Overview
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake combines full remakes of Dragon Quest I and Dragon Quest II, allowing players to experience the legendary RPGs for the first time ever on modern platforms. The new trailer showed off gameplay for the first time, as players take control of the descendants of Erdrick, the legendary hero whose legacy is passed down through generations in these games. Last year’s Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake chronologically takes place before Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, so players can continue the story in these games and complete the revered Erdrick Trilogy or pick up and play this compilation as a standalone adventure. Developed by Square Enix Team Asano, “HD-2D” is a critically acclaimed graphic style that combines pixel art characters with 3D backgrounds, then adds high-definition visual effects to deliver a nostalgic, yet fresh visual style. DRAGON QUEST I & II HD-2D Remake is the sixth title produced in the HD-2D style. More information will be revealed about Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake in the future.

Pixel gladiator – 16 bit action movie and base

Walking in the Steam space, sometimes, you can see such an interesting little games. They are something like small. So, you even can to not to notice them. You need to spent hours to sit and watch what is in the list in Steam. But, it happens, that you can find! And, this is a very happy cool moment! Some kind of small and funny game. Thematical. There are lots of them. But, only you need to do – it is a search. And, so, I have found, exactly, something this way!
Before your eyes, something like style 16 bit action movie. With style of retro games. Some arcades from the past. Pixel gladiator. This is action. Style of defense your territory. You have a base. And you need to upgrade it and defend. From aliens. There are some mutants. I don’t know. Cthulhu. I don’t know who. Flying eyes, beholders. Monsters different. So, from them. Your base in the center. And from the left and from the right monsters are goes.

And, you are by yourself in a space suit. Like a stormtrooper from the future. Runs the map. And shoot. Jumps high. So, you are doing active things to defense a base too.
Game is going by the waves. Waves with enemies. Later, you can do upgrade yourself. Base and yourself. To buy yourself a new weapon. Something like flying shoes, for example. You can setup a wall for your base. And monsters will try to destroy the wall. To setup there a machineguns, lasers. And these will do damage to the monsters. Until they gone. And, they are, already, caught in a fire.

And, this has interesting feature. I do not understand it at first. So, here, there are video cameras. And you need to destroy enemies in a field of camera`s view. Not far from the base. Almost, at the end of the screen. And, in this case, you will get income. And, using this funds, you can do upgrades for yourself and the base. And so, this game is goes by waves.
Here, you have suggested with three arenas. First one - it is most simple. And next – more tricky. First - it is simply a base at the surface, like Earth or some planet. Fantastic. Second – everything is hovering in the air. And you need to jump a lot. In the clouds. So, it is, already, much harder! I, by myself, complete first arena. 10 waves. And, a big boss! Really big one, as you can remember from 8 and 16 bits games. And he has big life bar. He is not hard, but there are lots of routine. And, you can do mistakes and get lose after that point!

Game is very interesting. For a fans of 8 and 16 bits games. So, a nostalgia. With graphics. It is here pixelated. Beautiful pixels. And this is like tower defense. And, same time, it is like action. Your character moves very fast. As in action movies or Sega or Nes. Two in one. Fantastic action movie, two dimensional. With pixels. And, it plays rather like action. You are running all over the base. From the left, and opposite, from the right. And, from one side - it is now less enemies. So, run to the other side – there are lots of them there, now. And, these actions, all over the time. You all time in a move.

There are good amount of upgrades as for base as for player. Flamethrower, something speed, like blaster rifle. Flying shoes. Upgrades health. It is very interesting to get them. Two modes for shooting. Left and right mouse buttons. Different monsters. And funny drawn mutants. Big and small. Flying and that can walk. And base. You need to build a wall. And enemies try to break it. And big turrets you set or machineguns, lasers. You automatically destroy enemies. These things shoot by themselves. With a distance.
Not bad. Entertaining. Retro game. To shoot, to upgrade base. And pixels graphics. Unexpected and so cool thing to dig videogame! It will be so nice, if in Steam – to show more such games. And not only top games solutions from a big cool firms. Such small games – they are rather good and interesting.

Playing little games. From time to time i like to play videogames. And write about it. Dima Link is making retro videogames, apps, a little of music, write stories, and some retro more.

Square Enix has announced Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). It will launch in 2025.
Following the release of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake on November 14, 2024, Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will continue the classic RPG trilogy’s narrative, offering players two adventures to undertake in Dragon Quest I and Dragon Quest II. Chronologically, Dragon Quest I and Dragon Quest II follow the events of Dragon Quest III.
Further details were not announced.

Killing Floor – workshop – new maps, weapons, plus 1000 points of interest!

Killing Floor, it is a game about a maps, something like Counter Strike. But, here you need to deflect monsters waves. Lots of monsters. They attack with every wave. And, you deflect these waves. Different difficulty levels. And you can play alone or by network. With several players.

Players, they can be several, one more, two, three. Or a very a lot of them, several tens. About 32 or 64. I don’t remember for sure, certain number. But, there are lots of players. And, every this type of game has its own gameplay. When you are alone - it is one style of game, and there are several players – it is already another game style. And, if there are lots of player, then your perception, again, tells you about another game style. Plus there are different difficulty levels. And, they affect the game also a different way.

And it plays with the different maps. Very different. So, I discovered for myself Steam Workshop. It is a section with additional material for game. Users, already, creates this content. Not every game has a workshop. But, in a places, where it is exists, users, game fans makes very different things for game.

For example, new maps, new monsters, new weapons. And all of these are installing very fast just from Steam for your game. And, it plays again, as a something new. By the idea, workshop gives +1000 points of interest to the game. There are lots of maps! Weapons, it has even more! There are changes skins for you game character, For example, with Knucles from Sonic!

Very first thing I pay attention, when I find game workshop. It is a new maps, and weapons. There is a map with aliens. So, it is even more, workshop has a several these style maps. And I like a map. And it is at the center some object, like a pilar, maybe. Or it has empty place, I don’t remember. But enemies are going from the center. And, by sides, there are ledges with elevation, stairs. And there are a roads to them. Enemies from center. And you, for example, are standing in some side and in a crossfire. And I like a lot this kind of games. When you are at something like a position, and in a crossfire with automatic rifles. M16, AK47, machineguns different. Main idea, it is good and fast to shoot.

There are lots of new weapons here. Even more than a maps. I am not expert in weapons. But, it has a big variations. It has lots of different AK47, 74. So, I remember this moment. Of course, M16 something there is. Big selection. I like a lot automatical rifles.
I like a lot map in Antarctica. For example. Such a fog. A snow. And a building of science station, as a containers, blocks, squares, it has a little labyrinth. A passages. Some passages are blocked. And there is open space. Fog and a big snow, you need to avoid.

Workshop has, also, a new monsters. For example, monsters from Aliens. So, this is about these big bugs. They are black with tails, for example. It is a good choice for more diverse in gameplay.
All of these you can download. And to calibrate it in a special very comfortable menu. Already, ingame. What will you include in you current game session. You can add new weapons, monsters. Then to select a new map. By the way, it is very interesting, new weapon, you even do not need to buy, it is not necessary. It will be with you from the start. And, just run for ammo for it. Between waves.

I like also a map hive. It is so bright and full of joy. Yellow. And honeycombs. You are something like inside a bee hive. But there are no bees here. Beautiful texture. And, it gives some new fresh look for a game. Especially, with compare with a serious maps, as a base, forest, some dark locations. It is a very funny thing!

Maybe, I have a dream to make by myself some additional content for this game. Maybe, a simple map, or simple weapon suggest to players. Also, to add something to game workshop. But this is – maybe, dreams, u know, another theme. Right now, I am about a game itself. And about a thing, that I give myself a try a workshop steam. For example, with this game. For fans of Doom and games like this, this one is very cool thing!

In the May update, one of the most profound and emotionally rich stories of Romance Club came to its conclusion. Dracula: A Love Story led us through fear and awe, choices and doubts, sacrifices and trembling confessions. Today, we’ll take a peek behind the scenes and speak with the person who breathed life into this dark, passionate, and beautiful world.
Facts from Veronica, the writer of Dracula: A Love Story:
The finale was written in three cities alternatingly: Istanbul, Rome, and Chișinău. It happened unintentionally, but each of these cities is built on seven hills and played a symbolic role in the fate of the historical Dracula. My arrival in Istanbul coincided with a 6.2 magnitude earthquake, which resonates strongly with the plot. And my stay in the Vatican coincided with the death of the Pope, the Conclave, and the appointment of a new one—also symbolic, though in a different sense. Of course, these are just coincidences, but maybe don’t invite me over for now.
Instead of two final episodes, we had to write four to fit everything in. The total number of lines in the finale surpassed 10,000, while a standard episode is usually no more than 1,500 lines. My laptop keys gave out and flew off, and I had to finish writing on an old keyboard I dug out of storage, which I didn’t even have time to wipe down. It stayed perfectly on theme for Dracula—with its cobwebs and ghostly creaking.
The hardest part was triple the volume within the same deadlines, plus the realization that the finale wraps everything up: there would be no chance to go back, clarify something, or add anything. It was like sprinting a marathon.
Thankfully, just like Councilor Septentrion, I had a wonderful assistant, Anna. She joined the Dracula: A Love Story team in autumn 2024, taking on a portion of the detailed scene writing and technical aspects—codes, spreadsheets, art coordination, which allowed me to focus on the creative and strategic side of the novel. We’ve never met in person, but we clicked quickly, and by the time we reached the finale, the story had a reliable second pilot who understood me with half a word, and so the flight landed safely. Anna also loves cats, and she’s a deeply sensitive author and human being, which was the main reason I chose her for the role of my assistant (the sensitivity, not the cats—although...).
Once the text was submitted, the tech team, editors, translators, artists, and the composer began their titanic work on the finale... Everyone cared deeply and gave it their all and a little bit more, and I’m incredibly grateful to each of them.
This story’s path was long and far from straight, but I’m glad it all turned out exactly as it did. A year or two ago, I wouldn’t have been able to write the finale I created now. It took inner growth. Perhaps some readers won’t see anything particularly special in it, because the definition of special is different for everyone. But to me, this finale is exactly what it needed to be. I am endlessly grateful to everyone who helped make it happen: to the Romance Club management for their trust and support during the hardest times. To the team, for their efforts and constant creativity. And, of course, to the readers, for your patience, your loyalty to the story despite the pauses, for all your love and the light you’ve given in return.
