Headcanon: Weird random abilities that have nothing to do with being the champion of magic (#1?)

With all that power stored somewhere in the champions soul, it isn't weird to believe that it sometimes leaks out in their non powered form, case and point:

The ability to predict weather while being in their mortal form.

It isn't like they magically know when it is about to rain, nor do they have super sharp senses. They just have grown very accustomed to it.

I mean, each time the champion transforms, lightning strikes. Lightning creates clouds, which changes the strengh of the sunrays. The transformtion produces Ozon, which is a smell that usually appears when it is about to rain (or right after). Lightning comes from storms which changes the winds. Lightning can make the air static. When transforming back your body is hit with all kinds of enviornmental inputs that didn't bother you before and you have to quickly get accustomed to that.

Everything combined creates the effect that changes in the enviornment are sort of unconciously take in, and that information can be used to make concusions.

For example: Darla was just playing in the park with a few of her friends when all of a sudden she starts sniffing the air. Directly after she advices everyone to go home as a downpour is coming up. Everyone is confused because the clouds aren't that dark and ouminous and there wasn't any rain forcasted today.

On Darla's insistance they go home and not even thirty minutes later and enourmous downpour occurs.

Another example: Eugene is helping a friend fix their robot after a botfight (yes, Eugene partakes in that). His friend reaches to a component to remove it when Eugene suddenly grabs his wrist and tells him dead seriously that there is electricity running trough it. The friend tries to laugh it off as the battery is certainly dead and nothing can happen. However he checks just in case.

The battery was not dead and he would have ended up in the hospital if he touched it.

Eugene's reason for knowing: "There was static in the air"

I truly think what luffy and zoro saw so immediately in nami in orange town, before she even really saw it in herself, that made them clock her as crew was just that reality defying tenacity and conviction that all of them share. luffy looks at her across the bars of that cage and understands that there’s something in this world she wants with the same ferocity he does, ideals that she obeys with the same intensity as him, and it’s that moment of understanding that makes him set on her being part of his crew. nami likes to pretend that she’s the normal one but the truth is that she’s just as much of a freak as luffy or zoro, and she’s a freak in exactly the same way! she’d rather bend the laws of reality and physics to her will than lie down and accept a loss, and zoro and luffy spend the rest of their relationship calling her bluff every time she tries to pretend it isn’t true. all three of them have eyes bigger than their stomachs and an understanding from day 1 that the only thing scarier than trying and failing is to never have tried at all. I just love them a lot is what I’m getting at here ok

since chapters 3&4 are approaching, one theory/prediction i really enjoy (thanks to @stunfiskz in particular) is that rouxls' valentine's letter #1 was specifically about lanino and elnina, and in chapter 3 he'll momentarily ditch queen and spend the chapter trying to become their third. aka these cards directly relate to each other:

these cards both had the same rarity (they were notoriously rare and both of their file names have "sssr", "super-super-super rare" in them). all the valentine's cards had this type of a rarity indication in their file name, for example, common ones having "c", rare ones having "r", super rare ones having "sr" etc. additionally, these two cards were the *only* ones with the rank "super-super-super rare". furthermore, all the cards had a serial number in their file names as well and these ones were right after one another (lanino and elnina's is 40 and rouxls' is 41).

besides i just think it would be funny lmao. rouxls' wording indicates that his letter is about more than one person, (it might still be about queen as well, but not *exclusively* her) and i just really find it hysterical that he's asking the question "art they like... single?" about what is for all he knows the most monogamous devoted couple in the history of the dark world. i love the idea of rouxls getting sent their valentine and somehow getting the idea that this is in fact "hotte" and the senders might even be single. (it's the only valentine he was sent this year. obviously.)

also i really love lanino and elnina's potential reaction to rouxls. the fact that they feel the need to emphasize they "exclusively" love each other "and no once else" is absolute gold and really just makes both of these cards come across as 100% funnier if you think of them as relating to each other. lanino and elnina clearly do NOT want a third. and they especially do not want ROUXLS lmao

we really need to start calling generative ai and analytical ai different things. they are not the same animal.

there's a conversation worth having about the kingdom hearts' marketing team and their overt reliance on their fan base to keep their series' interest up.

be it the actual team working on the game in-house, or if it's just square enix's division making wack ass choices, you really notice this stupid, weird trend over the two decades we've had these games. showcasing the "coolest" parts of the game out the gate because we need to draw interest, despite it becoming clear these games are made for fans that were already gonna play them.

there's no reason for people who aren't fans to play these games outside of passing interest in story, or just having fun in the whimsy. every game is meant to help tell a big story, so starting with, say, bbs or kh3 puts you in a weird spot. but so many trailers are just jam-packed with endgame spoilers. and it's either marketing leads being oblivious to how important plot beats are to be kept secret, or they know exactly what they're doing in order to make people take storms to social media, having these very high energy conversations about the game now that they've seen some of the most important parts.

kh3 is probably the most obvious example, as well as the most recent, but you go watch bbs trailers and you'll see that they just about revealed vanitas out the gate. which is meant to be a bit of a rug pull after a 6 hour campaign with ventus. not that they needed it to be hidden for all that time, but they practically spelled it out in the trailers before, rather than letting their story drop the hints and lead you to the conclusion naturally.

im not an expert in this stuff, but it feels deliberate at this point. a lot of people who watched the kh3 trailers before release and playing the game themself were less impacted by the game than those who remained blind. but would hype revolving around the game be as massive if they hadn't done that? im doubtful it would've been a snooze fest, far from it. but at the end of the day, fans of the games were being "catered" to more than trying to get newcomers into the games. word of mouth between fans kept the game in headlights for a while in between all the trailers, only propelled more and more with each trailer that gave more stuff from the end of the game.

whether or not it was a good thing—what was in the trailers—is an entirely subjective thing. but a large majority of people look back and realize that all the spoilers didn't make the experience better. it dampened the impact of events we'd already seen.

but hey, the game was hyped up like crazy before release. so something worked.
