Inspired by this prompt:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You remember it as if it was yesterday. The night was cold and eerily quiet when you sprinted through the dark streets, your body buzzing with the vibrations of cursed energy.
The reports had come in just an hour ago: a powerful curse had manifested, and it wasn’t just any ordinary curse. The whispers and especially Gojo spoke of something ancient, something nearly forgotten. Something that had slumbered within the shadows of legends until now.
“Guess what, (y/n)? Megumi found something that might interest you”, Gojo jeered at you through the phone when you already felt it.
Ryomen Sukuna.
You had heard his name your entire life - a dark deity, a figure so terrible that entire villages had been wiped out by his bare hands centuries ago.
Since you were a child, you've been obsessed with him, the so-called "King of Curses." Not because you were drawn to the death and chaos he brought, but because of the mystery he posed. The idea that something so cruel, so powerful, could exist outside the boundaries of human comprehension. As a sorcerer, you committed yourself to understanding curses, to studying their origins, motivations, powers. And there was no greater paradox than Sukuna himself.
But now, he wasn't only a paradox anymore. Now he had returned. They had found one of his fingers. Apparently, someone had consumed it.
“I’m in the middle of souvenir shopping and guessed you wouldn’t mind stepping in and helping little Megumi out.”
"Normally I'd scold you but today...thank you, idiot."
Yuji Itadori, the boy who had swallowed Sukuna’s cursed finger, who brought Sukuna back into the world after centuries of slumber, stood right in your sight along with Megumi Fushiguro. But you couldn’t let yourself worry about the boys; your focus was on the curse now staring straight back at you.
Your fingers tightened on the hilt of your sword, the cursed energy crackling around you like lightning in the dark night. You had prepared your entire life for this moment. The countless hours of sickening training, the sleepless nights spent poring over ancient texts and scrolls, and the battles fought against nameless curses. All of it had led you here, to your first confrontation with the King of Curses.
As you reached the completely destroyed school building where the cursed energy was originating from, you could already feel it. The overwhelming, tyrannical weight of Sukuna’s presence. It was unlike anything you’ve ever felt before, so thick it felt as though it was suffocating you.
You pressed on, despite the nausea building in your chest. There was no time to second-guess yourself. You moved swiftly through the corridors of the building, your footsteps echoing in the empty halls. The cursed energy grew heavier with every step, your breathing becoming uneven when the spiteful aura grew stronger. And then, at the far end of the hallway on top of a roof, you saw him.
At first glance, it was a boy, a teenager no older than Megumi. His body was rigid, standing in the middle of that roof, shoulders squared as though fighting an internal battle. But the look on his face, the wicked smile stretched across his lips, told you otherwise. The way his dark eyes gleamed with wicked amusement confirmed what you had feared.
This wasn’t Itadori anymore.
This was Sukuna.
“Interesting...” Sukuna’s voice rumbled from the boy’s throat as his gaze locked onto yours.
His smile widened, predatory and cruel.
“What do we have here? Another little sorcerer, so eager to die?”
You held your ground, your body tense but steady. This was no ordinary curse you were facing. Every instinct screamed at you to flee, but you couldn’t, you wouldn’t, allow fear to take control. Your entire life had been building up to this.
“You’re not getting out of here,” you said, your voice firm.
“Not while I’m here.”
Sukuna chuckled, the sound low and dangerous. His eyes narrowed, taking you in.
“Brave words, but foolish. Do you really think you can handle me, girl?”
You didn’t respond with words, Instead, you shoved Megumi behind you and let your cursed energy flare to life around you, the air crackling with power. You moved swiftly, launching yourself at him, your blade drawn and poised for the strike.
But Sukuna was fast — faster than you had anticipated. With barely a flicker of movement, he dodged your attack, his grin never faltering. He countered with a swift punch, sending you flying across the air and crashing into the opposite wall. Pain exploded in your chest, and you gasped for breath.
“Is that all?”, Sukuna taunted, his voice filled with mockery as he stalked toward you.
“I expected more from someone who’s been chasing me.”
You coughed, blood trickling from the corner of your mouth, but you forced yourself to your feet. Your body ached from the impact, but the adrenaline was stronger. You had trained for this. You wouldn’t go down so easily.
As Sukuna advanced, you focused your cursed energy into a powerful barrier, your eyes blazing with determination. You wouldn’t let him win. Not today.
“Let the boy go,” you demanded, your voice sharper now.
“I’m your opponent now.”
Sukuna’s eyes gleamed at the challenge.
“Bold. But you should know better than to give me orders.”
The battle was swift and brutal. Sukuna’s strikes were relentless, his movements impossibly fast and deadly. You could barely keep up, each of his blows a near-fatal attack. But through it all, you fought with everything you had, refusing to back down.
You’ve studied Sukuna your entire life. You knew his techniques, his fighting style, the cruel unpredictability of his power. But even with all that knowledge, facing him in person was something entirely different. His cursed energy was overwhelming, suffocating, a malevolent force that pressed against your very soul.
And yet, you stood your ground.
As the fight wore on, something shifted in the way Sukuna looked at you. What had started as amusement, as mockery, slowly turned into something else. Curiosity. Interest. Even a hint of admiration.
“You’re not like the others,” he jeered at one point, dodging one of your attacks effortlessly.
His eyes flickered with something dangerous, something… intrigued.
“You’re still standing. Most would have died by now.”
You spat blood onto the ground, your body screaming in agony but your will unbroken.
“I’m not most people.”
Sukuna chuckled, the sound dark and throaty.
“No. You’re not.”
That was how it began. The first encounter — your first dance with death and the King of Curses. It didn’t end with your victory or his defeat. No, you knew better than to believe you could win against him in a single battle. But it wasn’t a defeat, either.
It was the beginning of something bigger.
After your first encounter with Sukuna, something within you shifted. Yuji Itadori regained control, but you knew it was only temporary. Sukuna wasn’t gone. He was still there, lurking beneath the surface, waiting for his next opportunity to take control. And when he did, you were there.
Every. Single. Time.
Every time Sukuna resurfaced, you fought him. It became a twisted routine, an endless game of cat and mouse where neither of you could claim absolute victory. You learned his techniques, his fighting style, and the nuances of his cursed energy. You pushed yourself harder, training longer, grew stronger. And with every battle, Sukuna’s interest in you grew as well.
He began to speak to you during the fights, taunting you, teasing you, but always with that glimmer of intrigue in his eyes. He never seemed eager to kill you, not really. In fact, there were moments, brief, fleeting moments, where he seemed to hold back, almost as if he was enjoying the challenge you presented.
“Why do you keep coming back?” you asked him one day, your voice strained after yet another brutal fight.
“Why haven’t you killed me yet?”
Sukuna’s grin was feral, his eyes glittering dangerously as he wiped the blood from his lips.
“Because you’re amusing,” he replied, his voice low and menacing.
“And because I’m not done with you yet.”
You hated the way his words sent a shiver down your spine, the way his gaze seemed to pierce straight through you. But more than anything, you hated how much you wanted to beat him, to prove yourself against the King of Curses.
As the months passed, you found yourself drawn deeper into Sukuna’s world. You fought him, studied him, and slowly but surely somehow began to understand him. He wasn’t just a mindless monster, not like the other curses you’ve faced. There was something more to Sukuna, something ancient and calculating, a mind sharper than any blade.
And Sukuna, in turn, began to learn more about you. He observed your fighting style, your strategies, your strengths and weaknesses. He pushed you, challenged you, forced you to grow stronger with every battle. There was a strange, unspoken connection between you: a mutual recognition of each other’s strength, a respect born from the countless times you’d clashed.
But there was something else, too. Something neither of you wanted to acknowledge. Something that simmered beneath the surface of every encounter.
You hated him. You despised everything he stood for, the chaos and destruction he brought into the world. But there was a part of you that couldn’t deny the pull you felt toward him — the way his presence ignited something fierce and primal within you.
And Sukuna? Sukuna had grown attached to the thrill of facing you. You were unlike anyone he’d ever fought. Strong. Determined. Unyielding. It was no longer about crushing you under his heel. It was about keeping you close, about testing your limits and pushing you to your breaking point.
But neither of you were willing to admit what was truly happening between you.
You smile weakly to yourself, blood spilling from the corners of your mouth. Not even now.
The Shibuya Incident is chaos. The city is overrun with curses and the streets are filled with blood and screams. You dispatched alongside other sorcerers to contain the situation, but things quickly spiraled out of control. The curses were too many, too strong, and the collateral damage was catastrophic.
Your focus was on protecting your students, the young sorcerers under your care who had been thrust into this nightmare far too early in their training. You were always their protector, their guide, and you would do anything to keep them safe. But the battle was relentless, and the curses were closing in fast.
In the midst of the chaos, Sukuna reappeared, his presence like a dark shadow over the battlefield. He took control of Yuji once again, his cursed energy crackling through the air with terrifying force. You felt it the moment he arrived, your senses attuned to the overwhelming hatred that accompanied his presence.
You barely had time to react before you were caught in the crossfire. A powerful curse lashed out at you and you moved to shield your students from the blow. But the attack was too fast, too strong. It tore through your defenses, the cursed energy slicing through your body like a hot knife through butter.
Pain exploded in your chest when you collapsed to the ground, blood pooling beneath you. Your vision blurred, your breath coming in ragged gasps. You had suffered injuries before, but this… this was different.
This was fatal.
The world around you fades almost instantly, the edges of your vision go dark. You can feel your life slipping away, your body growing cold.
Out of all people, why does it have to be him you long for the most? Why do your eyes start watering by the thought that you'll might never see him again, that you were never able to feel his lips pressed against yours? Are you really so naive, so dumb? Fuck, you really fell for the King of Curses, the root of all evil.
But then… you hear his voice.
“Get. Up.”
Sukuna’s voice cuts through the haze of pain and exhaustion like a lightning strike. You blink, trying to focus, trying to understand what is happening. Is he really there? Are you hallucinating?
“Get up,” he repeats, his voice sharp and commanding.
But then you feel it. His hand pressed against the gaping wound in your abdomen. No, he's really there. It's really him.
“You’ve suffered bigger wounds. And if you don’t get up, I’ll destroy everything that’s left of this world.”
You force yourself to breathe, your chest burning with the effort. But your body isn’t responding anymore. The pain is too much. You simply can’t move. The only reaction you're able to build up is a weak smile.
Is this really how it ends? With another empy threat?
Sukuna growls, crouching down beside you. He can't let you die here. Not like this, not after this short time. There's still so much more he needs to show you, so much more he needs to say.
Before he realizes what he's even doing, his hands are on you, cursed energy flowing into your body, patching up the worst of the damage. It isn’t healing, not really - more like forcing your body to hold together for just a little longer. Just enough to keep you.
“Please…”
Sukuna’s voice is strained, his eyes narrowed in concentration.
“Please get up. Don’t die on me.”
You blink, your heart stuttering in your chest as his words sink in. He’s asking you. Pleading with you...Not to die?
“Please don’t die on me.”
With his cursed energy coursing through you, you really feel your strength returning, your wounds slowly mending under his influence. The pain fades away, replaced by a strange warmth that spreads through your body. You gasp for breath, your chest rising and falling as life surges back into you.
Did…Ryomen Sukuna save your ass? Your heart pounds so roughly against your ribcage that you feel like fainting all over again. This can’t be possible, right? You have to be dreaming. After all, Ryomen Sukuna is your greatest enemy, responsible for at least half of the mess here.
“I’m not… done yet,” you rasp, your voice weak but steady.
Sukuna’s lips curl into a smirk, his eyes gleaming with something dangerous paired with a hint of relief.
“That’s more like it.”
He helps you to your feet, his hand lingering on your arm for just a moment longer than necessary. You can feel the weight of his gaze on you, the unspoken bond between you stronger than ever.
"What, were you worried about me, dumbass?"
Faster than you're able to react, he grabs your arm again and pulls you in. When his lips press themselves against yours, you forget how to exist for a second. Out of instinct, you open your mouth, allow him to enter, close your eyes when your whole body starts to burn up all over again.
Oh, you imagined this more than once. How do his firm arms feel against your touch? Are his lips softer than his cruel words? Is Sukuna a good kisser?
A desperate moan escapes your lips before you can stop yourself, your arms now roaming all over his muscular frame.
This...this is so wrong. You shouldn't do this, shouldn't even dream about something like this. But as sudden as he appeared, he's gone again, leaving you with nothing but your swollen lips as a proof for what just happened.
Are you actually going insane?
Bonus:
After Shibuya, things changed between you and Sukuna.
The battles continued, of course. The fights, the challenges, the taunts, the unnecessary deaths and killing  - none of that stopped and you still hate him with every fiber of your being for all those horrible things he did. But there is something else now, something that neither of you can ignore. The second Sukuna saw you lying there in a pool of your own blood on the edge of death, he started to realize it.
You aren’t a simple enemy for him anymore. You are his obsession.
Sukuna’s possessiveness over you grew, but so did the strange, unspoken understanding between you. You weren’t just another sorcerer to him anymore. You were his: his opponent, his challenge, his equal. And though neither of you would ever admit it out loud, there was a twisted sort of affection in that.
And you?
You’ve found something unexpected in the King of Curses. Not love, not really, but something close. Something raw and powerful, a connection without any logic and reason.
You didn’t know where it would lead. But you knew one thing for sure:
As long as Sukuna was in this world, you would be right there with him.
And that was enough.

Inarizaki Grey’s Anatomy AU headcanons
I've been currently binging Grey's Anatomy with more or less of an obsession. Now I've been thinking of an Inarizaki Grey's au/crossover in which:
-The third years are attendings (doctors who completed their training in their specialty and are supervising the residents. They can also take the position of the head of a whole department )
-the second years are residents (doctors who completed their internship year and are receiving training in a specific medical area. Also function as supervisors for the “interns”, the first year doctors who just finished med school.)
-Atsumu, Osamu, Suna and Gin were Kita's (when he was a resident) interns who got often scolded which was deeply terrifying. But it was always valid criticism about the decisions they made as doctors.
-Kita might've been a harsh and sometimes terrifying resident but he was so strict because he wanted to make the four aware of that mistakes can cost lives in this profession. But Kita raised them well as they've all become excellent doctors.
-their specialties are (don't ask me how came up with this):
Kita=neuro surgery (operating on brain, spine and nervous systems)
Aran=cardiothorasic surgery (operating on heart, lungs and other organs from this area)
Akagi=pediatric surgery (operating on fetuses, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults)
Omimi=trauma surgery (manages physical injuries in emergency situations)
Atsumu=general surgery (operating on organs within the abdominal area)
Osamu=orthopedic surgery (operating on bones and muscles)
Suna=plastic surgery (correcting or restoring form and function of organs, doing skin transplantations)
Ginjima= cardiothorasic surgery (Aran took him under his wing)
-Atsumu was disappointed when Osamu chose to specialize in orthopedic surgery instead of general like him because he hoped that he and Osamu would be an unstoppable general surgeon duo. They refused to talk to each other for days
-During their internship, the twins got stuck in an elevator with a patient who had a gunshot wound once. Aran was on the other side and gave them instructions on performing an emergency surgery on his heart. It was just their first year, so the Dr. Miyas were anxious af but they successfully kept this patient alive on their own. Aran was so proud and told them: “Atsumu, Osamu you two just flew solo”
-The four interns witnessed a surgery in which Kita, Aran, Akagi and Omimi worked together on their first day and they realized how amazing their senpais were.
-Aran is the cardio god. He’s known as one of the best surgeons when it comes to heart transplantations in the country.
-Aside from being a brilliant surgeon. Kita is also the best candidate to become the next chief of the whole surgical department of the hospital because of his impeccable leadership and his organised nature.
-kids love Akagi. Somehow he always manages to brighten the sick kids up no matter in how much pain they’re which is probably why he became a pediatric surgeon in the first place
-As the trauma surgeon, Omimi often leads trauma training with medical dummies who simulate victims of an accident for the subordinate doctors. "Atsumu, time’s up your victim just bled out.." "AWWW Come on!"
-Suna and Osamu once made out in one of the examination rooms when they were interns but Suna forgot his boxers which was found and pinned on the “lost and found” section of a bulletin board the next day. Kita was furious to see the boxers on the board and probably said something like this: "you can tell me whose goddamn panties are on the bulletin board. this is a hospital, people, serious work happens here, we save lives here" *menacingly stares at Atsumu, Osamu, Suna and Gin* "I know it's one of yours. It's always one of mine (interns), always..."
-Kita's granny was once admitted to the hospital and needed surgery. Yes, yes it was dramatic but in the end everything went fine cuz our boys are hella good surgeons. After the surgery, Kita sat next granny's bed and told her: "Well, aren't my colleagues amazing?"
-Osamu is constantly seen munching something. Usually it’s an self-made onigiri or chips and a chocolate bar from the vending machine. It’s a hard job and he’s a glutton after all.
-He owns a signature scrub cap with tiny onigiris on it.
-Suna is constantly sleep deprived. That man walks around the hospital looking like he’s just arisen from a tomb. He even told his interns to never ever (!) wake him from his naps during night shifts, unless the patient is dying of course.
Wow, more headcanons than expected….Someone please make a fanart or fanfic out of this!!! 🚨

need to talk about this my brain is itchy (aka moth spends the better part of their day psychoanalyzing a fictional character alongside their ocs)
So, I wanna do a post about one of my older sets of Pokemon OCs, but weirdly enough I want to talk about the specific dynamic between these characters and the canon character they're associated with. Plus this may brink more on being headcanons so to speak, so, there's that too.
One of the first sets of Pokemon OCs I came up with was Andy and Ellie/Eloise (Ellie used to have a different name but I ignore that anymore lmao) -- something similar goes with Noel because he used to be wayyy different. But, they're some of my earlier Pokemon OCs, all meant to be related to Lysandre, via being his family.
Now this could all brink too on how old Lysandre is. Personally, I kind of imagine him to be in his early-mid 40s. But, the way it goes is that Lysandre and Noel had two kids more on accident than anything, not having planned to have them. Andy is around 18, Ellie is around 20. I can infodump more about them later, but it's always gotten me interested in a certain aspect: what if Lysandre was a parent, and how would that effect his partner and/or his kids?
Looking at Lysandre as a person, he's complex. He's two-sided, wanting to come off as being very personable, very charitable, very humble. One of the good people of the world. And has he done some good in his life? Sure. But beneath that surface is a man who's obsessed with perfection, obsessed with what is truly just a subjective concept, of perfection and ugliness. But, to him that doesn't matter. He's experienced first hand the greediness of humanity, and it's something that was bad enough to where he felt this obsessive need to then want to cleanse the world of its impurities. But in reality, that didn't truly matter. To him the only worthy ones are those who agree with him, in essence. The ones who follow him, or who give up their lives for him. (Though he also sees something in the player in X and Y, and asks if you want to join him.) But, there's one thing specific about his character that I find fascinating. He doesn't seem like he's fully in control of himself sometimes. There are times where it seems like he's having an internal struggle, does he truly want to go through with what he wants to do? He doesn't like the idea of having to kill the Pokemon to get what he wants. One could argue that perhaps there's something deeper about him, maybe the battle between a different part of him versus who he is now. Who knows? Lysandre's past, outside of him being a scientist, isn't very much known. This is a bit of word vomit, so, I apologize if it is inaccurate or it doesn't make sense. And, me bringing up him not being in control is not to diminish the bad things he has done or that he's attempted to do. (Also, technically I could bring up Alain, but unfortunately I don't remember about him or the anime all too well. Though, there is an older thread talking about the dynamic between Lysandre and Alain, and the potential emotional abuse that occurred, at the end of the post.)
But then, you get into the idea of that, but as a parent. You take Alain's situation, and you could potentially use that to help see this. Going back to Andy and Ellie, it's important to know too the relationship that'd be between Lysandre and Noel. The two had met when they were much younger, somewhere around their later teens, and after a few years, they dated, and had Ellie. (I feel it is necessary to not Noel is a transgender man, and came out when Andy and Ellie were young children.) Andy was born two years after Ellie, but their parents weren't married. When they did get married, that's when their relationship completely splintered. They needed to just split up for a while, they needed to take a break. They would divorce not long later, maybe a half year after. Noel offered to take both the kids, to take a load off of Lysandre, but he decided to try to help, by taking one of the kids. Split custody to a degree, but Noel was still open to taking Andy in, as they're the one who went with Lysandre when Noel and Ellie moved back to Snowbelle City. (Wherever Lysandre currently lives, I'm not sure.) All of this to then get into the dynamic of Lysandre as a father, of being raised by him.
Andy, between the time they were a young child (say around 6) up until they were 18, lived with Lysandre. Think of it like this, to the outside world, what did they have to complain about? They got anything they wanted, any games, clothes, et cetera. To the outside world, Andy was lucky, getting to be the child of one of Kalos's most prominent men. Thing is the two did have a good relationship when Andy was a child. But after the divorce, that's when things slowly began souring. Lysandre grew distant, becoming more absorbed with his work, and slowly starting to steep himself in his hatred towards humanity. Andy was starting to grow up, they became a teen, they did as any teen did in challenging their father, and beginning to argue with him. Not out of malice per se, but, that's just what happens during adolescence. In their case there was some frustration tied into it too, with never feeling good enough. All their accomplishments, awards, are put aside, just because Lysandre is working late. Because they are not more important than his ultimate goal. They grow reclusive and angry, hiding in their room for the most part (outside of taking care of the Pokemon around the house or making food, or cleaning), and disliking when other people are around. They dislike Team Flare and its scientists, they dislike Malva, and even for a point in time they disliked Professor Sycamore. (That I may get into more in the post I make about Andy, Ellie, and Noel, but to preface it some they hated how Augustine sort of blindly followed Lysandre. They do eventually start apprenticing under the professor though.)
Now another question could come into play here: where was Noel? He was there the whole time. He didn't have the ability to gain full custody of Andy again, but he also didn't want to completely disrupt their life with school and whatnot. Instead, he would let Andy stay over for extended periods, having Ellie's bedroom have a bunk bed for the siblings when Andy was over. He accommodated for them. And they tried to further do that when he learned about how Lysandre had been acting. Again, he was powerless, but he was also very tricky. Though then again Lysandre wouldn't have noticed because of work, or thinking Andy was just in their bedroom because of how much they isolated themself. So, he didn't worry all that much.
Lysandre did have his times where he seemed more remorseful, or in agreement with Andy, yes. But for the most part, the two were always at odds. And this all made Andy deteriorate mentally. (Side note here too, genetically speaking, while Andy looks more like a combo of Lysandre and Noel, or like a flower that exhibits signs of incomplete dominance, they inherited a lot of Lysandre's personality traits, as well as his mental illnesses, and other physical issues which I just imagine to be stomach problems. Don't ask I already cursed someone with this knowledge. Sorry Kat /lh) In that note, they do already have Lysandre's mental problems; bipolar depression and OCD being the most prominent, as well as delusions from BD, which I also believe Lys has to deal with. But, as time went on, there was more and more that got added to this. But, that's when we get into Andy finding out about Lysandre's ultimate plan.
Imagine finding out what your father has been doing, since you were a child, was something leading to doomsday was leading to something you ultimately would not be apart of, because you despise what your father has become, what he is doing. When Andy found out about the plan to activate the Ultimate Weapon, and to wipe out all he does not deem to be worthy. The ugliness in the world. In reality that just means to wipe out all but Team Flare. You are a teen still, and you find all of this out. Of course this caused issues for Andy. It caused stress, and fear. More mental health problems developed, paranoia and BPD. Because what they realized in all of that too was that there was no room for them in this new world. They were Lysandre's child, sure, But, they were not a part of Team Flare, did not like what they were doing, and strongly disagreed with their father. The same could be said for Noel and Ellie as well. And this caused them to panic.
A question I can hear already is, what about Ellie? I haven't mentioned her relationship with Lysandre, because they barely have one with him. Again she was raised by Noel, not by Lysandre. She seldom interacted with him, and when she did, it was awkward in nature. And as time went on it got even more awkward, especially as Andy was telling her and their other dad about what was going on. If anything this just made things more awkward. Unlike Andy, she doesn't really look up to Lysandre. She knows he's her father but she doesn't want to pursue things like he does, she isn't a scientist but she is personable. She has the better traits Lys has, the sociability and intelligence. But, she doesn't want to pursue life like how he does, and in fact spends a lot of her time at home with Noel to help him get around. And she doesn't mind doing that. She isn't chasing any big dreams, she's living in the moment when she's allowed to.
Now what about Noel? How did he feel about all of this, seeing how his ex-husband has not only apparently gone off the deep end, or been doing do for the last several years, but the child he trusted Lysandre to raise has a bunch of issues now thanks to their father's problems. So, there are times he's close to wringing Lys's neck. But at the same time, he gets emotional about it, angry at himself almost, feeling like there was more he could have done to prevent this, even if again he was powerless. He misses the man he fell in love with, and wants him back, but he truly does hate the man he became.
The thing is too, deep down, all Andy ever wanted was for their father to see the error in his ways, to understand he couldn't change the world on a whim, that this was genocide. The pleaded with him, all they wanted was their papa back. All they wanted was to look back and to see their father, not a complete stranger. And all of that in the end took a horrid effect on their mental health. They did start healing over time, yes. But they still find themself constantly conflicted. If Lysandre dies, they wonder if that's truly what they wanted. But if he doesn't die, they still struggle with the idea of him still being out and about, if he's not put into prison that is. As ambiguous as it is, they find themself with more questions than answers in the end.
And how Lysandre would feel would be a mystery. Because there is a chance where he would regret what he did, where he would wish he could go back and make things normal, if that's truly what he wanted. To be normal again, to feel normal again. But there's the chance too that he only regrets his plans not working, because it just means he'll be seen as a pariah or someone who's mentally unstable. He isn't in control anymore, and feels scorned because of it. He made too many mistakes in the end. Even thinking about this could be subjective, wondering about it and our answers could be subjective.
Could I keep yammering about this? Yes. I genuinely could. I don't know why I'm yammering about this specifically, but, oh well. I'll probably post a more in depth analysis of Andy, Ellie, and Noel later on, but content wise I'm going to leave it at this, only adding a couple notes. If anything I mentioned above mental illness wise is at all inaccurate I apologize, even if it was just the names of particular disorders. Also, this isn't anything to demonize Lysandre or mental illness, I just think he's a really fascinating character. I think the same with a majority of the villainous Pokemon bosses, but lately I've been a bit hyperfixated on Kalos. (That, and Galar.) I know it's obvious I'm not demonizing anything, it's just something I'd like to re-iterate. If you'd like to ask anything about this feel free too, or if you'd like to figure out why I posted this, your guess is mine but maybe I'll have an explanation. (also I just like to infodump hehe)
(I'll also still link the post regarding Alain that I mentioned above if you'd like to give it a read, it's interesting to see.)

Hello tell me anything about your Volo au
YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS TYSM FOR ASKING ABOUT IT OMG OMG.
Okay, so, I'm gonna split this post up into sections, summarizing parts of the au since it's not fully fleshed out yet, but omg i have so many thoughts.
The sections will be: The Beginning, Overall Plot, Trainwreckshipping Plot , and The Ending.
The post will cut off after the Beginning section so you can decide whether or not you're interested enough to read the rest of the post.
Ready?
OKAY, here we go:
The Beginning
So basically the au starts out kinda like the movie starts out.
Volo's having a bad day, and then: boom.
Train accident.
On a rush on his way home, he discovers his bicycle's breaks don't work anymore, and speeding down a hill, he gets hit by a fucking train.
HOWEVER, he wakes up moments before the crash, and with what little consciousness he regained, he serves out of the way before he reaches the tracks.
Completely baffled, Volo goes home and decides to do some research into the phenomenon, where he finds out that what he experienced is called a "time leap"
___________________
Overall Plot
He leapt far enough during his accident that he landed a few moments in the past, there in saving his life.
Diverging from the movie plot: later down the line it will be revealed that Giratina is the reason for his new found abilities. It gave him the ability to warp time and space so that he may free it from it's prison.
Throughout the plot of this au, Volo will delve further and futher into his research, leaping time and time again. Losing so much as he becomes more and more obsessed with pokemon deities until ultimately he goes mad, and releases Giratina with the plan to destroy and recreate the world.
_____________________________
Trainwreckshipping Plot
Anyway---
Back to some less serious minor plot points.
Volo attempts to recreate this phenomenon by jumping off of several surfaces in his apartment but sadly, fails horrendously. (Loser didn't have enough momentum, smh, Giratina is cringing as we speak)
He injures himself pretty badly and decides it's not worth it, before going to sleep and deciding to go in for work the next day.
Here's where the Volo x Emmet comes in;
Now a fucking pedestrian, Volo takes--- you guess it, the subway to work.
Volo's kinda freaking out internally the whole ride because--- imagine getting killed by a train and then taking that very same train to work. (I hc their tracks sometimes go above ground, so--- yeah- It was their train Volo got hit with.)
Emmet sees Volo, and the condition he's in (he got all bruised up from jumping off of stuff the night before), and like the sweetheart he is offers him help.
Nothing much, just to escort him to the ER.
Volo politely declines bc he has to work, to which he goes to work, has a horrible day, and is promptly fired.
Fed up with this shit, once back at his apartment, Volo decides to try and time leap one last time.
He backs up, gets a running start, and jumps off the flight of stairs.
And he succeeds!!!
But also, he fucked up.
He ends up back at the stairway to the subway earlier in the day, and much to his dismay; has still effectively thrown himself down a flight of stairs.
He tumbles down, and lands harshly against the platform at the end of the stairs, right when the train pulls up, just in time for Emmet to see.
Fucking horrified by the fact that someone just came flying down a flight of stairs (Emmet assumes he was pushed by somebody), Emmet comes rushing out and promptly abandons his duties for the day to take Volo to the ER (Volo is really banged up now, dark bruises, bloody nose, the works)
Volo and Emmet keep in touch and become close friends (Ingo doesn't mind this development, he's always happy to see his brother make friends)
Somewhere down the line, Emmet comes out and confesses that he developed feelings for Volo, to which Volo freezes up in terror, goes home, and jumps back to the moment before the confession.
Volo isn't sure how to feel about this development.
He never thought about Emmet that way... He doesn't hate him, or even really hate the idea of dating him, he's just--- scared.
Emmet is practically his only friend.
He's scared of altering the dynamic they already have by either accepting or rejecting him, so he just rewinds time and tries to avoid the topic that lead to that moment. (In case your wondering; yes, Volo runs away and fucking jumps off of a high surface to avoid answering as soon as Emmet confesses, what a loser)
But it just happens again.
And again.
And again.
Emmet loves him so much that--- no matter what route Volo takes, he always ends up confessing.
After the third time, with a bit of frustration Volo snaps and declines.
Emmet is shocked by this, he's not mad he said no, but hurt that he yelled and acted like something was wrong with him.
He just lets out a defeated "...Okay." and departs.
This effectively ruins their friendship, which is ironically what Volo wanted to avoid.
After a while, Volo realizes that--- his life is much... emptier, without Emmet. He misses his smile, his laugh--- even the bluntness, and obliviousness...
He misses him.
He was the only thing outside of his research that--- he ever looked forward to...
A few weeks of loneliness and brooding later, Volo takes a running start and jump out of a window, and lands moments before Emmet's confession.
In tears, Volo accepts this time.
Though happy and cute at first, their relationship will begin to be strained as Volo slowly loses his sanity. (Emmet will be extremely concerned, to which Volo will continuously push him away. Even though Emmet will try his hardest, there's only so much of that one can take.)
___________________________
The Ending
(TW for Suicidal Ideation and Suicide attempts)
So now, you're probably wondering, where's this going?
Where's it all going to end?
In reality, I dunno what all I'm gonna include in this au besides what was stated above.
But I do know...
No matter where it goes--- No matter what highs he may have---
Volo will recognize his misery, and attempt to end his own suffering.
He will climb atop a high building, and take one last leap, in the hopes it will end his life...
And as a result... he will fall out of the sky, and land in Hisui
... :)
The end! <3
If you made it this far, thank you SO much for reading, I appreciate it immensely!!!
If you have any further questions, or even suggestions for plot points I'm ALL ears!!!!

Inspired by Teenage Mercenary, a DC × DP AU in which Danny plays the role on Ijin except instead of a foreign country Danny grew up in the Ghost Zone after an ill fated trip wherein Jack, Madeline and Danny entered the ghost zone in the prototype Specter Speeder but failed to return. Instead of growing up with her grandparents, Jazz is taken in by Vlad and then one day an older iteration of Danny emerges from Vlad's ghost zone portal. Jazz bearhugs Danny and Danny hugs her back, in steps Vlad who also hugs his godson adding to the dog pile.
Vlad uses Jazz's preexisting attendance to Gotham Academy to get Danny into the school as a new student and Danny is sorted into the same homeroom as one Tim Drake.
Sorry for the delay on this, Shroud, I wanted to be able to give you something good instead of whatever hot garbage my fevered brain churned out. I mean, it might still be hot garbage, but at least I tried, you know?
Anyway
I LOVE this idea an amount that you probably expected. Let's start with the immediate effects and then push out to when he returns!
Vlad
The objects of his obsession (Maddie and Jack) are gone. Dead. He even goes to the GZ to find them with no luck; just a wrecked Specter Speeder, parts and pieces of Maddie and Jack, and a blood-soaked baby seat.
Understandably, his mental status is completely rocked. If he didn't have the (once minor) obsessions with family and custody of Jazmine, his core would've shattered.
All that to say: this is a Vlad more like the future one in the apocalypse during TUE. He's broken, barely holding himself together for the sake of this broken-hearted little girl, and is forced to move on.
Jazmine
Despite being only 3 at the time of the accident, she has a lot of guilt. She thinks she should have faked being sick, thrown a tantrum, ANYTHING. It takes years of therapy (hence her goal of being a psychiatrist) for her to internalize it wasn't her fault. She was 3. She wasn't even at the house, she was at a sleepover. How was she supposed to stop them?
Despite her (unfair) guilt, she moves to calling Vlad 'dad' pretty quickly. Now, when she thinks of her dad, it's our favorite Green Bay Packers fan. When somebody presses about her bio dad, she has a few pictures, some stories, and a vague memory of a man in orange buckling up her older brother for the last ride he would ever take.
She misses Danny, and often wonders what he'd be like if he lived. Her hardest day, besides the immediate aftermath, was her 6th birthday because that meant she was older than Danny (who was 5 when he died) would ever be.
6 year old Jazz had a very hard time.
Now, at 14, her main concerns are having to move to Gotham and leave her friends Sam and Tucker (not to mention the town she grew up in) behind. She spent the last half year in Gotham, but she thought she was going back to Amity Park
Unfortunately (or fortunately) for her, business is booming, and Vlad signed a contract with Wayne Enterprises that's slowly putting a certain evil billionaire out of business, and he needs to be in city. And she's 14, so she is, obviously, going with him.
Side note, Vlad grew up rich and in boarding schools. He had a Very Bad Time in boarding schools, so that's a no go for him. Also, his existence low-key revolves around his daughter, so he starts going a little canon-level crazy when he can't see her for at least an hour or two a week. (Thank you, Skype! She can enjoy summer camp as long as she has a reliable internet connection!)
Also: Jazz knows this. But her abandonment issues have abandonment issues, so she's totally fine with this: she gets to reassure herself that her only living parent is still (half) alive and healthy.
Also also: thanks to an unexpected vulture visit, she's known Vlad is a half ghost since she was 4.
The Plot Beggineth
Is Beggineth a word? I like it, so it is now.
She sneaks off to say a final goodbye to Fentonworks the week before they're supposed to leave, but Sam and Tucker have a feeling she would do that and follow her.
Most of this chapter would be somber, I think. Jazz visiting the Ops center, the kitchen, and every room to say a final goodbye because, tbh, she doesn't plan on going back here again at this point. She's finally ready to move on.
She tests the lock on the lab as always, and it's locked, but the hinges have rusted and pretty much falls over. Despite knowing how dangerous a maintained ghost lab is, she decends. A last goodbye to the ghosts who never, despite all the wishes and prayers, came to haunt her.
There's the wrecked Speeder, just as her dad found it years ago. The weapons cabinet, the lab tables. All untouched bexause her dad couldn't stand to be here either. She's about to leave when she trips over a Fenton Thermos and lands in the portal.
Despite being very careful standing up, she trips on a wire, and the fact her dad never shut off the power really bites her because she bumps the on button, and boom! Halfa!Jazz.
By this time, Sam and Tucker are there to see her death, and Vlad's not far behind since his wards were tripped when she entered. They're all a little too late.
Not only does the portal activation kill Jazz! It also acts as a beacon to a certain ghost who doesn't remember much, but knows his obsession lies on the other side of the door he can't cross. Until now.
Danny
Immediately recognizes Jazz, though not Vlad.
They don't recognize him either. He's had a multitude of ghost parents, so 4 arms (Pandora), horns (Frostbite), star maps on his skin (Clockwork), and- well, he looks like a neverborn.
Until he switches back, and he's the spitting image of Jack at that age. He knows things only Danny would know. VERY secretive blood tests prove that's Jazz's long (un)dead brother.
Jazz and Vlad are beyond excited to have him back, and so is he! Matter of fact, Vlad's a little confused at how such a gentle, kind boy (admittedly with a lot of sass) has (half) survived the GZ.
All that changes when Luthor does weird mind control on Superman to get revenge (not against Plasmius- he isn't in the know- but against Vlad, who is driving him out of business) (overkill much, Lexy?), and Danny takes him down in like...20 seconds.
Super speed? Well how does your super hearing like that Ghostly Wail? Super strength? Boy, he wrestles with the ghost of the Nemean Lion on the regular.
Lazer eyes? Frost breath. Catch two arms? Jokes on you, he's got 2 more and now you're in range.
Yeah. It's quick. Batman and the bats have to slow down CCTV footage to 1 FPS and it's still faster than the camera could track.
He always went by Phantom in the GZ, so that's his hero name! Vlad still tries to teach him- and learns a few tricks himself. They both teach Jazz.
Tim
With summer over, classes start again!
Immediately, Tim knows something is off. The new kid, Danny, is WAY too nice for Gotham. Yeah, he's sassy, but he'll also make friends with anybody!
Tim tries to teach him the ropes. This causes Danny to believe they're BFFs now, which Tim was NOT aiming for, he just didn't want the cinnamon roll to be murdered.
Only then Danny steps in with a school bully who Tim has just had to deal with because he can't reveal his combat training, and absolutely shreds the guy to pieces. Then, super friendly, gives Tim his backpack back and wants to know if Tim knows any good burger joints in the area.
Detective mode: activated! Tim (thinks he) figures out that this is a Jason Situation. He resolves to keep an eye out on Danny to see if he has superpowers or nah.
Tim: I'll hang around him until I figure him out. Danny: new friend!
Danny starts showing up randomly. A fight breaks out while he's supposed to be in class? Nope, Danny's right beside him kicking ass, but his teacher says he never left the room, and the footage he (ahem) aquired confirms it.
Tim starts making a list of powers and panicking because a meta like this might be able to slow down even Superman! He'd be far more frightened if he knew half of the stuff Danny could really pull.
The Batfam thinks Tim has a crush. There's a lot of 'you can tell us anything!' speeches, Kate reminds him she's lesbian and it's ok with everyone else for some reason, even Jason gets to the point where he's just: Tim. Listen. Bruce is like the only straight person here, and frankly nobody knows about Alfred. It's cool if you want to bring him home.
"He's a meta."
"I'll make an exception unless he hurts you."
Tim thinks: ok, meta is fine. Turn him into a hero! Bruce thinks: ok, going to meet my son's boyfriend soon!
This is, by the way, the while thing. Everyone (but Tim & sweet cinnamon roll Danny) thinks they're dating. It gets to the point where Bruce and Vlad start inviting eachother over for family dinners in the hopes that their sons will just fess up, already!
Everyone (but Tim, Jazz, and Vlad) thinks Danny is either normal, or a meta with some speed and strength enhancements.
Tim tries to explain how dangerous he really is? YES, Tim, we GET IT, Danny is AWESOME and has great hair, JESUS CHRIST.
Hilariously, Tim and Danny keep getting kidnapped, and everyone from the Batfam thinks Tim keeps somehow overpowering metas to rescue them. Ghostfam thinks Tim is now In The Know.
"Hey Mr. Masters-"
"Tim, please, it's Vlad."
"Uh. Vlad? How did Danny get superpowers?"
"Oh, he died."
"WhAt?!"
Phantom and Robin keep teaming up to rescue Jazz, who is doing her best not to show powers so Lex doesn't have a reason to clone her.
Phantom/Robin becomes a thing. Danny/Tim is still not. When they find out, both families are FURIOUS.
"DANIEL JAMES FENTON-MASTERS, WHY ARE YOU CHEATING ON YOUR BOYFRIEND?!"
"TIMOTHY DRAKE, GET DOWN HERE AND TELL ME WHY RED ROBIN WAS SEEN KISSING PHANTOM?!"
Tim starts hanging around the Fenton-Masters more because NOBODY believes he and Danny aren't dating! Danny does the opposite- and both figure out eachother's secret identities.
This leads to further problems because: ok, he likes Red Robin, but he clearly isn't interested in Tim Drake. Ok, he likes Phantom, but Danny probably annoys him.
Tim gets Unmasked by Disposable Henchman #4, and (after getting rid of the others), Danny, to even the score, shows that Phantom and Danny are the same person too.
This leads to further drama. You'd think everything was solved, wouldn't you? Nah. "Dad, please stop yelling at me. Tim IS Red Robin." "Oh, that's a load of licorice, Danny, you're grounded."
"Bruce, everybody- I'm tired of this, so here: Danny IS Phantom." "So now you're lying to your BF AND to us?!"
Finally, they unmask in front of each other's families. Problem solved, right? Right! Except Jazz is kidnapped now, and there's this new scary blue meta looking for a ghost kid, and- shit's complicated.
But that's (realistically) where I'd go with it- romantic comedy/ crouching tiger hidden dumbass style.
All in all:
Danny? Genius when it comes to fighting, the GZ, and math. Dumbass for anything else.
Tim? Genius when it comes to detective work, fighting, and breaking and entering. Dumbass when it comes to human interaction.
Danny AND Tim? Bisexual Disaster Squad for the win!

Malfunctions
(Kind of written for @samtember2022 prompt: cap's suit but kind of got focused on not Sam. Listen you can't describe how hot Sam is from his own pov)
(Nico is an OC and the narrative lens of a series of mine called The Intern Files who works in the reports division of shield/sword, particularly with Sam and Bucky)
---
"Wait, wait, wait," Nico interrupted, waving his hand and pen around to cut through the bickering that had erupted in his half office. "How did you shoot yourself in the foot?"
Bucky glared at him and, though the expression still made him pause, Nico had seen it often enough not to be too threatened. "The gun discharged accidentally."
"It's not the only thing that did," Joaquin snickered, which made Nico's cheeks warm. When Joaquin glanced over and grinned, Nico lost all cognitive abilities.
It was fine because Bucky and Joaquin began sniping at each other again. Nico kind of hated missions that meant the heroes ended up crowded around his desk. He didn't mind working with one at a time, but all three? Absolutely not. Even Hattie had vacated her side of the office and she never turned down the chance to stare at Bucky.
"I just don't understand how Bucky Barnes, of all people, accidentally shoots himself in the foot," Nico insisted.
"I was distracted. Sam's suit suffered a malfunction and he was left vulnerable."
Nico had been reading Bucky's reports and dealing with his spoken testimonies to notice when he referred to Sam as Sam or as Cap. The difference was often how scared he'd been in the moment. Whether he made the decision as a superhero partner or a partner partner.
But Bucky didn't seem scared now. And the way Joaquin--who was almost just as obsessed with Sam as Bucky was--kept snickering made Nico think it hadn't been a serious issue.
"You were fighting...carnival themed bad guys," Nico read from Sam's report.
"Strongmen, a lion tamer sans lion, even a mime," Joaquin added.
"Don't forget the guy in the cannon," Sam said tiredly.
"Yeah, but I caught him the third time he did that." Joaquin turned to grin at Nico. "Let me say, he was not expecting that midair."
Bucky knocked the back of his hand against Joaquin’s chest. "It was an accident. Are you gonna sign off or not?"
Nico had never considered this role to be particularly powerful. When he'd first started working for SHIELD, or SWORD or whatever they were now, he could barely get Barnes to turn in his reports within six months of a mission. Apparently though new procedures had been enacted that required a second party to genuinely read and corroborate multi-hero reports. Basically making sure everyone turned in their reports and they all matched.
Apparently someone had stolen reports to hide some kind of damming or embarrassing story. Wonder who that was, Bucky Barnes.
"There's no way they're going to not want an explanation," Nico sighed. "And you definitely won't get medical time off without getting some proof you didn't do it on purpose."
"I did not shoot myself in the foot on purpose," Bucky growled. "I'm not staying around for this. I turned in your stupid paper work. I'm going to sleep."
"Buck," Sam called, trotting after him. It was amazing how quickly Barnes could move, even with a hole in his foot.
Joaquin took up a perch on the back of the second chair in Nico's office. Nico did his best not to stare.
"Cards on the table?" the Falcon offered with a charmingly mischievous raised eyebrow and grin. "Here's what really happened."
----------------
Joaquin completed another backwards flip in the air--ostensibly to avoid bullets (or whatever was passing for bullets right now. Hard peanuts?) but mostly because it was fun and he was kind of bored.
"Torres, I swear to God, if you don't focus I'm gonna yank you back to the ground myself," Barnes threatened in his ear. Joaquin liked being in the air. He didn't have to listen to Barnes very often. Sam usually gave him a pass.
"He's right, kid," Sam answered, ruining hope. "We gotta be on our toes here."
That was easier said for the guys doing hand-to-hand. All the action was down there. For a carnival themed group of bad guys, there was a noticeable lack of trapeze artists to give Joaquin something to work with in the air. He'd offered to keep his eyes peeled for a lion or elephants, but there were none to be found. He'd taken care of the guy shooting himself out of a cannon to move around a while ago and nothing else had taken to the skies.
"Falcon!" Sam called and Joaquin tucked the wings to plummet down to the ground, opening them at the last possible moment so he landed instead of crashing.
"What's up, Cap?" he asked but couldn't wait for an answer because he was suddenly caught up in a scuffle with a clown. "Man, I hope that's just runny face paint and not blood," he said with a scrunch of his nose. He tried to land punches away from the red stains dripping against the white paint of the clown's face.
He thought the fight was going fairly well. The clown was remarkably resilient and he was obviously trained. Fast and creative in his attacks. Joaquin wondered if that was part of clown school. And what was the order of this group? Clowns who became bad guys or bad guys who decided on this shtick?
"Hey, did you guys--" The words were knocked out of him when the clown suddenly smashed the heel of hand against the base of Joaquin's sternum once, twice, three times.
"Ow, ow, ow," Joaquin managed to gasp out before all the air in his lungs vacated and didn't come back. He stumbled back until his knees went out and he hit the ground harder than he was expecting. He could feel himself gasping for air, felt the dry hay on the ground fluttering around his mouth but never quite doing anything more.
He tried to call for Sam but his tongue was being about as responsive as his lungs. He could practically feel Sam's name in his mouth but he just couldn't make it real. He made a mental note that, if he survived this, he was definitely figuring out some way to send a distress signal through touch with the comms.
And then familiar boots touched down in front of him, pivoted from the fight to check in on Joaquin and then turned back before Joaquin could even look up at him. He knew better than to grab for Sam's ankle, no matter how much he wanted to. Instead, he let the hands on his shoulders turn him over and found himself staring at Barnes' face instead. Not exactly the last image he wanted before he died, really.
"How's he looking?" Sam called, dodging punches and bullying the clown away from Joaquin and Bucky.
"I think it's just a pressue point. Nothing broken or damaged. Keep us clear," Barnes answered. He did something that was like a compression, though he was at the wrong angle for it. The muscles around Joaquin's ribs tensed, his heart stressed, and then air rushed back into his lungs. He gasped in air, choked on it, and then took in another rasping breath.
Barnes was still hovering over him, blue eyes steady and calculating. "How do you feel?" he asked. He was still doing weird half compressions and, for a second, Joaquin was scared he wasn't going to be able to breathe if he stopped.
"Wishing the trained medic was the one doing this," Joaquin coughed out. He struggled to sit up and even let Barnes help. Hopefully neither of them would think to hold it over the other's head later. "Am I gonna keep breathing?"
"For just this once, I hope so," Barnes said. He stood and then hauled Joaquin to his feet. The ground swayed under them, or maybe Joaquin's head swayed, and Barnes kept that same steady gaze on him. Apparently he passed muster, though, because it only took a few extra seconds and few landed blows from the fight next to them to convince Barnes to disengage with a rough pat on the shoulder.
Joaquin would have given himself another few seconds to breathe, but the lion-tamer-ring-leader launched himself at Joaquin and he had to jump right back into the fight. This guy was stronger than the clown had been, using brute force and his size to his advantage. But Joaquin had an advantage too and the third time the man threw himself at Joaquin, he let the wings carry him into the sky and landed a round house kick to the man's head from the new vantage point. The lion tamer sprawled on the ground, twitched a few times, and then went lax.
"Hey, nice move," Sam complimented.
Joaquin looked around for him, found him and Barnes fighting towards each other, driving the remaining circus crew towards each other. Joaquin readied a net. He could release it now and leave one or two hostiles free, or he could wait and get them all at once. He weighed the odds of anyone breaking rank and making a run for it before Sam and Barnes could corral the last few clowns and barkers together.
Barnes was fighting a strongman and had apparently lost patience because he was only pulling his punches a little bit. Even so, the man's broad body seemed to be absorbing the blows for the most part. Sam was still fighting off the clown that had taken Joaquin down--shit, Barnes really wasn't going to let him live that down--and a mime with fire. That seemed out of character, Joaquin thought.
Barnes turned--really, the strongman spun him around--and the clown suddenly lunged for Sam. Joaquin could see it play out in slow motion. Barnes, turned away, the way the blows would land against Sam's chest, the way he'd be completely vulnerable as his body seized without air, Joaquin too far away to stop it.
"Bucky!" Joaquin cried as he dove towards Sam and the clown. Even with diving in, Joaquin got there well after the three strikes landed on Sam's chest. Bucky hadn't been able to fight himself free either, until Joaquin was on the ground and Sam was clutching at his chest.
A burst of violence exploded from Bucky's fight and the strongman collapsed before Joaquin could take a step towards Sam. But that step faltered. Even the clown had stopped fighting and the mime's flame thrower was hanging limply from her hand.
Because there was Sam, his hand flat over his chest, staring wide eyed at, first, Joaquin and then Bucky, where he was fighting his way towards Sam with blind fear and rage. He must've been blind, Joaquin thought. Because Sam was fine. Breathing evenly, which Joaquin could see because his Cap suit had retracted into his wing pack, the way the something-scientific-and-secretive-technology was supposed to if he pressed the star just right. It was good for access to injuries if Sam couldn't undress himself. Or, on a few occasions, emergency showers.
"Uh... you look good, Cap," Joaquin offered weakly, trying to smile encouragingly. Sam glared at him, though it was difficult to take him very seriously when he looked like a centerfold. Seriously, who really glistened with sweat like that? It seemed as sprayed on as his briefs did.
The fight had still not resumed. Joaquin glanced around as much as he could without making a sudden moment and breaking the scene. Everyone was staring a little slack-jawed. Mostly in that way you did at the gym, where you were trying to make it seem like you weren't looking but you definitely weren't focused on your workout either. Joaquin should be glad. The current workout was destruction, so it was nice that they were taking a break. Even if it was to stare at Sam's chest.
A gun shot rang out and Sam and Joaquin looked over in time to see Barnes, who had made it to the front of the group, shift his expression from wide eyed adoration to something like incandescent rage and pain.
"Did you just shoot yourself in the foot?" a different mime asked. Also out of character. These mimes sucked. Joaquin was figuring they were bad guys with a shtick, not an evil carnival crew. He ignored the embarrassing dance Bucky was definitely not doing in favor of releasing the net across the group of carnival cosplayers. He shoved the last clown standing into the snare as well. Maybe a little roughly.
"Show's over, folks," he said, securing the net and radioing in for clean up. Even so, he snuck another glance at Sam and his broad chest and flexing arms as he tried to re-release the suit. It was a show alright.
Barnes had recovered enough to limp towards Sam and hit the button or whatever on his wing pack to release the suit again. Kind of sad, Joaquin thought. He was sure most of the audience thought. But Sam and Barnes both seemed to be fuming enough that he didn't bother to say it out loud.
What he said instead was, "Well, what do we want to say on our reports this time?"
Genuinely, Joaquin thought if there wasn't a hole in Bucky's foot, he might've attacked him. If looks could kill and all that. But then Sam laughed, loud and gasping. He clutched at Bucky's arm as he pitched to the side. Barnes' attention went to him, turning from anger to concern just like that.
"I cannot believe that happened," Sam gasped, bending at the waist to hold himself up on his knees. "Do not ever tell Bishop and Belova about this." And then a new wave of laughter took over and Joaquin found himself grinning at the other man too. He even jostled Barnes' arm to make him snort.
"I need to get to a medic," Barnes said in some attempt to stay cool. But the words only served to send Sam and Joaquin into new hysterics.
"You shot yourself 'cause you were staring at me!" Sam wheezed. "I know I look good, but baby, come on. You malfunctioned!"
"I'm injured," Barnes insisted. And Joaquin knew he only said it to keep Sam laughing. He could tell by the pleased little grin that came to his mouth when Sam did fall into a new fit.
They'd barely stopped laughing by the time other teams started showing up. But it just took a sideways glance on the jet to set everyone off again.
--------------
Nico rubbed at the bridge of his nose and then his temples. He had never gotten headaches before working here. Joaquin was still looking at him with big brown eyes that he still wasn't used to seeing in person. "I guess the reports are technically close enough to that for me to let it slide."
Joaquin grinned and hopped off the chair. "Thanks. You know how Barnes is with words. Thinks they're still rationed."
"You three are going to be the reason for every dumb rule there is with these forms," Nico sighed.
"Hey, when I'm on my own, I'm great at these things."
"Yeah, you're a natural story teller," Nico agreed drily.
"It's easy when it comes to the greatest show on Earth," Joaquin said and his grin got even wider.
"Are you taking about the circus or Sam's chest?"
"His chest is pretty nice," Joaquin agreed. "But the real fun starts here, right?" he asked with a wink. He ambled backwards towards the door, rapping two knuckles on Nico's desk as he went. "See you next time, Nico. I'll bring a better story."
"Yeah, see you." Nico did not swoon until Joaquin was definitely out of the hallway.

s/o who dies.
Tumblr media
A/n: listennnn, I wasn't going to write something dark, but then I unregretfully decided to listen to edgy/dark audios and I was suddenly in the mood to write this so yeah lmao. also, guess what? I'm planning on making a discord server right after posting this! so, be on the lookout for that when I get it all sorted out. also, note for Scaramouche's that the reader inserts tend to lean more femininely versed (I hope that's okay), the only reasons why I do that is because one I simp and I'm female AND two since I am doing a mini-series for Scara, I've kind of based his imagines/fics around that universe (baby daddy universe). I haven't started his yet, but consider these part of that series' universe. anyways as always thank you for requesting anon and enjoy! <333
Summary: you die + how the boys cope afterward.
Parings: Albedo/Gn! Reader, Xiao/Gn! Reader, Scaramouche/Fem! Reader
Warnings: swearing, angst, death, poison, illness/cancer, murder, arson, obsessive behavior

Albedo
Tumblr media
"You need to keep this on your head." Your lover said for the one-hundredth time, placing the cold cloth on your forehead once again after taking it off only seconds earlier.
"This is pointless," You said, no longer wanting to ignore nor hide behind the invisible thick curtains of the obvious death sentence approaching. "My body rejected the medicine the first twice doses, what's a third time going to do?" You asked, knowing Albedo wouldn't answer; your hope was to knock some sense into his thick skull. but he was too worried trying to ignore the obvious as you had previously been doing, not anymore though.
This was saddening to watch, both Albedo's unfolding and the girl who accidentally poisoned you, whimpering into Sucrose's shoulder. She was only a young girl, barely seventeen when she was chosen to work under Sucrose and your boyfriend. She was very good at Alchemy and luckily had a desire to practice the craft. But unfortunately, she hadn't paid much attention when it came to Surcrose's educational poison lesson and had unknowingly mixed up poisonous liquids and materials.
After tipping over some clutter in Albedo's office and knocking over a test tube laying unsealed on the counter, you had realized the contents spilled on your skin, bleaching into your pores. You had been tasked with bringing the famed alchemist and his assistant some vials and materials for the collection of a rare butterfly they had found. It was both telling and obvious that something was wrong when you never showed up with the required materials requested and it was already too late hours later when the chief Alchemist, his assistant, and Alchemist in training came bounding down the stairs of Albedo's home laboratory.
It didn't take long for the trio to realize something was wrong. Sucrose had found the vile on the floor, most of its contents spilled and in a little puddle, plus your state on a nearby lounge chair was obvious; slumped awkwardly, forehead visibly sweating, eyes closed, breathing raspily.
You accepted the first doses of the supposed nullifying medicine without hesitation, just wanting the numbing feeling to go away. But when it never kicked in you decided it would be best to save the medicine, because it wasn't working. Your time was coming.
"Since the medicine is taking immediate effect, you should try to get the contents out of your system," He said, reaching out for you. Badly you wanted to argue that the medicine wasn't working at all, but he wasn't listening and already has his lean arms wrapped around your middle, helping gently lift and guide you over to the sink.
You hear materials being shoved to the side and soon enough you had your head dangling over the sink, shaking hands gripping the metalled edge tightly. Soon enough, Albedo's hand was on your back rubbing up and down, hoping to comfort you, it wasn't working though. You could only think about your death, what the other side would look like. Could there even be heaven or hell, maybe a place in between, maybe nowhere...?
As soon as you felt the urge to vomit, you did, and despite it being utterly disgusting Albedo seemed to welcome it happily. He took this as something good, but it only worried you when you saw the reddish hues in the bile.
"I think they should leave." You muttered acknowledging Sucrose and Elizabeth, the taste of gooey, metal only becoming more apparent. The blonde agreed, nodding and muttering "Okay."
As Sucrose lead Elizabeth towards the stairs, the pair heard you say. "Goodbye Sucrose, Elizabeth." Which only seemed to make the young girl wail louder.
You sighed sadly once the silence was back. Just your thoughts of death, and Albedo's slowly crushing heart.
"You should probably leave soon as well. I don't want you to be here when I go." Albedo frowned at your statement, head shaking.
"Don't say things like that."
Of course, he'd say that. Why did he feel the need to ignore this when it would only come back to hurt him even more later on when you were gone?
"You're the smartest man I know and we both know where this is heading," You said, head feeling much heavier than before. It was getting closer to your time. "I'm going to die, and you can't do anything about it."
"I'm not leaving your side. We promised to stick together through everything, you can't ask me to leave."
"I guess... But promise me this."
"When I go, stop blaming Elizabeth. It was an accident..." You said sincerely. Albedo wanted to make a fuss about it, tell you he'd never been able to forgive her. But for you, he would try. If it was your list desire, your last wish, he'd make it come true. Though it would be difficult. Accidental or not, she was the reason you were leaving him here, alone.
"Okay, I'll try..." He said honestly.
"Thank you," You said, letting out a shaking breath you had been holding for a very long time. Now you felt much more peaceful. "And since I know you stubbornly won't leave," You started, finally turning away from the sink to look into his cerulean eyes. "At least hold my hand."
"Of course, love."
even a year after your death, no matter how hard he tried, there was still this nagging feeling every time he looked at Elizabeth
he wanted too badly forgive her, but he couldn't
she had, although accidental, taken the one person that meant so much to him and he'd never forgive
Albedo is gonna be distant towards everyone he knows and it's completely purposeful
he doesn't like the pitiful gazes that people send his way and he hates that all the captains stared at him at your funeral
obviously, some questioned if he was able to stay in the field
he hadn't taken any time off, even when Jean advised he was welcome and that it would be best
tbh, albedo's going to have a hard time for a while
Xiao
Tumblr media
Why did it have to be you? Why not him? He'd feel much better knowing you could live another day, after all, he'd been living a very long time.
But no, the fallen Archons, Gods, Yaksha had chosen you to join them. He wished that weren't the case
Humans and their pathetic vessels... So weak, he thought. Allowing something like cancer to beat them.
No matter how harsh it sounded, he didn't despise you, no. It wasn't your fault. You didn't ask for this. He just knew that if you were a godly being this wouldn't have happened like this or at least not so soon; Xiao had known Gods that had terminal illnesses to live years. Why couldn't you be like them?
He hated watching you lie there in that bed, immobile, sickly, and tired, and all you could say was that everything was going to be alright, that he'd be alright.
But it wasn't. He wouldn't be okay without you. He would struggle daily, fall deeper into a hole. You were the light of his life, the only light in his life. And you were gone, just like that. Turning external scars into internal ones tattered all over his dying heart.
Xiao for the longest time has been by himself, so the people of Liyue know it'll be harder for him to overcome this, no matter what he says or does to prove otherwise
Zhongli in particular knows how hard this will be for his friend
his first and probably last love, dead, gone in the blink of an eye
he'll continue fighting all the monsters he crosses, becoming even more violent when he does so, trying his best to get rid of this stupid sickly feeling of heartbreak
but it won't go away, no matter what he does, no matter how absurd
he just wants the feeling to go away, he despises that feeling so much
if you have a secret place somewhere, like in the mountains, Zhongli often finds him there, wallowing in invisible self-pity
"You know they wouldn't want you to be like this." Zhongli would say, only trying to help
but it doesn't
it only enrages Xiao, even more, fuels him to push everyone out of his life again instead of letting them in like he'd done in your presence
Scaramouche
Tumblr media
How dare you. How dare you leave him like this. Alone, nonetheless with a toddler to raise who kept crying for her mommy. He couldn't do this without you, he didn't know how to raise a child, speak to her with the gentle care that you did. That was your expertise but now he'd be doing it solo.
And never again would he entrust someone who he cares about, into ignorant, incompetent arms. Never again will he ever allow any member of the Fatui to watch after his daughter; no matter their rank or position. They had one job while he was away doing business in Liyue. Guard your home twenty-four seven, accompany you into Inazuma's port town should you need anything, watch after his daughter while she plays happily in the luscious Inazuma fields. And they couldn't do that. All he gave them was one simple task, watch and keep you and your daughter safe. Instead, they slacked off, probably drunk in some bar while you were being brutally attacked by murderous mercenaries, left to fend for you and your daughter, only to die protecting her and leave your home to be severely burned.
He knew those idiotic Fatui soldiers were incompetent the moment he stepped foot into the harbor and found that everyone seemed to quiet down. Especially the eerily silent soldiers flanked on each side to welcome him home; he was the highest-ranking soldier in the land of Inazuma after all. Not a single one bothered to step forward and tell him what was wrong, what they all criminally allowed happen. Scaramouche only realized what had happened when he was mere minutes away from arriving home, his daughter had come running from his widowed mother's arms, the sight of smoke rising in the air, from the direction of his home. You were nowhere to be seen.
It all happened so fast, in the blink of an eye. His daughter was clinging to his shirt and his mother only stared with tears of pity.
It didn't take long for the puzzle pieces to be put together and before he knew it, Scaramouche was standing in front of his home, part of it burnt to a crisp and black.
He didn't need to ask what happened, he didn't need to know where you were, because he already knew. What he didn't know was who exactly had done this. But he was going to find out, now.
Incompetent, selfish, bastards. They would all pay for this. The lazy piggish Fatui soldiers who he should've never trusted with such a simple task and the thieves who had murdered you. They all had it rightfully coming.
Scaramouche hates the world after he lost you
he hates it so much and can't understand how this had happened
he's not a good person, so he blames it on karma and those stupid idiots who couldn't protect you
ngl, he's not gonna be around much after your death... his mother would argue that he should be here to raise your daughter, because she's also in pain and doesn't understand that this isn't some game of hide and seek this time
instead, he's focused and driven by revenge
he doesn't listen to a word anybody says, he's much more dangerous than before, and he only trusts his judgment
anyone trying to get him to stop his mission, is someone who doesn't want to see him happy he thinks (though that's not true at all. they hate that he is obsessive over this) but he will personally put a stop to that
and he'll only return home to his daughter and mother when he finds who did this and they along with their bloodline is exterminated
while he's gone, the remainder of his family is relocated somewhere he knows they'll be safe, for example, even though he despises childe, he knows his mom and daughter will be safe with his family
sorry, but Scaramouche will hold this deep-rooted hatred and love for you after you die
yes, he still loves and misses you dearly, but he hates you for leaving him alone, hates that although it wasn't intentional and out of your control, that you were gone
no matter how hard you tried to fight, it was selfish of you to leave him like this
he's not going to stop until he believes whoever was behind this is dead
and in his case, he'll stop believing when he chooses, even if they are innocent/guilty, he'll keep going

hello, just wanted to tell you how wonderful your work is, keep it up and keep rocking :) I was wondering if you could do a yandere Peter Parker x reader oneshot where the reader has powers and she's completely badass? But she kinda has self esteem issues and thinks her feelings aren't important. I'm sorry if I made you sad TvT
I will try my best! And thank you so much for the compliments ♡
Silent Shadow. That’s what she was. At least that’s what it was before the Avengers came. She was a assassin for a group called Hydra. Hydra was all she knew and that’s all she thought there was for her. She was there strongest asset, she was even able to rake down the Winter Soldier. She had beaten every hydra agent in a fight and she had many skills. You’d think she would just run away since she was able to overthrow them but Hydra made sure she would have no one to go to outside of them so they killed her parents and took her. She was alone. At least that was until she grew a relationship with her partner. A platonic one. She thought she had no one.
Until the day they showed up.
“Cap, how’s it looking out there? Need Code Green?” Bruce said from inside the quinjet.
“No, I think we are good Bruce. Tony is taking out the rest alongside Thor. Guess this base wasn’t as important.” Cap replied through the coms. It was true. It was a pretty easy mission, that was until they went towards the cells.
Bucky Barnes alongside Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver got rid of every Hydra Agent in the cells. At least the thought they did until they reach the very end cell with a complex lock. Bucky nodded at Wanda and she quickly used her powers to undo the lock.
Once inside they see a girl. She looked around 16 years old. Bucky froze.
Another assassin.
He knew her.
He rushed to the cyrochamber and opened it to the dismay of the team. They didn’t need another Hydra Soldier to deal with but he was not going to leave her in there. Steve walked into the room and saw him opening the chamber.
“What are you doing Buck?”
“I’m getting her out of here.” He spoke leaving no room for arguments.
“What if she’s dangerous?”
“I know her. She was my partner. She never wanted this. She always fought.”
“How do you know she will still fight?”
“I don’t.”
and finally it was open and he grabbed her then made his way back to the quinjet. The team that didn’t go to the cells were already there.
Tony was the first to notice Barnes carrying a girl.
“What do you got there?”
“...” Bucky didn’t respond. He wouldn’t explain back at the compound. He just wanted her to wake up. He wanted his little sister back.
Back at the compound
Her senses slowly came back to her and she woke up to her hand resting in somebody’s. She opened her eyes and saw.... Bucky! She lightly shook his hand making him shoot up.
“Doe!”
(I thought Doe would be a cute nickname since it forms from the only name they know which is Shadow.)
“Snowy!” She said happily. She was free. She was with her older brother. Everything would be okay.
And it was. For awhile. They took a blood test from her and found out she was Tony’s missing sister who was taken after the car crash with her parents. Her name was Y/N but some still called her Shadow or Doe in Bucky case. She didn’t blame Bucky but he sure blamed himself but he wouldn’t let himself cut her out of his life because of guilt. She developed relationships with the team. Tony and Bucky were her protective older brothers, Steve, Bruce, Clint and Thor were like uncles. Natasha was her aunt. Pietro and Wanda were like siblings. Then there was the day she met Peter. She had finally worked back up her courage and bravery, not to mention her cunningness. She was herself again, just more confident than before the accident. She walked around in stride, almost matching up to Natasha. She would work on her powers with Wanda and then make sure to spend time with her family.
He had come over to the tower after hearing about the new person at the tower from Tony. He had invited Peter to come over and meet his sister, Peter being addicted to pleasing his idol said of course and made his way over.
He was of course expecting a older woman since he knew Tony’s parents had died many many years ago, he was not prepared to see her.
Peter made his way up the elevator of the expensive tower after telling Jarvis what floor he wanted to be on. The elevator opened and there the team was in all their glory sitting on the couch waiting for him and the other guest to be ready.
“Hello Man of spider!” Thor boomed loudly as Peter stepped out of the elevator. Peter waved shyly at Thor and the others followed with their hellos. After a little more waiting Tony was impatient and called his sister to come down.
“Alright, Alright I’m coming! I didn’t even take that long! It would take longer to say your full title thing you like to say about yourself. Isn’t Genius, Billionaire Playboy, Kiss ass?” She smirked as she walked into the room. Peters eyes widened.
She was Tony Stark’s sister?
“Who’s did you want me to meet?” She questioned her brother as she smiled at him cheekily after forgetting the name of the person for the billionth time.
Tony rolled his eyes but he couldn’t stay mad at the sister who came back miraculously from the dead.
“Peter meet Y/N my little sister and Y/N meet Peter Parker aka Spider-boy.” Tony introduced and Peter stepped forwards almost in a daze and held out his when to shake formally.
“Nice to meet you.” Y/N said cheekily as he continued staring. He lightly shook his head and blushed embarrassedly.
“Nice to meet you too.”
She was more confident now away from hydra and he liked her personality.
And it truly was because that was the day that started his obsession with the one and the only
Y/N Stark.
He always came over to the tower to hang out with her as they had grown to be friends but Peter wanted more. Sometimes he came over and stalked her outside of the windows. Peter had hacked the tower from the inside to not detect him as Spider Man on the outside of the tower. Whenever he was in her room he’d touch everything he could and he secretly undid the latch to her window. He snuck into her room every night just to watch her sleep, watching as her chest raised and called from her steady breathing . He took pictures of her whenever he spied and had a secret collection of them filling his closest. He had even entered the room when the other Avengers had decided to run to the store for groceries dressed in their typical jacket, sunglasses, and baseball hats disguises. He cuddled into her blankets and breathed in her scene as he held into her pillow.
He was undeniably in love with Y/N Stark.
And he wanted her to be his.
His plan was soon put into action. He knew her schedules, wasn’t too hard she was required to stay at home as it was too dangerous because of Hydra.
One day he just got lucky, the team had to go out on a mission and she was required to stay home but Tony didn’t want her by herself so he called his trusted intern, Peter Parker. He was asked to go over to the tower to keep Y/N company and he immediately said yes.
And the day started off as usual for Y/N. She woke up and had breakfast, then sat by the tv watching her favorite show Once Upon A Time. She always like watching it because the character Jefferson reminded her of Bucky. She was halfway into episode 16 when Peter arrived in the Elevator.
“Hey Peter!” She called from the couch. She didn’t even look at him. It made him slightly mad. He should be her one and only. Not the stupid tv show.
“Hey Y/N.” He replied after he got over his anger.
“What do you want to do?” She questioned looking at him with a eyebrow raised.
“There are so many things I’d like to do.” He thought to himself but restrained from saying.
“It’s up to you.” He replied shortly continuing to think through his plan. He was confident it would go right if he followed each direction.
They went to the gym and she began to work on her powers while Peter watched her intently. He needed to know her powers if things were to go south with his plans. She first turned invisible then made force fields.
She continued to make the force fields bigger and Peter had to continue to back up to avoid getting hit with it. He began to get too far away. He also didn’t want her to thing that she could push him away like this.
“Y/N stop. You need to get food in you before you continue practicing. Your low on energy.” He faked looking concerned in order to manipulate her to feel bad. Of course she was usually defiant but she just wanted Peter to be happy. So she gave in.
“Alright.” He nodded in praise at her giving in. He knew how to get her now. She needed to please others. Probably a side effect from Hydra but it could be used to his advantage.
They then began baking... well more like Peter while she watched he made her sit down after he was worried about her burning herself. She needed to be taken care of. He also didn’t need her catching onto his plan, taking a pill out from his pocket and crushed it onto the cupcake he was going to give her. It looked like sugar. After being at hydra you’d think she would check her food before she ate. But she didn’t. She had to trust Peter of course. That’s what her brother wanted from her. She felt bad not being able to help around the tower. She felt as if she wasn’t contributing enough. Y/N thought it would help if she did what she thought was expected of her, not what she wanted. She wanted to bake. But if Peter didn’t want her to then she couldn’t deny it.
Then they watched tv but Peter hated it because again her attention was somewhere else. Halfway through Star Wars he turned off the tv and waited for it to work.
Just as he looked at her he could see her eyes be going to droop.
“Oh Y/N are you tired?” He questioned with fake concern.
“Oh, I am. Just a little bit. I slept well last night-“ she was cut off by a yawn. “I don’t know why I’m so tired. I’m sorry Peter. I knew you came over to hang out.”
“It’s fine Y/N. Just got to sleep.”
Just as he said that her eyes shut and he smiled victoriously. She was his. And she wasn’t ever going to leave.
He picked her up bridal style and took her into her room and sat her down on the bed while he changed into his Spider-Man uniform and packed her some clothes. They wouldn’t be coming back here. After packing clothes into a small back pack he picked her up once again and they went swinging out of the tower with Jarvis not even alerted because of Peter hacking it before to not detect his suit.
He arrived at a small house in the middle of the woods and carefully opened the door and brought her inside. Peter glanced around the rooms just in case then sat her in the bed, attaching a chain to her ancle. The clasp part of the chain had a little padding so it wasn’t hurting her but it did keep her there. He kissed her on the head and quickly changed out of his suit. Then got into the bed wearing boxers climbing in next to the sleeping girl. He wrapped a arm around her waist and sighed content.
She was finally his.
The Avengers got back to the tower and saw no one there. No struggle. Nothing.
Tony Lost his sister. Again.
Bucky lost his little sister. Again.
And
Peter had taken the love of his life to be all his.
At least until they check the tapes.
Sorry it’s taken me forever to write this. This was my first shot at a Yandere and I hope it’s good. Sorry if I should have done less back story and more Peter but I hope you like it. Anyways thank you for the suggestion. ♡

Fabio Blue Nose
Tumblr media
Aaaargh, this was supposed to be a short, but it has demanded to be longer and I’ve run out of time. I did not want another WIP!
But anyway, here be Fabio Blue Nose, or a start of some kind at least. I hope you enjoy this random fluff so far.
Many thanks to @tsarinatorment and @janetm74 for their support.
It should also be noted that no sea shanties were harmed in the creation of this fic. Nor are their any sea shanties in it, despite there being an urge to add one.
Aaaargh, it is 12.45am. I gotta go sleep, damnit.
-o-o-o-
The first time was an accident.
None of the brothers owned up to it but chances were it was Gordon, no matter how many times he swore complete innocence.
Though, come to think of it, Scott was rather more compliant than expected, so Virgil threw a little unspoken suspicion his way as well.
But anyway, it happened and it was a good thing.
There was always press at rescues that they could reach. Scott was fully aware of the importance of the media, particularly where communication and, to a certain extent, promotions were concerned. But when they got in the way of a rescue, the commander was well known to be intolerant.
This particular time, however, the press was managed by the GDF who were also onsite due to the scale of the disaster and possible sabotage, so International Rescue didn’t have to worry about them so much while they dug fifty miners out of a kilometre deep hole.
All but John were on the rescue. All but John were dirty, sweaty and ever so tired. There had been a chunk of rock that had needed demolition charges to get through, causing enough headache that even Virgil had been heard to spit profanity over comms when one of the charges misfired and nearly took his head off with shrapnel in the tunnel.
Eleven of the fifty men didn’t make it and there was some body recovery after the far too many trips it took to get them all back to the surface. In short, it had been an ugly, hard day. All the Tracys just wanted to go home and disappear into whatever distraction worked best for them.
Scott had to liaise with the GDF regarding red tape and reporting circumstances in the mine...that they should probably go down and see for themselves instead of relying on a civilian rescue organisation to do their dirty work for them. But whatever the reason, Virgil, Gordon and Alan were left to pack up and wait while all the dots and crosses were applied to appropriate Ts and Is.
It took longer than expected.
Virgil, sporting an aching shoulder, was reduced to pacing the length of Two’s open hatch. He should just take his brothers home and leave Scott to tackle the GDF.
But Scott was just as tired as they were and he had only just returned from another rescue when this callout came in. His big brother was exhausted and Virgil feared that if he left him behind they might end up a few GDF personnel short before the sun went down.
And the press were watching.
It was probably at this point the photo was taken.
It was iconic, even Virgil had to admit it. Emotive and made a statement about who they were and what they did.
The shot was from a forty-five degree angle, using a zoom lens that caught every detail of Two’s open module. Virgil stood in the middle of the ramp, paused mid-pace and staring off at something, probably Scott, in the distance. The shadow of Two in the evening light had his head in shadow, adding a heroic seriousness to his expression.
That alone was dramatic, but behind him from the camera angle, sitting on the top of the ramp to one side of the open hatch were Gordon and Alan.
Gordon had his arm around his little brother as they both stared in the same direction as Virgil. All three brothers were grimy and exhausted, Alan’s head was resting on Gordon’s shoulder.
It must have been an extraordinary lens to capture the detail because the media were fenced off a considerable distance away, but there was enough clarity to see one tear track in the dust on Alan’s face.
Their littlest brother claimed he had scratched his cheek, but they all knew better.
So, yes, this photo was taken and thrown across the planet as an illustration of three heroes of International Rescue.
There were rave reviews. Whole swaths of text praising everything their organisation did, what had been achieved that day and what had been achieved in the past. Inevitably, the history of International Rescue did the rounds again, their father’s legacy and all that. An unfortunate reminder of both the parents they had lost in the process. Being proud didn’t negate the pain that came along with it.
But due to the quirkiness of human attention, none of the above was the source of the impact the photo finally had.
It wasn’t Thunderbird Two or any of the three brothers photographed that captured most of the public’s attention.
It was a teddy bear.
Virgil kept a number of cuddly toys on Two. Some he had knitted himself, or purchased, a few were donated, but all were kept and given to children and occasionally adults, who were terrified during a rescue or evacuation and found themselves secured in Two’s module.
Perhaps the bear had fallen out of its storage, perhaps one of the brothers had shoved it aside. Whatever had happened, in the iconic photograph of three hardworking Tracy brothers, right at the back, inside the module sat a dark grey teddy bear with a blue nose and shiny eyes that caught the setting sun.
Staring right at the camera.
And the world went nuts for this bear.
It took less than a day for the fame of the teddy bear to become enough to alert Thunderbird Five and, in turn, roust Virgil out of bed - it’s lunchtime, Virgil, time enough to wake up.
Virgil’s answer to that was clear, precise and rated for adults only.
John triggered the coffee maker in the kitchen to start working its magic before his brother busted up something other than the English language.
Eventually, Virgil made it down to Two and dug out the bear responsible.
It was still sitting on top of the storage locker, which added kudos to Virgil’s flying skill.
He was going to shove it back into the locker when John asked him not to. Apparently, the bear had a following on social media.
So, Virgil picked it up and took it back up to the comms room. He placed it beside him at their father’s desk and pulled up a search screen and typed in ‘bear’ and ‘International Rescue’. He could, of course, ask John to forward him whatever his brother had obviously found, but he didn’t.
The search results that sprung up made it very clear that the world was most definitely obsessed with that bear.
There were zoomed in pictures of the inside of the module – a fact that had Virgil a little worried regarding security until he realised that anything that could possibly be compromised was just that little bit blurred. No doubt that was Eos at work. Probably snared the original photo before it could perpetuate.
But even then it was obvious that the posters had no interest in the technology. Several photos had the bear circled in red.
Various comments attempted to give reasons as to why the bear was there. The explanations were rather fantastical in the majority. A few were actually disturbing and linked Alan’s tear track to the bear – Virgil threw that bit of information at Thunderbird Five and that line of thought suddenly disappeared from the results. Some suggested the photograph was posed, a few mentioned that Thunderbird Two did carry such things and that was followed by a wave of genuine thanks and admiration for what they did…and then completely ignored when more fascinating ideas were presented.
Virgil was quite frankly amazed at what people could concoct from a photograph of a bear.
Said bear sat and stared at him the entire time. Its nose was very blue.
But ultimately the outcome that had occurred somewhere between all four brothers making it home last night and the time John dragged Virgil out of bed, Fabio Blue Nose had become a mascot for International Rescue.
Yes, ‘Fabio’.
Some inspired person had mentioned ‘F.A.B.’ as IR’s callsign and it went downhill from there.
Fabio stared at Virgil almost accusingly. His curly fur was a shade darker than Scott’s baldric and his eyes as golden as Gordon’s. His blue nose shone in the sunlight.
They had a teddy bear with a fan base, fan art and a dash of fan fiction.
Virgil caught his own name in one of them and shut it down so fast the browser crashed.
It didn’t help that an hour later Gordon found the same story and promptly paraded it around the villa for all to see and hear whether they wanted to or not. Apparently, because Virgil was the pilot of Thunderbird Two, Fabio was his crewmate.
A very heroic crewmate at that.
Could a teddy bear really rappel down a grapple like that?
He shook his head and threw a lounge cushion at his brother’s head. He really didn’t need to know.
But in any case, they now had a mascot that wasn’t Alan.
Gordon was hit in the head again for that assessment.
So, Fabio found his way to being sat on Two’s dash and accompanying them out on rescues.
The second photo was more than they had ever expected.

How do the axis and the allies know that their s / o is the one?
Ah yes- everyone's favorite question! I always liked the idea of a Character being all serious face, and then either looking shocked, or completely melt over their new found feelings!
Trigger Warnings: Slight mention of minor violent behavior, and mention of invasive thoughts
Allies and Axis find the one! (Their S/O)
Allies:
America:
Is was on one of their field trips.
His S/O became obsessed with a certain place in America, and he vowed to help cross it off their bucket list.
Even though it was the umpteenth time seeing them smile, it felt different.
His face blushed and all he could see was his S/O in the lightening.
Their movements, no matter how fluid or clumsy, seemed to radiate their excitement.
There was just something about it that made America momentarily forget what he was doing.
Something in him wanted to capture this moment and he pulled them in for a selfie.
Even after the moment passed, whenever he looked at that picture, it gave him that slight buzz he felt from when the picture was taken.
Driving to the designated location with every love song that played forced the scenerio in his mind.
Then all at once, as his face turned red, he realized how badly he wanted to have them by his side for the rest of their life.
England
It was another fancy party his boss made him go to. His S/O decided to stay at his place for whatever reason, and assured him they'd be fine without him for a few hours.
But he wasn't.
Every woman who passed by in a flowing dress, or every man who just looked particularly good made him think of his S/O, dressed to the nines in their own style, more than certainly becoming the center of attention.
But then that fantasy fades the longer it lasted. He started thinking about how everyone's eyes would hunger for his S/O and it made him feel off.
He didn't recover until he got home, his S/O greeting them at the door in messy pajamas, some food stuck to their cheek.
Right there did England's heart flip and his face grew flush.
He felt a nervous, but serine, sensation take him over.
Seeing his Love in their own element, not caring for any fancy clothing, or heavy make up to show him upon returning made him realize just how much he desired them. No matter the form, or outfit he just loved them, and all they were, and will be.
France:
France considered himself to be easy to fall for, so for a small while his S/O was just another woman who desired him.
Though he thought the world of his S/O (and those before them) he just always assumed they wouldn't last, no matter how much money, or fancy parties and outfits they were given. They'd just leave.
But time and time again his S/O had him stunned by how little they wanted from him, material wise.
He didn't mean to fall so hard, and so quickly, but he did. Seeing their independence, but also seeing their want for him confused him.
He knew what he was feeling due to all the one sided love he's had for a few others. And it scared him.
He'd know the whole time his true feelings, but wanted to be sure his S/O felt the same. Even if it meant waiting till their last breath.
What really put the nail in the coffin was when they asked him how he felt about their relationship. He was prepared for a break up until his Darling started to giggle.
He knew they'd be his forever when they said something about being lost without him. Their serious look striking through his heart. He had to fight with them that night, beg even, to let him spoil them in anything they wanted.
China:
He can be a prideful kind of guy, even he knows it. It's just, he's been around for so long, and knows the outcome of most scenerios due to all of his years of experiencing life, he's just... Stopped caring about how he comes off to others.
This had led to many people coming in, and quickly going out of his life. No matter the optimism they showed for being with him, it quickly vanished.
But not for his S/O.
It was one day in particular he was being a bit... Rude to his S/O. The argument was over something incredibly small, but as usual china felt otherwise.
He was taken a back when his S/O accused him of purposely trying to push them away, despite the hardwork they put in the relationship.
He immediately froze on the spot and couldn't mutter another word other than a brief apology. Claiming to needed air to calm down.
Once he calmed down he realized they were right. They have been bending over backwards and it made him feel guilty. But then his heart started to beat. The fact they tried so hard, and for him, made him feel something new.
He didn't want them to be anything than what he fell in love with, and by going above and beyond for him did they seem to almost become a stranger to him.
He then got despirate and ran to his S/O, admitting his new feelings on the spot. He didn't want to lose the person he loves so dearly, just because he didn't know how to swallow his pride sometimes.
Russia:
His S/O knew it was going to be a rough ride being with Russia. Between the physical affection, both public and private, and the odd mood swings he has had, it was obvious it was going to take him longer to feel about them, as they did him. But that was fine.
Russia on the other hand did know what he wanted, and what he liked. Ivan's issue was sifting through those emotions and trying to figure out which ones were okay, and which ones would scare off his S/O.
He decided to land on 'learning by example'. If his S/O wanted a hug, he can give hugs. They cried? He tried to sympathize and thought of things that hurt him, and also cried. Though he had a habit of accidentally taking the attention off of his S/O when that happens.
Only later on realizing it and feeling dumb or guilty, but not wanting to bring it up since his S/O recovered.
Oh but the biggest thing that made him want to hang onto them was the one or two accidents where he got a little... Agressive and panicked, accidentally hurt his S/O in the process.
The first time it happened was when a misunderstanding escalated Because he just, couldn't communicate his thoughts and his S/O pushed to far, only wanting to help. He bruised them by the throat when he grabbed them to try and keep them away for their own safety. Not meaning to grab their neck, he just grabbed for them in general, really aiming for their shirt. But they never left him after that.
The second incident they caught him clawing at some scars, weeping painfully. No one else has seen him like that and he panicked. He trapped them in a corner, and threatened them to never say a single thing, but his S/O reached out for him to try and console him, but it ended in more bruising when he pushed them away, thinking they were Reaching out to leave him. But they never left...
They never left. They had told him countless times that it was just an accident. But how many accidents could his Sunflower take? He only started forgiving himself when they mentioned how each time he panicked like that, he became better at expressing himself, via a bit agressively with his words. But now.
He never realized he wasn't as upset whenever his S/O and him run into a misunderstanding. It was then he realized they didn't plan on leaving, and it was then he realized he wanted the same thing they did, and decided to strive to get better. Even if it meant asking for help...
Axis:
Germany:
He's always so stressed out and annoyed by all the work his Boss dumps on him. He is so overwhelmed he forgot a few documents in his home office.
Before he could ever really get concern his phone buzzed.
His S/O had called him to ask about the exact papers he needed for that day's meeting. He blushed as his S/O mentioned how quickly he left the house, and was concerned he'd forgotten something other than locking his office like he usually does.
He couldn't even get upset that his S/O snooped in his office when he left. He was too flattered that his S/O's immediate thought was whether or not he had everything.
Over the phone he was able to get the information he needed, and after swearing to secrecy, he let his S/O hang up.
During the meeting he was particularly distracted by those hand written notes. If it wasn't for how caring his S/O was he'd have been in deep trouble.
Then it got him. He felt warm, and fuzzy as he came across the thought "They must love me that much-" and it struck him a certain way.
He knew they were dating, and were close but up until now the word love only had so much weight to it. Now it was both words and actions, and he wants to make sure his S/O feels just like he did. He wants them to know exactly how much he's fallen for them, and perhaps how he will never stop falling for them.
Japan:
Japan is another one who takes a while to get close too.
He doesn't mean to be so anti-affectionate it's just, he's so anxious about the world around him sometimes.
Being a country isn't all it's cracked up to be but his S/O already knew that.
That was one of the things he loved about him... Oh.
He knew he had feelings, but as time went by he didn't realize how much they grew. He never really said 'I Love You'. Despite his S/O saying it often enough, he'd usually give a soft smile and nod.
Then he face palmed at how much of a jerk he's been. Immediately he had the urge to go talk about it and apologize, but the closer he got to his S/O the more the word 'love' bounced around in his head.
He loved them. He loved them? Yeah. This is a new and Terrifying thing he's experiencing.
With sweaty palms and a clear throat the only thing he could ask was "Do you love me?" Causing his S/O to blush and giggle.
He slowly grew mortified at the situation. His S/O told him that, of course they loved him! But what they said next surprised him, and made him internally melt.
"But you don't have to say it if you can't. I just wanted you to know that no matter how long it takes, I'm still here for you..."
His chest swelled and despite not being able to show his full affection, it was certainly pushing at the seams, ready to burst.
Italy:
He wasn't shy with women, or men, and loved giving others attention as much as receiving it. But some days he's just, Too exhausted and just wants to be alone for a bit.
Though seeing his S/O is always a welcoming sight. The way he treated his S/O versus how he flirts with others made it increasingly obvious that he only flirted out of habit.
Though while alone he slowly felt guilty about it. Then he started wondering why his S/O was still around. Then other thoughts about him and his flaws started getting to him.
He lazily walked to his S/O, quiet and shy about his question. And when he asked why they stayed he was surprised by their confused.
"Because I love you?"
Oh yeah. Then he smiled and went for a hug but something about the way they held him made him feel different?
It wasn't a normal hug. They didn't pull away and they both stood there. Italy's excitement faded again once he realized they were comforting him.
It almost made him cry, but his heart was beating too fast, and in that moment it felt like his S/O knew everything about him. He felt loved but not understood before this.
And it made him want to never let them go.
Tada~ I know some of them are kind of sad, but relationships aren't always fluffy clouds and marshmellos. Sometimes the greatest realizations come from learning curves and heat of the moment scenerios. With that said, it's not just about following your heart. Sometimes it's just recognizing the thing you truly desire is already right there. As long as it's for the better, and as long as your willing to give equal work towards your futures!

For someone that was so obsessed with playing into "abuse victim" plot lines for characters that didn't need it, including making Shaw's ex his abuse victim when that was never the case in canon, Duggan completely ignored that with Shinobi and now he threw the whole chance out of the window. That was a story that needed and wanted to be told, it could have been so interesting and powerful, but no...we just needed the creepy little blonde girl getting her storyline I guess.
Sorry I'm just super salty, I found out about this by accident, I wasn't reading Marauders at all, I checked Shinobi's tag and it was a shocking surprise.
Don't be sorry for being super salty, there's loads of reason to be! I'm sorry this took me a little bit to get to, my brain has pretty much checked out for the night so I just needed some time to chill before getting back to Tumblr. Anyway, answer under a cut both for length and because I'm sure my mutuals are sick by now of my ranting about this--
Yeah, there's really no addressing of the abuse. The most acknowledgement we get is Shaw admits that taking Shinobi in was "disastrous for us both. Especially you." which is OOC in that Shaw is admitting wrongdoing. And of course the story about how Shinobi's mom wanted money and so Shaw, despite apparently KNOWING that Shinobi wasn't his or at least knowing there was a chance, just took him on as his because "I thought it was the right thing to do" which makes no sense in general (why would HARRY taking responsibility be wrong???) and also makes no sense for Shaw. It's so weird how even when Duggan is writing Shaw in a more positive way, it's still OOC. A friend say it was because Shaw doesn't actually have a consistent personality under Duggan, just whatever Duggan needs him to be at the moment. He needs him to be a completely incompetant fool? That's what he is. Until he needs him to be competant enough to eliminate Kate. But then he needs to be incompetant again so Kate and Emma can wipe the floor with him. He needs to be a worse person than he normally is so that we can have the Lourdes retcon, but then suddenly better so that we can have this scene. It's ridiculous. Back to Shinobi, it's like. . .I feel like this is meant as a resolution for Shin, as if this just makes everything better for him now that it turns out, oh, his bio-dad is nice and the guy who abused him wasn't blood related to him! Which is....absurd. Firstly, there's the whole problematic fairytale trope of "oh OF COURSE his abuser couldn't be his REAL father" and then secondly...ok, so what? His issues are still the same. This solves nothing. In better hands, it could be the start of some kind of arc maybe, but Duggan isn't that, and the series is nearly at a close anyways. Like I said earlier, I think a much better story would be Shinobi himself doing a DNA test in HOPES that Harry---or anyone else---is his father, but it comes out Sebastian every time. He's really distraught. He doesn't tell anyone, because it's not IC for him to, but in spending time with Christian and getting hints about his own dad---which Christian drops because he can sense the signs with Shin and Seb---he eventually opens up about it. And Christian explains to him how his relationship with his dad, mom, and two of his three sisters is absolute shit, and he feels no need to repair it or please them even if they WEREN'T dead, because you don't owe people who hurt you anything and it doesn't matter that Shaw is his bio-dad, he doesn't owe him now. Shin doesn't change immediately, of course. Years of internalized abuse issues don't go away because of a pretty speech. But as he starts spending more and more time with the Marauders in general, he develops the personal connections and support network he never had before, and that gives him the strength and self-esteem he needs to start asking himself why he's really here at his father's side---is it just for personal gain? Or is he still desperately trying to please daddy? Why should he endure this? We could get, like, an actual character arc! Which...approximately no one has had in this series. But Duggan hates writing actual interaction between the secondary cast so it's just "oh no it's fine dude turns out the bad man was never really ur daddy and now you get a better one, yay! done" and it's just. . .such shit storytelling. With my version, we could build on stuff already established about Shin (abuse issues, his difficulty making friends, his loneliness and overcoming his shitty behavior so that he can make/keep friends) and also have him really interact with the other characters, in turn developing them, like the aforementioned stuff with Christian, or maybe we learn stuff about Pyro's background and why he was raised by his gran, etc. You could really get a great "found family" theme going, not to mention actually develop the romance hints going on with him and Christian. And it's not like there hasn't been TIME for that! But, as you said, it's been spent on utterly absurd, irrelevant other things. Like, what does it MATTER that Lourdes was alive all along? What did it MATTER about stupid little Wilhemina? I of all people, of course, am HERE for revisiting forgotten characters (Lourdes) or giving depth to 2D baddies (Wilhemina) but not when you've got a big secondary cast full of potential that you're ignoring for these completely pointless stories. It's just bad writing. Like, even if you took all my own personal biases about Shaw and such out of it, it's still bad writing in general.
Anyway, thanks for dropping in, friend! I absolutely understand your salt and I share it! I really hate that Duggan gives me a lot of things I wanted---Lourdes revisited, Harry brought back, Harry hugging Shinobi---but in the worst way. It's just....I cannot with the irony.

And here we are, all caught up. You'll notice I fell into a bit of a Chinese drama and historical hole for these last ones! I will try to post as I finish shows so I can give a bit more of a review. Enjoy!
A love so romantic (Cdrama)-Girl pretends to be a long lost granddaughter of the Gu family and falls for the Gu family heir. 8/10 Very funny. The last ten episodes get a bit annoying with dumb amnesia and such, but overall really funny main couple.
The Greatest Love (Kdrama)-An A-list movie star with a heart condition meets former girl group member and now most disliked celebrity. Against all odds, he falls for her. 9/10 This is extremely funny and a bit tropey, but it gets major bonus points for the ending. There's no crazy amnesia or unreasonable misunderstandings. Their dilemma at the end makes sense and wasn't dragged out for too long. There was a bit in the middle where she was trying to reject him that dragged for me and I didn't like the other girl group members very much. But overall, really fun.
The Rebel Princess (Cdrama)-A princess is forced to marry a general turned prince instead of her childhood sweetheart prince. They ultimately fall for each other and endure war, kidnapping, betrayal, and every other kind of misfortune that can happen in a historical drama. 9/10 This drama was refreshing because the couple was so amazing together. They were kind as well as cunning. They were the only characters not seeking power and I just loved the way they worked. It does get a little draggy during some of the palace politics. I also think some of the villians didn't think through their plans. But overall, the leads made the show. Although there are some genuinely heartbreaking moments and too many women committing suicide.
Love Script (Cdrama)- A CEO gets into an accident and believes he's a Prince from the Ming Dynasty. A psychologist is hired and she becomes part of the palace staff in order to treat him. But she begins to fall for him. 8/10 I liked all the characters. It's a really light show and there's a couple of plot twists that ultimately made the lead romance work for me. There were a few too many flashbacks and I found myself skipping through them a lot.
A Girl Like Me (Cdrama)- Ban Hua has three failed engagements, partially because of her blunt manner and explosive temper. She begins getting visions of the future and uses them to save her family from trouble, along with Rong Xia who has his own agenda...but will he be distracted by Ban Hua!? 8.5/10 I really liked this one. The story moved along rather quickly. I love that the Ban family are perfectly happy in their little sphere of life. They adore each other and simply want their family to be happy. The only real negatives are that I don't think some of the villain plots made sense especially toward the end and I thought the last two episodes should have wrapped up the story not made more characters power hungry and foolish. Overall, I really liked it, especially Ban Hua and Rong Xia's banter and courtship.
My little happiness (Cdrama)-An intern lawyer and a successful neurosurgeon who were childhood sweethearts meet again as adults only she never knew his name. Watch the duo fall in love. 8/10 This is a pleasant little ditty with no big problems. The relationship between the main girl and her best friend feels super real to me. I love both main couples. It's a simple sweet sappy love story. There's never any doubt how it will end so just enjoy the sweetness.
Oh! My Sweet Liar! (Cdrama)-Historical- A female painter infiltrates the home of a noble family to paint a copy of a precious item. When her escape goes wrong, she fakes a pregnancy by the family heir to save her life. They make a contract marriage so he can escape an arranged marriage he doesn't want. But there are secrets and plotting people throughout the family home. 8.5/10 I really liked the majority of the show. It was a bit slow the second arc of the show and really the last three eps could have been a bit more streamlined, but I loved the Li family. It was so nice to see the love between the family.
Shopaholic Louis (Kdrama)- A wealthy heir gets amnesia and is found by a poor country girl newly arrived in Seoul to look for her brother. The two fall for each other while searching together. 8.5/10 Super cute. I loved the main couple the whole way through. The side characters grew on me as well. It was a nice sweet story overall.
Love in Time-Cdrama- Writer and a CEO were friends in Jr high but had a falling out. Present day they enter a contract marriage. 8/10 A point bump for 30 minute episodes. The story was sweet and simple with a few pleasant turns. The last episode is a bit dumb. I would've rather just had more epilogue than a faked amnesia plot. I liked the side friendships, but wish the "villain" had a better motivation. Just " I loved him and worked hard for him so he should be mine" obsession got old. The tropes were in full display so avoid if you hate those.
Love and Destiny-Cdrama- A young immortal wanders into the wrong place and awakens the God of War. He discovers a secret about her even she doesn't know. The two fall in love, but bad things happen. Can they overcome destiny with love? 7/10- This one seemed to be a bit long at 60 episodes and it took WAY too long to get started. But by episode 14 or 15 I was completely into the love story and most of the side characters. The two "villains" were annoying but ultimately I understood their choices even if I felt they were immature. Overall, it's good, but a little too slow in some places and the last ten episodes could have given me some more couple moments.
Divorce lawyer in love (Kdrama)- She's a tough as nails divorce lawyer and he's her office manager until she goes to far in a case and her license is suspended. Three years later she's the office manager and he's the lawyer and he sees his chance for some payback.. Enemies to friends to lovers. 8/10 It has its funny moments. I enjoy most of the "case of the week" stories. I thought the resolution to the main antagonist was a bit hand wavy, but overall, solid and enjoyable with mostly fun side characters.
The Sword and the Brocade (Cdrama)- A concubine's daughter marries a Marquis in an arranged marriage. She has to deal with conniving concubines, controlling mother and mother-in-law, as well as a family that doesn't want her around, and a rival family all while trying to continue her embroidery career. 7.5/10 Started out fairly strong but toward the end it felt really drawn out. I feel like the last two plots should have been more combined cause it really dragged the pace of the show down. The characters were good. I liked most of the characters a lot, but a few began to make weird decisions toward the end.
The Eternal Love (Cdrama)- Modern woman sucked to alternate past where she has to share her doppelganger's body. The two with the help of their maid try to figure out what's going on. But things are complicated as each soul is in love with a different prince.,-6/10 The story is okay, although the last four episodes are weird. Chemistry with the leads is fabulous. Really not great production quality. I couldn't get through Season 2.
Eternal Love/Ten Miles of Peach Blossom (Cdrama)- Bai Qian and Ye Hua are star crossed immortals who fall in love in three different but intertwined lives. 9.5/10 Started off slow, then got wonderful about ep 10, then pain and misery for a few eps before back to joy and falling in love and back to pain. But one of the best revenge scenes by Bai Qian! I sort of hated that basically every other couple seems doomed. I tried to watch the pillow book before this and just got bored. I may go back to it someday as I love that couple.
General's Lady (Cdrama)- independent noble sent to marry the "demon" general at the border only to fall in love with him. However there are factions trying to harm them. 9/10 Super light and sweet with lots of kisses. I got a bit bored a little past the middle of the drama when they went back to the capital. But the last several episodes brought me back around and I laughed out loud multiple times. Love all the couples throughout and how it showed there were multiple ways to be a strong woman.

Review: 默读 Mò Dú (Silent Reading)
Tumblr media
Notes:
(Very) long post ahead
Contains spoiler
This is my personal review and does not represent the entire audience, you are free to agree or not agree with what I’ve written here
Feel free to reply/send me a message if there are things you want to discuss
Using the Donghua poster because it fits the overall story more than the Audio Drama cover. :'))
Summary:
Yan City is a bright, bustling metropolis filled with all sorts of wonders, all sorts of people. From the richest occupying the city's most prestigious residential areas to the poorest huddling together in rundown slums, from the most fortunate blessed with a life of comfort to the wretched deemed to struggle until their last breath, from the virtuous walking in the path of light to the wicked lurking under the cover of darkness.
There is as much good as there is evil, and days gone by, people coming and going along with the passage of time.
Since their first meeting during a certain case seven years ago, Captain of the City Bureau's Crime Investigation Unit Luo Wenzhou thought he would never see eye to eye with Fei Du, son of a well-known conglomerate who inherited his father's position and wealth after the latter fell into comatose due to a near-fatal accident three years ago.
Words as sharp as knives dyed their bitter exchanges, even their personality was like the heaven and earth; the bold, blunt, and straightforward Luo Wenzhou - and the astute, secretive Fei Du, with his beautiful peach blossom eyes and a smile that is not quite a smile seducing countless people, his very presence seems as if it was covered under layers and layers of deceit.
Every single time they meet, they would always part on bad terms. Yet Luo Wenzhou would never have thought that a seemingly ordinary murder case of an ordinary deliveryman would lead him into the mystery of multiple long forgotten unsolved cases, turning over the Yan City and the City Bureau itself upside down, making him question his faith to those he respected and trust - and along with it, opening a door to the truth of Fei Du's past never once known to others.
STORY: 9/10
At first glance, the overall plot of Silent Reading seems neither extravagant nor exceptional. It's just one of those police drama where the main leads had to wrestle in a battle of wits with the villains looming around them, struggling to outsmart each other and eventually, bringing justice to those who deserve it.
But that is exactly what is so good about it. Silent reading could take all of those cliche and packed them into one nerve-wrecking, enticing journey from start to finish, complete with both intense and amusing interactions, and just the right amount of romance that does not disturb the flow of the main story.
And it actually does have its own uniqueness.
In most police dramas I've ever seen, the enemy is usually either a corrupt high-ranking official committing some hideous criminal acts by abusing their authority, or an individual/group with some very extreme values or obsession. Silent Reading, however, have both of those two most general types of villains in the story and what's more? It pits them against each other, pulling around and forcing the main leads to wreck their brains, slowly unravel the tangled mess until the truth finally comes to light.
The action and suspense, the atmosphere, the analysis, everything was almost impeccable to the point of perfection.
I have to especially give my kudos to how the author (Priest) structured the mystery in such a way, connecting one dots to the other from beginning to end. During the first few cases, I thought the resolution of the case didn't feel very solid, as if there are still some details that have yet to be properly elaborated. Yet halfway through, I realize that there is actually a bigger plot that encompass everything, tying all loose ends together.
And here, I would also like to highlight my two most favorite scene.
The first one is in Chapter 114-115 when Luo Wenzhou finally peeled of Fei Du's defense and for the first time exposed his true feelings, making Fei Du faced and spoke what he truly felt for Luo Wenzhou - that he really, actually did care for him. Their entire interactions and development up to this scene fits so well with these two main characters. There was no nonsense, no sappy crying and needless drama. Luo Wenzhou was as blunt as he was desperate and Fei Du, for once, admitted to the truth straight out with his own mouth.
The second one is in Chapter 157. In this case, one of Fei Du's most trusted men and an extremely important witness (that would later become their ally) were being chased and surrounded by thugs hired by their enemy. At this point of the story, the City Bureau was already in turmoil. Luo Wenzhou was suspended, nobody knows who they could or could not trust. Yet still, his subordinates all set out swiftly under his command and followed him to save the two witnesses, appearing at the most critical time.
It was actually a typical scene that exist in many police action drama, but given the development of the story, the well-built character relationship and interactions, I think it is Luo Wenzhou's coolest scene in the entire story and it makes me admire him a lot as the main lead and a leader figure.
One thing that does not quite sit well with me is Fan Siyuan's obsessiveness towards the late Gu Zhao. His motive for the crime was clear and I understand that he was using Gu Zhao's case as an example of injustice. But his extreme emotions whenever Gu Zhao was mentioned seems strange, even baseless. It makes me think whether he considers Gu Zhao as his own family or he was maybe madly in love with Gu Zhao, whereas in the entire story, unless I'm missing something, I have only ever known that Gu Zhao was Fan Siyuan's student - nothing more, nothing less.
CHARACTERS: 9/10
Silent Reading has a balanced, yet still very much appealing casts, from the major characters to the minor ones. Even the suspects and witnesses each had their own distinguishing features that didn't make them look like they were just there as canon fodders.
The composition of Luo Wenzhou's team itself is ideal; they've got the dependable leader, the smart advisor, the best friend and trustworthy right-hand man, the genius nerd, and the dependable aide.
I especially like Tao Ran (and I think most readers would agree with me). While he looks like the typical good guy type, he really, truly is a very good person. It's hard not to find him lovable. His relationship with Chang Ning was as cliche as it could get, but hey, as long as he's happy. Dude deserve it after everything he's done.
As for the two main leads, they are probably one of the most interesting couple I've found in the past few years.
Individually, Luo Wenzhou is the type of character I always like. He is confident to the point of having a narcissistic streak, but all of those are based on real talents and experiences. He speaks bluntly, but he cares for others through his action. He does not sugarcoat things and speaks the truth for what it is. Everything about him simply screams "reliable" as a leader (and a significant other to a certain someone). He deserves all of the respect and loyalty his subordinates gave to him.
Fei Du at first looks like a complex character whose real self is hidden beneath countless coats of pretense, but at the core, he is just a pitiful young man who does not know how to value himself, does not know how to love and be loved due to the abuse he suffered during childhood in the hands of his sadistic father. Despite his composure, his intelligence, his capability, he is almost like a lost little child, wandering in the darkness, going wherever the flow would take him until Luo Wenzhou pulled him out of that abyss. It is nothing less than commendable that he could restrain himself from succumbing into his father's manipulation, even if he has to correct himself through such extreme means for a long time.
And I'm glad that now he has someone who gives him the love he has long since been bereft of.
With Luo Wenzhou, Fei Du finally has a color in his life, someone to make happy memories with, and someone who genuinely love him for who he is. Likewise, with Fei Du, not only Luo Wenzhou got someone he could genuinely care for, he also finally has a place where he could relax, taking off the strong front he'd been putting before others all day long.
It was just so fulfilling to see two characters growing from "cat and dog" into inseparable lovers. They weren't sickeningly sweet, but just two people who are content with each other and would be each other's strength. I was especially happy when I saw how Fei Du changed his phone's ring tone into the one Luo Wenzhou in the extra chapter.
Now that I've finished reading this story, these two straight up went to the top of my all-time most favorite pairing list. But of course, this is just a personal opinion. Luo Wenzhou and Fei Du simply hits all of my favorite tropes, that's why. 😂
If I really have to point out one mini flaw, I suppose it's that the main villains aren't as appealing as the rest of the casts. They were practically overshadowed, even by some minor characters that only appeared for a short while.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS: 9/10
Just some very minor complaints:
1). When the story first introduced Fei Du in the beginning, it felt kind of abrupt. The narration had only been addressing him with his physical appearance, but suddenly they changed it into "Fei Du" with barely any proper start.
2). The international conference in Yan City (Chapter 2) was supposed to be a background information of the general setting of the first case, yet it was not properly mentioned at the start - rather, one sort paragraph about said conference was simply being slipped in the middle just for the sake to be there.
3). The switching of scenes between characters in the 3rd person POV are sometimes too quick with no signs of incoming transitions beforehand like taking shortcuts.
And by that, I mean that other than those three issues above, everything else was nothing less than perfect.
OVERALL SCORE: 9/10
A realistic story with perfectly balanced action, mystery, suspense, and romance - with a dash of comedy sprinkled at the right time and place.
Reading the novel from start to finish was nothing less than enjoyable. Whenever there needed to be a flashback or explanation, it didn't feel like info dump being thrown in all of a sudden.
I would like to point out a bit about the Zhou Conglomerate Case in Book 3.
Personally speaking, I think this is the most realistic case out of the others, and by that, I don't mean the crazy rich family drama.
The other cases in the books are something that to me feels "faraway"; murders, child trafficking, psychopath, organized criminal gangs. Yet in Book 3, due to the nature of the case, it was posted publicly for all to see, and damn if it didn't bring out the most annoying thing I actually hate in real life.
Clout-chasing media, meddlesome netizens commenting without thinking on the Internet, spreading personal information of the involved individuals without consent, handing down judgment based on rumors and personal opinions even if they have nothing to do with it (and know nothing about it), crashing the website due to mere curiosity, further hindering the police working on the case from doing their job.
They weren't thinking about those actually involved in the case, especially the victim. They don't care, or maybe don't even think that their meddlesome acts could cost a human's life because they see everything as mere passing entertainment. And if something were to happen because of their meddling, the most they would say is, of course, as quoted from Chapter 72:
"I didn't do it on purpose"
"I wasn't doing it to you"
"I didn't expect this to be the outcome"
"From a certain point of view, I'm a victim, too"
Even if I was just reading a fiction, at that moment I truly wished I could shut down the Internet for a bit. 😂
Anyway, amazing story. I might re-read everything from the start again when I have some free time.

Could you do Luna for the character ask?? Thank you!
YES!! Thank YOU!
favorite thing about them - her optimism and the way she always encourages her loved ones! it's so dang contagious :')
least favorite thing about them - not so much her than the writers not completing her story satisfyingly - i will always be disappointed that s3 spent too much time on Lutteo than Luna dealing with her new identity. the season clearly starts out with her having an identity crisis but instead of continuing that, she has relationship drama and gets obsessed with interpreting her dreams which I guess had somewhat to do with her trying to fill in the gaps left by her bio parents, but I wanted more of her internal turmoil through the whole ordeal (like how the writers really dive into Ámbar's internal battles throughout s3)
favorite line - i can't think of a line but her little monologue to Ámbar about being adopted has a special place in my heart - (ENGLISH SUBS: https://youtu.be/krBCGGpKWbM?t=87)
brOTP Luna/Nina (but Lumon is close behind, and i enjoy them as a trio esp in s2)
OTP Lutteo but i feel like they only really earn that label in s3 for me
nOTP Luna/Michel - he was basically the male version of her and she was never actually interested in him everyone just kept saying she was. nothing against him really, but no gracias
random headcanon she ends up in a similar career route to Juliana's in the future (minus the accident) - professional competing skater, followed by coaching in BA at the Jam&Roller
unpopular opinion she's justified at not trusting Ámbar in s3. it's great that Monica and Simón wanna give her a chance, and as much as i wish they could have continued their bond from early s2, there was too much bad blood, and Ámbar was incredibly cruel to Luna after so many chances. she's also justified at not trusting Matteo after the Emilia video because he was never clear or honest in their relationship (i believe Matteo should've told her about the video right away instead of trying to fix the situation himself - maybe then if she jumped to conclusions she'd be in the wrong, but that wasn't how it went down). she may hold grudges but only after being REPEATEDLY hurt, which I can understand. And she forgives Sharon out of all people at the end. this girl will always give people the benefit of the doubt, but she can only deal with so much hurt from people. not saying she's always in the right, she jumps to conclusions and still has other flaws (forgetfulness, spoiled/ignorance) but in those cases i think she is right lol
song i associate with them s1: daisies by katy perry s2: rare/look at her now by selena gomez (Matteo S2A hate hours smh) s3: goldenboy [girl] - jake scott (if they developed her better yknow)
favorite picture of them Just one??!! but....MY CHILD

The Courtship Of Jensen’s Co-Star{Masterpost} by qblackheart-
Summary:- Somewhere in the time between a handshake and a hug, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki went from being reel-life brothers to real-life best friends, and complete strangers to cosmic soul mates, no rhyme or reason to it that either of them could ever see. Jared was everything Jensen was not: friendly, funny, and full of life; one in six-point-whatever billion the Earth’s population currently stood at. Life was awesome. Work was amazing. Everything was fine until Jared kissed Jensen. Everything was peachy until Jensen fell in love. With desperate times unexpectedly calling for desperate measures, Jensen called Chad Michael Murray for relationship advice – because being in love led to temporary insanity obviously – so it really didn't surprise him that he couldn’t seem to win when it came to wooing Jared. Still, Pisces must’ve been in a really good place in the night sky or something because suddenly, right smack dab in the middle of the miserable courtship of his co-star, Jensen discovered that maybe loving Jared was all he needed to do to win his heart. And luckily for Jensen, loving Jared was also the one thing he did best. ~112k~
The Play Nice Proviso{Masterpost} by qblackheart-
Summary:- When Jensen Ackles first met Jared Padalecki, it was most definitely not love at first sight. It wasn’t even like at first sight. In fact, Jensen hated him, and he had a few good reasons as to why. So what if his new co-star was oblivious to his one-sided warfare? Jensen could deal. Apart from when he couldn’t. So when it came down to picking between Padalecki and his peace of mind, the choice seemed clear. Except for the fact that The Network had his balls in a vice, leaving him stuck with Supernatural, stuck with his idiot co-star, and worst of all, stuck with a ‘Play Nice’ Proviso added to his contract. Well, he could play nice. He would play so nice that the world was going to think that he and Jared Padalecki were the bestest friends in the history of best friends. It was unfortunate then that no one had ever told Jensen what happened when an immovable object met an irresistible force; no one had ever thought to mention that there was a thin line between hate and love; and nothing, absolutely nothing, could have possibly prepared him for Playing Nice with Jared Padalecki. ~70k~
