So here are a few queer books you should consider reading after watching The Bear!
🧁 Be sweet! Comment a "YES CHEF" if you love this list!
🔪 Bloom - Kevin Panetta & Savanna Ganucheau 🔪 Chef's Kiss - TJ Alexander

Note
Lee Winters, Kris Bryant and Melissa Tereze are just a few lesbian writers that write rich/dominant older woman stuff (I personally don’t enjoy their stuff as it’s very basic, bland writing and with the last author straight up smut with little plot which I need to get invested) but if you want adult normie lesbian writing that isn’t the usual soft queer lesbian shit this is it. For slightly better lesbian romance in color, there’s Meka James’ Being Hospitable series as well as Mangos and Mistletoe by Adriana Herrera who writes a whole bunch of sweet but not watered down lesbian stuff. When I first came out i was reading anything lesbian and these aren’t winning any major book awards lol but they’re all strictly about female characters and exactly what they say on the tin plot wise.
I'll check out the rest! BEING HOSPITABLE IS THE SHIT! It is so fucking sexy, I've read it a million times, many times I just skipped to the sex scenes because I know the plot. Mangos and Mistletoe is very cute because I relate to it a lot. The rest I will have to google. I don't need it to be dom/bsdm stuff, because more than pissed off at the abuse of women, I just cringe at Bdsm practices and terminology. Good sex isn't totally rehearsed joyless and painful. But I love an older woman, I love a bit of toxic intensity, fictional cheating (real cheating makes me want to kill), love is my drug type of MESS and DRAMA.

Do you know of books where the protagonist and deuteragonist are rivals and have known each other mostly their whole life and they become lovers when they reach their adulthood (not necessarily adulthood, any other age is fine too)
Sorta like childhood friends who are also rivals and become lovers

The Queer Books I Want to Read From @themargherita-s’ List:
Mangos and Mistletoe by Adriana Herrera
The Orchid & The Lion by Gabriel Hargrave
Angels Before Man by Rafael Nicolás
Let’s Bake a Deal by J. D. Cadmon
Do You Ship Us? by Claire Rosalind
They Call Him Lucius by L. B. Shimaira
A Veil of Gods and Kings by Nicole Bailey
Shake Things Up by Skye Kilaen
Always Be Your Baby by illustraice
I’m wary of The Orchid & The Lion because it’s getting bad reviews from sex workers, and the main character is supposed to be a sex worker. I’m honestly just curious at this point.
Whumpers, They Call Him Lucius looks like a whumper’s dream come true!

Merry [almost] Christmas!! This is my absolute favorite time of year, despite now living in Los Angeles and not getting the experience the best part of the season (aka chunky sweaters and snow), so of course I have been reading plenty of holiday romances to try and make up for that. It may be sunny outside my window, but in my heart and on the page, it’s a winter wonderland, baybee! Read the full reviews in the link above!
In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren. The supernatural element? A time loop. The setting? A cabin where heroine Maelyn Jones, her family, and their close-knit group of family friends gather every year for Christmas. The situation? After hooking up with the wrong family friend (Theo) despite her long-standing crush on Andrew (his brother) and discovering that the beloved Christmas cabin is being sold after this season, she’s given a surprise second chance when, upon driving away after the holiday, time resets, and she’s back at the beginning of the trip.
Rating: 5/5
How hot? 🔥🔥🔥
Loving the Mountain Man by Adriana Anders. After a near-death experience followed by a daring rescue, our lovebirds Christa (a city girl marketing professional) and Micah (a disabled vet living off the grid) are stuck in Micah’s tiny mountain cabin until a massive Christmas storm clears enough for Christa to make it back into town. There’s immediate attraction, because she’s adorable and he’s a ripped survivalist, but both are hesitant to act on it.
Rating: 4.5/5
How hot? 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Mangos and Mistletoe by Adriana Herrera. When two queer Dominican bakers with very different relationships to kitchen skills and their culture end up paired off during a holiday televised baking competition in Edinburgh, they must learn to find common ground in spite of seemingly insurmountable odds. It doesn’t help that there’s an instant attraction neither of them is ready for or hopeful about the future of.

Hello, sorry to bother you here I'm just wondering... I was looking at your website, specifically the "Can, UK, and Aus-Based Fiction by Province/County/State" section and is there really no Scotland based stories?
Ooh, that's actually an error in the title of the page - it should be (and now is) "Can, Eng, and Aus-Based." I was getting a bunch of Scotland requests so I changed the Setting by Country page to include it and updated that page title to Eng, but forgot to change this one.
Anyway, for ease of access if you're looking for Scotland-based stories, here you go:
Summer at the Scottish Castle by Rachel Bowdler - P
Out of the Blue by Sophie Cameron (YA)
Last Bus to Everland by Sophie Cameron (YA)
Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins (YA)
Mangos and Mistletoe by Adriana Herrera (Amz)
*All the Stars in the Daylight Sky by Maya MacGregor (YA)

Holiday Romance Books | Top Ten Tuesdays
My TTT post for the week is up and today we're talking holiday romances!
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. This week’s topic is “holiday freebie” so here are 10 holiday romances, many of which are on my TBR for this month! Mangos and Mistletoe by Adriana Herrera Wrapped Up…

“Looking for loaves, loves, and laughter? Do I have the books for you! Culinary romances feed the stomach and soul with their delicious mix of hot food and even hotter relationships. You come to them to read about the trials and tribulations of the restaurant industry. From opening bakeries and restaurants to maintaining them, making money and food is objectively hard. Add in the complications of celebrity chefs, reality baking competitions, and other famous employees and you have a blend of messy but delectable romances. After all, food is the gateway to the soul.
Now, culinary romances are not a new invention. I have, however, noticed an uptick in the number of culinary romances published, and I am not alone. Bettina Makalintal’s Eater article even noted, “Move over, bodice rippers. It’s all about apron tuggers now.” I cannot argue with her point that there are more and more culinary romances hitting the shelves, and many of them are queer or racially diverse.
Culinary romances give authors the ability to showcase food culture and the ways food is sold to the public. From celebrity chefs, to cooking contestants, to chefs that run businesses, part of a character’s success relies on the way they market themselves and their food to their intended customers or audience. Then throw cultural identities and work-love life balance into the mix and you have yourself a compelling romance. Given the size of the sub-genre, I only included a selection that are sure to leave you hungry for more.”

I've finished my first Christmas book of the season! Mangos and Mistletoe by Adriana Herrera was a funny and light read and as the main characters were in a cooking competition, it made me crave seasonal deserts all the way to the end!
It was so cool to see Latinas celebrating their culture (and making amends with it) far away from home. It was cute and had all the tropes and cute moments of a Christmas romance. Although there's a lot of sexual content I was not aware of. Check the warnings, guys 🤣
Thanks again for the rec @jorammiireads 🖤
Happy reading and read diverse Christmas stories 🤶🏽
