These millionaires, billionaires, and conservative boomer politicians would rather suck the life and joy out of people's lives all around the world than see the evils of later stages of capitalism. 40+ hours will continue to be a recipe for physical/mental/psychological/emotional strain and illness. This is going to burn people out, as it always has.
I also find this message in the article above to be dystopic considering the little to zero regulations or protections of people -the constant labour law violations in the Global South because global inequities and inequalities in workers' rights still exist, but in western and European countries like this it's painted a matter of 'choice,' and something to boost the economy (which, in the long term it really won't because capitalism itself is breaking at the seams).
Normalizing working conditions like this because people need money to survive is despicable. Because NO -fuck you and your 6 day work weeks -across all work fields and all around the world -because 48 hour weeks are always unethical and inhumane.

Environment in corporate office
The procedures, structure, conventions, and culture of a company or organisation are all included in the corporate environment. It is the overall environment moulded by the relationships, principles, and objectives of its staff and management. Here's a summary of some important components: A company's common values, beliefs, attitudes, and behaviours are referred to as its culture. It may be affected by things including the company's past, industry standards, and leadership style. Positive company cultures encourage teamwork, creativity, and worker happiness. Organisational structure: This describes how the company's operations are managed and arranged. It outlines the information flow, decision-making procedures, and reporting lines. Typical organisational forms include network, matrix, hierarchical, and flat structures; each has benefits and drawbacks of its own. Processes: These include the protocols, workflows, and and systems that govern how work gets done in the organization. Efficient processes help streamline operations, reduce errors, and improve productivity. Continuous process improvement is often emphasized to adapt to changing market dynamics and customer needs.
Leadership: Effective leadership sets the tone for the corporate environment. Leaders inspire and motivate employees, articulate a compelling vision, and make strategic decisions to drive the company forward. Leadership styles can vary, ranging from autocratic to democratic, with each approach impacting employee morale and engagement differently. Communication: Open and transparent communication is crucial for fostering trust, alignment, and collaboration within the organization. This includes both formal channels such as meetings, emails, and reports, as well as informal interactions like team discussions and feedback sessions. Effective communication helps ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards common goals.
Performance Management: Clear performance expectations and feedback mechanisms are key components of the corporate environment. Performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and rewards, help align individual and organizational objectives, identify areas for improvement, and recognize high performers. Overall, a conducive corporate environment is one where employees feel valued, empowered, and motivated to contribute their best efforts towards achieving the company's goals. Continuous efforts to nurture a positive culture, effective leadership, and supportive practices are essential for long-term success.
The Labour Welfare Fund LWF is essential to promoting the welfare and general well-being of Indian workers in a variety businesses.

you've heard of "quiet quitting," now I'd like to introduce you to the next level, The French Work Ethic:
Do exactly what you're paid for and nothing more
Absolutely refuse to be available to contact when you're off the clock
Never prioritize work over your own health, wellbeing, or family because that would be insane, it's just a job.
Have a little glass of wine
Take as long as you feel like for lunch
Deeply understand that work doesn't matter
Make sure your boss knows they're always your second priority ❤️

Is there a middle ground for Gen Z between a 21-year-old graduate going viral for crying over a 9-5 job and Narayana Murthy's 70-hour work week?
Not to mention that there are countries with 8.5 hour necessary work hours, such as Mexico (41 hours) and Costa Rica (46 hours), while others, such as Japan, Spain, Iceland, and Belgium, continue to struggle with a four-day work week regulation. So, where is the ‘golden middle way’ for Gen Z, particularly in a post-Covid workplace? The work-life balance of Generation Z has been the subject of…

The Problem Statement: For the client compliance team, the biggest issue of non-compliance was due to incorrect formats being used manually by the vendors. In addition, excessive audit costs, time spent, manual intervention and erroneous processes were also among other troublesome concerns, hindering compliance.
Simpliance Solution: The client moved to Simpliance’s revolutionary automated statutory audit platform driven by AI & Machine Learning technology. All manual processes were eliminated along with automation and customisation of registers. The vendors ran their audits on the S.E.A.L Engine and were able to correct all payroll non-compliance proactively ensuring error-free compliances. Vendors were successful in achieving over 90% compliance scores since Simpliance implementation, reducing costs by 50% and exponentially increasing audit speed.

TIL that UK Labour law is so anti Union that according to this Variety article, in general you will have to continue to work on projects under Equity* contract even if you're a SAG-AFTRA member otherwise you can face consequences such as dismissal or even being sued for breach of contract.
I'm sharing this in case there are questions about why this or that actor seems to continue to work during the strike. We don't know their contract and if it's Equity instead of SAG, they're not scabbing. It's not their fault, it's the fault of the studios in the US and the government in the UK.
*Equity is the UK version of SAG-AFTRA

making my peace with how lyra was characterised in the show vs the books because so much of it relies on her age and even dafne keen being only one year older than lyra when filming set her up to portray a different character from the very beginning. it doesn't seem like a huge difference but lyra being a child and not a teenager is of fundamental importance to her path in the books so it's inevitable that she was written more like a teenager in the show (and you can't stop child actors from ageing, you can only adapt the writing and directing to match how they mature). the show wrote lyra's arc in accordance with her maturing to the age of around 16, so they chose to have her grow out of her habit of lying and instead wield the power of truth to further her on her journey. it was a different journey from the books, but it got her to the same place: saving her friend and countless others with the power of storytelling and a silvertongue
