Do you think that Shere Khan and Mowgli's enemy relationship was somehow inspired by the Hate Relationship between Poseidon and Odysseus? I heard that Poseidon was an Angry God of the Seas much like how Shere Khan was the Terrifying Tiger who hated Humans.

Andy Serkis (Director), Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (2018)

while everyone is talking about how horrible and lifeless the new disney pinocchio remake is and while we are waiting for the guillermo del toro version that is no doubt going to be sooo much better and actually capture the story in a unique and new way, I'd like to remind everyone that you can absolutely watch andy serkis's mowgli-legend of the jungle on netfix any time you want!

this is the second time disney has suddenly released a remake of an old classic after it was announced that another director was taking a shot at the original source material (mowgli was actually not released in theatres because of the disney version that had a bigger budget and was released earlier).

in pinocchio's case, at least I had heared from the guillermo del toro version first and was surprised when disney suddenly released their own version ahead of it.

so I am telling you now that the same thing happened to the jungle book! for andy serkis it was a passion project and he got absolutely sidelined by the disney remake. and before you tell me that you liked that one (yes, I too liked it to a degree) that is probably because they brought in enough things from the source material to make it feel fresh and unique.

but I absolutely implore you to watch the andy serkis version because this is as closely as we will probably ever get to an actual adaptation of the actual book.

as someone who loves the source material, this movie delighted me! it filled my heart with so much joy that you cannot even imagine!

kaa as the all seeing, slightly threatening but mostly benevolent presence and mowglis friend! (but also fucking terrifying for everyone else)

baloo as the teacher and drill seargent for the wolves. now, this is a bear you do not want to mess with!

and mowgli himself actually looks like a child that could have been raised in the jungle! yeah, I know the animals look kind of funky but I honestly love the style more and more the more I look at it. and every time bagheera calls mowgli 'little brother' my heart grows three sizes!

so, please stop watching soulles disney remakes and start watching the passion projects based on the original source material disney got inspired from.

watch mowgli and later watch the guilermo del toro pinocchio. I am sure they have way more to offer than the soulless, rehashing cash grabs that disney is making right now.

FINALLY saw Netflix's Mowgli The LEgend of the Jungle

Soooooooo you know how there are those movies where ya put them off and then forget about them.....Yeah this is one of those movies for me.I was so excited when this came out ,forgot to watch it for FIVE years.Now we are canceling our Netflix subscription so I realized "Oh damn I better watch this ".So yeah I finally watched Andy Serkis's adaptation of the Mowgli stories of the Jungle Book and it was good .....I'm not going to do a full review cause....I dont have the energy

Miscellainious thoughts

1.Making the animal characters look like the actors is interesting in concept,but I dont think it works especially with how the actors are really trying to not sound like themselves

2.Not fond of how Bagheera was written though Christain Bale is decent

3.Benedtict Cumberbatch is a good Shere Khan ,but nowhere near my favorite just because he felt like he was missing something in the writing

4.Andy Serkis no surprise is PERFECT as grumpy Baloo

5.Rohan Chand gave the film a good center and does a good job playing Mowgli

6.Mowgli has an albino wolf friend.....And at the time Serkis talked about how dark this film was.....The fate of this wolf cub is.....Holy shit

7.Matthew Rhyse is good as the hunter character but other then one thing,I dont think he is as villainous as the film thinks he is .....Or maybe I should watch more of the Owl House

8.I think the effects are really good

9.Sooooo this is my favorite live action Jungle Book film ,but only my third favorite adaptaion overall (Behind ChuckJones Mowglis brothers and Disneys classic The Jungle Book .I still need to see the anime and the soviet animated film )

10.I really wanna see the other films Andy Serkis has directed now
