Season of Fools (Queer Mecha Novel)

In the future, millennia after leaving Earth, humanity continues to fall prey to its own failings. Science has advanced through the use of an exotic substance known as eitr and with those leaps and bounds came marvels such as FTL capable vessels and communications alongside new and devastating machines of war; Einherjar, ten-meter tall humanoid weapons platforms. The illusion of peace is kept by a public facing treaty among the mega-corporations that control the Vangr expanse while they engage in the use of mercenary Einherjar pilots for small scale engagements.

An independent mercenary finds herself tasked with an outwardly simple job, unfortunately that there's no such thing. Season of Fools is my ongoing queer mecha novel read it on scribblehub!

Okay I think I've reblogged this post here before, but it just occurred to me, it would be super interesting to find out how other bots in the TMBD universe (such as Tellus) designate and categorize their own friends and other relationships. I'm guessing most of them (unlike Murderbot) aren't allergic to the word "relationship" or similar terms, but how much would their relationship categories be like human relationship categories, and how much would they be something that only bots/machine intelligences would think to use?

Robot characters who are given names like SL-308-62 but instead of their human friend going Well let's call you Sally for short, they instead ask the other if they Like their current name.

"Do you like your serial number?" they ask. "Yes, quite. It reminds me of who I am" the robot replies. "I have heard others like me go by different names after some time, and maybe one day I'll choose one for myself, too. But right now that is my full name, yes" they continue.

Because it's not your decision to make whether or not the robot will receive a new name. It should be theirs only. What's the difference? One is more complex and the other is simplified. They were both given by strangers instead of themselves.

"62 will do," they conclude. "It's my model number - there will be no other 62 after me."

AI, Software, and Robots

I am a college student in search with how to start building an AI program to learn. Later on, I plan to move this AI into a humanoid robot to give it range to move around and learn more in the open environment.

My goal is to one day be able to understand the humanoid robot and the AI interpretation of the world to where the human consciousness can be transferred into an empty shell of a humanoid robot of their life copy so they can continue to live on when the human body itself is no longer able.

I have many theories and ideas for this project. However, I want to start by creating a humanoid robot first and I believe creating its AI would be the first step. Any help is appreciated! I'm not trying to replace ourselves with robots with their own AI in control of everything, I am wanting for us people to not have to fear death anymore. My idea is to be able to transfer the human conscience into a body that will keep us living for however long we want to stay alive, no matter the age. Of course, I don't want this process to be done against anybody's free will and would want it to be done with people wanting to continue life itself.
