 20-meter-long bee-wax candle rolled on itself in the shape of a wheel (rodella). They take it on a procession from Montboló, crossing the forests, arriving to Arles.
That day is a holiday with music and dancing, people buy little rodelles, and there are religious ceremonies. It's still traditional to drink a glass of water from the sarcophagus, in exchange for a few coins for the church. This water is said to be miraculous and medicinal.

PLEASE tell us more about mummy types, i know ice is your fave so feel free to go ham on that but all of them are so interesting to me
drives up in my cozy coupe that has MUMMY MOBILE written in sharpie on the side (ALSO PLEASE EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN LOOKING THESE UP; SOME OF THEM LOOK VERY GNARLY)
ICE/PERMAFROST - If you've followed me for a little while, you probably know more about these than the average fella! These are your Beechey Island Trio, your Ötzi the Iceman. Ice keeps bacteria from turning the body into a smorgabord, thus keeping these people fresh (and fluid-filled) for hundreds to thousands of years. And maybe some day down the line, some nerd finds you and thinks you're beautiful and never shuts up about you.
THE BOG - It's Tumblr. You all know about The Bog. Bog bodies are essentially turned into leather purses by the tannins and the anaerobic qualities of The Bog, sometimes effectively snapshotting their causes of death (usually something violent). Special shoutouts to fan favorites like Tollund Man, Lindow Man/Pete Marsh, Yde Girl, Grauballe Man, and Windeby I. And Hozier, probably.
HOT, DRY DESERT AIR - Think the Atacama Desert, the Mummies of Guanajuato, or your pre-embalming times Egyptians. In fact, it was the natural qualities of desert air that probably tipped the Ancient Egyptians off to the fun and fabulousness of preservation. You dry out to potato chip crispness but lose all the wet bits. Also Anubis is probably repping you.
ARID, COLD MOUNTAIN AIR - Same idea as the desert as far as lack of humidity, but better for your skin. Mountaintop mummies are some of the best preserved in the whole world. La Doncella is a fantastic example, as are the rest of the Children of Llullaillaco or the Cherchen Man and Siberian Ice Maiden. Sometimes this was done on purpose (hi bog bodies), but sometimes people just go up to high altitudes, die, and stay there forever.
HONEY/MELLIFICATION - This one doesn't fit the bill of spontaneous mummification, which is what I study. Honey mummies are made on purpose, allegedly by feeding someone honey until they're dead, and then dunking them in a coffin full of honey for them to steep like tea for the next century or so, then digging them up and making medicine/snacks out of them. Lots of alleged's, but still pretty cool if you're into idk becoming one with the slime.
SALT - Human jerky! Salt does to you what it does to all the other edible meats, of which you're just another brand. Salt sucks all the moisture out and keeps you nice, fresh, and flavorful forever and ever. The Saltmen of Iran are Thee Pinnacle of this type of preservation. Bonus is that you get weirdly sparkly when you're salted like a slug.
SAPONIFICATION - You become soap. Actually, if you want to get technical, you turn into what's called corpse wax (which is a surprisingly badass name for turning into a human candle) or adipocere. Mrs. Ellenbogen of the Mütter Museum is probably the best example of this, but it also happens to, uh, cave divers. Which is another great reason not to go cave diving.
PRISTINE AIR OF A SACRED BUILDING - Catacomb mummies! Incorruptible saints! Sokushinbutsu! If you're stuck in a religious house of worship and it just so happens to have its own little ecosystem (usually pretty dry, probably full of resinous incense), there's a non-zero chance that you'll get preserved very similarly to the mountain mummies. Getting stuck in a crystal casket doesn't hurt either. (Disclaimer: this is semi-anthropogenic for those keeping score at home. Some of these mummies are preserved this way on purpose.)
TAR PITS - Like the bog, but hotter, stickier, and smellier. Go in the tar, have no oxygen causing you to fall apart, turn into another leather bag time capsule. This more often happens to animals like those in the La Brea Tar Pits than people. At least that we know of.
WEIRD, AS OF YET UNKNOWN MEANS - Can we say for sure that there was only one reason why Lady Dai/Xin Zhui's stayed so preserved for so long? What about the other wet mummies? What about ones people find in trees? Or whatever the hell was going on with Elmer McCurdy? Maybe it's not unknown, but it doesn't fit the bill of typical mummies, or there are so many factors at play leading to preservation that we can't just call it by one category.

Back to the NPMD x Monster High AU, a couple more things:
I would like to rescind my Werecat Brenda in favor of Nighthawk Harpy Brenda. Yes, I know I made Kyle a werewolf to parallel Brenda being a werecat but I also have a better offer for Kyle too: Yeti, which is why he still holds a grudge against Max for wrecking his dad’s ski-doo.
I have so many thoughts on Vampire Grace. She was born a normie and is a recently turned vampire (maybe even a vampire hunter that failed on an outing and was turned by her prey). She’s having trouble coping with her religion now that she’s a monster and constantly wears turtlenecks like the one she wears in Perky’s Buds to cover up her bite marks. She tried still wearing her cross necklace as a show of rejecting this new form, trying to embrace the pain of having the cross so close because she thought that loving Jesus even when she’s a form of half-demon would make herself better than other Christians, but it hurt way too badly for her to handle so now she just says she wears it underneath her sweater. Jason was born a vampire and wants to help her through her dysphoria but Grace won’t accept anyone treating her like she’s a vampire (even though she is). She does like the part about eating flesh and drinking blood- it’s what Jesus says to do with himself, so in a way, she’s making everyone she eats a little more Christ-like. That’s her thought process, at least. She also still pretends to be human around her parents and normie best friend Gabe. Gabe may or may not know that she’s a vampire though and wants to seduce her so she can turn him too.
In High School is Killing Me, the lyric is now changed to “Fuck you, biteology.”
Max’s Jekyll form is human (Max), but his Hyde form looks like his ghost (The Jagerman).
Stachie is soooo canon because Richie loves swimming but as a werecat Stacy refuses to get in the water and they feel like their romance is especially forbidden because of it. If Richie didn’t love the water so much, he’d wish he was a werecat too because he also wants to be a pretty little kitty meow meow
Ethan, Lex, and Hannah also went there obviously and Ethan was a ghost á la Jonny Spirit and Lex and Hannah are both spider people. You know tf why lol
Ruth is a lot like Frankie Stein in that she flirts with a lot of people but they Do. Not. Flirt. Back. Rather than solid stripes, her sweater looks more like lightning bolts and the mushroom design is a little creepier than just an Amanita.
A lot of the smoke club are also nighthawk harpies (because they like eating the weed) (including Deb) and so a lot of people assume Brenda is also in the smoke club. She isn’t. Monster high typical speciesism mixed with Hatchetfield High typical bullying regardless of social hierarchy.
The Woodwards are flytraps and that’s why Alice doesn’t smoke- plants don’t do that to other plants. This is often a point of contention between Deb and Alice even though they try to pretend it isn’t an issue
Steph’s secretly embarrassed about her decay so she always makes sure her wraps are FRESH, but the rest of her outfit is always her jagged hand-cut crop tops and ripped jeans. Her decay spread to her scalp and forehead and everyone knows better than to say something about the wraps on her forehead or how she always wears a beanie but Pete accidentally tells her he thinks it makes her look even cooler. Swooning ensues because nobody dares address her flaws, much less say she’s cooler for having them.
Steph secretly wishes Pete had a corporeal form because her love language is physical touch and she’s sad she’ll never be able to hold him. (Kind of like how Cleo is sad she’ll never get to look Deuce in the eyes).
Sophia/Spitfire as a background character fire elemental is a MUST.
The janitor is a crazy man who lives in the catacombs under the school and is possessed by what the student body can only assume is a goat demon and Peter Geist feels weirdly like he knows him.
Rosary as Claire Rosary as Claire Rosary as Claire-
Pete has also died recently as one of The Jagerman’s attacks when he was out of control, and he’s new to the school along with Grace. He’s stuck in this dorky outfit he wore so he wouldn’t get bullied and can never change clothes, but at least he’s impossible to punch unless if another spirit tried to attack him. As opposed to Grace in life, he was very interested in the supernatural (one of his special interests) so he knows quite a bit about monster types but is always hungry to learn more about the new world he found himself un-living in
