Currently trying to figure out how to make a calculator in LibreOffice that can take the "yes or no" answers of four questions and turn them into values for this horrendous formula I've mustered up:
(B1+G1(D1*C1)/P)+(B2+G2(D2*C2))=F
But I've never used spreadsheet formulas outside of basic adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, etc., so using IF/ELSE statements in a LibreOffice Calc document terrifies me. I barely know any Swift from Apple's Swift Playgrounds, but I feel like I could write a better script in Swift than the monstrosity I'm about to make in LibreCalc.

https://askubuntu.com/a/1133466。 ---- 看看網頁版全文 ⇨ 在LibreOffice Calc直接貼上 / Paste without Import Option Dialog in LibreOffice Calc https://blog.pulipuli.info/2023/04/blog-post_456.html

Shoutout to this one rando internet poster's rando Grandma; I read a post where this person was setting up a computer for their grandmother, explained how it worked, and so on, and then got a call a week later from their indignant gran saying, "Why didn't you tell me about the knitting program?!?!"
Poster says, what knitting program? And she says, it's got lots of little boxes and you can colour them and put things in them. And when they go over to look - it's Excel. She's shrunk the Excel cells and is making knitting patterns in Excel.
Anyway. I now (for the last several years) make all my knitting patterns in Excel*, because if you use conditional formatting then it's extremely powerful. Type 'a' in a cell and it turns a colour; 'b', a different one.
Behold, a simple example.
Tumblr media
Can't show you what I'm working on but it's EnormousTM.
And you can just arrow key up and across, row by row; hit save before closing and it'll even save your place.
Also, you can calculate your knitting maths with it.
Random grandma, if you're out there, I owe you one. Call me. We can swap tips and tricks.
*LibreOffice Calc also works but is a little more annoying to use.

how to leave spotify for good
it takes a bit of time and is less convenient than using spotify. this guide is for people with some computer knowledge and strong anti spotify ideology.
step 1: go to chosic.com and select tools > spotify playlist explorer
step 2: link your playlist or log in to get all of your liked songs. export as CSV
step 3: open the file in a program like excel or libreoffice calc. now you can sort by each column to easily see your frequent artists, albums, etc. not required but its fun
step 4: if you have a low number of songs or want to curate them more, you can manually find the ones you want to download. OR
search "csv to youtube"; for fewer songs you can use a site that comes up, for more songs use a github script (i'll update this when i try some, maybe make a guide if a lot of people want it)
step 5: remember to use ublock origin on firefox browser or newpipe app on android - newpipe allows downloads also. i don;t know any ways for iphone sorry
step 6: prepare yourself for minor inconveniences and missing out on the spotify wrapped craze at the end of the year... use last.fm if you want to track your listening stats
step 7: support artists you like by buying their stuff on bandcamp, buying merch, going to concerts (if affordable for you and not run by Big Concert). even just giving them $5 is more than they would see if you listened to their song over 1600 times on spotify
notes: - you can substitute "youtube" for other music providers like deezer. or other things. wink - you may have to do some editing in excel depending on the script you use if there are too many fields - if chosic stops being free let me know and i'll look for another site or search "spotify playlist/likes to csv" (there might be better tools for public playlists but if you want to export all your likes you'll need a tool like this that you login to)

Polls List
Finally it is done.
Here is a spreadsheet with all the polls on it. Why did I do this?
Tumblr's search function is shit
some questions have been asked many times and this may be an easier way for people to get that info instead of asking again (repeat questions don't bother me but some may genuinely not know they have already been asked)
Spreadsheet autism
I'm thinking about maybe updating this every month or so. You may notice the last entries are missing some info such as number of votes and winning answer, these are because they are still running. Open ended question answer responses were recorded as the total number of reblogs and replies on the post.
Please be aware there may be sensitive topics, sexually explicit questions, talking about violence and rape, and questions surrounding drug use on this spreadsheet (posts are behind "mature" community label, but the questions are in plaintext on the spreadsheet), use your discretion
Link to the spreadsheet (google sheets)
How to make a copy of the spreadsheet to your google account:
Tumblr media
A link to a webpage on how to download the spreadsheet to your computer
Libreoffice calc, a free open source alternative to microsoft excel if you want to run it on your computer and not google
