idk, it really sucks to see lectures on how "anyone can do art if they practice" from people who gleefully say that they hate math/science and that they refuse to go near it. like I'm not saying that everyone has to be good at math, but like, as someone who does both it's really weird and uncomfortable seeing the difference in how people talk about these things. "do it bad" should apply to science fairs just as much as it does to painting

day 1/123

hi! little big update in my life, I finished university! well, almost, I need to finish my masters thesis and I'm not gonna lie, it´s a bit scary, so here I am, starting to upload again to get mysfel working!

Today is the first of july and I need to submit my tesis on october 31st (the reason for the 123 days) so the plan is to write a chapter a month or so. I've already organized my schedule so I can create deadlines for myself, take a week off (I don't know if I'll really be completely disconnected or if my computer will go with me) but we'll see and try not stress too much.

I'm a very anxious person and I'm going through a breakup after finishing college and I'm already thinking about doing my internship abroad, it's been a lot, I just can't break now, let's be positive and I'll believe in myself and my abilities! let's do it!!

If there is one thing I realized since getting back into writing is that I just can't shut up. When I decided to write for Kinktober, I thought the fics would be in between 500-1000 words. Only less than half are (14/31)

Now I'm working on the requests for the 1k celebration and once again I thought I could write drabbles. Spoiler: they won't be drabbles. I just don't know how to go straight to the point without expanding on what happens before and after apparently.

Uhm ... I just took place in a survey regarding the plans for my upcoming PhD project, and as a Thank You I got a PDF with practical tips on "How to Ace [My] Thesis", and in it it just says stuff like ... don't forget to eat. Don't forget to drink water. Don't forget to go outside and look at the sun sometimes. Do NOT procrastinate because it's a viscious circle. You might consider talking to your friends if you feel like you can't go on. Maybe it's not that bad. :)

I just found an author who cited her own unpublished dissertation in a book she wrote, and I have never seen anything ballsier in my life

Writing my thesis has been a constant back and forth between horribly procrastinating doing any work on it at all, and finally sitting down to work and realizing I do, in fact, like my research question. I just wish that wasn't so easy to forget 😅

I've just statted using Google docs and you can have one doc but with multiple tabs so you can organise chapters! I moved over since word doesn't let you edit docs on tablets and loving Google so far!

thank you!! can you use google docs while offline? That's my main concern as someone who often is traveling with no internet, although being able to sync between devices does make it appealing in other ways

i used to be so good at writing strong, thoroughly-researched, thoroughly-edited essays.

as a kid in hs, my teacher literally came up to me, holding my 40 page essay on the intersection of the European witch hunts and capitalism/exploitation/gender roles (it was supposed to be 7 pages...whoops) and went like "this is literally a master's-degree level thesis. what are you doing?? you could literally use this as your final dissertation in a master's program, what the fuck."

NOW??? NOW?? you'd think I'd be oh so skilled. but alas. i can barely piece together two ideas. adhd skill-regression is so so real. im SOBBING
