Mh honestly, my best recomendation is going to a dermatologist to learn your skin type. It was game changing for me, the only thing I don't like is that most dermatologist are associated with really expensive brands and ...well those aren't university student budget friendly. I have rosacea, dry skin and really sensitive skin and the products I use is:

Cleaning balm for when I wear make-up (I have dry and sensitive skin and I don't recommend double cleaning if you have this type of skin. I feel like double cleaning is popular in Korea and it may be because they have quite oiled skin, it's just my appreciation)

Hydrating cleanser by CeraVe (I loved this one, I swear on this one. For me who have dry skin is lovely)

Serums. Vitamin C by Garnier on the morning, this one isn't particularly really good but it does help, it's quiet gentle not like other vitamin C and cheap. Maybe if I had a bigger budget I would change for another brand. Hyaluronic acid at morning and night, the l'oréal revitalift also cheap and decent, maybe the ordinary would be better but ordinary doesn't sell on my country. Once per two weeks more on less I use retinol before going to bed, but once again I have really sensitive skin and I have to be careful. This is the only one I have of ordinary because a friend brought it for me at USA. The one with the lowest %. (I highly recommend having your face slightly wet before a hyaluronic acid serum)

Eyecream from Cerave.

Morning I use Toleriane sensitive by La Roche Posay and this is the most expensive part of all this and sadly my sensitive skin needs it. And at night something heavy because my skin is a desert lol I use the cerave moisturizing cream, big, good and cheap all that's needed.

Suncream always, I personally can't use chemical sunscreen because the alcohol on the hurts my rosacea (like the one from the la Roche Posay or Eucerin that everybody swears on them) but since I am pale, I don't mind the white cast of the minerals one like the ISDIN one. HOWEVER, I've used body suncream when I had been low on budged plenty of times. Repeat after me, 100% better use a sunscreen that makes you look oily than no wearing suncream.

And... That's it, I honestly believe in "less is more" for my hair, for skin, for everything. I can't speak as a professional because I am not, but don't over stress your skin. If you're lucky to have the money to afford more stuff, great but I think that keeping a routine simple and practical is the best.

the elemental witches are finally done with the air edition; Winduri!

Lore and design notes below!

So just like the Harpix quest a witch looking to become a Windury has to obtain a Harpix feather through one of the challenges and present it to the source of Harpix. Unlike fairies however, witches usually work more closely with the elemental companions of each quest (in this case the sylphs). Witches need a gift from their elemental companions to add to their uniform in order to handle the ethereal power bestowed by the elemental quests. Witches becoming Winduri get a Sylph's egg talon. These are the small claws that develop on a sylph's thumb in the egg as a help to crack the egg to get out (like a chicken's egg tooth). They usually fall off soon after hatching but are kept as a memento by sylph families. They lend a drop of Endless Storm magic for the witch to build on. The elemental witch forms still influence the witch’s biology, so here Lucy, who has strong Harpy heritage has very large wings, feathered ears and a feather tail in addition to stronger talons on her feet. Icy is also strongly aligned with the air element biologically and has facial/ear feathers.

The look of the Winduri's uniforms are often similar to whatever the Witch’s already existent uniform is based on, but it’s not a one to one. The wings in this form have small talons on the wings' thumb joints. The uniform also features wrappings on the legs/feet, a sleeveless shirt and the harpix feathers displayed somewhere on the outfit. There are swirling trails of wind attached somewhere near the harpix feathers that will drape around the witch like cloth. The patterns of witch's wings often mimic real birds, fairies in harpix are often less based on reality. in specific, the trix are all based on owls, Icy is based on a Snowy Owl, Stormy on a Great Horned Owl and Darcy on a Barn Owl (becuase even tho i love them barn owls are the creepiest lmao). Lucy is based on a swan because I love to include little ballet references in her designs (swan lake), and Selina is based on a Crow!

so that little tidbit about the devil's nectar is interesting, especially with regards to ruben apparently having it in his mouth in his dream. it definitely seems to paint the picture that the rat grinders have been ingesting it, but why? for what purpose?

everyone seems to be focusing on the modifying memory side effects but i wanna focus on the main thing which is being able to lie to entities you normally wouldn't be able to lie to. specifically, brennan says "you can trick normally untrickable beings". what sort of being would the rat grinders be hoping to trick?

im gonna make a guess and say maybe they were lying at first to the dead god, since a deity seems to be the only major being they have contact with that would possibly have a natural resistance to lying.

working off my assumptions that i laid out here (which again, could be completely wrong lmao) i think the rat grinders were motivated to bring back the dead god after seeing kristin doing it, and maybe, aware of its strong negative influence, tried to get into its good graces by lying to it and saying they were on its side. maybe their plan was to over time get close enough to it that they could then take it down.

of course, lying about being on its side led to them believing they actually WERE on its side, and that led to now with them all seeming to be working in the dead god's favor. maybe lucy opposed this shift in mentality (ruben says she was "noble" and "stuck to her guns") and that was part of the circumstances that led to her death.

it is also called "devil's nectar", so to use it against a fiendish former god seems significant

When he went on and on about what an amazing surprise Lucy was on the battle field I could imaging him finally seeing why Shanks chose to give the hat to her

....look I'm not saying Mihawk doesn't ship them, is the thing.

I do actually think it's interesting that Mihawk's apparent regard for Luffy is at first influenced by the regard of two people he does respect (i.e., Shanks, and then Zoro). Luffy attacks the guy who just trounced the strongest guy on his crew without a sweat and doesn't stop until he's assured Zoro is fine. Then Mihawk even witnesses the second best Zolu moment imo when Zoro swears he'll never lose again for Luffy. Luffy acknowledged him, and Mihawk's response is just "you make a good team."

Mihawk next sees Luffy in Marineford where he basically gives the same speech in canon as I gave him in the fic (though much abbreviated because oda is far less indulgent than I am).

And while he first noticed Luffy because of his relationship to others, I think this is the moment where he actually starts to respect Luffy for his own strengths. It's also an interesting character moment for Mihawk because he's almost always been portrayed up until this moment as the kind of person who does things alone and has no need for others but here he's acknowledging Luffy's greatest strength is his ability to connect with other people. It's something Mihawk himself lacks. Does it remind him of Shanks? Does it mean he's self aware enough to acknowledge his own failing by comparison here? Is this acknowledgement of the strength of human connection the reason he let two feral teenagers stay in his castle for two years? I dunno. You decide.

So Mihawk gains personal respect for Luffy in Marineford, then goes home and finds the aforementioned feral teenagers, and then Zoro asks Mihawk to train him. And like. Mihawk knows exactly why he does this. He even says as much.

Like, canonically, of course Mihawk isn't shipping them, but he has ALL THE PIECES and he knows they love each other. So I'm not saying Mihawk ships it but I'm not not saying that y'know?

Like. He knows Zoro is doing this for Luffy. He knows how important Luffy is to Zoro. He knows that Luffy is a person worth respecting.

Canon vs. AU Stories

So when it comes to fanfic, I have more experience with canon stories, but I enjoy reading and writing both canon and AU depending on the premise. For example, reading a firefighter!Dean story (and my love of Chicago Fire and other procedurals) led me to write Smoke Eater, my first full SPN AU story.

Writing an AU is more challenging in my opinion, because you're doing more extensive worldbuilding and character building than stories in a canon storyverse. Smoke Eater was much more challenging for me to write than Never Say Goodbye, for example, which is a soulmate AU within the canon SPN world.

Second, do you only write fanfic or do you do your own personal writing too? I fully believe you could (and should) write a novel someday if you desired! You're so talented and I'd love to see what you could come up with.

Yes, I've actually been working on a novel for the past couple of years. I've taken a break from it since I've been writing so much fanfic lmao. But it's actually a a fantasy/romance. (Think Bridgerton and Howl's Moving Castle meets GoT, with less violence, lots of drama, and a bit more magic lol.) Dean has held my heart the longest out of these three. He's flawed and has trauma beyond belief, but I'd love to give him the loving, comforting, supportive relationship he always deserved on the show. (And then fix that fucked up ending for sure.)

But! Hi hello welcome to Oh lord this family needs therapy and counselling . ! Honestly I have been going into everything with the idea of her being a single mom w/ them! It;s very much a situation of like.... Parent that works away from home constantly, so the relationship is just unfortunately naturally more strained kinda thing .

With all this i go with like.... The idea that they were very much born in Hoenn and lived there with Lucy until Carmine was approximately 9 or so, and Kieran was 7 [I do like to imagine they're 16 and 14 respectively as of the dlcs]. Work being so remote and stuff plus worrying about their education and all just led to living with their grandparents in Kitakami being the best decision for their development as yknow, People. I like to imagine Lucy visits periodically throughout the year and such to check in :> just takes a bit of coordinating. Also shes absolutely the reason they're able to go to blueberry for highschool via both making sure they Can go there financially and putting a word in to a battle focused school of them being kids of a facility head :p even if realistically Lucy isnt the strongest head by any means lol . it's kinda like if an E4 member put a good word in situation. And we can see with Lacey and Drayton both going there... gestures. I wouldnt be surprised if more children of different league figures go to it or schools LIKE it. But thats besides the point Lucy absolutely like, struggles with her emotions and such. Even from the small bits of dialogue we have from her? Maybe its just my autistic ass reading too much into it LMAO but . gestures .

Carmine might be the easiest to point a finger to as being like her mom but i genuinely think that it;s actually Kieran who ended up the most Like her, yknow it;s incredibly obvious to point a finger at Kieran during indigo disk and how he talks as being her fault a little bit :p anyways thats just me vaguely mumbling abt that. AS FOR. DYNAMICS. Kieran isnt as close to his mom as Carmine is just due to everything with living with their grandparents. Theres also absolutely like.... Very much a gap because he stopped seeing her as much when he was younger, while Carmine was only a year off of being like. Legally start being a pokemon trainer age. And its just Awkward, relation wise, just because of how little she actually sees them through the years, especially when the discussion would slowly shift to more "How are your studies?" "How are you doing in school?" "How is your pokemon training going?" once they start going to blueberry. Which i don't think was ment to come off as uncaring for them and only focusing on training as it did from Lucy's end, but I dont really think she knew what else to ask and all, because she stopped being able to really pick up on their interests as much as they got older. Plus thats just kinda How she talks... With the importance on strength and luck n all that. Then with all this I imagine she like. Probably only called once maybe twice between the dlc plots n all? And once again with just mainly the training questions it was just a sour spot. I wouldn't doubt Kieran would also struggle with not wanting to be in a shadow/the nepo baby accusations /j that I fully think if Drayton knows about he'd tease him and Carmine about. So like. You said Dolly Parton and that’s EXACTLY what I mean!! She has the quintessential East Tennessee voice and I saw so much of her influence in Rachel’s amazing characterization of Lucy Grey!!

Tbh I think there’s a level there that plays on the current day stigma that comes with being Appalachian. Like I don’t want to act like the image of Appalachia as backwards is unfounded (it’s not), but it’s also wielded unfairly. Like is Appalachia underfunded and undereducated? Yeah. But every community has strengths and weaknesses! In fact diversifying those is good!

By having an accent in the Midwest, I indicated to my peers (no joke) that I must be less intelligent. And this wasn’t entirely new, even in Tennessee, being “from the mountains” was seen as a sign that you must be stupid/backwards.

And there was a spectrum of dialect that they considered acceptable. On multiple occasions I had Tennessee teachers teach me not to accent certain words in certain ways (because that would be inappropriate and hick - which is funny because we all sounded extremely Tennessee, but we didn’t ALL sounds so Appalachian)

So moving to the Midwest and having that “acceptable range” immediately moved to zero was jarring. I’d never thought I sounded like Dolly Parton before, but suddenly everybody I met was mentioning her and asking if I was from Tennessee.

It very much puts you on a stage, and there’s this immense pressure to mitigate it just so you can get off stage. I think there are some intentional links there with the “stage” and preforming that Lucy Grey encounters in the capitol!

Will you try to hide how you talk? Not just your sound but your word order and sentence structure? Your blatant colloquialisms?

Dolly is a very interesting comparison because her answer is generally, no. When Dolly does her thing, the colloquialisms are part of it. She won’t hide, she might tweak some things for the stage, but she clearly retains her identity and culture. (Just like Lucy Grey.)

And we get this layered commentary about the double stage with both of them!

There’s the stage they’re put on as outsiders. Moments like “only her pearly white bones” (such a southern thing to say lmao) show this off. Lucy Grey’s world is a stage now, it’s felt that her differences are othering, but still she throws out a colloquialism. Dolly is similar, even “off stage” she’s being judged for her background and is forced to preform. Yet she chooses to retain some the most othering characteristics, just like Lucy Grey.

Then of course, on an actual stage with a guitar and a song, Dolly and Lucy Grey have incredibly similar stage personalities. “Is that for me?” “I stopped drinking when I was 12!” “It’s to clear my pipes!” Lucy has never expressed an interest in alcohol, or even mentioned it prior - but she plays it up for the crowd, and the fact that they know it’s untrue is half the joke. That’s incredibly similar to Dolly, if there’s one thing Dolly Parton will do it’s tell a joke before her set.

So I think your Dolly comparison is super interesting and that there are layers there I’m not even thinking of atm. (I feel like I’m in front of a conspiracy board right now, but idc bc you really got me thinking!!)

I also think this could be related to your thoughts on Lucy Grey as an inversion of Peeta! Like I can’t help but think back to that moment before their first game where he says something like “I wish there was a way to maintain my identity.”

Like choosing whether or not to hide those Appalachian traits is a thing people struggle with to this day! I remember sitting in front of the mirror and practicing not a “non accent” & not jutting out my jaw when I spoke (catch Rachel Zegler doing exactly that - performance of the century)

Even beyond speaking, cultural norms like not trusting cops and insistently sharing food with everyone (also asking for food never being rude), knowing your neighbors personally and being familial with them, (“you think I don’t hear your stomach growling Jessup Diggs?”)

Even choosing to find Jessup immediately and sharing everything with him! (Coryo’s face when he said “are you going to share everything I give you with him?” 😭 Like, yeah. seek help sweetheart)

(There’s also the obvious theme of validity between different lifestyles. Like, I’d rather be uneducated than allergic to sharing. Yeah Lucy is a bit backwards but all the funding and education in the world didn’t teach Coryo not to be a selfish bitch??? So like?? Hmmm. Maybe there are many ways to live?? Anyways!)

When it comes down to it, Lucy Grey will do what she needs to do to survive. But the forefront of her mind is maintaining her identity, maintaining her humanity. Which may or may not be palatable to the Capitol audience, and may or may not immediately other her, etc. Peeta is doing this too - unlike Katniss and Coryo who are in survival mode - Lucy Grey and Peeta are concerned with their identities. They both choose to play it up for the audience, but also remain dedicated to keeping that humanity (as they know it) intact. So it plays super well to have that identity be such a culturally distinct existing one!

Anyways!!! Just some thoughts!

oh wow what a gorgeous ask! i don't know that i have that much to add but this is one of those asks that just must be published because you've said so many beautiful, fascinating things here.

i think the thing that really strikes me in your piece is the way you've hit on so many hidden markers of class in american society and identified so many of the subtle ways in which accents denote a particular class background or education level. (and love your acknowledgement of the ways in which structural inequality is baked into these stereotypes. because, like most inequalities, class is real and not real (wink wink) at the same time. it's an external construction -- it's not in any way intrinsic to humanity -- but it has very real effects that ripple through almost every aspect of our lives. we have to be able to hold both of those truths at the same time in order to unpack and combat the effects. and yet i think you've also framed it so beautifully that it's also important to embrace our differences as unique but beautiful threads that make up the fabric of humanity. lovely. but let me get back to the point.)

i think this discussion of accent and class is so interesting because i think it's something we hear a lot about in british english, but it isn't as often spoken about in the united states, and seeing it all laid out here is really illuminating!! and that, to your point, makes it all the more special that rachel zegler (and the filmmakers) made such a conscious effort to preserve lucy gray's accent in the film -- because all those subtleties that you just pointed out are present in a way that they might not be (or at least, would be harder to parse as a viewer) had they just had everyone speaking in the standard californian/hollywood american accent.

and to your point about class and performance... WOW! YES! i love the way you teased out that connection between lucy gray, dolly, and particular accents as being both markers of performance and authenticity. because there is this sense that your accent would be you at your most "authentic" you -- and thus adopting the accent of those around you is "performative" -- but then when you think about the ways those markers of class are so pervasive, to suggest that "authenticity" is even relevant might come into question. it kind of ties back into the post i made earlier about snow and katniss both understanding the ways in which poverty forces someone to "perform" the role of a wealthier (or more comfortable) individual, and playing an accent up or down is another extension of that. so in that way, it's interesting that lucy gray makes absolutely no effort to do that -- she's performing, but she's NOT performing. she's being authentic and playing a role at the same time. she's both; she's neither. she's alive but she's dead, etc -- she's a mystery.

i loooove the way we're connecting this to dolly too! because for me, when i think of dolly, i think of someone who saw the way the world was perceiving her, and rather than trying to squash that down and become more palatable to the masses, she tapped into all those things she was being mocked for and said: "you think you can make fun of this? i'll do you one better -- i'm in on the joke." and that's kind of the magic of dolly, that she's in on the joke, and she's having fun doing it. you can't help but love her for it; she projects such a confidence in herself and her persona, and it's part of her magic. she KNOWS it's a costume -- and that's kind of the whole point.

and i guess there's a way in which that's kind of the brilliance of lucy gray as well -- that she's in on the joke. she's in on the game. and nobody expects that of her. because the point of the games is to show "true human nature" but lucy gray identifies, from the minute she's called on stage at the reaping, that nothing is authentic about the games at all. because nothing is authentic about LIFE. everything is constructed, everything is performative. it's about realizing and acknowledging that, and breaking down the assumption that there is any "one true human nature" -- because there isn't. we're just here for a good time. we're here to make art, to make friends, and then maybe at the end of it all, we can say that we sure did put on a good show. for ourselves and for our communities.

maybe we wrote one great song -- and maybe that one great song will matter, someday, to someone. maybe it will be our song that changes the world <3 and that's why we keep trying.

Elementary fandom vs other fandoms

A while ago I posted about Elementary after I watched a couple of episodes to say I didn't like it. I was just fresh out of watching the four seasons of the BBC Sherlock and it just didn't feel right, I didn't like it at all.

Finally, because I was too lazy to look for another show to watch, I kept watching and now, I'm at season 7 😅 Did my mind fundamentally change? Honestly, no. BBC Sherlock will always be superior to me, I don't care it's trendy to hate it now. I do like Elementary now, though. Sherlock and Joan (well especially Joan) have grown on me. I still think Elementary lacks originality, I find the structure of the episodes too rigid, there are way too many episodes, things in the global story I really don't like. The copaganda for example, urgh... There's a lot of screen time dedicated to the cops and how good and honest and united they are. There are some bad apples but we're really supposed to believe that they're *rare*.... And I love Marcus Bell and Captain Gregson but they're so smart you even wonder why they need Sherlock in the first place 😂 But there are things I really love too: Joan being more than a sidekick to Sherlock is one of them. She has agency, he trains her, respects her.... I must say, it's pleasant to see. Also I love seeing Sherlock being a mentor. That's what he should be, really...

Another thing this show did for me was to convince me to read the ACD canon books. I read a couple of them when I was a teen but I was more a Hector Poirot girlie - EDIT: damn autocorrect! his name's Hercule of course). I know for a fact that Elementary Sherlock is closer to the book that BBC Sherlock, and the show makes multiple references to the ACD canon but I'm unable to identify most of them, which probably influences my reaction to the show. I need to read the books and watch the show again :)

So, it's a fine detective show, a feel good show as well because the morals is always good, characters given a second chance when they mess up, bad guys punished as they should.... Johnny Lee Miller does a fine job at showing the character's complex personality, and his partnership with Lucy Liu is flawless :) They're just adorable together. They totally remind me of Mulder and Scully, but without the unbearable sexual tension, which is why I spent 6 seasons 1/2 being fine with the fact that they wouldn't end up together as a couple.

I wish I had known the fandom when the show was broadcasting, because I haven't heard of any fit of rage when Joan and Sherlock didn't become canon?? And yet lmao, at least 70% of their interactions is romance-coded. Like, if JohnLock shippers think they were baited, Sherlock and Joan shippers were baited much, much more. Seriously, there's even a declaration of LOVE. When Sherlock has to run away to London, Joan follows him there!! They're completely co-dependant, all their attempt to have romantic relationships with other people fail... At some point Joan needs to go her own way and Sherlock respect that.

They take care of each other, all the time. If one is in danger, the other becomes feral. Sherlock especially would do everything to protect Joan from getting harm, and surely so would she. There are so many moments that could be confused with jealousy/possessiveness, so many sweet speeches that probably made the shippers think, "no way this is platonic!" .

Not me, though, because I believe in platonic love, always did, and that's what Sherlock's story was always about: a strong, unbreakable bond between two people who love each other but don't need to have sex to feel or express it. I say they remind me of Mulder and Scully because in both cases, it didn't have to become a romance. I shipped Mulder and Scully, yes, but for years I was quite certain that they woud never become romantic and I was fine with that. What they had was already beautiful.

And frankly, Joan and Sherlock's friendship higlights everything that's wrong with Sherlock and John's in the BBC show. It's a balanced relationship! they didn't have to become a romance because they're a perfect friendship, but if they did it would be ok, because it would not be toxic. Joan never beat Sherlock up, for a start. She never slaps him, they never insult each other. Sherlock is sometimes a prick to her but he always comes around because he respects her a lot. There's nothing in their interactions that makes me think, "wow, if they were a couple that would be so fucked up!", while, sorry but I had this thought about John and Sherlock a dozen of times, especially during season 4 but even before that.

So if I'm not wrong and shippers were cool with the ending, well... kudos guys.

ugh but literally. i need to do a rewatch because fallout is definitely one of those "watch once to get your brain blasted, watch a second time to catch all the little hints you missed the first time around" kind of shows, and also i just. NEED to watch this again with the full knowledge that cooper's been hunting down his family this whole time. yeah we knew cooper was a dad from the beginning but for us, at first, the logical assumption is that his wife and daughter must be long gone by now! it's been 219 years! it's not until the last episode or two that we start realizing that a lot of people from Before are still kicking around, and that cooper KNOWS that, and that the one thing keeping him going for longer than anyone else is the fact that he wants to see his wife and daughter again. the angst potential of this has me foaming at the mouth, by the way, and that's without even considering lucy yet

like, what's his plan? find janey and barb and... pick up where they left off? maybe two centuries of nuclear fallout will patch up his relationship with his ex-wife? how does he even know they weren't both unfrozen and lived their whole lives without him and died already? (i'll argue that he has not even considered that possibility, and will not, because that'll break him.) and say he does find them, and they're alive. maybe they haven't even been unfrozen yet and he can be the one to wake them up. ideal scenario, right? but will they even recognize him anymore? not just by his physical appearance, either! he is not the same person he was before the bombs fell, not by a longshot! janey's dad wasn't a ruthless mercenary bounty hunter who does what he has to do to survive and makes jerky out of human meat and sells random women to organ harvesters to get drugs! he was a guy who loved his dog and loved his family and who was so morally upright that he didn't even want to fake shoot a guy in a movie, because he believes that's not who his character is. and don't even get me STARTED on the fact that The Ghoul is a character to begin with, it's an act, because he's an actor who fell into this role because i guess it was easiest to survive that way, which means that at heart The Ghoul is also not someone who should be shooting guys. the kindheartedness is there under about 219 years of irradiated, decaying skin. but it's there

and then we get lucy, who's very deliberately written as his echo, a kindhearted morally upright person who doesn't want to let the wasteland change her, and i'll bet MONEY that as the series progresses cooper's gonna have to watch as it really doesn't change her. sure, she'll bite a guy's finger off in self defense, and yeah, she'll mercy kill a ghoul that's way past saving. but through it all she's going to try so hard to do the right thing, every single time, and i'm TELLING you, it's not so much that cooper's gonna get dragged back kicking and screaming into being a good person again, but it's more like he's gonna just start being better. it'll be kickstarted by lucy's influence and the fact that he cannot suppress the dad instincts to save his life, but the reason it'll really stick is because that's his natural setting! whether he wants to admit it or not!

anyway. uh. i ranted about this more than i meant to LOL but please always feel free to shout at me about grumpy morally gray old men allowing fatherhood to gently tug them closer and closer to the neutral good square on a dnd alignment chart. gets me every time

i sometimes fall down this spiral of how nolan and lucy were meant to be the main ship and i'm just like huh?? because no matter how i try to work it in my brain, the math doesn't math. like in theory, i guess kind of because he's the main lead and her character was written to be the main love interest but in never quite landed? like i remember in that first episode when it was revealed it was lucy, i was shook but not in the good way - literal jumpscare. it's also funny to think of how that storyline was clearly leading to them breaking up and then finding their way back to each other but instead it fizzled out completely. out of all the love interests nolan has had, lucy should definitely never have been one of them, imo. they're really better off as friends and someone the other can unconditionally rely on. however, the aftermath of it is interesting especially thinking back to jackson's point about lucy never having been in a serious relationship and how she ended up dating someone twice her age who had just gotten divorced. it really goes to show her character growth through the seasons because i always think about how she said she joined on a whim like i think that that says a lot about her mindset in that time period and how it influenced why she got invovled with nolan in the first place. what i really love though which was unintentional given how chenford was not meant to be a ship, is the stark difference between the two ships should i even call the first a ship? lmao. there are so many parallels that exist there that it's kind of cool to see like how talia warned her about dating a cop would 'brand' her but nyla reminded her of how much everyone at mid-wildshire respects her which wasn't exactly correlated to her dating tim but it seem to resolve that potential conflict because it was established that lucy has made a name for herself; lucy saying they couldn't go out for breakfast when nolan brought it up because someone might see them to just about poking fun at tim for getting startled during their first date when he thought someone would see them; lucy's belief of what was the most important relationship she'd ever been in to the actual most important relationship in her life.
